Speaker 1 (00:00):
We had an interesting debate a minute ago on the
but hold on one second. We'll get to the keyword
in a second. By the way, the keyword is green.
If you want to get a jump start on everybody else,
go use that keyword green on katiewb dot com to
win some green of one thousan dollars. We had a
discussion a minute ago because somehow baby changing in diapers
came up and I said, oh, you gotta wipe the baby.
(00:22):
Even if they pee, he changed their diapers, got to
wipe them. There's been a debate. Some people's are absolutely
adamant that you should not. Some people are adamant that
you should. Here is what we found online.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Oh you looked up.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Somebody sent it to me and I'm going to give
a shout out to Maria Irwin who bothered to take
the time. And it is from Healthy Children dot org.
Believe it or not, this is I'm reading word for word,
Believe it or not.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Not.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Every diaper change requires the use of wipes. This is
not only because p is rarely irritating, but also because
today's super absorbent disposable diapers effectively limit the amount of
pea that comes into contact with your baby's skin. Really,
reserving wipes for cleaning up poo can save you some money.
It'll save you wipes, it'll be less in the landfill. Also,
(01:08):
keep in mind that a moist tissue, a wet washcloth,
or even a quick rinse in the tub might be
used in place of baby wipes when it's convenient. So
there's a little something you do not have to do it.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Is there such a thing as a quick rinse in
a tub. I've never been known to take a quick
rinse anywhere.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
No, And I've never given a baby a quick.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Rinse just pick them up and like dip there.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Never I don't think I've ever done that before.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Now that's called a baptism, is what that is. So
now now you have your answer. It is the keyword
once again is green. Go use that on ktbdbat on
com for one thousand dollars. That'll stock you up in
baby wipes and diapers and ointment for a long time.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
And fireworks for the fourth of July.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
And fireworks for the fourth of July. We're gonna play
Wheel of Opinions on KTWGB. We're gonna spend wheel just
everybody's got an opinion you can get an opinion on
different things. So Bailey, go ahead, spin the wheel, whatever
it lands on, you'll give us your opinion on that thing.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
All right. I got Netflix or Hulu?
Speaker 4 (02:14):
I say obviously Netflix, because it's the first thing that
pops up when I open up my little streaming platform.
I mean, I like Hulu. The Bear is on Hulu,
and I love the Bear. There are things on Hulu
that are great, but Netflix is my go to one
that I always choose.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Psyche Okay, okay.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
All right, but hey, everybody's got an opinion.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
On fo fu coffee drinks?
Speaker 3 (02:44):
What do you mean?
Speaker 5 (02:44):
What does that mean? Like mancha or like a brown
sugar oh milkshakeing espresso.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
I love the delight frappuccino.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Some of them are too much.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
I always go for a brown sugar oh milkshaken espresso,
but then you just.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Get lost in the sauce, like, oh, caramel drizzle. Oh
don't I.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Were the fattest country on the face of the earth,
Because it's like, instead of going in and having a like.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
A black cock a black coffee.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
With maybe a little mini moo in there, you get
a seven hundred calorie and you're.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Like, no, that's my morning, koffee.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
You've already consumed one third of your daily calorie allowance
and you haven't even gotten to the office yet.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
They're so good, though, that.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Fat fat holistic health. Not a fan is such. It
is snake oil.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
I feel like that's why it's in your color.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Yeah, it's like it's I'm not a fan. It doesn't work.
I'm not going to get into an argument about your
wiki and things like that. If you are sick, you
go to a doctor. You go see your doctor and
she will prescribe something for you. Thank God for the
Big Pharma because with Big Pharma. Without it, we wouldn't
we would have polio. We'd all have polio. We'd be
walking around with polio and the mumps. But because of
(03:53):
Big Pharma, Thank God for Big Pharma. You do not
need holistic healing. You'll have It's like you go and
you're like, oh, I feel a whole lot better because
they put it into your mind that you feel better
than you walk out of your car and you die
holistic healing.
Speaker 4 (04:06):
I will say that the sun is a good holistic
health in general.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
I feel better way.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
That is legitimate. There's research that shows that it makes
you feel better.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Oh yeah, okay, I'm here.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Okay, spin that wheel.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Room temperature water.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
I used to be a big fan, used to be
a huge fan of room temperature water.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Now I prefer my water cold.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
The one thing that really gets me is that my sister,
shout out Madison, she drinks soda room temperature, which is disgusting,
absolutely disgusting. They keep all of their soda in like
little twelve packs just sitting around.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Out outside of the fall. Insane, insane. It is criminal.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
Women's sports well as the feminist on the Dave Ryan Sho,
I am all here for women's sports. Do everything, matter
of fact, do it so good. Men don't have to
do them anymore. They should just be sports, and they're all.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Sports only women's sports.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
Gosh, this guy, what a try hard.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Wheel of opinions. An opinion this time on crocs. I'm
a fan, I'm a convert. Your friend Vaunt last summer said, Dave,
you got to get crocs. I'm like, we're gonna wear
those ugly Sully things. Those are for kids and stupids,
the stupid, the stupid. They're they're for kids and the stupids.
(05:37):
And then Vaughn said ge go get one and I
got them and they're great.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
I love them.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
They've got a nice bright red color too. You can't
get a boring color like black or gray.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Yeah, I got the is like a like a hunter's
orange kind of color. And I even put the little
the little decorations in there too, the gibbets, the gibbets.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
I'm a big fan of crocs.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Now, if you if you think you're too good for them, Seriously,
it's like you've never treated your feet unless you've treated
them to crocs. All right, we'll be back. That keyword
once again is green. Go into that. I want you
to win it.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Good luck the Dave Ryan Show on Katie WB.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Thousand dollars worth of whatever you want, you can have it.
We will hand you the cash. You got to play
the game though. We just go on katielybeat dot com.
Little box going to pop up and you type in
the keyword changes every hour. It's green. So go do
that for your thousand bucks. Oh, Jenny's been on Reddit.
(06:31):
Jenny's been in Iceland, so Bailey's been.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
On Reddit, and today Jenny's been on Reddit. Is brought
to you by Mary and Jane and I'm going to
tell you nine little dating rules that make the process easier.
I know both you, David and vont are out of
the dating game, but I'm not, and Jenny's not, and
I'm sure a lot of our listeners are not either.
So here are some dating rules that make the process easier.
(06:54):
Number one, don't judge them by the first kiss unless
it's a disaster. Usually a first kiss, it's just eh,
and it takes time to get used to each other's
styles and preface.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Very good point.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, somebody will be like a lot of tongue and mouthful,
like a bass and you're like what the and other
people are like and it's just yeh.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
It's hard to get it going.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
So don't judge by the first kiss.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Number two, give them a full twenty four hours to
reply to text messages in early dating, especially if you've
never met or have only met once or twice for
a date, they're still a stranger and you're not in
each other's inner circle yet.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
Oh I'm so guilty of this because I think like, oh,
I see you post on Instagram, you posted on your story,
but she didn't text me back yet?
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Yeah, why are you texting me back?
Speaker 3 (07:36):
And I think that about everybody. It's not just like partners.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
I think that about like coworker's friends, et cetera.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Well, apparently this does not apply if you're setting up
a date or confirming a date that's within twenty four hours,
then they have to get back to number three. Don't
follow each other on social media until you're official. This
one is a hard pill to swallow here, but here's
the reasoning. Unless you love the anxiety that comes with
being able to track someone's online activity when they're too
slow to respond to your text fond leak, don't follow
(08:05):
each other. Checking out their social presence is fine, but
don't follow them, which I one hundred percent am guilty of,
because then I'll see like, did they look at my story?
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Did they see my story?
Speaker 4 (08:15):
Because I made this vague story so that they would
see it. Did they see it? And that's not a
thing that you should do. Bad for your anxiety. Totally
agree Number four. If you had a good time on
a date and want to see them again, just text
them after the date. Dave Ryan who always wants us
to play games, apparently don't do that. I don't care
what your gender sexuality is, showing interest instead of trying
(08:37):
to make someone chase you is so attractive and will
make you stand out in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Okay, yeah, all right.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
Number five ask them what are you hoping to get
out of dating right now?
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Early?
Speaker 4 (08:48):
It could be on the first date or second date,
or via text between dates. But have this conversation sooner
rather than later. See if you're on the same page,
what are you hoping to get out of dating right now?
Speaker 3 (08:57):
I don't like that question. It sounds like it's too leading.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Is kind of strange, it's a little bit leading, like,
you know what, I just want to meet people. I
don't want to you know, you might be the right one,
you might not be the right one. I might want
to settle into a relationship. Or I might just want
to have some fun, right or am I not? And
there's nothing wrong with like I just want to have
some fun. I want to like, meet, meet some different people,
enjoy a little uh, you know, a little makeout sash
here and there. And maybe that sounds gross to.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Them, right, why can't we just that sounds nice? I feel? Okay?
Number six plan short dates.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
You can always extend dates if you're having a good time,
but early on Shorter dates help you avoid hushing or
ushing the conversation, and you leave them wanting.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
More, leave them wanting more. Yes.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Number seven, Texting isn't dating.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
If you find yourself going back and forth with someone
for hours via text, tell them you prefer talking on
the phone or chatting in real.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Life on a date.
Speaker 5 (09:44):
See a big problem with texting, especially in twenty twenty five,
A lot of people are more comfortable texting instead of
being on the phone all day. And back to your
point about like this is still new. There's a lot
of pressure to talk to somebody on the phone for
X amount of hours.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
But if you're like only texting, then it's like, well,
I'm only texting you, I text you every day, Let's
make a plan to meet up.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
What are we doing?
Speaker 5 (10:04):
It shouldn't be only texting, but I think texting every
now and then mixed it with some phone calls is
okay okay.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Number eight. Don't wait to be asked out on dating apps.
If you're enjoying a conversation, just say you want to
meet in person and see what happens.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Period number nine. This is the last one.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
Ask yourself if you like them, and if you like
how they're treating you.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
After every date, ask yourself if you.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
Want to see them again, focus on their behavior and actions,
and reflect on if you like it. You are the
chooser in this situation and boom. Those are nine texts
for dating right now in twenty twenty five. But okay,
that's Jenny's been on Reddit, brought to you by Mary
and Jane.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Thank you, Bailey.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Dave's Dirt wrapping it up for the week next on KDWB.
We are going to wrap things up with Dave's dirt
here in a second. I can also give you some
things to do over the weekend because we're heading out.
It's a gloriously hot midsummer almost Midsummer day. Tomorrow looks
great with the weather until maybe later at night.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
Saturday. We don't want to talk about Saturday.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
No, we're not gonna talk about Saturday.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Saturday does not look good. But as Bailey put it earlier,
it's kind of a sandwich because Sunday looks pretty good.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
It's like Friday is good, Sunday is good, Saturday is
not good. I'd rather it be a positive sandwich than
rain sun rain. Yeah, negative sandwich.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Last year, a lot of fourth of July festivities were
just washed out, just canceled, like all of chan Hasen
was just canceled. The Bingo, the parade, everything was just
so sad. And tomorrow at eleven o'clock, I'm gonna be
calling bingo at City Center Park in the big Bingo
Tent tomorrow from eleven until one or so till we
run out of prizes. It's free, it's fun, it's for
(11:42):
all ages, and we'll see you there playing bingo.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
You want to test out any event or under.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
The B fifteen B fifteen.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Okay, it's only one. I only got one.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
It's always fun to be like, okay, I call like
ten numbers. Does anybody yet not have a single number
on their card? And like three sad people raise their hands,
uh bingo to borrow. And then there's all kinds of
other things. I'll get to some of the other things
coming up in a second. Let's get started with Dave's
Dirt on Katie.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
W B from Hollywood right to your radio. It's Dave's
Dirt on Kati w B.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Probably the biggest story in the dirt today is Diddy.
Speaker 6 (12:19):
They acquitted him of the sex trafficking, which was absolutely innocent.
Of They acquitted him of the racketeering conspiracy that he
was absolutely innocent of, and all of the components to it.
The kidnapping he was innocent of that. The arson, he
was innocent of that. The obstructing justice, he was innocent
(12:39):
of that. And that is no longer just me saying
that that is the verdict of our jury.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
Is that his lawyer, lawyer, he's absolutely innocent. And I'm like, Okay,
that sounds nice. Wrap it up big, Yeah, this is
maybe news that only interests me. But Dancing with the
Stars was always been one of my favorite shows with
my mom. And we already know that Robert Irwin's going
to be on it. Hit Steve Irwin's son Alex Earl.
She's a huge TikTok person. And now there's talks that
(13:08):
Taylor Lotner from Twilight Oh Wow, is possibly joining Dancing
with the Stars. Source claims they're in talks with it
now and finalizing everything. I would love it if Taylor Lawner.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Has he done anything of note since twyl.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Like since well, like right after Twilight, he was trying
to be.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
Like the next Matt Damon, so it was like a
born identity situation.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
He was doing movies like that.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
Yeah, But since then, I think the most notable thing
that he has done is a podcast with his wife,
whose name is Taylor, So it's Taylor Latner and Taylor Latner,
no kidding, Okay, I think.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Is a good bit.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
Honestly, We've been talking all week about train Wreck, the
Netflix doc. We talked about the poop Cruise one where
twelve years ago everybody went on a cruise the electricity
went out, poop pe galore.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
That's a weird way to put it.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
They dropped another one this week, but I'm looking forward
to there's one about Storm Area fifty one that's dropping
it July twenty ninth, and they put the trailer on
and it looks good. Apparently they're doing the series like
dropping new ones every week.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Well, I watched the one on American Apparel and I'm
gonna tell you it was the worst one of the
series so far. Okay, it was not very good. It's
the current one. There's another one coming out on July eighth,
which is like perhaps Tuesday. What's that oning gonna be
about Project X? What is Project X asking the wrong?
Speaker 4 (14:22):
Go? Okay, I know something else that's coming out today,
on HBO Max is the film Sinners. So if you
like Sinners or you haven't seen Centers yet, but it
got a lot of really great reviews when it was
in theaters. Honestly, it might still be in some theaters.
But that's the one starring Michael B.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
Jordan. It's like an epic vampire film.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Yes, and I saw it, Yeah, and it was.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Actually it was so different because they say it's a
vampire film, and the first hour and a half of
the movie you're like, this is not a vampire film.
It's an historical piece about you know, people that you know,
like third nineteen thirties or whatever, and then it all
of a sudden turned out and it's like whoa.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Yeah, I'm excited to see it, especially like from the
comfort of my own home, because I can guarantee I'll
be scared, but I really want to try.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
For Michael B.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Jordan, Thank you for that.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
We appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
Thanks.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Going on this weekend, there's so much going on. Red
White and Boom is tomorrow downtown Minneapolis, big old fireworks
to show with fireworks were at ten. They have food
trucks and live music. They're doing the Big Fourth, a
big Rock Creek in Saint Croix Falls. That's tomorrow Valley Fair.
Star Spangled Night is tomorrow, nine forty five at Valley
Fair and basically they're doing all kinds of like patriotic music.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
And they're doing the fireworks and all that. That's at
Valley Fair.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Taysom, Minnesota is this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, downtown Minneapolis.
They don't say where, but it's kind of cool. Some
of the acts that are going to be there, Joan
Jet and the Black Hearts and Cheap Trick Wow are
going to be there, and then on Sunday, Ludacris and
our friend Nerdy are going to be there.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
It's an interesting pairing, but really good. It makes sense
what you think about it.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Rock the Fourth Hairball is going to be at the
chs Feel That is tomorrow night in Saint Paul. Native
American Food Truck Festival is Saturday, eleven till one.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
That's going to be at the.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Harriet Island Regional Park and the Links are in town.
The Twins are hosting the Rays Tomorrow Saturday and Sunday,
and then there's there's just all kinds of local festivals
go out to her. If you're new in town, maybe
you just moved here from Denver, maybe just moved here
from California. Go out to your local town's a little
forest celebration. Yeah, they're just so they're just so cool. Yeah,
(16:34):
it's like it's just a great little thing.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
Way less packed than the Minneapolis one for sure, because
that one is always super packed, which honestly does kind
of add to it sometimes because it's got like food
trucks and things.
Speaker 5 (16:44):
Yeah, there's a full list of events going on in
the Twin Cities, as well as a separate list of
fireworks and things to go do for the fourth on
Dave Ryanshore dot com. I'm prob I'm gonna try to
do Valley Fair. I mentioned to you guys, my family's
in town Valley Fair for the fireworks tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
But if not.
Speaker 5 (16:59):
Somebody texted early they said, there's like a spot far
from Valley Fair, but you can still see the Valleyfair fireworks,
So okay, crowded.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
You know, you absolutely could.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
There's a little secret spot right by the Flying Cloud
Airport And it used to be a road stop back
when that was like a cross country highway. It was
a rest stop and there's a monument there and it's
kind of like hidden away from the road.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
But if you're getting it away.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
But there's no parking, and that's the thing. But if
you were, if you god, I would love to be
able to describe exactly where it is. But then forty
seven million people would show up.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
That's how many people listen to this show.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
If you're on the bluff above Valley Fair, right by
Flying Cloud Airport, that would be a great place to
watch the Valley Fair fireworks. So I wish I could
tell you my secret little spot. But if you know
where I'm talking about, you're going, Oh brilliant, Dave, thank
you very much. It's an old like nineteen forties rest stop,
and there used to be a giant plaque there that
(17:57):
somebody you know, carried off and melted down for the
met but it's still very cool.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
All right.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
That's it. Have a great weekend, be safe, We love you.
We'll see you back here Monday on KD Double Ub
