five okay maybe, And Dave found Stephanie on Instagram, and uh,
Stephanie was pretty shocked when she got a d M
from Dave Ryan being like, hey, we should have you

on this riden you know. But the reason we have
Stephanie on is because she always posts all these amazing
events happening around the Twin Cities. So she's very much
in the know of fun things. And so you do
kind of like a top five list now yeah here,
and then I post them every week, like all week long. Yes,

So Stephanie's gonna tell us top five things kind of
happening in the Twin Cities this weekend, and so if
you don't have any plans, listen up. Yes, okay.

So number five is for turtle nerds. I guess I
could call it with turtles. There's a turtlefest called shell
Libration on Sunday from eleven to three at French Regional
Park in Plymouth, so you can, like, it's gonna be
like a turtle petting zoo and a canoe for free
in the lake Medicine Lake and see where they live.
And they'll have biologists and people from like Minnesota Zoo

for like turtle talks, photo booth, trivia, and food truck.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
So I think it's gonna be that sounds super fun, actually, Alebration.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
My kids are obsessed with turtles, they always have been,
so yeah, we find them like at the cabin and
then keep them for a pet for an hour.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
So yeah, super fun, hands on all right. Number four
is a plant swap.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
You can bring your plants in anything you know, cuttings
and wrap them in paper cup or whatever or ziploc
bring anything they want to get rid of and then
you can kind of swap with other people that are there.
So that's gonna be tomorrow from one to three at
the Adyna Lie in the meeting room.

I guess it's like right outside of the all plant swap.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Yes, plant swaps are huge with my Instagram friends, so
glad to share. Yeah. Number three, I hope you can
help me chime in here. But Musical Mondays last show.
It's on Monday. Yeah. It's like a monthly cabaret series
they do with local actors that.

Just come in and perform songs.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yes, Like Bailey posted a video and I was like, whoa,
these guys are good.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Yes, it's good.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
I go every single month, probably for the last year
or two. And yeah, it's just musical theater artists in
the in the Twin Cities and they it's just kind
of like a musical review. They just sing two songs
from musical theater that they like. And it's a bar,
so there's drinks, there's food. Yeah, and it's so fun
and I'll be there.

So like a suggested donation of five dollars, but they're
not going to turn you away, and it sounds like
they give away tickets to, like, yeah, shows, So if
you do the suggested donation of five dollars, you can
put your name into a bowl.

And so if you do ten dollars, you can put
your name in twice. And then at the end they
draw names to win tickets to things around the Twin City.

Yeah, it looks like they have about, I don't know,
eight or nine plays their performances they're giving away tickets
to on Monday.

Dope, Yeah, I love it. So does that only happen
once a month? Once a month? Yeah, for the first Monday,
Like you were there way more often than just once
to seem like that, But it's just once a month.

Yeah, Okay, then that's from seven to nine on Monday,
and the doors open at six thirty.

Number two, there is a block in northeast Minneapolis that
has like four cool vintage thrifty shops going on and
they're having a block party in the parking lot out back.
It's on Fifth and head open. It's on Saturday from
eleven to six, so pretty much all day. Olio Mathodities
Golden Pearl twelve vultures. Those are the four main ones,
but then they have a bunch of guests. People bring
in their collection too, so they'll be shopping and a

DJ food by Gardens of Salonika, which is like super
good Greek food.

It's a cool little shop down there. Let's see is
that tomorrow?

Yes, yes, Saturday eleven to six, okay, And I'll have
hand drawn portraits going on live denim painting.

It sounds artyo an aura photography which I don't know
what that is.

Neither sounds cool, it'sterious.

Yeah, so that's yeah tomorrow It then Hennepin in northeast,
and then.

Number one I have is Grand Old Day.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
I don't know if you've ever been, but basically they
shut down Grand Ab and have a huge party that
you know. They have six stages of live music, a
parade at nine thirty, Wiener dog races, a car show,
family fund zone, so there's a lot going on and
you can get there for free on the bus, which
I think is cool, and I think they have like
a shuttle service setup.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
It's all on their website. But Grand Old Days is
what day? This year? It is on Sunday eight to six, okay,
because I saw someone else post it and they said Saturday,
and I was like, Grand Old Days has never been
on Saturday, so I was very confused. Yeah, okay, so
that's Sunday. Yes, I've been a Grandled Days a handful
of times. It's always a good time. It's literally all
of Grand is shut down. You walk into the shops,

there's food trucks everywhere. There's bands, I mean there's beer
gardens too, so a lot of stuff going on.

My next door neighbor actually is in the band Cactus
Blossoms and their headlining.

those five days again.

Number five was Turtlefest at French Regional Park on Sunday.
Number four is the plant swap going on at the
Dina Library. Number three is Musical Mondays at Lush on
Monday night. The Northeast Vintage Block Party is on Saturday,
and Grandall Day is on Sunday.

of the week, but on Friday we allow him to
be nice. So yeah, so we're gonna do a little
vants feel Good Friday.

Yes, Today's feel Good Friday story starts off a little sad,
actually very sad. Two days imagine two days before your
wedding with the love of your life. And your wedding,
first of all, wasn't even gonna be out of the country.
You were gonna do something small, but your husband got
a promotion, so you said, screw it, let's go wild,
let's go to Hawaii. And then two days before the wedding,
everything goes to shambles and you guys break up. I'd

be so upset, obviously because the heartbreak, but the money too,
like your the wedding and the honeymoons.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Well that didn't stop this woman.

Speaker 5 (07:02):
She said, you know what, as much as this sucks,
I paid for a lot of this stuff, so I
kind of have to go through with it. She went
on the honeymoon by herself to Hawaii. She said she
had everything pre booked. She was worried that she'd lose
money because they were like couples things that she probably
paid for, you know, like a massage or like certain
excursions that were couples things. Yeah, she said, in Hawaii,
they were so sweet. They gave her a refund, but

she said she cried the entire flight there. Oh, obviously
too well. She said she got off the flight in
Hawaii and everything changed the minute she turned her phone
back on, she got a text from her dad. Her
dad said, sweetheart, I don't want you to be there alone.
I'm coming to Hawaii in two days. So her dad
flew all the way to Hawaii.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Now, mind you, her dad's like sixty eight.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
And she was like, but Dad, you have like weight issues,
you have diabetes, you just had a toe removed. She
actually said that I didn't make that up. You can't
sit on a plane that long. One of the flights
is six hours. But her dad said, I don't care.
You dodged the bullet and I'm gonna come celebrate with you.
So two days later, she had to go through like
two days by herself, like being upset about the breakup,
but her dad came and they had the time of

their life on this honeymoon.

Which is weird to say about your.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Dad, Yeah, a little bit, but good.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
It was so sweet.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
She posted it on TikTok like that everything that she
was going through, and she went real viral. She posted
if you've seen the video, it's her dad coming out
of the airport, says, when your heart broke in on
what was supposed to be your honeymoon in Hawaii. So
your dad flies twenty five hundred miles to hang out
with you. Oh dad, right, shout out to First of all,
this dad, screw the supposed to be a husband. I
don't know what the reason they broke up was. I

kind of wish I knew, because it's gonna be crazy.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yeah, because I'm nosy.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
Yeah, but also you break up two days before a wedding, right, what.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
The hell has I know? And you see, I feel
like stories of this of people who still go on
their honeymoons and stuff, And there's a country song called
Drunk on a Plane that's basically entire Yeah, like the
entire scenario of that. And I seriously question how people
are able to still go on these honeymoons and not
be like depressed the whole time.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
I probably, I'm just I think it compartmentalized to a
fault where I would go on the honeymoon anyway, I'd
be like, well, I'm gonna have.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
Fun by myself.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
No, But you got to really put yourself in a scenario,
like you're you thought this man was going to be your.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Husband, just a general.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
You were probably spending every day with that person, and
then all of a sudden, nothing nada. You had all
these couple things planned and then you look over and
oh it's empty. Oh look there's nobody on this side
of the bed next to me. I don't know. I
think it'd be really hello, Mam Miranda.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
No guess why. I don't think you're about you.

Speaker 5 (09:34):
I think that sucks just for somebody to ghost you,
even if you don't have plans to get married.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
But now like you were going to.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
Be tied together, tied the knot two in two days,
all that changes.

Yeah, but christ she made the most of it.

She did.

I'm happy that she had her dad come and yeah,
Bailey would probably have Mam Miranda. Yeah, I would probably
call my mom to who would you bring vant?

I would cry. I'm just crying in my bedroom. I'm
not going no.

Yeah, see, I'm too cheap though to not go, Like
I'll cry the whole time. But I'm still going on
the trip.

I'm going especially to think about how hot I've gotten
before my my wedding. Yeah, I'm not wasting that in
my home. I'm going to go on a hot vacation
period and you never know who you might find. Yeah,
you might find the next love of your life. Yeah,
Nick Carter could be there, so you gotta go, Harter.

Honestly, Aaron Carter was the first thing. And he died

That's like, how did it happen? Let's learn this? This

No, I'd be so pissed if my if I was
trapped and a kid started singing.

you off the plane. I just abort the plane goodbye.
A couple of things local story so I talked about
on my radar I don't know how long ago. It's
a local soda shop in Maple Grove. It's literally called
Soda Sota. It's a dirty soda shop. So they have
different like.

I'm sorry, a dirty soda shop, that's.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
If they call themselves. And I thought it was like liquor.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
But they put things like different fruits or like vanilla flavor. Yeah,
different searups and actual fruits or whatever. It's so good
and refreshing, especially on the day like this. They have
a location in Maple Grove. They just announced one at
the Southdale Centerinie Dinah, and yesterday they announced that they're
opening one here in the West End Saint Louis Park.

Is oh cool and I think it's I think it's
so dangerous because it's so good. It's right there now,

Which is really good. I'm excited about that. Another story,
this is actual more dirt. So Eddie Murphy was on
Jennifer Hudson and Jennifer Hudson's been catching some flak because
her interviewing skills are questionable. So Eddie Murphy was on
her show talking about how his kid and Martin Lawrence's
kid got married, which is so funny because those two
are that dynamic duo.

or doesn't ask or doesn't listen to the questions.

Yeah, we're in lawss. He don't have to pay for
the big wedding.

I didn't. They didn't have a wedding. Oh no, it happened,
so you heard it right. So the first question was
are you going to sing? And he said no.

They went off, and he talked about that for like
good five ten seconds.

They want to do their own thing. Jennifer repeats, so
did you sing for the wedding? I just told you
I wasn't there.

She kind of sounds like she's so caught up in
making sure she knows what her next question is.

Yeah, she's not listening.

She's not listening to what. And that's what, like, the
mark of a bad interviewer is someone who can't be
conversational with the person and make sure that they're going
off like almost riffing off of what the person is saying. Yeah,
So dang, Jennifer, you start paying attention, yeah, or prepping
a little bit better for these interviews.

And then earlier this week, we played a clip she
was interview with Kesha and Kesha said she was an
extra and dream Girls, which is pretty much Jennifer Hudson's movie,

What true were Yeah? And then then Kesha kept going
on about like this.

was in. Nothing, So it's just like, are you actually listening?

let you know of a few other things happening in
the Twin Cities this weekend. Grand Old Days is happening
on Sunday. That's where basically a big block party takes
over Grand Avenue, so all day Sunday. In Saint Paul,
Flint Hill's Family Festival Weekend is happening in Friday and
Saturday at Rice Park and the Ordway in Saint Paul.

Hanna Beinfest is Saturday two to seven at Washburn Oaks Park.
Eden Prairie Schooner Days is happening Friday through Sunday at
Round Lake Park, and Waterfest at Lake Fallon Pavilion is
happening Saturday starting at eleven am. So we've got those details.
