Speaker 1 (00:01):
Let's meet Amanda. Amanda, tell us how you know the wish.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
E So it would be Dan Patton. That's who I
have worked with for about ten years. Okay, but we
are going to grab the wish to Tara and his girls.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Okay, gotcha. We'll find out all about the wish. If
you're new here and you're not sure what Christmas wish is, Basically,
it's a chance to help out somebody who's gone through
something just awful, just like very challenging or awful or
or sad, and they just need some help financially and
they need some love. And that's what we're here to do.
(00:45):
Let's check in, is it? Is it our boy Brandon
on the phone last day? Give it up for Brandon, everybody, right.
He is like just selflessly delivered all of these Christmas wishes.
And some of them are just like a basket full
of like gift cards or whatever. And some of them
is like a washer and dryer that he hoists onto
(01:05):
his back and carries up four flights of stairs at
the same time. I'm like, Brandon, do one at a time.
He's like, no, I got this Brandon from college muscle movers.
Thanks for doing what you do, Brandon. Of course you
have big plans for the holidays.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Brandon, I do have that back home. Well, back home.
Back home is Rochester. It's beautiful out there.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Well, Brandon, thanks for what you do, and thanks to
everyone at College Muscle Movers. One of us on the
show might be making a move soon and we'll get
a hold of College Muscle Movers to make that move.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
So stay. But thank you, Brandon. We appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Let's call Tara right now and do the wish here
on Katie able to do b and we'll find out
what everything is all about, because right now you don't
know because a man has not told us what the
wish is all about. But you're going to find that
out in a second. But there's kids involved. We get
little kids involved, a five year old and a seven
year old and a dog named Remy.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yes, okay, top line name, top line. Here we go.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Let's a call and see if we can get Tearent
on the phone live Christmas wish.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
The suspense is always right. Oh, your call has been
overted to an automated voice messaging system. Worry six, Why
I got this? I got this?
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Okay, we'll try it again, because sometimes we you know
they not a lot of people answer the phone from
an unknown number, So we'll try it again. Make sure
we got the right number, because remember, Christmas Wish is live.
We could record Christmas Wish and edit out all the
little fumbles and stumbles, But then I think that kind
of takes away kind of the magic magic. I don't
think we record anything on this show. Don't we do
(03:01):
everything live on?
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Yes, we do at four forty three in the afternoon.
Then I supposed to say that, Oh, don't say that.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Say okay, we'll try Tara again, and remember, if Tarah
doesn't answer, we'll send Brandon over from the college. Muscle
Movers answered the open the door. Hello, there she is. Hello, Tara,
It's Dave Ryan on the radio at k d w B.
(03:29):
Oh my gosh, Tara, have you got a minute for
us to talk on kt WB?
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Okay, Tara, you might send No, you are not the
first person on Christmas Wish this year to ask that one,
but we would like to send a dozen roses. Who
do you want to send those roses to? No, I'm kidding, Tarah.
I'm glad we could make you smile this morning. Something
else can make a smile. Here is Amanda.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Say hi, Amanda, Hi, Tara, Hi, you did answer the phone.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
What are you doing to me?
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Some people guess, but some people don't. We are here
to grant a Christmas wish that Amanda has made for you.
And if you've got a minute, Amanda would like to
take a second and read the wish that she wrote
to us that made us say, okay, we want to
help out Tara and her family. So whenever you are ready, Amanda, Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
My name is Mandy and I'm writing on behalf of
my coworker and friend, Dan Patten. I've worked alongside Dan
for the last ten years, and more recently in twenty twenty,
we became neighbors. In May of twenty twenty twenty five,
Dan was rushed to the hospital after suddenly falling ill.
What was initially believed to be routine illness was devastatingly
(04:51):
diagnosed as a rare flesh eating bacterial infection. Dan spent
one hundred and fourteen long days in the ICU and
during countless procedures fighting for his life, but he had
his family by his side every step of the way.
Despite his strength, prayers and hope, Dan passed away in
(05:11):
early September, at just thirty nine years old. Dan spoke
about his family constantly. Every conversation included stories about his
wife Tara, his daughters, Maddie and Riley, and or his
new puppy, Remy. Everything he did was for them. This
Christmas will be incredibly difficult for their family. Tara is
(05:35):
carrying an unimaginable loss, will continuing to show up every
day to keep the life feeling as normal as possible
for her girls. Maddie and Riley are facing their first
Christmas without their dad, which is something no child should
ever have to experience so young. I'm hoping you might
bring some light into their lives this Christmas, a reminder
(05:58):
that they are surrounded by love from their community, from
Dan's work family who will never forget him. Thank you
for everything you do to bring hope to families who
need it most.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
My gosh, I can't imagine the first Christmas with you
and the little girls, both girls.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Without Dan. A year ago.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Life was normal, and life was hectic and crazy but wonderful.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Right.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Yep, yeah, And I mean it's just such an odd,
horrible thing to a flesh eating bacteria one hundred and
fourteen days. They probably thought at the beginning that it
could be treated with antibiotics.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
I'm guessing, well, it was pretty intense.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
But okay, I can't even imagine, and I won't get
too personal into that, but I'm just so sorry for
such a horrible and hard loss. And now there's the
challenges of, you know, being a single parent, and there's
the challenges of i'm sure finances and bills and one
less income. So what Christmas wish does, Tara, is just
(07:09):
want to we want to help you out, like you know,
with just showing you some love and support from your
co workers and from your friends and people who listen
to Kato w to B. Let's start off with the
little girls. Riley is seven years.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Old, right she is. Yes, we got some things that's
put in her stocking.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
We got like lipsmackers, lip balms, and we got a
bunch of things that won't fit in her stocking, like
We've got like barbies, and we got a Crayola art
set with a bunch of markers, and and we got
I guess she likes art. She likes art and likes
to paint things like that. Oh yeah, okay, well we've
got neon paints and paint brushes. We got her a beanbag, chair,
(07:50):
leg warmers, hair bows types, just a bunch of stuff,
like a bunch of girly stuff. So that's for Riley.
Tell me about Maddie. How old Maddie.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Matti's five.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
And for Maddie, we got her again a bunch of
just stalking stuff for stuff, and and just some fun
kid stuff and just things to put it or stock
in it underneath the tree so she'll have just somewhat
extra joy this year.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Remy is your dog.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
And we know that Dan loved Remy, right, he also
loved the girls, but he loved Remy.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
What kind of dog is Remy.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
She's a black Lab.
Speaker 1 (08:38):

(08:58):
