call Shane in a second. Here, Margi've been listening to
Kati Will you be for a long time?

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yes, since I was about probably fourteen.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Did you ever call in and request Backstreet Boys or
in sac or anything like that?

Speaker 2 (00:39):
I won Billie Eilish tickets? Oh did you?

Speaker 1 (00:42):
How did you win Billy Billy Elish tickets?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
By remembering Jamie Jameson? Oh?

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Yes, what take a tag?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
I get to take a table?

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah, my gosh, look at you. Wow. Some memories with
Katie w B. And now here you are for Christmas Wish. Yes,
brand We had Brandon on the phone from College Muscle
Movers and somehow we lost the phone call drop. But
College Muscle Movers is delivering the wish, and we're gonna
get started right now by calling your son, Shane, to

(01:14):
put him on the radio and let him know that
we're granting Mom's Christmas wish.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Okay, so let's do this right now. I believe.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
So this is the point where it's like, well, how
do you know this person?

Speaker 3 (01:33):
But obviously this is your son. You've known him his
whole life. I ask you, yes, how old is he now?

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Twenty seven?

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Twenty seven?

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Okay, got it? Good times? I love being twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yeah, you can watch this on YouTube Dave Ryan's show
on YouTube. I heard a phone ring? Shane? Are you there?
Did hear a phone ring? You're gonna try it again, Shane?
Are you there? Let's try it again?

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Okay, this is how it goes when we call people live. Listen.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
If someone is calling me at seven twenty in the morning,
I'd probably be sleeping if I wasn't working. I'm definitely
not answering that because I don't know why they were.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Automated.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Okay, it looks like someone's calling back, Hello, Katie, would
be this, Shane? Do you have them on?

Speaker 2 (02:32):
All your brands are one?

Speaker 1 (02:33):
All the buttons are on? Yeah? Okay, I'm gonna try
him one more time and then we're gonna put Brandon
into action your branding and go to the front.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
This is the suspense suspenses. Does Brandon live with you
or does he live on his own? Shane? O'm sorry, Yes,
he lives on his own, gotcha brand?

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yes, I'm looking at ringing again.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Some names involved in this. This is the one. Your
call has been forwarded to it.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
He's probably now annoyed that some strange number is calling
him this early in the morning. Yo, Brandon, my hero.
Not all heroes wear capes. Welcome to the show, Brandon
from College Muscle Movers. Hi, Brandon's good morning, Brandon. You're
gonna have to get out of the nice, warm, cozy
truck and walk over to Shane's front door and ring
the doorbell and let him know that we need to
talk to him on Katie be Okay, sounds good. This

(03:28):
is the backup plan. By the way, I'll take this
moment while we're stalling here for a second to say
thank you to Holiday Station Stores for helping out with wishes.
And they're donating a portion of all gasoline sales to
Christmas Wish So if there's a gas station over here
and one over here. One's a holiday pull into the
holiday to fill up. Yeah, that helps us out and
we definitely want to help holiday. Also, college muscle movers.

(03:52):
If you're moving and you need somebody to load all
your stuff and you're going to carry a refrigerator in
your couch, don't do it yourself.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
They'll do it for you.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
They also provide fifteen free muscle boxes, which that's what
they call them, muscle boxes, their boxes, and they also
have an on time guarantee with every move.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
I'm a kb ok w B Y come hello.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Hello, is this Shane.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Listen?

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Hey Shane, It's said Dave Ryan on the radio. I'm
with your mom Margo over at KDWDB. Say hi, Margo, Margo,
say hi, Hi.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Hello.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
You probably have no idea why we're calling you, but
I can explain it to you. We do something on KTWDB.
Your mom nominated you and your boys for a KDWB
Christmas wish. Yeah, and so we're on the radio right
now on KTWDB. That was us calling you a minute
ago because your mom is going to read a letter

(04:51):
that she wrote to us to nominate you to make
your Christmas a little bit brighter. Okay really okay, okay,
So Mom, Margo, when you ready read the letter that
you wrote.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
On a seven okay, thank you.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
This year I felt so helpless as a parent to
my son Shane. Christmas time has been extremely depressing and
hard for him since losing his son, who was born
in just six days before Christmas in twenty eighteen. I
remember the phone call from Shane. It was December eighteenth
and it was his birthday. He was so excited that
his son might share the same birthday as him.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
It was close.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Baby James was born about four hours into the next day.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
What a great birthday and Christmas gift for Shane.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Unfortunately, baby James had gotten sick with meningitis and passed
away a few short days of seven months old. Shane
had some pretty bad months after his passing, and especially
each December when it's his birthday and then Christmas. It's
a constant reminder of the loss of his son, and
it takes everything Shane has to bring the Christmas spirit
to his boys, Jerome, aged seven, and Lucas who's three

(05:57):
and a half. Shane is a single father in Jerome
and Lucas by himself and the only parent who has
provided financially for the boys. Shane lost his job this
year rate before Thanksgiving and did not know how he
was going to pay rent or give his boys Christmas.
He has been applying for jobs and has had limited options.
The challenges to being a single parent is finding a

(06:18):
job with a schedule that will work with the kids'
schedule and the special services Lucas will need as he
was recently diagnosed with some special needs and has cognitive
delays and will require therapy and special schooling.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
This is a lot to.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
Handle for one person, and the stress of providing for
your children and the memories of your child who passed
before their time.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
The pressure to show up and.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
Be excited about the holidays because everyone else loves Christmas
wears on Shane. This year, Katie w b will help
take away some of the stress of being able to
give the kids amazing Christmas, being able to be present
and excited during the holiday season.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
I love you, Shane. You are my firstborn son.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
You're a resilient and I want you to know I'm
proud of you and you will find your way and
be a role model to your son's Merry Christmas thank you.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
You're welcome, Shane.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
I'm so sorry to hear about little baby James who
was only seven months old when he passed away. Yeah,
and he was born on December I want to say
nineteenth was his birthday, one day after your birthday and
you were so excited.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Yes, I was.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
And this time of the year, when that birthday rolls around,
it's kind of a reminder, a little nudge that you know,
that painful memory. I'm sure, yeah it is. And you've
got two boys that are at some they're a fun age,
they can be a challenging age. Seven years old and

(07:48):
that's Jerome, and then three and a half years old
is Lucas. Where are the boys right now?

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Lucas is in my bedroom sleep and then Jerome's out
here on the couch watching TV.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Hi, Jerome, he's watching it Time for us right now.
So moms wish for you and this I can definitely
feel the mother's love during this wish because this we
don't often get moms nominating sons or children's it's usually
like their children. It's usually you know, a coworker or

(08:23):
somebody you go to church with her, a friend or
something like that. But we want to help out your family, uh,
and take some of the financial pressure off here. We
know that. You know, we're not gonna spend a lot
of time talking about it, but you're not getting any
financial support from the mother's right, No, sir, no, So
let's help this family out. Let's start off with Jerome
and he's gonna be very excited. You don't have to.

(08:43):
You can tell him now, or you can save it
for later, whatever you want. We got a bunch of
stuff for him. We got everything from We got a
Nike soccer ball. We got a Miami jersey, a messy
Miami jersey. What does that even mean? What does that mean?

Speaker 2 (08:59):
One of the favorite soccer players?

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Acha, Okay, hey gotcha. We got a car Lego set,
Pokemon trading cards. We got a PlayStation five soccer game, sweatshirts, sneakers,
Nike hat and mittens. And we got a twenty dollars
gift card to Great Clips to cover your next haircut.
Thanks everybody, get Great Clips for that donation. So Jerome's
gonna get his haircut where I get my haircut over

(09:23):
a Great Clips. Cool. Lucas is still in bed, but
we got some stuff for Lucas as well, just a
bunch of toys and this will kind of take some
pressure off of you, dad, so you don't have to
do all the toy shopping. We had everything from a
bunch of Matchbox cars, a Spider Man remote control car, Legos,
Shwin training wheels, bike jeans, khakis, clothes, a Dinosaur sweater,

(09:45):
snow boots and mittens, and we got to again another
twenty dollars gift card to Great Clips. And we also
heard that Lucas needs a big boy bed. Is he still?
Is he sleeping with you because he needs a big
boy bed? Right? Yes, well we got him a big
boy bed. We ordered a twin mattress and frame set.
It'll be delivered to your home, so Margot, you're gonna

(10:06):
have to go over and help load that exactly. Yes.
And then for you dad, we got some things just
to say thanks for being a great dad and doing
your best under the circumstances. Let's start off with Columbia
work boots, a Target winter coat and snowpants, car heart
beanie and gloves, some jeans and joggers, and then one

(10:26):
hundred and one dollar gas card from Holiday Station Stores.
The Christmas Wish is presented by Holiday Station source for
every fuel purchase now through December seventeenth, which is what
next Monday, I want to say. Holiday Station Stores donated
a portion to Christmas Wish one hundred dollars gift card
to Broadway Pizza. Take the family out to Broadway Pizza.
You gotta feed these kids. So we're gonna give you

(10:48):
a three hundred dollars Cub Foods gift card that should
help stock the fridge for a little while. What a
kids that age love to eat SpongeBob, mac and cheese.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Yeah, fruit snacks, pizza.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Peoples lunchibles good and then to get things around the house,
whatever you need that we might have missed. We've got
a one thousand dollars for you, one thousand dollars Visa
gift card that spends like cash. Yeah, I think about that.
Didn't expect that this morning when you woke up, did
you no?

Speaker 3 (11:18):
WHOA?

Speaker 1 (11:19):
But there's one more because we wanted to do something
with the family that you can enjoy some time together
and and make those memories with the boys. So we
get a one year family membership to the YMCA and
we'll find the one closest to you. You go down there,
you do whatever activities they have and the y is
so awesome create some memories with the boys. Thanks to

(11:41):
Jen and everybody at the YMCA for this very generous donation,
give the gift that truly keeps on given. Clark considers
spending a little extra cheer spreading a little extra cheer
and generosity this holiday season with a donation to the
y community that matters most to you. That is YMC
a YMC A North dot org. So all that is

(12:01):
for you and the guy that came to your door
is Brandon from College Muscle Movers, and he's going to
give you all of these things that your mom and
the rest of us wanted to get for you and
the boys for Christmas.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Okay, thank you so much. This means a lot.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Well, I'm glad we finally got you on the phone.
I know that we're little hesitant at first, like who's
calling this early? But you know, from the bottom of
our heart, we're so sorry about little baby James. And
I can't imagine that is, you know, just something that
you just never really quite get over over the years.
But hopefully this will take some of the you know,
take some of that pain and make you all a

(12:36):
little bit more happy during Christmas.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
That truly means a lot. He went bove and beyond.
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
We're happy to do it, and thank you Margo.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
You're welcome.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
And I'll let you say goodbye to uh to Shane
right now.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Goodbye, Shane, love you.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
I hope this helps and there is Christmas Wish on
one on one point three k d WB again thanks
to Treasure Island Resort and Casino for all their help.
Youth Link Your Gift Your Wish donations are tax deductible
thanks to youth Link Choice Bank where we store all
of our money, College muscle movers, Holiday station stores and
