Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning, this day, Ryan in the Morning show, Girl
Group Friday, and we've waited this long, so we're just
gonna kick it right off the ultimate girl group of
all time. And now I'm not going with the most
popular one because I wanted one that is a little
bit more hype because it's Friday morning. Yeah, it is hype.
So I'm sure you already guess it. It's Spice Girls.
We're kicking it off with Spice Up you live.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
I see.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Yeah, Now you can go ahead and Texas and let
us know which Spice Girl you were growing up, because
I know a lot of millennials listen to the show. Yes,
and everyone was a Spice Girl. Hot, that's my favorite one.
I was, of course Baby Spice made I had the
blonde hair. Yeah, so you know, we had a group
of five of us. We each had our role. I
was Baby Spice. Representation matters exactly. All right, We're going
to continue on with the Girl Group Friday right after
(00:44):
we get into War of the Roses. But we want
you to text in your suggestions. We want to know
what you want to hear today. It is up to you,
and it's up to me, and it's up to Bailey
and nobody else, nobody else except if you're listening and
your boy. You are allowed. You are allowed, and you
can text us what you want to know or what
you want to listen to. But you can also leave
us talkbacks if you wanna. We would love to hear
your voice, so leave us a talkback on the talkback feature.
(01:05):
Go to the iHeartRadio app, hit the red microphone button
and you've got a few seconds, and tell us which
song you want to hear. Let us know your name,
and if you want to tell us a little story
behind why you love that song, you can go ahead,
or you can just be like, yo, I want to
hear some black pink, Yeah, I love K pop. Yeah,
that's all we need. Okay, that's all we need.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
And then we get to hear your voice about it,
bing about a boom. Girl group Friday, all right, first.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
War of the Roses and then we will continue on
with the girl group songs coming up next. All right,
it's girl group Friday Day Ride in the morning show
on KDWB. We are going to continue with more girl
group songs. We'll stop in and do a little day
start here and there, sprinkle on a little bit of
us chit chatting. You want to hear from us? Yeah,
but we'll mostly be doing girl group songs and we
dig your to get a request for one of my favorites.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Well, my name is Sandy and I would really really
like to hear he loves Do Not Fight. Dream Dream
was so underrated they deserved better.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
I fully I agree, very underrated. He's a great song.
It's a scream along song. So here we go dream
he Loves You Not on gro group Friday on Katie
w B Go grop Friday on the Dave Bryan in
the Morning Show. Please send us a talkback or a
text or whatever you want to hear this morning. That's
(02:20):
Bailly and I taken over. So we thought, why not
play a bunch of girl group songs all morning long?
But we are going to do a little Dave's Dirt
here quick from Hollywood's biggest celebrities to the latest gossip
at Channel four. It's Dave Dirt on kat WB. So
some pretty sad news came out yesterday. Kelly Clarkson's ex
husband has passed away. Apparently he's been battling cancer for
(02:44):
more than three years and he passed away peacefully surrounded
by his family. Kelly said, we thank you for your
thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's
privacy during this time, or a representative said that, so
you know, they had kids together. Kelly has been out
from her show back in the springtime, and then she
had just canceled, like two days ago, she had canceled
(03:06):
her Vegas residency for the month of August, but said
she would be back after that. So, I mean, she
spoke on saying that he was sick at that point,
and I guess, you know, obviously we didn't know how
bad it was, and apparently it was bad, and rightfully so,
like it's obviously nobody's business, especially when they're dealing with
something so hard as cancer. So that makes a lot
(03:28):
of sense. Not that Kelly doesn't get to take a
break if she needs to, but so that's pretty sad.
On a brighter note, a great, great, great movie is
coming out today. It's called Freaky or Friday.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
My friend Sarah saw it and she saw it like
they did, you know, a special preview or whatever. She
got to see it, and she said she like literally
called me after and she's like, hey, if you would
want to go see that I would go see it
again because that's as.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Good it was. Right. Well, she said, like if.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
You are especially like a millennial or gen z who
really liked Freaky Friday, you're gonna love Freak Youre Friday.
She's like, it's the most perfect, like nostalgic, it's like fun,
all of that.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
She thinks you should watch Freaky.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Friday first, just for the vibe to like, yeah, and
enhance the vibes for Freaky or Friday.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
But she said she loved it. I love that. So
Freak Your Friday is out. It's expected to earn at
least thirty million dollars. And whether Freak Your Friday or
another movie called Weapons, those are in the running to
be number one. So Weapons is an R rated horror film.
Pass on that one, yep. But Freaking Your Friday is
obviously the sequel. You would say sequel, yeah, because it's afterwards.
(04:37):
I never know anymore. There's prequelses that come out, like
I don't know which one is which.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Yeah, you'll be thrilled to hear this, Jenny, maybe because
you're on you know the dating prowl.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Jacob Elordi is single. Well, he was dating someone I apparently.
I don't think I knew that.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Yeah, he was dating Olivia Jade, who apparently since twenty
twenty one, so he's been with her for a hot minute,
but not anymore. So he's on the market for you, Jenny,
and or me, but likely you.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Because I think he likes a blonde mane.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
So that's exciting, and maybe he'll be out and about
and we'll get I don't know, some more paparazzi pictures
of him, because that dude is foyt he.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Is he's so tall to he is tall and almost
to a detriment. Yeah, Like it's all like when you
really have to crank your neck up to like kiss somebody,
it's like you get a criok in your neck. I'll
tell you that's short. Yeah, but I've dated people who
are six to seven, yes.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
And sometimes when there's seven seven yeah ro famously, Jacob
Elordi is seven to seven.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Okay, So miss Rachel, speaking of dating terms, apparently she
ghosted somebody and it was a massive pop star. Here
she was talking about it.
Speaker 5 (05:45):
I was like, wow, this person has so many followers.
And then I was like, this is such a cute
little profile picture because it's a drawing, no idea as
some but I asked people who are around.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
I was like, do you know who this is? And yeah,
I realized those Rihanna, she didn't know who.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
I feel like, if you go to here now, I'm
because literally I want to look up like Rihanna's Instagram page.
But if yeah, her her profile picture is literally a
drawing that like a kid maid and her tag is
bad gallee re.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
So like it's a little confused. How would you know?
But she's got to have the blue check mark, right,
she does have a blue check mark.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
She's one hundred and forty nine million followers, which is
a lot.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
But you can pay for the blue check mark now,
So like sometimes when I see that, I'm always like
especially when I have like that official twelve followers. Yeah,
like day he pays for him to which should be fair.
He should have one, He should be approved to have
his own blue check mark. But for some reason, Instagram
is just so weird. Sometimes I don't know what it
takes to get one. But yeah, me neither. But speaking
(06:48):
of Instagram, so I don't know if this is a
new feature or if it's just starting to go viral.
That people are talking in the new feature. Yeah, okay,
like brand new. I'm gonna tell you about something that
you should go to your Instagram and do if you
do not want people knowing your location, because there is
like a location sharing tool in your settings now. So
if you go to your settings, there's a little tab
(07:10):
that says story, Live and Location. Once you click that
and you go to location Sharing, it'll show you a
map and it'll literally show you whether or not you're
sharing your location. I was when I found out about this,
which means when I'm active on Instagram, people were being
able to see where I am. Yeah, like exactly where
which are in my bed at home? At all times?
(07:32):
They're like, she hasn't moved, how weird? Is she alive?
So I would recommend, because I am not about having
my location out there, to do that. And I'll go
through the steps once again. So you go to your
settings on Instagram. So you go to those like three
lines in the right hand corner. You'll scrow down a
little bit and there's one that says story, Live and Location.
(07:52):
You click that and then you click location Sharing and
it'll give you the option to turn off sharing your location,
which I promptly did because I just find that to
be I just find it to be so creepy. And
where did we agree upon it?
Speaker 3 (08:04):
We did?
Speaker 1 (08:05):
We probably said yes, I agree to all these terms
at one point of the three hundred page agreement.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Yeah, we're like, we agree to these terms and any
terms that have yet to come out, including any and
all location terms, plus you know, face sharing. At some point,
they're going to share our faces with you know, monkeys
in a in the basement somewhere who's running Instagram, and
we're gonna be like, know what happened?
Speaker 1 (08:28):
I don't know. That was a tangent think, Yeah, I
loved it coming with me. Okay, So that'll do for
Dave's Dirt. We are going to continue on with the
girl group Friday coming up next, but I want to
remind you that we are still doing two for Tait.
So when you hear two Tate McCray songs in a row.
In between those two songs, you'll hear a keyword, You're
gonna go to the talkback feature on the iHeartRadio app
and say that keyword into the talkback feature, and then
(08:49):
we're gonna pick a winner. So just keep listening for
that all morning long, but next we will continue on
with girl group songs. You can also leave us a
talkback if you want to hear a specific one, so
go ahead and do that. Text us, call us whatever
you want to do. We'd love to hear your voice.
It is the day ride in the morning show. We're
doing Girl Group Friday and we want to just keep
it rolling. We had so many texts come in for
(09:10):
the Pussycat dolls, so we thought we we might as
well do it. It's don't chat on Katie w B.
Speaker 6 (09:16):
Okay, Okay, that fades out really really Strangely, I was
not expecting that it's Girl Group Friday on Katie w B.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Thank you so much for all the texts coming in.
We just got to talk back for this one.
Speaker 7 (09:31):
Hi, Bailey and Jenny, this is l My request is.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
From Bewitch. Yes, yes, I used to listen to their
CD and play roller Coaster Tycoon and my baby.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
Roller Coaster Tycoon, and your little people would throw up.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
On the ground.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
Your little janitors have to go pick it up.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
All right, I'll here you go, but Witch say love.
Bailey got a clog so out started to jigging to
it as I did in there. She was like, it's
start a breakdown. It missed out. Someone texted in and
they go. Best choice ever. I will be late for
daycare drop off and work, but it was worth it
for this. I love it all right, We're gonna continue on.
(10:15):
Like I said, you can send us your text message,
text messages requests, or you can send us a talk
back if you'd like that as well. We have so
many fun songs coming up. Stay here. Kd WB Bailey
wanted to hear this song, and so does someone else.
Is Friday? Does Hunting sound as a girl group? We
(10:38):
can play the song Golden.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Oh hell yeah. This is from K pop demon Hunters.
If you've not seen this movie yet, it is on Netflix.
And this song is literally number two on the Billboard
Hot one hundred and it's from a movie that's not
real girl group, but they are real enough to play.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
I love that. Okay. So they're called the Tricks Un
Tricks and the song is called Golden on girl Group Friday.
And make sure you keep listen because we're still doing
two for takes. If you hear two Tate McCray songs
in a row, you could win tickets to her concert.
It's Katy w B. That's a great song. I Jenny.
(11:13):
I know it's not your vibe to watch that movie.
It's not, but you have to watch it. Honestly. It
doesn't have to be hot and human out today, right,
I don't have anything to do inside and like everyone,
I mean, you know how like Aladdin was hot.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
He's a cartoon, like everyone in K pop Demon Hunters
is hot.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
But they're all cartoons, okay, But like.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
It's it is a good movie, like objectively a good movie,
and like I'm not like a K pop like queen
kind of person. I just was like, well, I heard
this is good. I guess I'll watch it. Amazing movie. Yeah,
it's so good.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
I love it. That's from the movie. It's called Hunt.
It's called Golden by Hunt Tricks.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Hunter Tricks is the girl group in the movie K
Pop Demon Hunters now on Netflix.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
So it is girl group Friday on the Day Ryan Show.
We are going to continue with the girl group songs.
But first I'm gonna play this one. And if you
know something called two for Tate, you might want to
pay attention right now because this is Tate McCray and
she is about to be in town in less than
a week. So if you hear a keyword after this,
make sure you have your talkback feature ready and you
enter that keyword for a chance to win tickets to
(12:13):
see her. Okay, that's two Tate McCray songs in a row,
which means you know what to do by now, I think. Yeah,
make sure you go to the talkback feature on the
iHeartRadio app and enter in that keyword that you heard
between the two songs, and we're going to continue on
with Girl Group Friday. I will say that there's a
lot of text coming in. If you get a random
phone call from a number, it might be me calling
(12:35):
you to be like, hey, do you want to be
on the radio so we can say what you want
to hear. So I just try to call someone. Unfortunately
they didn't answer, but they want to hear Tattoo, which
if you've never heard this song, yes, you're gonna be
like what is this? But if you have heard this song,
it's gonna unlock it be like so many memories. Yes,
it's a good scream sing song too as well. It's
called all the things she said on Girl Group Friday.
(12:56):
On the day of Ryan in the Morning Show all right,
that's tattoo all the things she said on Girl Group
Friday and Kitty w B. We're gonna do a quick
at DAVE'SRT and then we'll get right back into the music.
It's a Dave Ryan Show one on one point three
kd WB. Well, speaking of music, it is New Music Friday,
(13:17):
and there's quite a few songs that are out today.
So first we'll start with some Ed Sheeran. This one's
called a Little More.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Yes, it was song we played just like last week
where I was like, oh, it kind of sounds like
Bruno Mars.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Yeah, I don't know if it was this one or
I don't think it was this one.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
That's what I feel like about this song too. It's
kind of giving the lazy song by it.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Yeah, it's I like it, but it doesn't feel like
you know, radio, Well for it doesn't feel like Ed Shared.
Does you feel like we would play it? It feels
almost like too jazzy, you know?
Speaker 1 (13:49):
But I like it. It just doesn't feel like oh, top
hit radio. I feel you. Jonah's brothers have a new
song out too. No Time to Talk is what this
one's called. Okay, I'm sorry, is this the Beeges, right.
I mean that clearly was Samp, clearly sampled even the same.
But that's in right now and doing that and like
(14:11):
the disco kind of vibe is also I'm glad because.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Bring disco back, and not just the like the music,
but bring back like disc goes so I can go
to one. I am so jealous. My mom used to
go to freaking discos all the time and I never
got to go to Yeah, oh really back in back
in the clurb, I mean, like the clurb back in
the day, you know, only has cornfields. I mean that
is a lot of it, but there are also buildings there,
(14:35):
and some of the buildings played disco music.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Yeah, I love that, all right? What more on New
Music Friday, This is Marshmallow and Jelly Rolls called Holy Water. Okay,
I feel like I'm in a youth group listening to that.
Was like the guy who has like a like a
little bit of an email swept hair and a hat
on over the hair. That's what I'm feeling.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
Wh And now we will perform a little skit to
show you Jesus is love.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Yes, love that. So I watched a movie last night
on Netflix and I don't know how new it is
to Netflix, but it is in the top like ten
right now. And it's called My Oxford Year, Okay, and
it is very sweet. I will is it set in
a year? It sounds like it's it's set it. It's
like the girl. No, it's called My Oxford Year because
she has her whole life planned out. Sure, part of
the plan is to spend one year at Oxford because
(15:25):
she just loves poetry, she loves books, all of that
kind of stuff. So it's all based off of her
year at Oxford. I did cry a lot in that movie.
But I would highly recommend, if you're staying inside this
weekend to beat the heat and looking for something kind
of lovey Dobby, it's definitely more of a chick flick,
check out My Oxford Year. Dude. I love that. We so.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
Selena Gomez was on a podcast recently called Therapus with
Jake Shane Yeah, and she talked about how she became
best friends with Taylor Swift because as teenagers they double
dated with Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
That's cute, like young we all know and love each
other now and it's so cute.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
We didn't know what we were doing.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
But she uh, she and I like to say, the
best thing we got out of those relationships loves each other.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
So Jake's so cute. That is really cute Jake Shane.
He blew up on TikTok. I think first is how
it was what I know him? If I saw him, Yes,
you would, you absolutely would know him. And he blew
up so much. He was even featured. Yes, oh I
know this guy. He was even featured in the latest
season of Hacks. He was like the social media person
for Hacks. And basically, if you've never seen Hacks, it's
this woman who kind of starts to age out as
(16:37):
a comedian and then she in the latest season, she
finally becomes a late night talk show host and it
was really hard for her to get that because it
was all men who did the late night talk shows.
But Jake Shane plays this character as her social media person,
where he's like, all right, I need you to do
this now and I'll do this and she just is
like no, Like you know, it's like she's so like,
what is the social media thing?
Speaker 3 (16:59):
She's really funny TikTok too, because he does the like
recreations of just random things you wouldn't have thought of, like, okay,
you're at the Last Supper and you're you know, descended
not descended. It's the ciple number five, Okay, and then
he just acts it out.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
He's really funny, super super funny guys, So yeah, jump out,
all right, that'll do it for Dasser. It's brought to
you by six Months two Injured Himer and Lamber's Injury Law.
Now back into the music. It's Girl Group Friday. And
this one is for everyone everyone out there who has
an ex that they're like, you know what, I'm better
off now. It's a little mix on Katie w B.
(17:34):
This is a shot up all right? Who turned that
up in their car and jammed to it? I if
we were driving right now, Pally, why I would have
been scream singing that out the window. It's Girl Group Friday.
On the Day, Ryan in the Morning Show, thank you
for everyone texting and suggestions. I have been calling a
couple of you and nobody's answering me, and I feel
like you're ignoring me.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
Did I do something because the first thing you say
is HI, I really wanted to check in about your
car insurance.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
I don't do that. If you answer, I'll be like, hey,
let's see what you want to hear. Play. But if
you are texting us in, feel free to leave your
name with the text so we can give you a
shout out for the song that you want to hear.
And of course this is an older girl group, but
everyone knows it mostly probably because of Bridesmaids the movie,
but also because it's a great song. Wilson Phillips, it's
(18:20):
hold on on girl Group Friday on one on one
point three, Katie w b all right. Someone else said
that song doesn't remind them of Bridesmaids, but actually, Harold
and Kumar, I honestly think I've only seen parts of
that movie, so I don't remember it from them, but
I get it all right. We do need to call
someone right now for the Tate McCree tickets because we
(18:43):
did ever winner. So please if you entered for that contest,
make oh, well that's not the right one, sorry, wrong one.
Hold on, I gotta press a lot of buns. You're
doing really good. Jenny's pushing a lot of buttons.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
She kind of looks like a conductor of a large orchestra.
Thank you, Billy, And I'm just sitting over here, So
I mean, you're doing great. She's dialing in number right
now on a pad that doesn't even look like a phone,
so I couldn't do it all right, answer, this.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Person's gonna answer Hello, Hi, is this Ashley? This is Ashley?
Do you recognize this voice? To recognize this voice? So
miss Jenny, Jenny and Bailey from The Day Ryan Show.
Speaker 6 (19:31):
Guess what what you want to get to tame a cry?
Speaker 4 (19:35):
No way?
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Yes, you did you win today? Congratulations?
Speaker 4 (19:41):
Oh thank you.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
You're so welcome. Do you know who you want to
bring with you to the concert?
Speaker 4 (19:48):
One of my sisters. So if Danielle or Brittany is listening,
whoever texts me first, you're coming with?
Speaker 3 (19:53):
Oh wow, imagine having I mean you can imagine having
two sisters.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
You gotta pick one. Danielle Brady, you guys get on it. Yeah,
well congratulations. Actually have so much fun with whichever sister
texts you first. And Ashley. We are doing girl group Friday,
and we've played quite a few girl group songs already,
but is there one specifically that you haven't heard yet
that you want us to play right now?
Speaker 4 (20:16):
I'm pretty played a non real girl group? Do you
have pink slips in your Oh.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Man, I'm gonna be honest. I don't think so. So
is there How about like I'm gonna throw out some
girl groups? Do you tell me if there's a song
that they sing that you like? Is there anything like
Destiny's Child, Danity Kane, TLC, Spice Girl.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
Let's do something Spice Girls.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
Okay, I did do that already, is it okay? If
we do want to be can we want to be? Yeah? Thanks? Perfect?
This is what it looks like when women work together. Okay,
all right, well, Ashley, you're so Welcome'm gonna get you
on hold and we're gonna get you all set for that.
So hang on. But now, because Ashley, we're playing a
little Spice Girls on Girl Group Friday. Yeah, Spice Girls
(21:13):
on Girl Group Friday on one on one point three
Katy w B. We're gonna keep it going with some
Destiny's Child. We haven't played any yet, and we thought
that this would be one of the best funs Survivor
on Katie w B. Carrie from Zimmerman says, I forgot
how much I love Destiny's Child until I just heard Survivor.
Thank you for paying playing Girl Group Friday. That's what
(21:34):
we're doing. Yeah, all morning, law all morning. You just
said that like a yeah yeah, but still only I'm
gonna play more girl Grip and we're gonna throw it
back a little bit further now with all Saints Never Ever.
On Katie w B Let's Girl Group Friday. On Katie
w B we have someone on the phone who has
(21:54):
a request. Good morning, Tina, how are you? I'm doing great?
Getting ready to run in my neighborhood? Holy wow? Are
you gonna listen on the iHeartRadio app to Girl Group
Friday all morning? And while you do that?
Speaker 4 (22:07):
Definitely?
Speaker 6 (22:07):
Yes, I need a good playlist.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
It's perfect, Okay.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Yeah, I love that. Well, we want to kick off
your run with the best song ever and it's your request,
So what do you want to hear Where the Girls At?
Speaker 4 (22:17):
By seven two?
Speaker 1 (22:18):
All right? Well, good luck on your run and thanks
for listening.
Speaker 7 (22:26):
All right.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
Shout out to Tina about to run a ten k
this morning. She wanted to hear seven on two where
my Girls At? And we've got a lot of requests
for Danny Kane too, So now we're getting right into
damn it. Just Girl Group Friday on katwb S all right,
just a quick PSA. We didn't know that that voice
was going to be in there at the end, so
we apologize for that. This is Girl Group Friday. Okay,
(22:46):
it's Girl Group Friday. We're going to continue on with
a band that also brings up so many memories. And
I've said this already, there was just a phase of
my life where I played Roller Coaster Typhoons. Yeah, and
I listen in the computer room. Yeah, there was a
room specific to the computer and I only ever listen
to Bewitch or TLC. Yes, So those two albums at
(23:06):
that time in the nineties are what reminds me of
Roller Coaster Tycoon and this song specifically, it's no Scrubs
on Girl Group Friday, Go Group Friday and The Day
Ryan in the Morning Show on KATIEWB. We got to
do one quick commercial break, but then we're going to
jump right into the Girl Group songs. You can leave
a talk back of what you want to hear, or
you can text us, or you can call us KATIEWB
(23:27):
one five, three nine to one or six five one,
nine eight nine KATIEWB. All right, it's the Day Ryan
in the Morning Joe with Bailey and Jenny today and
we're doing Girl Group Friday, so we played tons of songs.
They know that there's a lot of requests coming in
for songs, and you know, we've been doing this in
six am, so we have played quite a few of
these songs so far. However, we have not played this
(23:48):
one by the Postcat Dolls, so we'll do this one now.
It's buttons what.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
He and O, Mamma you look like Icy Man?
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Well Pussycat Dolls on Girl Group Friday. On Katie w
B Bailly, do you want to hear some Saltan Pepper? Yes?
I do?
Speaker 2 (24:05):
You do?
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Okay, well, good because we're gonna play it right now,
Saltant Pepper one KWB Girl Group Friday. We're gonna take
a quick break and when we come back, we're gonna
have Stephanie tell us what's going on in the Twin
Cities this weekend. But then we'll get right back into
Girl Group Friday. Feel free to leave a talk back
with what you want to hear. Go to the iHeartRadio app.
It's re download it if you haven't already, Hit that
red microphone button and tell us what you want to
(24:28):
hear for Girl Group Friday. It's one on one point,
Katie w B. We're taking a quick break from girl
Group Friday to do a little update with our good
friends Stephanie. Every single Friday, she always knows what's happening
in the Twin Cities and she comes in to let
us know what's going on this weekend. So, Stephanie, what
do we got? We got a lot.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
I feel bad interrupting all the bangers that are going
but you're a woman and women are supporting women today.
So on Girl group Friday, Yeah, you're girls. Got a
list of five things going on. Number five is more
of a PSA.
Speaker 7 (24:58):
If you have like a staff of clothes that are
your favorites that have rips, tears, missing buttons. There is
a free clothing repair workshop going on tomorrow from eleven
to one at Tear Market, which is in Northeast. They
just show up and there's people standing by with sewing
machines and whatever patches.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
I don't know. Oh that's awesome.
Speaker 8 (25:16):
I've got like a bag full of stuff, but I'm
just like one day so they'll be there to help,
and they do request that you RSVP so they can
be aware it'd be too late in the game.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
But that's going on tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (25:28):
Cool Number four is a summer reading festival put on
by children First. It's a nonprofit but they're having like
free events starting this weekend and going all next week.
Art walk, storytime, concerts, performances and it's all going on
in Saint Louis Park.
Speaker 1 (25:42):
Okay, but there's an ice cream.
Speaker 7 (25:44):
Social on Sunday from two to five and they're gonna
have music and Sebastians Sebastian Joe's ice Cream, which is
the best free books for all the kids who come.
So that's a fun thing to get out and do whatever.
That'll be at the Rock in Saint Louis Park, which
is like their outdoor covered rects are nicing, so yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
And reading makes you smart canonically, yeah.
Speaker 7 (26:03):
Fun Times number three is a five K fun run
at Forgot Star Brewing that's happening tomorrow at eleven. Are
these the Minnesota Brewing Series is of the ones that
you've been to where you've run five.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
I've heard of those ones. I've never done any of those,
but maybe it's one of those. I did have someone
reach out to me at like the beginnings of the
summer about doing them, but I honestly have not running. Whoa,
I'm not awful at running. I just don't run much anymore.
I got a bad knee. Oh yeah, this one is
like not even timed. It's more for fun, just like, hey,
everyone show up. So they have a little like five
k trail, you know, lined up or whatever, and it's
(26:37):
twenty five bucks to get in, which includes like a
first beer and then like an it of them swag
like a pint class or if they have and they
donate a person of their proceeds to local charity.
Speaker 7 (26:45):
So I thought that was pretty cool. But even if
you walk, they don't time it. It's just for Yeah.
That's tomorrow at eleven at FORGTN Star number four, no
number number two, number two. We're going backwards number two.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
All right.
Speaker 7 (26:58):
This is for Renaissances lovers, because it's about to start
in a few weeks. But they're having a mini version
of the Renaissance Festival under Pressure Brewing in Golden Valley
tomorrow pretty much all day at noon too six thirty.
They're going to have maypole dancing, ring jousting, belly dancing classes,
kilt contests, and then a big market of you know
Renaissance Festival goods. Yeah, and they're encouraging costumes, so that
(27:20):
sounds pretty fun if you're itching to get to the Renaissance. Yeah,
a little ani version yeah. And if you've never been there,
it's got like the Renaissance look. It's not like a
typical brewery where it's like, you know, big open, it's
just like kind of cozy. It's kind of like a
Tavernese type look of people. Good people and Renaissance go together.
I don't know that's true, all right. And the number
one I found this one yesterday and I was like,
oh crap, this is the best. So whoever's behind the
(27:42):
park system is inviting people like kayaks, canoers, boaters to
come and it's called float Fest and they're starting it
at the North Mississippi Regional Park, which is just south
of six ninety four, but everyone is supposed to float
down and then you go to Boom Island Park and
they'll have like an after party at Great Co Park,
which is like a new park down there but super
close to Boom Island.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
But you can get.
Speaker 7 (28:02):
Tours at North Mississippi Regional and then there's a paddle
share program where you can like rent a kayak, jump in,
go down to Boom Island and then they take the
kayak from there, so I to worry about coordinating how
to get back get it.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
Yeah, yeah, I remember my tube and days they take
on a bus to the top of the river and
then you float down. Oh I remember those days. Okay.
Speaker 7 (28:23):
And then the after party they'll have live music, food
trucks and this like activity.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
Is going on.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
So that's really nice too, especially because it's supposed to
be like hot, like I want to get my butt
in the water hours. Yeah exactly. Granted, now you said tube,
so I have tube in my brain. But you're in
like a kayak or something. Yeah, probably something a little
faster than a paddle board, but I.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Was gonna say paddle board would be kind of hard
for that distance that Mississippi.
Speaker 7 (28:45):
But I mean, you for like everyone to just be like, hey,
we're out here, we're floating.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Hey, what's up? Yeah, Well that's what I got for you.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Cool.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
What do you want to count them down one more
time for us? Okay?
Speaker 7 (28:56):
Number five is the clothing repair workshop at Tier Market
tomorrow from eleven to one. Summer Reading Festival activities going
on through next weekend all over Saint Louis Park.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
They're all free free books for everyone who shows up.
Speaker 7 (29:08):
But the ice cream Socials on Sunday Tomorrow or Sunday
two to five. Number three is the five k fun
run at Forgotten Star tomorrow at eleven. It's called rent
up Fest, but the Mini Renaissance Festival at under Pressure
Brewing US tomorrow and then Floatfest is also tomorrow starting
at ten at North Mississippi Regional Park, float on down
Cool Road.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
And if you ever miss any of this, maybe you
just tuned in. You can follow Stephanie on Instagram. She
posts that and so much more throughout the week and
not just on the weekends. There's so many different events
going on. And Stephanie's Instagram.
Speaker 7 (29:41):
Is Stephanie Rosner R O S E N E R
Stephanie Rosner Perfect.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
I love having her in because Bailey always has a
book schedule. Yeah, I mean ideas when she comes in
for like, if I have a free weekend, Yeah, this
stuff sounds cool. I'll be at Fringe all weekend.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
But I know next weekend is like the Uptown Porch Fest,
so I'm really excited for that.
Speaker 7 (29:58):
On next weekend, there's a bunch of stuff, so I'm
trying to narrow down the top five.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
Yeah, I love it well. Thanks for coming in, Stephanie.
Now before you leave, though, we have to hear which
girl group song do you want to hear next? Do
you have Say My Name by Destiny Squirrels. Yeah, we'll
do it right now. On Katy Wvname the Sex has
Jenny and Bailey. You are killing it. Way to own
the morning show hashtag girl power. That comes from Sheila
(30:23):
in Shakape. Thanks for listening. I hope this is helping
you out. Maybe you're working out this morning, maybe you're
just getting up and getting your coffee going, or maybe
you're coming home from your overnight shift. But hopefully we
are keeping you up and alive and excited as we
play more girl group songs on Girl Group Friday on
Katie w B Day. So it's brought to you by
(30:44):
six one two Injured Heimer and Lammer's Injury Law. So
we'll start off with this news that's pretty sad. Kelly
Clarkson's ex husband has passed away. He had been battling
cancer for a few years. We did talk about yesterday
how she had canceled her residency in Vegas for the
month of August, so she was taking some time away
with family and helping with her ex because she said
(31:04):
he was ill. However, nobody knew the extent of how
ill he was, and he has been dealing with us
for a few years now, so he has passed away,
and I mean, I haven't heard anything yet. She had
planned on being back for her shows starting in September,
but I'm sure if she needs to move them, right,
she will. I would as well count on it necessarily. Yeah,
because if you didn't know this, she does have children
(31:25):
with that X, right, so now she obviously needs to
be there for her kids. And then I'm sure she
obviously is very sad herself. Yeah. And then also coming
this weekend to the box office is of course Free
Here Friday. Millennials unite. We all want to see this
one because Freaky Friday was such a good movie, and
that and Weapons are projected to be the top earners
(31:46):
this weekend. Not entirely sure which one's going to finish
at number one, they're both going to be. They're high
up there. And Weapons is an R rated horror film
that I don't think I would have, but you do,
if that's your trust me.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
You know, you may have heard us talk about it earlier,
but Instagram has a new feature where your like location
is on. So if you don't want people to know
where you are that you follow on Instagram, there is
a way that you can turn it off in your settings.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
It says like stories.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
Location kind of thing, and you can shut off your
location or go through like, you know, your app settings
on your actual phone. And not only does it show
you like the location in like a new update, but
it also shows your mutual friends which reels you viewed, liked,
and commented on. So if you also want to shut
that off, you most certainly can in your activity in
(32:38):
friends tab.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
I think that so that I think has been happening
for a while, but I guess I didn't know that
you could shut it off. Yeah yeah, so your activity
is oh, okay, yeah in there right now.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
I like, I don't know, why do my friends need
to see anything that I like? Like, I know that
that's been a thing on Twitter for forever, and I
have learned a lot of things about a lot of
the people that I follow on Twitter. Yeah, because I'm like, oh,
that's what you're liking on Twitter?
Speaker 1 (33:04):
Interesting choice? Yes, So I.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Will definitely be shutting this off because they don't need
to see that I'm liking a you know, video from
the Wiggles that's embarrassing for me.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
So I'm in here right now and it says your
activity and you can click on likes, but then it
just shows your likes. I'm not seen showing an option
to toggle off, though, I'm gonna I'll find it for you.
Speaker 3 (33:28):
Apparently it says find activity and friends tab and then
toggle to no One.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Okay. So, and if you want to know how to
turn your location off in the setting STAB, you go
to story Live and location and then there is another
one that you hit called location Sharing, and that is
where you can toggle off your location, which I would
highly recommend that you do because I just don't think
people need to know where you are at all times
because you're on Instagram and I think it only clocks
(33:53):
you when you're active on Instagram. Yeah, so if you're
if you don't have the app open, it shouldn't be
shown your location. But I might be wrong about that. However,
I went in and started seeing that yesterday and I
went and talgled mine off because I was like, what
is the song where I am. I'm lay in bed
exactly exactly. I did watch a movie on Netflix yesterday.
It's called My Oxford Year. It was on the top
(34:16):
ten movie list for me, and so I thought, why
not give it a whirl. It was really cute. It's
about a girl who goes to Oxford four years. She's
got her whole life planned out. You know, she does this,
then she does this, and then she gets this really
good job. But of course something happens in her Oxford
year that keeps her there, stuck around or I gets
her off trap. Oh give it a watch. However, if
(34:38):
you're in your feelings, maybe don't because you might cry
during it, because I did quite a bit. We also
have some new music out today. I want to play
the Jonas Brothers ones because it samples a song by
the bee Gees, and I do really like it. It's
called No Time to Talk.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
I can see myself walking down the street with my
little Bell Bottom song.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
I like that too. Rita Ura also has a new
song up. This one is called Joy Joy. Gosh has
like the disco vibe too to it.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
Yeah, that one feels very I'm we were talking earlier
because we played a new song from Marshmallow and Jelly
Roll that kind of felt like youth groupie and honestly,
the You Bring Me Joy feels a little youth groupye
as well, but in a good way. Yeah, not in
like a everyone sit down and let's cry about our sins.
It's more like a let's clap together, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
So Bad Bunny has been a huge surge on Tinder
and what do I mean by that? They're calling it
the Happy Gilmour Effects. So he was just in the
most recent Happy Gilmore Too that came out. He plays
a great character in it. I never knew Bad Bunny
could act like that, and he is so good. But
basically a lot of single people on Tinder have been
mentioning him in their account bios now so Tinder kind
(35:57):
of clocked that and said, there's been a surge of
bad money on ten. So since he's been in that movie,
Tinder said that thirteen percent increase of his name has
been mentioned in Tinder profile. Like they're just saying, like,
I like that Bunny because they can give them cred
pretty much. All right, Well, you know what you do
what you need to do to get that swipe right.
I'm here for you speaking of Vegas residency. As I know,
(36:19):
Kelly Clarkson is putting a hold on hers. But apparently
Jennifer Lopez is doing a Vegas residency. But the ticket
sales are a little slow. So she's playing this summer
in Europe, but here at home in Vegas, ticket sales
are not going very well. She's gonna have a residency
around New Year's Eve. And if you remember, j LO
(36:39):
canceled last year's North American tour due to low demands.
So by comparison, seventy nine year old Dolly Parton sold
out in just a day her two week Vegas residency
in December, and asking price on the resale market for
Dolly's tickets are running as high as ten grand wow
for a resale ticket. Yeah but yeah, yours remarked. It's
(37:00):
shocking how well Dolly did and how poorly JLO is doing.
But is it shocking? Right? Like if you go to
cancel her tour here, what did you expect when you
decided to do a Vegas residency? Right?
Speaker 3 (37:11):
That's comparing not even apples to oranges, that's like apples
to broccoli. Like we can't say Oh, well, Dolly Parton
sold out in a day and her tickets are reselling
for ten thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (37:21):
But what about j Lo? But there is no comparison
there and not at all. All right, well, we'll do
it for Dave's dirt. I'm KATYEWB. We're gonna jump right
back into some girl group songs. And this one's been
requested quite a few times. It's Kat's Eye. I saw
a little clip of their performance at Lollapalooza over the
weekend last weekend, and they can damce yes, they get
very entertaining. So here they are now. It's called touch
(37:44):
on KDWB. Go Group Friday. Sorry, I talked over the
little kigle at the end. That's my bad. It's Go
Group Friday. On the day Ryan in the Morning Show,
just a reminder, we have been giving away a trip
to the iHeartRadio Music forestval in Las Vegas that's coming
up in September. We have another keyword for you to
win that at nine to twenty. And you don't only
(38:06):
win that, you also win one thousand dollars to spend
however you want in Vegas, which I'm assuming you're probably
gonna gamble it away. At least you should, yeah, because
at least gamble half all least gamble some of it,
and then you'll make it back when you win, and
then you're gonna have such a great time and go
to the iHeartRadio Music Festival. So stick around for that
keyword and then we'll play some more girl group songs.
Coming up next you. It's Bailey and Jenny here on
the Day Ryan in the Morning Show. Dave went to
(38:28):
Surgis last weekend. He was there for a few days
and then I think he hung out in the Badlands.
But he's going to be back on Monday. And then
Vonta is in Austin, Austin right now for a morning
show convention, so the boys are all going to be
back on Monday. However, Bailey and I were like, well,
if they're gone, yeah, we're gonna do what we want, yeah,
which is Girl Group Friday. So we're throwing it back
(38:49):
pretty far with this one. We've had quite a few
requests for it, actually, but it's the go Gos. We
got the beat on katwb.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
Hi.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
My name is Ken New I listen to you guys
every day since two thousand and one. Have you guys
played build bills bills by Destiny's Child. We have not yet,
so let's do it right now. It's bills bills bills.
On Girl Group Friday, First Sweet.
Speaker 4 (39:16):
Done it.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
All right, that's creep y'lsey courtesy of Juan Nita's request.
On Girl Group Friday, We're gonna do this a little
bit early because I want you to get in for
this trip to Vegas for the iHeartRadio Music Festival. Get
your phones out right now. You're going to text this
keyword into two hundred two hundred. Here you go on
a one point free HEYDWB has your shot at one
(39:40):
thousand dollars and a trip to our iHeartRadio Music Festival.
Now text the nationwide keyword Vegas to two hundred to
two hundred.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
You'll get a confirmation test and info standard data and
message race supply in this nationwide contest.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
That's Vegas to two hundred to two hundred. All right,
text that in two hundred two hundred the keyword is Vegas.
All right? Enough of us, Bailey, Yeah enough? On Girl
Group Friday, Girl Group Friday with three LW no more, Baby,
I'm gonna do it right, all right, Gotta text I
said it. I might have missed it, but I know
my girl Jenny has to play ugly Heart by girl,
(40:16):
Oh such a banger. You didn't miss it. We haven't
gotten to it yet. So guess what, Just for you
and for me and for Bailey and for everyone listening
to Girl Group Friday, right now, we're gonna do a
girl ugly Heart. I'm katiewb all right, I misspoke. It's grl,
it's not girl. I'm sorry. They only really hand like
that one song we didn't talk about. Someone pronounced girls,
(40:37):
So my bad, but that's ugly Heart on Girl Group Friday.
Now we are gonna be wrapping up Girl Group Friday
in like tanish minutes, but we want you to text
in the song that you just absolutely have to hear
on Girl Group Friday, whether we've played it or not,
whatever we get the most text in for, we're gonna
end with that song. But first we're gonna throw back
(40:57):
to this one, which is in tons of chick flick,
tons of rom con. It'll make you feel feelings. You're
gonna question, as I say, emotions best of my love,
like what is that? What is that? And then you're
going to hear and you're like, oh, that's right, I
know it is here we go, all right, that's emotions,
best of my love on Girl Group Friday, Bailey. We
only have a couple songs off to play, so we
(41:20):
haven't gotten to this one yet Fifth Harmony. I love
to say one of them already, but we have another
one we haven't gotten to. But keep texting in your
requests of what you want us to end on for
Girl Group Friday. We have scientifically gathering the evidence. Yes
she is, she's tally code, yes talenting them up right Now,
whatever we get the most votes for, we will end
gro Group Friday to day with. But first let's play
(41:41):
a little fifth Harmony worth it.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
On w B Pulse of Tinseltown, Dave's Dirt on kd WB.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
Okay, one last Dave's Dirt, and then we will reveal
what got the most votes to end Girl Group Friday today.
All right, Dave Sert, It's brought to you by six
Been two Injured Himer and Lammer's Injury Law. Out in
the box office this weekend is the movie Weapons, which
is more of a horror film, and then also Freak
Her Friday. I think Freaking Your Friday will take the
cake on that. But we'll see. Bailey already had a
(42:10):
friend who saw it.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
Yeah, she saw it a Wednesday night, like at a
pre screening or something, and she said, it's perfect nostalgia
for any millennial that liked Freaky Friday or you know
gen Z or Jenna, because if you liked Freaky Friday.
And she does recommend though, she said watch Freaky Friday
first if you haven't seen it in a long time,
because then freak Heer Friday will just hit different in
(42:32):
Land a little bit better.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
So, but she said it was great. She enjoyed it
a lot, and she said she would see it again.
Good to know. Yeah, Miss Rachel's talking about somebody she
ghosted that's a huge pop star.
Speaker 5 (42:43):
I was like, wow, this person has so many followers.
And then I was like, this is such a cute
little profile picture because it's a drawing. No idea ask
some but I asked people who are around.
Speaker 1 (42:54):
I was like, do you know who this is? And
then yeah, I realized it is Rihata. Yeah. So Rihanna's
Instagram handle is like bad girl re reach and then
her profile picture is like a drawing of her, like
a stick figure exactly so she had no idea how
she ghosted her. I guess Rianna reached out to her
on Instagram and I'm sure they connected eventually. Why would
(43:15):
Miss Rachel not also like Miss Rachel Rihanna like collab?
What a wild collab to be expecting that would be
so interesting? I love it. Okay, that's it for Daysert.
We have one more song left to play for Girl
Group Friday. Bailey has been over here hardcore right curiously
Tally's Yes, this is science, Bailey, I will let you
(43:36):
do the eyes of revealing. What is the final song
today on Girl Group Friday.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
The final song on Girl Group Friday is Spice Up
Your Life by the Spice Girls Baby.
Speaker 4 (43:48):
I see.
Speaker 1 (43:49):
Yeah. Well, thank you so much for hanging out with
Bailey and I today on Girl Group Friday. We hope
you had as much fun as we did, and now
all of our periods will sync up. Yes, gratulations everyone. Hey, PELI,
do you have a tampon? I have one?
Speaker 6 (44:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Do you need one?
Speaker 7 (44:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (44:04):
Really? What are you doing this weekend?
Speaker 3 (44:06):
I'm going to the Fringe Festival this weekend. It's the
last weekend of Fringe. So that's all I'm doing is
literally just a watching theater and haul and ass around
the West Bank. It's going to be great. What are
you doing this weekend exactly? Hall and ass throwing ass.
Speaker 1 (44:21):
Yeahs, have some birthdays, I have some gid togethers with friends,
and then I also have Jenny Spit Club and I
think I might have a few spots open so for
that on Sunday, if you're interested in coming, it's going
to be at Flight in Woodbury at noon on Sunday.
So if you want to sign up, you can go
to Dave ryanshow dot com click on the Jenny tab
and you'll see a little sign up for my fit
(44:42):
club and I'll email you to let you know if
you got in or not. But I do have people
that drop out last minute sometimes and I think I
