Speaker 1 (00:00):
Vont got back from a destination wedding in Mexico, yes,
and he was telling me a story. We're walking in
from the break room yesterday, and I'm like, I'm glad
this didn't work out that way. What happened?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Yeah, my girlfriend and I got back her cousin got
married in Mexico and it was nice, you know, wedding vibe.
Everyone's in love and happy. We're on a beach in
another country. And there was a part of me that thought,
what if I proposed to a Lissa right here, right now?

Speaker 3 (00:25):
What like during the one else's wedding.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Yeah, I don't think I would have done it during
the wedding, but like maybe yeah, but the all white
party or something, or like just at some course of
the week because it's her whole family's there, like a
good portion in our family. When is the next time
that's gonna happen? And it's we're on a beach in
another country. It's beautiful, the vibes are nice, and I
just thought, what if what if I do this right now?

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Gosh, what wouldn't it be just like Vont to take
someone else's big day and make it about a south.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
But I'm not doing it.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
You're not listening whispering Dave and I you bought out here.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
So you're saying like during like the reception when everybody
is like, you know, eating and that type of thing,
and people they don't do it anymore, but they used
to tap the glass and make the bride in the
groom kiss, and then Vaut taps the glass and then
stands up and is like.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Propose this. I just want to he would do something
like that.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
No, it feels very.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Va Are you guys talking about me over there? Now?

Speaker 4 (01:20):
What were you saying?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Yeah, So it was just a thought that I had.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I don't think I would have done it, because well, one,
I didn't have a ring. But I was just sitting
there thinking like, what if I did do this right now?
It's romantic. At one point we were walking on the
beach and she was like, see there's not a whole
lot of people around.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
This is what I would want.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
So I thought she was low key dropping hints, and
I was like, what if so you think it's wrong.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
Yes, it's wrong. You do not do something in a
grand gesture at someone else's big day.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
That's what I've heard.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Again, I wouldn't known either, any of that.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
When I was your age, I thought the same thing.
I thought, Oh, well, the people have done it. Have
you ever? If you're listening and you've had ever seen
anybody propose at somebody else's wedding, let me know, Send
me a text or call me and let me know
whether that's happened or not.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
I wouldn't have done it during the reception.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
I know.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
I don't want to steal that moment, but think about it.
Her dad and her sister were there, so I could
have asked for her dad's blessing, were dressed all nice.
It's a cute moment, and it would have been something
she would have never forgot.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Yeah, the bride and groom and then they would have
been like, you're never invited to anything ever again.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Well, stereotypically, I know it is advised against to propose
at somebody else's wedding or like function like that, but
I've heard some of them have been successful. Like I
heard that the bride I have a like a friend
of a friend whatever. A bride was in on it.
When she went to go do her bouquet toss, she
actually said psych that went and handed the bouquet to
Alyssa in this case, like who got proposed to?

Speaker 3 (02:38):
So it does happen.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Yeah, okay, I'm happy that you didn't do it. And
I mean, are you ready to propose?

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Uh circle spend the block on that question.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I know that I'm good to marry Alissa, but I
don't I don't think that I'm ready to propose. We're
just enjoying life right now.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Yeah, that's what it is. I mean, they're for you
so young, twenty four.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
You're not even twenty four yet, and Melissa is like
twenty five. Yes, text messages. Thank god you didn't propose
at the wedding. Don't ever try to steal somebody's thunder
at their wedding, even if you have their permission. The
time is for you to be there to focus on
the couple. And yes you're feeling the lovey dovey vibes,
but it's not the time or place at a wedding.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
If somebody, if they agreed and they were like, yeah,
this is fine, then why wouldn't I.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Yeah, I mean I guess if they agreed.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
But if you if you were to ask if somebody
is getting married, and you go to the bride and
groom and go, hey, can I propose to Alyssa at
your wedding?

Speaker 3 (03:30):
They're probably gonna go, yeah, sure, forced really I think so?

Speaker 2 (03:38):
No, I feel like most broad if they really didn't
want me to do it, that they would be straight
up honesty.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Here's the text says bad juju to propose at somebody's wedding,
ask my mom and dad. So apparently their dad proposed
to mom at the wedding and it didn't work out.
I think you got to make your own moment. I
think that you know, with with like the one time
that I am proposed to somebody, it's a story. It
was at a place that was very special to us.

(04:04):
It was like a very and it was like oh,
and I had her blindfold and I took the blindfold
off and instantly she knew what was I mean, she
knew anyway and I had a blind hold was she
wasn't like what's going? So I think, what is a
special place to you? And Alyssa? Is there a very
special place?

Speaker 2 (04:22):
We always said we wanted to go to Puerto Rico,
but like, how many times are we going to say
we were in Mexico? How many times in life? Are
you going to say you were in Mexico on a
beach for a wedding.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
With your family?

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Are limited?

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Sometimes we have Danielle on the phone. She has some
thoughts on actually this is sort of a trend right now.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Oh, Danielle. So Vam was talking about being the wedding
the destination in Cancun last week and he was thinking
about proposing to Alyssa, but he wasn't quite ready. He
didn't have the ring, but he probably would have had
he had the ring. What are your thoughts, Danielle?

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Okay, So it's actually kind of a common thing. A
lot of couples when I married, like brother sister too,
are actually like having joint weddings and a lot of
destination weddings because like Bonsai and a lot of family
and friends are already there are doing proposal at like
other parts of the week or time that they're at

(05:11):
these weddings. Because destinations and joint weddings are becoming more
popular in govement.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
That's interesting, But it's also interesting to me that people
want to get engaged in front of a bunch of
people because I feel like you either want your privacy
or you're good with like the big grand show of it.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Yeah, I think that there are people who propose it restaurants,
Like we did want a couple of weeks ago with
somebody who proposed at a restaurant. They do this to
get free food, and so he pulls out a fake
ring and proposes on like date number two, and they
got free dinner. They tried it again a couple of
days later, they got free dessert. So text messages vaunt,

(05:50):
you never proposed somebody else's event. It feels tacky. Plans
something for just me. You couldn't make calls and reservations,
something for only us. You got to put some effort in.
I'm into it.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
Oh man, I have. This is not a fun text,
but it said I had. The complete opposite happened to me.
My ex fiance told me at a wedding that he
doesn't want to get married and engaged. Sorry I don't
mean to laugh, but I'm so sorry.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
His girlfriend is looking like, can't you wait for us?
For this to be us one day?

Speaker 3 (06:21):
And he's like no, oh, I'm so wow. Like I said,
I just it was a thought if I did this
right now?

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Okay, well now you know that probably you shouldn't you know,
do your own thing at your own place.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
I'll take you to Texas Roadhouse.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
And also such a grand gesture person, You're gonna have
the biggest You're gonna have five photographers hired. You're gonna
have a huge surprise of family members and friends ready
to like say congrats right now.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
You know me, Yeah,
