Speaker 1 (00:00):
I got in trouble the other day. Yeah, And this
is a real story. This is not a fake story.
A lot of the stories that I tell you were lies.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Like when you say you love us.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Yeah, but this is a real story. And I felt
really stupid about this when we were doing some stuff
for social media and the other day about a week
or so ago, and you can see the video on
my Instagram Dave Ryan KTWGB And it's a real And
we set it up where I was gonna kneel below
a table and Bailey was gonna do a magic trick
where she pours water into a cup and then she

(00:32):
holds the cup up and it's empty. There's no water
in it. Oh my god, where'd the water go? Well,
it went into my mouth and then I spit it
and then my face is all wet and I pop
up from behind the table. And it's funny and it
got a good amount of views and we got a
good laugh out of it. But in the recording of this,
I was so stupid that we did it near the

(00:52):
electronic equipment we called the board the control board, which
is all the knobs and switches and buttons that we
run the show with and I knew it was there,
but I thought I had enough clearance and I didn't
think there'd be any danger of it getting wet. Well,
if you look at the video, you can see that
the water splashes up and it's you know, goes toward
the camera and it's in the electronic board, which would

(01:15):
be like spilling water in your computer or your laptop.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
It's like you spit onto the board, spit.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
I didn't mean to spit it on the board, of course,
not because I'm not that dumb. But it was a dumb,
dumb mistake, and I felt so stupid about it because
I've been doing this long enough to know. But I
think sometimes I get a little bit impulsive, and I'll
have an idea for something on the show and I'm like,
let's do it right now, and Jenny will be like, no,
that's a bad idea, and I'll say, screw you, Jenny, Yeah,
you buzzkill, and I'll do it anyway. Yeah, And I

(01:44):
think that's one of the things in life that I've learned.
You got to take chances once in a while, because
if you don't, just become the same old, boring garbage
that whatever. So take chances. But I took a stupid
chance without thinking it through, and it shorted out a
couple of knobs and buttons and dials on the board,
and so I had to call the engineers and I
had to say, yeah, I spilled water onto the board.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
You did what?

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Dave?

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Say that one more time?

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Well, which is an innocent mistake, because you know, you
tip over a cup of coffee or a couple of
you know, like a bottle of mountain dew and whatever.
And it was not an accident. It was an accident,
but it was also not an accident. Did I hold
it in my mouth and spit it onto the board deliberately?

Speaker 4 (02:25):
No?

Speaker 1 (02:27):
But then the engineer there's a camera that monitors the
studio all the time that we don't even realize is there.
We know it's there, but we forget about it. The
engineer says, no, you didn't spill it. You spit it
into the board. And then the moss Rich says, you
spit it into the board. I said, no, I didn't
spit it into the board. I made a dumb mistake.

(02:50):
I regret it, and I got mildly. It wasn't even
that I got in trouble. It didn't go on my
record or anything like that. I just felt stupid, you know,
just making a dumb mistake. Yeah, and so I got
in trouble at work. Last time I got in trouble
at work was probably for throwing off his furniture off
the parking garage.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
And that's a story in itself. And I did get
in trouble, but then it changes in whatever. But why
did you get in trouble at work? What did you do?
And I'm asking you listening, what did you do that
you got in trouble at work? Was it for a
dumb mistake? Did you show up late a whole bunch
of times? Did they catch you stealing drugs out of

(03:33):
the pharmacy. That's big trouble. That's big trouble. It's like,
what did you do to get in trouble at work?
Let's go around the room here and see, because I
think some of us had probably gotten in some trouble
at work, and maybe some of not. Let's start with Bailey.
Do you get in trouble at work? Bailey?

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (03:46):
Usually I avoid getting in trouble like it's the plague.
I hate getting in trouble. That is the worst feeling
in the world. So when I was in college, I
was an ra a resident assistant, and we had keys,
like master keys to the bill thing so we could
do our like nightly rounds to make sure, you know,
no one was partying or whatever. And I lost my

(04:07):
personal master key, and I knew that if I said anything,
I would get in trouble, and I wanted to avoid
getting in trouble, so I didn't say anything for like
a month or two, so my master key could have
been in the hands of a criminal or something for
that whole time. So I got in massive trouble for

(04:28):
not necessarily for losing my master key.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
But for not mentioning it for like two months.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
And I had to pay to get all of the
master keys remade for the entire building.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
It wasn't that much money.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
I mean, it was probably like eighty bucks, but eighty
bucks when you're in college and you don't have any money,
it was significant.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
You kind of feel, just like the trouble's not you
just embarrassed that you got in trouble. You feel stupid, yeah,
because you know, you don't really get in trouble as
an adult unless you do something just stupid. Jenny ye
as angelic as you are. Have you ever gotten in
trouble at work?

Speaker 6 (05:03):
The only thing I can think of actually involves you, Dave,
Because back in when I first started on the show,
a Harlem globe trotter came in and to guests on
the show or something, and you guys had him go
up to the roof so another roof story and throw
like a basketball off and try to hit a mark
and like throw kind of random things off the roof,
and so it left a little bit of a mess

(05:24):
in this courtyard where it was landing. So I had
reached out to our HR person, who was this HR person.
We've had some awesome ones. This one was not your bubbly,
happy HR person. She was pretty cutthroat, and she like
scolded me for us doing that because we didn't get
the permission from the building, And I was.

Speaker 7 (05:42):
Like, it wasn't my idea, like it was Dave's.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
But but actually, I don't think I threw you in
the under the bus. I just said, Okay, yeah, we'll
ask permission next time, but like, where's the broom. So
that's the only time I can think of that I got.

Speaker 7 (05:56):
In trouble at work.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Vonn is only twenty three years old, so you probably
haven't gotten trouble yet, but maybe any stories.

Speaker 8 (06:02):
No, I did when I worked at Rita's. I was
a manager there for like seven years.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Read his ice cream.

Speaker 8 (06:07):
Yeah, like the Italian ice in Custod. Okay, they have
one in Egan. I think it's the only one out here.
But I was ringing a customer up and I think
I either missed, like, didn't type the right thing in
or I forgot to bring them up, and so they
started walking back to their car in the parking lot.
So I ran out of the store and I was like, hey,
miss like you, I forgot to bring you up, come back.
And she started arguing with me like, oh no, you
did blah blah blah, and you're not supposed to obviously

(06:28):
chase customers outside the store, because God forbid, she could
have done anything to me. So my boss was like, yeah,
don't ever do that again. And I think that was
one of the things that led to me eventually getting fired.
But I got rehired eventually, So yeah, we.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Get some money in the phone here who has been
in trouble at work? Page? We're talking about how I
got in trouble at work. Everybody's been in trouble at
work for the most part, Page, did you get in
trouble at work?

Speaker 9 (06:53):
I did so. I've been in customer service for most
of my life, and I was on the phone with.

Speaker 6 (06:58):
Someone who.

Speaker 9 (07:00):
Ope, and I told them to please call me back
when they were ready to speak to me like an adult.
And then that got up to someone else, and then
I got trouble and was told I had to call
them back and apologized, which was pretty embarrassing, but.

Speaker 10 (07:18):
I did it.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
And that's the thing. You just you don't really get
mad at it. You just get embarrassed, but you didn't
get fired or anything.

Speaker 9 (07:27):
No, I was too good at my job, so I
was one that left.

Speaker 10 (07:30):
Eventually, when you.

Speaker 6 (07:32):
Called her back, what was her response, like? Did she answer?
And did you apologize for her?

Speaker 9 (07:37):
It was a while ago. I think I had to
leave a voicemail. So I got out of it a
little bit with being embarrassed, but it's still embarrassing.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Thank you, Page, I appreciated call back when you're ready
to speak to.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Me like an adult. I love that.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Well. My sister Donna got fired from Walmart in trouble
and fired because she called the customer on the phone
A B I.

Speaker 7 (07:57):
T H phone, So I can't do that.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Donna call us if you got one six K.

Speaker 7 (08:05):
I don't have Mary on the phone.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Also, Oh Mary, we're talking about getting in trouble at work. Hi? Mary?
What kind of trouble did you get in?

Speaker 10 (08:13):
Hi?

Speaker 11 (08:13):
I got in trouble after a meeting that didn't go
so well. I texted my boss and said, you know,
kind of behind the scenes that went over like a
fart in church and got in trouble because nobody should
speak to a leader like that. Oh oh really, dumb right,
missing some missing Mike speak.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
I'm not even a leader. I don't know what I
am on this show. I'm a I'm a victim is
what I am. Bullies, but we don't have any rules
like that on Are you should hear the way, what
did Jenny say to me earlier this morning about something
really vulgar?

Speaker 6 (08:50):
You said, you said, how do I sound off air?
And I said, you sound fine? And then you said okay,
and I know I sound fine, but do I sound hot?
And I just said immediately, no, no.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
No, you said something worse than that. Dan said, Jinny
used to be so yeah you did. Anyway, Thank you
for that. Mary, appreciate that text messages what you get
in trouble at work. Uh, this one's kind of funny.
I got in trouble because I work at a cat
rescue and I had another job. I'd go into work
smelling like cats. So I got in trouble for smelling

(09:22):
like cats. That's embarrassing. That's like, okay, we have to
talk to you, Jill. You smell like cats, Well, you
smell like a cat. Here's another one. This is some
more serious. I punched a co worker in the face
and broke three bones in his face. Now that is
something you get in trouble and probably arrested for. I'm
not really sure I like this text.

Speaker 5 (09:38):
It says my first job was a fro Yo place.
I got in trouble for giving my friends free toppings
your friends for a lot.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Of bartenders do that. Yeah, I'm sure. This one says
I got caught for selling MDMA. I'm not sure what
that is. In the walk in cooler at Chipotle, when
I was a manager, my supervisor called his supervisor. Instead
of getting FI, I got moved to a better location,
promoted to acting general manager. Nobody was more shocked than me. Oh, God,

(10:09):
is it.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Really sure that that also sounds like illegal?

Speaker 7 (10:14):
But they got a promotion good for that.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
I used to work in a small salon with only
six women. I had just had a miscarriage and was
talking about a co worker, but it made another co
worker uncomfortable, so I got written up. Are you serious?
So somebody was like so sensitive and I understand that
that they got written up that you're not allowed to
talk about that in the workplace. Okay, Wow, if you

(10:39):
got one, send me a text. I'd love to talk
to you. We'll do this again in a couple of
minutes on KATWB. Right now, we're talking about I got
in trouble at work a week or so ago from
doing something stupid. And you can see the video on
Dave Ryan KTWB on the reel. It's the one where
I accidentally spit water and I got it on the
gods equipment and I got in trouble for it. So

(10:59):
why did you get in trouble? Tell us your story
at work? Mike, Good morning.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Mike, Hey, morning morning.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Why did you get in trouble at work? Mike?

Speaker 3 (11:10):
So, I used to work at a mom and pop
tile shop. The power went out over there, and the
owner was a savage and said keep selling the tile.
So I went and grabbed the square footage and the
price off the sign that was labeled up there, and
the square footage on the sign was off. So not
only did I sell them cheaper than what they were

(11:31):
supposed to, but it was like an extra thousand square
feet of tile. And then on top of that, the
check bounce. So the owner was not happy and made
me drive around and try to find them at every
job site.

Speaker 7 (11:42):
Oh my god, did.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
You find him? Mike?

Speaker 3 (11:46):
I never found him. And the sad part too, is
my best friend's like brother in law of shops, so
it was like, what the heck? And I was the
top salesman. But it just shows you like one, oh
crap takes away a thousand that boys. You know, that's
all they focused on.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
You know, the man's always trying to keep you down,
am I right? Mike?

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Oh yeah, yeah, it mean they try to take it
out of commission, but I said it wasn't my fault.
They get the lady that made the sign, like that's
her fault.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
One cancels out.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Or pay the power bill, you know, pay the power bill, right, pay.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
The power bill all right, Thank you, Mike, appreciate that. Kristin.
Good morning, Kristin. Why did you get in trouble at work?

Speaker 12 (12:28):
Good morning Dave.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
Okay, So I worked as a customer service rep for
a local shopping network like QBC, but not QBC that
sold jewelry, watches, everything else. And this guy calls in
and he wants to know the method of payment.

Speaker 12 (12:43):
He used to buy his watch. So I pull up
his order info and I see he used his AMEX
cards and he vehemently denied it, like, I've never used
that card. I do have an MX, but I did
not use that card.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
What was the other card?

Speaker 12 (13:00):
I said, I'm sorry, sure, I don't have any other
information except in AMEX ending in you know, that's the numbers.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
And he just.

Speaker 12 (13:06):
Proceeded to yell at me, and finally I just said, look, dude,
I don't know what you want from me. You called
me to ask me a question. I answered it, What
else do you want for me? What else can I
do for you? I don't know what to do for you.
And I ended up getting fired for that.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Oh but you were only doing what he asked you
to do. Now I'm going to guess something, fish, something
fishy was going on.

Speaker 11 (13:29):
But you know what, he's probably try else.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Yeah, that's exactly right. I'm thinking somebody else did it
interesting you move on to a better place. Thank you
very much. Let's we get some other text message.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
I've got tons. Yeah, here's one.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
That says all about why you got fired from work.

Speaker 7 (13:46):
Yeah, that's one says in trouble at work, not fire.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Oh yeah, just in trouble.

Speaker 5 (13:49):
I got in trouble for bringing in my PlayStation to work.
I used to work second shift and would just answer
phones from truck drivers if there was an emergency. When
there wasn't a phone call, I played games. The day
shift found my PlayStation in the drawer, and I got
in trouble. This text says, I work retail and we
can't chase people that steal. Well, I have a rap

(14:09):
sheet that I chase them, and I have been yelled
at many times. One time a customer beat me up.
So now I can't chase anyone anymore. Uh oh, but
I get that. I mean that's so weird that you
can't chase them.

Speaker 7 (14:20):
But we touch people.

Speaker 6 (14:21):
Yeah, is that tiggy wiggly When people would steal, we
would try to block them with like a cart and
sure to get like law enforcement there or something, or
like just be like, hey, can you come with me?
And if they obliged, then we could like bring them
in at all. Oh, but if they started running, there
was nothing we could do about it.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
Right when I worked at Disney, we would have to
just approach people and be like, hello, can I help
you with anything? Would you like me to hold that
at the counter for you so you can keep shopping?

Speaker 2 (14:45):
But we knew they were stealing, okay.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
This text says in college, I got in trouble for
hooking up with the bartender in the beer cooler.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
We didn't get fired, her and I just weren't.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
Allowed to work together anymore after that. This text says
I got in trouble at work for popping balloons after
I hosted a shower for a coworker. Apparently the balloons
sounded like some gunshots, which were quite terrible to hear
in a large office setting. The shower went over great, though,
so that's nice too Funny. This one says I used
to be late all the time at my old job.

(15:14):
I got warnings after warnings, and instead of firing me
after the fifty thousands time, that they just changed my
start time to later and make it so I'm not late.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
To anything anymore. That's helpful, it's accommodating.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
I love this one. In high school, I worked at
the Dairy Queen. My friends and I showed up for
our shift late because we were at the beach. Our
hair was wet and we had wet swimsuits on under
our red DQ tops that were dirty from the night before.
We got scolded by our manager. Hey, we had didn't
bide by Dave's book, but we didn't steal anything. That's funny.

Speaker 7 (15:48):
We have people on the phone, Dave if we want.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
To talk to them, Yes, please.

Speaker 7 (15:52):
Okay, we've got mad on the phone.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Hey, Matt, we're talking about why you got in trouble
at work. What'd you do when you get in trouble
down at work?

Speaker 3 (15:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (15:59):
So what?

Speaker 13 (15:59):
I was sick and mind you, I'm forty now. I
was working in a restaurant as a server and we
had just transitioned from having to handwrite all of our
ticket to give it to the cooks to the POS system,
and with doing so, we had to number each table
every time we rang in the order.

Speaker 10 (16:14):
Well, I had a couple of regulars come in that
I knew that wouldn't tip, and my mistake I labeled
the table large girls that don't tip. Unfortunately, it shows
up on your receipt when you give that.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
I love that saw it.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
We saw the large girls get fired.

Speaker 10 (16:36):
But boy, it was not a very good situation for
about a week and a half.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Oh that's funny, large girls that don't tip. Okay, here's
the lesson tip lesson.

Speaker 7 (16:52):
We also have Jessica on the phone.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Jessica, why did you get in trouble down at work?

Speaker 11 (16:57):
Hi?

Speaker 12 (16:57):
Yeah, I thought so.

Speaker 14 (16:59):
I used to warn a third shift at three different
jobs again and younger so. And then my my second
job was Nike, and so I worked there and it
was like because I did ten a break and I
was like, okay, you know I usually do this everything seen,
you know, I just take a little power nap. We
went in the fitting room one day to take one

(17:19):
and we're a little slow, and I did a wake
up for an hour and a half later to my
manager opening the door and seeing me knocked.

Speaker 9 (17:27):
Out, and I got said home and written off.

Speaker 6 (17:31):
Oh my god, man, Jessica, you have a talent though,
the fact that you could just go into a fitting
room and.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Take a little Is it comfortable? Like, how did you
like lay on the little bench there?

Speaker 14 (17:41):
Yeah, I just do you know, I'm a mom now,
so you know it's just propping that head up.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
I'm amazed that that's funny because there was another one
somebody said they got written up for taking a nap
under their desk. They were taking a nap unto their
desk during their one hour lunch break. That's kind of funny. Yeah,
this thank you Jessica. By the way, I have a
wonderful day. This text says I got in trouble at
Amazon for pulling the fire alarm so we could all
go home early. That's when I got in trouble. Got
in trouble smoking weed and the cooler not fired. Here's one.

(18:10):
I got in trouble for bringing a puppy to school.
I'm a teacher now. In my defense, they were all adorable,
especially the third one. All the other teachers said was
the best day ever when a puppy was there. But
oh I did get scolded one time. Remember we also
had I know you're thinking about that that HR manager
who was not nice. There was We've had wonderful HR

(18:32):
managers who were like, hey, how are you, what's going on?
Blah blah blah, And but one I brought my dog
in for some reason.

Speaker 6 (18:39):
We were doing a bit like it was like Fallon
versus Josie and trivia or something

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Right, and then yeah, well yeah, and they said you
need to get that dog out of here now, and
I was like, chill out come
