Barry Soper is no stranger to the Newstalk ZB audience.
Until the end of last year he was our long serving Political Editor.
On his retirement from the Parliamentary Political Gallery he took up the role of Newstalk ZB Senior Poliical Correspondent.
He was born in Gore and after finishing high school he attended the Police College at Trentham for six months before he withdrew and returned to Gore, to work for The Southland Times.
44 years later at last week's NZ Radio Awards he was honoured with the award for Outstanding Contribution To Radio.
