The Government's popped the top on a proposal to only offer healthy drinks in primary schools - with consultation closing in June.
Education Minister Chris Hipkins says when kids eat and drink well, it has a number of benefits and good learning outcomes.
He says sweet drinks account for more than a quarter of Kiwi kids' sugar intake.
