This is the band-aid Budget, a lifeline for those in the so-called squeezed middle – many earning under 70 thousand dollars a year will soon get extra cash in hand.
Health is also the big winner, with injections for more cancer drugs, dental care, and billions towards wiping debt clean from DHB’s ahead of upcoming healthcare reforms.
Commuters may be disappointed though – half price public transport and the fuel tax cut have been extended... but only for another two months.
