Is metal a bit stale these days? If you listen to Matt Heafy of the band Trivium, he'll argue that it's never been more healthy. There's many young up and coming artists in the metal world worth listening to. You just have to exercise some forbearance and look. In this day and age with social media, you're choices tend to get overwhelming. The truth is, this generation has more access to bands and artists than we could have even imagine growing up. Matt Heafy of Trivium joins the DOMKcast again for the second time. He's using social media to the fullest, having a twitch account where he gives ju-jitsu lessons, guitar lessons, and gives his fans to learn about Matt's true personality offstage. Matt will incorporate outside-the-box covers on not only his twitch account but YouTube channel as well. Perhaps a collaboration in the works after this talk? Matt recently did a metal version of "mmmmbop" by Hanson. Just shows you the eclectic taste in music that Matt has and does similar covers on his YouTube channel as well. Maybe we'll see him at Hop Jam next year? Matt revealed that he's working on a collaboration with Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional. We touched on why metal is king in Europe but not so much in the states. An incredibly talented guy who got his start at an early age. As he stated in the interview, Trivium has been the only real job he's had in his life. Always great to chat with Matt Heafy who is one of the nicest guys in the business. Hear the full conversation on episode 72 of the DOMKcast. #DOMKRocks

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
