Hello, and welcome to Invite Health Radio. I am doctor

six and I want to Invite Health into your world.

to eat healthier or exercise more, turn to the experts
at Invite Health for some additional guidance and support. We
have our nutrition experts who are available seven days a week.

you through, or you can pop into one of the

(01:15):
gail Or swing into Forest Hills and talk with doctor Claire.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
They are there to.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Help you help yourself and at the end of the day,
we want your twenty twenty.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Six to be the healthiest.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
So, as I mentioned last week, Jerry Hickey is on
the Men's Jerry had a little incident and broke a rib,
so he was not with us last weekend, and he
was very hopeful that he was going to be back
this weekend and he would have been.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Back with us.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
However, he and Ruth had something come up and so
while his rib is feeling so much better, he actually
had an event that he had to go to. So
he will be back next week to share all of
his wonderful knowledge with you. But in the meantime, what
I would like to zero in on is New Year's resolutions,

(02:09):
and don't guilt yourself. Don't make yourself feel bad if
you are a couple of days now into the new
year and you feel like you're already faltering your resolution,
because I always say you have to set a resolution
that is attainable and sustainable. So say, for example, you

(02:29):
want to be more active and right now you currently
don't work out at all. Don't try and tell yourself
you're going to work out six or seven days a week,
because you're likely not going to do that, and then
once you don't, then you feel guilty about it, and
then everything seems.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
To go haywire.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
So you want to set goals that are definitely achievable,
and this is where Invite Health can be very helpful
for you in kind of setting up a realistic plan
to achieve whatever those wellness goals may be.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
So maybe you.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Want to eat healthier, maybe you are trying to lose weight,
whatever be the case, please reach out to us.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Remember that is a free service.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
And it is so invaluable to be able to talk
to someone like doctor Claire or to talk to Gail,
for example, over at New Hyde Park. Such a wonderful service,
So please tap into that, and also tap into the
fact that we have our New Year's buy one, get
one freeselle going on right now, So every single product
in the Invite Health line is on sale. I talked

(03:32):
about it last week. You still have time, so you
have time this weekend to still make it over to
one of the stores. Go to our website invite heealth
dot com, or give us a call to take advantage
kick your new year off in the healthiest way possible
with the utilization of the powerful supplements that Invite Health

(03:52):
has been bringing you since nineteen ninety eight. So I'm
going to talk about some of those products for you
in this first half half hour before we jump into
more topics in the next hour. I want to talk
about krill oil and why our crill oil that we
offer it Invite is so powerful as well as being

(04:14):
so incredibly unique. You can find a lot of different
krill oils out there.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
On the market, I mean goodness.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
You can go into Walgreens or a CVS and you
can find krill oil. You can certainly go into Costco
and find krill oil. But what is the quality, what
is the potency, what is the sourcing and the Invite
Health crill Oil Advanced is sourced in such a unique
way and it's incredibly sustainable. This is something that's very

(04:42):
important to myself as well as to Jerry, and so
we have partnered up with a supplier for our krill
oil that gives us the most sustainable way to actually
access that krill from the Antarctic. And this is where

(05:04):
the point of you know, research and understanding goes beyond
that of just the science and the health benefits, but
it really comes down to that sustainability. So the form
of krill that we are using it is you know,
certified as Friends of the Sea, meaning it's not doing

(05:26):
damage and harm to the ecosystem to which it is
sourced from, and that really is important. And we have
full traceability with every single batch that we produce, and
to us, this makes a huge difference because we want
to understand, we want to be able to see how

(05:46):
the grill itself is raised and how it is actually
produced for us, and having that full traceability with every
single batch certainly makes us feel incredibly comfortable when it
comes to bringing you a high potent krill oil. Now,

(06:09):
remember krill itself has natural containing phospholipids in it, so
it has this wonderful phospholipid complex. So you get the
Omega three fatty acids, you get the EPA and the DHA,
but you're also getting that phosphatitle coaline and we know
that coline is giving that additional support for your heart,
for your brain, for your liver, for your eyes. And

(06:31):
there's been a significant amount of research done in the
past decade, even looking at the way in which the
phosphatitle colin is very beneficial when it comes to skin
health and for sports performance, which is really kind of
a fascinating wing of research that has kind of taken

(06:52):
off over the past decade. And looking at the benefits
of krill oil when it comes to joint health. This
is something that I find incredibly unique, especially with the
sourcing that we do with our kryl oil. But when
someone comes in and they are talking to us, maybe
they have carpal tunnel, or they're dealing with rheumatoid arthritis,

(07:14):
or they're dealing with osteoarthritis of the knee as an example,
once they start using the Invite Health kryll Oil Advanced,
it doesn't take much time to see that role that
those omega threes are playing and regulating inflammation and you

(07:35):
get this high amount of as dis anthem. Remember that's
what makes pink flamingos pink that very powerful carotenoid. So
you get the benefit of the asda's anthem when it
comes to eye health, but also for brain health. And
this is why when you are supplementing with our Krylloil Advanced,
you're getting this full system support for brain, for heart,

(07:59):
for your joints, your skin, for your eyes, for your liver,
and we know that coalin is very important to support
the little tiny liver cells, and every single day your
liver is going through the different phases of detoxification. Leaning
on coalin is very important to that process. We also

(08:20):
can see when it comes to brain health and having
that posphatydle coaling to be utilized as a precursor step
for making acetyl coaling, which is our primary neurotransmitter for memory.
This is also incredibly important. So when you're using our

(08:40):
Crylloil Advanced you can rest as shirt. This is really
great for my brain and for maintaining brain volume. I
always say, you don't want to be in the skinny
brain line as you grow older. You want to maintain
good brain volume. We also can recognize that through taking
this kryl Oil Advanced formulation with the high amount of astxanthon,

(09:03):
that this is beneficial in supportive for our eyes to
be able to fight off even UV radiation that comes
from the sun. So we always have to have concerns
about the blu rays that are emitted from our light
emitting devices such as our cell phones and our computers,
that we always want to make sure that we have
an extra layer of protection and support when it comes

(09:25):
to fighting off the harmful effects, the damaging.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Effects of the sun.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
We can also look at other formulations that we can
add in also provide that UV protection support. So formulations
such as the oranges HX, all those powerful carotenoids taking
the green tea, whether that's the green t TX or
the green t HX capsules, the EGCG that comes from

(09:51):
green tea very helpful. So always keep that in mind
if we think about the sun, we don't want to
just think about vitamin D. We want to think how
can we help ourselves from the inside out to have
this added layer of protection. And this is where formulations

(10:12):
like crill oil advanced, where the formulations such as oranges
HX and greens HX and the green TTX.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
All can be.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Very very helpful for making sure that we can fight
off the effects of photoaging. I mean clearly photoaging gets
worse with time spent in the sun, and maybe you
notice it as far as age spots as people will
you call them or more pronounced wrinkles. So we want

(10:45):
to do what we can to combat further damage done
to our skin and at the same time also have
a remedy to repair those damaged cells. So looking at
the super r A krill that we use, this is
one of those products in our product line that I

(11:08):
really enjoy talking about because not only is the scientific
research and all the clinical research trials out there on
the efficacy of krill oil when it comes to the
uptake into the bloodstream, how effective it is for all
of those different systems in our body. When you look
at the form of krill oil that we're using, this

(11:33):
registered trademark form that's been used in trials and has
this traceability and the sustainability that it's not doing harm
to the ocean ecosystem. This is something that is very
important to us and should be important to you as well.
So when you're supplementing with our formulation, you know that

(11:55):
you are doing the right thing for your body, but
also for the ocean as well, and that's a great thing.
It's a testament to to what we do. We take
a lot of pride in that. And you're getting the
powerhouse nutrient choline in this, you're getting that powerhouse antioxidant.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Asked a xanthon in.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
This and then of course you're getting the benefit of
that EPA and that DHA all packed in to a
single capsule, which is a wonderful thing. So if you're
not taking an omega three every single day, this is
something that you should really talk to one of our

(12:35):
nutritional experts about because I always go through the basic
things that everyone should be doing, regardless of what your
health goals or your health conditions are, So just across
the board, everyone should be taking an omega three fatty
acid every single day. We know that our intake of
omega three's from our diet alone is not up to snuff.

(12:57):
It's not where it should be. Even if you're doing
your best to adhere to a Mediterranean diet, the likelihood
that you are getting an adequate exposure to consistent omega
threes each day is usually.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Not so high.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
And you know you're not going to likely be eating
salmon every single day. Maybe you're not having high enough
servings of seeds and nuts in your diet every single day.
So even with your best effort, oftentimes we will fall
well shy of what we should be getting. And so

(13:36):
when we look at our options for omega threes. We say, okay,
well we have fish oil, and we have krill oil,
we have flax you know, if we're looking for a
vegetarian option. But what really makes the kryll oil so
incredibly beneficial is that you're getting these additional side benefits.

(13:57):
You're getting that fospatidal coaling, so it's helping with detoxification,
it's helping to combat daily stressors, it's helping with eyehealth
with the benefit of that asd xanthem and so that's
what makes kryl oil so nice to incorporate into your
daily routine. And then of course you want to partner

(14:18):
this up with a comprehensive multivitamin multimineral, and luckily for you,
you have many that you can choose from at Invite Health.
We've got our Core Multivitamin, we have the Performance Multivitamin,
which is the Core multi that's enhanced with the inclusion
of having sod soh. We use extra mel it's a

(14:41):
registered trademark form of superoxide dismy taste that's obtained from
melon so fruit sourced. And then we have Rodeo Life
in this, so it's a Rodeola extract.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
So it's very helpful when.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
It comes to energy production and to fight off the
effects of aging. So superoxide dismy taste is one of
our natural antioxidants, and we know that as we get older,
the levels of SOD.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Begin to go down, and they can go down to such.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
A degree that it can actually create a problem with
your carotid artery becoming a little bit thick, and we
don't want that. We want to have good blood flow
up to our brain. So this is why that performance multivitamin,
I always say, is the go to for anyone who
has blood sugar concerns or cardiovascular concerns. Performance multime it's

(15:35):
not just for those marathon runners and for those weekend
warrior athletes out there. The performance multivitamin is across the board,
really the most comprehensive formulation that we offer to really
enhance sell energy production, of course for muscle recovery, but
for circulatory support as well. With that superoxide discs me taste.

(16:00):
So we want to have our Omega three, we want
to have our multi vitamin. We of course want to
add in our ubiquinyl. Talked in some detail about coenzyme
Q ten over the past couple of weekends. So taking
the ubiquinol with NADH, getting that added benefit of that
vitamin B three substrate, which could be very helpful for

(16:22):
supporting healthy cholesterol.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
So if you're.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Dealing with cardiovascular concerns such as high blood pressure and
high cholesterol, taking that ubiquinol with NADH is going to
be your go to. And then finally, we always want
to look at vitamin D as part of a daily
routine because we know that diet alone doesn't give us
enough vitamin D exposure. It's roughly about ninety percent of

(16:46):
Americans don't get enough vitamin D from the foods that
they eat every single day. So this is why that
rate of vitamin D deficiencies and insufficiencies is so high
in this country. So I want to talk about some
more nutrients, but I do need to squeeze in a
quick break, so stick around with me. I will be

(17:08):
right back just after this. Do you want to kick

we've launched those. That is the five hundred milligram sustained release.
It's such a unique way to deliver vitamin C so

(18:57):
that you get this really nice, steady state vitamin C
going into your system. So definitely get those. Always advantageous
to make sure that you're always getting vitamin C into
your system each day, and this is a wonderful way
to assure that you're always going to have this nice
amount of vitamin C going in and staying in your bloodstreams,

(19:18):
so it can be helpful for your immune system and
for your blood vessels, and for your heart and for
your eyes and for your brain and beyond. So that's
the Vitality Plus beadlet. Stock up on those during this
buy one, get one free seale. So I just kind
of went through the basics of what you should be
doing on a regular basis when it comes to your

(19:40):
supplementation routine. This is regardless of what your your health
concerns are. Talked in the first segment in some detail
about this very unique krill oil and the way in
which we source this crill oil, it's been used in
clinical trials. We can see how quickly this crill oil
can actually create that balance of your omega three's to

(20:02):
omega sixes, which is important because both of which are essential.
We know that for Americans in particular, we have a
very skewed ratio, So the ratio should be like two
to one, two omega six for every one omega three.
The average Americans sitting at about twenty to one, so
that's not good. So we know that if you are

(20:24):
supplementing with our krill oil advanced that this can help
significantly in terms of allowing that omega three index, that
ratio to come to a healthier range. And that's important.
So we know this from the clinical trials that I said.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
We use this.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
Very sustainable sourced krill and it's a powerhouse when it
comes to its omega content, the astesanthem and that coaling. Now,
there are many different things that are happening in the
world of research on different nutrients that we talk about

(21:03):
quite often here on this program. And there was something
that I was reading in the Aging Journal just last week,
and they were looking at the benefits of tea and
garlic and berries and rosemary and to merrik. So these
should all kind of ring a bell for you if

(21:24):
you've listened to Invite Health radio for many years now.
We talk about all those polyphenals, those OPCs, those oleegomeric
pro anthocyanodms that come in products like oranges hax and
purple's hax that are packed with those powerful fruit and
vegetable extracts. We have our black seed with rosemary extract formulation. Now,

(21:46):
the rosemary does a wonderful job at regulating histamine. So
if we have excess histamine, this can create problems for us,
not just in the sense of you know, sneezing and
having allergies, but also when it comes to digestive concerns.
So it's interesting a lot of times when people take
our black seed with rosemary formulation and they're taking it

(22:07):
with the intention of supporting healthy sinuses for breathing, for
the lungs, and they will come back and say.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
You know, this is really great.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
I'm not, you know, affected with my seasonal allergies the
way that I used to be, but I also feel
like my gi system is improving.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
This is not a surprise to us.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
We know that the the black Cooman extract in that
partner up with the rosemary extract and that Cordyceps mushroom
can do a wonderful job at really creating balance and
lessening inflammation within the GI tract.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
So, so back to this.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Study that just came out and published in the Aging Journal,
was looking at how when you have high exposure to
the EGCG to the garlic which contains allison in that
the pro anthosynodins, all those power for antioxidants that come
from berries. Looking at all these how much of an

(23:05):
impact that can actually make on slowing down the aging process.
So they set up this study where they were able
to identify just food based intake of these different types
of nutrients, and then they were looking at telomere length
and there was a direct correlation between those who had

(23:27):
high intake of berries and rosemary and garlic and to
America in their diet and drinking green tea as far
as their actual aging effect. And so those who had
a high intake had slower aging of their cells compared
to those who did not. Now, what's the point.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
Of the story.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
The moral of the story here is we know that
Americans have a high intake of not green tea, berries
to meeric extract, garlic, No, Americans have a high intake
of ultra process foods which shorten the life span of ourselves.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
So your foods matter. I always talk about this.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
Let food be thy medicine, adhere to a Mediterranean diet.
But also keep in mind that we want to make
sure that we zero in on adding in these different
types of nutrients. So whether you're taking the green TTX
are powerful green tea tincture, or if you are using
the Purples HX as an example, with the blend of

(24:29):
all of those deep pgmented fruits and vegetables, so the
blues and the purples and the reds. And this is
a great formulation for brain health as well because it
has a high amount of blueberry extract. In that we
know that blueberry extract does a phenomenal job at crossing
that blood brain barrier to fight off oxidative stress and

(24:49):
free radicals and neuro inflammation and toxins in the brain.
So we can see the beneficial brain boosts that you
get when you're using the Purples HAX. Butch is overall
circ ulatory and sell energy function as well. Plus it's
a great trade off during the warmer months instead of
drinking a sports drink is to turn to your Purple's

(25:10):
HX and allow all those nutrients to not only help
with hydration, but to also help with fending off.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
The effects of UV.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
So it's not just the oranges HX and those powerful chronnoids,
but a formulation like the purples HAX also can be
incredibly advantageous to add into your routine. So I always
like to share all of the different studies that come out,
you know, fascinating one that was in the Journal of
Clinical Nutrition looking at vitamin D and how that in

(25:41):
and of itself can slow down the aging process. So
just think about that, you're taking your vitamin D supplementation
from us every single day. How much do you need
really depends have your blood level tested. There's many different
factors as to what can affect vitamin D absorption, so
do keep that in mind. But at the end of
the day, we know that we need to do our

(26:02):
best when it comes to allowing our system to get
exposure to the vitamins, to the minerals, to those fatty acids,
those omega threes, all of those powerful carotenoids and antioxidants,
so we know that the foods alone are not going
to be able to achieve that for us. So this
is why supplementation becomes so incredibly important. And we can

(26:25):
look at our formulations like risveratrol just thinking of rosemary extract.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
Again from this study that came.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Out of the Aging Journal, our resveratrol max formulation has
rosemary extract in it to help to support maintain the
potency of that transras viatrol. And I had mentioned this
product I believe last week that you get two hundred
milligrams two hundred milligrams of transras viatrol in every single

(26:51):
capsule along with the OPCs from GrapeSEED extract and corsetin,
so across the board. This is an excellent product when
it comes to brain health, circulatory health, for the support
of prostate because you're getting that coersetin. If someone's dealing
with peripheral artery disease, chronic beness in sufficiency, any type
of a vascular issue, taking that risveratrol max is incredibly advantageous.

(27:17):
Not all risveratrols are created the same, So if you
really want to yield the powerful benefits that we know
exist with risveratrol. You have to be using a risveratrol
that has been shown to absorb because the way that
we make ours, we do it in a very controlled environment,
so it's not exposed to oxygen for the breakdown or
loss of the bioavailability or the action of that resveratrol.

(27:41):
Ours isn't a liquid capsule, So this is where that
rosemary becomes very important. It also has MCT oil in that,
so the medium chain triglycerides also give an extra brain boost.
So when you're using that risveratrol max, you can get
so many benefits from that particular formulation. So it's a
nice add on to a daily supplementation routine. So to say

(28:03):
you're taking that performance multivitamin along with the kryl Oil advanced,
you partner that up with the ubiquinyl coenzyme Q ten
with NADH, take your vitamin D three and then add
in that super booster rezverital max, and you are off
to the races when it comes to giving a comprehensive
way to support all of your cell So you want

(28:26):
to make sure that you take advantage of the invite
health new year's buy one, get one free sale that
is going on right now. You want to stock up
on that performance multivitamin or get your core multivitamin. Make
sure you get that kryl Oil advance goodness. Gracious, we
all need COQ ten and there is no better COQ

(28:46):
ten out there than the Invite Health ubickenol with NADH,
that wonderful tested form, high absorption, make a difference when
it comes to your cell longevity with our co Q ten.
So you're gonna want to stick around and remember, if
you happen to have questions for me along the way,

(29:07):
please feel free to reach out to me directly A
Williams at invitehealth dot com. That's a Williams at invitehealth
dot com. Stick around. I've got more ground to cover
for you on the flip side of this break.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
Welcome to Invite Radio. You're about to receive responsible, life
changing information on health and nutrition. You'll hear from Invite
professionals who are leaders in targeted and anti aging nutrition.
Get ready for tomorrow's nutritional science today right here, right now.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Hello and welcome to Invite Health Radio. I am doctor
Amanda Williams. Chief Science Officer at Invite Health, and happy
twenty twenty six everyone. I am super excited that we
are into a new year because we have many exciting
things that will be coming your way this year. At
invite Health. We've got many new products that we are

(30:05):
working on in the pipeline, So that's always exciting on
the science side, and we as always want to be
your partner in inviting health into your life. So as
we enter into this brand new year and people are
setting their new Year's resolutions and hopefully sticking to them,

(30:26):
I have a couple of pieces of advice when it
comes to your health and wellness resolutions. First and foremost,
make sure that you set a resolution if you've already
set one. Sometimes people give themselves a few days into
the new year before they really want to jump into
what do I want to have as my new Year's resolution?
So if you're still kind of wavering on what it's

(30:48):
going to be, my advice to you is to set
something that is attainable and sustainable. I always say this
about weight loss. Oftentimes people want to do a currash diet,
and right now everyone's trending with these different shots that
they're doing for weight loss folks, those are not sustainable.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
So crash diets.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
Don't work, fad diets don't work, the weight loss shots
aren't going to work in a sustainable way. You have
to look at things that you can attain easily and
that you can sustain for the long term. This is
very important. So this is something that we do at

(31:31):
Invite Health is we become your partner in achieving those goals.
Setting a goal that's realistic. Maybe you want to be
more active in twenty twenty six, but you just don't
feel like you have the getty up that drive, just
the energy. So you want to work with one of
our nutritional experts to really identify ways to increase your

(31:57):
daily energy so that you feel more peppy, so that
you feel like you have that desire to want to
go out and be more active. And it doesn't mean
that you have to go join a gym.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
It's just finding something that you enjoy that gets you moving.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
And when it comes to weight loss, this is a
big one for most folks. When it comes to the
new year, you want to set a goal, a weight
loss goal, your targeted weight that you want to be
and make it something that is attainable. Don't tell yourself
that you're going to lose twenty five pounds in one month.
That's not attainable and it certainly won't be sustainable. So

(32:37):
you want to set realistic goals so that you don't
guilt yourself, because once you guilt yourself, then that starts
that whole hormone pathway of the HPA access, the hypothalmis
pituitary adrenal access, and the cortisol cycle starts up, and
then we are having more and more problems when it
comes to our metabolism and trying to lose weight. So

(32:59):
work with one of our nutritional experts. We've got Gail
over at New Hyde Park. She's been with us for
so many years. She's such a wonderful person and takes
so much time with folks to really give sound guidance.
We've got doctor Claire, she's our resident naturopathic doctor at

(33:21):
Forest Hills and the same you can bring in your
blood work and doctor Claire will sit down with you
and identify different areas where you can make improvements so
you can start feeling better and you can start to
achieve whatever those goals are. A lot of times people
just accept the fact that you know what, maybe I'm

(33:42):
just supposed to feel like I have no energy, Maybe
I'm supposed to not get good sleep. Maybe I'm supposed
to feel achy all the time. No you're not. So
don't accept that as just like a commonplace or just
based off of your age, because age shouldn't matter. I've
talked to many individuals who are in their seventies and
eighties and they have more energy and feel better than

(34:06):
folks that I work with who are maybe in their fifties.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
So this is why.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
You want to take advantage of working with one of
our wellness experts, because they have true insight as to
how to personalize a nutritional plan that will work for
you and it will be something that is attainable and sustainable.

(34:35):
So definitely take advantage of that. That is a free
service that always has been, so do take advantage of
that and take advantage of the path that Right now
we have our New Year's buy one, get one free
sale going on. Every single product in the Invite healthline
is on a buy one, get one free, so you
can stock up on all of your favorites, you can
try something new, and of course I'm going to get

(34:58):
into why doing a daily routine matters and what you
should include into a daily routine. This is something that
comes up so often when we are working with folks.
They will ask, you know, do I really need a multivitamin?
Do I really need to take fish oil? Or you know,
I heard you talking about krill oil advanced on the

(35:21):
radio show. Do I really need to be taking krill oil?

Speaker 3 (35:25):
Or I Hey, I hear a lot of.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
People talking about coq ten? Does this really matter? My
doctor tells me it doesn't. So these are the things
that at the end of the day, they do matter.
And yes, you do need a multivitamin, and yes you
do need an Omega three and hands down coq ten ubiquenyl.
Of course you need that. And this is something that

(35:47):
you can have your blood level tested. You can see
how much coq ten is currently in your system. Your
body naturally makes coq ten, but it begins to falter
in that once you hit about forty years old, and
so natural production of coke ten as that is being depleted.
On top of we are no Certain medications like statins

(36:08):
and beta block or drugs that people are put on
for whether that be cholesterol or blood pressure, can lower
your body's ability to make COQ ten. So yes, you
do need COQ ten. And we know that the form
that we use at invite Health, the Konica form, is
the most powerful form of COQ ten, the most widely

(36:29):
studied of any coke ten that you can possibly take.
So the answer to those questions are, yes, you do
need all of these things. I often say, you know,
we've been doing this since nineteen ninety eight. And when
Jerry Hickey started invite Health, he had this vision in

(36:50):
his mind of how can he, as a pharmacist who
is working in the world of medications, right pharmaceuticals, how
could he incorporate vitamins and minerals and fatty acids into
a daily routine so that people wouldn't have to be

(37:11):
dealing with the drug induced nutrient depletions, so people wouldn't
have to deal with those low energy states. There's so
many things that we understand foundationally about the body and
what happens as we go through the aging process, which,
by the way, we start to see things faltering in
our twenties. So when you're looking at collagen, we know

(37:35):
that collagen begins to go down when you hit about
twenty five years old, so that affects every aspect of
your health. Collagen's most abundant protein in the body. And
that's not just looking at Oh, I'm getting some wrinkles
because I'm forty or fifty years old. Collagen is so

(37:57):
needed for bone health, for vastular health, for brain health.
We should all care about what our collagen status is
and what we can be taking to maintain healthy collagen levels.
So College XHA Excellent Choice or Collagen HX. The collagen

(38:18):
HX is the most popular collagen formulation that we make.
It has that peptand B in it. That is a
registered trademark form of collagen that has such a high
absorption rate and has been clinically studied to show its
effectiveness at not only helping to support your skin and

(38:40):
your hair and your nails, but also for bones and
for your joints. And so that's partnered up with the
Boswelia extract and it also has silica in it, so
it's an excellent formulation. The college x AJA this is
also a hydrolyzed collagen formulation that contains hyaluronic acid glucosamine.

(39:02):
There's tumoric extract in that wonderful to mix in with
your morning coffee. Remember we all need collagen, so don't
overlook collagen as part of a daily routine, and make
sure that you're partnering that up with vitamin C. So
the Vitality plus beadlet excellent choice. That's a trademark vitamin
C that we offer. It's five hundred milligrams per capsule

(39:24):
in the micro beadlet technology, so it's a sustained release.
But remember you need to have vitamin C for the
cross linking of collagen. So if you're taking either the
collagen HX or college xha, you also want to be
taking your vitamin C every day, so very important to
think about it that way. But then we can also
look at other things about the human body that start

(39:47):
to shift as we get older, like our production of
digestive enzymes. So many times when people hit middle age,
they start to struggle with proper absorption and digesting their foods.
So adding in digestive HX as an example, very good
fix for many folks who are dealing with digestive problems.

(40:08):
So taking one capsule, it's a blend of different digestive enzymes,
so it aids in the breakdown of the foods that
you are eating in your diet, and ideally you're adhering
to a Mediterranean diet that's going to be the best.
So these are the things that we always like to
assess and analyze. We recognize that co q ten production

(40:30):
naturally goes down, collagen production goes down, digestive enzyme release
goes down.

Speaker 3 (40:35):
All of these.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
Things that we understand, and then we can look and say, well, no,
wonder why when I hit fifty years old, I don't
have the same energy. My joints are a bit more achy,
I can see more fine lines and wrinkles. I'm having
a harder time when it comes to digesting certain foods.
But yet, folks, we have remedies to all of these.
We can be taking collagen every day, we can take

(40:58):
a digestive enzyme if need be. We can take our
coenzyme Q ten you biquin all to support that energy.
We can be taking our Omega three every single day,
and of course a comprehensive multi vitamin multimineral, of which
we have so many for you to choose from, and
they're so unique in terms of what they are actually

(41:20):
providing your system. So you really want to be able
to have those conversations with one of our nutritional experts
to make your daily routine very personalized to your specific needs.
So these are all of the things that we fully understand,
and this is why Jerry Hickey so many years ago

(41:43):
incorporated all of these different formulations into the product line
because he could recognize where the body was having those
struggles with making enough energy every day, with making enough
digestive enzymes, for maintaining healthy brain volume and circulatory health,

(42:06):
which is where your Omega threes really come into play.
But during our New Year's buy one, get one free sale,
there are so many different products for you to take
advantage of, but you want to make sure that you're
taking the right products for your specific needs, especially if
you're on a medication. If you're on a medication, you
want to be sure that you understand which medication is

(42:30):
creating which nutrient depletion. It's not the other way around.
A lot of times people are concerned, you know, oh,
can I take this vitamin with you know this blood
pressure medication. That's not where the problem comes in. Where
the problem comes in is that hence your blood pressure
medication is creating depletions of maybe magnesium or zinc, and

(42:51):
we're into cold and flu season, so if you're taking
a medication that's lowering your zinc status, well that's not ideal.
So understanding all of those differ di FRO points is
one of the basis of how Jerry formulated and designed
the entire Invite Health product line. Was based off of
his pharmacy background so that he could make sure that

(43:12):
he was putting together products that were covering those gaps
that we're filling in where those potential micro nutrient or
macro nutrient deficiencies were occurring. So I'm going to get
into what should be included into a daily supplementation routine.
But as always, you want to be able to tap
into that free resource that we have, which is our

Speaker 3 (45:16):
So let's get right to it.

Speaker 2 (45:17):
I always say there are some just basic nutrients that
everyone should include, regardless of whatever your health.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
Concerns may be. Maybe you have no health issues.

Speaker 2 (45:28):
And that's a fabulous thing, but perhaps you do have
health concerns. So at a minimum, if you have underlying
health conditions, you always want to make sure that you
are covering those bases. So when I think about the
basic nutrients that people should include into a daily routine,

(45:50):
I look at a comprehensive multivitamin multimineral formulation. Then we
have to look at our omega three fatty acids, very
very import mtant that we have adequate omega three intake,
and then something to support the immune system every day,
and this is where your probiotic comes into play. Now,

(46:11):
of course we can look at adding an additional magnesium,
adding an additional vitamin D three, we can look at
adding in cellular energy support with coenzyme Q ten U biquinol.
But just for the basics and for today, what I
have on special is the core multivitamin, the probiotic HX,
and the invite fish oil. So let's talk about why

(46:34):
these things matter. Well, we can certainly just look at
the inadequate exposure that we get to vitamins and minerals
just from the foods that we take in This is
just we clearly know that most foods are completely nutrient deficient,
especially if someone is following a standard American diet. Now

(46:58):
here's an interesting find they this was back in the
around twenty ten where they did this poll and they
found that close to seventy percent, seventy percent of Americans
over the age of sixty five years old take a
multi vitamin. So it's always interesting that as we get older,

(47:20):
sometimes we start to care a little bit more about
our health and making sure that we're taking the right things.
So I thought that that that's a pretty large number.
Roughly seventy percent of Americans over sixty five take a
multi vitamin. Now, the problem is is that most of
the people that are taking those multivitamins are going into

(47:42):
you know, Sam's Claw or Costco or Walgreens, CBS, and
they're just buying whatever, you know, Women's multi, men's multire
a multi targeted towards seniors. Well, those commercially formulated products,
they contain very little when it comes to the optimal

(48:04):
amounts of critical vitamins and minerals. They generally always have
the synthetic form, which for many people who are getting older,
the body has a harder time trying to enzymatically make
that active. So when you're looking at the core multi vitamin,

(48:29):
you're getting that benefit of having the biologically active form
of those B vitamins, for example, having the methyl folate,
having the methyl cabolomen So just from the jump, just
from right there, we know that the B vitamins that
are in the core multivitamin are superior to any type

(48:51):
of B vitamin that you're going to find in one
of the commercially formulated vitamins. And keep in mind too,
this is always a little fun fact. The majority of
commercially formulated vitamins out there on the market that the
majority of people.

Speaker 3 (49:08):
Take, you know, because they just.

Speaker 2 (49:11):
They think, hey, I'm gonna be healthy, I'm gonna take
this multi viamin. And I'm not saying by any means
that taking those multis somehow puts you at a greater
health risk. I'm not saying that, But what I am
saying is they are usually manufactured by major pharmaceutical companies

(49:32):
whose goal isn't necessarily vitamins and minerals. Their goal is
for new drug discovery and formulations on that front, So
it's always just something to keep in mind. You know.

Speaker 3 (49:52):
It's kind of like the saying, don't.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
Buy your food where you buy your gas. Don't get
your vitamins in a place that also sells other things.
You need to be getting your vitamins from a company
that that's all.

Speaker 3 (50:14):
They do is vitamins, or that is our business.

Speaker 2 (50:19):
Our business is to make the highest potent vitamin and
minerals and other herbal formulations that you can get your
hands on that have been studied in terms of their efficacy,
because that's what we do.

Speaker 3 (50:39):
So always think about that.

Speaker 2 (50:41):
If you know a friend or a family member and
they take a multi vitamin that they pick up at
their local big box store, maybe mention that to them, Yeah,
you probably shouldn't get your vitamins from the same place
that you can also pick up your window cleaner and
your laundry detergent and your cough and cold medicine. And

(51:04):
it's probably not a good idea. You should probably get
your vitamins from a company that that's all they do
is vitamins.

Speaker 3 (51:11):
So this is important So when you think.

Speaker 2 (51:14):
About using a multi nutrient formulation just for our overall health.
Maybe you're taking a multivitamin because you're concerned about aging
and or maybe you know my diet it's not that great,
I should probably take a multivitamin. For whatever reason you're
using a multi We have to understand that quality matters.

(51:41):
The types of vitamins and minerals that are put into
that multi vitamin formulation, that matters. As I mentioned, if
you're using synthetic, if you're not using natural vitamin E, that's.

Speaker 3 (51:57):
A huge one. You go look at any bottle.

Speaker 2 (52:02):
Of the big top selling multi vitamins at your local
big box stores and you know which ones those are.

Speaker 3 (52:12):
Look at the actual ingredients.

Speaker 2 (52:16):
And it should give you a moment for pause, because
not only are they using the synthetic version of vitamin E,
and they're using the synthetic B vitamins, and the type
of calcium that they use is of subquality. It just
from one mineral to one vitamin is just they're just

(52:40):
not that good. And then you look at the fillers
that they put in, and that's oftentimes incredibly alarming. Sometimes
they're pumped with artificial colors. Sometimes they have talk in them.
I mean just cornstarch, I mean things that just never.

Speaker 3 (52:56):
Need to be in a multivitamin.

Speaker 2 (52:59):
But one of the things that we do know is
that Americans definitely need vitamins. So when we look at
that Core multivitamin, which is so easy to take, it's
the packet and then it contains your three pills that
you'll take for the day, and within that you're getting
a comprehensive blend of all of your vitamins minerals. Plus

(53:21):
it has added antioxidants and I support. Just think about
all of your exposure to blue light throughout the day.
So by having the enhanced formulation in the core with
getting extra loutine and theoxanthine lycopene can really give the

(53:44):
eyes added support just from taking your multivitamin, just from
taking the Core multivitamin. Understanding that when we look at
how many people have to efficiencies in different vitamins and minerals,
it's very problematic, and they estimate that over ninety percent

(54:09):
of Americans do not get enough vitamin E. And then,
like I said, then if you go to the big
box store and you buy your multi vitamin, then you're
getting synthetic vitamin E and that is never ever an option.

Speaker 3 (54:25):
You only use natural vitamin E.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
We know that good fifty to seventy five percent people
don't get enough magnesium. And if we don't have enough magnesium,
we know that that impacts vitamin D absorption. We know
that good third of the country people don't get enough
vitamin C. You know, not to the point that people
are getting scurvy, but certainly to the point that we

(54:51):
can see the vascular impacts to that we can see
the vision impacts to our low vitamin C intake.

Speaker 3 (55:01):
So using the.

Speaker 2 (55:02):
Core multi vitamin is going to enhance your body's ability
to absorb these very important vitamins and minerals. And when
you look at our formula comparative to something that you'd
find in a big box, I mean, you're going to see.

Speaker 3 (55:22):
That we actually have.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
The adequate amounts that one would need to support.

Speaker 3 (55:30):
Just basic cellular function.

Speaker 2 (55:33):
And when you look at your average multi vitamin that
you get at Walgreens, does.

Speaker 3 (55:40):
It give you enough B twelve? Does it give you
enough B three? No, we know they don't. And why
is that?

Speaker 2 (55:52):
Because remember, the people who make those vitamins are not
in the business of vitamins for help. They are in
the business of making medicines for diseases, and this matters,
and I don't want to drone on and on about it,
but it's an area that sometimes it leaves me scratching

(56:16):
my head that consumers oftentimes are very much so misled
by good marketing, we shall say. But at the end
of the day, we know that taking a comprehensive multi
vitem in multimineral formulation certainly makes a difference. So when

(56:39):
you're using ours, we know we're getting those activated B vitamins,
we know that we're getting the additional eye support, and
we know that when it comes to the absorption rates
which have been studied and shown with how ours is formulated,
we're using a keylated mineral blend, which means that protects

(56:59):
those mineral from degradation. So the chromium that you're taking
in our core multi vitamin, we want to make sure
that by taking that chromium it's actually going to make
it through the digestive process and potentiate a benefit for you.
So hence the keylation of those so it has the

(57:23):
full blend of natural ease. You're getting the benefit of
not only the takafrols, but also those token trianols. So
thinking about oxidative stress and understanding how free radicals do
so much cellular damage. And if we don't have, at

(57:44):
just a bare minimum, a good complete multivitamin multimineral, we
can start to see how vitamin and mineral deficiencies begin
to drive up. And remember those vitamins and minerals, each
one of those play integral roles into different functions in

(58:05):
the body, including the immune system. And think about both
your immediate and your delayed immune response. That's incredibly reliant
on your levels of B vitamins and magnesium and zinc,
vitamin C, vitamin E. If we don't have adequate amounts,

(58:29):
then how do we expect our immune system to be
able to properly respond to any type of pathogen that
we encounter. So taking the core multi vitamin is that
bare minimum of just making sure that we're covering those bases,

(58:53):
giving us that extra support for our eyes. Since you
might be sitting in front of your computer all day,
or maybe your're constantly checking your phone, getting the added
benefit of those powerful carotenoids blended in with the full
spectrum multi vitamin multimineral. And at the end of the day,

(59:16):
this truly does matter. Because of our lack of exposure
to Omega three fatty acids, we walk around in a
chronic state of inflammation.

Speaker 3 (59:28):
And I always say, that's that.

Speaker 2 (59:29):
Slow burning forest fire that eventually is going to catch up.
So I want to talk about the Invite fish oil,

gonna talk about fish oil. So thinking about what we
should be taking on a regular basis, we know that
we need to have our multi vitamin multimineral formulation, and

(01:00:55):
the Core Multi is an excellent choice. But then we
cannot overlook the importance of omega three fatty acids. We
can look at the science behind omega threes. There's probably
at this point in time thirty thousand published studies on

(01:01:15):
the benefits of omega three fatty acids. Is actually probably
higher than that at this point in time. But we
know that omega threes are essential, so we have to
have them. We have to have omega threes. We understand
that when we look at how the body is functioning

(01:01:40):
in terms of the different regulatory pathways, omega threes are
critical to this. When we think about our overall cellular longevity,
when we think about improving the health of our vascular
system and that endothelial function. Thinking about our brain and
our memory, Remember, our brain contains fat and we have

(01:02:05):
to make sure that we have adequate omega threes. Then
you'll start to look at the science behind different.

Speaker 3 (01:02:15):
Types of omega threes.

Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
You can look at studies on fish oil, you can
look at studies on krill oil. We can look at
studies on flax seed oil, chia. There's many different ways
green lip mussel for example. But today I want to
zero in on fish oil because this is by far
the easiest way to incorporate omega three into your day.

(01:02:40):
So first we can always include in fatty fish, so
eating salmon no once a week very good choice. We
can also start to incorporate in taking you know, even
if it's one just one soft gel of fish oil
every day, that's a whole heck of a lot more

(01:03:01):
than you will ever get just from your diet alone.
So it's very key that in terms of overall cellular function,
for the health of our heart, for the health of
our brain, that we include omega threes into our routine.

Speaker 3 (01:03:23):
And why does this matter?

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Before the break, I said, I've looked at many different
fatty acid profiles, and Americans as a whole have way
too many omega six fatty acids, which by the way,
are also essential, So we need to have omega sixes.
The problem is, you know the old saying you know

(01:03:47):
too much isn't always you know, the best thing, always
a good thing. Well, we definitely see that when it
comes to omega.

Speaker 3 (01:03:54):
Six fatty acids.

Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
So too many omega sixes can create have it can
drive up inflammation in the body, and then we cannot
offset that because we don't have enough omega three. So
where that ratio of your intake or you're circulating amount
of fatty acids should be roughly two omega six to

(01:04:19):
every one omega three. The average American has like twenty
omega six to every one omega three. So thinking about
just that fact alone, then we have to think to ourselves, well,
you know, how can I do better? And it's it's

(01:04:41):
actually pretty easy, you.

Speaker 3 (01:04:43):
Know, adding in fish oil.

Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
And when we think about inflammating and that acute inflammation,
that's one thing. So you stub your toe or you
you know, get an injury, we want an acute inflammatory
response to heal faster. Well, when we think about chronic inflammation,
this is what accelerates our aging process.

Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
And so if we don't have.

Speaker 2 (01:05:11):
Omega three fatty acids to negate that then all we're
doing is every day adding insult to injury. So first,
we of course want to adhere to a good, healthy diet,
and when I say that, I mean a Mediterranean diet.

(01:05:33):
We definitely want to try to make sure that we're
incorporating it things such as fatty fish into our routine.
But we have to also recognize that even through a
Mediterranean diet and even through having salmon once or twice

(01:05:55):
a week, that's generally not enough still because think about
all of the different things that can drive your inflammation,
think about all the oxidative stress, think about all the
free radicals that you're exposed to on a regular daily basis.
So we know that fish oil is our best source

(01:06:16):
of Omega three fatty acids, so it contains the EPA
and the DHA, and we know that DHA in particular
can only be synthesized to a limited extent in humans,
which is why fish oil supplementation is so darn critical

(01:06:37):
because the body has a hard time converting from EPA
to DHA. So if we take higher amounts via supplementation
of fish oil, the body can overcome that. And we see,
you know, study after study it did the Attica study

(01:06:58):
long time ago looking at people's intake of fish in
their diet and how that had a direct correlation to
lower levels of systemic inflammation markers, looking at CRP levels,
looking at tumor necrosis factor alpha levels, and seeing how
the higher amount of good, healthy, fatty fish that they

(01:07:20):
had in their diet, the lower there's inflammation was.

Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
So this is all things that we know.

Speaker 2 (01:07:28):
We look at the fish oil that we provide and
this is very very clean. It goes through a double
distillation process, which is important because we know that the
oceans are not that clean and we want to make
sure that we remove any type of an impurity. So
this is hence why we put ours through such a

(01:07:49):
rigorous process. And it sourced from very small fish, So
we're talking about little things like sardines and anchovies and
harring because they carry a much lower toxic burden than
say a larger fish would. So when ours are caught
in that very cold, deep water, and depending upon seasonal changes,

(01:08:17):
sometimes we're sourcing up way high in Canada, other times
off the coast of Norway, but we follow very strict
cGMP guidelines and then going through that molecular distillation process
and then testing out that fish oil for that purity
to make sure that there are no levels when it

(01:08:41):
comes to mercury or lead or arsenic or any type
of bacteria or any type of a contaminant. And when
you're using a high quality fish oil such as ours,
you're not going to experience that fishy aftertaste, that fishy
burp that people talk about.

Speaker 3 (01:09:02):
And ours are.

Speaker 2 (01:09:03):
Enterically coded, meaning easier in that digestive process. And each
one of those soft cells is yielding you three hundred
milligrams of EPA and two hundred milligrams of DHA. So
I want to talk about a study that came out
of University of San Diego School of Medicine where they
identified the molecular mechanism that makes omega three fatty acids

(01:09:27):
so effective in targeting inflammation. And this is really just fascinating,
and they published this in the Cell Journal back in
twenty ten. But they found that the omega threes have
this group of specialized molecules, and those specialized molecules are

(01:09:54):
called pro resolution molecules. And they said, okay, well pro resolution,
so that means that they helped to resolve inflammation. But
they were able to take it down to three specific
pro resolution molecules, so you had the lapoxins, the resolvings,

(01:10:16):
and the protectins, all of which come from fish oil.
So the higher amounts of these pro resolution molecules, the
more inflammation fighting ability you end up having. And that's

(01:10:37):
a very important thing to think about. So when I
say you should include fish oil into your daily routine,
there's a darn good reason why.

Speaker 3 (01:10:52):
Because we know that.

Speaker 2 (01:10:53):
Most people have way too much inflammation. Most people do
not get adequate amounts of fish oil in their daily routine.
And we know so much now about Omega threes. We
see the science. The American Physiology Society came out with

(01:11:14):
some findings. They said, okay, omega three, fatty acids, they've
been you know, thought to protect against cardiovasc disease, but
they wanted to look at how it was impacting our
central nervous system. So researchers at Michigan Tech University, we're

(01:11:35):
looking at how fish oil itself actually could counteract detrimental
effects of high stress.

Speaker 3 (01:11:44):
The only thing about fight or flies and the.

Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
Over activeness of our sympathetic nervous system and not enough
of that parasympathetic to kind of pump that brake.

Speaker 3 (01:11:57):
They found that fish oil actually could.

Speaker 2 (01:11:59):
Protect the heart from that damaging fight or flight because
remember fight or flight in its true sense that yeah,
we need to have that, but when people walk around
in a chronic state of fight or flight, that starts
to damage the cardiovascular system as well as the brain.

(01:12:22):
So this study out of Michigan Tech was really interesting.
They found that those who they gave fish oil to
and then they gave them these different tests that would
induce mental stress, that those who were taking fishal had
significant improvement in terms of those cardiovascular markers that they

(01:12:45):
were looking at. So there's so many different ways in
which our omega threes are critical.

Speaker 3 (01:12:54):
I mean, even when we think about the.

Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
Atrophy or the shrinking of the brain, and we know
that this happens, and we also know and which is
really interesting. You know Americans like to be first at everything.
Well we're first in line when it comes to brain shrinkage,
which is not something to you know, walk around puffing
your chest about. So when you do brain imaging and

(01:13:18):
you can see that there's cortical atrophy or brain itself
is getting smaller, which is fully diet induced.

Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
That's a bad thing.

Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
And we certainly see that there are many neuroprotective properties
to Omega three fatty acids. Hence why taking even one
soft shell of Omega three fish oil a day can
make a huge difference in your overall health.

Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
So we think about.

Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
Targeting that inflammation throughout the vascular system. We think about
helping to support our central nervous system when we think
about how the fish oil is helping to offset the
negative impacts when it comes to the overactive adrenal system.
So study after study continue to show the power of

(01:14:11):
Omega three fatty acids. So I'm gonna take a quick break.
When we get back, i'm gonna tell you about a
couple of new studies out there on omega three's. Then
i'm gonna talk about probiotic HX. So we will be
right back just after this. Do you want to kick
your new year off right by getting healthy and sticking

bit more about omega three fatty ascids.

Speaker 3 (01:15:31):
Study after study after study.

Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
Continue to impress upon the importance of why we need
omega threes in our daily routine. We know that dietary
intake of omega threes very difficult for most people to accomplish.
Hence why supplementation is so incredibly critical. Now when you

(01:15:54):
see the science on omega threes, it is really really impressive.
So I want to talk about the Opera study and
this was one that the American Heart Association did and
they published this in their Journal of Circulation and Cardiovascular
Quality and Outcomes. They were looking at the prevention of

(01:16:18):
post op atrial fibrillation. So this was Omega three fatty
acids for the prevention of postoperative atrial fibrillation. We know
that when people go in for surgeries, oftentimes after that

(01:16:38):
surgery they can experience the irregular rhythm known as a
trail fibrillation. And so American Heart Association they talk about
this and they said, fish oil is one of the
most common natural supplements for the treatment. Now this is
American Heart Association saying this not me for the treatment

(01:16:59):
of hyper triglystridemia or the prevention of cardiovascar disease. So
they said, there's always the concern should people be taking
fish oil before they go in for surgery, because you
oftentimes doctors are like, I don't know, you're going to
have surgery, you need to stop taking every vitamin you
know for at least a week before, which is simply ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (01:17:18):
But this is what why these researchers wanted to look
at it.

Speaker 2 (01:17:21):
They said, okay, well, we're getting all these people who
were taking fish oil. Then they stopped and then postop
you know, then we're ending up with these you know,
irregular rhythms. So is it that the fish oil itself
was helping to support the cardiovascular you know, electrical firing system.
And that's exactly what they they figured out, you know,
because many of the concerns were, Okay, well, if someone's

(01:17:44):
on fish oil, potentially maybe they have thinner blood, which
means maybe they would be more prone to bleeding.

Speaker 3 (01:17:49):
So of course that's you know, a possibility. However, let's
look at this study.

Speaker 2 (01:17:55):
They looked at over fifteen hundred people who received either
a Placebo or Omega three fatty acids, taking this two
to five days prior to having heart surgery. So think
about this, fifteen hundred people going in for cardiac surgery.
Half of them are given a placebo, half are given
Omega threes, starting that Omega three fish oil at minimum

(01:18:17):
two days before that surgery. They were looking at the
postop bleeding. This is the interesting thing.

Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
The group that was given.

Speaker 2 (01:18:26):
Fish oil had less postop bleeding. So the big concern,
the big alarm of oh no, don't take your fish
oil before surgery, because then it's gonna make you bleed.
The people who had the fish oil before their surgery
had less postop bleeding.

Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
Really interesting, huh.

Speaker 2 (01:18:43):
But the whole reason as to why they were looking
at this was they wanted to see that atrial fibrillation,
and they found that those who were given the fish
oil had an incredibly lowered risk when it came to

(01:19:03):
a trio fibrillation or an irregular heart rhythm after having surgery.

Speaker 3 (01:19:08):
So it's just.

Speaker 2 (01:19:09):
Really a fascinating study. And they talk about, you know,
having good nutrition is essential during your recovery, and having
omega three fatty acids is been shown now to be
incredibly beneficial both pre opp and postoperatively. But obviously, if

(01:19:30):
you're going in for surgery, you always want to speak
with your physician in regards to that because you don't
want to do the wrong thing, so follow their guidance.
But always, you know, do your own research too. I
always say, you know, you are your own best health advocate.
So the more you know about your own health and
how your body reacts and responds to things, the better

(01:19:53):
off you are, because nobody else knows it better than you.
I can't tell you how you're going to feel, but
you certainly would know. Now here's another quick study. This
one was out of Ohio State University talking about processed foods,
the junk foods that most Americans are eating, and they
wanted to see, you know, would.

Speaker 3 (01:20:11):
Omega three fatty acids help to undo some of this damage?
And when we think about the.

Speaker 2 (01:20:17):
Deficiencies that that creates, all those high sugar, bad fat,
bad carb foods, and how this can actually affect our
cognitive abilities, our ability to make new memories or to
you know, recall old things, as well as focus and attention.
They said, well, let's look and see if we give

(01:20:38):
people omega threes, would this help? And of course they
know this is gonna help, because why we're helping to
re establish that fatty environment within the brain. Those omega
three fatty acids that EPA in the DHA can do
so much when it comes to cognitive support and those
neuronal pathways. So that was of course, It's not oh,

(01:20:59):
go eat your fast food and then just take fish oil.
That's not the walk away from that study. The important
thing is change your diet and make sure you still
are including in fish oil into your routine. We know
that we are in the midst of cold and flu season.
That doesn't mean that this is the only time of
year that you should be taking your probiotic. Many people

(01:21:20):
kind of have that thought, like, oh, I'll just take
extra vitamin C and some probiotics during the winter, and
that's okay, But we have to think about every day
immune system support because remember, the immune system is helping
to regulate inflammation. We know that there is that direct
correlation between gut health and brain health, so we have

(01:21:43):
to be aware of these things. And by taking the
probiotic HX on a daily basis, and I generally advise
taking it in the evening when you're getting ready to
go to bed, your intestines are more relaxed. We have
better potential for those good, healthy bacteria, those good microbes
to really lay down into the intestines. And that's what

(01:22:05):
the goal is because we always want to re establish, recolonize,
good healthy back to it because every day we're impacted,
whether it's foods that you're eating if you're not you know,
especially if you're not making good food choices. So definitely
probiotic on a regular basis to cover all of those

(01:22:25):
different things to make sure that we have that good
gut brain connection to make sure that we are targeting
inflammation and of course to support our immune system year round.
So as we get into twenty twenty six here, we
definitely want to make sure that we are covering the basics,
that we are taking a comprehensive multivitamin, multimineral, that we

(01:22:47):
have our omega three, that we are taking our probiotic
and our ubiquinyl co q ten and at invite help
you know that when you're taking one of our multivitamins,
you're getting the power of those B vitamins. In the
natural vitamin E, there's coq ten put right into our multivitamins.
We also have an I vitamin that's also incorporated into

(01:23:11):
those maltis as well as those keylated minerals to really
enhance the absorption rate. So you want to start with
your multi then you also want to make sure that
you're taking your coq ten you biquin all. Remember we
use conica. That is the most well researched form of
co q ten anywhere. It is so powerful it's bioidentical,

(01:23:33):
so it's the exact same form that your body can
actually produce, which we know our body starts to struggle
with coq ten production once we hit.

Speaker 3 (01:23:40):
About forty years old.

Speaker 2 (01:23:42):
So if our cells are deprived of energy, you will
