Get ready for tomorrow's nutritional science today right here, right now.
Good morning, Happy Saturday out there to everyone. It's always
an honor and a privilege to be speaking with you.
(01:36):
My name is Jerry Hickey. I'm a pharmacist whose background
is strongly in the world of nutrition and health, and
I'm going to be talking about supplements that are extremely
beneficial on this program. Now here's the thing. Any product
I speak about on this show that I feature on
this program, you get fifty percent off suggested retail on
(01:59):
two bottom. So you buy one that suggested retail, you
get to second bottle free. Now, probiotics are extremely useful supplements.
A well thought out probiotic with strains that have been
used in research is very good for all kinds of
intestinal problems like gassiness. Some people eat food and their
(02:22):
stomach swells all the way up, gassiness and bloating, diarrhear constipation,
even irritable bottle syndrome. So it really helps digestive problems
in general. Probiotics are also good for the immune system.
There's a lot of data on that. And they're also
(02:42):
very good for the brain, and I'll explain why they help.
One reason why they help the brain first of all, actually,
actually if you have a bunch of reasons. One reason
they help the brain is they release things from food
that the brain needs for energy and the brain needs
to function properly. They also release things from food that
the brain gauges to see how much food you eat,
(03:05):
so it can shut down your appetite. See you're not
starving all the time, you're not picking in between meals.
That really helps set you up for fat loss. But
they also a lot of your immune system takes place
in your intestines, and these bacteria are very important for
that activity. About seventy percent something like that of your
(03:26):
immune function, of normal immune function would take place in
your digestive tract. And that makes sense because your digestive
tract is open to the external world, to the external environment.
So you're eating food that might have toxins in it
and things that inflame you and all kinds of bacteria, viruses,
and parasites, so you're digestive tractors to be able to
(03:49):
handle it. Now, there's a super highway for the immune
system called a lymphatic system, and one of these parts
of the highway goes directly from your intestine into your brain.
So if there's a lot of consternation and dynamic bed
things going on in the intestines, that's effecting the brain,
it's shooting up into the brain. So the University of
(04:12):
Virginia and researchers in i think Trinity College Dublin discovered
this maybe five years ago. There was that conduit from
digestive tract directly into the brain. So it's a kind
of an organ we didn't know about. So taking good
bacteria has been shown to reduce inflammation in the brain.
They've done a number of studies. We're giving people probatic bacteria,
(04:37):
helps them with tests, helps calm them down, helps boost
their mood a couple of levels. I mean, there's a
lot of good stuff going on there. So a brand
new study came out with by feeda bacterium by feeda
Bacterium brevy specifically, that's a really cool strain you get
that now. Probatic HX. By feeda Bacterium brevy enhances cognitive
(05:01):
function according to this data, and it reduces inflammation in
the brain, which inflammation in the brain is involved with
just about every disease or bad condition of the brain.
Inflammation on the brain is a big conduit for creating
Alzheimer's disease, and it's part of developing Parkinson's disease. Diabetes
(05:24):
inflames the brain. Smoking cigarettes inflames the brain, Drinking alcohol
inflames the brain, breathing in pollution is a big cause
of brain and inflammation, but also just aging. Our brain
gets inflamed with age because our protective antioxidant enzyme systems
decline in the brain, and our brain is open to
turmoil and damage and things like that and aging at
(05:46):
a more rapid pace. So they looked at seventeen studies
it's called a meta analysis and a journal Nutrients, and
in patients with Parkinson's when they gave them by feeda
Bacterium brevity, which once again is in our appropriatgy checks
these people, it improved their movement, their balance, They had
(06:10):
more structured movement. Parkinson's disease is a brain disease that
can lead to dementia. It could be a very very
dangerous disease, and it makes you have tremors, shaking, the headshakes,
to handshake everything, and the brain gets very inflamed. And
they found that giving this strain, even in these people
(06:31):
with this terrible situation, with this terrible disease and a
brain that you see in older people that really inflames,
the brain tuned across this factor alpha declined, inflammation in
the brain was declining, and their movement improved. And in
patients with Alzheimer's disease, this particular strain reduced inflammation in
(06:52):
the brain we would call that neuroinflammation and people with Alzheimer's.
So imagine if it's reducing inflammation and people with Alzheimer's
and Parkinson's disease in their brain, what it can do
for you and me. And that's exactly why I take
our probiotic every day. So, not only did it reduce
inflammation in the brain of people with Alzheimer's disease, but
(07:14):
it helped restore memory to a degree, and it helped
restore their ability to learn their cognitive functions. So this
is very important, especially when you get older to take
a probiotic it becomes increasingly more important because good species
of bacteria die off as we get older. We don't
know why, but we see it again and again and
(07:36):
again in studies as we grow older in our fifties
sixty seventies, the good bacteria dying off in mass. So
here's a different probiotic bacteria that's in probiotic HX. It's
called Basilis coagulands, which is basically an indestructible bacterium. It's
(07:57):
a very tough survivor. In our intestine, you have some
basiless coagulans, it protects you from a lot of ills.
Now this is the journal Frontiers in Nutrition, and this
is people between the age of eighteen to sixty with
problems with their immune function. So it's a double blind,
randomized PACEIBA controlled study, just like the previous study they
(08:18):
spoke about. So these are quality studies, these are gold
standard studies. They had an ongoing improvement in proper immune function.
The probiotic bacterium, which is called basiless coagulans, was stearing
their immune system back towards good behavior. So it was
(08:39):
helping them with skin issues, with intestinal issues or people
who were getting a lot of headaches or people who
were getting a lot of coals. It was restructing their
immune system, so less headaches, fewer colds, they were doing better,
fewer skin problems, they were doing better. And this started
within the first week and it continue to improve over
(09:01):
a two month period. So these people were less stressed out.
People who were prone the headaches had fewer headaches, people protocols.
The immune system was working better, protect them from viruses.
Sometimes it's called the ISQ, the Immune Status questionnaire. They're improved,
their Immune Status questionnaire improved dramatically, which is that asked
(09:22):
them about fevers, diarrhea, headaches, colds, coft skin issues. You know,
if they have them never, if they have them regularly,
if they have them often. These people had them all
the time. So when you get a good propriact. There's
four strains of probiotic and the probatic HX that make
your immune system work much better. Lack the Bacillius plantarum,
(09:47):
lack the Bacillus rhamnosis by Feenobacteria maniumolis subspecies lactus, and
the last one is bess coagulars. They also in conjunction
with by Feenobacterium brevity, reduce it flammation around your body,
and restore good digestive function. So this is a way
to help protect yourself into winter. By the way, and
in the summer, you know you get a summer cold
(10:08):
at list forever because you know you're always getting wet,
getting damp, and you're in and out of reconditioning and all.
But in winter, you know that's co for a cold season.
Taking a good probiotic like the Invite Probiotic HX capsules
very quickly improves your immune system function. So all of
(10:29):
the probiotic formulas from Invite, every one of them is
on special if you buy any of our pat The
one I spoke about was Probiotic HX. That's the one
I spoke about. But they're all on special. If you
buy any of our probiotic capsules at suggested retail, you
get the second bottle free. Now, just a couple of
(10:50):
more things about our probiotic formulas. Their heat stable, in
other words, you don't have to refrigerate them. But I
owe he's due. You know, I've been selling probatics since
the nineteen eighties and way before they were in fashion,
way before people knew aboutm because I was giving them.
The people who took antibiotics don't forget I'm a pharmacist.
(11:12):
That hard. So if somebody came in and they said, oh,
my son has taken it toobiotic, or I have to
take an antibiotic, or grandma's to take an it biotic,
I say, you need a probiotic with that. But we
didn't have a lot of selection back then, in like
nineteen eighty five, nineteen eighty seven. Well, actually back in
the late seventies. I'm going back to the late seventies,
like nineteen seventy nine, nineteen seventy eight. We didn't have
(11:35):
much choice in probiotics, so I had to work with
what was available. But today we have a tremendous choice,
and I picked the best of the best of the
best of it is the there's the Envi probiotic for
women to help restore good bacteria in their breasts. That's
important because the good bacteria in the breasts break down
chemicals and estrichuens of the breast that protects the breast
from nasty things, and it restores the good bacteria in
(11:57):
their urinary tracks, so they're less likely to get an
urinary truck infection over time, and it restores good bacteria
and they're vasutable tissues, so they're less likely to have
a yeast a candida infection in the future. So there's
the invite for women. There really specific to women. There's
the invite immunity. There's the invite probiotic HX, which is
(12:18):
the one I take. I mean that really covers and
like I said, and you could take it with food,
our probiotic or stable with food because of the technology
we use, so you could take our probatic anytime you want. Okay,
let's go to a break. Jerry Hickey Invite Health. I'll
be right back.

Speaker 5 (13:37):
Okay, welcome back to Jerry Hickey for Invite Health Radio.
And by the way, when this program, when this first
half hour ends, we have news for bet three minutes
and the doctor Amanda Williams comes on for an hour.
So vision, ugh, most of our information is coming in
through our vision, not our sense of taste or smell
(13:59):
or you're hearing through our vision. In fact, vision is
so important to the brain that our eyes are directly
connected to our brain. And in fact that the only
part of the brain that a doctor can see without
doing an X ray or you know, some kind of
MRI or something is looking in the eyeball. The optic
(14:22):
nerve is a protrusion of the brain. So your brain
is directly connected to the back of your eyeball and
they say about ninety percent of your information comes through
your eyes. Okay, So here's a very interesting study. It's
in the journal Nutrients about a month and a half
(14:42):
ago and it's some Asian researchers but mostly the University
of Leads in England and the School of Optometry in Birmingham, England.
And these are people who tended to have dry eyes,
which becomes increasingly common as we grow older. And they
gave them a combination of berries like bill berry lieutenant
(15:06):
Zia's antin, and it improved their vision. These are people
with like dry eyes. So these people their eyes were
so dry that they were getting the mucus built up
in their eyes when they woke up in the morning
and their eyes stung, and it was sometimes their eyes
got really tired and it was hard for them to see.
They felt like there was grains of sand in their eyeballs.
(15:27):
So when they gave them the berries with the luten
and Zia's antin, it improved their vision. So this is
like all older people basically. I mean it was a
clinically relevant, a clinically meaningful improvement, a real world improvement.
(15:47):
It wasn't just statistically important, it was real. They they
had less soreness, they had better tears, the dryness improved,
the clarity of vision improved, and they were seeing fine
things better symptoms improved by over fifty percent. Okay, but
(16:08):
if you look at the formula and the study, So
I downloaded the study and I read the entire study.
It was basically our macula advanced HX formula. Because it
was Billberry lieutenancy is inton lycopene, vitamins and minerals like antioxidants,
(16:30):
and that's exactly what our macula advanced HX is. So
I make sure my wife takes this. My wife had
a weird thing that the ophthalmologists at Mount SINAI couldn't
figure out. Every once in a while, she'd get this
dark spot in the middle of her vision. But there's
nothing wrong that they could see with her eyes. Her
(16:52):
macula tissue is fine, her phobia is fine, her crystalline
lens is fine. They can't find anything. And I would
give her macula and in a couple of days that
round thing would go away, it would disappear. So the
first time I did that for her, Oh had to
be about ten or fifteen years ago. We've upgraded the
(17:14):
Macula formula since then. That's why we call it Macula Advanced.
It was Macula now it's Macula Advanced. It's a better
formula even which is amazing because it was already a
fantastic formula. And she was seeing this dot in her
eyes and I gave her to Macula, and I think
by the fifth day or the third day, she said
that dot's gone and her doctors couldn't find anything. She
(17:38):
saw several ophthalmologists, real specialists, top notch doctors in Manhattan.
So being my wife, eventually she stopped taking the Macula
because that's how she is. And about two years ago
she goes, you know, that dot's back in my eye
and I said, you're kidding me. I said, aren't you
(17:59):
taking to me? She goes, no, I stopped taking it.
I said, well, get back on it, and she said,
in no time, in a couple of days, that dot
went away. We don't know what that dot was. They
can't find anything, but it's still scary. But she goes
all the time every six months to have her vision
checked and everything's fine. In fact, she now has glaucoma,
(18:23):
and so I don't know if that was part of
the problem with seeing that dot. Glaucoma and glaucoma. Well,
actually she doesn't really have glaucoma because there's no damage
in her eye. She had increased eye pressure, and when
the increased eye pressure damages to retina, they call it glaucoma.
So she had hypertension of the eyes. So she's on
(18:43):
eye drops. But the doctors were worried because the pressure
in her eye was still like eighteen or nineteen. You know,
you want it wagh below twenty one, right, And I said,
aded to macula, what are you doing? Take the macula again?
So this is the third time I told her to
take the macula. Now she takes it every day like
a religious thing. Butt of her religion. Okay, besides a
regular religion, Taking macula's a religious thing for her. So
(19:07):
she started taking the macula and the eye pressure drop
down to fifteen. And we've seen this what many people
who have increased intraocular pressure increased eye pressure that when
they go into macula advanced within a certain amount of time,
it drops two three, four five points. You really want
that pressure down the eye because the pressure is the
(19:28):
fluid in the eye pressing on the back of the eye,
and it could it could if it's bad, if it's
out of control and that happens quickly, it can make
you go blind. So that's narrow angle glauck homa. She
has open angle. So she stays in the macula now
and the eye pressure has been basically perfect, basically perfect.
(19:48):
And we've had many people reput that to us, plus
people with night blindness. That's a dangerous thing if you
don't A lot of people don't have adequate lighting. They
get up, they go downstairs the refrigerator, or they hear
something outside and they go downstairs and then they trip
and they hit their head or they break their hip
or something. It's a dangerous thing. So by taking the
(20:08):
things in macula, you see better in low light. And
I've had a number of people who depend on nighttime
vision to make a living Limo drivers and believe it
or not, people are working bars that like work at
the door of a bar to look at people's idea, etc.
You know, bouncers don have told me, Hey, he can't
believe the difference this has made for me. I have
(20:30):
no problem like the limo drivers and the camp drivers
have said to me, I have no problem now driving
at night. I could pick people up and take them
to Laguadi Airport and had no issues. And glare is
not an issue anymore. Because they were having problems driving
at night, yet the glare would blind them and it
would take them along to recover. So now with the macula,
they recover from the glare much quicker, which is a
(20:54):
lot safer. That's a lot safer, so they're see better
at night. The glare is not a problem. So if
you're moving around the house, you know, you could use
your cell phone, that little bit of light you get
off your cell phone becoeing the maculin and the cell phone,
you're seeing well enough that you don't trip over the
dog or you know, a table or something and hurt
you really hurt yourself. They estimate that taking these eye
(21:18):
formulas saves billions of dollars in healthcare because people aren't
tripping and banging their head and having a concussion, or
they're not breaking their hip because they're not tripping over things,
or they're not breaking an arm, or they're not getting killed.
Literally billions of dollars, billions of dollars per year are
saved in healthcare when people take these vision formulas. So
(21:40):
here's a second, brand new study. It came out the
sixteenth of January. It's lutin, zeus intin, and fish oils.
So I do that because I take the krill wile
and I take lieuten in zuzentin. And these once again
are older people where the eyes are getting dry. It's
in the antioxidants. It's brand new study. So they gave
(22:03):
them lutine and the zentin, which your eye pigments. They're
pigments that belong to your eye. And this is an
important thing to say before I discuss this study. We
have pigments that make our eye, and pigments that protect
our eyes, and pigments that help us see. Lutines, the zentin,
mesosa is, zantin, and betaicarrotine, they're all in this formula.
(22:25):
They're they're all in immaculate advanced state checks. They protect
the eyes, they help you see, They actually make the eyes.
The problem is less of them reach our eyes with age.
So how do they get to the eyes. Well, they're
absorbed through the brain so that the blood brain barrier
(22:46):
accepts them. Because the brain needs them for your memory,
so they're important for your memory too. They go through
your brain and the brain grabs as much as it can,
and then what's leftover reaches the eyes and helps rebuild
the eyes and protects the eyes and generates good vision,
so you could see fine things and you could drive
at night and stuff like that. The problem is, as
(23:07):
we get older, it gets increasingly difficult to break these
things down in our food and absorb them into the
blood stream, so less is reaching our brain, so our
brain is gobbling up all that can get there's very
little left over to reach the eyes, and now the
eyes start to suffer, the vision starts to suffer, and
it's easy to damage your vision. So when you take
(23:30):
these formulas, you're putting them back in the blood stream
and enough sufficient levels will reach the brain for memory,
because you need these nutrients for memory and for protecting
the brain. Because what's good for the brain is good
for the eyes, and what's good for the eyes is
good for the brain because the eyes are a projection
of the brain, and the brain gets most of its
information from the eyes. So it's it just stands the reason,
(23:52):
but it's been proven. It stands the reason that things
that are good for the eyes are going to be
good for the brain, and that's what research shows. So
when you take these formulas, a good vision formula, all
you're doing is putting enough back in the bloodstream that
sufficient levels reach the brain that the brain needs and
there's still plenty left over for the needs of your eyeballs.
(24:13):
So it's really important. So getting back to it, these
are people once again with dry eyes. They gave them
fish wells. Well. I take krill, but you know you
could take fish wales. I have nothing against fishueles. I
just think krills a little better, just as additional ingredients
in there and the subsorb better and you don't get
the fishburps. Nobody likes the fish purps. So they giveing
(24:35):
them fish wells louten inzazanin, and it reduced inflammation in
their eyes, which is good because it's also going to
be reducing inflammation in your brain. So once again, the
eyes are a projection of the brain. What's going on
in the eyes is going on in the brain. These
are people who once again had dry eyes, so they're
older people, their eyes are drying up. It improved tear secretion,
(25:00):
so you know, as you get older, the tears start
to get like gel like, they're not as they get
more viscous, thicker, they're not as fluid and liquid and
they're not washing the eyes as well. So the tears
improved and this was rinsing the eyes and inflammation and
pain in the eyes with them. So that's really, that's
really rather amazing. Excuse me, I had a little cough,
(25:23):
you know why, because it's so dry in here and
winter everything's really dry. So you know what, along with
all the probiotic formulas and immacular advanced checks and the
looting plus HX, I'm going to add our fish shails
and krill oil to today's to today's specials because the
next study has fish oils also. But this is different.
(25:45):
This isn't a vision for you anymore. They just gave
people fish oils along with exercise, or exercise with a
placebo fake fish oils. It's in the journal Clinical Nutrition.
It's a meta analysis of twenty one studies. Adding fisicials
to exercise improved the quality of the exercise. People lost
(26:07):
more belly fat, they gained more muscle, Their blood pressure
improved better, so their top figure in their blood I'm
amost out of times, so I have to talk quickly.
The top figure in the blood pressure improved by five points.
The bottom figure in the blood pressure improved by four points.
Their greasy triglycerides and their blood went down. This is
all really good, all really good. This is all really good.
(26:32):
The top figure in your blood pressure is when the
heart's beating, so going down five points and older people
is usually a win win situation. The bottom figure is
even more important. It's diastolic blood pressure. It's important because
that's when the heart's getting a little rest in between
pumping blood, so it's refilling with blood, it's getting a
little rest. And if that bottom figure is elevated, it's
very bad for the kidneys and the heart and the
(26:52):
brain is really bad. So the bottom figure improved by
a little over four points, and lower bodies strength like
the core strength and the leg strength improved better. If
you added fisshows to the exercise, then exercise alone. So
let's go over what's on special, because I just threw
in a couple of things. Our Macula Advanced formula, that's
(27:17):
the one I recommend for your eyes, the Macula Advanced.
But there's also the simpler one, which is lutin and xyzantine.
They're both on special today. All our probatic formulas are
on special We've got a bunch of them, but the
one I spoke about today was the Probatic X. The
Probatic CHX was reducing inflammation in the brain. It was
improving immune system functioning people with poor immune function, where
(27:39):
their skin got better, like if they had exima or something,
or rashes, the headaches were fewer, fewer colds, better digestive
health like with diarrhear engas into some bloating. So that's
the Probatic HX. It's a really great formula. It'll help
your immune system. It's great for your brain, protecting your brain,
and it's great for your digestive tract and absorbing nutrients,
(28:00):
helping you absorb your food better. So the probatic formulas
are on special division. Formulas Immacula Advanced State Checks and
the Lieutenant Yes In and Capsule they're both on special.
And just now I added krill oil and fish oils
because in this study when they simply added fishials to exercise,
it improved the benefits of exercise, which is reasonable because
(28:23):
fisils are important for your bones. I don't think most
people know that you need fishiles for healthy strong bones.
But fishials are also very important for your muscles. So
adding the officials to exercise in older people, they gained
more leg strength, core muscle strength. It was a really,
really good thing. So what's the deal. All of these
products were on special today. You buy one battle suggested retail,

Speaker 3 (30:15):
Hello, and welcome to Invite Health Radio. I am doctor
Amanda Williams, Science director at Invite Health, and I know
that you all just had the pleasure of hearing from
Jerry Hickey and talking about probiotics and the importance of probiotics.
Goodness gracious, we now know that our microbiome, the little
(30:38):
bacterial environment within our gut, it does so much to
regulate every aspect of our health. You know, it's so
interesting when I go back in time and think about
the first time I ever heard of probiotics and like, well,
what is this exactly? And because remember I went to
medical school, so I was traditionally trained as an MD,
(31:02):
and of course when you think of dietary supplements, that's
not part of our training. So I remember the first
time I was hearing about probiotics and I.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
Was like, I don't really understand.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
You're telling me that this is like a live bacteria
and somehow this helps your health so many you know,
years later, as I integrated into this world and fully understood, Wow, yeah,
those bacteria that we all carry around every single day
two to four pounds, they're pretty darn important. They can
regulate our blood sugar, our cholesterol, our mood, of course,
(31:38):
our immune system, and our digestion.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
But they're important.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
And we have such a wonderful line of probiotics available
for you, the Probotic Women, which I always say men,
don't be scared by the name of that one, because
that can be incredibly helpful for men who have recurrent
urinary tracts as well as men who are dealing with
prostatitis or bph because it has that garlic and time
(32:06):
extract in that so very helpful.
Speaker 6 (32:11):
You know.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
It's amazing when you look at things that come from nature,
such as garlic, and time, and we recognize how much
of an impact those can make in our body and
for so many different functions. So when it comes to
a healthy microbial environment, the Garlic and Time work really
(32:32):
lovely alongside of the Lactobacilli strains that are in the
probiotic women, but they do a wonderful job at easing
inflammation within the prostate and for women that Garlic and
Time are incredibly effective at targeting candy to overgrowth AKAA
yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis. So this is a great
(32:56):
formulation across the board of our probiotic weight. I know, Jerry,
you know many of the different probiotic options that you have,
so do be sure that you check those out. But
I have really super exciting news for you.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
We are we're ahead of things.
Speaker 3 (33:12):
At Invite Health, as you know, where the leaders when
it comes to nutritional supplementation and providing you not only
very potent and powerful studied and this is key studied
formulations because they're based off of the science. So there's
many other products out there on the market where maybe
(33:35):
they're not so weighted heavily in the scientific research we do.
We look at the science, we understand. So when we're
formulating our products, this is based off of that data,
looking at how effective is this going to be if
we partner up different nutrients. If we put lacto bacilla
strains with garlic and time, is that going to provide
a benefit. And when we recognize that, part of what
(34:01):
we do.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
Is the key.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
This is what makes us incredibly unique. But what also
makes us really unique is we're always ahead of the
game with fun initiatives.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
And something that we're doing right now.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
We know that spring is about a month away, and
I'm sure up there in New York you are just
kind of over winter at this point in time. You
just want to see some warmer temperatures and just see
that sunshine and get outside.
Speaker 4 (34:27):
I get that, you know.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
I have the luxury of being in South Florida, so
you know, I have my complaints when it gets a
little chilly down here, but I have to be realistic.
I mean, we're definitely blessed with nice weather down here.
But we decided that we are going to have a
spring cleaning event. You know, I remember growing up and
that was always like a big thing, you know, once
(34:49):
and I grew up in Michigan. So you know, as
you transition out of winter and to spring, everyone was like, well,
it's time to you know, open up the windows in
the house and get.
Speaker 4 (34:59):
A good, you know, solid cleaning done.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
But we should also think about our bodies this way
as we transition from one season to the next. So
we wanted to get a jump on this. We said, well,
we know people are into spring cleaning, but how can
we help people out with giving their bodies a kind
of a reboost or a charge. And so it only
(35:23):
made sense that we do this ahead of, you know,
the actual launch of Spring, which is in one month
from now. So we have our spring Cleaning event going
on right now, and we have certain products. There's actually
twelve different products that are in this special event. So
let me kind of break this down for you and
then I'll go through the different formulations and why they're
(35:46):
so beneficial in their own right, but just so you
have an understanding of how this sale is going to work.
So it's it's a free, free, free event. So you
get a buy one, get one free on the particular product,
You get free shipping, and this qualifies even if you're
spending under thirty five dollars.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
Usually, you know, our mark for free shipping is thirty.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Five dollars, So even if you buy our vitamin C
which is on special for fourteen ninety five, and you
get two bottles at fourteen ninety five, you'll still get
that free shipping, so excellent, excellent savings.
Speaker 4 (36:26):
And you get a free.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
Bottle of zinc lozenge so important because we are still
dealing with cold and flu season, but also zinc is
really helpful year round because zinc is so critical for
so many different functions for the health of our immune
system clearly, but also for thyroid functions, so for your metabolism.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
And what I really like.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
About the zinc lossenge is you're putting that obviously in
your mouth. Your oral microbiome really relies heavily on zinc,
and we know that when it comes to zinc intake
just from your standard diet, most Americans.
Speaker 4 (37:12):
Fall well shy of what you.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
Should be taking in every day and this can lead
to problems, especially when we think about like periodontal disease
and ginge of vitis. So the fact that you can
take advantage of our spring cleaning sale and maybe you're
getting our colon HX or you're getting our al Carnosine
plus and I'll go through all the different products with
(37:35):
you today.
Speaker 4 (37:36):
But you get that.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
Free bottle of zinc lozenge. Now, maybe you want to
stock up on some zinc lozenges.
Speaker 4 (37:44):
The zinc is.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
Also part of our spring cleaning sale, so you can
go ahead and you can get two bottles of the
zinc plus get an additional free bottle of zinc. So
excellent time to stock up on these products. They are
already discounted, plus you get to buy one, get one
free on that, so the savings are really wonderful. So
(38:05):
let me just kind of go through because maybe you
want to write these down.
Speaker 4 (38:09):
And you can also go.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
To our website just as as a side note. If
you go to invite heealth dot com and on the
homepage you'll see all the different tabs. There is a
tab to the left and it's called Specials. If you
click on the specials tab, it's gonna populate all of
those products that are on our spring Cleaning event. So
(38:33):
let me just kind of clip through them so you
know what they are. We have our vitamin C one
thousand milligrams on the special We have the zinc losenge.
We have the Menopause Advanced. We have the DGL licorice
our cerebral Care, which is one of my favorites. We
(38:54):
have the el carnissine plus, the l arginine, the sam E,
colon HX, vitamin B six, polycosonol, and lysine. So many
different products for you to choose and select from. As
I mentioned, you can go right to the website. You
(39:14):
can click on that specials tab and all of those
products are there. And when you order on the website,
just put two of the any you know, say you're
gonna get the Menopause Advanced, you know, select two, and
then it's going to automatically put that free zinc lossenge
into your cart.
Speaker 4 (39:31):
So it's very easy.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
You can also stop by any of our stores or
you can give us a call. But in any event,
we recognize that when it comes to a comprehensive wellness approach,
there's many different nutrients that we want to include in.
Speaker 4 (39:50):
But I wanted to highlight these.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
Specific products today because they all serve different purposes. And
sometimes you're thinking of maybe lysine or rgenine in one
particular way. Maybe you think, oh, well rginine, Yeah, maybe
I need that for support of blood pressure, or you know,
just because I want to try to boost up my
nitric oxide in my system. So even for men who
(40:15):
are dealing with a rectile dysfunction, for example, l rgenine is.
Speaker 4 (40:20):
Very very popular.
Speaker 3 (40:23):
I always say, just go to the Mayo Clinic and
you can look and you can see what they suggest
for men who are dealing with a rectile dysfunction. L arginine,
that powerful amino acid, is one of their suggestions. There's
a reason why. Well, we know that l argenine does
a great job at allowing the body to release nitric oxide.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
It does it through a particular.
Speaker 3 (40:48):
Enzyme called ENOS, so that's endothelial nitric oxide synthase. Not
that you need to know that, because I mean, who
walks around and talks about enos all day?
Speaker 4 (40:58):
Most people do not. So while it's in the.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
World of you know, science, for myself and Jerry Hickey
and we talk about enos, you don't necessarily need to
know what enos is. But what you do need to
know is that rgenine makes nitric oxide simple as that,
and in doing so, this allows for better blood flow
because it's going to allow your blood vessels to open up,
(41:23):
which is great for blood pressure regulation. Also really good
for making sure that blood is pumping to the areas
that you may have concerns with men So this is
why the largenine being that it's on the spring cleaning
special right now, very very good option.
Speaker 4 (41:41):
Same thing with the lysine.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
Lysine is oftentimes looked at as the immune system support
amino acid, and rightfully, so we know that if you
you know, are prone to cold source, you should be
taking lysine on a regular basis. If you have you know,
a history of you know, a herpes infection, for example,
(42:07):
taking lysine on a regular daily basis is very helpful.
It helps the body better regulate how that virus wants
to shed and that's what it's called called viral shedding.
But the way that a virus wants to get into
a cell and manipulate the action of that cell. That's
(42:29):
why viruses are so pesky. So if we're taking lysine,
this disrupts that virus. So if we're looking at herpes
simplex one, which causes a cold sore, or herpee simplex two,
which is what we think of more in the side
of you know, genital warts and things along that line.
But In any event, we know that these are both
(42:50):
very prevalent in the US population as well as globally,
so taking lysine every day can be very very helpful.
But lysine is also super important for being able to
allow the body to properly absorb calcium. And so say,
for example, you're eating your your green leafy vegetables and
(43:11):
you're trying to adhere to your Mediterranean diet, we want
to make sure that we're taking in the calcium that's
coming from those green leafy vegetables. This is where lysine
is very effective because it allows for better absorption in
the intestines of the calcium that's coming in from those foods,
(43:32):
and in turn that can help with bone density, which
is important for both men and women. So I oftentimes
will add in five hundred milligrams of L lysine if
I'm working with someone who's had a recent dexas scan
and it shows that you have areas in your bones
that are either osteo poinic like pre osteopornic, or if
(43:55):
they're actually like at that level of osteoporosis. But in
any event, the l arginine and that L lysing are
both on the spring cleaning event. I have one more
thing that I want to talk about when it comes
to combining l arginine and l lysing. But I do
need to squeeze in a quick break, so stick around
(44:16):
with me. I will be right back just after this.

(45:33):
Saturday morning to everyone. As we are nearing the end
of February, we are having our spring cleaning Sales event.
So you can go to our website Invite health dot com,
click on that specials tab and all twelve of those
products are going to populate for you and you can
(45:54):
stop by a store and take advantage of getting these
savings in store or give us a call. But this
is a Wall Supplies last sale. Let me just put
that out there into the universe. So as I talk
about these different products, you may have an interest, and
that doesn't mean that you're the only one that has
an interest, So do make sure that you take advantage.
Speaker 4 (46:17):
Of these deals.
Speaker 3 (46:19):
Now, before the break, I said that there was one
other thing that I wanted to discuss in the setting
of lysine and arginine. Now, to me, this is very
important because, like I said, we can look at lysine
and say, okay, if I have a cold sore, or
if I have an outbreak of shingles, which horrible if
(46:39):
you're dealing with that or if you've ever experienced a
shingle's outbreak. But lysine very very helpful in that setting.
Lyceing we know super important for helping our intestines absorb calcium.
Speaker 4 (46:54):
But we also know that if we.
Speaker 3 (46:56):
Partner up lysine and arginine, this can do amazing work
for our bodies when it comes to regulation of anxiety.
And the reason why I wanted to talk about this
is I've been doing this for many, many years now,
(47:17):
and I have seen a steady uptick in folks who
reach out to me for this particular reason. You know, Amanda,
I just I feel like I'm anxious. I didn't have
this problem five years ago, but I really feel like
I have either panic attacks or I just always have
(47:39):
this sense of angst what.
Speaker 4 (47:42):
Should I be doing?
Speaker 3 (47:43):
And we always want to look at the foods because
I'm telling you, the foods can drive so much of that.
Foods will fuel either a positive mood or a negative mood,
which means your foods. If you're eating ultra processed foods predominantly,
this can make anxiety worse, exacerbate depression, screw up your
(48:04):
sleep cycle. We know all of these things, but what
is really fascinating is that when you look at too
simple amino acids such as lisin and urginy, and you
look at the clinical studies that have been conducted, and
they're not new studies by any means. There was a
(48:27):
journal back in two thousand and seven that reported on this.
This was in the Biomedical Research Journal, talking about the
treatment of anxiety with lising and argeny. Now what really
kind of drew my attention to this was this is
(48:47):
such a basic concept approach. And I sat there and
as I read through the data on this study, which
is incredibly impressive, I kept thinking to myself, you know,
I wonder how many you know traditional doctors. You know,
whether it's a family practice physician who's dealing with someone
who comes in who's complaining of you know, chronic anxiety,
(49:10):
or you know, if someone is seeing someone who specializes
in anxiety, if they even know that you can turn
to to these amino acids, and how effective these amino
acids can be in that setting. So it was it
was a double blind, placebo controlled trial and they gave
(49:33):
these individuals. Now it was a higher amount of both
the lysine and the arching. It's about twenty five one
hundred milligrams.
Speaker 4 (49:42):
Of each per day. But they could see this in many.
Speaker 3 (49:48):
Regards almost like an immediate shift in the lessening of anxiety.
And these folks who had been struggling with this for years,
one of the things that they really recognize and conducting
this research and looking at the data points was how
effective the lysine and arginine combination was when it came
(50:10):
to lowering cortisol. And so we know that cortisol definitely
is a driver for anxiety. And you know within that
HPA access the hypothalmis pituitary adrenal access.
Speaker 4 (50:25):
So it's just kind of.
Speaker 3 (50:27):
One of those little tools in my tool box that
I like to turn to when someone comes to me
and says, I get anxious when I fly, or you know,
it seems like on a regular basis, I'm having kind
of these panic attacks and I'm not sure what I
can be doing. So we'll look at a variety of
different things. We'll say, hey, let's make some dietary modifications,
(50:49):
let's make sure that your sleep quality is good, and
let's also let's add on a little bit every day.
You know, we don't have to be taking that twenty
five hundred milligrams let's take five hundred milligrams of arginine
and lysine each day so that we have this nice
steady state, and then we're getting the side benefit of
better calcium absorption. Our immune system is you know, better
(51:11):
regulated to fend off against you know, different viruses. We're
getting the benefit of blood pressure control with the nitric
oxide release coming from the arginine. So it's a win
win across the board. So I just wanted to mention
that and we we certainly at this point in time,
recognize that ultra process.
Speaker 4 (51:31):
Foods are not our friend.
Speaker 3 (51:34):
Drexel University, they just came up with this very uniquely
designed intervention to target the problems of ultra process food consumption,
and their their program was quite interesting because one of
the aspects that they did was, you know, educating people
(51:56):
as to, you know, what is an ultra process food
and how do we get you to recognize that they
are not good for your system and they can be
very draining. But they also worked on mindfulness techniques and
so for the participants who were involved in this study,
(52:17):
they found a significant shift in how these folks were
were feeling. Once they followed these different steps, they were
more able to recognize, you know, what's a healthier food choice.
And you know, their sugar consumption declined by fifty percent.
Sugar is not your friend. They're you know, fat consumption,
(52:39):
the bad fats, you know, came down by close to
forty percent in this group. So it was really quite
a fascinating study. And the everyone who was in this group,
they were all losing weight, so just from the removal
of ultra processed food, so their mood had and proved
(53:00):
and you know, overall they're losing weight. Everything was functioning better.
So you know, let food be thy medicine go back
to what Hypocrates said all of those many years ago. Now,
I want to carry on with our spring cleaning here
and dive into some more of the products that are
(53:20):
on special cerebral care. You have heard me talk about
this product many many times. I always say, if you
have brain fog, and many folks admit that they do,
if you feel like you struggle with focus and attention,
or maybe you're just of a certain age and you're
concerned about overall cognitive function and maintaining good memory, this
(53:46):
product is a rock star. The combination of nutrients that
are in the cerebral care formulation are working synergistically together.
So they all have one, you know, defined goal, and
that is how do we get the neurons the brain
(54:07):
cells to work better because as we get older, we
know that there's many years of neuroinflammation and different toxins
that can you know, make their way up to our
brain that can affect our focus, our attention, and our memory.
Speaker 4 (54:24):
And so if we.
Speaker 3 (54:25):
Take nutrients that the body naturally already has and we
put those back into the system, this can do a
wonderful job and helping to reconnect the way in which
the brain cells are communicating, which helps with the way
the neurotransmitters are going to be released.
Speaker 4 (54:45):
It helps with the.
Speaker 3 (54:47):
Membranes, so the outer component of the brain cells, which
is also very key because we always want to make
sure that our brain cells are nice and round, that
they're not dinged up and dented. That's definitely not ideal.
So in this formulation you're getting the key healthy fats
(55:09):
that help with that membrane structure. So you're getting CDP
coalin and coline also helps to make acetyl colin, which
is your primary neurotransmitter for memory and focus. And then
it also contains phosphatydyle searing, and that phosatyle seering is
key for maintaining that structure. It also helps the brain
(55:30):
cells repair and recover from you the dents and the
dings that have happened throughout your life. And another fun
fact about postatitle seering is it does a marvelous job
at regulating stress. So generally speaking, if you have brain
fog or if you feel like you're having a problem
(55:53):
with focus and attention, you're likely stressed out. And maybe
you're frustrated or you you know, go into the office
every day and you say, Okay, I have to do this,
this or this, or maybe you're fortunate enough to be
retired and you you know, have a task that you
want to do throughout the day, and then you keep
coming back and going, wait, what was the first step
(56:15):
that I was supposed to do? Did I get to
the second step first? So this is a common thing.
We know that fostatidal seering has this ability to do
what is known as neuroplasticity, so the ability of the
brain cells to regenerate and repair. And so when you're
taking one scoop of the cerebral care every day, you're
(56:38):
getting these nutrients that help to repair the brain cells
and help to connect those very important pathways. Once again,
you get a nasatol. A nocetol is like a little
micro b complex B vitamin complex, and it's really integrally
(56:58):
involved with the cell to cell commune unication within the brain.
So you're getting all of these nutrients along with as
does anthon. So as does anthon is a powerful carotenoid,
So it's very important for your eyes and if you
have digital eyestrain from staring at your computer or your
cell phone. But it's also really key to fighting off
(57:21):
free radicals and oxidative stress within the brain. So it's
an incredibly comprehensive formulation combining these different nutrients.
Speaker 4 (57:32):
So if you do feel like you have.
Speaker 3 (57:35):
Higher amounts of daily stress that affects the way that
you think or your focus, this is the product for you.
If you feel like your memory isn't as sharp as
it was two years ago, this is the product for you.
So the cerebral care formulation that is unspecial during this
(57:55):
spring cleaning event, think of it as a means to
spring clean your brain because we know it can provide
us that neuroplasticity that way to repair and to regenerate,
which is very very important. So I know I need
to cut to a brake. Just as a reminder.
Speaker 4 (58:16):
We're live right now.
Speaker 3 (58:18):
So if you happen to have a question for me,
by all means, give me a call.
Speaker 4 (58:24):

that located on the left side of our homepage and
(01:00:30):
it will populate those twelve different products that are on
special Cerebral Care being one of those. Another product that
is on this wonderful spring cleaning event is our l carnissine.
Now carnosines interesting. Once again, we're looking at an amino acid,
(01:00:53):
and carnosine is what is known as a dipeptide. Once
got an information that you don't necessarily need to know,
but just so you do know.
Speaker 4 (01:01:04):
So, carnosine is.
Speaker 3 (01:01:05):
A makeup of beta alanine along with histadine, and so
when you combine those two, it makes carnosine, and carnosine
is oftentimes touted as being the anti aging amino acid. Now,
I look at all amino acids in their own right
(01:01:28):
as playing a role in our normal, healthy aging process,
and if we want to age gracefully, we want to
make sure that we're getting adequate exposure to all of
these different amino acids. But in particular, carnosine has been
looked at and shown to be very helpful in the
(01:01:49):
way in which our cells age. And many of the
different clinical research studies done on carnosine show the different
mechanisms by how this is actually working, one of which
is it's very effective at targeting glycation. Now, glycation is
(01:02:13):
when you have excess sugar, and when you have too
much sugar that's circulating around the system, and it's not
just sugar folks that you know, you're just sitting around
eating like a tray full of brownies every day. And
I think that that's a common misconception of how sugar
can build.
Speaker 4 (01:02:31):
Up in the human body. It's not just.
Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
From Oh, I just eat a lot of sweets. We
get sugars from so many different places, and so when
you're looking at the carbohydrate intake, especially if you're doing
ultra processed foods, your sugar levels are generally going to
be very high, and this can lead to insulin resistance
and you know, put you on that path to metabolic
(01:02:57):
syndrome and pre diabetes and then hence Ye two diabetes.
Speaker 4 (01:03:01):
So we know that the that.
Speaker 3 (01:03:03):
The carnosine itself is highly effective at regulating the glycation
that can build up and protect all of our cells
from those damaging, harmful effects. So I'll get into some
more details on that, but we have John on the line.
How are you doing this morning?
Speaker 4 (01:03:23):
John?
Speaker 8 (01:03:24):
Hi, doctor Amanda, how are you?
Speaker 4 (01:03:25):
I'm wonderful, Thank you.
Speaker 8 (01:03:28):
Okay, I have two questions. One, I have a pigmented
villain nodulo shinovitis in my left right above my knee.
And I have a couple of brain cysts on wonder
there's anything I can do about to shrink dissolve. There's
a nodule in there with Bill I I know, in
the leg and the cysts, unless there's anything I can
take for that, well, you.
Speaker 3 (01:03:49):
Know, and that's I'm glad that you bring this up,
because while it is slightly rare, we actually get quite
a few questions with people who have a similar problem
that you are dealing with. The one area that I
oftentimes look at is the inclusion of proteolytic enzymes. Whenever
(01:04:10):
we're dealing with any type of a cyst, regardless of
where it's located, that proteolytic enzymes do a very efficient
and effective job at helping to break that cyst down. Now,
is it going to happen overnight? Certainly not, because you know,
we're dealing with an underlying pathology and you know, trying
(01:04:33):
to figure out you know, is this genetically driven. We
can't change our genes in certain cases, you know, clearly
if it's a gene related condition. But we know that
if we use a proteolytic enzyme. And when I say that,
that's bromoline. So our bromoline formulation is something that I
would definitely advise you to start utilizing on a daily
(01:04:55):
regular basis. The bromoline is taken into the system and
goes through the bloodstream and has a very finite ability
to find areas where say we have a cyst and
it helps to start break that encapsulation down. It does
(01:05:17):
it in a much more effective way than say, if
we're just using another nutrient that targets inflammation. It is
the protealytic enzyme action is what will yield you the
actual results. So how much should you take? I would
say right now, because of you know the fact that
(01:05:38):
we're dealing with two you know, separate conditions, I would
be taking one thousand milligrams twice a day, and ideally
take that away from food because if you take your
bromolane right with a meal, a lot of the bromoline's
action is going to work as a digestive enzyme, so
it's going to work to break down the protein.
Speaker 4 (01:05:59):
So say you have a piece of chicken or something,
or piece of.
Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
Salmon, the bromolane would then work to try and break
down the protein from that food. So in your situation,
we want to take that bromolay more on an empty stomach,
so a good half hour to hour before you eat
or an hour after you eat the other thing, that
would be incredibly advantageous in your situation is to make
sure that you're getting your omega three fatty acids in
(01:06:23):
because that'll help with the overall systemic inflammatory response that's
happening in the body and vitamin D. So vitamin D
is going to help with the autoimmune regulation. So, like
I said, it could be genetically driven in some situations,
but in any event, we want to always make sure
that vitamin D status in the body is you know,
(01:06:47):
somewhere around seventy nanograms per milli vater on your blood
test result. Have you had your vitamin D level tested?
Speaker 8 (01:06:54):
Yes, at one time it was one hundred, so I
don't know what it is now.
Speaker 3 (01:06:58):
Okay, so you were actually your your level was quite high,
so yeah, via supplementation, that's likely not to make that
much of an impact. However, you know, maintaining that healthy
vitamin D status is still key because we know that
the immune system is kind of autoregulated through vitamin D,
(01:07:21):
so you know that part of it maybe helping to
control it to a certain point, but it's more of
the inflammatory response that's kind of overactivated. So you know,
taking your omega three's on a regular basis along with
that bromo lane and being very consistent with that, and
with the omega three I would say two thousand milligrams
(01:07:42):
of omega threes each day. So whether you're using the
Krill Oil Advanced or you're using the fish oil, you
want to you know, yield your total omega three. So
when you add up your EPA and the DHA, so
say with our fish oil would be taking four soft
gels per day and with the Krillo oil same thing.
You would want to be taking like two capsules twice
(01:08:05):
a day so that you're getting a higher amount of
those total omega threes to really help offset the over
exacerbation of the inflammatory cytokines that are being released in
your system, which you're driving up the worstening of your condition.
Speaker 8 (01:08:23):
Right, doctor Man, Well, that bromolin help maybe decrease that
nodule in the leg With.
Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
Bromeolin, I don't want to say yes, yes, yes, but
it really it should. I have found such success with
individuals who have that same condition when they are consistently
using the bromolain at that higher amount one thousand milligrams
twice a day, that they will start to see the
shrinking down of that cyst.
Speaker 4 (01:08:54):
Time frame.
Speaker 3 (01:08:55):
Just to kind of put this into a setting for use.
As to an expectation you can expect, I would say
within the first two weeks you should start to see
a noticeable shift in the size of that, and by
the time you're six weeks out of doing that, you
should really be able to you know, when you feel that,
(01:09:15):
you're gonna say, oh, yeah, this is this is much
much improved. If not, then definitely follow back up with
me and we can try something else. But this is
you know, kind of the the expectation that I would
set for you is, you know, within the first two
weeks you should start to see a minor change in that,
and by the time you're six weeks out, you should
see a much more significant shift.
Speaker 4 (01:09:37):
In the size.
Speaker 7 (01:09:38):
Wow.
Speaker 8 (01:09:39):
Well, okay, because I also have a shoo Shoomer's node,
a Shuoler's nod I think it is in my back,
So I don't know if that has well that help
with a node to nodule node are they're both the same.
Speaker 3 (01:09:49):
They are a little bit different and will it help, Yes,
it can help with minimizing the size. But with that one,
sometimes having it removed is because they're much more encapsulated.
So sometimes the brome lane has a little bit more
(01:10:11):
of a difficult time really penetrating into that, but it
will still help, but you know, not to the same.
Speaker 4 (01:10:19):
Degree as the cyst one.
Speaker 8 (01:10:21):
Finally, these are all could be a part of autoimmune
conditions though, because the PBNs is also an autoimmune condition.
Speaker 4 (01:10:27):
Yes, so, and you know.
Speaker 3 (01:10:30):
The best thing to do is to, you know, go
in and have some specific blood tests done to look
and see if you have different autoimmune markers that are existing,
and that just gives you the clear indication of yes,
these are and in your situation, generally speaking, what we
(01:10:50):
would expect to find is usually more than one autoimmune
marker that is positive. Does mean you know that this
is a major major issue.
Speaker 4 (01:11:04):
It just that's what we would expect to see, is that.
Speaker 3 (01:11:07):
Your immune system is basically dealing with two different autoimmune conditions.
Speaker 4 (01:11:15):
And this is.
Speaker 3 (01:11:16):
Why, like I said, that vitamin D status is always
important because it really does help to regulate the way
in which that autoimmune response is going to work.
Speaker 8 (01:11:26):
Now, my ANA was slightly elevated, right, And.
Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
That's why I said, likely you would have two things
because a NA is non specific but very.
Speaker 4 (01:11:40):
Sensitive.
Speaker 3 (01:11:41):
So oftentimes people can have a positive an A and
then they but it doesn't mean you have say lupus,
for example, but you you should always you know, have
more detailed autoimmune markers run so we can determine you know,
which specific can do are we dealing with, so then
(01:12:01):
we can be more targeted with dietary modifications as well
as your you know, everyday supplementation approach to best regulate that,
because with autoimmune conditions, we can't make them go away,
but we can definitely, you know, get.
Speaker 4 (01:12:17):
To a point where you can control and regulate those.
Speaker 3 (01:12:20):
And I've worked with folks who you know have MS
for example, and just through you know, different dietary modifications,
we can best regulate their condition. You're not changing the
immune system and those markers, but what you are doing
is you are kind of putting a stamp down on
it and saying, Okay, now you're going to have a
(01:12:42):
very difficult time with creating these problems for me because
everything else is you know, running in check. So same
thing within your setting is the better we know which
actual autoimmune conditions that you're dealing with, the better tarted
nutrients that we can use to But just based off
(01:13:03):
of your description of you know, what you're contending with,
that's really the best approach right now without knowing the
specific autoimmune condition is to you know, really double up
on those Omega three fatty acids. And then obviously your
vitamin D status currently we are assuming is quite good,
but the broma lane will make a big difference as well.
Speaker 8 (01:13:27):
Can I follow up with you at your office one
to call one day?
Speaker 3 (01:13:30):
Yeah, certainly, yeah, you can. You can always you know,
call the this is for everyone out there. You can
always call the the main number and ask them to
to patch you through directly to me. Or you can
shoot me an email which is a Williams at invitehealth
dot com. And I'm always happy, you know, if people
send me over you know, screenshots of their blood tests
(01:13:51):
or you know, send me a PDF file and I'm
happy to go through all of that and then I
can give you a call and we can go you know,
line by line and talk through you know, what those
results mean and how we then move forward, how do
we approach that? So yes, definitely reach out to me.
And if you have recent blood tests, I said, just
send me an email with those or you know, call
(01:14:12):
the main office and say, hey, I want to talk
to doctor Amanda and they'll they'll patch you.
Speaker 8 (01:14:16):
Right through to me, right right, Okay, I'll do that. Great.
Thank you for spending so much time with me.
Speaker 3 (01:14:21):
Oh you're very very welcome, and you enjoy the rest
of your day. So so that's an excellent, you know,
question that he had.
Speaker 4 (01:14:33):
Some folks may say, you know, he was using some
terms that I didn't know, but.
Speaker 3 (01:14:40):
Not to get too you know, into the weeds on this.
But when you're dealing with sometimes some underlying genetic components,
and you're dealing with an autoimmune condition, then you have
to be very targeted with the nutrient approach that you take.
So I know I'll be following up with John so
(01:15:01):
we can get more into detail with what his blood
work is actually indicating so we can get him on
the right path. But this is why we take calls
because we'd like to be able to better understand what
people are dealing with. And sometimes it's just you know,
a run of the mill sore achy knee, but other
times it's more complex. So by all means, give me
(01:15:25):
a call. I know that we need to squeeze in
a quick break, so stick around with me.
Speaker 4 (01:15:28):
I will be right back just after this.

(01:16:46):
to Invite Health Radio. I am doctor Amanda Williams. We're
having our spring cleaning event. Have that cerebral care, have
carnosine on that arginine the colon hx folks, which is
a combination of silium fiver along with bench night clay,
so very very targeted at tart the toxic build up
(01:17:07):
that can happen within our intestines. So excellent for spring cleaning.
I always say, seasonal cleanse of your your insides always
a good idea. But we are going to go to
William right now and see how he is doing on
this Saturday morning.
Speaker 4 (01:17:24):
How are you, William?
Speaker 6 (01:17:27):
Not that well? Because for the last five weeks, I've
been unable to walk with a stride and I walk
by not lifting my feet but sliding my feet along.
I haven't had an injury, and I was I just
was at a hospital to see what could be the problem,
and they could not provide me an answer in terms
(01:17:47):
of the the the the ideology of this.
Speaker 3 (01:17:52):
Wow, and it just started five weeks ago.
Speaker 6 (01:17:56):
I'm sorry, I said you said it.
Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
Started five weeks ago.
Speaker 6 (01:18:00):
Yes, okay. And it's been very very, uh disconcerting and frightening.
Speaker 3 (01:18:09):
Oh I can't I can't even imagine. And then to
to go in and have them not be able to
give you much help or any information.
Speaker 4 (01:18:19):
Let me ask, this is it both legs or are.
Speaker 3 (01:18:22):
You finding it predominant to to one side both both?
And is there a pain associated with it or just
a weakness?
Speaker 6 (01:18:32):
It's like it's some pain, yes, but it's like a
a tightening of the muscle that creates the pain.
Speaker 4 (01:18:41):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:18:41):
And are you on any medications?
Speaker 6 (01:18:47):
Yes, I'm on and and anti state or statin medicines,
and I'm on match foreman and uh shoot, hypertension medicine
all right.
Speaker 4 (01:19:03):
And do you know which ones that you're on for
your blood pressure.
Speaker 6 (01:19:08):
And load of pain?
Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
Is it? Okay?
Speaker 4 (01:19:12):
All right?
Speaker 3 (01:19:13):
And is another all right? And with all of those,
you've been on those for for quite some.
Speaker 6 (01:19:23):
Time sometime okay?
Speaker 4 (01:19:27):
And how is your a one C level.
Speaker 6 (01:19:33):
Average normal?
Speaker 4 (01:19:35):
Okay? So the met form is.
Speaker 6 (01:19:36):
Elevated by prior to the net forman but in a
better place now okay.
Speaker 3 (01:19:44):
So yeah, so it is obviously, like you said, it's
disconcerting to say, okay, you know, how can I have
just developed this, you know, kind of sudden weakness and
almost a shuffling gait. My assumption is that they probably
did an MRI of the the brain.
Speaker 6 (01:20:03):
They were too but all the time I always I
was really tired and they're having no answers for me.
Speaker 3 (01:20:11):
I left right, and I can see I can see
why your frustration would build up. Now, one of the
things that we can always look at is, you know,
the medications that you're on, even though you've been on
them for you know, quite some time. Over the length
of time that you're on a medication, sometimes those the
side effects can start to creep up. We certainly can
(01:20:31):
see that in the setting of you know, COQ ten
levels being pushed down, pushed down with statons. We can
see B twelve levels dropping with Matt Foreman, both of
which can create skeletal muscle weakness and a disconnection within
the nervous system and the way that the nerves are
feeding out to the muscles. We need to have those
(01:20:54):
nerves properly feeding to the muscles in order for the
muscle action to work properly. So, you know, these are
the things that I would, you know, obviously look at,
is you know, what is your COKE ten blood level?
And I know that your doctor and likely most doctors
will not test that. You know, what is your B
(01:21:14):
twelve status right now? Is it too low because of
the met form and because the met formant disrupts how
B twelve is absorbed in the intestines. We can look
at am lotopene too, that's going to lower your vitamin
D status potentially, and that can create a problem with
muscle weakness. So you know, it can be that there
is kind of a a comorbid situation going on where
(01:21:37):
you're dealing with the side effects of medications creating almost
a Parkinsonian like syndrome. And we see this with different
medications that they can do that creating kind of that
shuffling gait and the weakness. So there's you know, the
immediate approach is we can add in some different nutrients.
(01:21:58):
I would take methyl B one capsule of methyl B
to make sure that we're getting a higher amount of
activated B twelve in your system every day. And then
I would also make sure that you're taking ubiquenol, but
I would increase the amount so we have our ubiquhenol
with NADH.
Speaker 4 (01:22:16):
I would be taking two.
Speaker 3 (01:22:17):
Capsules of that formulation every single morning, so two caps
of the ubiquhenol with NADH. And then I would add
in the active HX. Active HX has HMB in that
which is hydroxy methyl butyrate, and we want to encourage
the muscles themselves to create energy once again. So I
(01:22:41):
would do a scoop of the active HX in the morning,
and then like midday, I would take a scoop of
the creatine monohydrate. An interesting study that was done many
years ago showing the positive effect that even in the
setting of Parkinson's disease, individuals with Parkinson's would take creatine
(01:23:04):
and that creatine actually helped with stabilizing muscle strength and
balance in those individuals. So, you know, for the immediate
because right now we don't have the nones. We don't
know what your coke ten level is, we don't know
what your B twelve level is, we don't know your
vitamin D level.
Speaker 4 (01:23:22):
But these are the things that you could.
Speaker 3 (01:23:23):
Start today that should start to make an impact in
terms of improved muscle strength.
Speaker 4 (01:23:30):
And you know, get you to a point where.
Speaker 3 (01:23:33):
You say, yeah, I feel like I'm on the upswing
as opposed to a continued down swing. So let me
kind of run through those with you again. So it's
the active HX. Take a scoop of that every morning.
Methyl B take one capsule of that each morning. Your
ubickmhenol with NADH take two capsules and you can take
(01:23:55):
those together. That's fine. Of that in the morning and
then midday maybe lunchtime is fine. You can do one
scoop of the creatine monohydrate and I would suggest that
you get started with that as soon as possible. And
if you start that, let's say you can make it
over to one of the stores today and you get
that those products and you start that today, even if
(01:24:18):
it's you know, later in the day that you you
get started with them, then follow up with me, you know,
by like the end of the week, you know, like
next Friday, and then let me know, you know, how
you're feeling, because I'm expecting that you should see some
some shift in that muscle strength, uh, just in that
(01:24:41):
short amount of time. So, like I said, you can
call now, what.
Speaker 6 (01:24:44):
About the medicines that I'm taking that may be comorbidly
problematic with the you know, the hypertension medicine or.
Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
So this is why we want to look and see,
you know, uh, on those blood tests if those medications
are the driving forces. You know, we can clearly see
usually with Stanton's you can look at your creating kinase
levels in the blood. We can look at the coenzyme
Q ten levels in the blood, and I said, if
that is where it's coming from, then obviously medication changes
(01:25:16):
you know, via with your doctor would need to be
definitely considered or done. Uh But in the meantime, just
to get you out of the woods and get your
your muscle action, you know, functioning better, it's gonna be key.
Speaker 4 (01:25:29):
So but you can shoot me an email after the show.
Speaker 3 (01:25:32):
