Get ready for tomorrow's nutritional science todayright here, right now, Happy
Saturday. Welcome to another edition ofInvite Health Radio. I'll be your host.
My name is Jerry Hickey. I'ma nutritional pharmacist, licensed pharmacist,
and I'm here for Invite Health, which is near and dead in my heart.
(00:45):
Now. Oh, it's summer,all right, it's summertime. We're
past the summer stollsts already. Solet's talk about some nutrition and some new
research. It's actually to do withcirkymen from the plant turmeric, from the
herb turmeric. So turmeric is avery complex plant. It has well over
(01:07):
one hundred and fifty different ingredients. Many of them are very good for the
brain, help block pain and inflammation, and also have some anti cancer effects,
So let's go into this. There'scenturies of use of cercumen and its
other various ingredients for treating arthritis, for getting rid of arthritic pain, and
(01:32):
it works very successfully and safely. So let's go into this modern science.
Many many human clinical trials published inpay reviewed medical journals. That's top of
the line. You can't get betterevidence than that shows that turmeric the plant
is great for authritic pain. It'sgood for other forms of pain too,
(01:52):
and I'll elucidate that a second ToughsUniversity did a review. Now, once
again, turmeric is the plant andis a massively important ingredient in the plant,
but it's not the only important ingredients. So when I designed products,
would what you know as kircumen themajor ingredient or one of the major ingredients,
(02:12):
I make sure all the other ingredientsare in there too, because there's
a synergism these these different ingredients supportthe utility of the plant for arthritis pain.
In other words, when you haveall these ingredients together, the carcumen,
which may be the most important ingredient, or at least among the top
several ingredients, really does a betterjob of really relieving arthritis inflammation and pain
(02:34):
and swelling. So when tough ToUniversity looked at it, they said,
hey, the plant boswelia, becausewe have to call biocurcument five oxen.
The five oxin is boswelia, thebio curcumin, and of course is turmeric
incomplete plant, but especially a lotof curcumen. When I designed biocircmin five
(02:54):
loxin, I knew that these plantssupported each other, that they come at
inflammation from different avenues, and thatreally helps stuff out the pain and the
all that stuff that you go throughwith arthritis swoll, the pain and the
swelling and the damage to the joint, ongoing damage to help prevent further damage
as much as you can slow itdown or maybe even help stop it.
(03:17):
The thing is that Thoughts came outand said, hey, we reviewed both
of these plants. They both work. In fact determiner. The curcumen is
so successful. It works as goodas drugs such as celebrates which you might
know is Cela coxybe or advil ora leave, much better than aspirin intalinal.
(03:39):
It really does work, and itworks safely, which is a really
important point because many arthritis drugs whenthey use over time and at a higher
dosage can have serious consequences. Theycan trigger a stroke, they can trigger
heart failure, they get damage tokidneys, There are consequences. Many of
them can cause severe bleeding, dangerousulcers, and the digestive tract. So
(04:04):
there are consequences too overuse of thosedrugs. So that's why I like to
buy a curcumin five loxin because itreally can help snuff out the pain of
arthritis without the dangers of the drugs, and in my opinion, it works
as well. Now if you haveto be on those drugs, adding to
(04:24):
buyer curcumin five lox in to thosedrugs will help them work better, so
you don't have to go to extremelyhigh dangerous doses because the higher the dosage,
the more you take every day,the more dangerous they become. So
even if you have to use thosedrugs because you have very severe arthritis,
and those drugs do help, there'sno doubt about it, but they do
(04:45):
have their consequences when overused. Byusing it, adding the buyer curcumin five
loxin to your drug, whether it'splaquinol, doxycycline, cell a coxin,
doesn't matter. Adding to buy aCirkman five loxin will help keep the need
for the drug lower so you don'thave to take a dosage high enough to
cause dangerous consequences for your health, serious side effects and complications. Now,
(05:11):
the Biocurrikman five lockxin, which isthe one I designed that also can help
with back pain and neck pain toa degree nerve pain. So I add
other other ingredients to other supplements toit to help with nerve pain, like
I'll add to alcohol with ala toit to help with the nerve pain.
And we've been very successful with helpingpeople. Now, the second thing for
(05:33):
a Biocurrikman five locksin, and I'mgoing to get to the cancer info in
a couple of minutes, the anticancer effects. The second very useful benefit
from Biocurrikman five locks is brain health. The boswelia which is the five locks
(05:53):
and reduces inflammation in the brain. And that's very important because people like over
fifty, they have accumulating levels andintensifying levels of inflammation occurring in their brain,
so do people with depression. Inflammationis part and parcel of depression,
and the fine loxin has been shownto be very effective and reducing inflammation in
(06:15):
the brain, which is good becauseonce inflammation in the brain, because that
really can muck up the way thebrain works. That can really affect you
mood in a terrible way. Butit's also a disaster for your memory.
Now, the biocurcumen itself, manystudies show it's incredibly good for the brain,
incredibly beneficial. They've shown that justtaking it improves brain function in older
(06:42):
people for about six hours. Soif you took the biocrectbin with five loxin
at your breakfast for the next sixhours, your brain would work a little
better. But it's more twid thanthat because it's helps seed the brain with
more brain cell. It rejuvenates thebrain. It turns the clock back on
(07:02):
the brain. See a healthy youngbrain. When you go to sleep at
night, or if you take anafternoon app let's say, for fifteen twenty
minutes, you release a growth factorin the brain. A bunch of them
actually called nerve growth factors, andprobably the most prominent one is brain derived
neurotrophic factor BDNF brain derived ner Atrophic factor, and this helps seed the
(07:26):
brain with hundreds of memory cells, virginal memory cells. They have been they
have not been damaged by anything relatedto Alzheimer's. They have not been damaged
by anything related to depression. Soyou'll see over time that it secures your
memory. Taking a product like biocurricuminfive oxen and I say a product like
that, because you can't just takeany turmerica or any circuman because they're not
(07:49):
well absorbed. They're very poorly absorbed. The biocarcument is engineered to be absorbed
well without adding chemicals to it.They reduce the particle size so you can
absorb it very effect actively and efficiently, like seven times better than regular termork.
So the thing is that when youtake the biocurcumuent fad lockx and it
will get into your bloodstream, itwill help reduce influence throughout your body,
(08:11):
including in your brain. But itwill help you with the release a brain
derived neurotrophic factor at night when yougo to sleep, and you're producing hundreds
of memory cells, so even ifyou lost some of the day before or
a week before, it doesn't matter. You're replacing them. It's really good.
Now. The biocurcument itself has beenused in cancer studies that are published
(08:35):
in peer reviewed medical jurtles for instance, they did a study with external beam
radiation to treat prostate cancer and theyused my biocarcument in that study. And
what it did it didn't interfere withthe radiation, but it prevented the radiation
from damaging the colon, because thatwas a problem with the external beam radiation.
(08:56):
It doesn't stop the prostate, Itkeeps on going and it hits the
colon. Wong damages your digestive tract. So by giving these patients to buyer
curcumen, they were preventing the damageto the intestines. But yet the radiation
was able to shrink and contain theprostate cancer, so that was pretty cool.
Then there are various studies using thecur for pancreatic cancer. For instance,
(09:20):
in Israel, they did a studyin pancreatic cancer where they were adding
celaicoxib and the buyer curcumen along withdrugs to treat pancreatic cancer and the patients
were doing better. So what Ihave to say here is important. The
biocurc is not the answer to cancer. The buier curc helps the answer.
(09:45):
It helps, it's part of theplan. But you know, don't take
them without talking to your doctor ifyou're treating cancer. But there's a lot
of evidence that a great product likebuier curcumin kicks and punches and rust cancer
and exposes it and weakens it,and it's easier for the other things to
(10:05):
treat the cancer, other more sophisticatedthings to treat the cancer. So now
they've looked at bone cancer, earlystage bone cancer, they've looked at pancratic
cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer. So the reason I bring this up
is I just found by accident whenI was reviewing research for this program yesterday
(10:31):
a previous study from Ludwig Maximilian Universitylooking at breast cancer and prostate cancer.
But these were mice. It wasnot men and women. It was not
men with prostate cancer and women withbreast cancer. It was mice. They
had put the human cancers into mice, and when they gave them the curcumen,
(10:52):
the turmeric, it was helping tostifle metastasis. See, that's the
really dangerous part of cancer. Ifcancer stayed put a lot of cancers wouldn't
be dangerous. You know, ifyou had cancer on your elbow, when
it stayed on your elbow, whocares? You know what? I mean,
but the problem is if that cancergets into you, like melanoma,
(11:13):
it gets into you, then ittravels to different parts of the body,
and then it's really dangerous because itcauses all kinds of metabolic biochemical things to
go wrong. So what they foundwas that there are chemokinds. Chemokinds are
a part of your immune system thatattract different cells to healing and infection on
(11:37):
all but certain chemokinds these immune cells, these part of the immune system,
their immune system messengers. These chemokindsin this particular family called the CXCL family,
the cx CL family, they reallycomplicate cancer. They foster the growth
of cancer, and they cause thecancer to move around the body, are
(12:00):
involved with the growth. They nurturethe cancer, and they help it metastasize
where it becomes truly dangerous. Sothey found when they gave the mice with
the mammary cancer, which is themouse version of breast cancer, it was
stifling these particular families of chemicals, the CXCL family, And they found the
(12:22):
same thing with prostate cancer, meaningand they found that this was blocking angiogenesis.
Angiogenesis is an important dangerous part ofcancer, as cancer releasing these chemicals
that give it a blood supply.See, the cancer is not supposed to
be there, so it doesn't havea blood supply. So with the angiogenesis
(12:46):
is forming its own blood supply andit's getting into the uter reason it's traveling
around the body. Well, thebiokirkan was stifling that, So this is
important information. In fact, thereare two reasons why I take bio Curricuman
five lot, because I take twoevery day with my dinner. One is
for my brain and the other isbecause I'm one of those people that forms
(13:09):
polyps. It's in my family. It helps me prevent colon cancer by reducing
inflammation in the lining of my colon. So that's been a successful part of
me preventing myself from getting colon cancer. I have to go to a break
you. There's so much evidence forthe biocurricumin five ox and for brain health
(13:30):
and for arthritis pain safely helping toget rid of arthritis pain and helping prevent
the damage from getting worse and worse. And there is accumulating evidence that it's
anti cancer. And in fact, there was just a review recently that products
like bier Curricuman really do have apotent cancer fighting ability and cancer preventing ability.
(13:52):
So that's why I'm taking it.I'm taking it to help prevent cancer
because cancer scares me, and I'mhelping it because it's good for my brain.
Okay, let's go to a breaktaury here, can you Invite Health.

(14:58):

welcome back, Happy Saturday, JerryHickey. It's summer we're in.
The year is half gone. It'salmost half gone, right, We're almost
at the halfway point through twenty twentyfour. It's amazing. Lutin and zeus
aantin are plant ingredients that help shieldyour brain, but they're really important for
(15:26):
your vision. They help protect youreye from sunlight and radiation and toxins and
drug side effects, et cetera.Because some drugs are toxic to the eyes.
And the problem is as you growolder, it gets harder and harder
to absorb Lutin and zu is antine. They're carotenoids. They're pigments and the
(15:46):
plants that attract pollinators and help protectthe plants. You know, for instance,
a plant can't move out of thesun. It needs something that's a
sunscreen. So plants help protect themselvesby being abundant in pigments, polyphenols,
coropnoids, things of this nature. So it turns out these ingredients are incredibly
(16:07):
beneficial for us humans. So therewas just a meta analysis on eyehealth and
nutrition that came out in the journalAdvances and Nutrition. Advances and Nutritions are
very interesting good journal. So it'sa meta analysis, which is probably the
best level of proof you can get. And a meta analysis they go through
(16:30):
all of these sites that supply researchstudies and they call out the best studies,
so they might wind up with onehundred studies looking for specifically what they're
looking for. In this case, they're looking at certain nutrients and eyehealth,
like zinc, like vitamin C,like lutin and z zan and like fissuals.
(16:53):
So that's what they're looking for,and they wound up with thirty eight
studies that were very powerful, andit showed that if you get the right
combination of nutrients, it really hasa profound ability to protect your eyes,
protect your vision, and even enhanceand improve your vision to a degree.
(17:18):
And it's not like you're wearing glassesand all of a sudden you could see
twenty twenty vision or Chuck Yeger,Chuck Yeger. Remember the guy with the
X fifteen that broke the sound barrier, General Chuck Yeger, he had ten
ten vision, ten ten vision. It's like, are you kidding me?
In any event over your life, damage accumulates in your eyes and it affects
(17:44):
the cells, and in turn, when you kill enough cells, it affects
the structure of the eye, andit affects the little organs, the anatomical
organs in your right is a lotof them that you need for good vision.
And this is caused by something wecall free radical And quite honestly,
talk about free radicals for most peopleis going to make them yawn and fall
asleep. So we're not gonna dothat. We're not gonna explain what free
(18:07):
radicals do. But basically they're rustingand killing eye cells and brain cells.
Because the things that are good foryour eyes are good for your brain.
Your eyes are attached to your braindirectly. Your eyes are directly attached to
your brain. So it turns outthings that are good for the eyes are
good for the brain. Let megive you a little lesson on that.
When you're taking eye supplement at first, have to travel through the brain to
(18:29):
get to the eyes. So therehas to be enough of the ingredients to
not only enrich the brain with thesenutrients, but some left over to get
into the eyes and protect the eyes. So there has to be a certain
amount of these ingredients in the product. That's why if you take a multi
vitamin lutine and it only has ahalf a milligram of lutine, there's no
benefit for that. You need likefive or ten miligrams of lutine to really
(18:52):
benefit the eyes when you're older. So damage your crews in the eyes for
these free radicals. It's kind oflike rusting and burning the little eye cells
and eventually you get degeneration of theorgans and this affects your vision. So
specific nutrients help prevent damage to youreyes, to the organs in your eyes.
(19:14):
So this is thirty eight studies. Now they found that a combination of
antioxidants and we have a product thatrepresents that. It's called Macula Advanced.
Macula Advanced Capsules. I take itevery day. I take two capsules every
day. From my vision, they'relooking at visual acuity, like how clearly
can you see glare recovery time likeyou're driving at night, or you're driving
(19:36):
in a rain or snow and theoncoming headlights blind you. How quickly do
you recover from that so that youdon't have an accident? Contra sensitivity like
seeing something clearly, Like if you'redriving in the rain and there's a dog
running across the street, can youpick the dog out and not kill the
dog and not have an accident? So they found that and xiuzantine when they're
(20:02):
in the presence of antioxidants like zincand vitamin C really work the best for
improving clear vision. How far youcould see, how well you could see
at night, how well you couldpick things out like a storm or just
you know, how you could focuson things, and how quickly your eyes
(20:23):
adjust. Clearness of vision, andalso glare recovery, which is really important
because you know, I have friendsmy age. I'm seventy, I have
friends my age. You say Ican't drive at night because I get blinded
by the headlights and it takes mea long time to come back from that.
And I'm saying, well, youknow I recover really quickly because I
take these supplements, So why doI have to take them? Because when
(20:45):
you get older, it gets difficultto absorb these ingredients. Even from a
really good, well rounded, intelligentdiet, it gets hard to absorb these
nutrients. So you need help, and the help is in the form of
a supplement. And in this casewe're talking about Macula Advanced HX. Now
I have a stack of letters andemails from clients how this helps them drive
(21:14):
at night. Like I had acouple of people who are professional drivers like
trucks and limousines and taxis and liftand all that, and they tell me,
you know, I was having troubleat night. My eyes were tired,
it was hard to pick things out. They was bothering me. I'm
putting together all these letters now,and this stuff has really ensured my confidence
(21:37):
that I can keep on driving professionally. I can keep on making a living
and feeding my family, because that'swhat it's all about, right. These
people are driving so they can makethe money, so they can feed differlily.
So what would I add to theMacula Advanced HX to really put it
over the top for your eyes, because it really is very complete. I
would add krill. I would addkrill. Krill has this pinkish pigment in
(22:02):
it called astzantin, which really powerfullyprotects your eye and your brain, and
there's a good amount of it inthere. Krill is the source, officials.
Krill has fish oils that are reallyimportant for your vision and really important
for your memory and your mood.Krill has coling for brain energy and vision
(22:25):
energy. And krill has phosphatides, and that's really important because you don't get
phosphatides officials. This is why Iprefer krilled officials. It's not that I
don't like fisiles. Don't get mewrong. Ficials are fantastic. I just
like krills. It has these additionalingredients. Because the phosphatides in the krill,
(22:47):
along with the ficials and the krill, they protect the integrity of the
cells in your eyes. In otherwords, the eye cells, your vision
cells, and your brain cells, your thinking cells, and all your neurons,
all your nerve cells, et cetera. They are housed in something called
the cellular membrane, and the cellularmembrane stiffens with age, and the krill
(23:15):
fish oils keep it supple and elastic. You need that, and the fish
oils in conjunction with the phosphatides andthe chaline improve the integrity of the cellular
membrane the housing of the cell, but they also allow signals to transfer,
(23:36):
vision signals, nerve signals, memory. Everything works better when you have the
ingredients in the krill. Now krilldoes more than nourishing your eyes. Krill.
The ingredients and krill have been shownto lower the risk of Alzheimer's disease
(23:56):
and other forms of dementia, includingParkinson's and Parkinson's dementia, Louis body dementia,
all dementia's. They've been showing ifyou get these ingredients every day,
they help prevent dementia as well asnurishing and protecting the eye. So if
you don neat macula advanced a checksalong with the krill, you're really reversing
(24:19):
age in your eyes and your eyeswill thank you for it. You'll see
about it. It'll be harder totrip over something at night in the low
light, you know, if youhave low light situation in your house.
Not that you shouldn't improve the lightingin your house at night, you should,
but you know, you know, one trip or if you're driving in
the dark or in the rainstorm orsnow or sleet or anything like that.
(24:41):
Everything will be better. Everything willbe better. But the krill also lowers
are really nasty fat called triglycerides. You make triglyrides when you eat fatty meats.
You make triglycerides when you eat anythingsugary, bread, pasta, potatoes,
rice, any kind of dessert, any kind of bread or bun,
(25:06):
anything like that, you make triglycerides. Now, if you do a lot
of very physical work, don't worryabout it. You're going to burn them
up. Okay, So if you'rea lumberjack and you're eating all these triglyceride
producing foods, not a problem.Your muscles are going to burn it when
you're chopping down trees. But mostpeople don't work like a lumberjack. They
(25:30):
work like an IT person. Theygo behind a computer or they're watching the
TV, etc. So the triglysridesbuild up and they clog the heart,
and they damage the liver, andthey cause strokes and heart disease. They're
even bad for your pancreas and possiblyyour kidneys and lungs, but that has
(25:51):
yet to be determined. But itseems that they also not only do they
seep into your heart and your liverand block circulation to your brain. But
they also seem to go into yourkidneys and other organs, so the lungs
can get that's disgusting. In anyevent, the krill really does a great
job of lowering triglycerides. So theycall it a typical American diet. But
(26:19):
you know, people are changing theAmerican diet hopefully, needing more vegetables and
more fiber and you know, mushroomsand drinking their green tea, et cetera.
But when they talk about that typicalAmerican diet with the steak and the
potatoes and the hamburgers and the Frenchfries and not enough salad, et cetera,
these are real people really at riskof high triglycerides and fatty liver and
(26:41):
heart attacks and strokes. They reallyneed to krill. They super need to
drill. They super need to grill. Now, the other thing about the
ingredients and krill, they've been shownto lower the risk of sudden cardiac death
by anywhere up to like thirty fivepercent, So that's really important. That
would say one hundred thousand lives ayear perhaps in America alone, if everybody
(27:03):
took a krill oil or a ficialsupplement. Sudden cardiac death is when the
heart suddenly stops beating, kind oflike a seizure with a heart, and
it doesn't start again. So onaverage, it might have gotten worse by
now. On average, three hundredand fifty thousand Americans, three hundred and
fifty thousand. That's a big number. Three hundred and fifty thousand Americans each
(27:29):
year their heart stops beating suddenly. There's no warning that they know of.
Only about twenty or thirty thousand getrescued from that. The other three hundred
and fifteen three hundred and twenty thousandpeople die suddenly. They can't even say
(27:52):
goodbye today, I loved ones. They're just gone. They can't even tell
them where to look for the willor it is a life insurance. They
can't say goodbye. They're gone. They're gone in minutes. So fish oils
and krill, the ingredients in there, and many, many, many dozens
of pair reviewed studies, double blind, placy be controlled, randomized gem and
(28:15):
clinical trials that are published in parreviewed medical journals show that the ingredients officials
and the ingredients in krill block suddencardiac death. By about thirty five percent.
So wouldn't that be about one hundredthousand people a year? A little
over one hundred thousand people a yearjust taking official or krill oil would save
(28:36):
those people. That's rather amazing fora supplement, don't you think. I
wonder if Staton saved that many people. But I know that fish oils and
krill will. There's a lot ofdata Showness, Okay, I have to
go to a break, Jerry Hickey, Invite Health. What two supplements did
I say for your vision? Isaid Macula Advanced HX and krill oil.
(28:57):
If you don't want to take krill, take Fisicials, but the crows a

That's eight hundred six three two zerofive seven two. Are going to invitehealth
(30:03):
dot com? Okay, welcome backto you here, you invite health.
Mushrooms are really complex foods. There'sa number of mushrooms. How they used
medicinally. You've probably heard of someof them, Metaki mushroom, Rishi mushroom,
Shataki mushroom, lions, main mushroom. We have a product called mushroommate
(30:23):
Checks that I designed and it hasall of these well researched medicinal mushrooms.
Now mushrooms are not a vegetable. They're not a fruit. They existed before
vegetables and fruit, according to theresearchers. According to the scientists, so
(30:44):
rishi and shataki and maytaki are excellentfor the immune system. Cordy steps is
excellent as an anti inflammatory. Lion'smain is excellent for the memory and the
brain. So wats in these mushrooms. There's a lot of things in the
mushrooms that have this power. Theyare polysaccharides, beta glue cans, beta
(31:11):
one to three glue can, bettedone to four glue can. So when
you combine all of these mushrooms, these eight mushrooms, like I did,
you get the full range of betaglue cans. Beta glue cans for the
memory, beta glue cans to suppressinflammation, beta glue cans to help you
help protect you from cancer because theyhelp the immune system work better. Beta
(31:33):
glue cans that help protect you frominfections with yeast, with parasites, bacteria,
viruses. And once again it's mostlythese beta glue can There's other things
in the mushrooms, don't get mewrong, but it's mostly the beta glue
cans that give the mushrooms this activity. Now I eat mushrooms maybe twice a
(31:56):
week. I incorporate rate them intoeggs and other things, and I enjoy
them. You know, certain blendsof mushrooms are delicious when you cook them
properly. So Lion's Main mushroom hasbeen shown to improve cognitive function. It
(32:20):
clicks your mood up a couple oflevels, so you're not a sour mood.
You have a quicker functioning brain.Your mind is faster, you have
an improvement in your memory. Yourattention span actually is better. Your focus
and attention span actually improves with Lion'sMain mushroom. The fact that other studies
just came out in the past coupleof months out have it in front of
(32:42):
me that shows Lion's brain. Lion'sMain really does have this impact on your
brain. So there's a number ofstudies on Lion's Man and brain function.
But to be honest with you, most of these studies have been in older
people. They haven't really taken eighteenyear olds and checked Lion's Main to see
if they do better in their chemistclass. But recently they gave younger people
(33:02):
Lions Maine and they found out theirbrain actually was quicker, you know,
people like in their thirties and forties. But most of the studies on lion's
maine and mushroom have been in peoplein their fifties sixty seventies and it really
had an impact on their brain andtheir memory. So what about the immune
system. Well, a study justcame out on women. It's in the
(33:25):
British Journal of Nutrition. It wasa very interesting study and they found that
it's a brand new study on rishimushroom. There's a lot of studies on
rishi mushroom, which is also calledGanidera lucidum, rishi mushroom, Ganoderma lucidum,
Ganoderma lucidum that it really does balancethe immune system. The polysacchrides in
(33:50):
rishi mushroom, which are called betaglucams, really functioned in these aging ladies
to reduce inflammation throughout their and theirliver and their kidneys and their heart and
their lungs and their brain and theireyes. It was reducing inflammation by restoring
the ability of the body to controlthe immune system. But it got better
(34:14):
than that. They were also betterequipped to fight off a fungal infection fungal
infections are killing like a person everyminute on the planet Earth. Fungal infections
are getting more and more dangerous. The anti fungal drugs like nice statin aren't
functioning that well anymore, so they'regetting these drug resistant fungal infections and people
who are weakened, who wind upin the hospitals, and that's it.
(34:37):
They're done. So they found outthe reaching mushroom helps improve the parts of
the immune system that fight off fungalinfections because don't forget, mushrooms can grow
in dark, damp areas. Theyhave to be able to kill off all
these different molds and things. Theyhave to be able to kill off all
these molds that can infect us,all these moles and these these different fung
(35:00):
guy. So the mushrooms help youfight off fungal infections. They help you
fight off viruses, all viruses, any virus because they click up the ability
of the immune system to recognize andkill a virus, but also bacteria.
Those people die from bacterial infection. It's very dangerous. You know a certain
(35:23):
amount of cancipations. People would goto immune disease et cetera. Why not
put severe bacterial infections. The peoplewould auto immune disease because the drugs are
run and these bacterial infections. It'sjust really serious. So you take the
mushroom Made checks, your brain isquicker. How many do you need today?
(35:44):
One or two? You take itwith food. You can sprinkle it
in your eggs. It's mushrooms. There's nothing, it's just freezed ride.
We suck out the liquid and weleave behind the mushroom because mushrooms are mostly
water. If you've ever I lovedthe cook and you chop up this big
man of mushrooms and you put itin a pan and you cook it down,
(36:04):
there's practically nothing left. It's likespinach. You get it. You
get three bags of spinach and youput it in a pot and you cook
it and at the end there's there'snothing left. It's the same with mushrooms.
They're all moisture. So when youget this capsule of the mushroom,
Mate checks eight hundred milligrams. That'sa lot of mushrooms. So your brain
will work better. Your brain willbe quicker and maybe sharper, and you'll
(36:28):
be more focused, et cetera. But also your muses was going to improve
and it's going to happen rather quickly. These things work very quickly, and
you're going to have less inflammation inplaces like your liver and your pancras and
your kidneys and your heart and yourlungs because that's what the correct mushrooms will
do. Feel so mushroom, mate, Jacks. I don't talk about it
(36:51):
very often, but when I sawthis new study on a reaching mushroom in
elderly women or aging women, helpingrestore yourmmuses and the oper function, or
on the one hand, it doesn'tattack you and cause inflammation and damage,
but on the other hand, youbetter equip the help photo off cancer and
viruses and bacteria. I said, you know what, I need to talk
about this. It's an important thing. It's an interesting thing, and it's
(37:12):
an important thing. Now. Anotherthing I don't talk about is L theanine.
L theanine is this kind of Maverickamino acids. Most amino acids work
together. They make proteins, theymake hormones, they make enzymes, et
cetera. They make your body. You're made out of amino acids. Your
body's made out of amino acids. In the water. Althenine is more of
(37:36):
a maverick. It works on itsown. You get it mostly from the
green tea plant. So when thetea is green, that's when you get
lthenine. So that's why if youdrink a cup of green tea, you
don't get hyper and your blood pressuredoesn't go up because there are caffeine like
substances in the green tea, butthe theanine prevents them from doing anything.
(37:58):
But what does the theenne do foryou? Fianine L nine th h E
A n I n E calms youdown without making you sleepy. For instance,
when I was running Invite the nutritiondepartment, I had all these nutritionists
and I had doctors calling me allday long and nurses coming in to see
(38:19):
me. In all my brain hadto be fast. But after I smoke
with those people, then I'd haveto go to a radio show. Then
maybe I had to go write anarticle. Then I had to design something
for the website. Then I hadto go design a label. Then I
had to go design a product. Then I was back to talking to a
doctor. Your brain has to keepon switching tracks. You need a lot
of focus for that. The Ltheanine. If I had a really crazy
(38:42):
day with a lot of stress.L theanine helped me focus by taking away
all the stress. It took awayto stress. When you take l theanine,
you feel like you're walking on thebeach with your best friend after a
glass of red wine. I meanyou feel I'm not saying you feel drunk
or or woozy. You feel. You feel happy, You feel there,
(39:02):
you feel like you're won with themoment. That's why the Buddhist monks like
to drink green tea when they're doingtheir deep meditation. They're doing such deep
meditation that pain goes away, theirblood pressure drops, their heart rate drops,
et cetera. Their brain gets rejuvenated, they live for a long time,
they have blood fats like cholesterol areimproved. I mean, it's amazing
(39:25):
by getting ready to stress hormones withthe deep meditation. But to help keep
them on track, they drink greentea. And the reason for it is
the green tea has the elthienine, but there's really not enough of it to
help you cope with New York,Okay, or New Jersey or Connecticut.
Modern times need modern answers, andelthianine is one of them. You take
(39:51):
one hundred milligrams. That's why wehave any capsule, and pretty much it
smooths out your entire day and youfeel the effects within. I mean it's
a media, it really is immedia. You feel calm, but you're not
sleepy. So if you had tobuild something with a hammer and a sow,
you'd be safe using power tools. If you have to write an article,
(40:14):
you'll be better at it because it'seasier to focus and be creative.
Because althenine also stimulates alpha waves. If you're conducting an orchestra or you're playing
that shallow at a concert, youralpha waves are raging. They help you
be creative. If you're writing abook, alpha waves. If you're a
musician, a poet, alpha waves. So althenine not only relaxes you by
(40:37):
getting rid of stress hormones, itkind of boost the alpha wave production so
that you could be more creative. So you're calm but yet creative and not
sleepy. Now. I also douse it at night because it'll relax you
enough if you have trouble sleeping everyonce in a while general because my wife
(41:00):
or my dogs woke me. Idon't wake up on my own, but
my dogs will wake me at threein the morning, or my wife will
wake me. I can't get backto sleep because my brain starts working.
Because once I have an hour ortwo of sleep, my brain's ready to
go. I'll get up and I'lltake too Healthy and Ean go back to
bed and with ten minutes sound asleep. But yet when I need to wake
(41:23):
up, there's no after effect. It's not like you have a hangover from
it. You're like, you takea sleeping pill. I don't. I
never have, but I know fromall my clients, if you take a
sleeping pill in the morning, youcould feel the after effects of it,
like your brain is slow, it'shard to wake up, it takes a
long time to wake up, youfeel groggy. You don't feel groggy in
the morning. With Healthy and Ean. If you're having trouble sleeping, try
(41:47):
to Healthy and Eat. Take twocapsules at bedtime. You get to sleep
faster, you sleep sounder, you'dbe more refreshed, and it's not gonna
be hard to wake up if youneed to, and you won't have any
hangover from it. You won't feelgroggy in the morning from it. You'll
feel better. But in the daytime, if you stressed out, take a
capsule. Is it safe to giveto your kid with ADHD. You know
(42:12):
a lot of people with kids withADHD around anytime the kids go crazy.
I mean, the kids can't helpit. One hundred milligras in althenie to
be very safe with them. It'snot habit for me, it's not dangerous.
They'll be calm, they'll be ableto eat their dinner and then do
their homework. Okay, let's goto a break where you hicy Invite health
elthenine. That's the thing that helpsyou with sleep and relax. When we
(42:36):
come back, I'm going to tellyou about the studies that just came out
about elthenine, why I brought itup in the first place. We'll be
right back. Take advantage of inviteHealse New Products specials introducing our brand new

two, or go to invitehealth dotcom. Okay, welcome back. That's
the last segment of the program. You know, I'm telling you about supplements.
I don't only speak about but thesesubstment supplements have value, they give
benefit. We know how to usethem. So after the show, if
you need some help with your nutrition, with your herbs, with your vitamins,
call up or come in or goon the website Invite health dot com
(44:07):
and deal with our nutritionists. There'sno charge for that. That's the correct
way to sell a supplement because wewant to do the right thing for you.
We want to help you. Now, the reason I brought up elthening
in the first place, I said, if you take two at night before
bed, it helps you sleep.Or if you wake up prematurely and you
have to get back to sleep andyou have in trouble to take to wealthening,
(44:28):
it'll help you sleep without any hangovereffect when you have to wake up.
But I also said, in thedaytime, you take one capsule that
relaxes you. It gets rid ofstress, and it helps you focus and
even may help you be more creative. Well, studies have come out on
lthening taking stress hormones away from animmune system, so the immune system works
better if you're stressed out person. There are studies elthening helps lower your blood
(44:51):
pressure if you're nervous and making yourblood pressure go up. Those are good
things. So you know, somepeople get stressed out, their blood pressure
goes up. Elthening helps pre andhelps treat that. But also they're finding
out elthenine has an important impact onthe brain by taking away the effects of
stress hormones on the brain. Ifyou have an overabundance of stress, hormone
release. Because you have a stressedout life, it can kind of kill
(45:13):
the nerve innings in the brain andthat's no good for your memory. The
theenine prevents that from happening. Sothat's the reason I brought up elthenine.
And they also found out a housewith nervous eating. Some people are nervous
and they keep on eating. Youtake an elthenine, it gets rid of
distress. You don't keep on eating, So el theenine's cool. Now.
(45:34):
Rick has been working with Invite Healthfor an awful long time. He started
out with me when I had Hickeychemists. Invite Health used to be Hicky
chemists. I don't know if you'veever heard that name. That's my name.
I used to have three pharmacies andI had all these nutritionists and doctors
working for me. I sold surgicalsupplies, I sold nutrition. It was
(45:57):
really cool. And then I partup when a company started by doctor Andrew
wil and doctor Sam Benjamin called InviteHealth. Actually it was called Mariposa bectim
like a butterfly. Mariposa is abeautiful word. It's the Spanish word for
butterfly. And then we chase itto Invite Health like an invitation to good
health. That's Andrew Wild's recommendation changedthe name to that, so I said
(46:21):
okay, and I worked with abunch of formulas with Andrew Wild, some
of the original formulas, and it'sa great company. They make really clean
products with super high quality ingredients thathave been used in human clinical trials that
have published in pair reviewed medical journals. So we know what to expect for
these supplements, what they'll do foryou. We know that they're safe,
(46:43):
we know how much to give you. They're fresh, they're a highest quality
of the ones used in human clinicaltrials. But also there's the nutritionist there
to answer your questions then, soit's not just great products, it's great
recommendations and great advice. So thatInvite Health is I think probably the only
company with the complete package, otherthan maybe the Life Extension Foundation. Yeah,
(47:08):
you walk into most of these healthfood stores, etc. You're not
getting people who went to school andgot a degree in nutrition. I mean
really went to school like NYU,etc. Or Harvard and got a degree
in nutrition. You get that atInvite Health. So I want to make
sure you walk out with the correctsupplements when you leave our stores. That's
(47:29):
why we have the nutritionists. Sotake advantage of that. Speak to these
nutritionists if they're really giving wonderful people. Rick who I mentioned, who's been
with us since we had Hickey Chemists, which converted to Invite Health when we
got on board with doctor Andrew Wild. He keeps on telling me, Jerry,
(47:50):
we have a new probiotic doctor,Amanda Williams medical doctor training, biologist
training. I mean, she's justbrilliant. She designed it. It's called
probiotic immune, probiotic immune. Andhere's the thing. You get probiotic bacteria
(48:14):
that help the immune system work properly, Like the help prevent analogies and help
prevent autoimmune diseases and help prevent inflammation. But on the other hand, help
the immune system recognize infections like avirus, like a fungus, you know,
yeast, like parasites, worms, helmets, that's the other name defense
a name for worms is helmets bacteria. That's what these probatics do. But
(48:37):
you're also getting zinc and vitamin D. You won't need to take a vitamin
D supplement anymore if you take theprobiotic immune. There's enough vitamin D in
there. For just about anybody. So the zinc is really important when you're
older. You can't absorb zinc fromthings like oysters or anything anymore. You
know, oysters are the foods withthe most zinc right. Hard to absorb
(49:00):
zinc when you're older from food. It's hard to break it down and release
it from the food. So youneed a zinc supplement when you're older.
When they gave older women and anursing home and assisted living home zinc,
if they got their blood zinc levelsup, it was preventing pneumonia and preventing
(49:22):
the flu and helping them stay alive. These are very weakened people with Alzheimer's
and maybe they had a stroke andthey broke their hip, but they broke
their spine. They were in anassisted living home. So when they gave
them zinc, they really helped preventinfections. But yet zinc also is great
for your eyes and your brain, for digestion, you know, releasing insights
(49:45):
to break down your food, forcontrolling your blood sugar. Zinc is really
for building skin and hair and nailsand muscle. I mean, zinc is
really amazing for keeping the arteries andthe heart clean. Zinc does all that.
So when you get the probatican immune, you're getting the zinc and you're
getting the vitamin D. Vitamin Dis in David, So why would probiotic
(50:07):
would zinc and vitamin D be importantfor the immune system? Immune cells require
vitamin D and zinc to function, and the function properly to not attack you,
but to attack a cancer cell,or to attack a virus or attack
of a bacterium. But about seventypercent of your immune system is involved with
you're digestive tract. So by givingthe correct probiotic bacteria, in this case
(50:31):
a certain strand of leactibcils case Iby Feta Bacterium loungui, electiveciss rhagnosis and
electibisilics as apophilis, you're restoring immunesystem health to the intestines, to the
brain, to the lungs. You'rehelping protect women's breasts and uterus and the
urinary tract. You're really doing acomplete job here. But I'm going to
(50:54):
tell you something that really hasn't gotteninto circulation yet. They just did a
review, a major, massive reviewof the bacteria that are involved with Alzheimer's
disease and other forms of dementia likeLouis body dementia and Parkinson's dementia. And
(51:15):
there's certain bacteria that are involved withcausing dementia, but lacking one type of
bacteria also causes dementia. So havingcertain strains of bad bacteria cause dementia,
but lacking one allows you to havedementia. According to this phenomenal research,
(51:37):
this new research, it's by fetobacterium. People who lack by Feto bacterium have
a higher risk of Alzheimer's disease andLouis body dementia. So you get by
feeda bacterium longomen here. So notonly is it good for the immune system,
(52:00):
Not only is it good for yourantioxidant defenses and help event infections and
help the immune system your natural killercells that set are recognizing kill cancer cells.
But it's good for your break. So I mean, when you use
nutrition cleverly, it really has aprofound effect on your ongoing health. Now
(52:22):
every day I try to drink greentea every day because green tea has been
shown to lower the risk of heartdisease and cancer. Okay, green tea
according to Harvard and Yale and allthese other great research institutions has been shown
to reduce the risk of a wholebunch of cancers and heart disease and heart
(52:43):
attacks and strokes, so all thosethings. Who needs them. So every
day I take I do brew greentea, but if I can't, I
take a green te HX. Forinstance, recently, I've been joining an
organization that's to take a lot ofmy time, and I'm really cool with
that. But on those days I'mnot going to be able to brew green
(53:07):
tea, I'll take a green THXcapsule. And the green THHX capsule is
equal to about three cups of greentea as far as the polyphenols, so
I know, like if I giveit to my wife, it helps lower
her risk of breast cancer. Andif I give it to me, I
know it's helping to lower my riskof dangerous prostate cancer as well as for
(53:28):
both of us, helping to preventclogged arteries and the heart, you know,
heart disease, stroke, and heartattack. That's what the data shows.
That's what a large volume of highquality research shows lowers risk of prostate
cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, possibly other cancers. But there's not
(53:50):
enough data on that like there's alittle data on ovarian cancer and other cancers,
but there's really a good amount ofdata on prostate cancer, breast cancer,
and colon cancer. And I dobelieve that green tea helps lower you
can developing these cancers. But there'seven more research that health prevent strokes and
heart attacks, and you know what, I'm on board. So on the
days when I go to this organization, if they accept me, I'm waiting
(54:14):
for credentials and clarence, those daysI will do the green THHX capsule because
that's like having three three and ahalf cups of green tea. Now I'm
just about at a time. Wehave a website, invite health dot com,
and there's a lot of podcasts onthere, so you can any day
(54:35):
you want, you could go intothe invite health website and type in the
need like depression, sleep, energy, and do it with the podcasts.
There's hundreds of them, and thepodcast that relate to that will pop up
and you can hear some really goodinformation, mostly done by doctor Aman Williams
and myself Jerry Hicky, but alsodoctor Patricia Selassie does some of them.
(54:58):
And don't forget even though I'm morethe air in a couple of seconds.
