Speaker 13 (08:07):
And now here's your host.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Welcome back to the program. Mom's Zev Brenner. Everybody knows
the terrible tragedy of the horrific massacre that took place
in October seventh at the Nova Festival in Israel. And
we're speaking right now one of the survivors who went
with his brother to the Nova Festival. I'm talking to
Ron Sega from Tel Aviv. He is a world champion

(08:33):
bridge player. He received the World Champion Reward award in
two thousand and six. He became a salesman after that,
and he and his brother survived the Nova Festival massacre
of October seventh.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Though, thank you for joining.

Speaker 14 (08:47):
Us, Thank you for having me.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
So just tell us a little bit about yourself.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Growing up, you were near Tel Aviv, you moved to
Tel Aviv, So tell us about yourself. You grew up
loving bridge, from what I understand. Then tell us about
your background.

Speaker 11 (08:59):
So I'm thirty eight years old. I was born at
eighty five at young People.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
By the way, you were born in young Keeper, Yes, and.

Speaker 11 (09:11):
I always had a strong connection to God, and I
believe in God since I was young. I studied at
a religious school since the first grade to the seventh grade,
and then I switched to non religious at the age
of thirteen. I started playing bridge at the age of fourteen.
I already worked in the industry. I've been running tournaments,

(09:34):
I've been teaching bridge online, and by the age of
twenty one, I already won the World Bridge Championship. And
I've been dealing with bridge for most of my life
until the age of thirty, and then I decided to
make a change.

Speaker 14 (09:49):
In my life.

Speaker 11 (09:49):
I switched to sales and I actually liked it. I
liked to learn how to influence people and how to
help people. H when I when I when I become
thirty eight, I actually the company that I used to
walk for just closed and it happened just two weeks

(10:11):
before the Nova Festival, and I was supposed to start
a new job just the day after, but unfortunately, after
the seventh of October, I couldn't do that anymore. Today
I'm not walking. I am speaking and sharing my story
to the Jewish communities, but not only I'm trying to

(10:31):
connect also to the Kitchen communities and try to make
sure that people know what happened on the seventh of
October and what's still going on, especially what we deal
with after the huge trauma that we suffered.

Speaker 14 (10:45):
So yeah, that's me.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
No, thank you for coming on and sharing your stories.
So what first? What brought you and your brother to
go to the Nova Festival? What attracted you to come?

Speaker 11 (10:56):
Well, first of all, some of the organizers of friends
of mine and we are going to these kind of
festivals for the last twelve years, so this is the
place that we feel most comfortable. You can be yourself,
No one is judging you, everyone is accepting you. Just

(11:18):
the way you are, and you can dress anyway want,
you can dance anyway want, And there is a lot
of free love in these kind of festivals. There is
a lot of happiness in these kind of festivals. That's
what we like, that's what we looking for, and we
go to these kind of festivals at least three times

(11:39):
a year, some years even much more. This is how
I feel home.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
So you go October seventh, you go to the festival.
Tell us about your going there and what happened? When
did you see the massacre? When you see the violence begin?
Take us there.

Speaker 14 (11:55):
So it all started at six thirty am.

Speaker 11 (11:59):
Suddenly the music stopped, and I couldn't understand what the
DJ said, but I remember looking at the sky and
they turned from blue to gray dog hundreds of forkeets
coming from Gaza toward Israel, and also hundreds of forckets
from the Irons.

Speaker 14 (12:14):
I'm trying to intercept the rockets from Gaza.

Speaker 11 (12:17):
We held a lot of explosions at the background, and
at some point we also held gunshots from very very
far away. We decided to take the car and try
to get away from there, but unfortunately we got stuck
at the traffic jam. And at some point the tailways
got to us and they shot the cows behind us,
and we had to I'm sorry for the noise.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
No, but you're reenacting the noise of traffic, because I
know we're speaking to Manhattan.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
But go ahead.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
So so you were the traffic, they were the terrors
were shooting at the cars behind you, and so what
do you do that?

Speaker 11 (12:55):
So many people just flit and me and my brother
and I didn't say. A couple of friends of us
decided to leave the car as well. At this point
of time, we got split. Me and my brother took
to the right and they took to the left, and
we lost them. We couldn't find them. At some point
we understood from Adir. We spoke with him on the phone.
We understood that he saw a police officer with a

(13:17):
gunshot in his leg and leaning from his mouth, and
we understood that we need to get away from the
main road and head to all the east. On the
west side, we had Gaza. On the east side, we
had Israel, so we had to run.

Speaker 14 (13:35):
Into the wild, into the nature, wild nature in Israel.

Speaker 11 (13:38):
I ran back to all the car to grab my backpack,
and I put two buttons of water inside. It happened
under fire and I was trying to hide between the cars.
I got back to my brother and we started to
run towards the east. For the first fifteen minutes we
felt that we are getting safer and the gunshots are
getting fil away from us. But after fifteen minutes suddenly

(14:01):
we held gunshots all over there, all around us, in
front of us, behind.

Speaker 14 (14:07):
Us, right left side, everywhere.

Speaker 11 (14:09):
At some point we decided to go down here a
little bit. There was a valley and we decided to
go downhill a little bit and find cover. And after
a few minutes we climb back and when we got
to the top, we held gunshots at the bottom of
the valley and we saw hundreds of people running for
the life. About thirty forty minutes later, while we were
running for a life and try to escape the tovies

(14:32):
and gunshots all around us, I think that more than
thousand bullets just fly around my body and luckily they missed.

Speaker 14 (14:42):
I didn't got hit.

Speaker 11 (14:45):
But around eight am we had we had a miracle.
The shots were directly towards me and my brother and
we go downhill a bit. We slide two ermeters down
and we stopped and when I tell my head back up,
see two tavists on motorcycles. I saw the rifle of
one of them. And at this point of time, I thought,

(15:06):
that's it. Those are my last moments. And I closed
my eyes and I was saying goodbye to my family,
to my friends. And when I opened my eyes, like
ten seconds later, they were still there.

Speaker 14 (15:21):
But suddenly they just moved on. They didn't even see us.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
And it was very easy for them to see. You
were clear, was you know, you can see them when
they as it.

Speaker 11 (15:31):
Was rectally, all they had to do is to turn.
They had to the left and they would see us.
But I can only assume that maybe they saw an
easy target, so they just went there. So me and
my brother climb back and we kept running, and since
me and my brother were both asmatics, we had to
make a stop and we find the huge three that
at this point of time looked like the cheer of

(15:51):
life for us, and we find cover there for I
don't know, maybe thirty second, maybe one minute, and we
had the gunshans getting closer and closer, so we decided
to keep moving and at eight thirty we find ourselves
pretty much alone. We always try to separate ourselves ourselves
from the big groups because we thought that the big
groups would be the easy target and this is where

(16:13):
the toes will probably go.

Speaker 14 (16:14):
So we were the two.

Speaker 11 (16:15):
Of us and at some point the always shoult directly
at us. We find cover behind the car, and we
were hiding on one side of the car and they
were shooting the other side of the car. And again
we thought that it's going to end here and we're
probably not going to survive. But our mentality is to
keep trying, never give up, never give up life, but

(16:38):
in general, never give up. And we had an idea
to call to another group of cows that were about
forty meters away from us.

Speaker 14 (16:48):
So we start to pull on.

Speaker 11 (16:49):
The ground and at some point, when I was moving
my right hand forward, a set of bullets hit the
ground just next to my hand, like ten or fifteen
centimeters away from my hand. And this point of time
I told my brother I skimmed, run, run, run, and
we managed to get to the group of cars and
find cover there, and at this point we felt again

(17:14):
there is nothing that we can do. And then suddenly
I had one of the cars that we were hiding
between was still running, so we ran to all the car.
We got in, I took the wheel, and we escaped
from the terrorists. And a couple of minutes later, I know,
maybe two minutes, maybe five minutes. It's very hard to

(17:36):
understand times in such situations, so it's not easy for
me to speak your articles out hundreds of times. It's
I'm very emotional these days. So we were running and
suddenly hundreds of people running to all the car and
asking us to save them, that they can they cannot

(17:56):
keep running, they cannot, they need water. So we opened
the doors and in a few seconds we were already
ten people inside.

Speaker 14 (18:04):
But we still didn't find our friends and.

Speaker 11 (18:06):
Even Sarah, and we kept calling them all the time
to make sure that they are still alive, and we
were looking for them for about forty minutes without finding them.
And at some point I thought, because we were driving
for so long, maybe we already passed them, so we
should go back. And when I say that, everyone in
the not everyone. Sorry, one of the ladies in the

(18:28):
car she was scared, and she told me, listen, you
need to save yourself, you need to save us, take
care of us.

Speaker 14 (18:35):
And I told her, listen, we are right now in
a safe spots.

Speaker 11 (18:39):
If you don't feel comfortable going back with me, just
get out, stay here and I would come pick you
up once I find them. I will not leave you behind.
And as soon as I said that, everyone in the
car supported my decision to go back, including this lady,
and we went back and for five minutes you couldn't
find them. But kiy, we managed to share location on

(19:01):
what'sapp and we understood.

Speaker 14 (19:04):
That the file away from us.

Speaker 11 (19:06):
They they covered much more ground than we did, even
with the cow. So we turned back again and we
found them. It was it was a scene like it
was taken from Hollywood movie. For me, it felt like
time stopped by and everything was in slow motion. And
when they got to the car, we decided to go

(19:26):
to one of the kidbou Sinne. Now, I want you
to understand that at this point of time, we still
don't know what's going on in the South.

Speaker 14 (19:32):
We had no clue.

Speaker 11 (19:34):
We thought, maybe yes, the autels, but the public a
taking only the festival. So we were aiming to get
to keep with Perry and we got stuck in the mud.
We managed to rescue ourself with the little help and
when we got to the entrance of Berry. It looked
suspicious to us. We saw the tie walkers on the
left side of the road and they looked terrified. And

(19:57):
Sarah she the yields from the back sits don't go there,
don't go there, And that's all I needed to hear you.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
We're speaking with the ron Segaf. He's a survivor of
the Nova Festival massacre of October seventh, formerly of Tel Aviv,
and he's also a World bridge champion, the winner two
thousand and six.

Shinato Bat, you're listening to Talk Line with Zev Brenner,
America's premier Jewish broadcast on the air since nineteen eighty one.

Speaker 13 (24:54):
And now here's your host.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
We're speaking with Run.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
He's a survivor of the Nova Festival massacre of October seventh.
So you don't go to Keybootsbury because you're suspicious. So
what happens you move on? Did you see any terrorists
to valu with at a Kibootzbury?

Speaker 4 (25:14):
Did you see.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
Anything any shootings or hear any bombings anything going on?

Speaker 11 (25:18):
We had the shootings and the bombings all the time,
but I didn't see people get shot or bodies or
anything like that, and that's a huge luck for us.
But I did see so many people while we escaped,
so many people that just freezed.

Speaker 14 (25:34):
And I know for sure that they're not with us anymore.

Speaker 11 (25:38):
So we kept driving in the open fields and at
some point we got to the road and my brother
told me, I think I'm having a heart attack. So
I was trying to get to so Loca Hospital and
on the way we saw a police call. So I
stopped next to the police car and I asked him
to get us an ambulance, and he told me that

(25:59):
there are no ambulance all over the south and he
offered us to.

Speaker 14 (26:03):
Go to a police station.

Speaker 11 (26:04):
I went back to my brother and I told him
and said no, I want only hospital. And that's why
we didn't stay there, luckily, because police station was attacked.

Speaker 14 (26:14):
And the results they are all bad. So we kept
driving and we.

Speaker 11 (26:19):
Got to the hospital, and luckily my brother didn't have
the heart attack. It was only a panic attack. I
know it's difficult to say only, but compared.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
To a heart better than a heart attack, that's for sure. Yes,
so he made it a Soroca medical center.

Speaker 14 (26:34):
Yes.

Speaker 11 (26:34):
So we got to Sohoka and it was around ten
thirty four hours later, and they still didn't know what's
going on. We were part of the first people that
gather and we explained them. Actually they didn't want us
to get into the emergency at the beginning, but when
they realized that we survived the massacre, they allow us
to get in. They took off my brother and we

(26:56):
stayed there for a few hours, I don't remember, maybe
three hours before hours. And while we were there, we
saw plenty of police officers with gun shots all over
the bodies and the blood was all over the floor.

Speaker 14 (27:14):
At some point they couldn't clean it. It was too much.
But there is one thing that.

Speaker 11 (27:22):
That I kept seeing, and each and every police officer
that got with gunshots wonders.

Speaker 14 (27:29):
They all ask what about my friends?

Speaker 11 (27:31):
What about my unit? And this is something that I
cannot forget. At some point we were going, we decided
to go out. We decided to try to go back
to Tel Aviv, and one of the police officers told us,
you cannot leave be Cheva, it's too dangerous. So two

(27:52):
brothers that we met there, they told us that they
live in Beersheva, and they took us. While I was
going out of the emergency. I was just pushing the door.
One of my friends came in with gunshots in his leg.
His name is a Pear, and it was an amazing
moment because he saw me and he was smiling towards me,

(28:13):
and he raised his hand and said, hey, Ron, how
are you? And I saw him on the bed and
I didn't understand why he's smiling, but he was so
happy to see us. He told me after that he
was so happy to see that you are okay and
to our life. And yes, has to contact his wife
and tell her, tell her that we're okay. His wife

(28:35):
was at the eight month she was pregnant eight months,
so we caught at her and we told her he's
alive and he will be be back home.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
It's an amazing story. And from what I can glean,
you've seen the intervention of God many times, finding a
car that was running, terrorists not looking in your direction,
not seeing you, shot a few inches from your hand
and you weren't wounded. Well, So have you changed religiously
spiritually because I know you went to Yushiba for about

(29:05):
six or seven years. Growing up does have any impact
as far as your religious and spiritual beliefs definitely.

Speaker 11 (29:15):
I always believed in God, but that day, I felt
that He's with me all the time. I had to
make so many decisions, hundreds, maybe thousands of decisions, take right,
take left, and they felt that He always showed me

(29:35):
the right way. And you know, I believe that God
always give us options. We can choose, but He always
give us the options. And I felt that every time
that I took a decision, he was there. He was
telling me, go to the right, go to the left,

(29:56):
run that way, run that way. And only a few
months later, it came to me that the first time
that God probably intervened was when we got stuck in
the traffic jam. Because when we were at the car
at the traffic jam, we were only four people and
we got stuck. So we had to one for our
life with our faith, and I believe that God wanted

(30:18):
us to do it because he wanted us to help others.

Speaker 14 (30:22):
And instead of four people, we got out twelve people.

Speaker 11 (30:26):
And a few days later we also find out that Sarah,
Sarah and add they are pregnant, so it's actually thirteen people.

Speaker 14 (30:34):
And you know how much this number is important for us,
the Jewish people. So I want to believe.

Speaker 11 (30:41):
I actually believe that this is why he wanted us
to go through this, to allow me to help others
and also now to be able to be the voice
of the NOVA community.

Speaker 14 (30:52):
I'm not the only one.

Speaker 11 (30:53):
I'm not official, but i can tell you for sure
that I'm speaking on their behalf and they think and
feel exactly.

Speaker 14 (31:03):
The same as I do.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
No, but on a practical day to day level, you're
speaking out, you know, working right now. I guess at
some point you're going to go back to sales, right,
Is that the game plan?

Speaker 11 (31:13):
No, I'm actually planning to keep doing public speaking and
make sure that the world know what happened. I'm we'll
be going to come back to New York next month
and stay a bit longer. I'm also I was also
invited to Germany and South America and Canada, so I'm

(31:35):
going to do it for quite a long time. My
original goal was to go back to Bridge. I want
to teach Bridge, I want to do some good to
the Bridge community. But I have to postpone this this
plan because I feel it right now what I do
is much more important and as long as I can
do it, and as long as I can be the

(31:56):
voice of my community and support the novel organization.

Speaker 14 (32:00):
And will do that.

Speaker 11 (32:02):
I guess I won't be able to do it for life,
but at least for the next few months, that's what
I'm going to do, and after that I would probably
get back to bridge the bridge.

Speaker 4 (32:12):
Now, how do people reach out to you?

Speaker 3 (32:14):
You're part of an organization, you're part You said you're
not part of the official Nova. Is there an official
Nova festival group that's speaking out? So how is it
that you were able to get all these speaking engagements,
whether it's here or Germany or elsewhere.

Speaker 14 (32:27):
Because I'm a salesman, I'm kidding.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
That's okay. You're a salesman, that's okay.

Speaker 11 (32:35):
Yeah, But you know, sometimes when you say salesman, it
sounds like I'm trying to convince people to do something.
I'm not trying to convince people to do anything. I'm
actually trying to help people when I did sales. But
I know how to approach people, and I know how
to tell a story. And plenty of people that came
to Israel to meet us, they had a chance to

(32:57):
hear me speaking at the festival location, and luckily I
touched their hearts and they always kept asking me what
can we do for you? And I told him I
just want to get to the US and tell my story.
And there is a nice rabbi from the Jewish Center.
His name is jos Slavin, and he said, we are
going to take care of you. We are going to
get you to New York. And a few minutes later

(33:20):
he sent me a message. Just a few minutes after
I met him, he sent me a message, would you
prefer to come on Merch or April? And I told
him Merch And he got me a plane ticket, a
flight tickets and the family, amazing family that hosts me
for eleven days.

Speaker 14 (33:36):
The Cardell's David and Wendy and.

Speaker 11 (33:41):
I got here and because I did a lot of
volunteer walk and also a lot of testimonies at the
South I met so many people and I just let
them know that I'm coming, and almost everyone wanted me
to speak. Right now, I'm like fully booked. I barely
have time to.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
Breathe I think Levin he's one that introduced us. I
know you spoke at the Jewish Center on a Shabbat morning.
I was curious the Nova festival. It was this, this
is this was more than one occasion that they had this.
This wasn't the first time, correct, true, they have.

Speaker 11 (34:15):
Two or three festivals every year. I think the first
time I participated the Nova festival was three years ago,
and I don't remember exactly the date, but I remember
being in the first festival, and I know the people.

Speaker 14 (34:29):
I know some of the people that organized this festival
for many many years. I walked with some of.

Speaker 11 (34:34):
Them at a night at the night club, and I
traveled with some of them to festivals around the world,
So i know them for quite a long time and
I'm very well connected to them.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Are they planning to do another festival?

Speaker 11 (34:49):
I can't tell exactly what are the plans because they
don't want to use the Nova name anymore. Uh. The
Nova is shifting to profit organization that is going to
take care of the survivors, memorize the dead, and also
build a Nova house so in the future survivors and

(35:10):
also others can come see learn and also meet each
other and help each other. But there will probably be
one huge event in Paca or Coon. I still don't
know if it's going to happen and when it's going
to happen, but the plan is to bring sixty thousand
people to connect to the NOVA community and to feel

(35:35):
and to see what we're all about.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Before I let you go, how many people were at
the festival? How many were killed wound? Did you have
any idea? But the numbers are yes.

Speaker 11 (35:45):
So three thousand, eight hundred and eighty people were at
the festival. Most of them are participants, but also people
that walk at the festival, like powerments and people that
had shops and called security. Three hundred and sixty four
people died murdered that day, and forty people were kidnapped

(36:09):
to Gaza Wow, sorry.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
No, No, it's emotionally. These are your friends. These are
people that you know, you've been with. So you had
so many murdered, so many captured. We know how many
were wounded because I'm sure there were scores of people
that were wounded as well.

Speaker 14 (36:25):
I am not sure how many were wounded.

Speaker 11 (36:27):
I but it doesn't matter because even if it's not physical,
then it's in here and in.

Speaker 14 (36:35):
Here, you know.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
Did you have to go through therapy yourself?

Speaker 14 (36:38):
Yes? I go to a therapy once a week and.

Speaker 11 (36:43):
It helped me a lot, a lot, and that's thanks
to the NOV organization and also Safe Out another organization
that helped treating us people with trauma. So yes, I
do treatments, but I must say that we don't have
it for free, and it's not going to be for
free for all the rest of our life. We have

(37:04):
only I think twenty four or thirty six meetings and
after that we're supposed to fund it ourselves. And that's
why I'm here in New York. I'm trying to waste
fun so we can get to itaments at least until
the end of the year. I know that also Safe
Out try to raise donations.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
So people want to help you learn more, but get
in touch with you. How can people reach out to you?
Where can they get a hold of you?

Speaker 11 (37:27):
First of all, you can follow me on Instagram It's
one dot Segev and you can get in touch with
me there. If not, then I can send you later
on the number and the link for donations. I would
love you to just post it page. Yes, thank you,
thank you very much, And you can also feel free

(37:48):
to contact me on what'sapp. I will also add my
personal number so you can contact me if you want
me to come speak or just to meet me or whatever.
Available for everyone.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
And I want to thank you for sharing your story.
I know it's not easy, even though you know you've
told the countless times. Each time you get emotional because
it is something which is you're a survivor. You're a survivor,
just like a Holocaust survivor surviving the Holocaust, your survivor
of a horrible massacre by Hamas terrorists who in many
ways maybe even more of our barbarians than the Nazis,

(38:19):
if that's possible, and I believe it is possible. So
I want to thank you Ron Segev for world champion,
a bridge world champion of two thousand and six.

Speaker 4 (38:28):
Are going to go back to bridge, maybe win the
championship again.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
I represent the Israel and listen, you were born in
Yim Kipur and you were you were saved by God
on Katoris media Sara's rights, so I know you're a
spiritual person. Then we appreciate you being here with us
and look forward to having you back again and then
God to give you extent to continue.

Speaker 9 (38:49):
Thank you very very much.

Speaker 11 (38:51):
I just want to say that I appreciate it, and
I just want to say one more thing.

Speaker 14 (38:55):
Before I leave.

Speaker 11 (38:56):
Please, all the Jewish community keeps spreading the good and
the lights and love. That's all we need and then
everything else will just get along, you know.

Three zero fifty eight hundred. Your feet will thank you.

Speaker 8 (41:34):

Speaker 14 (41:57):

Speaker 14 (41:59):
The best, Yeah, the holyest, most precious year.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
You're listening to talk Line with Zeb Brenner, America's premier
Jewish broadcast on the year since nineteen eighty one.

Speaker 13 (42:09):
And now here's your host, and you're.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
Listening to the talk Line network. As I said, I
know doctor Olivi for so many years. He's been a
pediatrist and he's expanded his practice over the last ten
or fifteen years that I know him. He's a sole
healer because that's many times the soulf for doctor Lee
who believes that open healing comes from someone's no shama.
You have to incorporate religion and also healing as well.

(42:37):
But he's is an expertly as a top skills dealing
with pedetary as an officis in Borough Park, flappersh Munsey,
including soul care, rephilexology. He has many patients statis've had
a lot of patients have come because it is broadcast
and he does care for nails and skin, nasty funnel
nails and of course painful ingrowns and if your feet

(42:59):
are not become I mean they should be coming to
doctor Levy. So doctor o Levy, good after knowing you
all these years, break to.

Speaker 4 (43:05):
Have you on the air.

Speaker 8 (43:06):
Thank you zev Shanatava and a complete healing for everyone
who needs it and of course the recovery of all
our hostages and they come home soon.

Speaker 15 (43:16):
The mayor of Bacaro Mamash and only piece the Ami show.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
So what is the major problem with people are having
with feet these days?

Speaker 4 (43:25):
What's the big issue?

Speaker 8 (43:27):
Tell us what's current is walking, especially for seniors who
are who need to be walking to get exercise, and frankly,
if they have issues with their feet as a flat
feet or any types of issues such as painful bunions
or menitarsalgia which is like ball of the foot pain,

(43:50):
you need really good customate orthotics or in some cases
prefab orthotics and that will help you walk better and
make you feel better.

Speaker 15 (44:00):
It's the bottom line. When your feet are better, you
feel better well.

Speaker 4 (44:04):
Your whole body rests on it.

Speaker 15 (44:06):
Right now, it's the foundation, it really is.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
Are people taking care of their health or they're taking
care of their feet or they given to defeat?

Speaker 4 (44:15):
What's going on here?

Speaker 15 (44:17):
That's a great line. By the way, I like that
people should not give in to defeat.

Speaker 8 (44:22):
They should look for people who know what they're doing,
and I believe on one of them and can help
them retain good control over their biomechanical issues, especially when
it comes to flat feet other types of issues with
regard to orthopedic care for the ankle and for the foot,

(44:44):
and I do a lot of orthotics and a lot
of different orthopedic devices and we try to help as
many people as we can.

Speaker 15 (44:53):
And it's all ages.

Speaker 8 (44:56):
It's from toddlers from two years old to people in
their hundreds, and I do see people in their hundreds.

Speaker 15 (45:02):
Actually a lot of centenarians out there now.

Speaker 3 (45:06):
People are not aware that if you have, for example,
water in your feet, that could be symptom of something
much greater.

Speaker 8 (45:12):
Right, edema, a severe edema could be related to cardiac issues,
but the most common is lymphedema, and that has to
do with a poor circulation and a lot of times
just coming to a digest will give you some insight
into hobble that can be alleviated.

Speaker 4 (45:34):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (45:35):
So it's question because you know, people don't realize that
you can have water in your feet and you may
be slow walking, but it could be indicative of something else.

Speaker 4 (45:43):
So you shouldn't neglect your feet. That's the message that
I know you've been talking to me.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
About and we want to share with our audience tonight.
As we begin in New Year, people have to really
put themselves back in order, and one of the things
is getting your health back. I knowbody's getting get ready
for Jantif, but don't think that your feet. Then you're
seeing patients in Borough Park, Flatbush and also up in
Rockland County in Muncie.

Speaker 8 (46:06):
Correct, Yes, I see all types of patients from all
walks of life, and no pun intend no.

Speaker 3 (46:14):
But really that's what you what you do now, this
is something which is so important to people, and people
are dealing with it. Now, what are some of the
issues that you're dealing with on a regular basis, So,
of course you do with the souls, you put souls.

Speaker 8 (46:29):
On the Okay, sometimes they come to me with heel pain,
with ankle pain, with just simple foot pain on the
either the ball of their foot or the middle part
their art yourself. And many times that can be alleviated
either through callous reduction and taking off calluses or corns

(46:50):
on the on the toes. But the main thing that
can be really helped, uh is through orthotic customed or
thought or in some cases prefabricator ethotics, and that really
does help for many people.

Speaker 15 (47:06):
It provides great relief.

Speaker 8 (47:08):
And that's what we're looking for, to provide great relief
so that you can worry about living, not worry about
sitting in a chair and looking at your foot, talk
talk to me. Fungus fungus fungus among us. It's a
very hard thing to treat. But we have compounds that

(47:28):
I have now prescribed that are excellent for it.

Speaker 4 (47:31):
Is it better to do laser to do treatment.

Speaker 15 (47:34):
No, I think the treatments are better. Lasers are good.

Speaker 8 (47:38):
The problem with lasers they're expensive and not a lot
of insurances cover them, and they returned, And the same
thing is with them taking something called lamisil tablets by mouth.
Many times it returns. But for some people who are
young and really don't like having any fungus on their feet,
lamisal tablets might be the ideal medicine, and sometimes laser

(48:01):
as well. We provide laser, but I'm a very big
believer in topical treatments such as compounds, which have different
types of medicines in it to act as a way
of working together against these nasty fungus you know, toenails.

(48:22):
So yeah, not a pleasant topic to talk about.

Speaker 3 (48:24):
But so what you're basically saying is laser can come
back when you do the compound.

Speaker 8 (48:31):
Times sometimes it doesn't, but many times it does. So
the best thing I mean it's this is one of
the most difficult items. Three is thank god, it's not dangerous.
But if you're diabetic and you get a lot of
fungus nails and you get a lot of ingrow nails,
then you need to take care of it and you
have to go to a podiatrist like myself. Nine seven

(48:52):
nine three zero five eight hundred.

Speaker 4 (48:55):
Well, why don't we say it again for people to write.

Speaker 15 (48:57):
It down nine one seven nine three zero five eight
zero zero so.

Speaker 4 (49:05):
People can take advantage.

Speaker 3 (49:07):
By the way, it's some Borough Park, Flatbush in Monsey,
and you've expanded your practice through a few different locations
in the last number of years since I recall.

Speaker 4 (49:16):
So a lot of people need help and.

Speaker 3 (49:18):
You're helping them all the regular I know we've been
saying in the spots, have been running with that, and it.

Speaker 8 (49:24):
Says rod lay Mavasa got your feet really good tidings
and fellows for Goli in his car coming up, soucus,
I'd be ready.

Speaker 15 (49:33):
So thank you so much, Zeh for the opportunity.

Speaker 3 (49:36):
Yes, and that is there online or people best to
call you on on on the telephone or you.

Speaker 15 (49:43):
Could text me. You know, I'm I'm a Texter.

Speaker 14 (49:47):
I can do it.

Speaker 4 (49:48):
Okay, let's go out the phone number one more.

Speaker 8 (49:49):
Time nine three zero five eight zero zero nine one

Speaker 4 (49:58):
They have that.

Speaker 14 (50:00):
There.

Speaker 3 (50:00):
