Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hanging for Mark.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Here's Ken Rosatto and it's always an honor to do so.
A Happy Thursday to you. And yes, I was the
guy who was on TV in New York for about
a thousand years, back when TV was a fake cardboard
box and a little piece of plastic and somebody would
sit inside the box and say, Hello, Sunday, we'll have
a TV. I've got Rosatto And yeah, I used to
be on Channel seven. I was there for twenty years. Yes,
(00:23):
they literally built the station around my body. I spent
some time anchoring Good Day in New York as well
on Channel five. That was a good time. Now I
host a daily show on a New Jersey based news channel.
It is called on New Jersey. We talked about that
in the last hour. It's one of these new streaming
channels which is free to the public. It's the next level.
(00:45):
The next generation of television is now this best. People
cut the cord. They don't want to pay for cable anymore.
So these channels are called fast channels, and they are
free and you can get them when you buy your
like Samsung TV or Sony whatever. They come with like
a thousand channels that are free. That's one of the
channels that I'm on on New Jersey. You can also
stream it on your phone at ONNJ dot com. And
(01:07):
I run a food website for you, Foodias. If you're
like me and you love food and all things food,
go to Thefooddude dot us. It's one hundred percent free
Thefooddude dot Us.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Well, we got a.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Lot to talk about today. Our phone lines are open.
We'd love for you to call up take part in
the conversation today, and the number is always is one
eight hundred three two one zero seven ten eight hundred
three two one zero seven ten. Well, of course, tonight
is the big Mayl Debate. It's on Channel four from
seven to nine, and David Ushery is going to be
(01:41):
taking care. David is awesome, so he'll do a great job.
Love David works with him. In fact, when I started
at Channel seven, David had just left Channel seven to
go to Channel four, and I had only met him
a couple of times, But anytime we see each other,
he could not be a nicer guy. And I know
he's going to do great. So, of course you have Curtis, Mom,
(02:01):
Donnie and Andrew Cuomo. Tonight, we have a lot of
people who are supporting Curtis. Even though he is third
in the polls, he still believes he has that shot,
and we keep our fingers crossed for him. Jeanne MONDAMMI
and Andrew Clomo believed that migrants should vote. I say no.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
They of phon no cash bail, I say no.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Mom. Donnie in the meantime has his own beliefs, of course,
and he has not been secretive about it. Yesterday, of
course he was on Fox News Channel. They could not
nail him down on a few things. Here's Mom Donnie
talking about Andrew Cuomo.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Andrew, you had your chance to lead this state. You
took that time to sell out working class New Yorkers
to your billionaire donors, and instead of actually meeting the
needs of people who couldn't afford to live in the city,
you gave nine hundred and fifty nine million dollars in
tax breaks to Elon Musk. And now you want us
to believe that we can't spend less money than that
to make every bus fast and free in the same.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
City fast and free. First of all, buses can't be
fast because the roads are congested. As long as you
make bike lanes everywhere. They're ubiquitous in New York City.
You know streets that are supposed to be made for vehicles,
and buy vehicles, I mean cars and trucks. You know,
liberals love their little bithickles. Let's get a little bithickles jingcingching.
(03:14):
Even people on bikes can't get from point A to
point B quickly. We do need roads for things like
cars and trucks. I will never understand it. I have
relatives and friends who live in Manhattan, and they get
very manhattan centric and arrogant and selfish about it, and
they say, basically, they just want their street locked down
and shut down forgetting that. You know what, You still
(03:34):
have to get food delivered to the restaurants. You still
want your Amazon package delivered to you, but you don't
want any means for that. You don't want the roads
to be utilized by motor vehicles. Can't have it both ways, folks.
If you want to live in a three thousand foot
tall building and have twenty thousand people in that building,
somehow you have to get supplies to them, and you're
not going to get it with somebody walking in or
(03:54):
coming in with a donkey. Okay, that's not the way
it works. You need motor vehicles. And then, of course
Cuomo is going to be there tonight as well, and
I'm sure he'll have his opinions about his two people
he's running against.
Speaker 4 (04:06):
Mister Mandami's plan for Rikers Island is either incoherent and
incompetent or diabolically manipulated.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
It almost took twenty seconds for him to say diabolically manipulative.
I was talking to my almost ninety five year old
father the other day about this, God bless him, and
we were talking about the cadence of Andrew Cuomo's voice
and how Mario Cuomo rest his soul. And I had
(04:44):
met Mario Cuomo a number of times. Mario Cuomo kind
of had that unusual cadence, that strange accent, strange by us.
It's sort of the Queen's accent from the nineteen fifties,
which for those I'm like an accent nut, the Queen's
accent from the nnineteen fifties has almost a Boston sound
mixed in with a strange slow cad So Mario Cuomo
(05:06):
sort of had that. Andrew Cuomo sounds like he's trying
to copy his dad. But going at one third the speed.
So you have this very slow cade. Thence Mark does
andrew much better than me. I'm not going to try
to keep going, but nonetheless, we'll see what happens tonight.
You have Zoron Mamdani in the polls leading by anywhere
(05:29):
from nine to eleven points right now, but who knows.
Hopefully people will watch tonight and they'll learn more about
what's going on, and also, more importantly, hopefully more people
come out and vote. Don't let the next mayor of
New York get decided on by about ten or fifteen
percent of eligible voters. That is just antithetical to our
(05:51):
democratic republic. Seven ten wore the Voice of New York.
It's Ken Rozotto. I'm in for Mark, and Mark will
be back tomorrow. For those wondering, Ken, we like you,
but get lost, we want Mark back. While I'm with you,
I like listening to the Mark two. I've tried my best,
so bear with me. We will take your calls at
eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten. Eight
(06:12):
hundred three two one zero seven ten. Well, now we
also have big news about the shutdown. The government shutdown.
The Senate held yet another vote yesterday. They're holding another
one today on whether to accept the continuing resolution to
reopen the federal government. Once again, the Democrats stood firm,
(06:32):
voting against the plan, thus keeping the government closed. So
when Marcus said this before, I've said this on my
show in New Jersey, this is the Schumer shutdown. Why
everybody in the House on the Republican side passed the
continuing resolution to continue the spending plan that was voted
on and approved by Democrats a year ago under Biden?
(06:55):
So why was it okay then? And we're only talking
about passing a continuing red that will last a few
weeks so we can continue the debate for the new budget.
Why was it okay then when Biden was president? But
it's not okay now. Democrats huhm. It is a as
they call a clean bill, meaning it was exactly a
continuation of the existing budget, and Democrats won't vote for
(07:19):
that in the Senate. Remember, in the Senate, you need
sixty votes to pass a spending measure, not just a
simple majority. Republicans have the simple majority, but they don't
have sixty votes. And CHUCKI, Chuck Schumer is ensuring that
they will not give any votes to the Republicans to
pass this. It's not just the Republicans, Chuck E Chuck,
(07:41):
it's to the nation. You complain for years that the
very thing we can have is a government shut down.
Well your party is causing it. This is the Schumer
shut down. So now Donald Trump has a middle finger
back to Chucky Chuck, saying that, you know what, the
Gateway Tunnel project, which is for billions of dollars and
(08:02):
is going to employ thousands of people in New York
and New Jersey for that matter. The Gateway Tunnel project
was made possible by a grant, a grant, not a
congressionally approved amount of money, but a grant signed in
by President Biden. And now that the government is shut down,
President Trump is the chief executive. He runs everything when
(08:25):
Congress is out because they're they're broke, right, the government's
shut down. So he has canceled the grant. He didn't
say temporarily. He said it's terminated, Chucky Chuck. This was
something that Chucky Chuck worked on for twenty years. This
was going to be what he left his legacy, and
it's now shut down.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Here was Trump yesterday, we're terminating those programs and they're
going to be terminated on a permanent basis. And it's
thousands of people, and it's you know, billions of dollars.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Yeah, that's what it is. CHUCKI Chuck. So now his
legacy is mud okay, and we all have to suffer
for it. By the way, yes, we need that tunnel.
We had mikeah Rasmussen from the Rebevision Institute at Writer
University on in the last hour. He's a friend of mine,
a political expert, and he pointed out that, yeah, everybody's
going to suffer because we need this tunnel. The tunnel
(09:13):
right now that connects New York and New Jersey is
what actually connects the entire Northeast Corridor for Amtrak and
all the other trains. And the tunnel is over one
hundred years old. The tracks are crumbling. We need a
new tunnel with new tracks and new technology. And now
it looks like we have a major setback. Do not
blame Donald Trump for it. You want to have that
track back, you got to open up the government, Chuck E. Chuck,
(09:36):
get your couple of Democrats in the Senate. All you
need is four or five Democrats to vote along with
every one of the Republicans except for one. The one
is Rand Paul. But every other Republican is supporting this.
Get to work and you could have your money back
in the meantime. Sorry, but it's going to be shut down.
Governor hokel all of shit about it yesterday said this, I'm.
Speaker 6 (10:00):
Not sticking it to New York. This is the Northeastern Corridor.
To make sure that our tunnels are safe. They're damaged
by Superstorm Sandy. They're over one hundred years old. We
need to replace them because if this system of transportation collapses,
the Northeastern economy and the economy the country collapsed.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
So why be so shortsighted.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Well, maybe you could talk to Chucky Chuck Schumer about that, Kathy,
and get a couple of Democrats to support the continuing
Resolution to reopen the government and we could get it back.
Do not put the blame in the wrong place. This
lies strictly with the Democrats in the Senate. Eight hundred
three to two one zero seven ten, eight hundred three
to two one zero seven ten. You're listening to seven
(10:41):
ten wo R the Voice of New York. This is
Canrosatto in for the Great Mark Simon mister New York
Mark has a day off, but he will be back
tomorrow so you and I both get to listen to it. Hey,
are you a fan of the late Diane Keaton? Was
she not amazing? A wonderful actress? She had just such
a likable way about her and everything that she did.
(11:03):
And we now find out how she died. We find
out that it was from pneumonia at the age of
seventy nine. You'll recall she died last Saturday. May she
rest in peace. And Mss Keaton, thank you. I was
a big fan. Thank you for the many years of
joy that you gave to so many people. Just a wonderful,
wonderful actress. Katie Porter remains absolutely cuckookachew missus Robinson nuts.
(11:28):
That's the congresswoman from California who's running for governor of
the Golden State. While she sat down for another interview
and she could not confirm to the reporter that there
weren't more videos of her screaming, losing her cool and
being angry, the reporter asked her several times, can you
tell me right now that we will not find another
(11:49):
video of you popping up on the days ahead, And
she just said, I've learned from my mistakes. I'm wrong,
I'm trying to do my best. The answer is yeah,
there are probably tons of videos out there. Why because
she's crazy. She is crazy. This is a woman you
could tell and boy, I'm going to give you my
dime store psychology here. This is a woman who was
(12:12):
never told no. This is a woman who was never
criticized by mommy and daddy, and you could just tell
she just got away. She was my daddy's little princess
and told that she could have anything she wants because
anyone who does anything around her that she disagrees with,
she just blows up at. Her own husband divorced her,
she dumped. According to the divorce filing, she allegedly dumped
(12:34):
boiling hot water with mashed potatoes on his head, causing
him to get scalded. Who does that? I mean, even
if you were seriously angry at somebody, if you ever
thought about taking a boiling hot pot of something and
dumping it on their heads, who does this? She may
have a very serious anger management issue, just based on
the videos we've seen and reading about that this is
(12:56):
just not acceptable. Yet she has a lead in the
polls right now in California fifteen percent granted, and there's
a big pool of people running for governor. It's not
in this November's election, by the way, it is next
November's election. But the idea that there are people in
the Democrat Party who are so crazy in California that
they are still standing behind her because as far as
(13:18):
she's concerned, she can do no wrong as far as
they're concerned, I should say. And while she is in
the lead, there are other candidates you people in California,
you know, including other Democrat candidates. By the way, although
if you're a political junkie like me, you probably would
support Steve Hilton, the guy who used to be on
Fox News Channel. He's the guy with the British accent.
(13:41):
Super brilliant. He just became a US citizen in the
last few years, very proud to be and he is
very proud to be running for governor of California. Remember
Arnold Schwarzenegger was a man who was a naturalized US
citizen as well, and he was a very successful governor
there in the past. So we'll see what happens. Steve
Elton's not too far behind. He's about ten percent in
(14:03):
the polls still have a year ago, but throw your
support behind somebody out there, hopefully somebody on the right.
Seven ten w R the Voice of New York. This
is Ken Rosatto in for the Great marximone on your Thursday,
eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten. If
you'd like to call in, we're going to take calls
next eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. Beautiful
(14:24):
sunny day today. Hihes today in the upper fifties. Time
is eleven twenty one. Will be right back filling.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
In for Mark. Here again is Ken Rosatto.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
I we're gonna go to our phones in just a second.
I just want to give you some breaking news. The
Justice Department is apparently expected to present a possible criminal
case and seek a grand jury indictment against former National
Security advisor John Bolton as soon as this afternoon at
a federal courthouse in Maryland. That information, of course, is
based on according to sources. They're saying that John Bolton,
(14:54):
when he worked in the first Trump administration, he was
somewhat of an anti Trumper, and that he was alleged
using his AOL his private AOL account. Yes, I have
an Aol account too, he was using allegedly his private
AOL account to transmit information that may have been classified
so that he could have it at home and then
work on this book and memoir and everything else. So
(15:16):
now it looks like he may very well be indicted today.
They already rated at his house. So we'll see what happened.
And you heard it right here at seven ten Wy
to eleven thirty ed in Huntington. Good morning to.
Speaker 7 (15:25):
You, Hey, good morning. I had three quick points about
the Affordable Care Act, but I didn't want to ask
you something else. Orn't you want to show with Matt
Pruss and years ago on Channel fifty five?
Speaker 2 (15:37):
I sure was that was you're talking about nineteen ninety five.
You got a good memory thirty years ago?
Speaker 7 (15:46):
Yes, I was, yeah, so quickly. This whole debate is
about the money to the Affordable Care Act. When my
wife was fiance, she had a four thousand dollars deductible
before she got any money back.
Speaker 8 (15:58):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (15:58):
And when the originally passed the law, they get young
people would sign up and not use the benefits so
that money would be used self. They can affordable. But
then they change the law because actually if they didn't join,
they were going to be taxed and it would go
up every year, but they changed the lot. They weren't
going to do that. And then finally the interest from
(16:18):
the student loan program and Obama took it over. Was
supposed to pay for this, but what did Biden do.
He stopped having them pay their loans back even if
the COVID it was over, so all the funds that
were supposed to support this program were gone. It's a
terrible law.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Hoe. This is what happens when democrats are in charge. See,
democrats believe you just print money and it's all good.
But the problem is when you just keep printing money,
that's like taking money out of someone's pocket. Because see
a lot of liberals don't get it that when you
print more money, it devalues the money that you personally
have in your pocket. Right now, if there's a billion
dollars on the planet and you have a dollar in
(16:55):
your pocket, now we're going to print an additional billion dollars,
that means the dollar in your pocket is now worth
fifty cents, and you did nothing about it. That's what
happens when democrats are in charge. Ed, I appreciate the
phone call, but he nailed it. Ed is right on it.
Stuart and South Carolina. Good morning, sir, Hey, how are you.
Speaker 9 (17:12):
I've talked to you before.
Speaker 8 (17:12):
I've been a PLOCEO off for forty eight years. And
what Donnie said about NYPD is exactly how he feels.
He can apologize all he wants, but it's not sincere.
Speaker 10 (17:25):
He hates them to me?
Speaker 8 (17:28):
Can a vote for Mom Donnie is a vote for
Muhammad Adda? They're the same people, they have the same ideology.
Speaker 9 (17:37):
And Cuomo is responsible for thousands of deaths. How can
these two people even be on the ticket? I think
Curtis is the only answer. But I don't believe Curtis
has a chance. Out of eight million people, twenty two
percent of the eight million vote, fifteen or sixteen percent
of them elect the mayor. I think Mam Donnie is
(17:59):
a shoeing.
Speaker 8 (18:00):
Unfortunately, he's going to destroy New York City.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Yeah, we'll see what happens tonight. May may be pivotal.
I just hope people watch for those who don't realize
the mayoral debates tonight. They're on Channel four. You can
watch it streaming on their website too. If you don't
have a lot of people don't have TV anymore, and
you could stream it on wnbctv's website, but they are
on channel four seventy pm. Yeah, seven pm to nine pm.
(18:24):
You could watch it down there in South Carolina. And
every time you call Stewart, I always say, you don't
sound like you could be the age that you are.
I guess in your sixties or or older. You don't
sat you sound about.
Speaker 11 (18:33):
Half that I'll bed, don't you really don't say, you
don't even sound that you sound like you're in your
thirties or forties.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
But we appreciate whenever you call them. Thank you for
your service. You know, my dad was a police officer,
so I know.
Speaker 8 (18:48):
And thanks to your dad.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Thank you, sir. You have a great thank Steward, thank
you so much. Seven ten wo R the Voice of
New York. It's Ken Rosatto, Infra Mark on your What
is this, oh Thursday? Mark will be back tomorrow and
it's just a few By the way, we're going to
speak with New York Congressman Mike Lawler about the government shutdown.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Ken from today, Here's Ken Rosatto.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
And good to be with you right now. Eleven forty
two on your Thursday morning. You know, the federal government
has been shut down now for fifteen days, all because
a handful of Democrats in the Senate refused to sign
with the near one hundred percent of Republicans who've already
voted to pass the continuing Resolution in the House, and
fifty two of the fifty three Republican senators voted for it.
(19:30):
Yet the left keeps trying to blame the shutdown on Republicans.
Speaker 7 (19:34):
Well.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
Joining us out to talk about the shutdown as New
York Congressman Mike Lawler. He represents the low Hudson Valley,
my family all lives there. Good morning to.
Speaker 10 (19:41):
You, Congressman, Thanks for having me.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Good to have you on. And before we before we
even go into the shutdown, I got to ask you,
so you might face to face with Hakeem Jeffries, what
was that like because it looked like he was a
little tested. He wasn't. He wasn't having it, but neither
were you. He was.
Speaker 10 (19:59):
He was, he was yelling, he was stuttering, he was stammering,
and he couldn't answer a single question. And you know,
my point in going to him was to call out
the hypocrisy of his position Number one on shutting the
government down under Joe Biden, thirteen times he and Chuck
Schumer voted to keep the government open and funded, passing
(20:21):
clean CRS and number two to point out that, look,
if you're saying healthcare is the issue, I'm on a
bipartisan bill to extend these subsidies by a year. Join us,
get on the bill, champion it with us. And he
wouldn't do it. And in fact, you know, he just
evolved into personal insults and you know, really had no
(20:43):
substance to his position because it's indefensible what he and
Chuck Schumer have done, right, I mean, Chuck Schumer government down.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Congressman, if I made when Chuck Schumer was going into
his news conference two and a half weeks ago, wasn't
he going in to say that he apparently that he
was going to sign on to this, to the continuing
Resolution but apparently, I mean, he knows he has AOC
on his backside. So suddenly he goes up there and
he says, I am not going to sign in to this.
No senator will. It was just so obvious that it's
(21:12):
all politics with them, and the idea that they would
try to blame this on the right with everybody on
the right, with the exception of what Rand Paul, everybody
on the right is supporting the continuing resolution. How on
earth do you blame Republicans for this?
Speaker 10 (21:26):
It's absurd and in fact, John Fetterman last night said
that this is entirely the Democrat's fault. The Republicans are
not responsible for this. And so, you know, Chuck Schumer
and Hakeem Jeffries have made a political calculation, and the
political calculation is that they need to show their progressive
(21:46):
left base that they are standing up to Trump, that
they're fighting back against Donald Trump. That's all this is about.
It has nothing to do with healthcare, It has nothing
to do with government spending. It has to do with
them showing their base that they are big and bad
and tough, I mean so much show that Chuck Schumer
changed his glasses to look hit. It's absurd, but this
(22:10):
is what we're dealing with. And so you know, AOC
was asked last night on a town hall, are you
going to primary Schumer? And she wouldn't answer the question
because we know the answer is yes. And that's what
he's afraid of, that's what he's concerned about. He doesn't
want to lose his grip on power in the Democratic Conference,
and he took so much incoming in March when he
(22:31):
voted for a clean cr So their position is entirely absurd.
And that was my point in going and basically exposing
Jeffries for the partisan hack that he is.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Well and you did that, and the fact that the
fact that you did that, it was like you whipped
a band aid off a scab. He was so ticked
off the fact that he had no means of saying
anything productive and intelligent back, but to spit and get angry.
When I say spit, I mean spittle. I don't mean
he actually spitted you. You know that. But to do that
just uncovered everything about him. Nobody. Just remind everybody you're
(23:07):
listening to seven to ten wo R the Voice of
New York. This is Ken Risotto on a Thursday in
for the great Mark Simone and with one of my
favorite congress members of all time, Mike Lawler, who represents
the Lower Hudson Valley. My family, all and friends all
living in that friends and Putnam County, family in Westchester County,
and they all voted for you, by the way, just
to put it on. But so now I love the
(23:31):
fact that the Democrats will never seemingly understand the great
Donald Trump that when they are playing cheap checkers, this
guy is playing advanced chess and he's already figured out
how to across them. Of course, not only with the shutdown.
So he's getting the military paid, and he's putting the
(23:51):
Democrats in a situation where they have to say, no,
you can't pay the military. That's not allowed. So that
makes them even look more foolish. And on top of that,
now the big Gateway tunnel project, which was Chuck Schumer's
big championing project for twenty years, he said, no, now
it's all over. But bye, it's all on you, Chuck.
So do you think that that'll be permanent or do
(24:12):
you think that's something that could be renegotiated now when
we come back.
Speaker 10 (24:16):
Well, this is the stupidity of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem
Jeffrey's position, and they're starting to hurt New Yorkers. And
you know, they should stop playing games, they should stop
putzing around, They should do their jobs. Go vote today
to open the government back up. There is no benefit
to a government shutdown. You are hurting the American people.
(24:40):
You're hurting those serving in the military, You're hurting those
who are reliant on programs like Wick and SNAP, and
you're hurting New Yorkers. And moreover, they're costing US about
fifteen billion dollars a day in GDP because of the
stupidity of all of this. You know, at a time
when Donald Trump is is securing Middle East peace and
(25:02):
getting a ceasefire and getting the hostages released, these idiots
are holding the American people hostage for nothing, for no
gain or reason other than their own political self interest
and trying to appease a radical left base.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
And for what it's worth. And for those who don't understand,
we're talking about passing a continuing resolution, which means the
existing spending plan for which the Democrats voted in lockstep
a year ago, they would continue it for another few
weeks while you could all get together and negotiate a
brand new spending plan for next year. Do I have
that right, Congressman?
Speaker 10 (25:38):
You got it spot on.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
So that's all it is. How is it that the
Democrats when Biden was president, they were all for this,
and now the Trump, the Orange man bad is president. Oh,
we can't support this. It is such pure hypocrisy, and
the fact that in this day and age, this era
of the Internet, that CHUCKI, Chuck Schumer can think that
people are not going to look it up and see
what's really going on is laughable. I think this is
(26:02):
going to backfire on them big ten.
Speaker 10 (26:04):
And no question. You know, Chuck Schumer last week was
quoted as saying.
Speaker 7 (26:08):
Every day gets better for us.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
Who's us?
Speaker 10 (26:11):
US is the Democratic Party. They don't care about the
American people. They don't care about the impact on the
American people. This is about protecting their own hide within
the base of their party and trying to stave off
any primaries or plays on leadership. That's all this that's
all this is about. And so you look at it
(26:31):
and you know, to me, this isn't about polls. It's
not about who's winning or losing. The only people being
hurt here are the American people. And it is it
is shameful, it is wrong. I pushed back against it
when Republicans wanted to do it under Joe Biden because
of his open border policies. While I agreed with them
on the merits of Biden's policies being disastrous, that's not
(26:55):
the way to fix it. You don't shut the government
down as a means of trying to fix it. And
Democrats all said, you can't do that. You can't do that.
You can't try to exert policy changes at the you know,
the barrel of a gun. And yet that's precisely what
they are doing right now.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Congressman, if you were a betting man, how long would
you say this might last?
Speaker 10 (27:16):
I think it's going to go on for quite a while.
There seems to be no willingness on their part. I mean,
you had a Democratic staffer say we'll keep it shut
down until a plane falls out of the sky. I mean, forbid,
that's that's how foolish these people are. Just it's totally unnecessary.
It needs to stop. Unfortunately, you know, I think we're
(27:38):
in this for quite a while.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Well, let's hope that maybe more calm minds and hearts
will prevail and we get this taken care of sooner
rather than later. It is so good to have you on.
He represents New York's seventeenth congressional district, including the Lower
Hudson Valley. Congressman Mike Lawler, thank you so much for
fighting the good fight and coming on the Marx Simone
Show today.
Speaker 10 (27:59):
I appreciate thanks so much you.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Bet beautiful sunny day to day. By the way, Hi's

Mark on your Thursday. We will take more of your
calls next, so please dial up one eight hundred three
two one zero seven ten one eight hundred three two
one zero seven ten for seven ten WR.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Filling in for Mark. Here again is Ken Rosatto.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Then we'll take your calls right now if you want
to call him. We just have a couple of minutes left.
Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten eight hundred
three to two one zero seven ten. Good to being
from Mark on your Thursday. He will be back tomorrow.
By the way, if you're following all the news yesterday,
you know we talked about Tiss James briefly at the
top of the hour and what's going on. Well, apparently
her grand niece has posted on social media that the
(28:46):
information published about her saying that she is an absconder
from North Carolina with a rap sheet. The grandee says
that is false, but then she says the information is old. Well,
which is it? Grand niece is it false or is
it old? It can't be both. Either it really happened
years ago or it didn't happen. But she says it's
(29:09):
both false and old. So we'll see. In the meantime,
Attorney General Tis James remains indicted on charges of bank
fraud and making false statements to a financial institution for
allegedly misrepresenting her Virginia house where that grand niece lives,
as her primary residence so she could get a preferable
mortgage rate. You save like between and a half a
point in a point, which could be a lot of
(29:31):
money over a thirty year period. Look, if in fact
she is convicted of this, that is a big deal.
Anyone who says it's just sicking the Justice Department on
her is full of crap. They just don't get it,
or they're not honest with themselves. I've bought and sold
a whole bunch of houses. I'm sure you have two
over the years, and one of the first questions you're
asked when you apply for a mortgage is if this
(29:52):
will be your primary residence or not. And if you
lie and they find out, you're in big trouble, that's
mortgage fraud. As simple as that. Now you call it
retribution or simply investigators doing their job and finding out
that potential fraud was committed, whatever it is. If she
signed off that this was going to be her primary
residence and it couldn't be because remember she lives in
(30:15):
New York in order to be the Attorney General, then
Ms James may be in big trouble. But you are
innocent until proven guilty. So we'll see what happens. And
that wraps UPO this Thursday show. Don't miss the Big
Debate tonight on Channel four from seven to nine The
Big Mayor Debate and is going to be streaming online.
