Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Mark Simone Show on R Well, hey, we'll get
to the mayor Old Race in just a second. Look,
get to ice tonight. Yankees game four tonight. It's a
little early tonight. It's gonna be a seven o'clock game
Yankee Stadium, and all this rain out there that's gonna
(00:21):
go away. It'll be dry tonight, so it should be good.
We're hoping it look very, very bad for the Yankees.
Aaron Judge, that home run, it turned it around. Let's
see if that momentum continues. Let's just listen to it
one more time. Yankees behind men on bass. Aaron Judge
comes to bat pitch. It's a dry come on hoop
(00:45):
experiences moment. All right, a little more of that tonight
and then we're all said. The mayoral race, Well, actually
a pretty interesting morning because right down over there, two
(01:08):
blocks that way is the New York Athletic Club fifty
ninth and seventh, one of the most beautiful, maybe the
most beautiful, and maybe the best private club in New
York City. It's one hundred and something years old. But
they have great events there too, and today was the
first event where all three mayoral candidates were there. It
(01:29):
was put on by cranes, and they didn't debate. They
weren't together, but they each spoke separately. It's a crowd
of top business people. Mamdanni addressed the crowd, then Cuomo
and then Curtis Sliwa. Mamdanni unveiled an economic plan, no
(01:50):
point even going through it, Mam Donni. Like most socialists,
he's what they call They used to call them limousine liberals,
but this is something different. They call these champagne socialists.
A very wealthy guy, and what they do is they
kind of tone it down. Now you got all the
top business people in New York, so he tones down
the attacks the rich kind of stuff, and he talks
(02:12):
about affordability and his economic calculator, which looks ridiculous. So
he spoke. Curtis gets up and I imagine talked mostly
about crime, because crime's the key to everything. You get
rid of the crime, everything comes back, people, business, tourists, money, everything.
It just it's like that, would you say that rising
(02:34):
tide that lifts all the boats? Cuomo, I imagine got
up and talked very slowly like he always does. So
here's the other thing. People like Mom Donnie, these Champagne socialists,
or these people on the left, or the Bernie Sanders
(02:56):
or the just all these people, even though shots they're yelling,
tax the rich, tax the rich, billionaires, tax the rich.
It's not about helping the poor. That's why they never praise.
They never put it that way. It's not about helping
the poor. It's about getting the rich, taxing the rich.
They have a hatred for billionaires, a hatred for the
rich deep down. It's like a real it's that actual
(03:17):
hatred because when they look at those wealthy people that
created these empires, it reminds them of everything they don't
like about America. You know, a lot of these big
zillionaire guys that created stuff, they're the ultimate American story.
Most of them started out with very little. Many of
(03:38):
them come from poverty. Many of them, you know, started
out with very little education. You know, look at all
these top guys, Deep Jobs, Bill Gates, Bait, they're all
college dropouts. They all started the business in their garage
with nothing and turn it into unbelievable empires. They're all
worth a couple hundred billions. So this is the ultimate
American story. That's why they hate these people so much.
(03:58):
You'll never hear mention anything about it up in the porch.
Just tax the rich, get the rich. They'll never go
to any details about anything. And when they do they're
kind of silly, like free rent, free buses, and as
everybody keeps pointing out, Mom, Donnie would have absolutely no
authority to make the buses free or anything. As the
subways or Cuomo has been running around, he's getting hit
(04:22):
hard by Curtis. Curtis running commercials all over the place
about how Cuomo caused the crime wave with his no bail,
no jail. So Cuomo is going on these shows trying
to defend it. I think this is a good day
in New York yesterday. He's trying to explain why he
did this no bail, no jail, cashless bail. Many other
states did it. The principle is very sound. If you
(04:44):
have not been found guilty of anything, you shouldn't be
put in prison, and you shouldn't be sent to rikers
just because you don't have the money to make bail.
Well you probably should if you're a career criminal and
you got twenty three priors, as many other states did it. Yeah,
there were other states that did it. Every one of
them got a massive crime wave as a result. Anytime
(05:07):
you do it, you get a massive crime wave. And
Cuomo did it here and it caused this big crime wave.
Now Curtis got a big endorsement yesterday Rudy Giuliani. Now Giuliani,
of course, in recent years, has a controversy attached to
him with some people, but forget about that. He is,
without question, the absolute world expert on how to run
(05:32):
New York City. There's no greater expert on earth on
how to be the mayor of New York City than
Rudy Giuliani. And he said yesterday he one hundred percent
endorses Curtis Sliwa. He said, Curtis has everything you need
to be Mary mayor. Curtis has everything he could expect.
He went after Cuomo. He said, Cuomo's a total disgrace.
(05:54):
He resigned in disgrace, and he pointed out Cuomoa Rent
has run a terrible campaign, lost to a thirty three
year old. It's actually, if you hate this, Mam Donnie,
blame Cuomo. Cuomo was so pathetic in those debates in
the primary. That's how Mam Donnie got from zero to
forty five points. Just by slapping Cuomo around. But Giuliani big,
(06:17):
big endorsement for Curtis. You know. Also here's the Connecticut governor,
a Democrat, Lowell Wiker, who has really condemned Mom Donnie.
You know, you gotta remember Connecticut has all these suburbs
that are close to New York. And the Connecticut governor
warns that Wall Street is at risk. He really goes
(06:39):
after Mom Donnie and he said, you know, a guy
like Mam Donnie does not understand the importance of Wall Street.
New York City's the financial capital of the world. He
doesn't think, Mam Donnie for a second understands how vital
that is to the economy of New York to all
the things you claim you want to help. It can
only be helped by the revenue coming in from Wall Street.
And he points out that Walston Street can leave. You know,
(07:01):
Texas already has a huge stock exchange. Other states are
opening massive stock exchanges. You know, we think, well, New
York Stock Exchange is a Nasdaq one of them. They
can't leave. Yeah, they can leave, they really can. And
that's what the Connecticut Governor, Ned Lamont, a Democrat, is
warning everybody about. He also points out the hedge fund
(07:21):
industry is very important. And you know right there in Greenwich, Connecticut,
you got Ray Dallio. Bridgewater, you got Steve Cohen's Er
Point seventy two. And Greenwich, Connecticut, which is the closest
suburb that's where a lot of these Wall Street guys live.
Greenwich has a mayor, Fred Camillo. This guy's probably the
best mayor of any suburban town around. He's great, He's
(07:43):
endorsed Curtis, He's I've talked to him about it. He
very much backs Curtis Leewa for mayor. And one reason
is he does want to lose. You know, these big,
big CEOs Wall Street. If they move to another state,
they leave their home too, which in a lot of
cases is great Connecticut. And by the way, that Fred
Camillo excellent mayor. He's up for reelection. Make sure you
(08:04):
vote for him. You'll want to re elect him. Also,
Long Island, Bruce Blakeman, you got the best county executive.
Make sure you'll reelect him in November. You got a
great district attorney in Long Island and Donnelly, make sure
you vote for her. Hey. Also, there's a big race
here in New York City in November. Besides mayor, it's
(08:26):
for district attorney. This Alvin Bragg, who lets all the
criminals out, is up for reelection. You can knock him
out of office in November. The opponent is Maud Merin.
She's excellent. She's a Republican. And if you're a Democrat,
and he said, I can't vote for republic but she's
actually been a Democrat most of her life. He really
(08:47):
is kind of a Democrat. But she's tough on crime.
She'd be a much better district attorney than Alvin Bragg. Well,
anybody would, but she especially. So vote for Maud Marin
in November. But the mayor world debate is a week
from tomorrow. It's next Thursday night. Curtis has been running
commercials all over the place, even in the Yankee game
(09:08):
last night, great commercial against Cuomo. The whole thing. If
it's gonna if there's gonna be a big shift in
the race, it'll come from next Thursday Night's debate. Next Thursday.
It'll be on Channel four, but you'll see it all
over the place. Cuomo is very, very very weak in debates.
Mam Donnie's a great debater. He's very good in these debates.
(09:30):
Whatever you think of he can debate. Curtis is a
professional debater for thirty five years. So you're gonna have
Mam Donnie and Curtis two great debaters, and Cuomo talking
very slow like he talks, So he's probably gonna get
wiped out in that debate. He's gonna look very bad there. Hey,
you remember that Greta what's her name, Greta Thunberg, that Lily.
(09:55):
She was like the fourteen year old lecturing us about
climate change. Awful person, a horrible, horrible person. So in
recent years the climate change thing kind of fizzled out.
Now she's anti Israel, really sounds very antisemitic at times,
so she's always going after Israel. She's, you know, she's
(10:16):
like the kid in Two and a half Men, you know,
cute when they're twelve, and you look at her now
she's like twenty six, not so cute anymore, and she's
going after Israel. By she's showing a picture of a
Palestinian who looks totally emaciated. Look what they did to
Look what Israel did to this Palestinian. Look how he's
starving to death. Look how emaciated. He is a bones
(10:37):
pushing through his sk Look how awfully looks she's putting
this picture all over the place. Well, it turns out
the picture is of an Israeli hostage that was being
held by Hamas a total liar, This screta thunberg. Even
the left I think is kind of done with her.
I think they've had it with her. She's become kind
of useless to them. Hey, there's a great video. This
(11:00):
is PBS. Now if you say, well, why do we
have to defund PBS? They were begging to be defunded.
They've been asking to be defunded, as Joe Peshi said
in Casino, they were just begging to be made an
example of. So they've been running the most left wing, slanted,
biased news for decades. It's PBS. You're supposed to stay neutral,
(11:23):
you're supposed to do balanced news, but it's left wing partisan. Now,
he's a funny clip that it's up on my Twitter
if you want to see it. This is thirty five
years ago. It's a PBS news show and they're reporting
that because of climate change, we're going to be wiped out.
And they predicted that by twenty twenty five, there would
(11:44):
be no forests left. We have no more forests anywhere
on the earth, and we'd all be underwater. In New
York and Florida, everything would be underwater. The sea level
would rise up and wipe us out by twenty twenty five.
Let me just check. Hang on, let me look out
the window. No, no water, No water out there in
(12:04):
fifty sixth Street. Let's check the other side. Could you
look out down there fifty fifth Street. Just check, make
sure there's no water. And you know, I was in
Connecticut the other day. I saw a forest. Apparently there
still are some forests left. So that PBS reporting all
kinds of crap, and that's why, that's why they get defunded.
(12:26):
Oh hey, that Hunter corruption stuff. The Biden family, the
corruption especially in the Ukraine. Hunter Biden, the brothers James.
So the CIA, Biden went over there supposedly as vice president,
supposedly to meet with leaders there to discuss issues. The
CIA report came, this is our intelligence agency CIA. There
(12:49):
was no meetings of anything of substance. Apparently was over there,
and the CIA said, this looks like total corruption. Hunter's
getting paid a fortune by this Barisma. The brothers are
getting there's all kinds of deals going on. They're doing
all kinds of corrupt things over there. And then word
came from Vice President Biden to bury that report. Do
(13:10):
not distribute that report, do not put it in the briefing.
Kill the report. They listen to them, and they did it. Now,
if you look into this, there's other stuff. We didn't
even know about this. We have an embassy, of course,
over there in the Ukraine. Looks like Hunter was trying
to make some sleazy land deal to sell off the land.
(13:30):
The US embassy has a lot of land around. Who's
trying to sell the land to some corrupt company. All
kinds of stuff in there. You're saying, I didn't hear
about this, Yeah, it's because you read the New York Times.
It's because you watch MSNBC. They're not reporting it, they're
covering it up. Hey, speaking of MSNBC, people think President
Trump will make a lot of money off them because
(13:50):
they've been doing you know, they're always doing these fake stories,
fake news. The fake news anchor Nicole Wallace, the South
Carolina judge who's home was on fire and burned up
her home, was running the story that it was arson,
that the Trump administration did it. It was a Trump
administration saying things about her that caused an arsonist to
(14:13):
burn her home down. And well turns out none of
this is true. The police said she had a faulty
toaster that caught on fire. There was no arson, but
it was total fake news. They're expecting now the Trump
administration to go after them. But Trump himself could be
filing a massive lawsuit. He's made a lot of money
sixteen million from Stephanopolis and ABC thirty million from sixteen minutes.
(14:38):
This could be another major victory. A lot of money
could be And remember MSNBC no longer part of NBC.
They've been thrown out. They don't have a lot of money.
You could actually bankrupt this MSNBC. Now, hey, we'll take
some calls. Next eight hundred three to two to one
zero seven to ten is the number. Eight hundred e
