Speaker 1 (00:00):
La you're on the phone by the way, Hi.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Lauren, Hey Angie, Hey everybody, are you still down at
the court?
Speaker 3 (00:08):
Heat?
Speaker 2 (00:08):
I mean yeah, we just walked away from the court.
What you hear is there's a lot of other media
people here with me. We're walking over to grab something
to eat because basically we're all stand by until five pm,
which is when they're going to finish the arguments about
whether Diddy will be able to get a bond today
to go home until his sentence.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Oh okay, so he's trying to make bail so he
can get out of there.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Is that Well, they have to give it to him first.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
He they his attorney said they're ready, they have it,
but the judge has to say yes to even give.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
It to him. So we're gonna hear the arguments on
that whether that will happen or not.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
So is that guaranteed to come in today or no yet?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Well, the judge did say because Didy's attorneys made the
point like his family has been here all the time
and everyone's here. The least the judge can do is
to make a decision while his family's there, because that's
who will be putting up the million dollars or however
amount of money the judge determined, and the judge said
that he would try to his best to honor.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
So I do believe that that'll happen today. Is that
what people are talking about.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
They think that's the number like a million dollars or
whatever it is, or we want well, yeah, because.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
His attorney said that.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
His attorney, the judge basically as, if we do do this,
what is your like, like, what is your package? What
do you suggest that you give in exchange? And he said, look,
we already have this passport. We physically have it right
now in our possession. We checked on his his plane
that he has last night. That plane is at Maui,
so that plane can't go anywhere. So he's not a
(01:29):
flight risk, and we can do a million dollars and
any one, two or three of his family members that
are here today are willing to do that right now.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
So the judge is like, okay, well wow.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Let me hear the government's arguments. And the government they
basically argue that he's still a flight risk. He's still
a risk just to community in society because he blatantly
disregarded the law and the court.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
After the indictment jobs and after.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
The raids because he you know, there are allegations of
Henry shops to witnesses, and then Jane testified that they
got into a physical altercation of sourts after all these things.
So they're like, look if the day that he was
arrested by the Fairs, there were drugs found in his
hotel room and he was prepared, like there was all
the setup that we've heard about all this time to
do a freak off. So she's like, you know, if
(02:14):
even though he didn't get the most serious of the
charges or whatever you want to do, the charges that
he did get, the prostitution charge that he did get,
what he was about to literally do the day he
was arrested from what the government believes is exactly what
he's been convicted of.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
So why why sent him home?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
So the judge made them submit letters to argue both
their sides, and now the judges were viewing those letters.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
So we'll find out at five o'clock what the judge
decides to do.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Okay, five o'clock, were you in the Were you in
the court when they first announced the verdict?
Speaker 2 (02:45):
I wasn't in the main courtroom. That list is locked in.
It has been since last week since the charging conference
got it. But I was in the overflow room, so
you can see and you can hear the main courtroom.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah, what was the reaction? I mean, what did that
feel like in that room?
Speaker 3 (02:58):
I mean, they can't you.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Can't react in real time too loudly because you're not
allowed to even.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Talk while court is in session. But but but verbal
cues that I saw.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
I saw Christian comeb's you know, he like he shook
his hands like and yes, like you know, uh when
they were when they said no to the rico, not
guilty to the rico. At one point did he turned
around and looked at his kids and said, Daddy's like,
Dad's coming home. You saw Diddy doing a lot of
player hands and literally thanking the jury.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
His attorney, Teeny Gerrgos, was sitting next to him. She
was crying. They were holding hands.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
He was just very grateful his I mean, his kids
were happy, they were smiling. Of course, I was not
in the main courtroom, like I mentioned, But the last
image that I saw did he was he after everything
was done and they got the jury out of there,
he got out of his seat. He turned around and
got on his hands and knees and began to pray,
and then they cut our monitors off.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
My friend that was in the actual.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Courtroom says that once it was clear now that you
can talk and things, his family erupted in celebration like
they were, and they were yelling. They were were really
really happy, like they said that it was. It was
crazy like they I mean, you can imagine right now.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
I could only imagine. Were all the kids there, the girls,
everybody was there.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Yeah, yes, all of his kids were there. The girls
were there, some of his kids, Baby loves Mom was there.
Of course, his mother was there. I posted a video
and I think we collabed that video with Kyle on
a five to one of Diddy's mom walking back into
court after the verdict, and you know, you have people
outside screaming free pluff, free pluff, and she's just thinking everybody.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
So, even though he's still going to have to face whatever.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
The consequence is deemed at sensing for the man act,
you know, he was fighting for his life literally, like
the seriousness of the charges. He could have been a
jail for the rest of his life, and they spared
him that. So he's celebrating at this point, so.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
We're not going that.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
So do you go do you go back at five
o'clock or yes? But yeah, you know me, I'm going
back at five. I want to hear Let me tell
you something, girl, you have been on it.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
You have been on it. I'm like when some I
don't even like I'm not even looking at the blogs.
I'm not looking at them. I'm like, let me see Lauren,
because Lauren's there. It's one thing to have, like a
you know, a third party at news sources. Everybody has whatever,
but to hear it from somebody's there, who's there that
you trust, is really important. And you really have done
an amazing job. So thank you for that for sure.
