Speaker 1 (00:00):
We are crossing to Sherry Lee Biggs, who is in Exmouth.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Hello, Hello, good morning guys. How are you going good?

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Have you got your specs on? Are you ready?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
I've got them handy. Not looking at the sun just yet.
Gorgeous day here in ex Mouth, I'll tell you that much.
The weather has signed out perfectly. There was a bit
of cloud around actually yesterday, and there still is a touch,
very light little bit, but it seems to be staying
well away from where we will be looking. So we're

(00:34):
hoping it stays that way because we didn't want to
come all this way to have a cloud. Absolutely not
want to spoil the inventor. It's pretty rare now, Sherley,
what's the vibe like? Can you set the scene for
us in x Mouth? Ah, it's just been look, I mean,
it's just been filling up here in ex Mouth over
the last few days. When we first got here, we
kind of thought, oh my gosh, we have we overcooked this,

(00:55):
you know, But in the last couple of days, honestly,
the hordes of people have just been coming in here
and I mean, you know, I knew this was going
to be a huge event, but to actually chat to
people who are so passionate about this as well. I've
never seen one. I've never seen in the clip. For me,
this is going to be a first time experience, and

(01:16):
I've been told that. You know, people get emotional, you
know that this can be quite like a life changing experience.
People are going to be crying. So I'm really interested
to see how I'm going to react to it because
I'm a big stook at the best of times, but
collectively around everyone. So we've got a great spot here.

(01:37):
We're at the Kalas site, so they've set up this
fantas I'm in vi P today. Did you say, yeah, Kyless,
hopefully there's a bit of sea floating around.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
You get a cry.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Yes, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
I mean I don't think you'd overcooked it because I
heard that Exmouth basically had been booked out accommodation style
for years as people knew this was coming. Do you
know how many people have log from overseas and how
many elbow patches on jackets are you seeing? Because that's
how you spot the NASA people.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
That is how you've got them. Look, I've heard quite
a few numbers. Tomo's the one that's that's watching as
the numbers.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
He's got the coundo.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
I've heard twenty thousand people to ex Mouth, I know.
And we've got all the daytime visitors as well that
are flying in uterually just for this. They'll be sipped
in here to the Kalas site. So the number of people, Yeah,
they fly in fire our Fi fi e clipped chases

(02:50):
and then they're off again, leaving us with the mess.
But no, there's so many events on here as well,
So it's just been a huge buzz in town. Chatting
to the locals as well, they've never seen anything like
Boos before. So the music concert, you know, there's a
huge food event. Someone to another little seafood barbecue last night,
and it's just all around exactly exactly. It's a wonderful

(03:13):
drone show tonight as well. It was in Coral Bay yesterday. Honestly,
it's too much. Stephen Cover, Sure, we'll do our best
for the.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Rest of us are stuck back here in Perth. Apparently
you may have more information. Apparently we get seventy percent.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
You do, yes, you get gen this. I mean, look
that's pretty good. You didn't get to ex Now school.
And that's also there's some great events on in Perth.
I know Jack was at Jagan's Square last night where
they'll be hosting an event there as well. But something
interesting that I actually didn't realize as well. I found

(03:52):
out along the way, But it makes so much sense.
It's that you get a big temperature drop as well,
you know. Being the little weather n I am hiring
the totality. You know, without the rays of the sun,
the warmth of the sun, it can drop by five
to ten degrees. And I know in Perth that it'll
be around twenty four at the time of the eclipse,
but that could drop by up to ten degrees. So

(04:15):
I'm actually take something warm with you because in Melbourne, yeah,
they'll be under a minute of a bit of a chill.
You know, they've got plenty of glasses up there and
up there in next mouth you go. They both hooked
us up. Yeah, she's hooked us up with NASA glasses
because they did a great story about some research they're

(04:37):
doing and a kite they've launched into the sky to
gather some data, and she came back with NASA ones.
They see me on screen, us on some genuine NASA glasses.
We are running out, but I'm very impressed.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
We're running out of time. But Sherry, there's one thing
that I really really really want to ask because we
hear so much about don't look at it and if
you don't look through things, and it's pinhole cameras and stuff,
but your camera die. What is do you have to
film it in a special way?

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Can they not look They've got solar lenses? Okay, taking
a live walk because we're taking it at a time
and date, live speed, so they've got the better cameras
than us for this type of thing. So we're taking
a live feed. So if you're in Perth you've never
seen an eclipse before, you're going to see it live

(05:26):
right here from x Now. The best spot in the
world to see the special lenses is the key.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Okay, that's the technical words.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Don't look at that went in doubt. Go for the seafood.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Yeah, absolutely, thanks go
