Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, hello there everybody.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Are you having some burping issues over there?

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Taco Bob, I didn't know you were running the podcast yet. Yeah,
I just there.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
It is you know when you swallow water down kind
of like and they found the wrong pipe. No, not
even that, because I'd be coughing my balls off, but no,
that just water and air goes down on.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
This so there was a little locked in there.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Well, anyway, everybody, welcome to the Lynching Taco Off the
Air Podcast. New episode on this day before Halloween.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
It's crazy. First thing I said to you when I
got in here this morn I was like, I can't
believe the Mars Halloween. It's great. Oh Friday, on a Friday.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
The weather's gonna be great for the kids. That's one
of my favorite things this year.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Speaking of which.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Friday and chillier. Yeah, Pat's got on long sleeves.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
I love wearing long sleeve T shirts. I have dozens
of them. But of course, living in Central Florida, it's
a limited snow app shot out of the year that
you're able to sport long sleeves without sweating your balls off.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
So you can really just say I have dozens that
of long sleeves that I don't know. I'm sorry, I
was going somewhere anyway. Yeah, I saw you at the
long sleep of this morning. That might have been a
little extreme for the weather.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
But it's just because you like.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Them, That's exactly what I'm saying. Yes, yes, I would
not I like them to the point that I like them,
but I wouldn't be wearing them in August, in hell,
July and August anyway. Yeah, So the whole Halloween deal
is you know, with it being on a Friday, that
that adds a whole new level. No matter what your
plans are, whether you're just you're going to stay home
and have a party, you're gonna stay home and hand

(01:42):
out candy, you're gonna take the little one's trick or treating.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Go to a friends party, whatever it might.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Be, just the fact that you know you don't have
to for in most cases, get up early the next morning.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Cave Chacher, man, Oh, it's the best. And that means
unless we have leap ears, that means.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Next year's on a Saturday. Next Year's is on a Saturday. Beautiful.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yes, So with that, happy Halloween everyone, and I hope
you have a good time with whatever your your plans
may bring you then so you get done, that done,
and then turn around and boom, it's fall back back
to standard time on Sunday morning at two am.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Because the law never passed, but there was some update
this week or some chatter about it I heard.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
So I feel like this is like Groundhog Day here.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
It is.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
This whole set them back, put them forward, set them back,
putt them forward two times a year for the last
I guess three years going on four years. At this
point there was a concerted effort to set the clocks
and leave them year rounds. The initial movement and proposal
was to set them on permanent daylight saving time, and

(02:56):
that is what was again brought forward this week in
the Senate. However, it was not able to be brought
to a vote because one of the senators was able
to pull a maneuver to block the vote from happening
because he does not want the time to be set
on daylight saving time out of safety concerns and concerns

(03:19):
from his constituents in his home state about kids in
the darkness at school stops.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
I understand with the kids, because I it sucks when
it's really dark early in the morning. You got these
kids strolled into hell, we had somebody I believe it
was earlier this week or last week there was hit
by somebody and killed.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Okala, yeah, high school earlier.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
This week, man, that just it pulls your heart out.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
High school senior. But yeah, as of well, Sunday morning
and then of course Monday morning when the kids are
back in school, it will be light earlier. So what
are we going into that We're going into standard time?

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Okay, at that time they want to switch it.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
No, no, because every year you tell me, and every
year I get confused. Let me just say, I'll just
all I can because it's a big deal to you.
All I care is when it's light earlier.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Then you would prefer standard time, which is you're gonna
get your wish here starting something.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Well, if everybody else wants the other one, I'll take
it the other one, because really it's not that big
of a deal.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Here's really what's going on.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
So the thought was, yeah, most people would want, you know,
to have more daylight in the evening, which is what
daylight saving time year round would provide.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Yeah, because it's nice. You work so long and then
and you you know, wife or husband gets home, you
have dinner, and it's nice to go for an after
dinner walk with them.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
And it looked like it was going that way, and
then the medical community chimed in and said, guys, hold
on a second here, hold on as far as health
issues go, that causes health issues every year when you
spring forward onto daylight saving time, notable rise in heart
attacks and other types of stuff. If you're gonna pick one,

(04:58):
pick standard time and leave it on standard time. So
now there's a bit of a debate going back and
forth as to, hey, you know, should we or should
we not do daylight saving permanent or standard time permanent.
Nothing's happening not this go around anyway.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
So that's at the end of the day done.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Move your move your clocks back in hour. The ones
that don't do so themselves.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
You just help somebody because I look at uh Steve.
Steve said, ah shit, I forgot about the time change, yep,
And so what did I have to do? Move the
clocks one more time?

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Clocks fall back an hour. On Sunday morning at two am,
you magically gain an extra hour. Effectively, get an extra
hour off weekend or sleep or whatever you plan to
do with that.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Hour Kevin texted or DMed in. By the way, we
hear the popping. I don't know if it's coming across
on video as well, but we've been trying to get
somebody to fix.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
It's an issue we've had all week.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
It's not good.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
So any apologize for the annoyance.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Well I need to send a follow up email on that.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Probably, yeah, I could take care of I won't do
that now though.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Okay, I don't want to be said.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
What was the comment you were about to read there
from someone you said there was?

Speaker 3 (06:05):
It was just somebody saying, hey, guys, you're awesome. Uh,
this one forgot morning guys. And then Summer Sanitarium?

Speaker 1 (06:14):
What would what would that?

Speaker 3 (06:15):
I know Metallica, But what about it?

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Didn't that happen? We did that, didn't we? Sum Are Sanitarium?

Speaker 2 (06:25):
You had brought it up a few podcasts ago?

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Yeah, yeah, okay.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Being on daylight savings time, I think is better going
for runs in the evening while the sun is still out.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
It's satisfying. Yeah, it is safe for Like in my neighborhood.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Half the lights are half the neighborhood is winter Park
and they have lights.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Of course, and then my half Maitland does not have lights,
so it.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Sucks, like for Halloween, is it going to be dark
this Friday? No, it stays lighter or later this Friday
because we haven't changed it.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
Well, it's dark now by about seven o'clock. That it'll
be six o'clock once the time changes.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
But that's beautiful because then all the little ones can
come by because I get all this candy. And as
of late, you're walking down my street, pat like this,
you're cruising down it's light light light, like dark, and
it is like pitch dark. So if I had two
little kids, I'd probably do the same thing. I mean,

(07:25):
I'm used to the neighborhood. I'd be a big spotlight.
But it's pretty dark.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Don't don't most people go trick or treating once it
gets dark though.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Yeah, but in my neighborhood, like the little ones, really
good ones, and they go out when it's light so
everybody can see each other and check out each other's outfits.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I will say the one thing, wherever you stand on
which time standard or daylight saving time you prefer. I
do understand for folks who are at points north this
time of year, when the time changes back. It gets
dark at four o'clock in the afternoon, It'll get dark trip,
It'll get dark at four in the Afternoon's that's got
to be kind of jarring for months on end. So

(08:05):
I definitely understand why you might prefer the daylight saving option.
But again, nothing's going to happen. It's it's flip it
back an hour and then we'll see what happens when
we get to.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
March, all right.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
So yeah, all right, so we got Halloween check. Of
course Jr's after Wien show. We should mention that that
is on Saturday. If you're here Local Taco, you're gonna
be out hosting that at the West End Trading Company
in downtown Sanford, which.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Is always a great venue. You know, Paul and Dom
and all the people running that place. It's it's gonna
be a good time. They're saying, come dressed up if
you like. It's after Halloween. But it's Halloween weekend?

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Are you wearing a costume on Saturday? They didn't even
think about it for the event.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
And I'm doing something with you, so I think I
might just go as JR. R.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
I got you the shirt that I have on because
I'm going to go straight from Mary then straight over
to Samford.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
You've already jumped ahead to Christmas though, as you have
our sister station Magic one oh seven seven Christmas logo
on here. As we roll into the Halloween weekend, you
you really are, you know, getting an early start on
the holiday season.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
I didn't think about it until I saw somebody and
they go, come on, Bob.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Can we please have Halloween? I go stand up a
little there.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
So, so that coning is is that I don't think
about it because when you and I va for work,
it's dark and we're just going whatever you grab.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
So yeah, I just grabbed and I go.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
As soon as the person said I looked down because
I don't know what I'm wearing.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
I looked at it and I go, oh, dude, sorry,
all right, Yeah, I was replying to this one. All right.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
I want to see what they're talking about, you know,
anything about We do.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Have someone mentioning there are a couple places like Arizona
that just stay and leave their clocks year round, so
we do understood, but most of the country does go
through this ridiculous twice a year routine.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
And we know the whole we talked about this to nauseum,
to be honest with you. Wait, we know that it'll
affect certain sports, it'll affect this.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
We talked about all that.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Yeah, it's it's the same arguments. Just we just wanted
to update you on where the situation was on legally
changing it to just one or the other and leaving it.
There's nothing's happening.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Let's go around. We'll find out all right. So all right?

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Uh, you got anything else that you wanted to bring
up here today on the Off the Air podcast? Anybody
got anything we need to address here?

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Somebody texted me or DM me something.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
I don't want to talk about it until they Okay,
they sent me a link I want to see.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Uh uh, it sucks. I can't do.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Did you hear anything about possible riots? I'm guessing I don't.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Know possible right, I can't. I could say, oh, you.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
Can open the link on your Facebook live. I asked her,
what are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (10:58):
It's it's gonna no, it's gonna screw me up here, I.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Do Oh, because you're recording and we're streaming live.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go ahead and X out
of that. No, I haven't have you heard. Oh I
know why because of Snap.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
There's uh some info out there about rioting and breaking
into Yeah, oh we're not stuff all right.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
That has to do with the shutdown. We try to
stay away from politics. There's no avoiding it sometimes. But look, yes,
it is true that as of if nothing changes Saturday,
the funding for food stamps or SNAP, whatever you want
to call it, ends, and forty two million people uh
receive those benefits. And there has been and that sucks.

(11:46):
There has been. There have been some news reports. You
can find news reports on just about anything you want
if you look hard enough. Of some grocery stores upping
their security out of fear of being uh you know, ransacked.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Yeah, they're probably just supporters of BWO Bob World Orders,
which will have BWO shirts when we're out tomorrow at
the first event at four Street.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Or Saturday Saturday. Yeah, I'm getting ahead of myself.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
I'm already I've already had Friday and going into a
day after Halloween, after we because you duck, because you
brought up.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Have you had any caffeine today, because it sure seems
like you have.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
I have, Yeah, okay, you can tell it.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
I had. You are all over the place, man, well.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Did because I got somebody texting or d M and
N about something pretty important. Okay, but I can't hear
it because remember my audio issues on this side. That's
why I was hoping you could, but you can't because
it'll mess up the thing.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
So all good, Oh God, all right, I'm trying to think.
I had one other thing I wanted to brow the storms.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
I mean, we've talked about that a lot on the air,
but that damn hurricane was.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
No joke.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
I talked to a friend of ours that her family's
all in Jamaica and has been they lived there, and
she said, yeah, there's a lot of dammage.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
You know, if you've ever if you've ever been to Jamaica,
you know it's two worlds there.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Man.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
You've got the state of the art, beautiful resorts, which
you know are are built for the most part to
withstand this stuff. Obviously, you know, the the landscaping and
stuff's gonna get screwed up, but for the most part
they come through. Okay, But you know, the locals who
live there, it's it's have and have nots, and and
a lot of this just is what little they had

(13:37):
could potentially be gone. Now they haven't fully assessed all
the damage yet. No.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
I was watching a reporter before it hit prior to
and he's like, yeah, well we're in this house and
obviously figured on what location there, and he said, all
the homes in Jamaica, the majority are built really strong
because the amount of storms they come through and whatever. Wow,
footage I saw where the storm went through not not

(14:04):
that strong.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Gone.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Yeah, go to the areas where people are living in
lean To's which is a lot of places there, and
watch something is drastically changed that I'm not.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Aware of exactly what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Yeah, how about all the dip ships in their helmets
and uh yeah, goggles.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
I just okay.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
I remember when I was in Jamaica, they specifically said
just stay on the resort. If you're going to do
an excursion, you're doing it with us, and and you're
you're cool, but they say, don't just be that guy
to wander off the resort because it's not that good.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Yeah, I for the have I have nots Like you said,
I'm agreeing with you. Uh you know, we we did
our honeymoon there and that was the first thing they
told us to, like, look, if you you must travel
off the resorts area, you're going to be on your own.
You're going to run into a lot of situations. Yeah,
and uh you may very well, uh you know, get

(14:59):
into a dangerous situation. We'll leave it at that, so,
you know, other than excursions. Yeah, I just my own
two eyeball scene. What's what's there and what's probably gone
at this point. It's it's a sad situation, really is.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Then I ripped through Cuba, tore that up Bahamas. Some
of the Bahamas are dealing with it.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Now, we'll see if this thing Bermuda.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Right, it looks like it's going to stay clear of
Bermuda now on this latest forecast that I was just
looking at. But it's still gonna have plenty of effects
their rain.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Wind everything. Yeah. Yeah, I just that thing that's i'd
say one of the biggest hurricanes I can remember.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Well that said, it was the most the most powerful
one ever to hit Jamaica since record keeping has has happened.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
And it was the third largest sense record keeping period
for hurricanes.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Here in Florida, looks like we dodged it this season.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Oh my god. And we just we won't say anymore
on that.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
They were showing past storms and where the plays.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
That gets the hit or hit the most. Did you
see which one was Miami?

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Really?

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (16:06):
And they were showing up by fives and they were
showing all the different storms and it was just.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
One after the next. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
And they did not have Andrew in there, because technically
it wasn't Miami it was.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
It was Homestead, exactly Homestead. But Jesus, that was a doozy.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Now another that was insanity because you were down there,
living down there.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
I lived there briefly, yes, in South Miami, shortly after Andrew,
and that was interesting.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
And in that the war zone that it looked like
you guys had a party spot right.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Well, this amount of I mean.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
My buddies who were down there doing construction, helping locals
out whose homes were, you know, severely damaged to the
point where they were inhabitable uninhabitable.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Uh, they actually went in We're working in this one
neighborhood and they were staying in one of the houses
that was still standing, and the whole construction crew was
staying there. And I'm working up the road at the
Peaches store, which was on South you know, us one,
and they're like, well, come on down after work on Friday.
I'm like, okay, well where are you there? Okay, well

(17:22):
go to where all the signs stopped because there's no
signs and no traffic lights because they've all been ripped
down and twenty there's a like.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
In mind, there's no GPS back there.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Right, you'll there'll be this huge a mound of trash
on the right. Go buy that one and then two
more trash piles down. Take a right into that neighborhood
and we're and we're the third. Well we're the only
house standing.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
M h. That's how I navigated over there out of Friday.
It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Yeah, I remember just driving by it and seeing the
swath of missing trees.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
That was a brutal storm too.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Yeah. So all right, trying to trying to think if
there's anything else pressing here. We told you last week, Yes, birthday,
birthday is coming back. You've probably already seen the teases
on our social Uh. He hasn't given us the green
light and specific day that we're announcing this yet, has he?

Speaker 1 (18:13):
No? But I'm pretty sure it's gonna be next week announcement.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
You think I believe so in less things change. You know,
there's situations with contracts for bands.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
I know you really are the one who controls all this,
so stop being modest.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Yeah, well, there's situations where bands have their contractual agreements
with other shows and you can't do this, can't do that.
So I'm I'm you know, dot and the eyes crossing
the t's.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Shall we just say within the next two weeks, probably
in focusing.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
Yeah, and I'm gonna say I'm leaning towards next week.
I know there's a lot of places to donate for
hurricane stuff. Please don't post it on our on our
Facebook thing yet. Look on the DM we just always say.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
We go we're Red Cross believers. This is just going
on our own personal observations over the years and working
in this business when there's a tragedy and everybody wants
to help and everybody's you know, trying to be charitable
and want to pitch in. Not all that stuff's legit.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
It's not all legit.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Red Cross for the most part, you know, gets the
need to where it's needed the most.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Yeah, and get if.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
You're asking us, we're not speaking for our company or
anything like we're speaking for Lynchin taco, we would point
you towards the Red Cross efforts there.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
All right, you got it.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
So I just wanted to nip that in the bug
because I've seen some different, you know things posting my ad.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
So anyway, and right now it's like they haven't fully
even assessed what their full needs are yet. So Red
Cross will get in there and they start providing food
for people who are homeless at this point, many of
them shelter. For many of them, it might end up
being a tent. But like I said, that the bare

(20:08):
necessities are getting provided first and that's what's needed. On
top of this, So.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
It's Laura checked in on she DMD on the j
R R Facebook Live. So my friends lost their home
in that storm, and I'm guessing Andrews and I lived
in Sweetwater growing up. Horrible that people have to go
through that fear. That fear we touched on briefly earlier
in the week. It sucks when you have no control,

(20:36):
you know, Like when we were I mentioned how we
were here for one of the storms and we're in
a glass building and the windows are shaking about to
blow out.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
At the height of the storm.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
And it's always at night Why is that always at.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
Night, Murphy.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
It's just but it's yeah, having that no control, and
even worse if you're near the coast because all the
storm surge and stuff.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Here comes the water, the sky and from the lakes
and rivers and ocean.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Yeah, and you know what, there's power lines down that
are alive, so you can't run through and run up
to a mountain and.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Anyway.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
All right, so I think we'll just kind of wrap
her up here for this week. We had, you know,
a couple of things we wanted to hit on there. Again, Halloween,
have a great Halloween. We hope everybody has a blast
if you're able to make it to the Afterween event
that is on Saturday after Halloween downtown Sanford West End
Trading Company.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Yeah, and again in case you're just tuning in late,

Speaker 1 (21:36):

Gargamel and Velvet Chains also performing.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
I'm looking forward to seeing Gargamel too, haven't seen him

Speaker 2 (21:56):
All right, everybody, have yourself a fantastic rest of your day,
and thanks for checking out Lynching Tacos Off the Air podcast.
We update these pretty much every Thursday.
