(00:00):
Welcome to it, Broncos Country tonight. But with all Brian Dick Ferguson,
Grant Smith, grant the mustache manSmith. You gotta get that mustache an
endorsement deal. I'm ready for onethings glorious. Send them jealous. It's
the thickest that's ever been right now, I know, I know what I'm
saying. It's like standing out. That's why i'm being It's like get the
full like you. You could. You could be an extra in Tombstone right
now, I'll be here, huckleberry. How much would someone have to pay

(00:24):
you for you to shave your mustache? Actually I was thinking about shaving it
off, so they just do itfor free? Yeah, start over,
but I grow back out? Howlong does it take to grow that back
out? This long? A while? Okay, it's a while. I
don't know. A couple of weeks? Yeah, yeah, I could do
that all year and it wouldn't looklike that. Like a couple of weeks

(00:51):
I could. I could lay sixmonths of upper lift hair grow and I
would look like a fourteen year oldgetting ready to hit with the teenage crust
dash eighth grade that already has amustage, right right, it. It
looks it looked bad. It's passy, it's spinnier. I did when I
had when I had that one haircut, a really bad haircut that was shaved
on the sides. I had tobe careful, man, I had to
shave. I had to shave thatup alymp make sure there was no like

(01:11):
accidental shadow, skinny mustache. I'mjust saying, man, because it's just
the way it grows in on myface right there. I was like with
that, with that shaved on thesides, it kind of looked like a
trying to get out right. Ididn't accidentally get dirt on. I didn't
wipe my face and get dirt, you know, a smudge on there.
It was, it was, itwas. It was a trying time.

(01:34):
Did be Vegamin? All right?Five six, six nine year olds of
text line, Brian, We'll talkabout Dion the spring game tomorrow. We
got some requests to talk a littlebit about the fact that the Buffs only
sold eighteen thousand tickets to the springgame, and I, for me,
I'm like only, I mean,that's that's a big tickup from where they
used to be. Not necessarily whatthey're I think what they were expecting,
but still a big tick up fromwhere they used to be. We'll talk

(01:55):
about that tomorrow. I want tofinish out to say, but we were
running down the list of our quarterbacks. Now I had McCarthy at May at
three and four, you had Nixon, Pennis. So I'm assuming you have
May and McCarthy at five and six. Yes, okay, I have May
ahead of McCarthy. Both of thoseguys are young. They're probably the youngest

(02:19):
quarterbacks in this year's draft, Andfor me, experience does help, right.
Is it the most important thing?Though? There's a lot of things
that go into evaluating quarterback, butI think it is a key asset for
a guy to have played a certainamount of games because you get a larger

(02:39):
sample size. There were moments lastseason with Drake May where he looked great.
There's a game against Clemson, He'sthrowing off his back foot. I
mean, it was great. Butthen he had moments when it's just like
you scratch your head, like whatis he doing? And I don't know
if that was because you know,he felt as though everyone was talking about

(03:01):
him, so he had to liveup to the hype. Because Drake May's
first year and this is after hefollowed Sam Howell. Everyone was talking about
him, Oh man, this isgonna be a top draft pick, and
that's when the Heisman talks started forhim. So now he became one of
those guys who were on the radarthat every defensive player wanted to play well

(03:23):
against. So it started to drivedown, in my opinion, little of
his performance. And for me,it's just like when you look at prospects
been for me, I wanted, where's that one game that I could go
to and say, man, youwere that dude in that particular game.
And I don't know if Drake Mayhas a lot of those games, Like

(03:45):
I mean, I could look atPanix, I go look at bow Knicks,
I can look at Jamee Daniels, and I could look at Kayler Williams
and say, well, they've hadthose moments. So it's almost like when
we're talking about Heisman players or wasthe Heisman moment? That's the thing with
Drake May's like, I don't know, we all just collectively agreed that he
was on par with you know, and and was was this time. I

(04:06):
mean, he's got the tools tobe successful in the league, and we'll
see I didn't like the way,and I talked about this the last second.
I didn't like the way when thewhen the pocket got money and when
he got noisy around and he kindof folded the same way with Penix.
I didn't like that, Like, like, look at both those guys.
It's a big worry for like, like when I see that at the collegiate
level, they didn't go away atthe pro level. So that that's what
worries me about those two. Butyou know, Drake May's got tools.

(04:28):
I just I got eat. Whendid he put it all together and have
that defining moment to say, hey, this is the dude, this is
the dude who's gonna put him onhis back and carry me to a super
Bowl? Where's that? Where's thatmoment? Because I mean, as much
as I make fun of, uh, you know, Pennis beating up on
a bad Texas Longhorns defense, hehad other games where he did that.
The Oregon game, for instance,I think was was actually like if if
you're a lot of people's first exposureto Michael Penix, the casual fan exposure

(04:50):
was was that Longhorns game. Notrealizing that Texas defense was awful, go
to the Oregon game, that's theone you need to be watching. That
was a better defense and and thatwas the game I felt like that he
really if you wanted some some todebate, you know, Michael Pennock to
say, well, wait a minute, forg okay, then forget Texas,
look at this one. He hadmultiple moments like that. But for me,

(05:10):
that's where most people looked at bowKnicks and Pinnix as being top quarterbacks
in those battles and show down betweenboth of them, and Nicks ended up
on the wrong side of that becauseOregon's defense broke down and granted, when
you look at talent, a lotof talent. Now speaking of which,

(05:33):
because the ideas that well, nottoo many people are high on Drake May
or Drake May deserves a pass becausehe didn't have as talented of a supporting
caz as a bow Knicks as ofMichael Pennix. So that's why if someone
wanted to say something negative about him, they could. But Pennix, oh,

(05:54):
we can't give him a lot ofpraise because he had Romadunze and all
these other players around him. Justlike wait, wait, wait, what
are we doing here? Yeah,so we're going to take away from one
guy and give to the other guy. But we're not gonna count that against
James Daniels who had Brian Thomas andyou know, Emily Neighbors. I mean,
there's something to be said for aquarterback elevating a supporting cast and no
names like like, for instance, you go back and you look like Josh

(06:15):
Allen at Wyoming. You know,Josh Allen wasn't surrounded by NFL talent,
right And you could go back andyou could find quarterbacks like that. They
weren't exactly surrounded by talent that elevatedPatrick Mahomes at Texas Tech. I mean,
the dude was it wasn't exactly lightingit up with with NFL talent around
him. There are there are guyslike that that you can find and that

(06:35):
jumps out at you right away. But just because they do have some supporting
talent, I mean, you knowthat you can't just sit there and discredit
it. Now if it's somebody likeand you can factor this end of the
evaluation. You go back, ifyou look at some of the Alabama quarterbacks
over the years, the Greg mckelroys, the AJ McCarron's, and you're
looking at it. Okay, theywere running four deep it with with first
round picks at receiver, they hada full first round offensive line, they

(06:57):
had first round running backs, firstround titands Okay, Now we're starting to
say but having a couple of playershere or there and that kind of stuff.
I mean, I'm not gonna sitthere and just totally hold it against
him. You got to kind oflook at the evaluation say, okay,
is this receiver getting open and thisquarterback's just hitting them all Greg McElroy,
Or is this a case where thequarterback is making this receiver look better than
he is, or is it both? Both of those things can take place

(07:20):
at the same time. But outsideof that, you have to look at
an isolated frame of that player's ability. What is it that makes him stand
out? What is it that hedoes better than some of the other guys.
And let's be totally honest, lookingat this draft, and not just

(07:42):
at quarterbacks, there's no perfect prospect, even though individuals will kind of give
us an idea like there is thisguy is going to be a parential Pro
bowler, Right, He's going tobe a Hall of Famer. No,
he's not. You don't know thatit's very difficult to make those projections and
not seeing how those players are goingto adapt on the NFL level. But

(08:05):
the one thing we can measure themby is their intenubu skill set. And
then look at the other guys aroundhim, like what what parts fit?
What? What? What are someof the things that we have to take
away? And when you look atquarterbacks, it's like, well he's a
natural leader. Well what does thatreally mean? He's a natural leader?
For me is how well does hebounce back? How well does he kind

(08:31):
of handle adversity? And most lookat well does the teammates like him in
the locker room. My teammates don'tneed to lock me. And that's something
that I've talked about before. Wedon't have to like each other to get
the job, to get their commission. Now, granted we do like each
other, of course, you know, I'm just saying like it's it's it's
one of those things you go backand you look and Drew Locke was loved
in the locker room, but thatdoesn't necessarily mean that you're gonna get the

(08:52):
Job's Teddy was Teddy Bridgewater locker translatingto to work doesn't necessarily mean does I
think, and you know, Ithink that's the thing is leadership to me
is he's a natural leader. Ifyou're saying that, what you're saying is
this is a guy who senses aleadership vacum and steps up, takes command,
takes charge of a situation, hasthe confidence that we can get this
done, knows how to direct people, has a core competency with everything else

(09:13):
that's going on. That's what thatmeans to me. And when when Justin
Herbert was coming out, that waskind of the knock on him because yeah,
I mean he's not he's not ateam leader. What no, when
he when he steps on the center, is there some level of confidence the
team has and that his ability tolead them, especially when they're down.

(09:33):
That's the leadership. I mean. You could be a guy that considered to
be unique. You could be acornball, odd ball, whatever you want
to call it. I don't care. The only thing I care about is
when we lace him up, youcould be that dude. You gotta have
both though, it can't just bethe leadership either, otherwise you wind up
with a Tim Tebow or a ChristianPonder. There you go. You know,

(09:54):
guys or guy leaders, it didn'treally have the you know, it
didn't really have the tools and theand the ability to be that's the guy
who needs to be confined to thesidelines as being the cheerleader back, the
quarterback. And when I say that, I mean the guy you know with
the tile will wave it. Beatthat guy. He needs to be pet
Pablo. Yes, yes, beatpd Pablo. Yes, wait, don't
wait, yes, beat that guy. Right, But when it comes to

(10:20):
winning football games, I want aguy even if he's got to snat some
college and be like, look,we got to go. It's time to
go. Yeah, that's you needto be able to to You need to
be able to correct someone if they'redoing it incorrectly. You need to be
able to lay things out in away that that leads people to be the
best version of themselves. That's Imean, that's what coaching is too,

(10:41):
right, is just laying it outto be the best version of themselves.
And so I think you have tosort of have a little bit of that
mentality, says So that's why wesee so many quarterbacks go on to the
coaches because they have sort of thatmentality that leadership mentality and great because they
have and not every quarterback is aleader on their team, by the way.

(11:01):
No, I've experienced some guys theydon't have that leadership. No no,
no, no, no, it'sjust kind of that trait just kind
of leap frog past them. I'mnot even talking about that one. I'm
talking about guys. I'm not sayingthere was a wide receiver that was a

(11:24):
leader of the team. You knowwhat I'm saying you either he's because they
the quarter doesn't necessarily mean it aleader all the time. That's the one
thing that about the game and evaluationthat I hate because ideas that you want
to elevate this one guy and makehim the leader of the team, you
make him it's bad enough. Youmake the quarterback the face of the team.

(11:46):
And it's just like everything runs throughthat quarterback. And for me,
I don't believe that because once again, it runs through the entire team,
because if it's running through one particularposition, then why do we even play.
Let him go out there and tacklepeople, right, let him go
out and do no. No,you definitely want a very charismatic guy at
the quarterback position, a guy whocan galvanize guys and get players to play

(12:13):
for them in those key moments. And no matter how you frame it,
how you do that, that's theonly thing that matters, balancing keeping it
loose and making sure guys are youknow, but then also keeping it dialed
in and making sure that you knowand having confidence that you could come back
when you're down. You know what. That's why I love Jake Plumber.
He was that type of guy,Like like when you think about Russ and

(12:35):
Jake, to me, those guyswere different than what we come to know
the quarterback position to be. Theywere so odd in their own right that
he was very unique. That's whyI like to use that word unique instead
of the word that some people use. Oh he's weird. No, he's
unique. He's weird to you becauseyou don't you don't understand and you not

(12:58):
you meaning I mean I'm weird, but but you meaning that guy is very
unique within his ways in the waythat he carries himself. Because I mean,
Jake drove a Conversion van. WhatNFL quarterback not named Philip Rivers that
has seven kids? Put them all? Yeah, what I'm just saying Jay

(13:22):
did not have that many kids andat that time. I think he didn't
have a child, but he wasdriving a conversion van and he was anything
but your typical quarterback. But hewas deemed by some to be weird,
like how they viewed you know,Russell to me, be you do you

(13:43):
All we need you to do iswhen there's a drive that we need,
can you get these guys going. That's the only thing I can concerned about.
That's about it. In whatever waythat you do it. You don't
have to be allowed leader through raucous. Sometimes you're quietly. Russell was a
quiet leader for instance. Yes,but we're seen loud leader. I mean
Drew Brees was a loud leader, you know. I mean he had the
free game fire up speeches, youknow, I mean he was the Yeah

(14:07):
I was gonna say the white rayLewis but whatever, I'm speeches. You
don't talk about it, but hey, you know what I mean, Like
he maybe he's posted the you know, but they do the little the pregame
speech stuff. There's two they alwaysshow. They always show Ray Lewis and
they always show Drew Brees. SoI'm just saying like that's it's it's the
you know, sometimes you can bethat. But whatever it takes to get

(14:28):
the job done. And different peoplehave different schools, skill sets, different
tool kits, different ways of beingable to do that. But the effective
ones are the ones that find howto be effective. Well, I think
the best way to describe that isbecause we always talk about, well,
what's in the guy's two kid rightto me? Use whatever that's in your

(14:50):
two kids, your two belt, whatever you want to and can't you maximize
that? Yeah, that's the wholething. Well, once again, if
you bet Man, I'm not askingyou to be Superman, well does his
thing. Sometimes Batman leads to justiceleap, sometimes Superman does. They got
wildly different skill set and that's whyBatman is one of my favorite comic book
characters because he's rich. He hasno superpower rich, but he has that

(15:16):
darn utility belt and any time he'sin any of a pickle he pulls up.
I was almost like I got somethingfor that. Yeah, he was
like the comic book version of mcguiver. Yes, in a situation something he's
pulling out of that utility belt.Although mcgiver was kind of balling living on
that houseboat balling, I mean kindof that house was pretty good. Now,

(15:37):
that's bawling on the budget, ballingon the buns. I on a
houseboat now, I'm just saying, not that I could use one here,
but they got some reservoirs. Youcan put it on like a houseboat to
live on it. I don't know. I'm just saying, I mean,
why, well live on the houseboat. I mean, okay, if you
were in Santa Monica Marina or somethinglike that, yeah, I get it.
But on a reservoir, Grant,uh huh, not gonna do it.

(15:58):
So they like my mom, she'llbe in the background, she's heard,
and but I'm gonna be here tomorrow. They'll be in the background in
the room there with Grant. Uh. As they swing by town and they're,
uh, they're getting place over there, the ozarks or whatever, and
then a little yeah, a littleboat. Little they gonna have a little
boat, little kind of stuff too, And I was like, oh,
you know you got to see that, Yeah, a little house boat thing.
I mean they got the they're doing, like the little land overlooking the

(16:21):
lake and all that kind of stuff. So anyway, that's that's they're actually
driving back from from doing all that. So my chance to get my hospital.
You're gonna be like Mel Gibson's character. Right, Well, Mel had
the trailer down there on the beach, right, but no way was it
on the beach? I thought youNo, okay, I like the little
silver trailer down there on the beach, right, Yeah, okay, I
thought so. And he had thetruck that like you could be like Mel
Gibson, feathered and lethal. Yeh? Did it make you Danny love him?

(16:44):
And that makes him Joe PESHI yeah, okay, okay, okay,
we gotta break gast. We'll beback. Welcome back to it Broncos Country

So there you go, take itForgeted podcast. Got a love it right
now for six PAS. Time forthe NFL six pad. I'm gonna trade
as insight and insight information you can'tfind anywhere else. No. Six the

(17:33):
top six NFL headline. What wellif you saw this one or not,
but former Ravens starts or else.Suggs was arrested in Arizona a late Tuesday
night Maricopa kind of jail record show. Sugs was booked on one count of
assault and one count of offense againstthe public order. Spokesman for the jail
told TMZ that Sugs has since beenreleased. Sugs allegedly pulled a gun on

(17:55):
someone. Uh, it was abizarre situation. I I had Sugs.
I don't know what was going onhere, and there's several conflicting accounts.
I'm still trying to get to sorrymy screen frozeer and get the other account
of this so that i can getyou guys all the information. But apparently
pulled a gun on someone, allegedlythreatening a driver's life. He was at

(18:18):
the Starbucks drive through in Arizona. The alleged incident, which police said was
captured on a dash cam video, happened at twelve thirty pm on March tenth,
Scott's Dale Police said they probably causedstatements. Suggs, driving a Range
Rover backed into another vehicle after hedrove past the speaker. That vehicle,
which was not damage, just hada camera with audio capability. They recorded
the incident. Suggs and the otherdriver got out of their vehicles and argued

(18:41):
before they got back in them andwaited for their orders, but then the
confrontation escalated. Eventually, as themail driver and the black range Rover began
to leave, he flipped off thevictim and the victim began to swear back.
The driver of the black range Roverstated the victim repeatedly, you want
to go. The driver swore atSuggs told him to go away. Sugs
threatened that he would kill him.Police said Suggs displayed a weapon A short

(19:04):
time later, reached his left armout of the open driver's windows vehicle,
displayed a black handgun in his lefthand and gull was not pointed the victim,
just merely shown, which the victimbelieved the male was threatening him with.
After Suggs drove away, the otherdriver call police provided a license plate
number. Suggs was booked at MaricopaCounty Jail. Suggs put out a statement
saying I was getting coffee, Iwould looking for trouble. The man the

(19:26):
other vehicle escalated the situation. Ifeared for my safety, not knowing what
the intentions were. Throughout the incident, I was the one who felt in
danger while fearing I would be followedhome for the safety of my family at
a nearby residence. Which sounds likea lawyer coached up statement to me.
But you know is what it isthrough all Suggs pulling a gun on somebody
else Starbucks. Well, first ofall, I thought the rule of thumb

(19:48):
was when you and the drive through, you never back up, right.
That was problem number one. Andif you back into someone's vehicle, obviously
anyone there right mind, they're gonnahave something to say. And then they
see this rather large man get outof the vehicle. But but did I
hear you correctly when you said thatthe guy who throw back into say hey,

(20:11):
you want to go? Yeah, there were people Apparently if both of
us said you want to go,you would be okay. I'm being I
got no this I'm gonna kill you? Or this is to pull out a
gun. But first of all, never say that and never act like that
in a drive through because of aStarbucks. Think about it. You're in
the drive through, you can't getaway, There's so many people out there,
what are you doing? This isridiculous on both people's part. That

(20:36):
I mean, if somebody escalated toa whole different level, which I'm glad
that it didn't, other lives wouldhave been, you know, in jeopardy.
Yeah, and I make jokes aboutit now. I'm glad that nothing
beast collected to the point where therewas actual serious harm done. But number
one, you're stuck in the drivethrough. You can't get away. Number
Two, it is not gangster tosit there and talk smack to somebody.
You got a Starbucks, Get outof here. I'm speaking of Open Kansas

(21:00):
City chiefs wide receiver over she Riceoh Boy eight charges, including aggravated assaults
after heat another speeding driver a sportscar caused a recent chain reaction crash,
Dallas Police said today. Police saidarrest warrants have been issued for Rice for
one count on aggravated assaults, onecount of collision involving seriously bottle the injury,
and six counts of collision involving injury. Rice's attorney said last week that

(21:22):
Rice had been driving a Lamborghini SUVwhen the crash occurred. Arrest warrants for
the same charges were also issued forfeed Or Knox, twenty one, who
was driving the other speeding Supports car, a Corvette that Rice owns. Police
said Rice and Knocks not currently incustody. We have fully cooperated with law
enforcement, said Knox's attorney, andthat we have no further comment at this

(21:44):
time. Police said the drivers ofthe Corvette and Lamborghini were speeding in the
far left lane on March thirty first, when they lost control. Lamborghini traveled
ont of the shoulder hit the centermedia wall, causing a chain collision.
Crash involved Lamborghini, a Corvette, four other vehicles and left four people with
minor injuries. He said. Thedrivers the Corvette Lamborghini left following the crash
that determining if anyone needed medical attentionor providing their information. The support also

(22:06):
said marijuana was found in both cars, as well as credit cards, the
sixteen five hundred dollars check, adiamond chain, and a Chiefs playbook.
I wonder if the Cowboys got acopy of that one. Well, first
of all, the last part thatyou mentioned mentioning the chain, the marijuana,
the check and all those things theChiefs playbook, that's besides the point.
Well wait a minute. You tooktwo full double bags out of the

(22:26):
car when you fled the scene, but you left that Hey listen, man.
For me, the most important partof this is the eight counts and
the reckless drive it and the harmthat you could have CAUs with your buddies
racing in Dallas. And once again, luckily this story doesn't end with fatality.
So here's an opportunity for Rice toactually kind of Redamp is a personal

(22:52):
persona, if you will. Butfor me, this is going to be
one of those cases where Kansas City'sgonna have to find someone to drive.
I writes the practice because I'm surehis license is gonna be suspended. Well,
yeah, I aggravated assault as asecond degree feuntain. He's punishable about
to twenty years in prison. Soif the license suspension is all he gets,
he'll be uh, I'll be doingwell. He's also charged with collision
involving bodily injury, a third degreefeltony. He punishable about to ten years

(23:17):
in prison, and collision involving injuriespunishable by additional to five years in prison.
Basically, he's faced he's facing thirtyfive years in prison right now if
convicted on all of these and giventhe maximum. Okay, I don't think
he's going to do like that maxtimeh because once again, no one was
physically injured where life was lost. They may chalk it up to hey being

(23:38):
young, reckless. Let's take somefine money from him to suspend his license
for a year or two or somethinglike that, and just push on three
the Dolphins in quarterbacks too, ittook of a lotle harbor, moving closer
and closer to the expiration of Tua'srookie deal. That remains to be seen
when, if and how a newdeal will be done. Where's to a

(23:59):
fit in the hierarchy NFL quarterbacks toother players taken in the top six to
twenty twenty Joe Burrow number one andJustin Herbert number six, all right fifty
five million per year and fifty twoand a half million per year respectively.
Touel was the fifth pick that year. Wanted to split the difference between those
two, he'd be at about aboutfifty four million, give or take challenge,
I guess becomes fighting the right numberof the proper guarantees. He's making

(24:21):
twenty three point one seven million thisyear. I guess. The question is
what do the Dolphins do here? They could tag him for twenty twenty five
and for twenty twenty six, theycould make an approve it one year deal
as Tua earned a big money longterm contract. I say yes he has
based on what we know about theNFL and the current situation with quarterbacks,

(24:45):
like when you can look at youknow, Kirk Cousins and say, okay,
well what has Kurt really done inthis league? Now he's hit the
market at the right time to getthe bag. And when you look at
what the enough types of numbers thatTua has definitely put up, you could
say, well that was all Tyreekkill. No, Tua had something to
do with that as well. Andif you keep tour going on this kind

(25:07):
of path where he's growing as aquarterback with Mike McDaniel, there's no into
where his talent could action go.But at this stage you don't have a
guy in waiting because your backup quarterbacksMike White and Skylet Thompson, So you
have no choice but to throw thetag on him, letting him play that
for twenty twenty four and to seewhat happens after that. Yeah, if

(25:29):
I'm the Dolphins, I might justkeep tagging him. I might do the
Kirk Cousins thing with him. Ifyou if you don't believe he's the guy.
I mean you can, you couldcertainly keep tagging him and doing that
from the business side, but youdon't have at the guy. But so
so many times though that's but theyhaven't They haven't made a long term commitment
to him yet. I just Iguess I don't understand because they want him
to sort of prove it this yearand to show him that he's still making

(25:52):
strides going in the right direction becausedon't remember this now, remember too had
those concussions and that was a bigretire Yes, that was a huge concern.
So they have to see will Poy'smove it since then if he tagged,
doesn't he get to top five?Yes, sar the like three year
deal at that range. I mean, maybe maybe they don't want to be

(26:14):
connected to it for three Maybe theywant to be able to get off under
it and not have the Russell Wilsoncut stuff if they do that thing.
Four. Andy Dalton had a frontrow view for Bryce Young's rookie season with
the Panthers, and he saw thefirst overall pick last year's draft struggle along
with everybody else. Kansas went twoto fifteen, Young with sack sixty two
times, playing behind a lackluster offensiveline and throwing to an underpowered receiving corps.

(26:34):
Throwing an appearance on The Jim RomeShow, Dalton noted that Young had
never experienced adversity like that on afootball field before, so that he advised
his younger teammate to keep pushing.Brighter days are ahead. Dalton believes the
teams moves this offseason, which includessigning guards Robert Hunt Damian Lewis as well
as trading for wide receiver Deontae Johnson'spaved the way for improved results from Young,
saying quote, I thought he handledit well. I kept telling him

(26:56):
to stay the course. This thing'sgonna get better, It's gonna improve.
I think what we have done thisoffseason, bringing in some guys, bringing
a couple of guards on the offensiveline, you know, different things,
Trading for YadA Johnson and gets gettingbuilt the right way, where yeah,
it's gonna have a better year.Panthers also changed coaches. Everyone in Carolina
shares Dalton's hope of all the alterationsto help Young show the ability that made
him such a high pick ahead ofa disappointing NFL debut. Dave Canalis,

(27:19):
the new head coach, obviously someonewho helped Resurrectionino Smith's career and put Baker
Mayfield back on the right path, hopes to three peat as head coach there
in Carolina. What do we thinkabout Bryce Young in year two? I
think he's too He will look betterin year two than year one. And
that goes about saying because that Carolinateam was not built to actually help a

(27:40):
young quarterback, Bryce Young excel atAlabama because he was surrounded by talent.
It doesn't help that your coach,Frank Wright didn't want to change certain things
with an offense to fit you.See that that's a problem. See why
when the team drafts the quarterback inthe first round, it's not about you,
former quarterback. The head coach isnot about you. About setting that

(28:00):
guy up with Far too many timeswe see former quarterbacks turn officsive coordinators want
to make things about them instead ofthe guy that was drafted. Right,
and it's come out now Frank Orrechdidn't even want Bryce Young. You want
to CJ Stroud ownership grab Bryce Young. But when you're the head coach and
they you know you've got the quarteryou got to make it work. Don't
make it work. That's that isyour job essentially right now. Your job

(28:22):
is to make it work. Makeit work. That's why Dave can Allis
is there now. Five Bills quarterbackJosh Allen isn't the only Josh Allen in
the NFL. Get put up,up, up up up paid Jags pass
rusher Josh Allen staying in Jacksonville. The Jaguars Allen a great tw eighty five
year, one hundred and fifty milliondollar contract eighty eight million guaranteed. Precise
structure of the contract not been releasedyet. Twenty six year old Allen hit

(28:45):
free agency coming off his best NFLseason, which he started all seventeen games,
including seventeen and a half sacks, was chosen with the Pro Bowl,
emerged as one of the leagu's elitepass rushers at the right time to cash
in, and has now done so. Jackson like an Allen out of Kentucky
with the seventh overall pick the twentynineteen drafts. He's played out his five
year rookie deal, got the franchisetag. Now he's in the Jacks long
term plans as they attend to builda team that contends for years to come.

(29:08):
That is a hefty contract for anedge rusher. Josh Allen worth it,
Yes he is. And the reasonhe is because all you have to
do is look around the AFC asa whole, look at the quarterbacks that
you are playing against. The onlyway to make things as even as possible
is to have edge pressure. Soif you're gonna pay the guys who are

(29:30):
under center an enormous amount of money, wouldn't it behoove you to pay the
guys who are going to be taskedwith the job of neutralizing them. And
great for Josh Allen because he's stayingin the state of Florida, no state
inc attacks. Yep, Can weget that? Can we get that on
the ballot? To get that aroundeverywhere? Can you do all? The
problem with that is that you endup paying tolls and fees everywhere else.

(29:52):
Your card registration island devortis anyway onlyfour to seventy do me not? If
you use the toll lane, wellI do. Sometimes I'm just use a
shoulder go right, No kid, knock kid not yet. Six Previous quarterback
Lamar Jackson will play a part inshaping the team's draft board, particularly in
evaluating wide receivers. Baltimore general managerEric Tacosta said he considers wide receiver one

(30:15):
of the deepest positions in this year'sdraft. Coach John Harbas said Jackson will
watch tape of the prospects and letthe team know how he thinks they could
fit into Baltimore's offense, saying quotehe looks at guys on tape. Lamar
has never been shy but sharing hisopinion about draft picks or free agents.
He hasn't waited in quite yet,but he will. The Ravens made a
big investment in Jackson as the franchiseQB last year, and part of their
continuing investment is to surround him withplayers he thinks will help him succeed,

(30:38):
and his draft picks will ultimately beto cost his decision, but Jackson will
have a voice and at the widereceiver positions. What's to be heard loud
and clear in the Ravens room. How do we feel about the quarterback potentially
dictating who they're taking a receiver?I like it, and I don't want
to use the word dictating because thatjust sounds too aggressive. How about having

(30:59):
a shared interest, right, Yeah, that's your quarterback. And Baltimore hasn't
done well by Lamar giving him outsideweapons. I mean Lamar's weapon or more
superior weapon is Mark Andrews right, and Isaiah liked me developed last year.
But once again, that's the reasonwhy they brought in Obj and he even

(31:19):
he didn't you know, turn outto be the receiver that they needed.
So the firsceiver they had in thatera was Marquis Brown's and they traded him
to Arizona exactly. So for me, give your quarterbacks an opportunity to sit
in the room during the evaluation process. Even though the GM and head coach
may make the decision. Let himtell you, hey, man, I

(31:40):
like the running of this guy.I like his hands, body position is
a certain level of toughness. Hemay fit well with what we're doing.
I think that's what you should do. But once again, ego and arrogance
prevents a lot of smart decisions frombeing made in the league. Well,
it's interesting you're saying that, becausethe reason that brought it up is that's
part of the reason Seattle wound upparting ways with Russell Wilson. He wanted

(32:00):
a bigger say and what it wasthey were surrounding him with up there in
Seattle. Okay, they were unwillingto do that. I think about how
idiotic that was and how it turnedout poorly for both individuals. Carol's not
now out of the league, Russellis now on his third team, when
all they had to do allow himto sit in the room make suggestions even

(32:24):
though they're gonna make the decisions theywant to make anyway. Just like being
a parent, you know, Itake I let my kids have some input
as far as what we're gonna eat, what movie, But at the end
of the day, you know whodecides me and my wife. People just
want to be heard, right,Yes, a democracy, it's a dictatorship.
No no, no, no,no, Okay. You want to

(32:46):
let the individuals you are working withright know that, not just make them
think that they have input, Letthem have inputs. Exactly, He's just
deciding everything exactly. Yeah, absolutely, that really runs the whole show.
That's the lusion of the puppets, right, isn't that the lousion of the
system. Just pull the strings backhere. Yeah, we're going to allow

(33:09):
you to think that you're actually makingthe decision that shape your life. Meanwhile,
we're just dictating them for you.Yeah, now we know yes,
oh, five six, six, nine zeros. In text line, we
did get a couple of text inabout the Rashi Rice stuff saying most defense
self defense X persons saying call thecops first before the other person. If

(33:29):
sugs and called the cops first, thing might have been different, and then
said Rashi Rice won't face the maximummiddill be a plea deal. Absolutely,
And I learned that in football,See they always catch the second person right,
so the guy reacts. It's alwaysthe guy who reacts will react to
these commercials Nebronco's Country Night ka' wait, there are some who don't like the
