man, that is quite the reach, unless, like you said,

jump into, well, the headcoach getting fired mid season, subpar offensive

him, But he looked like aguy who had at least had a core
competency there. Serviceable quarterback, yeah, serviceable starter. It would be interesting

top five, and we're saying thatPennix was like the best quarterback of the

a bizarre fan base that really believesin him, and if he comes out

Well, And don't you think it'seasy for an average fan. I
mean, like me, when yousee him on the biggest stages of college
football put up outrageous numbers, you'regonna be swayed by that. And I
think that's what happened in a lotof these cases. A lot of people's
first exposure to Michael Pennis was Washingtonplay against Texas, and those same people

not realizing that Texas had a horrificdefense. It was like a bottom seven
defense in college football this past year. They gave up like four hundred fifty
pas sing yards to Houston, Andyeah, he torched a bad defense,
and then he went and played agood defense in Michigan. We all saw
what happened. You go back andyou look at the tape on Panics,

and the thing that bugs me ishow pressure rattles him. Some guys are
just cool under pressure. He isnot that dude. And JJ McCarthy seems
to be that kind of you know, we'll see. I think J.
J. McCarthy's the guy that everybodywanted Zach Wilson to be. Seems to
have a better head on his shoulders. Yeah, at least coming out of

college, right. But Pannis,when he gets noisy around his feet,

get hit a whole lot. Becausethey had an impressive offensive line and they

I do think he holds a balltoo long. It'll be a question

does come with some medical baggage.He had temporarily retired. Actually he was

at the University of Washington. Hehad retired, but he left football so
much he you know, came backto UCLA. So if you do see
him drop on draft day, thatthat would be why it would be the
medicals, because he's everything you want. Otherwise, what's the history with the
injuries? What made him call itquits in the first place? He had
a believe was an neck injury.I'd have to go back and look.

He had yeah, neck injury inpreseason workouts during the COVID shortened twenty twenty
two season, and he had neckfusion surgery to repair lingering numbness. Now,
when he got to UCLA, hehad no concerns over the neck history.
UCLA had no concerns. And youknow, I mean again, this

is twenty twenty four, this isfour years after he's had that surgery,
So it appears to be fine.I mean, he was playing football at
a high level, taking impacts,all that kind of stuff. Somebody did
an interview with him, Jeff Legwoldactually did an interview back in February after

the combine and lots who said noteams have talked about any kind of concern
over the neck injury that kept himon the sideline Washington for two years.
Said being out here, I hadhad to do too many medicals, just
like everybody else. Be dreaming aboutthe NFL. So I was a kid,
never gave up on it. Butyeah, there's no doesn't appear that

anybody he's saying anyway, had anyconcerns about that neck injury. Yeah,
and when you step away from thegame like that, either by choice or
by an injury like that, youknow, and may reinvigorate your love for
the game and make you want itthat much more, which could be a
positive for some teams looking at him. And he's played two full seasons since

that, and we're the Beast.It was absolutely dominant. I would say
that league league people I talked towould say he's the most technically proficient pass
rusher. But of course, Imean again the medical questions. Some people
are gonna digging it for that fivesix six nine zero Step one nine says

Pennix is a poster child for medicalbaggage. Yeah, I mean yeah,
that's the other part of the penisthing. Not only is he old,
not only does he struggle with pressurewhen it gets to him, he's also
got a ton of medical issues.Was it four total season ending injuries,
including two of the same ACL.I just I don't get the hype there.

I look at the tape. Isee the quick release. Okay,
cool. I love the fact thathe's got the arm strength. Cool.
But in terms of being a completepackage, if I let me put it
in this in this way so thatpeople can understand, if I was running
a collegiate program, I'd probably beall over him. But as an NFL
prospect, no, And I'd saythe same thing about case Keenum. You

know, there's some guys that aregreat college quarterbacks that just aren't cut out
for the NFL game. And we'llsee. Maybe Penix rises above it all
becomes a starkly Maybe he does.I don't know. Yeah, I hope
you're wrong, just because I likedhim as a person so much, Like
he just seems like the perfect quarterbackmentally to lead a team. But I

mean, he's gonna stay healthy todo so. Yeah, seen some decent
interviews. I mean, you know, I I just again the scouts I
talked to back in February when everybodywas penciling Panics in the top five,
and they were kind of openly mockingthat, openly mocking media that were doing

think people are sleeping on this draftclass. I'd be a guy to be

was right up in there with allall the top quarterbacks in conversation when he
was he had a phenomenal season thereat Florida State. I don't know if
he would have been, you know, probably keep you five in this class
when all said done, But hewas, you know, I mean,
he was a guy before he gothurt. It was carrying the Florida State

team offensively. I'm not opposed tothat. I've talked about that scenario.
I'm not opposed to it. Tradeback in the first round, multiply your
picks, get get an edge rusherto the defensive tackle, Go get to
I know sweats in trouble to Vanderssweat out at Texas. I know he's
in trouble because he had a DWI. But you know, if you believe

in him, you believe you canget him settled down from the party.
And that's a mountain of a manto put it the nose. I think

if you could get if you canget him, or you could get
