(00:00):
Welcome to it Broncos Country tonight. But with all Brian Dick Ferguson Grant Smith.
Obviously, surprise show is the Rockiesoff due to the weather, but
to go make it up with adouble header on Sunday? Grant, what
times it's a game pitching? Firstpitch? One ten is the originally scheduled
game, and then the game thatgot postponed from tonight will be six to
ten first pitch. Then go andyou can listen to those right here on
(00:21):
KOA. We're gonna go right outto the ka Comments Pelth Hotline. Now
I'll bring on Vinie Benedetto from theGazette talk a little Nuggets action. Is
the Nuggets about to take on theLakers? And Vinie My first question right
off the bat. Obviously the Lakershung the in season tournament banner? Did
they hang the play in banner aswell? That's a good question. I
haven't been to uh crypto dot comyet. I can report back in a
(00:42):
week or two. I was moreprepared for a what should the Broncos do
at twelve question than I was thein season tournament banner or the play in
banner question, So forgive me there. Oh, you're all good. Obviously.
You know, we want to drafta cool Yokich to be the quarterback.
We've seen the full court passes. That's why we brought you, Knobskiino.
We look at, first of all, the Nuggets heading into the playoffs
(01:04):
here a little bit different than thanmaybe another other team in Colorado heading into
the playoffs. Is they kind ofthe ass kind of struggled the end of
the season. I didn't, youknow, I like what the Nuggets were
doing. They had they came outof the All Star Game hot. They
kind of had a few things theyneeded to to work on there for a
little bit, and it felt likethey kind of solved those they head back
into the playoffs. I'm not sweatingthe Lakers at all. I don't think
to go to sweep them, eventhough they have swept them in the you
(01:26):
know, last wins. The lasttime the Lakers beat them twenty two December
of twenty two. I'm not scaredoff by this Lakers team. I think
it's a bad matchup for the forthem, for the Nuggets. Yeah,
I'm with you there, and it'slike the same issues that that plagued the
Lakers last year. Appeared to beunchanged again this year. Like you look
at their regular starting five in betweengame Aelo Russell and Austin Reeves. I'm
(01:49):
not sure who they're you can askto guard Jamal Murray straight up inside like
it they I think we all rememberthe Hachimura adjustment from Game one last year
that completely fell apart by like halftimeof Game two. You know, Anthony
Davis is a great defender, butI just don't think he's uh, you
(02:10):
know, really well suited to toguard Nicola one on one. So it
feels like, you know, theNuggets are healthier, they have the confidence,
and they know what it takes toget to sixteen wins in the postseason.
So yeah, I'm with you.I think Nuggets and five is the
most likely outcome. I wouldn't beshocked if it's Nuggets and six, but
(02:32):
anything anything beyond that I think wouldbe slightly alarming. Pitty. Last year
when the Nuggets swept the Lakers,it was a combination of the guard trio
of Bruce Brown KCP and Jamal Murraypretty much dominating. Now, with Bruce
Brown no longer in the lineup, can we rely on Peyton Watson and Christian
(02:53):
Brown to kind of step up inthat guard position. Yeah, I think
I think Chris going to be theguy who really kind of separates himself from
the rest of the bench this year. But another name to throw out the
Reggie Jackson, Like he was aguy who didn't play last year after they
signed him in the buyout market. And I've talked to him a couple of
times, including today, where hereiterated just the challenge of going from a
(03:16):
Clippers team that plays one style ofball and struggling to integrate to the Nuggets
who play a vast league different trainof basketball, And you know, he
just he didn't feel comfortable. Really, I don't think at any point last
year. This year obviously started well, and there have been some challenges of
late, but he's just about theonly guy that Nuggets can turn to as
(03:38):
a secondary ball handler when Jamal Murrayis off the court. Said, he's
another guy who's gonna play into thatrotation. But between you know, Jamal
and KADP obviously know what is goingto be active them individually. For Jamal,
it's scoring and orchestra in the offense. TASDP obviously a guy who's going
to be tasked with shutting down toAngela Russell and or Austin Reeves, so
(04:00):
they have pretty clearly defined roles. And then off the bench, you know,
Christian Brown is the guy who canwho can kind of shadow KDP's footsteps
out there. And then you knowReggy Jackson, as tough as it's been
for him, uh, you knowthe second half of the regular season,
he is one of the few guysin that second unit of the true bench
(04:21):
players at least that can kind ofcreate his create his own shot regularly.
So I definitely think Regy's gonna playa bigger role this year than he did
last year. What about Holiday,Do we need him in the playoffs and
his three point shooting, his expertisebeyond the arc. Yeah, I think
(04:41):
they're gonna come point where they needhim. Like you look at last year's
postseason run, and like Christian Brownplayed a lot and played really well in
the NBA Finals, but he washardly used in the Western Conference Finals against
the Lakers. So if say PeytonWatson has you know, kind of ups
and downs during his first playoff run, like Justin Holliday's an established veteran knows
(05:04):
knows what the team needs from him, So it's one of it's an option
for Michael Malone. Like if ifPeyton is struggling with production or confidence at
any point, he can quickly turnto Justin Holiday and say, hey,
wead five six minutes here of shotmaking and you know, high, high
effort on the defensive end. SoI definitely think he's going to be used
(05:24):
at times throughout the posseason. Idon't know if that's going to be,
you know, immediately tomorrow night inGame one, but he's gonna He's gonna
be a guy that they rely onto stay ready for whatever the bench may.
Do you feel that the comments madeby Lebron James suggesting that this game
shouldn't be personal, even though theLakers of laws eight straight games to the
(05:46):
Devi Nuggets and Nakolea Jokic, Yeah, I mean, like I don't I
don't know if I really buy thatso much Like Lebron is an incredible competitor,
has has been established over the twentyone NBA seasons, he doesn't strike
me as the type to take gettingswept lightly, So I wouldn't be surprised
(06:10):
if it's you know, the Lakersare saying all the right things. But
we heard, you know, overover the off season, in different times,
maybe throughout this season Lakers the Lakersreferencing some of the stuff that was
said, like at the parade. So I wouldn't be surprised if, you
know, while the Lakers and Lronare generally saying the right things, I
(06:31):
think it's got to be slightly personalfor them. Once again, talking with
Vi Benedetto from the Gazette, wewere talking earlier about the MVP race,
and I posit that it should beNicola. I do Nick is shaking his
head over here. He obviously hatesNicole Jokag thinks that he's a bum,
should be locked at a closet andnever allowed to touch basketball. Again,
(06:54):
I, on the other hand, posit that he's I, on the other
hand, I'm not Kevin Hart. And I pause it that you know that
that those comments that that Heart madeabout the league shouldn't. It's bad for
the league. First of all,I think that that is stupid, it's
not logical. Second of all,I think that we need to determine what
we base the MVP on. ButI think that it's a two or three
(07:15):
man race, probably maybe maybe fouror five, depending on how you look
at for instance, y honest, but I think shide Gills is Alexander and
Nicole Yokich really are probably the onetwo guys, maybe Luca in there as
well, and at the end ofthe day, nicolea best them in every
advanced analytic Yeah. Yeah, Ithink that's got to be a real tough
stance for Nick to take in Denver. But good luck with with you know,
(07:36):
dealing with the blowback from that one. But I think I think it's
effectively a one man race. Imean, there's there's sites out there that
track all of the NDA Awards ballotsthat have been you know, published on
social media, and the last Isaw, Nicola had like seventeen at the
(07:58):
twenty one first place vote, andI think SGA in Oklahoma City was maybe
had gotten three of the other onesand maybe one first place vote for Lucas.
I think it's gonna be one ofthose deals where jokers, by fargin
you get the most first place votes, maybe Luca and Shay you know,
kind of split the vote for forthe second spot and that ends up hurting
(08:20):
their total owners. But uh yeah, at this point, I would be
shocked if Nicola Jokicic was was notthe m VP for a third time in
four years, and but I sentyou need to do a better job of
defining UH should be the MVP becauseyou look at the Thunders rise from last
(08:43):
year where they you know, failedto make the playoffs as a play in
team to you know, being thenumber one seam in the Western Conference.
And I think that's significant. Andif someone wants to say SGA is the
best player on the best team inthe Western Conference, I mean that's that's
an argument to be made if youwant to make it. I don't know
if I personally subscribe to it,but yeah, I guess I'll get down
(09:03):
to it. And I'm pretty confidentsaying Nicole Yoki is going to be the
MVP this year, Well, Vindyregardless of what Benjamin all Bright Toji,
because he's been known to Jack justyou know, kind of twist the facts
just a little bit. No,I didn't say that about Nikola Jokic,
But I will ask this particular question. Since twenty nineteen, there have been
(09:26):
three international players to win the MVP. Does that mean anything to you as
far as how the international players arenow dominating the NBA opposed to what we're
used to. Yeah, I thinkI think the NBA has just kind of
adjusted to a more international brand ofbasketball in terms of it's less star base.
(09:56):
It's not quite as Helio centric, even though you know, Nicolea,
Jokis and Luca are certainly guys whereeverything within their respective offenses revolves around them.
It just feels like the NBA andmaybe the media and the voters have
become more appreciative of the style ofbasketball that some of the foreign players bring
(10:16):
to the NBA less you know,Iso ball, just you know, not
as aesthetically pleasing brands of basketball. So it feels like the shift and just
style of play that different teams haveadopted in the last four or five six
years has favored some just the developmentpattern of some of the European players where
(10:41):
they're it feels like they're more versatile, they're not as locked into a position
at a certain age. Like Ithink a significant part of Nicole Yoaka's development
that is talked about some but nota ton is that like he was he
was a point guard growing up.He called himself a chobby point guard as
a kid, and like you cancertainly see how those skills have helped him
become a one of one center inthe NBA. So, I just think
(11:05):
the versatility and the selflessness that someof these foreign players play with has has
helped kind of expedite the changes thatwe've seen in the NBA. At the
end of the day, who presentsthe biggest challenge for the Nuggets to make
the NBA Finals? Again, Ilost you the first second to make the
NBA Finals? Yeah, what teampresents the biggest challenge for them to make
(11:26):
the NBA Finals? Yeah, I'vebeen pretty consistent with this, and I
think it's Minnesota. Even when theTimberwolves have had their les this regular season,
they gave the Nuggets a pretty solidfight last year in the first year,
and they were in Anthony Davis buzzerbeating three away from potentially forcing a
Game six in Minnesota. They're healthiernow, They've got nas Reed, who
(11:50):
gives them a third big to backup Rudy Gobert or Carl Anthony Towns there
without Jaden McDaniels last year, Who'skind of like the prototypical law lanky defender
that teams have liked to throw atJamal Burray to make it tougher for him
to get into get to his spotsand get to his shots. So I
think, and obviously you got tomention Anthony Edwards here. He's kind of
(12:13):
threaded the needle in terms of Denver'sthrough best defenders being Contagious Cauldwell Pope and
Aaron Gordon. Anthony Edwards with him, it just feels like he's a little
too strong for Contagious Caldwell Pope anda little too explosive for Aaron Gordon.
So there's no like real natural matchupthere. Not that any team has a
great defensive answer answer for Anthony Edwards, but just all those pieces together,
(12:35):
I think uh makes makes Minnesota thethe toughest in the route back to the
NBA Finals for Denver. You know, really quickly as we watched these playing
games, I always found it reallyinteresting this new format that the NBA has,
and I know it's always encouraging whena team can actually capture those top
(13:00):
two seeds. Do you currently likethis this format that they have with the
playing games, because I feel asthough those those two teams that are coming
in, man, those teams areexhausted, They're tired, and the odds
are pretty much stacked against them.Do you like the current NBA format as
it stands. I like most ofit. I think it's good for the
(13:20):
league in terms of there are moreeyeballs on these games, and there probably
aren't any of the you know, late regular season games. But the one
thing that really doesn't make sense tome in terms of the play in format
is that the reward for being thenumber one seed is that you find out
your opponent like fourty eight hours beforegame one, whereas the Nuggets as the
(13:43):
two seed, and the Knicks foundout their opponents on Tuesday and have had,
you know, four or five daysto prepare for And this is something
the Nuggets dealt with last year.Is the one seed where it's just like,
sure, you've got it narrowed downto two teams, But what happened
to something significant in one of thegame tonight, you know, alters the
game planning for the number one seedand it just still feel like it's the
(14:07):
one seed is properly rewarded with havingto wait until a couple of days before
game one to to figure out theirtheir first round opponent. But to your
point, the wear and tear oftwo highly intense games for whoever the eight
seed is is a significant detriment.I just think the one seed deserves a
bit more, all right, Vinny, So Nuggets in three, I'm Nuggets
(14:33):
in five. I think that's whatI heard. I think I saidnuggetson five
or six. But uh yeah,I'm just missing with it, messing with
Nick here though. Yeah, Ido. I do expect that, and
I think this team has a goodshot. You've got a couple of you
got a couple of rough teams Ithink in the in the West and obviously
Boston over there in the East. But I think got a good shot.
Is anybody going back to back?Appreciate you taking the time out for us
tonight. Awesome, appreciate appreciate youguys having me on take care beat about
(14:56):
a dento from the Gazette. Ohcome a Nuggets action. We got an
interview with Calvin Booth that he didwith Kaeis Sports. We'll get to that
on the other side. A chanceto hear what he had to say to
Ryan and uh big Al today thoughtson his and then I want to pivot
to uh talkts some Broncos. Wegot a draft coming up less than a
week. I want to. Iwanna start nailing this thing down. There's
(15:18):
some interesting movement in the betting markets. There's some interesting movement uh on on
a on a bunch of different topics, and it seems more and more people
are starting to shy away from theBroncos being into the business and taking a
quarterback in the first round. Sowe've got a chance to get into that.
We'll get a chance to hear theCalvium Booth stuff when we come back.
It was to Broncos Country to nightright here on KO welcome back to
it, Broncos Country Tonight, Benjaminol Brighten, Nick Ferguson, Grant Smith
(15:39):
here with you. We're gonna playthe KAE Sports Interview with Calvin Booth here
in just a few moments of causeyou guys miss it. You get a
chance to hear that as well. It's always up on the uh on the
website is what what's the ka Sportspodcast link? I don't know what,
I don't know dot com? Sweet, just did you google k It's up
on the have a Colorado thing andyou can you can get it there five
(16:04):
six six nine zeros of text.I want to get into a couple of
these texts real quick. A lotof people ask where Tim Jenkins has been.
Good body, Tim Jenkins. He'sbeen running Jenkins League's multi million dollar
quarterback training business is really taking off. It's all over the United States now,
and so Tim has quite a bitless time for us. Poor's I
get a text back about one everysix messages I sent his way. Yeah,
(16:26):
I was about to. Uh,I was about to send him like
a whole novel the other day,and then I didn't, So I will.
I'm gonna reach out to him.I gotta we gotta get some merch
off him. Anyway. I gottayou need a new hat I do.
I'm gonna I'm gonna use the theAlbright tax and go back in there and
be listen. You said you wouldget a hat for for everyone. Yeah,
that was kind of the idea,That's what Tim said. Well,
(16:48):
Tim still ows me a long sleeveT shirt and white long sleeve Jenkins Elite
T shirt that I ordered and paidfor. I got on the website because
I didn't want ask him for merch, I would and paid for this one,
so I would have. And Ipaid for this one in like twenty
eighteen. So it's been a runningjoke for for a long time. That's
uh. Well, speaking of runningjoke, both you and Grant were both
laughing at me during the break becauseit was something I didn't know that you
(17:12):
guys found quite funny. Do youremember Do you remember what that was?
Well, you acted like you didn'tknow. I don't know. Okay,
you durned the book. Yeah,I was trying to Okay, we'll get
it this. During the break,I had what had to be the most
hilarious conversation of my adult life asI had to explain only fans to Nick
Ferguson, who did not know whatthey are. Now, Nick, it's
(17:33):
it's fine, We're safe. Youknow. I understand you got to say
this label in the air white firstand all that. It's cool. But
I had to explain what only fanswas to you, and I like,
I'm like, but how like, yeah, I don't even have an only
fans and cat like, I legitimatelydon't, and I would tell you if
I did. I don't listen whenyou but I know what it is because
(17:53):
it's a popular part of the lexicon. I don't know, but listen,
I mean, I'm dealing with likePuff the Magic Dragon, and uh,
what is it Blue? I'm dealingwith things like did you see the last
episode? I don't even have kids, did you see the last episode I'm
watch Blue? Are you kidding me? My wife was just saying this the
other day. She's like, youknow, some adults just really love that
(18:14):
show. Kids, Like I wasgetting choked up. It's better than Spongebobbob
Man. SpongeBob is the ultimate fourtwenty experience, if you catch my drift.
But this is different, Like it'sjust like if you watch X ninety
seven. Yet I haven't got yes, yes, I haven't reached out like
cartoon's out there right now that I'mlike, all right, okay, pick
(18:37):
on great? You know how thisis like I bring up a couple of
movies and you've been like, well, I haven't seen those, So for
me not knowing for what is itfor? Only what is it now?
You're selling it too hard now likeyou don't know what right now? You
better not be incogniti. I swearto you. When you guys first said
(18:57):
that, I thought it was likefanatics, one of those places that you
can go by, you know.I wonder you didn't laugh my only can's
joke Yeah, that's why I didn'tlaugh because I thought he was talking.
Wasn't the only reason he didn't laugh. Oh my god, I'm yeah,
see in his own mind, rightlegend, Yes, stand up right now.
(19:18):
Yes, but I didn't know.I mean, I swear to you
man, I did not know whatit was. That's why I did not
laugh and then mentioned it earlier becauseI thought it was one of those sites
that you go on if I youknow, sports, uh, paraphernalia.
Well, let's not give him anymore information. And that's exactly what I
would like for you to go getme a new Broncos jersey on that website.
If you'll go home. My internet'sdown at the house. If you'll
(19:41):
go home and go to OnlyFans dotcom and and uh and search through there
and try to get that for me, that'd be great. Who well,
based on how you guys are describingit, I guess low key, I'm
not looking out on my brother doingso much failure. Do not go to
that website. No, I'm notso I can't believe I'd explain to you
(20:02):
what that was. Starting to breakup it, I gotta go because I'm
incredulous right now. So I'm gonnado a survey of the people left around
the building. I'm gonna I'm gonnaask Jody Jordan. Okay, I'm gonna
ask Dave Tepper, I'm gonna askthe janitor guy that was just in here.
Ask those individuals and then come backand tell me. Because that's not
in my world. That's not somethingI I freaking frequent or I hear it
all the time, you know,I don't get it in passing. You
(20:23):
are aware they have the Internet oncomputers now correct, stop. You can
also access it on your cell phone. Yes, allegedly all this information that
you guys both know. But Benis talking about he doesn't have an account.
I don't an account either. Iknow people to do what you know
where to find it? Tell you, like I know women that do see
(20:45):
that sounds like a sports channel onlyfans. That's what it sounds like.
Okay, here's here's a funny onefor you. Let me I'll go Stepford.
I wasn't even gonna get into this. They actually approached me. They
emailed me because they wanted to pivotfrom the content that they do to other
types of content. And then wedo like a sports channel, and they
came to me and like, andthis is the best part. I'm sitting
(21:08):
there thinking this is bad for mybrand almost like you know what, Yeah,
but they do do other things now, but they have like comedy specials,
They sponsor comedy specials and stuff nowbecause they're trying to pivot away from
(21:29):
what they are originally known for.Once again, how would I know that
the name itself sounds is just likewhat Ben's talking about, that it could
have been something sports related. Well, I encourage you to, don't.
I do not encourage go find out. I'm not following your lead on this
one. Definitely not following not atall. Hard pivot on topics. Calvin
(21:52):
Booth talk to the guys that can't. We Sports Today talk to Ryan Edwards
and big Al and here's how thatinterview. W You know, Cavin,
we want to have you back onthis time because last year we had you
on right about the same time, and we want a championship and we don't
want to jinx that at all.Man, No, we gotta keep that
tradition, tradition going. You know, I was talking to my partner here
about the Denver Nuggets in the lastseven or eight contests playing against the Lakers.
(22:15):
It's really come down to type playright around a five minute mark,
and that's when the Denver Nuggets identityreally shows itself in and how they play,
and I think it's been the keyto how you guys win. Can
you come in on that. Imean, I think it's something that's been
been forming over time with the connectionthat Nicole Okis and Jamal Murray have and
(22:41):
the pieces are out there around onMichael Porter Junior, Aaron Contavious, Colo
Pope. So I think like theyhave a good, good chemistry and they
know what they're do on both ends, and I think it helps us a
lot the late game. You justmade a decision to go a bit younger
this year, especially coming off thebench, and I just wanted to get
your thoughts on where you think thedevelopment of Christian Brown as well as Peyton
(23:07):
Watson in that group that you guysare going to be leaning on quite substantially
here in the playoffs, how thedevelopment has gone. I think he's gone
better and expected. I think Christianhad a little bit of a rougher start,
but I think it really focused himon getting getting in the gym and
working on his game. I thinkit's something he's stuck with and as we
know, he's all always been abig time gamer. You know, National
(23:30):
Championship of Kansas wins a game forus in the finals last year. So
I think the development of his willingnessto get into the gym and get extra
shots up is really paid off.And I think Peyton Watson is really surprised
me even and the impact he's beenable to consistently have over the course of
this season. Now, the playoffsare a different beasts, and I expect
(23:52):
he'll probably have some rough stretches. But that's the reason why we did it,
because you know, based on howthe new collective bargain agree with is
in our financial situation, we haveto get value out of our younger guys.
The Nuggets tied a franchise record andwins this year. Tell me about
what your reaction to how the responsehas been from this team to being the
(24:15):
defending defending champions, knowing that thatkind of pressure was going to be on
them. I just think yourself asa character of the team. I know
there was times during the season thatevery single one of our starters were tired,
and they pushed through it and kepton playing, and I think I'm
pleasantly surprised how they handled the season, considering that was all of our first
(24:37):
experience winning the championship, and wehad such a quick turnaround. You know,
so the regular season we got throughhealthy and uh, you know,
we're fortunate enough to tie franchise recordand wins. But now it's you know,
now the real season starts. Calvin, you know, I've been I've
been a basketball fan my entire life, man, and the skill set that
(24:59):
we have with the Joker is isunbelievable. He's you know, just just
looking at guys that played a littlebit during your time in the NBA.
You know, he's a little bitof Tim Duncan, a little bit of
Al Horford with some of the passing, a little bit of Paul Gasol with
the finesse, and then a littlebit of Shack and it's such a unique
combination. I just think I'm justso impressed. But when he finally decides
(25:25):
to you know, he just wantsto get down low and score. His
skill is as good as any ofI've ever seen. Can you talk about
the Joker for a little bit,Barn, You can talk about the Joker
all day long player. You know, I think he just understands the game
and he does whatever the game dictates. And I think he's really matured into
(25:48):
a person that understands that, likeor his passing, to have the impact
that it can have on a game, he has to be willing at time
to just score or score, score, score, score. So I think
his willingness to punish people scoring theball and not bail him out by coren
a few baskets and then start passingagain, I think it really puts the
(26:08):
defense in our predicament. It's beenreally amazing, no doubt. Calvin Booth
joining us here for a moment,I wanted to talk about Michael Porter Junior,
who last year in the finals, you know, but his shot wasn't
exactly falling, but he found waysto impact the game. He got rebounds,
he got a lot of hustle statsand and and he certainly has improved
(26:30):
his defense. But this year,I really thought, over the course of
the season, he's really gone toanother level. What have you thought about
how Michael Porter Jr. Has sortof stepped into a bigger role man.
I mean, everybody want to thinkabout Michael, to think about his shooting
and how fantastic of a shoot heis. And he really is a specially
special in that way. But themore and more around Michael, I just
(26:52):
appreciate his toughness and his ability tofocus right, Like it's pretty well document
a lot of stuff he has, well, a famous situation and uh,
you know, he finds a wayto focus and come out and do his
job. Obviously he's had an injuryfor the last few years. Well it's
pre existing injury. The aner passyare corrected, I say, And uh,
(27:15):
you know, most people be limitedreally about an injury, and uh,
I feel like he's a he'd belimited to really about an injury.
I feel like he's handled it likejust as well as anybody's work ethic,
his diligence and taking care of hisbody I think allowed for But uh,
we're just fortunate to have him onour team. And uh, you know,
(27:37):
I always looked at Jamal is likeone of the toughest guys in the
NBA, and you know, obviouslyjokers there too, and Michael's starting to
develop that reputation at least internally withus. The last thing I'll have for
you, man, what what wasthe message that you want to give out
to the fan base that are goingto be filling into ball Arena tomorrow,
uh to come watch the Denver Nuggetsto defend. What what's your messaging to
(28:00):
the fan base, Well, justkeep it going. I mean, you
know, it's unbelievable the energy andthe noise level. Uh in the Minnesota
game that we just recently had, which was an important game for seeding.
And uh, I think the fans. We have the best home court advantage
in the league right now, butthe fans are a big reason for it.
So just keep doing what they've beendoing. Is it too early to
(28:22):
do a who's your daddy chat atthe beginning? Yeah, I don't.
I don't think. I don't thinkthat'd be wise. Have a verry good
players over there, man, andwe ought to respect those guys. So,
you know, hopefully, hopefully wehandle our home home court advantage and
we can get both games and thenh go from there. Hey, Calvin,
(28:44):
you're the best. Yeah, man, thank you so much. I
really appreciate the time. It waskalam Booth Live with Sports earlier today.
Right Edward's big al and yeah hewas. He was trying to be you
could tell he's going no, no, no, no, We're not gonna
do who's your daddy chats in gameone. We're gonna respect our opponent.
Meanwhile, you know, you know, as soon as he gets off the
phones and now we're doing them.Chance, we're doing them. Get get
(29:04):
people that we're getting plants around thestadium, Get through the crowd. That's
the thing. You cannot control thecrowd. And someone right off off the
tip, and once the Nuggets getout to somewhat of a decently, you
could be eight point lee or thissaying Lebron misses two of his first shots,
you're gonna hear who's your daddy?Who's your dad? I mean right,
(29:26):
it's just right off the tip, just the tip, only fans something
something else you can hear on OnlyFansdot Com. I still can't believe,
like literally, the only two menbetween the ages of fifteen and ninety who
don't know what only fans are aremy are my co hosts. Listen,
man, I'm not grooved into thingslike that, Hey, I got you
(29:47):
that, it's cool, I gotyou. She's listening. You don't know
what it is. You don't haveto oversell it. I have no idea
is nothing worse, by the way, like if you try, like if
you legitimately don't know something like that, and somebody sitting there, No,
you don't have to over sell it. I got it, you know,
give it. And then you're like, there's no response to that, don't
know it's the worst. Well,I listen, I guess you you learned
something new every single day, butthat something that learn something nude every day.
(30:14):
See there, it is seem therest of the night. Do the
surprise show. I've got to getover there. It is. What do
you think about? What you thinkabout what Calvin Boo said, thinks that
the Lakers will be, you know, a tough opponent and all that kind
of stuff. I mean, Ithink he was saying whatever a general manager
has to say. Whereas we lookat this and say, okay, I
mean, the Lakers still do haveAnthony Davis. Lebron James is still Lebron
(30:37):
James, even if he's not theLebron James of old, and they and
when D'Angel Russell gets hot, theyare they are a dangerous team. I
just don't think anybody, I don'tthink any of us are of the opinion
that they're going to be able tomaintain Danela Russell is going to maintain that
through a seven game series because hejust doesn't. I think that's kind of
the idea, that the ability tosustain that that surge of energy that the
(31:00):
Lakers are gonna have at the verybeginning of the game, because we all
know here in Denver that the Lakerswere swept, and I'm sure from their
film study and from their media outof Los Angeles they know that too as
well. So they feel as thoughthey have to come in and assert their
dominance right away, and if theydon't, then there's gonna be a problem
(31:22):
in Game one. Now, obviouslythat's not me predicting that the Lakers are
gonna win the series. I wouldbe surprised if they if they did,
but I can understand how a coachcan use previous losses to motivate his team
moving forward. I would show themif I was the Lakers head coach,
I would show them every single playof the games where they were swept.
(31:48):
Just so August December of twenty twentytwo, number, okay, that's fine,
but being swept that's going to takea long time. Well, hey
man, let's keep me wrong nightsbecause we don't watch every bit of it.
That's the way that the Lakers aregonna come in here. They're gonna
come in and motivated. So itis surviving the surge and what's gonna happen
(32:13):
with the Nuggets with the time thatthey've been off. That's the thing that
concerns me. Yeah, I mean, you don't want to be uh,
you don't want to be rusty, you know, you want to be prepared.
Uh. And I think cowboths, you know, saying all the right
things as far as that kind ofstuff goes. But I still think that
Nuggets fans are eager for this one. The Lakers taunted and haunted the Nuggets
for such a long time that Ithink Nuggets fans are really reveling uh in
(32:36):
this right similar to the way KansasCity fans are doing to the Broncos right
now, because the Broncos taunted KansasCity for so long they were the one
that the Chiefs were chasing for soloon the Lway era, the Manning era,
all this stuff, and and nowthe bro the Chiefs had their quarterback
of Pat Mahomes, and I thinkthey're they're kind of feeling their cells too.
The one thing that I love aboutthe playoffs, especially this time of
the year, even the game thatthe Nuggats gonna play against the Lakers,
(32:59):
is we always looking at heroes andvillains. Right So, right now,
Nikola Jokish is that hero and theLebron James and the Lakers, because the
crown is on the head of LebronJames. So now the Nuggets fans look
at it. We're going to dethroneyou. We did it already, but
we're going to do it again, and we're going to make sure that you
(33:19):
walk out of Denver, Colorado. As a court gesture, yeah, I
mean want you wanna walk out ofDenver and leave him feeling broke, similar
to the way you will be ifyou have too many only Fans subscriptions.
Rocko's Country and that rolls on afterthis
