(00:23):
Dave Logan episode, so you cango there and get all that. Thanks
to the KWA Sports Show for letus use their Calvin Booth interview from earlier
today as well. I wanted totalk a little bit about the Denver Broncos.
We talked a little bit about theuniforms. There's some leaks out there.
Well, we're gonna kind of steerclear that, although I will say

(00:44):
that there is a leak out thereof a helmet that was just released not
too long ago on the the AntonioBrown CTESPN thing or whatever, and that
is not the helmet that I saw. Now, granted I only had a
front on look at the helmet solike the behind thing, if it's if
there's like some kind of half stripeback there, I wouldn't know. I

(01:04):
only got a forward view of it, but I would say that the helmet
that he presented is not the helmetI saw. For multiple reasons, We'll
always be to be honest, thereare some leagues that are out there that
are not genuine in nature, Sois this kind of you have to be
careful what you kind of assigned towhat the jerseys are going to look like

(01:30):
once they are released on Monday, and well, for me, man,
I can't wait to see what theyactually look like and what the team came
up with and what they're presenting tothe fans. Is always a fun time
of the year when teams do this, and I have to say this,
Man, give it to the NFLfor once again making the league and each

(01:51):
individual team and branding them within themselvesby having kind of these whole jerseys unveiling.
Because other professional leagues they don't dothis, and the NBA they don't
do it, in MLS, MLB, NHL they don't. Well, the
NFL finds a way of capturing thefan enthusiasm, of building up the hype

(02:17):
if you will, in the offseason where nothing is happening. So kudos
to them for doing that. Andright now, this fan base, they're
chopping at the bit because everyone wantsto know is this realm? Is this
fake? What's happening? Right? So you get a chance to see it
on Monday, you get a chanceto see it rolled out on Monday.

(02:38):
But I will tell you the picturethat that's out there right now, that's
not what I saw. So onthe helmet is not what I saw.
What about that picture that Nick Sinisterduring the break we picture of the mile
High Sports post. I don't knowwas talking above. I didn't get it
with the fifty eighty on the button, Oh I saw? Its me that

(03:00):
Nick doesn't have my number. He'stoo he's too well, you don't get
guys numbers, remember he was right, he doesn't. I don't get his
numbers. But he was great forthat. He was also he's also too
much of a deal, Like I'mtoo poor to have Nick's number. So
I gotta go through Grant, Igotta go through a little of the show,
like I gotta. I'm surprised whenyou know you stepped out during the
break, But Nick was just searchinghis phone on only fans all the time.

(03:23):
I'm surprised he had time to doanything else. It's good. Nick
is an avid number merchandise collector andthe number one. I'm telling you remember
being merchandise anything right? Can't tellyou. I mean, it's it's a
fork in the row. You guyswant to go straight down the middle,
straight down the middle. Yes,Grant, I said that to you because
I showed that it's a been.I was like, I found that hilarious

(03:45):
and we were laughing at it.So I was like, I have to
show Grant so so he actually seeswhat fans are putting out. Now,
it's getting ridiculous out there. Yeah, the three or three stars the Rocky
should have posted their cockpit video toOnlyFans. Nick Lee, he's out,

(04:06):
he's done. He don't produces,he's done, five six six nails and
text line. You guys would toget involved in the conversation. I didn't
want to pivoted this back to footballa little bit, as there was a
big shift yesterday in the betting oddsat number two overall. Previously, jayde

(04:26):
and Daniels had been pretty much thefavorite all of a sudden, he shifted
to even with Rake May last nightlike late last night, and then all
of a sudden, over the courseof the night, shifted all the way
back to Jayde Daniels being the favoriteto go at number two again. Later
on in the day, Adam Scheftergot on Pat McAfee show said he expects
Jane Daniels at number two. Hewent into you know that there's been some

(04:47):
uh maybe a misunderstanding or maybe somehard feelings from Jayden and his agent about
Washington who allegedly thought that Jade Danielsthought he was there as a visit and
instead it was a group visit andwas sort of the fuddled door turned off
by that. How does that workwhen you walk into a building and you

(05:10):
see other top prospects in the roomand sometimes like it may seem like a
bad thing, but let me puta positive spin on it, right,
Yeah, yeah, I do,because like at the combine, we always
look to see, okay, well, which guys are participating, which guys
are not, which guys are elevatingtheir level of competitive juices based on the

(05:33):
guys that they're around. So tome, when you bring those guys in
the room, which teams. Rarelydo you get a chance to see,
well, who's going to elevate theirtheir love and raise themselves to the top.
Because if you're in the room, you said, you put a bunch
of alpha dogs in the room,Who's going to emerge as an alpha dog

(05:54):
amongst the alpha dogs? That's thefirst thing I'm looking for in this group.
There's a great story back in theday. I'm trying to remember who
told it about Ozzie Newsome and hewas interviewing players coming out of I think
it was the University of Michigan defense. I think it was it was David
Harris from Michigan anyway, So hewas interviewing all these guys and they were

(06:15):
he was asking him who the youknow, who the alpha was? You
know who's who's who's the alpha,Who's who's the alpha on the defense?
Who's the leader on the defense? And everybody was saying David Harris, David
Harris. And then there was thisdefensive line prospect who said it, no,
it was me. I was aleader, That's what he knew.
It was like, well, everybodyelse is saying that David Harris wasn't no,
no, no, no, no, I'm the leader of that defense.
That's why Ozzie was like, well, you guys said film session,

(06:38):
right, you guys said, youknow, you went over somebody's house film
session. Who's house to go overto? It's like, what went over
to David's place? Yeah, He'slike, who held the remote when you
were watching? When you watch thetake, let's let's David. He's like,
okay, so David was the leaderon defense and I was like,
man, but me, that's thething. You want to find out who
the because it's of his football. It's a room full of alphas. You
want to find out who the alphais. I know watch them criticized for

(07:00):
doing that, but I like thatbecause when you sit in that room and
you see which guy's going to takethe lead, especially when the first question
is asked to me, that tellsme a lot because as a young player
coming in, and especially at thequarterback position, let's not be mistaken,
you're being thrust into an environment wherethere are older guys in the room.

(07:23):
You're gonna be asked to lead thoseolder guys as a young guy coming in,
and you want to know that thatguy that you're bringing in that you're
either giving up draft capital or you'resaying that this is our guy. You
want to make sure that he canbe just that your guy, because we
know as a rookie coming in atany position, guys struggle because the environment

(07:44):
is so intimidating. It reminds melike, well, the first time that
I walked into the NFL facility, man, I was just so I was
really happy to be there. Andyou know, my first team was the
Cincinnati Bengals, and I was like, Wow, this is the NFL,
regardless of whether the Bengals record wereat that time. And I started seeing
all these types of players that whenI was in college I grew up watching,

(08:05):
and I was like, they're rightin front of me. But he
goes to a point where they realized, what's you go on the field?
Uh uh no, no, no, no no. I got to feed
my family. So all that fandomyou have, you stayed your ass,
and the locker room in evaporates realquick quick and it leaves quick. So
this was great for the Washington teamto do this, so you can see
how guys are going to react tothe environment that they're going to be pressed

(08:30):
into when it comes to live games. Good buddy of mine used to work
for the Rams in their scouting department. They used to do the same thing
back in the day, and theydid. They would keep an eye on
those kinds of things. They wentto the Dave and Busters down there at
the Earth City back in the restaurantSaint Louis, and they would go to
and they would keep eye on thesekinds of things. See, they'd go
they take the athletes to go outand have fun with the qu you know,

(08:52):
a group of kids. See youknow, see who did what,
who was participating? Who was toogood for all that kind of stuff.
And they drafted a guy one yearsolely because of this. At the end
of the night, this guy wentand grabbed all the carts, all the
unused tickets on it or whatever likethat, went cat and got it all,
put all the points together, putit all on one car, cash
all in and then went and grabbedall the kids to go get candy with

(09:13):
the last of attention to detail. And they drafted a guy based on that.
They used a pick based on thatguy doing that. You know what,
That's great because these are the thingsthat often don't get measured because during
this draft process there is always measuringweight, speed and all of these things.
But those are the tangible things thatyou really want to see from a

(09:37):
guy. How they step up tothe plane. Now here's something I would
love to see teams incorporate this intothe team building exercise, but it probably
won't happen, but you'll be ableto see determine a lot about a player
like you. Take you know, some guys out some you have your thirty
you know, thirty visits or whatever. Take some guys out paintballing, Yeah,

(09:58):
you know, just us teamwork andwho's the alpha, real fast or
something like that. Even if youdon't want to do paintball because you said,
well, you don't want to putguys in situations where they could get
injured. As you wave wave meoff, I'm waving you off on that
one. But let them let themplay laser tag, put them on teams,
right that. That's that's sensible enough. I know we get to talk
about my own paintball injuries on thisshow and so, but you know your

(10:20):
paint I'm making fun of it.Nobody's talking about paintball injuries. But listen,
when I play guys on the byeweek, they went paintball on it.
Yeah, and when they came back, there was obvious scholar dude that
hurts, like, yeah, you'relike two hundred feet per second. W
jello hurts at that speed. It'sit's it hurts. But I mean,

(10:41):
nobody's talking about a paintball. Nobodysaid like, I got I start wearing
an athletic supporter because I got Igot double tapped one time and it was
not it was not pleasant. Arewe going back to your only fans account
again? What you followed? Theway to segue back right just saying it
was yeah, it was very verypick We still on the army though.

(11:03):
We shted to go out there, and you know, you got these recreational
weekend warrior guys. We go outthere as a year as the fire team
and go out there and you listenreal talk. That's a that's one way
to have team building exercises. Iknow some companies paid an enormous amount of
money for that. But you takesomeone out, whether it's paintballing or it's
laser tag, you get those competitivejuices going. You get a chance to

(11:26):
see, well, who raises theirlevel of play, who are really competitive
and which guy just kind of wantto hide in the in the background.
So for me, I would liketo see teams do that. But this,
this reminds me what Washington did bringin all these quarterbacks in to be
able to find to just kind oflook at guys, look look at them

(11:46):
like real listen. You could talkto a guy with the phone and you
can evaluate them from afar. Butto have guys in the room and just
walk out of the room, right, just put just take one notepad in
the middle of the room amongst thesequarterbacks and walk out. See which guy
grabs a no pet first. THOsounds really silly, But for me that

(12:09):
says a lot yeah and should right, there's a lot of So I don't
fault Washington for having this group thing. My question is whether or not they
were clear to Jade Daniels, becauseeverybody else knew it was a group deal
when they were coming in for thisvisit. Jade Daniels apparently was under the
impression that it was not a groupthing, that he was there for an
individual top thirty visit. Well, maybe that's by design, because if you
tell everyone else, you don't tellhim. He walks in, he sees

(12:33):
these guys how does he react?Right? And it's I'm just I'm trying
to lay all the information out here. I think, I think, do
we have the Cheffer clip? Allright, let's see what I'm Chefer say.
The agent tweeted the other night essentiallythat he tweeted all these emoji signs,
and I think what happened there, let's be honest, is that Jaden
Daniels was not particularly enthralled to beincluded in a speed dating group of quarterbacks.

(12:58):
I think that he thought it wouldbe basically by himself. He thought
he would be going in there. And then shortly before the visit found out
that Michael Pennix, Shooter's going in, Drake May's going in, Jjent McCarthy's
going in, and so the dynamicschange again. I point to the Bears.
The Bears brought in one quarterback,Caleb Williams, one guy. They

(13:20):
didn't bring in four guys. Theydidn't bringing four guys at once. They
brought him one quarterback. They senta message, this is our guy.
The commanders get to do whatever theywant to do. It's their team who
cares, and that's the thing theydo. They get the brother draft process
anyway, they want. I thinkJadan Daniels gets to react anyway he wants,
but I think that reacting in thatway is probably not the way you

(13:41):
want to be reacting. My opinionon this is Jadon Daniels wants a commitment
from Washington at this point, thesame way that Caleb Williams has from the
Bears, like that's our guy.And I think he wants like, Okay,
I'm your guy, quit horse androw, we're here, you know
kind of thing, And I thinkWashington wanted to test it and see,
hey, are you our guy?Listen. I'm fine with Washington did,

(14:01):
and I understand why something may feelindifferent to that. But you want to
see that national kind of natural, raw reaction to a given situation, and
you want to show Jade Dames like, look, man, there's still some
other quarterbacks out here. We arenot really sure. We're still trying to

(14:22):
figure this out. We want tosee how you're going to react to pressure
and being in that type of environment. But also this could actually fire up
jayde Dames. So let's just saythat Washington does select him at number two,
right, he comes in knowing asthough when he came in with his
visit. He was there with allthese other quarterbacks. So he's saying in

(14:45):
his mind and this campus saying, well, look, they didn't really think
that you were the guy at thetime. Now they selected you. Now
you need to go in there andshow them that you are the guy.
So there's so many mental games thatare played this time of year. But
I like the aspect of letting aguy know that no, you're not the
only choice. It's like dating.Yeah, right, And that's the point.

(15:05):
We're not at to pop the questionthing yet that happens on that happens
on Thursday. We're not living togetheryet. So I understand sort of both
sides of this, but I feellike that Jayden, and especially as agent,
we're in the wrong here because hisagency has been out there. I
mean, they like they're weird, man. They've been posting stuff that just
like I'm like, this is aprofessional agency. Well, it's trying to
play the mind manipulation game. Becausewe know how this works. There are

(15:30):
certain things that are going to beposted. Virtue seeing the link, yeah,
you know, but these guys areliking tweets that are bashing the commanders.
They're they're they're posting you know,thinking emojis over people questioning the commander's
decision and stuff like that. I'mlike, cool, you see all that,
but I wouldn't be posting that,like you're supposed to be a professional
sports agency. Once again, it'sthe game. Who's to say that there

(15:52):
hasn't been a discussion already taking placewith Jane Dames where he knows where he's
going, right, it's just basedon their behavior that just still cut it
up in the air. But youcan try to throw someone off the sid
Yeah, that's part of this process, is it not? I think so.
I just think that, like Ithink playing too many games at the
end is a bad idea. IfI'm the commanders, I would have done
this already. I'm not doing itthe last week last you know that kind

(16:17):
of thing. I would have doneit already. I see this is the
last mental tests maybe, And I'mnot faulting them for it. I'm just
saying I would have done it different, Okay. I Like, if Jane's
my guy, and I believe heis, I would have you know,
at this point, we'd already madea commitment, would already let him know
we'd already have him in the play. You want to make sure that your
players that are coming in know thatwhat kind of coaching they're walking into it

(16:38):
is going to be competitive. Don'tthink that because you were the guy on
the collegiate level, you walking inhere, you're gonna be the guy.
And that's fair as you were aHeisman winner in college. And I don't
mean bleep. Now you've deal withromn NFL six packs. Up next,
Broncos Country Tonight. Welcome back toit, Broncos Country Tonight. Benjamin Olbrighten,
Nick Ferguson, Grant Smith here withyou plastic six nine yeers a text

(16:59):
one. But it's time for anNFL six pack. It's time for the
NFL six pat I'm going to tradea lot of beer, insight and inside
information you can't find anywhere else.No. Six the top six NFL headlines.
What Rock Bowers wasn't mentioned by nameduring Jets general manager Joe douglas press
conference today, but one hard toread between lines. Mock drafts, who

(17:22):
obviously frequently had the former Georgia stargoing to the Jets with a tenth overall
pick, recently visited with the team. During the presser, Douglas was discussing
different types of offensive playmakers that arein this UE's class and said, there's
a tight end that's a quote Swissarmy knife in addition to a number of
other talented wideouts. Nowarts is theonly player that really fits that description.
And Douglas field a follow up onwhether they could take a tight end at

(17:44):
number ten, saying, quote thattight end can turn it into someone that's
something like Kansas City, San Franciscoor what Sam Laporta did last year in
Detroit was a real dynamic weapons foryour offense. Guys have put a lot
of stress on the defense because theycreate mismatches hard to put a linebacker on
them, to put a dB onhim, creates a size mismatch safety to
be able to run play man coverage. So I think the right type of
tight end could be a real weapon. Answer does little to suggest that Bowers

(18:06):
won't be under consideration if he's availableand the Jets are picking, and couldn't
be even a shiny new target forAaron Rodgers' fall. I personally have projected
rock powers to the Jets at ten. What say you, Nick Ferguson,
I say, if that happens, like look out that's ill for real because
when you look at the fact thatthey added Tyrens Smith to the lineup and

(18:27):
Mike Williams, I know he's stillcoming back from injury. They just look
at how competitive the Jets were evenwithout Aaron Rodgers in the fall and Zach
Wilson being the guy. So yougive Aaron Rodgers, a healthy Aaron Rodgers,
a player like Brock Fowers, thatchanges everything in the AFC as a
conference for me, because you justlook at what the Jets did defensively,

(18:49):
you add Brock Bowers, It's like, dude, that's that's lights out city.
I think you're gonna do it.A lot of people talk about the
offensive tackle whatever there. I thinkthey're going to do that. I think
they know they're pushing all in onAaron Rodgers, and I think this is
the best move they can make.If they do that, I know who
I'm snagging all my fantasy football team. Oh yeah, yes, I just

(19:11):
those. It can be Bred Brown, whether you got I'm just saying two.
The division rival Buffalo Bills are puttingtwenty five percent of the team up
for sale. The Pogola family isputting a minority interest in the Bills up
for sale. Bills confirmed the newsto Tim Graham of The Athletic, but
declined to reveal how much of theteam is for sale. Graham reports that
the working figure is twenty five percent, with the number dot set in stone.

(19:33):
The Piole family has retained to Allenin Company to explore the potential sale
of a non controlling minority interest inthe Bills. The team said in a
statement to Graham, these discussions onlyinvolve the Bills, no other team,
no investment would be possible. Oh, that's the Pogola family maintaining a controlling
interest in the team, and theycontinue to commitment to Western New York Highmark
Stadium, et cetera, et cetera. Neither the team know, the Pogola

(19:56):
family commented further. Graham said poleventually could decide not to all part of
the Bills, but he is listeningto offers to become a limited partner.
Skyrocketing valuations of NFL teams and theestate taxes have made it difficult for sole
ownership. Forbes estimates the Bills werethree point seven billion as of August twenty
twenty three. Terry Kimbigiley used cashto purchase the team for a then record

(20:17):
one point four billion back in twentyfourteen. Commanders, of course, recently
sold a group headed by Josh Harrisfor six point h five billion. The
NFL does not allow owners to sella limited partnership stake to private equity firms,
unlike other sports. Bill's new stadiumis addially projected to cost one point
four billion, but could be closerto two. The goals are responsible for
any cost overruns, with the state'scontribution capped at six hundred million and Erie

(20:41):
counties a two hundred and fifty million. So basically, they bought the team
for one point four billion back intwenty fourteen, a twenty five percent stake
would be roughly a billion dollars rightnow, and they would basically recoup their
money or close to it at thispoint, plus allow them to defray costs
on the stadium. Is a smartmove. Selling twenty five percent of the
Buffalo Bills right now is a smartmove. But will they be able to

(21:03):
do it? And I understand thereare a lot of individuals who who have
the cash would love to say thatthey have a stake in the NFL franchise.
But here's the where I look atit, the Buffalo Bill's value has
gone down. I think when youlook at where Josh Allen the Buffalo Bills
are and in pursuit of a championshipthat, yeah, they just left.
They lost out on that. There'sno Jordan Poyer, there's no Michael Hide,
he's no longer there, and there'sno Stefan Diggs. So when you

(21:26):
look at this roster, it's notbuilt to win a Super Bowl anymore,
in my opinion. So that valuethat you thought you had like four years
ago, it's not there. ButBenjamin Albright, I know you deal in
bitcoll anything. If you had thattype of change, go ahead, why
might break them off a little something? Go right ahead. I'm just saying
three former Arizona State, New YorkChests and Kansas City Chiefs head football coach

(21:48):
Herm Edwards likely won't be coaching incollege again anytime. So if ever,
via Noah for todto two four sevensports dot Com, the NCAA has issued
a three year show cause order towardsfor his role in recruiting violations within the
program. Means for the duration ofthe order, any school that wants to
hire Edwards would have to show causeas to why they should not be sanctioned
by the NC DOUBLEA. The violationsarose from meetings with more than thirty high

(22:12):
school recruits during the COVID nineteen deadperiod. Arizona State was also ordered to
vacate ten wins from twenty twenty oneand twenty twenty two, which drops edwards
ASU record to eighteen and twenty.Raiders coach Antonio Pearce, an assistant at
Arizona State under Edwards, remains underinvestigation by the NC DOUBLEA. He could
also face a show cause order.Edwards is currently working for ESPN, return

(22:33):
to the network after leaving Arizona State. How do we feel about Herma Edwards
getting a show cause order? Well, this, I mean, we've heard
a lot of things happen to coachesin situations like this, but this is
crazy. I mean, think aboutcoach Harbaugh. What it was alleged that
he did during you know, COVID. I think bodykid a sandwich or something
like that. I don't think HermanEdwards is really concerned about this and the

(22:57):
possibility jump a banking college for well, I think he did that. Now
he's back at ESPN, so he'scomfortable where he's at, and once again
they say time heals, all willso you give a couple of years to
go by May this too shall pass, and her members if he wants to
May get another job. I doubtit'll be at the college ranks, though

(23:19):
probably not four Brett Veach today,he said uncertainty about for she Rice doesn't
necessarily complic complicate their draft plans. If she Rice plays all or most of
the season, it'll probably be thechief number one receiver. But if he
doesn't, the Chiefs will need somebodyelse to fill that role. Rice's future,
of course, is uncertain following hisarrest on eight felony charges for starting

(23:42):
a multi car crash while speeding ona Dallas highway last month. Faces possible
NFL punishment as well. Chief generalmanager Brett Beeach was as Friday whether that
affects the team's approach to the draft, said that quote, I don't know
if he does, because I thinkwe have a lot of needs. Beach
said, ya, NFL dot comsone of those things that you go into
every draft. You look at aroster short of a quarterback, maybe linebacker.

(24:03):
I think there's needs on the oldline for sure guard, center,
depth, the competition left tackle, receiver, there's a need corner we just
lost sneed. We have some youngguys coming back. The corners are hard
to find. Probably throw safety inthere too. One of those scenarios where
there's a lot of positions that wouldmake sense for us. And again you
start the old line D line receiverpositions. But it's a long season.
Depth is important. Guy's contracts runout. He goes on to just kind

(24:26):
of list the thing they have. They did sign Hollywood Brown earlier this season,
and they also have Justin Watson,Sky Moore and still Kadarius Tony,
believe it or not, at theposition. Rice was the team's top option
if the leading Chiefs wide receivers withnine hundred and thirty yards seven touchdowns on
seventy nine receptions last season as arookie. And it was interesting to me

(24:47):
how Brett Beach comes out and talksabout oval hole the Super Bowl champion Kansas
City Chiefs have in their roster anddid not answer the obvious question there about
you know, whether or not theyneed to draft the receiver is insurance on
Rashie Rice. Well, that isone of the better no answer answers that
we've heard talking about how deficient theteam is, but you could say that

(25:11):
this is a team that just wonthe Super Bowl went some decent play by
Patrick Mahomes, but with some greatdefensive impact plays as well. So,
yes, wide receiver is somewhat ofa concern, especially it's with the ideas
that is with one of your topyoung wide receivers. So you could bet
at thirty two the Kansay, theChiefs and Brettbeach they're gonna think about,

(25:33):
Hey, what wide receivers are upthere that we might want to move up
there for because they're still in theirchampionship window. But Patrick Mahoons, you
want to make sure that they armhim with the best talent. And there
is something out there that we knowthat Rashid Rice may not be with the
team for an extended period of time. Yeah, I mean, if I'm
Kansas City, we're probably taking insurance. I don't know if I'm taking the
first round, but we're definitely gettinginsurance on another receiver if we believe in

(25:56):
a guy. Because this looks likeit's going to be something that's gonna have
civil and criminal penalties, not includingwhatever there is from the league byes.
A long time NFL executive, BillTobin, passed away at the age of
eighty three. His death was announcedtoday by the Bengals. Tob had spent
two decades consulting with the Bengals, and his son, Duke Tobin, is
the bengals current director of player personnel. Bill has brother, Vince Bolls,

(26:19):
played college ball at Missouri and sogoing to have a long coaching career,
including a stint as head coach ofthe Cardinals, and Vince died last year
at the age of seventy nine.Tobin was drafted by the Oilers in sixty
three, played a season for him, two seasons of the CFL, and
then works as player personnel for theBears. Received a lot of credit for
helping build the eighty five Bears. In ninety four, Tobin became the general
manager of the Colts. He wasrunning the draft room when they drafted Marshall

(26:44):
Faulk back in ninety four, builta team that made the surprise run of
the AFC Championship in ninety five, was running the team when they drafted Marvin
Harrison in nineteen ninety six. ButTobin is probably best known again his greatest
notoriety helping make the NFL Draft mustsee television when he manded to know who
in the hell is Mel Kiper?Anyway, when Kuiper criticized his pick of
Trev Alberts on ESPN back in nineteenninety four, Mel Kuiper left a really

(27:10):
classy message for the family today onTwitter. I thought it was great,
you know, talking about it passingaway and be a great, great person
and all that kind of stuff. But yeah, Bill Totin passed away.
You know, it's unfortunate to hearof his passing. But for me,
you just reflect on, you know, what he was able to do in
his career, the team that hewas a part of, the championship runs,

(27:32):
the playoffs, the players who arenow Hall of Famers that he was
part of evaluating or selecting. Tome, that's how you leave your mark
on the league. But also thewhole thing with Mel Kuiper, It is
quite funny. It is a SoundBite, but it's something that I know Mail
will never forget himself. Yeah,I mean this was one of those things

(27:53):
that I think, you know,Mel mel did a classic job, and
it was you know, Bill Tobingot on there with Chris Boards and said,
you know who, the l's melKuiper and made mel Kiper legend.
You know, in that moment,it really made the drafts sort of must
see appointment television. That was themoment that made it must see television.
I think at that point, sovery interesting. Six college football gonna look
a lot more like the NFL intwenty twenty four. Insta and now several

(28:15):
changes of the football front today, including one that should help eliminate the chance
of any more signs stealing scandals inthe future. In the helmet communication between
coaches and designated players on the fieldwill be allowed for the first time,
as in the NFL, the quarterbackand the defensive player the green got on
their helmet and be able to listento calls from the sideline before communication cuts
out with fifteen seconds left on theplay clock. That'll put an end on

(28:36):
the flashing signals, Connor Stallion's imitatorsnonsense that happened the Michigan program and another
shifts. Teams will now have theability to watch in game video in tablets
on the sideline. The NCIFA alsoannounced the games will now I have a
two minute warning at the end ofboth has, which is another change that
has long been part of the professionalgame. What do you think about the
college football game adding a bunch ofNFL type updates, Well, I mean

(28:57):
something updates of graysome or not somuch. I like some of the updates,
especially, you know, a lotof the in game stuff, the
green dot being able to talk toplayers. That should kind of help speed
things up. But add to thecompetitiveness that we would we'd love to see
every week at every game, butit forces both players and coaches to be

(29:18):
efficient in the communication and dialogue. If you're not thorough and right to the
point now, you run the riskof having to burn the time out.
But I love the advances and technologyand how they move the game along.
Yeah, by the way, thetwo minute warning is not coming with a
TV timeout, So they're gonna havea two minute warning, but it doesn't
bring a TV timeout, So that'sthat feels a little weird to me.

(29:38):
I guess they'll eventually do that formore than first spends more time. If
you have a rocking band, yourband can actually display their unities. I
guess I don't I don't know whatI mean. I don't know if it's
a real timeout. It just stopsthe clock for two minutes and then you
snap, you know, the fortysecond clock keeps going. Like I wasn't
really clear on that, and Isubmitted a question because I didn't really understand
if that was the case, becausethey were adamant wasn't to TV timeout.

(29:59):
As far as the rest of itgo, I mean, I don't care
video on the sideline. I don'tcare talking in the helmets. I mean,
you know, I don't really careone way or the other. But
see the reason I care is becausethat is giving a lot of those players
early introduction into what is going tobe like playing on the NFL line.
I'm here for that, I guessI I'm okay with that. But at
the end of the day, Idon't know, Like I if it was

(30:22):
had stayed the old way, Iwouldn't have been mad about it. You
know, I don't know if anyof this stuff really jumps out at me.
Is you know, watching the videoon the sidelines, I think is
stupid to not be allowing that. But you know, beyond that, the
rest of the stuff I could have, It's it's fine one way or the
other. For me. I'm okayeither way. See, I thought you
would be really cool with it,and like because you're like a tech guy.

(30:44):
No. I like the video onthe sideline, but I'm not like
the rest of it that I don'treally care if they do the video and
that The one thing I do thinkis you're gonna see a lot more go
go tempo teams now trying to getup to the line so the coach can
get in the headset and tell thequarterback what he sees. And I'm worried
that it's gonna stunt quarterback development. There's there. Once again, they're pros
and cons to every single thing thatyou do, every chance and nuance that

(31:06):
you bring to the game. ButI don't think it's going to stunt the
growth of a lot of quarterbacks. It might help their development because once once
again, I look at it thisway, these are the elements that the
guys are going to be faced withwhen they get to the pro level.
We always had that conversation, whichguys are pro ready dealing with someone talking
to you in your helmet. Tome, that's not a great thing.

(31:29):
Sometimes it could get annoying, especiallyif a guy who's talking to you is
screaming at you. He's trying togive you playing that's gonna make you jumpy
as a quarterback. You get outthere, you know, and then your
second guessing yourself if you see somethingand the coach says he sees something else.
You know that kind of stuff.Think about it. It's a whole
lot better than seeing those signs withmade shift. Is it personality? You
want to see the four signs?Look at the sideline, weird symbols,

(31:55):
McConaughey's face right, and you gottraffic Thumbder's like, what the hell does
that mean? Well, Matthew McCaugheywas a Ben Star's agent in Traffic Tunner.
Yeah, but I mean that's aboutit. Like being at home on
washing It's like, yeah, Idon't get it. I just wonder what
those guys are gonna do during thegames. Now the guys used to hold
the signs, Yeah, yeah, what are They're not gonna be the new
get that guy? Probably what washe was? Again, those guys should

(32:16):
be paying attention anyway instead of holdingup signs, right or you got to
hear that. Get the headset onso you can hear the play. But
at the same time, if you'rea quarterback. You're not playing in the
game. You want to see thegame through the odds of the guy on
the field or are you holding upa damn sign? Oh? You remember?
You remember? It was that thecoach at Gus Malsham when he had
the guy who was belted in likehe clipped to him. He had like

(32:36):
a leash on him. So heshould get that guy so he couldn't wander
out that far. It's not likeyou see you're ever going to an amusement
park and you've seen parents, Yes, but there's his backpacks and the kids
is running around like where's that telephonecard going? Yes, you could see
an adult malesia OnlyFans dot co Nickwas looking at it during the last break.
You know, I love how youguys continue to try to plug me

(32:59):
into this. No one is pluggedOnly fans dot Com No one, as
though you guys seem to like youare the biggest fans as much as you
guys continue to bring it up andtalk about it. Look, I think
you pegged it. I have noidea that old right now if co hosted

(33:22):
with the two people on earth whodidn't know what what only Fans was yes.
I don't know if that makes mecultured or horrible. Well it probably
not both. Yeah, fair, very fair, probably absolutely ridiculous. We're
about a week away. Next weekwe will roll out our mock drafts.

(33:44):
Mine will my will debut Wednesday morning. We will roll out our mock drafts
and it will be on k dotcom, So you guys will stay stay
tuned for that. I get askedabout that a lot. That'll that'll go
Wednesday morn nor It used to beTuesday mornings, but the deadline to submit
for all the contests was at midnight, and I notice people start to copy.
So now I rolled that out onMidnesday, copy and paste they did.
I misspelled the prospect's name on purpose, and I saw other people with

(34:06):
their mock drafts having the same youknow, same as spelling. I knew,
I knew some copy paste action goingon, some copy pasta copy pasta
froncos country, and I rolls on, can't wait. Maybe it's this herbal
medication I've been using lately.
