(00:00):
Welcome to it Broncos country tonight. But with all Brian Nick Ferguson, Grant
Smith got runner right out to theKWA, A common spirit, a hotline
ringing on the anchored reporter at CBSNews Colorado. Our friend romy Bean Roby,
how you doing this evening? Ah, gentlemen, It's good to be
here, big, big week forColorado sports. You know you look back,
the Broncos got a new quarterback inthe draft, and Bowe nicks the

(00:23):
Abs and the Nuggets continue to rollon in their respective playoffs. The Colorado
Rockies are incredibly consistent at losing. And then there's the kerfuffle at CEU with
the latest comments from coach Prime andShador. We were talking a little bit
about that earlier. And while Ilove the fact that Colorado is currently the

(00:43):
center of the college football universe ina lot of ways, perhaps the quarterback
sitting there calling former teammates mid isnot the greatest Look. Yeah, you
know, it is funny that Ikeep going back to the fact that it
is crazy and fun to me thatColorado is the center of the football universe,

(01:06):
and it's still a kind of abizarre thing. Right all these year
or so later. But nonetheless,I think that my assumption was that came
out of a bit of you know, emotion defending his dad, but at
the end of the day, notthe best luck. And at the end
of the day, when you wantto go where you want to go,
if you're shouldor probably shouldn't be doingthat, I think it comes more from

(01:27):
me, you know, wanting todefend your dad aspect, I guess,
But it's like just certain situations yougot to take the high road, and
that's one of those where you probablyshould romy in your opinion, does this
kind of back and forth Twitter battle, beef, whatever you want to refer

(01:47):
to it as Does this put addedpressure on a program that is already surrounded
by pressure within itself. I don'tknow if it adds any pressure, only
because I think that pressure is alreadythere. I think the people who want
the Deon Sanders and the Bus tofail will perhaps this adds fuel to the

(02:08):
fire, but really I don't knowif it does or it doesn't, because
they're just hoping that they fail, and people that want Deon Sanders and the
Bus to succeed then will take aside of the young Sanders and the Bus
and just want them to succeed thatmuch more so. I guess, if
anything, it just divides that lineeven more so. But this is like
a great psychological experiment that they shouldstudy at college campuses one day. Is

(02:32):
the effect that the prime effect interms of how much people either love or
hate them and everything that happens, this tiny little thing becomes just massive news.
It's kind of crazy. I don'tknow. I don't really think it
adds more pressure, but I dothink to your point, Nick, the
pressure, the pressure is there, and the pressure is there because they put

(02:52):
the pressure there, and you knowthey they want that pressure there. I
guess they want all of this attentionand the success for failure is going to
be amplified because of it. Ordoes this fall in the old time beefs
you know, Magic versus Bird,Biggie versus poc Nick Wright and Keishawn Johnson
versus the Denver Nuggets? Where doesthis fall in the old time Beef's list?

(03:16):
Certainly not as high as any ofthose, especially not Nick right in
the Nuggets. I mean, that'sthe Alzheimer, right, Josh. I
don't know. I feel like I'mtrying to think of something witty and funny
and I don't have anything leave ita good one. Well, speaking of
the Nuggets, I mean, yougot Jamal Murray first time ever game winning
shots multiple times final seconds of aseries over the Lakers. Lebron's future there

(03:43):
remains a question mark, but theNuggets look like they're dialed in for the
playoffs. You saw a little bitof faltering down the stretch, but then
you know they can kind of putit together back here in the playoffs.
But they have what I think isthe toughest matchup on paper coming up next
with the Wolves. You got ateam that's got to grow a lot of
length, They're strong, and Edwardsprovides a challenging matchup that you're going to
have to kind of adjust to defensively. What is our confidence level in the

(04:06):
Denver Nuggets against the Minnesota Timberwolves.I am confident, but I completely agree
this is going to be the toughestmatchup that they played all of last year's
playoffs and arguably probably the rest ofthe way here too, is the Minnesota
Timberwolves were quite literally built to beatthe Denver Nuggets. Former Nuggets GM Tim
Connelly went over to Minnesota and triedto and essentially trying to do what he

(04:29):
helped do here in Denver. Alot of those players, of course,
were there when he got there, but outside of Rudy Gobert, really that
homegrown idea bringing in a few addedpieces, but you're growing it right aud
around your talent, around and aroundKat and this team is That's the entire
kind of motto, almost, ifyou will, of how the Minnesota Timberwolves

(04:51):
have been built by Tim Connelly. And you have to have a lot of
confidence in Tim Connelly. Look whathe did here in Denver, and Calvin
Booth, who is under him,is now continued it and he is out
there in Minnesota. I mean, give this guy his flowers. But again,
Minnesota was quite literally built to beatthe Denver Nuggets. Now when it
comes down to it, and thisis kind of a maybe you can call

(05:13):
it a lazy, a cop outanswer, whatever you want. Kolok is
the best player on the planet. As long as he is out there on
the court. I always have confidencethat, quite simply, nobody can beat
the Denver Nuggets in seven games.I do think this one will go six
or seven. I'm picking Nuggets andseven right now. But health is a
huge factor. Obviously Jamal Murray. He needs to stay healthy. KCP was
battling man through that game five.Hopefully a little bit of time off this

(05:35):
rest is huge. But health isa big factor for the Nuggets. I
think their bodies through last year's runand now it's like you can see a
lot of them have kind of struggledwith injuries here and there throughout the season.
They have to stay healthy. Butif they're at there, if they're
healthy or at least push through,I still think they went out. But
this one's gonna be tough. Andfor Minnesota it comes down to what are

(05:56):
you gonna do. If you're gonnadouble Nikoliokic, somebody else is to be
opened. And Michael Malone said ittoday. If they're going to double,
they're going to double Murray. We'regoing to get wide open looks in that
other They have confidence that other person'sgoing to make it. And that's the
hardest thing with the Nuggets when startingfive is out there, if you double
somebody, somebody else is open andthey're probably going to get buckets. So
I'm curious to see how Minnesota attacksit as well. And let's be honest,

(06:19):
and is a problem, and he'sso much fun to watch. I
can't have as much fun watching himthis series, you know, but he
is fun to watch. I wastalking to some individual I know in Minnesota
who covers all things sports in thatarea, and it's funny that you bring
up Anthony Edwards because his level ofproduction is going to be important and determining

(06:43):
whether the Nuggets actually accomplished what everyoneis hoping that they do. But if
you're a coach Malone, how doyou, I guess, stop or slow
down Anthony Edwards if at all?I mean, that's a great question,
and we're going to find out.But it'll be interesting the matchups that they
put on Anthony Edwards, who theyput on them, how they try to

(07:04):
slow him down. You know.I think last year a lot they had
TCP on him. They think theirfirst round on him a little bit when
the bench was out there. SoI am curious what they're going to do.
I don't know if he's throwing andGordon over there a little bit.
But Anton is one of those guyswhere you know, as clichieated as he's
going to get his you have tojust figure out how to how to limit

(07:25):
it, how to pressure him andare you confident, you know, maybe
doubling him and not everybody letting somebodyelse live, or you know, might
have to do that. But Iam curious to see what the niggest game
plan is for him, because hehas been and continues to just to elevate
the elevated game. In the biggestmoment, Colorado Avalanche knock off the Winnipeg

(07:46):
Jets in a series that was supposedto feature strength on strength, the Jets
one of the better defensive teams, but one of the best goalies, if
not best goalie in hockey, andit turned into two teams. I'm merging
goals to one another. Where dothe Abs go from here? And what
is our confidence level in them goingforward? I have to be honest and

(08:07):
I'm trying to pace myself here. But the Ads are playing like the Abs
that won the Cup two years ago. They are absolutely unstoppable. And you
got to give Alexander Yorg give allthe credit in the world. I was
one of the people, I willadmit it that was just dogging him after
that first game. I'm admitting it. I went on TV and I publicly

(08:28):
apologized to him. I'm he wasnot good. He was a sim it
was a disaster, but boy, that guy just shut everybody up, myself
included, and I give him allthe credit in the world. And the
defense in front of them got theiract together as well. So I mean,
after Georgie gave up seven in thatfirst one, he only gave it

(08:50):
five the rest of the way.He is playing so great. But when
the Abs play with this level ofspeed and offensive power, they're just so
hard to beat. Nake McKinnon,Kale mccarr playing like the best players in
the world. They look so goodthat when they're playing this fast, it
is the exact same formula as howthey won the Cup two years ago,
plus the depths. The depth scoringhas come through too. It's a lot

(09:13):
of things they didn't have last year. They lacked the depth last year.
They lacked this kind of level ofintensity that we're seeing. And so and
Miko Randon finally got loose. Themoose got loose. You were waiting for
it to happen. It's like oncethe damn broke, you feel pretty good
about it. You cannot understate thevalue of Val Nachushkin on this team,
But what he brings I don't know. If the numbers have changed, guys,

(09:37):
But as of yesterday, of thetop ten points leaders in the NHL
Playoffs, fifty percent around the ColoradoAvalanche. So when you're playing like that,
your odds are pretty good. Sogoing into this previous matchup with the
Winnipeg Jets, the Jets dominated theseason series. And when you look at
a who weights well, the adsa weight, whether whether it is the

(10:01):
Vegas Knights or the Dallas Stars.I mean, they're two and one this
past season the regular season against theKnights and three and one with the advantage
over to Dallas Stars. Do youhave a reference preferencexcuse me as a fan,
who you rather see the Abs actuallyface? No, I kind of
want Doubts. I think a lotof people will, okay, the Nights.
I kind of want Dallas because Ithink they're a little bit weaker defensively,

(10:24):
and if the Avs can continue toplay at the level they have offensively,
I just feel like that for me, feels like a little bit better
of a matchup than Vegas Knights, even though I think the popular opinion is
Vegas, I'm gonna go with Dallas. Interesting. Interesting, Yeah, the
Vegas has been the has been thefavorite I think I've seen on social media

(10:46):
from the fans as far. Nickand I were talking a little bit earlier,
as the Broncos obviously drafted bow Nickswith the twelfth overall pick in the
draft, and I've talked to peoplewho and I kind of try to get
the temperature of the fan base here, and I think this fan base would
be crushed if he was not startingWeek one. How big of a disappointment
would it be if bo Nicks isnot the starting quarterback of the never Broncos

(11:09):
week one over Zach Wilson, JaredStidham and Ben Denucci. You know,
I think it's one of those thingsthat I think that's what the fan base
wants. I think that's what everybodywould like to see. But I think
that there's also I could see boNicks starting, you know, middle of
the season too. You know,if he's not ready, you really want

(11:30):
to throw him out there and bustanother guy. Now that being said,
I really the fans of you know, they just they want to see the
kid. They want to see himgo. But maybe he needs a little
bit more time to develop. AndI don't think that's the worst thing in
the world if you don't start himright away, I think because I think
the fans would be okay with itbecause they know full well that Zack Wilson

(11:52):
is not the long term option, right and that they I would hope I
would think people would see that okay, will come out when he's ready.
That being said, fans are impatient. We know this. They've been waiting
eight years. So I think everyonewould much prefer to see bo Nicks and
they will be a little bit disappointed. But I don't know. I was
disappointed as if you put him intoearly right, and then we're here again

(12:16):
next year and then sending out cryptictweets after another quarterback. You know this
is funny because here's the thing Ido that every year. This is the
first year I got caught. Iwould have never caught on, by the
way, So kudos to the Internetfor final figuring that one out. I
will I have to come up witha heart or a more difficult puzzle for
people to solve next year. Yeah, you better hope it's not like Shador.

(12:39):
Good luck with that one. Ihonestly, I kind of want the
challenge. Ooh, I'm excited forthe you sentence speaking of challenge that the
NFL is on the verge of anotherchallenge because every single year we talk about
players safety and Roder Goodell talk talkedabout the idea of having eighteen games.

(13:01):
We had Troy Vincent on and wetalked to him about how will the league
kind of get that done with theirtheir I guess network partners, but more
importantly getting the NFLPA to kind ofagree to that. When you look at
the idea of eighteen games, Iknow it's great for us being as though
you're covering the sport, well, when you think about the game as a

(13:24):
whole, I mean, should thatbe the push for eighteenth maybe nineteen game
NFL game? You know what's funny, Nick, As you're asking me this
question, the first thing that poppedinto my head was when they moved it
to seventeen games. And if youremember, we talked to Justin Simmons afterwards
and he was not happy about it. I don't know if you guys remember
that, but like you know,he was like, as a player,

(13:45):
like this is not you know,he kind of said, I understand it,
but I'm not this is not greatfor us and our health and everything.
And I think that the truth isit's inevitable. You follow the money,
right, It's the same thing likethere's too many teams the playoffs these
days, right, should there reallybe an NBA play in with the bottom
four teams? Probably not? Butit makes money, you know, I

(14:07):
mean how many you know? Andsame thing with baseball they expand in the
playoffs. It's all money. Andso I think that this has been inevitable,
and it sadly comes back to thatsame discussion of do they really care
about player safety because the money iscertainly the first thought here. And as
soon as they went to seventeen games, I thought was how long till eighteen?

(14:30):
Right? That's the best thing forthe player? Probably not, I
mean they're you know, you lookat the one good thing is that the
kind of the recovery and the trainingand the nutrition is better than ever.
Right, it's unparalleled, and theresources that these players have. But nonetheless,
you know, eighteen games is goingto take a huge physical toll on

(14:50):
their body. And I just itkind of seems like if the NFL wants
it, the NFLPA always case.And I don't know, I don't know
the business behind that, but Ican't imagine the NFLPA winning that one.
No, I can't either. Talkingwith romy Bean from CBS News Colorado,

(15:11):
romy we always appreciate the time.Oh, I love it when you guys
have me on. You're the best. We try Roby Bean at romy underscore
being on Twitter. Uh, we'llwe come back. We got an NFL
six pack. This is a RocosCountry Tonight. Can't wait, welcome back
to it, Broncos Country Tonight.Benjamin Olbrighten, Nick Ferguson, Grant Smith

(15:31):
here with you five six six ninesis text line on the text line,
we had a small earthquake in Layesterday where Maris Lebron flopped and immediately started
calling for a foul out of habit. I know this story is false because
Lebron is already in Cabo. Ohboy, that is hilarious. That was
a joke. On top of Joe, I've done yourself now here are done

(15:54):
yourself? Visn't been all bright. We got a text message before U before
the break, A certain, acertain, a certain NFL coach texted and
said, Broncos Country tonight. Let'sride now. I missed our boy,
dude, are you talking about coachBagana? I am I missed our boy.

(16:15):
Man, we need it back instudio, coach. I know you're
listening right now, man, Iknow. I mean we were rooting for
him to get aff want to fakemustache on him and give me an alias?
Well, I mean he had mineoff and give it to him.
Well, I don't know how that'sgonna work. That's a hell of a
mustache. Mustache transplanting. Is thata thing we can do? And we

(16:37):
can figure out the technology mustache transplant. Man, they killed the draft,
didn't they? Yes, Yeah, they did, they did. I loved
it. It's my three favorites wereWashington, Miami, and Arizona. See
how it shakes out for him.Right now, let's get the NFL sixpect.
It's time for the NFL six path. I'm gonna trink a lot of
beer. Insight, insight information youcan't find anywhere else. The top six

(17:02):
NFL headlines. What oh? TheNFL fifth year options have come out and
every quarterback except for Trevor Lawrence inthat draft did not Every first round quarterback
did not have their fifth year optionpicked up. That means justin Fields,
Mac Jones, Sack Wilson, Cabroncosdecline that one and Trey Lance all had

(17:26):
their fifth year options declined. Rememberwhen that was a generational quarterback class And
now look, I remember those wordsbeing used. But let's be totally honest.
Isn't that used every single year withmost of the draft classes? And
we're here, this guy is themost NFL ready of all the guys being

(17:48):
drafted, and somehow that guy's nolonger on his team. What this should
tell us is that whole myth thatwas pushed out there that yours franchise can
be saved by one guy. Itis just that a myth, and dare
I say alive? Based on theevidence that has been presented to us.
None of those four quarterbacks with theoriginal team that drafted him, none of
them got their fifth year option pickedup. Only Trevor Lawrence still exists with

(18:12):
the Jacksonville Jaguars and did get hisfor twenty five point seven two. Jaked
Grant, well if you remember himor not, exciting wide receiver kick return,
is going to participate in the PhiladelphiaEagles rookie Mini camp as he seeks
a comeback. Grant's going to attendthe mini camp as he attempts to come

(18:34):
back or good Buddy Aaron Wilson reports. Grant is thirty one years old,
has not played since Week seventeen orthe twenty twenty one season, tearing his
achilles in twenty twenty two, rupturinga Patel attendant in twenty twenty three.
Grant or Pro Bowl honors in twentyone. It was named second team All
Pro twenty twenty and twenty one.He has four part returns for touchdowns,
two kickoff returns for touchdowns at acareer twenty four and a half yard kickoff

(18:56):
return average. Also has one hundredreceptions for leven high guards having touchdowns in
his career, along with seventeen rushin his seventy six yards and a touchdown.
Grant played for the Dolphins and Bearssince Miami made him a sixth round
pick in twenty sixteen. It wason the Bears ir the last two seasons.
This goes into my question I guessabout special teams. I mean,
with the reefphisation of the kickoff, guys like Jaquim Grant be in line for

(19:18):
a comeback. Absolutely when the rulewas changed, Corderio Patterson was definitely plucked
by the Steelers for this particular purpose. Now he's been around Alex Smith.
I mean, excuse me, ArthurSmith in his days with the Land of
Falcons, So you know what hecould do as a receiver, a returner,
and a running back. So there'sa lot of versatility there. And

(19:40):
Jakim Grant was definitely one of thosekind of guys that was really explosive.
And I mean, injuries can definitelyderol a player. But I think the
thing that's really interesting is the factthat Jarvis Landry is planning to do the
same thing but with the Jag Soyou get an older veteran wide receiver and

(20:00):
camp trying to make a team withsome of the rookies, And the question
is is that a good look forthose guys, Mike, is a good
look for teams as they try toget their rookies in valuable resource with exposure
to a veteran, But yeah,it feels weird to have those guys in
kind of rookie mini camps, youknow, as far as that kind of
stuff goes. Arthur Smith, he'sthe offensive coordinator of the Pittsburgh Steelers,

(20:22):
who today made headlines as Jaylen Warrenon a podcast said that Steelers Special teams
coach Danny Smith has discussed Justin Fieldsreturning kicks. Steelers signed one of the
NFL's best return met quarter Ol Patterson, on the same day they adopted that
new kickoff rule. But it's andit's clear they expect Patterson to be the

(20:45):
primary guy, but kickoff return teamswill line up with two returners deep and
Justin Fields could be the other one. When asked on teammate Cam Howard's podcast
whether he'd like to return kickoffs,Jyleb Warren said he would. Then revealed
special teams coordinator Danny Smith wants togive Fees Fields a try at returning kick
saying quote, I would. Ithink it's pretty cool. So as you
touch the ball, that's where everythingstarts to happen. Our special teams coordinator

(21:07):
was starting about Justin Fields being backthere. We looked at him, like,
Justin Fields will be back there.I think it's cool. Larn said
Fields might be the fastest player onthe Steelers. He has twenty two hundred
and twenty rushing yards in a threeyear NFL career, Certainly capable to make
plays the ball in his hands,Fields wants to be a starting quarterback,
although that room is crowded with RussellWilson having gotten the job, Field's fifth
year option was not picked off,not picked up. Rather, and returning

(21:30):
kickoffs does nothing really Bolsterer's chance ofbeing a starting quarterback, but certainly some
kind of outside of the box thinkingon special teams plays that might make people
think, as we talked about alittle bit earlier, well, this is
one of the most exciting plays offootball, and every game starts with the
kickoffs, So you could find away to be creative and innovative and incorporate

(21:52):
more of the skilled players. Itchanges exactly how teams offend you, because
could you imagine with two returners, justin Fields being one of those guys and
you're throwing the ball and you're doingsome kind of something crafty with it,
like running an option off of akickoff type of play. But I think
there's something even more brewing with thePittsburgh still is because I go back to

(22:17):
what Sean Payton had with Taysom Hill, and the reason that happened was guess
what Mike westalf and the jeans thathe was and said, well listen,
he takes him here as our backupquarterback. Let's throw him in and see
to get the best out of hisability. So this could be something that
the Stillers and Danny Smith could exploit. Even Arthur Smith could manipulate at the
same time. But we talk abouttwenty one pony having two running backs,

(22:41):
imagine having Justin Fields and Russell Wilsonon the field the same damn time.
I'm interested to see that as well. For Pookua's brother, Kai Nakua is
submerging as the UFL Defensive Player ofthe Year candidate. Rams Waderson were Pooking
the cool was Rookie the Year candidatelast season. He's not the only member
of the families getting some awards recognition, so older brother Kay's but named mid

(23:03):
season defensive Player of the Year candidatein the UFL. It's a safety for
the Michigan Panthers who is leading theUFL at interceptions this season. He has
played in the NFL before originally makingthe Browns as an undrafted rookie in twenty
seventeen, briefly played for the Ninersin Jets and at age twenty nine,
maybe doing enough to get to someNFL team to invite him to training camp.
There's a third brother, Samson Nikola, who is a wide receiver like

(23:26):
Pua, not like Pook. Excuseme as a teammate of Kaies on the
Michigan Panthers. Have you been watchingany of the spring football UFL? Yeah,
I have been, believe it ornot. It is exciting football because
these guys are trying to put theirskills set on display for NFL teams who

(23:48):
are going to go through OTA's inmini caamp, the rookie mini camps,
who might look to the USFL asthe way of adding players. So we've
seen other players who were in theXFL the USFL joining NFL teams and some
of them have made roster so whynot? And for me, look,
man, I love football, andI know some fans get a little biased

(24:11):
because they just love NFL football,But if you love football, it's good
to watch some of these guys whoare trying to find their way back into
the league. Bye well, speakingof alternative football leagues, the reboot of
the Arena Football League has been anunmitigated disaster thus far. Philadelphia Soul,
as we talked about a couple ofdays ago, fielded a replacement team after

(24:34):
locking all their players out of theirhotel room. Keeping their luggage from them
and basically their head coach quit theday before the game. They hired a
team from another league called the DallasFalcons to play in their stead. Now
the Iowa Rampage had discontinued operations. The Thursday press release, team owners blasted
the Arena Football League and commissioner LeeHutton for broken promises. Issues cited included

(24:56):
delay delivery of footballs which each teampaid ten thousand jerseys and camp gear.
NFL network is backing out of televisedgames. Hutton's failure to conduct weekly calls
to address open issues was listed aswell. Quote Lee Hutton and his team
have destroyed not only the revival ofthe Arena Football League, they have destroyed
the hopes of players all of theUnited States. That's Rampage owners Trevor Burnett

(25:18):
and Mike tellia Farrell in a pressrelease. As owners, we do not
take this decision lightly and we wishthis wouldn't have come, but with the
promised support of the league, wehave no other option than to discontinue operations
immediately. You aread A Football Leaguehas already removed the Rampage from the online
roster of teams and the league issitting at fifteen franchises for now, what
do we think about the disaster thathas been the revival of the Arena League.

(25:42):
Man, it's tough because once againyou have a lot of guys trying
to live out their football dreams andkeep books going. And to know that
in the last ditch effort to getthis done yet probably part of an organization
that is so dysfunctional that you willnot be able to continue that dream.

(26:06):
And it's very difficult to see thishappen to a lot of guys. And
when you have teams dropping out ofknees and everything that you said that players
and coaches are going through, itmakes it tough. Man, It makes
it tough on these guys. Andsometimes people don't understand when you try to
live out your dream and someone pullsout the chair from underneath you, how

(26:27):
disappointed it is. Yeah, Iwas around, in the interest of full
disclosure, was on the payroll forthe Alliance of American Football and watched his
broken promises were made there and rightup until it folded that, you know,
we were being told that now everything'sfine, it's all fine, it's
all good, it's all good, and it wasn't good. And you know,
it sucks when you have people thatare bad at management and don't create

(26:55):
a system with full transparency, thatare honest, that don't you know,
they don't run things the right wayand create these kind of situations because it
undermines the faith in these kinds ofthings. I mean, you know,
if you're a player, you're tryingto resurrect your career, you're trying to
do anything possible. You make achoice, and you know, and then
it puts your faith in somebody else. What if you're the coaches, you

(27:15):
know, you took a job,you move somewhere. You know, it's
always that element too, because mostpeop don't really think about that. The
most new impact and how it affectswant one's family. But yeah, coaches
moving and then you think that youhave a job that you find out the
team is pulled out of the leagueand now you have to go try to
find another job when all the otherjobs are taken. It's tough all the

(27:37):
wrong. Yeah, it really is. And shame on on the failures of
leadership there with the new Arena league. Hopefully they get that stuff resolved.
Sick no criminal charges against Dax Prescottover the twenty seventeen sexual assault allegation.
WFAA dot com reporting the prosecutors willnot pursue the matter and the Dallas Police
found no evidence to support the allegedvictims claims. Corroborates probably the better term,

(28:03):
since the alleged victims version obviously collshis evidence, But the question is
whether prosecutors believe they can prove guiltyon a reasonable doubt. The only evidence
is her claim in Dax denial, with nothing more, it becomes pretty difficult
to meet the high standard for acriminal conviction. Decision not to pursue criminal
charges has no impact on civil claimsthat are pending between the parties. Prescott's
actually sued first, alleging the victimand or lawyers of extortion, among other

(28:25):
things. After the victims lawyers senta demand letter seeking payment of one hundred
million dollars, Prescott also made acriminal complaint of extortion as possibility. League
conducts its own investigation. In twentyseventeen, the Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott
was suspended by the league for dovesticviolence, even though he was never arrested
or sued. When we think aboutthe charges being dropped, not the civil

(28:48):
case, but the charges any chargebeing no criminal charges will be filed.
I guess just is not dropped willbe filed in this allegation. Why if
you or Dek Prescott in the Dallascop Boys, you're happy about this,
but there's still is a possibility ofsomething civil that can go on. And
this is one of those things.Man, when you are in the spotlight
as a celebrity, a musician, movie star, athlete, you have to

(29:12):
be careful because you never know whatcould possibly happen. Not saying that I
know the details and whether these detailsare factual or if there's some truth behind
it, but you need to befind ways to protect yourself because I've been
in situations where someone may say thatyou did something that you did not do
and being I guess convicted in thecourt of popul opinion. It's always difficult.

(29:37):
So the first leg of this isdone. Now you move on to
the second leg. And if you'reDak Prescott, you want to get rid
of this situation so you can focuson your main goals and that's kind of
getting the Cowboys to a playoffs andhopefully Super Bowl. Yeah, and for
Dak. You know, you've gota new contract hanging in the balance as
well. Here there's a balloon paymentdue I believe next year sixty million dollars.

(30:00):
There's probably no way the Dallas Cowboyspay as he is. And if
that team doesn't, you know,go deep in the playoffs, I suspect
Jerry Jones to blow that thing upafter this year. I mean they've they've
kind of they've kind of stayed thecourse with that for quite a while,
given Mike McCarthy all the chances ofthe world. Dan Quinn of course moved
on actually head coach at Washington. But you know that's that situation in Dallas

(30:22):
looks like it's tenuus. Well, once again, when we look at the
situation outside looking in, is itall McCarthy? Is it all on Dak?
To me, the person who youjust mentioned who's going to be making
those decisions and pulling on that string, I think he has to take himself
out of the mix sometimes, andthat's Jerry Jones. Sometimes you can be

(30:44):
so close to a situation that youcan't make a logical decision. And I
think that's where Jerry is right now, because he's thinking more from an emotional
standpoint opposed to a rational standpoint. When you look at that team offensively,
you move away from his than Elliottfor Tony Pollard. Now paulad is out
of the mix, now he's withItalians. And then now Zeke is coming

(31:06):
back right, coming back to theCowboys after spending a year, Yes,
spending a year with the Patriots. So it's this team's success. Yes,
is it part of what happens onthe field, But what Jerry does off
the field impacts them too as well. Why would not be surprised if they
blow that thing up to see BillBelichick as the next head coach of the
Dallas Cowboys and that does what forthem? Bring you? Oh, you

(31:27):
bring in a Hall of Fame coachand then all of a sudden it changes
everything. Is that the idea?It would blow the whole thing up,
and you know, and go fromthere. I'm not I mean in fairness,
I mean Bill Belichick kind of followedhis mentor Bill Parcels around, as
you well know, quite a bit. Parcells famously was there in Dallas for
a minute. I wouldn't be surprised, Okay, Yes, is Bill Belichick

(31:51):
a disciple of Bill Parcells. Yes, does he want to follow behind Bill
Parcells. No, he doesn't wantto do that. No, because he
wants to kind of stabilize any teamon his own. Marit not to say,
Okay, well we're measuring you bywhat Bill Parcells did. He surpassed
that at this point. Yeah,But there's a certain level of arrogance that
comes along with Bill Belichick. That'sone of the reasons he's not a head

(32:15):
coach in the NFL. More importantlywith Atlanta falcon Man, if he got
a Super Bowl ring in Dallas, that would shut everybody up. I think
that would I think that would balancethe scales, because I mean, we
all know Belichick famously thinks he's thearchitect of the Patriots dynasty, and we
all saw what happened. Tom Bradyleft and got another Super Bowl, the
Patriots fell apart. So I thinkif you're Bill Belichick and you're chasing that

(32:36):
legacy, you want the old timewins record. I ain't getting to get
a Super Bowl's icing on the cakecould be huge. But first of all,
if Jerry Jones couldn't get along withBill Parceros, you think that's gonna
work with Bill Belichick's I get outof here. I'm here for the Circus
Bruckles Country tonight.
