(00:00):
And wait for it, Steve upmore. Hey, what to do?
He back baby triumphant return. Man, It is good to have you back.
Good to see you. You knowyou've been off for a little bit,
man. You know, oh man, I've been on a journey.
A lot has happened since you lastsat in that seat. Yeah yeah,

(00:20):
I mean I'm going to visit mydaughter and supposed to be in Connecticut before
the ays why out there? Windup being out there for a month.
That's where you were. Yeah,oh yeah, I just really love Connecticut.
They excreamed Steve atwater. It's thestate of I was like, wait
a minute, Steve is not answeringmy text messages. I mean he goes

(00:44):
okay. So if anybody's traveling andyour back is inch it just a little
bit, I have to get itchecked out before you go. Well,
it's funny that you say that, because these guys will attest to it,
Like throughout the show they see meget up, sit down, get up,
sit down, because I started havingmiss you. Boy. Yeah,
there's a there's a we're entirely tooyoung. You do the amount of stretching

(01:08):
during this show. That's all I'msaying, Like, where you like I'm
out here leading them get the youknow, how do you man? Okay?
And one time it was like aforty dress said, well, what
what are you doing? Stress it? And I couldn't even tach my toes.
I couldn't even do it. Yeah, you get your tongue. I

(01:30):
couldn't because you were hurt. Nowyou can't. You can't normally normally I
could. Yeah now uh huh.Yeah. He was trying to dance that
ludicrous song he got to that party. Could not get that. Yeah.
No, I'm forty, I'm fortythree, and it's uh yeah, it's
it's taking its toll I got,I got knee problems back promis, Yeah
started for me. He did playedthe game. I played a different game.

(01:53):
Yes, that's right. Your gameis a little game. I played
Army. Yes, I got inthe US Army first round of the first
round. Recently he played in agame. No, no, no,
no, I mean the flag football. That's you know, that is what
it is. Man. It's goodto see your face though. I I'm
excited to see you back here. What do you think about the uh the

(02:15):
Denver Broncos as off see what doyou think about the draft going to get
bow Nicks there at you know,at twelve you got uh, you got
Luther Ellis's kid there two. Uh, they added a ball hawk corner out
of Missouri who's wearing Justin Simmonds's number. I don't forget now, Troy Franklin,
Oh man, it is nice,Yes, it's nice. Yeah.

(02:35):
Yeah. What was the name,Jonah Jonah Ellis, Jonah Ellis. Yeah,
yeah, they got the whole family, that whole families in the UFL
Yes, yeah, they got someuh some nice jeans, pretty sure is
His mom plays safety for the Giants, So it's uh, but they it's
it's no. I'm just saying likethat, the whole family. They're like
the Miccaffrey's of defense. Yeah yeah, but you know what I mean,
having two defensive guys here on theshow. We know this that we don't

(02:58):
really get uh as much love aswe anticipate or that we should, because
it's all about the offense. Man. That's always been like that. Offensive
players get along with everything, getaway with everything. I know why players
received is that based on the factthat the quarterback being perceived as being the

(03:23):
smartest person on the field, thatthat so much power has flown to offensive
players. I definitely think that.I definitely think that. Well, and
if your offensive quarterback isn't the smartestperson you might have so uh, that's
the way it's been generally. Justyou know, offensive players they get the

(03:46):
benefit of the doubt they do.And you saw the list I set out
today the NFL p a yeah manrookie Symposium. They invited two defensive players.
You got forty players invited, nobodyon the line, nobody in the
offensive line, and two total defensiveplayers Dallas Turner and to only defensive players
invited. See that tells you, like when they care about defense. So

(04:08):
Nick, you're all here. See, the league continues to throw it in
our faces how much they value offenseso much so even the kickoff rule was
changed. And every year the competitioncommittee gets together and they change rules to
benefit defense, I mean offense.Excuse me, because the league has said
over the past couple of years scoringhas gone down. They want more more

(04:33):
scoring. Yeah ways, But Ithink as a fan, I mean,
I know when I'm watching the game, if it's no scoring, I'm like,
come on, man, somebody gotgo. Man. I love those
default games. I'm like, yes, sew me up for it. When
what was it with l s Uand and Alabama? Was that free tier?
Was that Auburn L s U?Whatever? It was a free two

(04:53):
final? Oh man, Yeah,I mean those you have some explosive players.
That good defense. I don't wantto see bad offense. There's a
difference, right, I want tosee good defense. I don't want to
see Iowa's offense every every play.Oh, A couple of years ago in
college football, I think it wasAlabama and LSU. I think they went

(05:15):
to or not that one. Therewas like several overtime times they went.
I think it was like a recordfour or five or six or whatever over
times. The recay to me,I enjoyed that because you had just the
right amount of office to get youto that point. Well when you started
getting to that bad half where youhad to score a touchdown and for the

(05:39):
two point conversion, I was like, yes, yeah, that's awesome.
My favorite was it was It wastwenty eleven, by the way, when
number one LSU beat number two Alabamanine to six in overtime in overtime,
nine to six field goals, allfield goals, all field goals. See
see Steve, I love that becauseI love to see good tackling, because

(06:00):
that's the one thing that's the mostdifficult thing to do, is to tackle
in space. So when you getguys running to the ball, creating turnovers
and forcing it to be somewhat ofa field goal game, I like that.
I don't want to see both teamsscore on like a forty five points.
I don't want to see that.That means there's been a lot of
exposed to plays bad tackling, right, I mean I didn't obviously when I

(06:24):
played, I didn't like it,but as a as a as a fan,
yeah, man, I want tosee. I want to see some
points put up. I want tosee. I mean, I love it
when receivers make good plays and justsay the defensive player was there, but
ay, the offensive player either wentup most them or you know, somehow
I was able to make that catch. But obviously respect great defensive play.

(06:46):
Being a defensive player, I guessI'm defensively biased. Well, it wasn't
like that game featured bad quarterback playyet AJ McCarron against Jordan Jefferson. Odell
Beckham was one of the receivers forLSU. Yet Trent Richardson Eddi Lacy at
running back for Alabama. I meanit wasn't like that he didn't have plenty
offensive firepower. But a nine tosix college football game that never happened,
unheard of. But once again,it is fun to watch even though there

(07:08):
are not a lot of explosive playsbecause every play matters play. Yeah,
it wasn't like this is just notlike when was it? Was it Baylor
in Washington? I think it wascompletely They just couldn't nobody could stop anybody.
It ended up being like a seventyto sixty something game or something like
that. I have to go backand look. I think it was Baylor
Washington. That's like those big twelve. Well yeah, but or remember Kansas

(07:28):
City and the Rams squared off.It was like basketball grinds, like that
was a Monday night gave. Yeahit was, and everyone was saying,
well, this is exactly what theNFL is going to turn into basketball on
grass. But lo and behole,No, it didn't. I mean defense
catch up the offense. Offense inthe Super Bowl. I mean after the
first quarter it was zero zero?Yeah, what nine is in the chiefs?
Who thought that? But the SuperBowl? I just I'll let chill

(07:50):
in on a little wagering tip rightnow. Super Bowl first half unders always
cash always well, I mean thatwould I mean the first half under of
the second half over to help ifyou would have told us that before.
I tell everybody that's every year.Tell me every year. He said he
put it on social media? Didhe tell you? I didn't get this

(08:11):
advice? Apparently it's only for hisTwitter followers. You don't even have to
get You got to subscribe to hisYou got a subscription service. I don't
know there for free. I'll giveit back to you. No, you
didn't give me anything like you tellBred and I after the fact. We
talk about the sixteen game parlay. You tell us after the fact how much

(08:31):
you made, but you don't tellus before. I don't get that in
front. You're party going right nowif you want to, I mean,
do you guys want me to tellyou wanted to beforehand? Tell him mss
ase, but you might as mjinxit or something. I'm just saying,
Well, I did try to giveyou some advice on the playoffs the other
night, and you did not hit. I think I'll leave it up to
you to place the bet you're talkingabout the bet you're talking about the ones

(08:54):
that you picked, Yeah, picka parlay, the Sixers, next series,
all things you picked some cash christYeah, I gotta, I gotta
partly go tonight. We'll see what. We'll see what happens to make a
couple other bucks, you know, pay for some some dinners. But but
you didn't. You didn't let Ididn't know you want you don't gamble.
I want to get you hooked ongambling, like, no gamble. No,

(09:18):
it's just fact that just just beingprovided the information, just put it
in the group chat from now onahead of time, you guys could know
what my tickets are. That's allthe masking, all right. So you're
gonna follow him? Huh? Areyou gonna follow him? I mean well
like on social media? No,No, I'm talking about like if he
places a bet, are you gonnalook at him like, oh, I'm
gonna place this bed right quick too. I'm not saying I'm doing that,

(09:39):
but it's just it's great to know. If I need to have been provided
in information, did you get that? You're gonna have them text you?
Yes? You can say, man, you you know you messed up on
that one. I'm not even knowwhat I'm gonna put in the group chat
apart. Oh yeah, they's gonnasay up on Twitter the winners basical fires

(10:03):
losers up on Twitter right away.Well, I looks like the type of
guy that would do that. Thatsmile that you have big comes back,
and then all of a sudden, all the trust that we have is going
out of the window. Trust theverify yourself. It's just like you trust
me to be myself. I'm justsaying they're not gonna do that. I

(10:24):
mean, look, did you watchthe roast of Tom Brady. I saw
some of it. Could you everget up there and get roasted? I
put in, But I mean youdon't have people about them. See,
that's what they would you like tobe. He wants someone I love to
be the focal point of attention sohe can go fine stuff. That's what

(10:48):
he wants to do. I loveI love that catch stuff, and I
love it when people roast me too. So it's not like a one way
it's not like a one way saidabout the media. But as I'm saying,
so we're puting together, this mediaros and this stick is actually like
starting to get some traction here whenpeople around town being willing to do it.
Media roast. Yeah, a bunchof media members, you know,
getting up on the stage and getroasted, and we'll you know, sell
tickets to dinner for charity, youknow, all that kind of stuff,

(11:09):
and they get you know, keptthere. I feel like, I feel
like there's plenty of people who arewilling to take a crack at me and
waiting to take a crack at me. I think there's more than Yeah,
yeah, there's a plus we do. This suggestion was first and now I
saw on Twitter, I'm like threenames in mind, was like over and
over again. Everyone's like, allright, all bright, Yeah, Yes,
it's like the think the people getin line for the the dunk tank.

(11:30):
You know, there's all the peopleyou blocked. Take eight thousand people,
block forty eight thousand people on Twitter, forty thousandsould you used to do
that for charity, to allow thosepeople who troll you, who you had
to block, to give them likesixty seconds to come up and say certain

(11:50):
things, all for charity, charity, And maybe that's what we do because
I'm gonna unblock everybody, like theend of this year, I'm gonna doing
amisty and unblock everybody give another chance, so you don't open the floodgates.
I'm opening the floodgates the end ofthe year now, the people. Here's
the reasoning, the real reasing behindTwitter is paying me now for per impression.

(12:11):
Right so I'm blocking the most engagedsegment of my audience even being able
to give me impressions right now.Haters are just a more engaged segment of
your audience. Oh yeah. Sobasically being say hey, hey, the
doors of the church are now open, please come in. I never see
it. He's training mental health forimpressions. Yeah, which, and then

(12:35):
I take her and then I takethe money at the end of every month
and donate to like a charity thatthat is the opposite of whatever he supports.
Well, there is a charity,uh granted, And I have going
money for people mustache and needs somegroomy. Go get your barber because I
got a great air cut, soremind me barbership guy. Oh man,

(12:56):
I'm not going back to that barberever. The people didn't know we're gonna
say hi to be your high wereterrible when you were talking about putting that
roast idea out there. That wasone of the first mixture there, Man,
haircut, I would be super careful, like not to get any dirt
on my upper lip, just likea great in that center. Yeah,

(13:18):
to make sure that the hairs werewere shaved. That haircut, that was
that was interesting. Bad. Wehave this guy who listen is to show
his names when is Jish. Shelistens to the show and he yes,
he said, He's like, man, that haircut made you look like you
do worse things to uh, theworse things than block me, you know
whatever. And I was like,oh, when this is supposed to be
the rost of me, not theroast of you right there, That's what

(13:43):
I'm saying. I'm just prepared.I'm prepared for these roasts. Wherever they
go, I'll go ten percent further. It's a rule several man. It
is good to see your smile andface again. Yeah, we talked a
little bit. We got Rookie MiniCamp coming up. Was it the same
when you guys when you guys camethe the rookie Mini camp, they just
kind of but you drink through aFireles put the playbook in front of you
and give you everything. Because that'sin talking to Sean Payton, his philosophy

(14:05):
is I try to give him everythingto see how much they can retain.
Was it the same way when youguys came in a week? I think
it was more palatable, especially fordefensive players. Our playbooks aren't nearly the
size of the offensive players playbook. They have to go through so many different
adjustments and you know, you gotthey gotta know what the what the defense

(14:26):
is doing. We our defensive playbookwas probably half the size of offensive playbook.
Would you say your name? Yeah, they were uh, and they
just kind of intensify once you cameback because the idea was they wanted to
give you someone of a skeleton ofa defense. But the thing that made
it difficult, you know, forme when I came in, was that

(14:46):
the amount of checks. Like incollege football, playing in a certain conference,
you may not see so many shiftsand beeves, but when you get
to the progs, there's a bigshift and reload reload that. And I
played systems where there were like differentchecks for every move, So they were
like three different different defensive calls dependingon what's guy moved. Yeah, whether

(15:09):
it's the tight end or the receivers. Joe Collier passed away were you was?
Was he his last year was rightbefore you got there? Uh?
It was one year over lapper. Now, you know what, I'm not
sure if he was the previous defensecornator before WAYE. Phillips. He was.
He was because he was fired afterthe eighty eight season. Okay,
yeah, yep. I came ineighty nine, so okay, all right.

(15:30):
I just I didn't know if itwas a year overlap there, and
I couldn't remember if you were eightyseven Rady eight tracks. Yeah, yeah,
And man, the guys, theyloved Joe Collier. All the players
loved Joe Collie. He Bill Belichickeven gave a quote because he was for
one season he was an assistant.Yeah, under Joe Collier. That's what
sort of got him, got himstarted. Yeah, a lot of that.
So, yeah, Joe Collier andthe rest in Peace passed away.

(15:52):
But you were you're wait, Wadewas the DC when you came in.
Yeah, it was Wade's first year. Charlie Waters was my defensive backs coach,
and man, we hit it offright from the start, you know,
Charlie, Me and Charlie got alonggreat and everything. He said,
I was like a sponge. Iwas like, I want to whatever you
got. I'm listening, I'm writing, I'm taking notes. But that's the

(16:12):
way that players should be when theycome into the league. And I've been
around players now they don't look atit that way. They some come in
depending on how I guess, howhow did they are coming into the league
and where they're drafted. Some wantto listen and some don't. Well,

(16:33):
I think also it I mean, who's giving the message, right? I
mean, if it hadn't been CharlieWaters, I could have been Charlie Johnson
or Charlie Jackson. I don't know. I mean, I don't know if
that I would have gotten the sameresponse. Because if a coach doesn't know
the basics, and most of coachsknow the basics obviously, but if a

(16:55):
coach isn't really going to coach youand develop you into a better player,
what is the coach really there for? You know, besides you just spit
out the defensive calls and you know, try to go over the plays with
you. I want a coach who'sdone it. And uh, you know
a lot of coaches, great coaches, Mike Shanna has one of them.
Didn't play in the NFL. Butbrilliant football mind turning them out there.

(17:19):
But not all of them are likethat. How is it? What?
Okay, let me rephrase that. When you see when you come in as
a rookie in the situation like that, and obviously there are veterans in the
room, and typically the coach orposition coach, he gravitates more towards the
veteran guys opposed to the rookie guysin terms of what in terms of you
know, potentially starting or starting responsibility, uh, as far as looking them

(17:45):
looking to them to be the leaders. And you may come in and you
may feel as though, hey, look, I look across the road and
I said, well, my talentis equal to anyone in the room.
The only thing is that I don'thave the same level of experience. But
if you see a coach graduate towardsthose veteran guys and kind of pushing the
young guys to to the corner,I mean, have you ever experienced anything

(18:06):
like that? No, not really. But I also, again, I
had some really good coaches. Mycoach in college, he was he was
a really good coach. Didn't playcollege, didn't play college football, didn't
play the NFL, but he taughtme a lot and then coming here again.
I knew who Charlie Waters was beforeI got here, you know,

(18:27):
I saw him play. So I'mlike, man, I got I got,
I got the world right here, you know, one of the great
great players to play this game. And uh, he's here teaching me.
So I didn't question anything. Ijust I just whatever he said, Okay,
gotcha, okay, coach, yep, all right, and nine times

(18:49):
out of ten it will put mein the right position to make a play,
you know. And but some peopleweren't like that. Some people,
you know, they questioned everything.I don't think it's anything wrong with questions
and curious, no, no,no, I agree. But if a
person has been there and done itand they have a way of communicating that

(19:12):
resonates with you. Why wouldn't youWhy wouldn't you try it? You know?
And that's a big thing with DanCampbell. That's why he hires so
many former players, because there's aninstant credibility with somebody who's been there and
done it, and then hope thatthey can communicate in a way that's effective
for the players. Oh man, hey, I've been in situation where I've
seen in the rooms where Hey,the coach, he doesn't he don't have

(19:33):
the players in the room because he'snot coaching him. He's not making them
better. You know, he justwants to explain what they have to do
in these certain defenses. But he'snot growing them as a player. He's
not making them think and you know, giving them different things to do off

(19:55):
the field to improve themselves. Fivesix, six, nine zeros of text
line. But we're giving away afour pack the Rockies against Texas Rangers on
May eleventh. Uh you with fourpack of tickets to Rockies Rangers. That
is a six ten first pitch onSaturday course field be collor four right now
to three or three seven one threeeighty five eighty five. That's three or
three seven one three eighty five eightyfive color four now four packat Tikey's Rockies

(20:18):
Rangers on Saturday night. Did yousay they're gonna throw out the ball so
the first pitch will be okay?Okay? Not like when Ryan too at
the first pitch? What Ryan isdriving home right now? White knuckled right,

(20:40):
they're going to talk about it.He threw like did that first football?
Well, he threw the pitch respectively. It wasn't like the football video
that we have for door. Steve'sface after after Ryan throws the football,
Stee just stands out with the ball, just staring together the eyes like what
what was that? Nobody starts tothrow a football ever? Come on,
man, I need not required twohands. It's like a chest pass in
basketball. Where where is that videothat's out there? We find it?

(21:04):
It's that video. Yeah, I'llhave to Yeah, Ryan, he's not
gonna like that. I was eventhe one of the film that I wasn't
even This is before I was eveninvolved. This is back in the whole
show with you at Mason, ohMan, that was ugly past I seeing

(21:26):
that gift on on the internet,I was like no, I was like
that. I never catched me slippinglike that. Oh Man, just saying
by six six times text and whatwas your favorite? What? What?
What is your favorite thing the Broncoshave done this off season? Is it
a draft pick? The trade forJohn Franklin Myers, which I think is
underwady to move the off season. He's a He's an animal, he is

(21:47):
he is uh. I think they'vemade several good movies. I like to
pick up bo Knicks. I like, uh them bringing in Zach Wilson.
I think that's gonna be some greatcompetition at that quarterback position. And you
know, looking at bow Nick's tape, looking seeing that he doesn't take that
many sacks and he gets that ballout of there quickly, did not have

(22:07):
a fumble his entire career at organscrap one. Yeah. Yeah, the
quarterback to not fumble the ball onetime in two years. He could throw
the deep ball, he could throwit, intermediate ball, he could throw
the short ball. He can doit all, and he can run.
After last season with Russell and takinghowever you want to, whether you want

(22:27):
to lay the blame on all onRussell the offensive line, I think when
coach Payton looked at bow Knicks andwhat you guys are describing it is just
the same thing that I saw.Now. I'm not saying it's going to
eventually look like that at the end, but I saw a little of Drew
Brees and the ability to get theball out of your hands quickly is something

(22:49):
that Sean Payton wanted to establish lastyear for whatever reason felt that is though
he couldn't do that. But here'swhat it also does for a quarterback.
Being able to get the ball outof his hands, you make that offensive
line look a lot better. NoMan asked Peyton Manning about that. I
mean, Peyton Manny had some terribleoffensive tackles for a while. Tony,
you go, and what was theother the I can't remember his name he

(23:11):
had. They were terrible, theywere awful, and he got but he
got the ball out so fast itmade them made it. Tom Brady did
it with a lot of his offensiveline, like like Nate Solder who went
to CEU. I mean, hewas known for being a great rum blocker
because he can grive, he cangrab guys and steer them off the ball.
But when it came to those thirdand long, when you know it

(23:33):
was a passing down, those wereareas he suffered. So being able to
get the ball out your hands quicklyactually helped Soldier out a lot. And
happing a guy like bow Nicks woulddefinitely help this Broncos offense day and rhythm,
but also helped the offensive line willtoo. Mclich didn't look good last
year. Garrett Bowles had the hadthe most holes of any offensive tackle that
most flag excuse me, of anyoffensive tackle that did not make the playoffs

(23:55):
last year, you know, witheight penalties last year. That's that's one
every other game. That's that's notyou get the ball out quick. You're
not gonna you're not gonna have time. We'll get the ball out quickly.
And sometimes you gotta step up inthe pocket. You can't run out of
the back side because when you getwhen you run out the back doored office
line and can't help you. Right, wait, man, where are you
going? Yeah, now we doI can't do anything. But that's one

(24:17):
of those things when you are playing. I guess it's the gift and the
curse of having an athletic quarterback, because the athletic quarterback he's going to bail
you out of the situation because ofhis mobility. And then sometimes he may
put you in bad situations because onthe first two seconds you may have your
guy blocked and because he's getting pressuredsomewhere else, he's now flushed right,

(24:38):
and then now you're blocking, whichis great, it's perfect. Now is
the holding because the defender can seehim. Now he moved and now you
get the jersey pool, right, and that's yeah, you gets stuff like
that that was the thing about Russ. I mean, like, go me
Rock, I like Russ. Ilike Russell Wilson. I know he gets
you know, he gets a lotof hate and whatever else. Yeah.

(24:59):
Yeah, And I think he's areally good football player. I think that's
the thing. I think he's veryvery good at a very narrow set of
parameters and he's really good at those, at the things inside those, And
so if you run that, youcan be successful. We have a head
coach who runs something wildly different andit did work. So we all turn
the page and we're moving on.Now we got bone Nicks. I'm tired
of Russell Wilson hate right here.Good question though, Yeah, is it

(25:25):
certified, verified? And it isit a sacrifice? Sure thing? That?
Well, Nick's going to be thecow or what do you think about
Zach Wilson. Does he have achance. I think we'll have a chance.
I think that if if it wouldbe disappointing if you drafted someone at
twelve and they didn't take the jobover Jarrett Steadham and Zach Wilson. That
said, I mean, I'd loveto see Zach Wilson. We all love
to see a record. Well, let's see a fallen hero get back up,

(25:48):
right. We all love to seea comeback story, right, We'll
love to see a comeback story.Right. You know, well, there's
two things we love. We'll seea hero fall We love to those the
two favorite storyline said you know inmovie and the number two pick in the
draft. Yeah, three years butthree years ago. Yeah. And then
the reason And here's something that I'vesaid about Zach Wilson, because the plan

(26:10):
to develop him, you had awhole bunch of people on that staff that
had never ever been a coordinator, never developed the quarterback. You have one
guy on the staff that had donethat, and then he got killed in
that tragic accident. That was GregNapp. Greg Napp was supposed to develop
Zach Wilson and then he passed awayto that bicycle accident. Yeah. So
you know, yeah, you hadyou had a quarterback. Probably shouldn't have
been out there year one with nobodywho had developed a quarterback, nobody who

(26:30):
coordinated an offense, nothing, Andso maybe getting an experienced hand like Sean
Payton who has done it before andthose those kinds of things, maybe that
helse man. Maybe it turns thebrown. Yeah, And I just think
the competition is going to be great. Those guys I think are going to
become great friends throughout this you know, the off season and training camp and
uh, I think we could havetwo three, even even just Sidham,

(26:52):
he would be in the mix.You know. The spark Yeah, the
all spark. Yeah. Okay, transformers competition, transports games. It's one
of those quarterbacks can transform this organizationback to what it once was. Went
on about, not the sept Countyexactly exactly. Yeah, but I like
the competition. I like I likethe guys that we got in that room.

(27:14):
Yeah, I mean it's a serviceableroomind I don't think anybody's inspired by
those names, but there's potential there, you know what I mean. Like
nobody's going in there saying, hey, the Broncos are super favorites because they
got Zach Wilson st I mean,if you look at that room and you're
not saying you're not, you're not. You know, it's just Sam Darnold.
You know, it's not it's notsomebody you know it's it's not.
It's not Sean Mannion and Mike Glennonand you know, and stuff like that.

(27:34):
Like you you can win games, with these guys, and so I
think that if Zach Wilson or BoNicks gets it pretty quick, I think
the Broncos are surprise football team thisyear. Even if bo Niggs is not
the Day one starter, I don'tthink it's a detriment to his inabilities as
a quarterback because most quarterbacks and mostplayers coming into the league are not designated

(27:57):
starters right away. Now, someteams may try to force them to be
starters when they're not ready based ontheir draft status. But I'm a firm
believer in giving a guy time tokind of melt into that that position,
especially playing quarterback. Yeah, andZach willn't. He's been in the league
for a few years, so he'sgot an idea of how everything goes.

(28:18):
But guess what, he's got tolearn the whole new office as well.
So it's just like they're on thesame page. So Abandage goes to Stidham
in this case because he's got ayear in the off in offense. So
he said to be the one tohave the most concerns because you know the
offense, if they beat you out, what does that say about you or
them? Being wonder Because one ofthe two exactly five six six dads zeros.

(28:41):
A text line loving all you guysis texts for Steve. Will read
those when we come back. Alot of texts coming in here for you,
Steve. They're loving you, man, welcome back, we've missed you.
Man to boy, yep, Iwas hurting. A roaster of Steve
would immediately turn into a compliment sessionof Steve. He is the smiling assassin.
The somebody says there's no way Ican give the haters sixty seconds.

(29:02):
The roast would still take months. There's too many of them. Glad Hall
of Famous back brouh. Hate theBroncos, but respect mister Attwater from a
Chiefs fan, Theron cheese fan wholistens to the show, and he said
he hates the Broncos, but hedoes respect for Steve because he's a Chiefs
fan. All right, all right, come on, man, just saying
Broncos Country tonight is a geographic footprint, it's not. It's not necessarily the
content. We we love all fanbases here. You know? Is he

(29:26):
doing some intel except for the Raiderssleep The Raiders said to us boat next
is over five ten. Yeah,he's six to and change six tow and
change. This is I guess that'sa Drew Brees reference. All the breeze
was like right at six feet.Give listen. I told you there was
something that I noticed right away aboutbow Nigs and Drew Brees when they start

(29:48):
to throw, like those corner routesand those deep passes. How both of
those guys have a tendency to kindof stand up on their toes as they
start to elongate their and use thebody to throw the same body. See
I used to do that, butthat's because I'm so sure. Oh my

(30:10):
goodness. Yeah, we got astep stool, A step stool, I
can use that be Uh. Canyou guys hunch down on the offensive line?
No? Oh no, five six, six, nine zerols and sex
line? I'm uh, We've gotrookie mini campus weekend. You gonna be
out there at all? Or uh? I'm still debating. I got I

(30:30):
gotta see what what's uh? Wegot something else going on and going well,
So yeah, I gotta think Igotta do Saturday. So I'm gonna
miss like the first portion of it, but I'll be out there for for
the locker room session after that.Chickadino want all that already. Of course,
I definitely will be there because Iwant that first hand look. I
know many I want to see there'sthe thing, the whole, but I

(30:52):
don't know what interesting. But Iwill say this, don't get don't get
fooled, because it's just the rookies. Look like a man of my boys
in that rook that camp last year. He's gonna be nice, though.
I'm telling you that I'm holding outhope for that. But I want to
see how guys kind of really handledthat first workload. We're talking about early
on being overwhelmed by the information, and sometimes coaches stand there and the watch

(31:18):
to see how guys communicate, becausethat's the biggest thing. Even if Ben
doesn't know, will Ben stand therekind of sacrifice the defense without asking anyone
else for help? And for me, I don't think there's anything wrong with
saying I don't know. The worstpart is just standing there and getting beat.
That's the most part. But weused to get tests, so the

(31:41):
coach don't know if you know it, not questions essays, but essay responsibility.
Get up here to the board. Here, we're a trial. Dogs
got fire, what's your man?We had to do it and I think
that that can't be right on theirtoes because unfortunately, even when guys making

(32:04):
millions of dollars, sometimes you'll getpeople who go home and they won't even
look at the playbook. Bro.Apparently there was a person who was like
that quarterback, would you know?Texting yes, come bro, No,
then think about it? And Johnnyhours on his eye the game the night

(32:29):
before, was it not the Tampagame? Was the one after the Tampa
game, the one where he waswe all we all knew his gamer tag,
right and so like you could seewhen he was online three o'clock in
the morning that he's online play aFortnite the night before the game, sorry
in the morning, the night beforethe game, maybe leffing on, maybe
lefing on. It tells you ifyou're active in the game. Coylin Murray

(32:50):
tried that. That's why they putthat in his concerence. Was he just
turned it off? He's playing mad. Yeah. People think that they can
remember everything that they went through inpractice, no man, any kind of
review this man. Ben and Italked about this, like Ben has one
of those photography have a really reallygood memory. I didn't used to,

(33:13):
I have to now like my memoryis starting to get not get to the
point where I don't remember. Iused to remember every time I'm saying.
So if you have you played inthe league, you read your playbook one
time and you got it. Imight read it twice just to make sure,
but but yeah, one time throughit, I'm I pretty much got
it. Be on the field weneed what do we say we read the

(33:36):
play in high school? When weneed the plays or whatever? You got
the script for Greece or whatever theygot. I just ran through the script
one time on you in my lines, and you got the photographic These days
it's not as photographic as it usedto be, but it used to used
to. Right now is polar roar. Now. We appreciate you coming in
