If Broncos Country Tonight our tackle here, help me see, let's go on
the official home of the Broncos. All right, all night, Kowa,
welcome into it. Broncos Country Tonight. Nick Ferguson, Shanna Scott back there
(00:24):
behind the glass that is a highlighteryellow T shirt. They can see you
from space, Sir, trying toblend in working well, I'm into an
alright, and mister all right,if you're nasty, we got Jenna Jackson
tickets to give away a little bitlater. You guys want to stay tuned
for that. During the previous show, I was talking about Jean van Develde,
who was the biggest choke of alltime in golf the ninety nine British
(00:46):
Open. We butchered that guy's namelike fifteen different ways from Sunday, so
I just went to do inform thoseseneris. It was Jean Vandervelt who had
I believe, like true triple bogiesthere at the end or something. He
was shooting I remember, shoot outof the water, into the sand trap,
out of the sand trap, outof the green and missed the pott
and it was I mean, itwas just yeah, it was bad.
You talk about it as though thatis easy to do. I'm not saying
(01:08):
it's easy. I mean the waythat you're criticizing it, it seems okay,
this guy talked in golf, Wellit was like the biggest collapse of
all time. Though, like Iwas ours one talking about I was still
busy talking about Luka Doncics being afat Lucat that's criticism. Oh man,
I got a better BMI than LukaDoncic. Well, Luca, to be
fair, he is about what eightinches nine inches taller than you. So
(01:33):
his body spread out so it's overtwo hundred and thirty pounds, So that's
his listed weight. He looks alittle heavier than that. Well, yeah,
okay, he's two hundred and thirtypounds. Here here's what we do
know about I guess NBA players. You look around the association, there's not
a lot of guys who are justkind of, you know, beefed up
and muscular. There's been some rockedup dudes in the NBA before, like
(01:55):
still a Miles Swift was like,I mean he was leaning, but he
was rocking. Okay, but thatthat's it's only you see some guys.
There was some tubby, tubby, tubby going on back in the day.
I mean Charles Oakly was not afin Man, No, he was Kendrick
Perkins, Charles Barkley. The roundrebounds, yes, exactly. But even
though they don't have a lot ofI guess uh exterior muscles, they make
up for it in other ways,Like like Luca said, what you want
(02:19):
to say about Luca and the ideaof Luca being overweight, that dude can
shoot your lights out. Well,I'm not disputing that at all. I'm
just this whole conversation got started withMichael Finley snatching up the beer from Luka
Dancic when Luca was Luca was drinkinga beer with his dad, Michael Finley,
his real father, came along anddunked a beer tapped up his dad
had bounced. You know what thatI when I saw that after they eliminated
(02:44):
the Timberwolf, I meily jumped onthat and I posted it and I was
like, listen, everyone is youknow, given Finley the blues and he's
taking a lot of strays. Butthat was a great move by the o
G. That's that's what you dolike and he was so smooth with it.
Too. Oh yeah, I meanit was like it's just kind of
(03:05):
floated in there, didn't make ita scene nothing. You wouldn't even know
if you didn't know, Yes,And that was like, that's what the
og needs to do, I said, But the biggest reason is that that
was happening outside of the lack ofhim, and obviously a camera was on
Luca at that time. So whatdo you try to do as an og
is trying to remove any of thenegative narrative that could come, Like if
(03:27):
if Boston sweeps the MAVs and there'sa huge possibility that can happen on Friday,
you know, individuals are going tostart looking for narrative to say,
Okay, well what was the reasonwhy? Right? I mean you said,
Al, you know you Al andRyan were talking about you know,
Lucas wading and his body fat that'sonly on the bleed into the conversation.
Well he was drinking beer. Wellthat's the thing, but that's that's a
(03:49):
reason Philly came to snatch that beerbecause it's a bad look, bad look.
Let'll be talking about it. Yeah, we're be going right here'll be
circling right back to it. Youknow, Lucashul Lucas gotta have more self
awareness than that. You know what, real talk. I think you know,
if Luca played against al and basketball, he dominated al with dominant Luca.
No, oh, okay, yeah, yes, a player in the
NBA would dominate Alfred Williamson basketball.Yes, I believe that. I firmly
(04:12):
believe that. There's no argument fromme on that. In a game of
wo and I went out on thefootball field right now and we tried.
I tried to catch passes on you. I would not be catching passes on
you. And the reason I saidthat, and this is obviously in the
game of horse, of course,to give a little cred this to the
fact of guess what, Luca maynot look like an NFL player, right
and his body fat may be higherthan what some may have expected. I
(04:36):
think it was what night think yousaid, Yeah, I talked to somebody.
I talked to somebody. In fairness, I got a contact down there
with the MAVs, so you know. And he shot back with the body
fat percentage right now, which islower than his BMI because his BMI is
like twenty five twenty six, buthis body fat percentage is like nineteen yeah,
and it's one of those things like, look, you may look at
a guy and think that they can'tball, which you found out yourself.
(04:58):
Oh yeah, it looks you're saying. It looks hard to see, especially
when it comes to Hoo's and man, it was like a forty five year
old, you know, with thetwo shaped with the headband given being the
business, giving me the business, yelling out names I've never heard of before.
So you have to be careful bylooking at a player and just judging
(05:20):
and I know, the idea Likelast night's game, I guess everyone kind
of looks at Luca said, Okay, well he looks tired, right,
But the reason he looks tired,in my opinion, is because when you
look at the makeup of the DallasMavericks, to me, it's a two
man show. It is a twoman show versus it is this higher team
(05:40):
it is and it's it's different. And this is where we've we are now
living in the era of the bigthree, right, you gotta have the
big three together. It was justabout over that's big, yes, and
it's just like no, you don'tjust need a big three, you need
a team. And that's kind ofwhat happened to the Denver Nuggets, right
they ran into they ran it.A bench issues against the te Wolves seem
(06:03):
designed to stop this. And thenthe t Wolves, who got like three
guy two guys that can score, ran into the Mavericks who also had two
guys that can score. Right thereyou go. So the moral of the
story as more teams look at what'staking place in the Association and the finders
right now, and this, forme, it's not just basketball, it
(06:23):
is all the major sports look atit. You just can't have one or
two top players and things like that'sgonna get work free, that's your foundation.
Then you need to surround them withpeople who can be complimentary. Yes,
and you're looking at a team thatkind of just didn't do that.
They've got an old world player,uh and and an old star in a
backcourt, and then you got someguys. Yeah I am, And I
(06:46):
hate to be you know, Ihate to be derogatory. That's like Daniel
Gafford, PJ. Washington, DerekJones or whatever. But I mean,
come on, well, yeah man, and you need a team. You
need like like any great movie thatwe've seen, it's always been in an
ensemble cast, right, that reallyhelps bring the story to life. Whether
it's your favorite sitcom which I happento, like you know, Friends at
(07:09):
Seinfeld, any one of those twoshows, and you know, if you,
if you, and I've never seenThe Office, but everyone talks about
it, Celario. But but whenyou when you see, it's the ensemble
cast, it's the whole thing. It's not just one person, right,
I mean that that can't carry asitcom. I know, one person.
We're firmly this show is living proofof that one person cannot carry it.
Yes, I might y as muchas he tries, and that being a
(07:32):
business min but no one on earthby that, literally, nobody on who's
ever listened to the show buying thateven for a even for a dollar.
But I mean, I just thoughtit was fascinating because I mean, you
know, you have seen guys overthe years that look like, we've got
one here that looked like and Isay, we've got one here, We've
got one here with the broncos.I wasn't even referring to Nicola with the
Yokic with it with the nuggets.I mean, talk about Quinn Minors.
(07:56):
You look at that guy and you'renot you're not thinking, Hey, that
guy runs a four nine forty oldby the always one of the best guards
in the you know, in theleague. You look at that gut hanging
out, they're like, man,Ronan needs to cut back on the beers.
See. That would mean that ifyou are d Lineman, you have
not watched film casually. Look atyou look at the body of that guy,
like you see Quinn Minors out atthe at the theater or something like
(08:18):
that, Like, no, thatdude's not one of the premier athletes in
the world, but he is rightright. It reminds me of time playing
in my early days with the Jetsand Ran Carthon was the running back coach,
and Ram was one of those typeof people that I mean, he's
going to say what he's going tosay when he's going to say it,
you know, wherever he is.And you know, there were a lot
(08:39):
of guys who we play with atthat time who you know, really looked
the part. And Ram was quickto say, look like tars and played
like James. So this was thewhole idea is that don't judge a book
by its cople Like if you lookat Quinn Minus, you see his belly.
I mean, it is protruding outright, and you think, okay,
well, there's no way that he'sgoing to be really quick. There's
(09:03):
no way that he's going to beable to pull and get out there and
leave for a running back until hegets out there and he plutes you in
the mouth, right, and thenyou're like, oh, but I mean,
I'm saying like, there are guys. There are dudes you look at,
you know, all the time, and you you we make assumptions,
you know, like we got tothe point you and I've been around athletics
longer. You look at a guylike you guy I played, you know,
such a you know that kind ofthing. But then you see some
(09:24):
body types and you're like nah,and then they surprise you, you know,
and that's one of the like likeQuinn is one of those guys,
Like you know, he's gonna beone of those guys. There was a
basketball player Arkansas head gosh back tothe national championship run when the beat Duke
and they and they and then lostto UCLA. And I'm I'm struggling to
remember his name off the top ofmy head, but he just was chubby
or whatever. But he was sofast. He would like he was making
(09:48):
his side. Ust was making moneyoff foot races, making money on because
he's just fat. And I'm tryingthat was like Dwight Stewart or something I
think was his name. I'm strugglingto remember right now, but he was
fat, but he would absolutely hebeat the brakes off everybody because the dude
could sprint that. Once again, obviously, you know Larry Allen passed last
week, and Larry Allen was oneof those guys that you saw from an
(10:11):
offensive standpoint where he was a massiveguy. And you may think, once
again, unless you are living underthe rock and you didn't watch film,
that he's not really equipped to playthe game in a very downhill type manner
like you seem like he's not goingto beat once again, like Quinn Miners.
He can't get out there and pulland get out in front of me,
(10:33):
and if he is, I canmake a quick move on him and
get around him. It's just likeno, It's like, and I learned
at a very young age playing thegame of pro football that don't do that.
Don't look across the field and say, you know what, that guy's
a receiver. But he doesn't havea receiver number, right, so he's
not gonna ball. So it wasDwight Stewart at six foot eight, two
(10:54):
hundred and sixty pounds basketball player atsix eight, two sixty by the way,
And I'm telling you the dude wasa five forty guy who would absolutely
blow the breaks off people making moneyup sight his side hustle with sprinting people
in the forty and he would beatthe brakes off him. And I can
see this setup because you see thatlarge of a man and you're thinking,
like, there's no way Charles Parkerlooking, you know what, You're like,
wait what Yeah, I'm gonna woopthis dude or whatever. It reminds
(11:16):
me of that scene. Remember,oh gosh, what SAIDs that that Donald
Glover show, Mister and Missus Smithor whatever. You know, I've gotten
into what he racist? Michael Vick, No, I didn't see that part.
Uh, I think it was anyway, it's one or whatever. You
probably you're talking about Atlanta, Yeah, Atlanta, sorry, Atlanta. Yeah,
I'm thinking the new one. ButI met Atlanta. Yeahho, he
raceist Michael Vick. Yeah, andhe hits the face. But Michael Vick's
(11:39):
like forty seven years old. Hecame, He's run like ten races in
a row, right, he stillgets dusted. And then the pants he
didn't even show the race, justpants to his face afterwards, and it's
just like the most dejected looking youknow who did something like that recently a
couple of months ago on social media. Uh Tyreek Hill went around you know,
Miami on the South Beach, dressedas like an old guy, and
(12:01):
he was challenging people to a RaSEand they thought like, oh, this
this is this cold man. See, I want to do something like that.
I want to, you know, discuis disguise myself up and then you
know, but wait, if youdisguise yourself, what would be the payoff?
What would you do? I don'tknow. I mean would you race
some one? Yeah? Or playtennis? Or say, I mean,
(12:22):
like just beat the brakes off attennis just because I'm actually like a really
good at tennis, you know, like something like that. And I'm still
decent at tennis. You know, like a lot of the things have fallen
off as I've gotten into my forties, but I'm still So are you leaning
more tennis? Because but tennis,I'm just tennis, because that's one of
those skills that hadn't fallen off.All right, So okay, so is
it tennis or is it pickleball?Where you are going, it's the same
(12:43):
thing. It really isn't. Oneday. I never played pickleball. I've
seen it, and I'm like, maybe I should try that at some point,
but I'm not. You know,I'm still I played tennis coming up,
so I still played. Maybe that'swhat you should do. Go out
there, dress as an elderly manand pick a ball playing against some you
know, some younger kids, andthey give them to Andrea. I can
(13:05):
see, yes, I will see. I don't. Pickleball just looks too
I don't know, it looks towhat are you now, I'm gonna shame
pickleball old people. It looks toold people. Wait a minute, there's
more than old people who are playingthe game. I ever see. I
got to open you up to twomore because pickleball, even though it's somewhat
(13:26):
of I'm shaming right now because Ihave participated. Yes you are, but
but it is one of those gamesthat everyone can actually play. It's not
saying as though you have to bereally athletic, but hand eye coordination.
And it's for individuals who like ifyou killing I'm not saying no, but
(13:50):
there are some very competitive pickleball gamesthat I've witnessed with you know, younger
people. Is really competitive. MaybeI'll give it a try. I'm just
try to come up with something whereit hasn't fallen They could the where I'm
not going to mess around and lose. See the skills, the body is
full of the temple has been defiled, the body is falling off a little.
Yeah, trying to stack the decksso you can win. Well,
(14:11):
I mean this is one of thosethings that hasn't really fallen off for me.
Like I could still play tennis reallywell, then why don't you play
a game of horse? Game ofhorse in basketball? Yes, I mean
that's still competitive. I feel likethe bragging rights on winning horse are not
really the same. So you wantto just go straight up one on one.
I feel like I want to smokesomebody with an ace right down the
(14:31):
right down the tee in tennis, and then and then give them the eye
and give them the stink eye.Okay, well, listen, it's the
tennis equivalent of getting dunked on.If you arrange it. I'll be there.
I've always pushed for you and andmaybe somehow we get it done for
you to enter into a Madden tournamentlike Bigemin All Bright win BIS money is
something like that and have individuals, except it's for dumb people. People and
(14:56):
people play you in Men because Iokay, there, yeah, you talk
a lot of cash money stuff abouthow well you playing Mad. We can,
we can, we can give ita go. Don't say we.
I don't play Madden. You alsodon't gamble, that's right, So is
that what snatch your money? I'mextending it out to you in the Honestly,
I'm waiting for the college football gameto come out. We can play
with whoever wants, whoever wants to, because I like the way that I
(15:20):
play offense in that game, likeI play the triple option is so irritating
Apparently to people, I put themilk, the clock all the way on,
and I'm just three yards and acloud of dust. Every time.
I just want to see you,I just want to joke on your word.
They will cuss it me through theheadset because I'll have the ball the
whole half, right, it doesn'tmatter. It's gonna be a three possession
game. I'm gonna get two possessions. You're gonna get one unless you turn
(15:43):
me over at some point. Allright, any listeners out there, if
you play Madden or you play thenew EA, well it's not out yet,
but when it comes out, right, it comes out. I mean,
I'm going to issue the challenge onbehalf of Benjamin all Bright, bring
your best a game twitch or something. Yes, I did think about doing
that, Like everybody's got like agimmick podcast now, and I was thinking
(16:06):
like we could do some kind ofyou know, have celebrities play Madden and
get the get their butt handed tothem, you know, by you about
the celebrities, by me, Imean yeah, I mean we could welcome
other celebrities and as well. I'mnot a celebrity, but I would say
I would host the show, youknow, and you would give commentary over
here, and we have somebody inthey're playing Madden against me and getting the
breakspeat off while I'm talking mess Yeah, because I listen, I see you
(16:30):
remind me of my older brother whenwe were younger and playing video games,
talking cash money all the time whenhe's winning and the moment the table's turn
is just silence on that other side. Well, see that would okay,
See I don't know anything about that. Though the tables haven't turned. I'd
love to experience that at some pointright now on nobody put Benjamin all right
(16:53):
in his place, Like I sitthere, and I think I struggled with
like if I played myself, couldI beat myself? I don't. I
don't. Like I like to thinkthat I could, but that I might
be such a tactician that I wouldsee now you now you're going too far
right. I was trying to keepa straight face looking at me like the
(17:14):
most incredulous look, and I hadlike the stone Stoic series face wet to
just see what happens if you haveto take that walk of shame? Can
you hear the first time? Tellyou this the first time that happens,
it is goulda be rough for me, like the first the first time I
get I get run up on likethat, Like it's gonna be rough for
me. But he may up bea plitiic, Like I'm not a bad
(17:34):
loser, but I'll be like agood one either. Well I wouldn't know,
see cause someone do that for mecause someone do that for me,
play Ben and Madden whatever game andjust put him in his place. What
happened to the NBA jam that wasoutside of the room. One of the
(17:56):
news guys wanted it, so Ilet him, Like the first kid,
wait a minute, you were supposedto play BK b k's gonna whoop my
backside? NBA chains three K isa secret shark at NBA jam. See,
that's why, that's why you hadto get rid of it. And
I was like, man, Iain't trying to get a hand it to
me right now. It is tryingto see you know what. That says
a lot about you. It's likethat. It says a lot you Just
you got rid of the game becausefor it, and I gave it to
(18:18):
him. And then he gave mea Chipoli gift card. That's what it
was worth, a tupole gift call. He just gave me one. He
gave me a thank you card?Did atchully gift? How much we was
on it? More than one meal? Okay? How many? Okay?
How many meals were on the cart? Four or five? Okay? I
still think you were ducking in dodgingthough, well, I mean, I
know my limits when it comes toNBA JAM. And that's why I'm not
(18:41):
sitting here talking smack about NBA JAM. I just want to watch someone just
make you just put your head down. And you know how many people over
the last twenty years and said,I want to see you take a loss
like your year insufferable. You knowhow many people have told me that.
I'm just saying we can do themath during the break Broncos Country and that
comes back after this. Look backto it, Broncos Country tonight. Benjamin
ol Bright, Dick Ferguson, ShannonScott back there producing running the board,
(19:03):
being a jack of all trades, master of even more. He's all shucksing
right now. They can't they can'tsee you on the radio channel five six
six nine zero is the text line. But when we repair of tickets to
Janet Jackson with Nellie June sixteenth, this Sunday at Ball Arena three O three
seven one three eighty five eighty fivethree or three seven one three eighty five
(19:23):
eighty five colored four right now,one pair of tickets to Janet Jackson with
Nelly this Sunday, June sixteenth atBall Arena. I would I would go
see that show. Of course youwould go see that show. I'm working
on trying to get you that show, and we got to we don't just
get that, you know, wegot to give the tickets away. I
can't just keep it for ourselves. So but I'm working. I'm working something.
(19:44):
I'm working an angle. Always workat an angle, right, Well,
if you were not working an angle, you would be Benjamin Ouber.
That's sad. See, that's that'ssort of the thing. My brother actually
worked on that album, the Nelly'sCountry Grammar album. My you know,
my brother's been around the pretty Ithink most people listen to the show no,
but he you know, excuse me, a music producer in the you
know, in the rap game.He worked for Nelly and three six Mafia.
(20:06):
There's he worked on that album.I think he's in one of the
videos, like he's the uh,the white guy in the Hot and Here
video or whatever. So he's awhite guy in the hot and I mean
there's one white guy in the Hotin Here video. I mean, I
think it's it's pretty obvious which onehe is. Wait now I need to
hit the other video. I needto go back and watch it. He's
even one up. I had topull it up later and figure out which
(20:26):
which video he's in. I can'tremember if it's hot in here or not.
Actually, man, now I'm drawinga blank. I'm getting old,
I'm losing my losing my touch.Five six six nine zeros. A texta
on you guys want to get involvedin the conversation. Father's Day coming up?
By the way, that is alsoSunday. Yes it is, mister
Ferguson. If you're nasty, yes, Where does Father's Day rank in the
pantheon of holidays? I personally havenever got a father so uh, except
(20:49):
for the other radio stations in town, all their programs that air opposite us
or my son, you are sosticking it out. I know, I
I I've never you know, that'sbeen one of those things. And my
dad was kind of a jerk,so you know, I've begrudgingly celebrated that
while he was alive. But I'mnot. I mean, the Father's Day
comes up, I guess my mom'snew husband, you know, I just
(21:10):
get him something. He's cool, dude, and you see's always been a
good example what a man supposed tobeep. But I've never I mean,
i've never been on the receiving yetof that. So for a fray Father's
Day, what is that like foryou? Does that mean that you're you're
getting the day off all the choresor celebrating dad, or does that mean
that you're getting a card and thenyou're going right back to the grind,
you know, necktie? Like whatwhat do you get? What do you
get for Father's Day? See,that's that's the wild thing about it.
(21:34):
Like when we think about the holidays, Father's Day seems as though it ranks
pretty low. Yes, because theone day of all is it's Mother's Mother's
Day. Oh yeah, we allout from other day, all out for
Mother's Day. But when it comesto Father's Day, it is maybe a
necktie. Maybe a kid, youknow, worked in woodshop class and they
(21:56):
made something for you and you go, oh, completely non functional and you're
never going to use that's interesting, right, fascinating, thank you, right,
fascinating. Yes. And it's justlike as a dad, you're like,
look, man, if I couldget a day where I'm not doing
anything great, and this is whyI think like maybe the NFL should change
(22:17):
the season. So it's just kindof centers around five day. So you
just watch the game. Idea Father'sDay for you would be like just doing
nothing. Yes, so like aTuesday for me, Yes, exactly,
it's like an episode of side Film, right right basically George Constanti, Yeah
exactly. And once again it's forme, my family does they do it.
(22:37):
They do a great job. Mywife does a great job. But
it's just like, okay, wellwhat is it that you want to do?
And for me it's like you gota special meal or anything, like
what do you get out of thefire? Like what seriously what do you
get out of I don't know theanswer to this, okay. So so
for me, if you were toask me, okay, say well what
do you want for Father's Day?From a Father's Day meal? And you
know, my family is Caribbean.I grew up in Miami, so there
(23:00):
was a lot of different or differenttypes of delicacies that then yes, okay,
all right, all right, I'mdown. So I'm gonna say something.
I don't know if if you arequite familiar with it, but for
me, it's like rice and beans, plants, yes, and some oxtail,
(23:21):
coconut milk, yes, okay, yes, So for me, it's
that a jerk chicken or or currychicken. Not a curry guy. But
I'm there with you. I knowwhat you're saying. Now. For dessert,
I mean sweet potato pie. Yes, limit upside down. Okay,
Okay, I'm okay with that too. I'm done. I mean that's a
Southern I mean that's yes, yes, and for me that that's it.
(23:41):
But usually once again on Father's Day, and I know everyone loves their father,
but the treatment is not the sameas Mother's Day. Is that the
same? Oh, it's not atall, Like like I noticed from the
dis and that's not just because myfather was a you know whatever and we
didn't care, But like I noticedthis across other relationships as well, how
(24:03):
people treat the dad versus how theytreat you know, the on the Father's
Day versus mother Day. They goon Father's Day, it's like, Eh,
we're going to dinner. Dad's gonnapay for it. We're going,
you know, we'll go where dadwants, but Dad's gonna pay for it.
There's really not much else to itother than if you've got a pocket
square or a necktie or something likethat. Versus Mom's Day, where it's
breakfast in bed. We're doing allthe chores for mom to day. Everything's
(24:25):
getting cleaned by us. We're takingMom out to dinner. Dad is still
paying. Uh, we're you know, we're going where Mom wants to go.
You know, we're giving mom thespace she needs today. Dad's handling
everything, you know, that kindof thing. Well, usually on Mother's
Day, it's like every restaurant inthe city they do this special Mother's Day
lunch. They got this thing thatthey're doing, a mimosas. I like
(24:48):
mimosas. What you can't do isget mimosas because we can't. We do
brunch. We can do that.Dad can do brunch. Dude, brunch
does not exist. No, theydon't. They don't market it anyway,
No, they don't. And that'sthe whole thing. Like, look,
I mean, truth be told, full transparency. Like I call my mom
more than I call my dad,and sometimes I feel guilty. It's like,
(25:11):
man, I got to find away to balance it out, but
it never balances out. I meanI call my mom more than I call
my dad. Of course, mydad passed away it over you, so
that makes it a little easier todo. But I know, I just
I mean I don't know. Thereis a bit of a disparity there,
and I was asking where that ranksin the pantheon of holidays. The three
LL seven soys Father's Day ranks considerablylow, even below Halloween, which,
(25:32):
by the way, as a singleman who's for I am celebrating the Halloween.
I'm a fan of all the things. One thing about Halloween is that
that was the one day of theyear that you can dress up and be
anyone and there's no issues. Alot of your your charisma in who you
are, your personality shows, andyou're a fan of how other people dress
(25:52):
up. You mean, like youlove being very obvious with what I'm saying
right now, I like seeing asa lady stress. Yes, okay,
you want more looking for you knowpeople, And I'm just saying I love
the creativity in their costume, creativityin the constant. Very interesting. But
but it's it's great. I meaneverything is the sexy variant of yes it
(26:15):
is. I didn't even know youcould have sexy nuns. Apparently you can.
Yes, And usually there's a psychologiesto the sexy devil or something like
right, yes, sexy girl scout. Yes, Okay, once again,
that's the only but you know, that's the only other day that people show
their elaborate personality. But it's interestingthat this this texter is saying that Father's
(26:41):
Day ranks like below below Halloween, but he's putting Halloween low in the pantheon
here, which I disagree with.Yes, because okay, the other one
that's ranked pretty high for someone youknow, maybe you as well, you've
been one of those individuals. Balancine'sDay. Yeah, if you're with somebody,
not with somebody, what do youwhat do you do? See?
Valentine's Day doesn't rate that high forme, No, it does. See
(27:03):
for me, it's less about methough. If I'm with somebody, I'm
trying to put the effort into them. Like, it doesn't rank high for
me. I don't care if anythingaround times today. I think it's just
a commercial holiday whatever. But ifyou're putting stock in it, then I
guess I got to put stock init if I'm with you, you know
kind of thing. See, that'salways been my issue or issues that women
I've dated and me. Valentine's Day, Yeah, because they said, well,
(27:25):
Nick, you are frugal or youcheap. I'm like, no,
I'm not. I mean, whyshould I be confined by a calendar date
that states that I'm supposed to docertain things? Why can't I just do
them randomly? Because I want tosee I'm with you on that. I'm
with you on that. I liketo be spontaneous and surprised rather than being
pigeonholed over. And then they're comparingwhat you did on Valentine's Day amongst themselves
(27:47):
and all that kind of stuff. When they're at brunch and we can't have
we well, okay, if thetext here says we can, we can
have dude brunch or drunch, Ifeel like we have to have a remarketable
word for that. It's right, right, He's called it drunch. Yeah,
So what's provided in drums? Idon't know, but we can figure
that out. We'll We check inwith traffic with Derek Coplan. Welcome back
(28:07):
to it, Broncos Country Tonight, benj beIN All Bright, Dick Ferguson,
hit on, Scott back there, producing congratulations to Richard Garrison for winning the
Janet Jackson tickets. We do wehave another pair? I don't know.
We may not have another pairent ofher mind several contracts NFL contracts coming out
of Florida right now. Trevor Lawrencesigned a big money deal a little bit
(28:27):
earlier today. Kaleis Campbell just signedin the last twenty minutes with the Miami
Dolphins. Thirty seven year old stillgot plenty left in the tank there.
Nick and I were talking about someold players during the break, like him
and Marcedes Lewis, who's still goingstrong at forty in the NFL. That's
that's why Marcedes Lewis was in thesame draft class as the Beak o' ryan's
(28:48):
and Demigo has been the hey coachgoing on his second guys expanded coaching for
like six years. Oh, that'sthat's that's you know what. It's great
for Mercedes because it speaks to longevityin the game because typically it's quarterbacks and
backup quarterbacks, right that we seeplay a long time. And to see
(29:10):
a guy at the tight end positionplay that long and listen, let's be
over the order. Some of thequarterbacks in that glass played for a long
time. That was the Jake Cutlerclass. Jay Cutler was it's been retired
for how many years, But that'sthat's wild and look I know Mercedes is
not putting up the same numbers heput up. Well, he's a blocking
tight end, so he's not puttingup numbers per se. But it is
(29:33):
a gift and occurs when you aregreat at blocking because it increases your longevity.
But as far as the amount ofmoney that you feel as though you
should get paid, right like ChrisManner saying getting baller money, No,
no he's not. But but atthe same time, if you want to
add to the pitson and extend yourcareer, hey, and you catch what
(29:55):
maybe what forty passes a year,Hey, you can stress this thing out.
Yeah. Lewis back, of coursewith the Chicago Bears, spent most
of his career in Jacksonville up totwenty seventeen, then with the Packers up
till twenty twenty two, and thenthe Bears last year. It'll be with
the Bears again this year has notuh, He's missed one game since twenty
sixteen. One game. One gameis missed. One game, wow,
(30:19):
one missed it in twenty twenty withthe with the Green Bay Packers, spent
played all seventeen games last three seasons. Missed one game in twenty twenty and
then hadn't missed a game part ofthat since twenty sixteen. That's the true
definition of iron man in this league. So I'm saying, like, Bro,
you old as dirt and you're stillout there not missing games. Like
how ashamed would you be if you'rea young Bears tight end you get little
(30:42):
dinged up, you gott to missa game? How ashamed would you be?
Forty? Wait, this man's gotthis man fair, This man's got
a kid in college. How tallis Mercedes Lewis? Oh, he's gotta
be like six six sixty five.I can tell you him. They threw
six three eight sixty one hit thecombine. I don't know what he's sing,
So they threw it to him witha jump ball in the end zone.
(31:03):
I mean, no matter how oldhe is, I mean, he's
already that much taller than you.Well, he only caught four balls last
year, but he but he playedin every game. Real talk, that
would be embarrassing though, Like whatdo you say what he's saying? Like
when he's saying ice up, son, the other guy might even base.
But you're old enough the other guycould be his son, you know,
Like how Lebron James has been inthe league ever since he was in high
(31:25):
school, and he's played against both. There's somebody did that with a fake
me with like del Curry and stuffCurry and I'm like, okay, all
right, that's funny because at thatpoint are you saying, like, Yo,
man, I'm that dude because Ihave longevity. But man, am
I getting old? Because now I'mplaying against father's sons. It's like,
(31:48):
at some point you got to say, you know what, enough is enough?
You got to bow out. Yougot to bow out. But it
would be embarrassing if you got houseby Mercedes Lewis. I know, the
dudes that I grew up with whoI hang around, they're gonna give you
the business. Yeah, They're gonnagive you the business all day every day.
Well, I mean, I justI don't know. It's fascinating to
(32:10):
me that he's he's like, showsno signs of slowing down. I mean,
he basically plays offensive tackle at thispoint as a tight end because he's
at the komline. He was backin the day, back you know,
twenty years ago or whatever, hewas six six two sixty. Now he's
like six six two eighty five twoninety that that should be encouraging for some
(32:30):
rookie tight end on someone's roster. And once again, you don't have to
make five million dollars a year. You can make one point five and you
would take that if it extended yourcareer in extra five years. And from
a team standpoint, you get aguy who can be a red zone threat.
He's not going to stretch the fieldbecause he doesn't have that that youthful
(32:52):
leg bounce anymore. All he hashas to do is run, turn around.
He's it's sixty six. Yeah, just kiss the ball. And he's
making two million a year. Bythe way, his career earnings are sixty
two point eight million dollars. Comeon, come on, man, sixty
two point eight millions. Like whatChase Day is made as a backup quarterback.
Yeah, kinda just sit back,Chase, Chase Daniel back there,
(33:15):
sitting back there, reading the playbookall day. Exactly good money if you
can get it. We got RyanMichael Roman being coming up the later on
in the sw Broncos Country to NightKo
