Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to it. Broncos Country Tonight, short show tonight obviously
post Rockies. Addition, it's all cuts, miss Eve as it were,
We've already started to see some Broncos cuts trickle on in.
It made some moves today. We'll get into get into
some of that here in just a little bit five
six six nine zeros text line. You guys want to
get involved in the conversation. Broncos one final preseason game

(00:24):
against the Arizona Cardinals kind of a blowout as the
bottom of the roster guys squared off. And I think
that that says something to me about the overall stability
of the roster now and how the floor or the
basement of that roster is much better than it has
been in years past. I don't know that it says
anything overall about the team as a whole, but it
certainly says that the Broncos are going to have to

(00:45):
make some decisions when it comes to cutting down the
roster and making some of these moves that they're gonna make.
We talked a little bit of the Insider segment before
the Broncos radio broadcast yesterday that Ceedee Lamb deal was done.
Sure enough, that got announced today. We saw Ceedee Lamb

(01:05):
get the you know, the big contract that we expected
and we did. We didn't do anyth that it was coming.
That was never something that I doubted would get done.
But the question is, uh, uh, you know what that
was gonna look like and what it was going to
be in the end, and they they end up coming

(01:27):
in with uh with the big money deal, making him
I believe that the second highest paid non quarterback UH
in the league when all said and done. So Ceed's happy,
Jerry's happy. I guess, maybe a little poorer. But that
won't last, Uh won't last too too long. Uh. Details
on the extension four year deal thirty eight million dollar deal,

(01:55):
thirty six million dollar deal that false right in line
with what we had suggested yesterday would be the final
number at thirty four million ap Y, right below the
thirty five million Justin Jefferson had received back in June.

(02:17):
Lamb was the seventeenth overall pick in twenty twenty. It
select to just a little bit behind Jerry Judy. That
whole draft is interesting because the Raiders threw a buddy
go off, taking Henry Ruggs as the first wide receiver
in that draft when the Broncos expected them to take
Jerry Judy, and from what I had been told at

(02:40):
the time, just that Jefferson would have been the Broncos pick,
not Rugs had Judy gone to the Raiders, So that
entire draft could have shaken out wildly different, you know,
another one of those old time what could have been
type moments. But good for ceeddeelamb to get the Brandon

(03:00):
and a Yuk deal still hold up out there, and
I suspect that at the end of the day he'll
go back to San Francisco. As the market gets flooded
with cut wide receivers, I think his market will dry
up a little bit and we'll we'll sort of see
what shakes out out of that. As far as the

(03:20):
Broncos go, quite a few moves today officially released defensive
tackle Angelo Blackson, receiver Philip dor Set, inside linebacker Andre Smith.
They waved defensive back Omar Brown, corner Art Green, corner,
Caleb Hayes, guard Oliver Jervis, and inside linebacker Alec Mock.

(03:42):
Drew Sanders and d Laren turneyelle both on the pop list,
so they count towards the ninety man. Whereas Thomas the
Asman did not because he was an international player. Trent
and Gill they will be cutting him, but they were
trying to see if they could get anything in trade
off of him. And the team is also notified running
back Tom jp Ryme, which if you've listened to the

(04:03):
show you knew that was coming. And wide receiver Tim Patrick,
which is surprising some fans. Although recently we've kind of
talked about the emergence of de Von Dale and and
little George Upman and Humphrey and Brandon Johnson, how that
made that sort of expendable if they decided to move on. Well,
they are deciding to move on. My gut based on
some conversations I've had, is that Tim probably gets dealt,

(04:27):
probably to like a Detroit or a Pittsburgh. I know
there are several calls in on him right now. We'll
see the only hang up I think that could that
could derail any kind of trade there is He's got
when he when he redid his contract to move his
salary down to at minimum earlier this year, there are
some incentives in there. While those incentivesive list they're listed

(04:49):
is not likely to be earned, but the reality is
they are likely to be earned if he plays, and
so that may be a hang up or hold up
in an acquiring team potentially wanting to bring Tim Patrick on.
As far as some a JP Rye goes, I think
he goes back to Cincinnati. We've talked about that quite
a bit on this show. I don't know one hundred

(05:11):
percent in the end if that's going to be the case,
but we'll see, we'll see where that shakes out. Broncos
down to eighty three players right now, and again that
includes Drew Sanders, Andelaraon Turtiuelle, who do count against the
roster on the pop, and that both those guys will

(05:34):
not be available for the start of the season as
they're still rehabbing. So you know, just a just a
heads up there. Blacks and Angela Blackson may have been
a bit of surprise to me. I don't think any
of these other names are surprised. Again, official releases of
Agila Blackson, philped Dorsett, and Andre Smith, I don't think

(05:55):
any of those were surprising. And the Wave Tmar Brown,
Art Green and Caleb Hayes, Oliver Jervis, Alec Maccker. I
don't think any of those surprises outside of maybe Angela Blackson.
But the rest of those, I mean, we we kind
of knew that that was coming. The roster is starting
to take shape. We're starting to see, you know, this thing,

(06:17):
this thing sort of round into shape. And I think
the question now becomes how many receivers do they keep?
Probably if you move in Tim Patrick, the answer is
probably six then and the question there becomes is the
last one Brandon Johnson, a little Jordan Humphrey, do you
do you keep one on the roster with a handshake
deal to the other that you're gonna put them on
the practice squad then rotate them back up later on.

(06:39):
You know, there's uh several options there. I think, you know,
the odd man out I think are probably Sills, Virgil
and Bandy, although any one of those three could find
themselves on the practice squad. We'll see, we'll sort of
see how that shakes out. But as it say, it's COURTLEA. Sutton,
Josh Reynolds, Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin, Devon Ballet. You know,
definitely those five will be in. I don't know, you

(07:01):
know how much we'll see if Troy Franklin this year,
But and I again I've talked about this. I would
not be surprised if he was a healthy scratch all year.
But we'll see. I mean, it's there's time for things
to click for him. I think they view him more
as a year two contributor, the same way they viewed
Mims last year as more of a year two contributor.

(07:23):
So we'll see. And I don't know how many deep
balls there's gonna be available for those guys. You know,
Bo doesn't doesn't particularly throw it deep very often. I
mean he's more of a take what they give you,
Derek Carr type quarterback, and there will be some opportunities,
but I don't know that there's gonna be a ton
of deep ball opportunities for those guys. Well, we'll see
how that goes. I'll get more to the Broncos stuff
here in a minute. I just want to get to

(07:43):
one story that jumped out at me yesterday. And you know,
maybe it's something that that interests only me, maybe it doesn't,
but Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, who you've had on the show,
reported that the Rams had given Jones and his agent
permission to talk to other teams about a trade, and

(08:07):
the subsequent tack on reporting to that, and I use
that term loosely because and this is why I rail
against these aggregation sites turned that into Ernest Jones had
requested a trade from the Rams. Ernest Jones, a linebacker
for the Rams. Jones got on Twitter and tonight it

(08:30):
said I never asked for a trade, and Rams coach
Sean McVeigh had to come out today and sort of
clean that up, saying that Jones is right, he never
requested a trade, but that the Rams had dialogues with
other teams, saying, quote, we never said that he requested
a trade. We've had communication with his representation. I'm going
to leave that in house for now. We're just working

(08:52):
through some different things and we're just going to take
it a day at a time. He's a pro and
every sense of the word. Sometimes things get out there,
but in his defense, he's right, he never requests to trade.
We had communication with his representation. There's been some dialogue
with teams, and that's where it's at. The fact that
the Rams had dialogue with teams strong to suggest obviously
that trade could be coming even if Jones didn't demand one.

(09:13):
But the way that this was reported out there was
that Jones was demanding a trade, and that was patently false,
and we saw it time and time again from these
aggregator accounts, these these bogus football accounts with no sourcing whatsoever,
that take the reporting of real reporters and then turn
around and pretend that they have sourcing without giving credit,

(09:33):
without linking back to things. Because of the way that
Twitter is designed. Now, if you've got a blue check
on Twitter, now, if you paid for one, I didn't
pay for mine. Mine went away and then all of
a sudden it came back. I don't know what's up
with that, but I do know that that if you
get a certain number of views, you get paid. You
get paid off of that. And so what these accounts,
like for instance, mL Football or NFL Notify or Dove

(09:56):
Kleman or any of these bogus fraudulent accounts do is
they try to direct as many eyeballs to their tweets
as possible and not give credit to the originals, because
that's their currency. The views are currency. And so if
they sort of write the word hat tip in there
or you know, as a partial credit or don't credit

(10:17):
at all, then they get credit for the view on
that and the person who originated does not, and so
this is the scam that they're running. And we saw
this again here. These people have no original information, no
inside sourcing, no nothing on any of it. But what
they did was they took Jeremy Fowler's report, changed a
few of the words and changed the meaning so that

(10:37):
instead of the rams were having dialogue with several teams
that Ernest Jones had demanded a trade, and then all
of a sudden that gets out there, you know, kind
of across the board, and everybody's sitting there saying this
this thing that objectively isn't true, and they're getting paid
for it. So this is why I rail about these
these kinds of accounts all the time, these aggregator accounts

(10:58):
on Twitter. I understand that it's easier to get all
your news in one place rather than follow a bunch
of people. I get it. And there's an account that
you can do that at that's totally legit, thirty two
beat Writers, which is the number three of the number
two beat writers on Twitter. At thirty two, they do
a fantastic job of properly aggregating people, crediting where it's due,
and they basically just retweet the people so you can

(11:19):
sort of you don't have to follow all these people.
They're going to retweet their reports into your timeline anyway.
But these other accounts that people follows, it's embarrassing looking
at the people that follow these accounts, like this the
Dove Clean and it's not even the original Dove Cleman
that runs the account. Now it's somebody from I think
it's from not lad Bible, but oh man, I have

(11:40):
to go back and look. But I used to know
who is running that account. Now they sold it back
in February, and it's engagement farming. Everything that they do
is an effort to get views and retweets on their
tweets so that they can get money off of it.
And these accounts are are choking the life out of
real journalism because those of us who actually work for

(12:01):
these stories, you know, those guys are just making money
off stealing our tweets. And we saw the Clean account
did it till Ryan Michael are our frequent guest on
this show. Was it last week week before where he
just ripped off a tweet And it was funny because
the tweet was all publicly available information, but he just
word for worded the thing and it was obvious, and

(12:23):
so it's it's I'm just enough of this rant. But
I'm tired of these aggregation accounts that offered little to
nothing to anybody and yet are racking in, uh, these
views and misrepresenting what's going on around the league with
no oversight. There's no you know, people like it. We
have a we have an editorial process here. You know,

(12:45):
real news has an editorial problem. They don't have anything.
They get something wrong, oh well, they just move on,
delete the tweet and move on. And so that's you
know that that's part of the problem I think I
have with some of this stuff is you know, these
these things are are ridiculous, and this is sort of
the thing that we get where we get this this
Ernest Jones was you know, demanding a trade which had
never happened. So anyway, enough of that rent, Uh, We'll

(13:08):
get back to some Broncos stuff. I want to talk
a little bit about the way this this roster is
shaping up, uh, because I've said I'd be surprised if
they didn't carry all three quarterbacks, and I continue to
state that, I continue to believe that they're going to
carry three quarterbacks, all three quarterbacks. I've seen some some
people out there trying to twist what Jarrett Stidham said into,
you know, into something negative, and yeah, it's gonna stop

(13:28):
doing that. Jarrett was disappointed didn't win a job. He's
been nothing but supportive of bon Nicks and Zach Wilson
and so these accounts out there. This is another one
where when you've got guys that are these anonymous account
you know, the respect my cos or whatever, that lay
Mass account is the mic guy what I can't even
think of his name now, it's you know, he put
side by side video and tried to spin it up

(13:50):
as old Jared Stidham's uh uh, you know, bagging on boat.
It's it's it's you know, it's stupid Jared stid It
like that guy's never talked to Jared Stidham a day
in his life. Who posted that he's chopped up some
video to make it and make it look a certain way.
Jared stidm has been nothing but supportive of these guys.
And the reason that Sean Payton and then want to
keep him around is because he's good in the quarterback room.

(14:11):
So just another you know, I know, I promised i'd
quit ranting on it. But just another example of somebody
who has no clue what they're talking about, doesn't talk
to anybody, and wants to stir things up for clicks
so they can probably get paid off of it. I honestly,
I don't know if that accounts verified or not. I've
blocked it a long time ago, but somebody, somebody sent

(14:33):
me a text message showing me their showing me their nonsense.
So anyway, as far as the rest of the roster goes,
we talked about this. I believe it was Friday, but
there are some cuts that could be painful coming forward.
I mean, the Tim Patrick thing I think hurt. I

(14:54):
mean everybody knows that Justine Simmon stuff that that hurt.
This is what I told you guys was coming though.
And when Sean Payton was hired, and that's you know,
I'm not trying to dog anybody here, but this is
who it is. It's going to be his locker room.
He wanted to get rid of the leadership in there
and you know, replace it with his own leadership. And
there are people that will agree with that and say
the old leadership didn't win fair. That's a fair point.

(15:16):
But at the end, I told you guys this kind
of stuff was coming. This going to overhaul the thing
and make it his and it's all going to be
his way and and all that kind of stuff. Well
here we are. That's the reason. You know, Justin Simmons
isn't gone because of money. They had the money to
be able to make it work. Justin Simmons isn't gone
because of a decline in play. He was certainly highly productive.
He's you know, he's with the Falcons now because John

(15:38):
Payton want to make this Sean Payton's team, and he's
making it Sean Payton's team. And now he's got you know,
all those people who are considered leadership in the locker
room are gone now, you know, Justin Mike Purcell, Tim Patrick,
Russell Wilson. Obviously. I mean there's there's a lot of
those guys that you know that were there that were
kind of those guys that aren't here anymore. And that's why.

(16:00):
And so as you see that, you know, Josie, as
you see that, now you're you're you know, you're seeing
Sean Payton's vision for this football team, and uh and
him and his coaches and his players becoming the you know,
the leadership on this team. And so now I think
it's incumbent on him to win. You know, you got
what you wanted table set, you got your quarterback, you
got rid of the people you wanted to get rid of,

(16:22):
and some of those guys may have been fan favorites,
but this is what you guys told me you wanted.
You know, you wanted this coach and his culture, and
that's the byproduct to that. I'm not passing judgment on it.
I want to see it on the field. You know,
as far as that goes, maybe maybe it's the right call.
Maybe a clearing house like that is the right call.
I don't know. We'll see it on the field, and
so that's what I think we need to pivot towards

(16:43):
now at this point. You know, is we got Seattle
coming up in a couple of weeks. What's that going
to look like? This Nebroncos Country to Night right here
on KOA. It's a fifty am ninety four one AM
News Talk Sports. Welcome back to it, Broncos Country Tonight.
Benjamin Allbright here with you Short show again, Post Rockies

(17:06):
Edition five, six, six nine zero appreciates your texts. Had
a bunch of questions about why the Broncos would move
on from Tim Patrick, why they would move on from
p Ryan. Peter Ryan was just the odd man out man.
There's not anything that he brings to the table that

(17:26):
you don't get from one of the other running backs.
Estimate is excellent in pass protection, Javonte's good in past protection.
Javonte can catch out of the backfield. Both guys can
can take on a short yardage roll. There's not there's
not anything either one of those guys bring to the
table that you you know, youn't get out of them
and save money. You know, Julia McLoughlin is a different

(17:50):
sort of back and what he brings to the table.
It's got an extra gear safe thing with Blake Watson,
so you know, I just I think with the p
Ryan situation, it's just a money maneuver. At the end
of the day, you're trying to save as much money
as possible this year, so you can roll cap space
into next year or the second year of the russ deal,
where you know, you start to be competitive again in
Boonix's second year. So there's a there's a long term

(18:12):
outlook for some of these moves that Tim Patrick move
all that there's there's long term outlooks with with a
lot of this stuff as they're trying to burn all
the dead cap as much dead cap as they can
this year and save the space for next year. So
you know, I sort of get all that with regard
to why you move on. I mean that that is
why the emergence of vele in addition to having little

(18:37):
Jordan Humphrey is sort of the same situation. You know,
Tim Patrick was one of the most reliable receivers in
the NFL and third down just a couple of years ago,
but back to back injury years have sort of made
that situation untenable. I mean, you've got you've got two
guys that can do what he does plus Courtland Sutton,

(18:58):
and there's not a need to keep him around. And
you know, Sean Payton does want to remake the locker room,
talked about it a little bit in the last segments,
to remake it in his image, take the leadership out
of there and put his own leadership in there. That's
why guys like Kay Jack and Simmons and Ross and
Tim Patrick and Josie Joy those why of those guys
aren't here anymore, So, you know, I don't I hope

(19:23):
Tim catches on somewhere, and from what I understand from
the people I've talked to, it'll probably be traded, uh
and have somewhere else to a chance to catch on.
But you know, not shocking if you've been sort of
paying attention and seeing just how much Devon Valet has
has come on. There's a lot of people like you

(19:47):
get asked fantasy football questions about Marvin Mims and all that.
I don't think this affects Marvin Mis. Tim Patrick wasn't
going to be in that role anyway. Mims is going
to be in the role that guys like Ted Gin,
Brandon Cooks, Devarie Henderson. We're in for Sean Payton there
in New Orleans, backside of the play, taking the top off,

(20:07):
keeping the safeties honest, making sure you're you're you know,
we push you back to two high so that you
can't get in in cover one. And so that's that's
sort of his role, and there'll be some deep shot
balls for him. But I just don't know how many
opportunities are going to exist for Marvin Mims when you
have a quarterback like Bo Nicks who's more uh keen

(20:28):
on taking what defenses give him. You know, I feel
like that Bow will have a high completion percentage at
the end of the year. His his A dot average
depth of target will be rather low. I suspect, but uh,
he'll have a high completion percentage and and and be
a guy who kind of takes the underneath stuff that
you give him and keep the schedule offense on track.

(20:51):
And that's what Sean Payton wants. He wants a guy
to do that. So you know, I don't I don't
expect a high fly, high octane balls all over the field,
vertical type offense. But Mims has a skill set that
you can't ignore. I mean, you leaving him one on
one on the outside is probably a recipe for Bow.
Try to look and dial up a deep shot and

(21:12):
we'll see how often those opportunities come. I think Valet
is and little Jordan Humphreys who this move affects more,
and Valet is a guy who's going to get more
opportunities because of it. We've we've talked a little bit
about Troy Franklin, his struggles through trading camp. He struggled
to beat the jam, he struggled to hang onto balls
throwing his way, and you know, he struggled to learn

(21:36):
the offense and learn the craft of playing wide receiver.
It's not just go out there and out athlete people
and get open and catch the ball. In the pro game,
you got to learn how to gear down. You know,
you've got to learn how to gear down to shake people.
And and that's something that a lot of hyper athletic
guys don't have coming into the league. You know, they've

(22:01):
they've just been great athletes their whole life, and so
the craft of playing wide receiver is something that it
takes him a while to catch up on. Troy Franklin,
I think when he was drafted was viewed as a
year two contributor. Typically when you draft guys on day three,
that's kind of what you're hoping to get. Now, Veley
a bit of an exception since he's a twenty six
year old rookie, But you know, as far as the
rest of it goes, I mean, you look, you're hoping

(22:23):
to you're hoping to get second year production at Troy Franklin,
I don't think he's much of a contributor this year,
and I don't think that the Tim Patrick move affects
either him or Marvin Mims all that much. But you know, well,
we'll see, We'll see how that stuff shakes out. I

(22:43):
again cautiously optimistic for this team. You know, We've talked
about it over the last couple of weeks. I've got
a I've got a ticket on the over win total,
the over five and a half. I do believe they're
better than better than five wins. Somebody on Twitter made
me a wager about ten wins. I don't see that happening.

(23:04):
But you know, ball bounces your way right a couple
of times you play good defense, and you you know,
bo'se better on office that people think. Who knows, it's
entirely possible. We've seen turnarounds as of surprise people before.
Nobody thought the Texans were going to do what they
did last year. So I'm not opposed. I mean, I
want the Broncos to be good. I want them to

(23:26):
play well. Makes this job a lot easier for me.
When when things are good, people want to talk. When
things are good, they're less less app to talk when
things are bad, unless they get real bad. Then everybody
wants to talk point the finger, but I'm looking forward
to a better season. I get it that everybody's hyped
off the preseason, but I think we got to flush

(23:48):
that a little bit. There have been plenty of teams
out there. I think. I think the Detroit Lions the
year they didn't win a game, they went four to
zero in the preseason. I never got everybody excited because
they were playing ones against backups, which is a lot
of what happened this year. You know, everybody was jazzed
about stuff, but you know, Le Broncos were playing starters
against guys that are mostly getting cut right now, and
so you know, I just say, pumped the brakes of touch.

(24:09):
That's not it's not that it's going to be horrible,
or it's not that I'm projecting doom and gloom. But
what I will say is that I believe that the
results may have been a little inflated because you had
again first teamers going up against backups for large portions
of large portions of the preseason five six, six nine

(24:34):
zeros text line got a bunch of a bunch of
texts here about destinations for these guys. I think Tim
Patrick's going to either be Pittsburgh or Detroit. You could
see another team swoop in here, but those were the
two that i'd heard mentioned early on. We'll see, I
know Buffalo, you know needs receiver help, Carolina, there's teams
that need help. But the teams that I've mentioned i'd
heard mentioned earlier, Detroit and Pittsburgh with p Ryan the

(24:57):
team I kept consistently hearing with Cincinnati, and we'll see again.
We'll see if any of that shakes out, but those
were those were the early indicators with those two players.
I think this year in the run game, you're going
to see a little bit of a different setup. Last
year you had Javante is the early down back, samaj
is the third down guy, hurry up offense guy, pass catcher,

(25:21):
and Jelia McLoughlin is sprinkled in there as kind of
an explosive guy. I think Julia's role stays the same.
He might expand it a little, you know, an eight
to ten touch a game guy, but not too much
more than that. You don't want to wear him down
with plays that take away from what it is that
he brings to the table. I do think that you'll
see Audric Estime though in the early down role and
Javante moved to more of the Samaje p Ryan roll

(25:43):
by the end of the year. I think he's obviously
Giavante is a better receiver out of the backfield, and
so you're you're going to see him naturally gravitate to
those kinds of roles. Now, that doesn't mean I think
Javonte is going to be as limited in the carries
or any of those kinds of things. I just think
Audric Estime is built more to be a short ritage,
first down guy, you know, those kinds of those kinds

(26:03):
of plays that Javante is at his best, uh in
the other role, you know, this year, and I think
that that's something that they've they've looked at and they
want to fiddle around with. I still think Chavante is
going to be RB one for fantasy purposes out of
this backfield. And I think something to kind of remember
is that Sean Payton, you know, when it gets down

(26:23):
inside the five, you saw he was throwing it with Bownicks,
trying to pad the touchdown totals instead of running it
in with any of those guys. So you know what,
we'll have to keep that in mind when we look at, hey,
what's going to be the available touchdown distribution share for
fantasy football purposes? If that's what you what you what
you're into real football purposes. You know, Audric is just
built for those short yarded situations. You know, he doesn't

(26:45):
have that third gear like what Jalil has, but he
is powerful. He's allowed to bring down and so on
early downs when you're trying to get a little bit
of space for that for that second and third down play,
you know, running him and getting three or four is
you know, really helps out and opens up the playbook
on those those later downs. For a guy like Javonte

(27:08):
to come in, who's who's a little bit more versatile,
it offers you a little bit more. I'm not saying
Audrey Corn eventually become that guy, but for right now,
that just sort of looks like, excuse me, it looks
like where looks like where he is looking around at
some other things that happened over the course of the day.
Titans backup quarterback Malik Willis is on the move. The

(27:32):
Titans traded Malik Willis to the Green Bay Packers for
a twenty twenty five seventh round draft pick. Willis hasn't
been able to translate into accurate passing through two years
in Tennessee. He's going to back up Jordan love Now
and Green Bay Packers view him as an upgrade over
there to other quarterbacks on the roster, to the Broncos

(27:53):
Saw just a few weeks ago, and Sean Clifford and
Michael Pratt. As a college quarterback at Liberty, will has
showed off decent arm strength and athleticism. At times he
was discussed as a potential top ten draft pick. Questions
about his accuracy saw saw him go much much later.
In two years in Tennessee, he never accomplished much, completed

(28:13):
thirty five of sixty six passes for three hundred and
fifty yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions. In Green Bay,
he's gonna get a bit of a fresh start. I
thought it was funny because, if I remember correctly, at
Malik Willis's first snap might have been against the Broncos.

(28:34):
Maybe I'm wrong on that. I thought I have to
go back and look. But I thought the first snap
was like some fake play again and he fumbled, And
maybe I'm wrong on that, and I have to go
back and look. But I just remember that he coughed
the ball up in a play that I thought was
against the Broncos, and it's uh, I don't know. It's
just been not exactly the same ever since. The Philadelphia

(28:54):
Eagles have released a few, including defensive back Parry Nickerson,
who feels it figures to be coveted out there in
terms of somebody that teams will pick up. The Eagles
also released quarterback Will Greer. Greer had signed with Philadelphia
in March, joining his former offensive Cordnaor Kellen Moore. They
both work together with the Cowboys. The Eagles have Kenny

(29:17):
Pickett and Tanner McKee on the roster at quarterback behind
Jalen Hurts to run Kellen Moore's offense. This year. The Cardinals,
who the Broncos played on Sunday, let go of six players.
That leaves them at eighty five. Although we all know
that wide receivers Z Jones is going to be on
the suspended list Tuesday, so that's one less move they'll
need to make in the interim wide receiver Daylan Baldwin,

(29:40):
linebacker Chris Garrett, corner Delante Hood, safety Verona McKinley, and
corner Michael Ojamoudia, former Broncos corner offensive lineman Austin Pleasants
were on Monday's cuts. All of those players other than
Hood have appeared in regular season games, so it looks
like I have to find some new homes. But Ojamudia,
who briefly had some save energy here with the Broncos,

(30:02):
ultimately now struggling to find a home around the league.
The Bearers waived nine players to get down to seventy eight.
Receiver John Jackson, receiver Peter le Blanc, offensive lineman Jenteer Carter,
offensive linean Jerom Carvin, defensive lineman Michael dwumfour Jalen Hutchings
also a defensive lineman, linebacker Paul M. Mowaller, linebacker Javon White,

(30:26):
and safety Quinnel Johnson. None of those players are on
the coveted list. It looks like out there just as
they keep and continue to whittle down, which is not
surprising for a team that did not finish well last season.
Kansas City waved corners Miles Battle quarterback Ian Book, who
is the only currently the only quarterback to have ever

(30:49):
started a game as a rookie for Sean Payton quarterback
Eco Boyu Doe, receiver Philip Brooks, defenseman Owen Carnate to
tackle Alex Gubner, corner Kelvin Joseph, guard Griff McDowell, long
snapper Raid and Platner, receiver Kyle Sheets, tight end Jorquarias Spivey,

(31:10):
and guard Nick Torres. The book waving had been previously reported,
but officially happened today. Those looking at the Saints to
see if Sean Payton wants to import even more players,
probably not seeing anybody they want. The team announced that
it released offensive lineman Anderson Hardy, defensive back Kyler McMichael,
and kicker Matthew Wright this afternoon. The Steelers signed Right

(31:32):
for a fourth time back in April. Originally signed with
the team after going undrafted in twenty nineteen. Returned to
the team the next year after a brief stint in
the XFL. Made all four field goals, all seven extra points,
and he tried in three games that season, and then
returned for four more games while Boswell was injured in
twenty twenty two. Right was twelve of fourteen field goals
in that stint, and he's forty of forty seven in

(31:54):
a career that also seen him kick for the Jags, Panthers,
and Chiefs. His departure means Boswell again was going to
kick for the Steelers. Hollywood Brown and Josh Williams were
the only Chiefs to miss practice on Monday. People eyeballing
the Hollywood Brown stuff. The Patriots announced fourteen cuts, parting

(32:16):
ways with long snapper Tucker Addington, wide receiver Kawan Baker,
vitz Van William, Bradley King, tackle Josiah Bronson, linebacker, Steel Chambers,
running back to Sean Fenwick corner as he's herne tackles,
Ury Henry, defensive end Christian McCarroll, tight end Michael Pettway,
senator Charles Turner, corner Mikey Victor, and tight end Jacob Warren.
None of those players fear to be priority type players

(32:40):
on the hurry for other teams to pick up Trent
Williams says he will not report to the Niners until
his contract is adjusted. Niners are already dealing with issues
trying to get Brandon Ayuk to re sign Brandon excuse me.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports Williams is not going to
return to the team until his contract is adjusted. That
means the Niners could be without him for the Week

(33:00):
one game against the Jets here in two weeks. Williams
is set to make twenty point oh five million this year,
twenty two point five and twenty twenty five, and thirty
two point one to twenty twenty six. None of those
are guaranteed. The Niners have not seen Williams since the
end of the twenty twenty three season, as he skipped
the offseason program, including mandatory Mini caamp, all of training
camp and the preseason, and he is a crueling daily
fines that the team cannot by rule. Wave coach Kyle

(33:24):
Shannah had said five days ago he hoped to deal
with close. The Niners list Jalen Moore as the backup
left tackle. Moore has seven starts in three seasons. Williams,
of course, has made the old Pro List last three
seasons and eleven consecutive Pro Bowls, not counting twenty nineteen,
when he missed the season in a dispute with the
Washington then Football team now Commanders Brandon Ayuk For he

(33:46):
is part the Niners do have a deal in front
of him, one that averages just north of thirty million
average per year, although with the Ceedee Lamb contract now
at thirty four that may change things. It remains to
be seen where the leverage point is here, because Ayuk,
based on that number, would seem to have the leverage.
But you're sitting here at cutdown day when the market
is about to be flooded with cut wide receivers. Nobody

(34:08):
at Ayuk's talent level, however, so it's interesting to see
how the Niners will come out of this one, if
they nudge the number higher at all, or if they
just stick to their guns and Ayuk is left ostensibly
without a market. We'll see. Obviously, the Steelers, Patriots and
Browns had inquired at different times. The Steelers offered a
second and third rounder, but that offered not accepted by

(34:29):
the forty nine ers. As the Broncos get closer, I
want to hear you guys thoughts on Tim Patrick in
cut A lot of shock, a lot of disdain for that,
but you know not, I wouldn't say entirely surprising, just
somewhat sad, as it's a new era for the Broncos
and hopefully this team's winning helps people forget about guys

(34:49):
like Simmons and Tim Patrick as they go on elsewhere
