Speaker 1 (00:00):
Here's the pitch. Swinging a fly ball to right field,
pretty well, hit freelick back at the wall.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
He jumps. That's gone hate hate, Dada payt Alonzo with
the most memorable home run of his career.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Pops as fast as a round second. That's a three
run of homer.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
He's given the Mets a three to two lad They
all pour out of the dugout pistol formation motion Man Mooney,
the throw from Cousins, it's caught at the forty, moving
up field, Hodge, he could go ten five touch down there.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
He's a winner for the Atlanta Falcons.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Welcome to it, Broncos Country tonight, Budge with all, Brian Dick, Ferguson,
Grant Smith. I'm about to walk off last night for
Cadaryl Hodge turned the Jets on house in that ball.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Yeah, that was an exciting play.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
In the whole idea was set up because Drake London
took a shot right before that and he had to
exit the game and Cadell Hodge, look, he only had
two targets. That game ended up being a touchdown and
it was a simple formation when you think about it,
it was kind of a curl flat. He was running
the curl and you had someone else running the flat.
(01:09):
And the problem was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defenders. They
broke the car new rule of pursuit. You never follow
your same jersey and look the corner, missed, missed the
play right and and no disrespect to him. Those type
of things happened, but you need the other guys to
help out. And it's not like Hodge ran outside the numbers.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
He ran in the middle to the ran right. Then
he just turned around.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
It was like, there's the post and ran to it
and I'm thinking, like, someone's gonna catch you.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Nope, nope, I thought it at first.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
The first two steps, I was like, somebody's gonna catch
and then I was like, oh, he just turned the
he hit the afterburners.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Thanks to w hs Q for the audio. We don't
forget Peter Lazzo.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yes, I mean we were sitting there watching the game
and uh, the Brewers jumped out, you know, like they
hit like two home.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
I was back to bat and you can see the
Mets fans were just like all deflated.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
And when I looked back up, I was like, oh,
what just happened.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yeah, they were calling peel Anzo a fraud like midway
through that and uh and then by the end he
was the you know, he went from the goat to
the goat, yes, and just saying thanks to the WHSK
and West would want on both those calls. It was
just a bigger win for the Falcons or a bigger
loss for the Buccaneers.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
I think it was a.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Bigger loss for the Buccaneers because Baker didn't even get
a chance to touch the football, right. And I granted
this was this was a great NFC South matchup, and
it's gonna come down to those two teams, but this
was a game that I felt though Baker and the
Bucks started out well because when you look at Mike Evans,
(02:48):
who was hot then he had like two touchdowns in
the game, and I thought, Okay, well, this is gonna
be one of those games where Baker Mayfield and Mike
Evans they're about.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
To like this up.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
But then slowly but surely, the Falcons kept hanging around
your guy young Wayku.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Something because you know, I thought, for a minute there,
I thought he was trying to tell Sugar Shane Falco
with the mob.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
He was into the mob for some money. The way
he was missing kicks.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
I don't know, but you know, it was kind of
frustrating to watch as a football fan because I don't
know about you, but I thought with the guy like
her Cousins, who is a volume passer, in my opinion,
that with Dack Robinson being the OC coming from Sean
mcvay's tree, ultimately shut Mike Shanahan tree. I thought the
(03:38):
offense was going to be more explosive, but it was
really methodical, and we saw a consertive effort to get
Kyle Pitt's involved in the game. And we're sitting there
going like, yep, look like they're trying to build up
that trade value really quickly by targeting him as much.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
As they did.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
But for me, I thought it was a game that
the Bucks should have won that they didn't win.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
There were some missed opportunities for the Falcons as well
to really put that thing away at multiple points. I
love the way they're moving Drake London into the slot
and using him a sort of the heavy slot guy.
He finished the game there with twelve receptions for one
hundred and fifty four yards and a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
And how about Mooney.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
That's kind of funny how people leave the Bears and
all of a sudden they get good. They used to
tell me Darnel Mooney was a problem in Chicago. He's
a problem last night, but he's a problem for the
Bucks defense.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Well a Falcons fans who I've spoken to, they were
a little upset with him when he had that curl
run at twelve and it hit him rid in the hands,
and it was just like, oh, that could have been
the game.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
You could have but he got You.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Got saved by he got bailed out by the sixteen
targets for Mooney. By the way, they hit sixteen targets
for money. They had eight targets for pits, seven catches
eighty eight yards, Candrot Hodge course the two targets two
catches sixty seven and a tunny Ray Ray McLeod nine targets,
six receptions sixty six yards.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
They were throwing the ball over the place. Kirk Cousin
fifty eight passing.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Attempts in that game, finished five hundred and nine yards,
four touchdowns and the interception good god, yeah, but what
was the.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Game defense for the Falcons come through?
Speaker 1 (05:04):
I think the Jesse Bates.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Well, the mistake of the game was intercepting the ball
in fourth town Lavani David should have not got thing
to the.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Ground well intercepted with the ball. He cost them.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Fifteen yards and then they got the penalties. Told have
backed them flat out of field. But range I would
have won the game. Well, I mean defensively, if you
see the ball in flight, you know you're not thinking
about all those things.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Movie. That's football, Like you want to want fourth down,
knock it down, knock it down. N See, that's great
for you to say right now if.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
You are the time you would have grabbed the ball down.
You gonna bat the ball down. Matter of fact, I'll
tell you to break. I got a situation where that occurred.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Okay, definitely definitely tell me that. But defensively, Jesse Bates
came through with the play of the day punching the
ball out of Bucky.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Yes, and Irving has been the They got to get
him the ball more. Tampa just does not get him
the ball enough. He's their most explosive running back.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Well, you want to talk about a guy and not
getting the ball, how about BJ Robinson.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
He's John Robinson.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
He's not getting the ball for some And I can't
believe this is week five and he only has one
rushing touchdown all season long.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
It seemed like it's a.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Duplication of what Arthur Smith did not do last season
as the fucons and coaching.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Oc Yeah, and then I feel like, situationally, they're not
using them right because Bijean that there are times he
needs a ball more. And then you had Tyler two
yards Algier who was you know who's getting six catches
and Share six carries three catches. They both got three
targets on the game. Robinson finished sixteen yards, he finished thirteen.
But Robinson averaged five point one on the game. Now,
part of that was bullied by that twenty eight yard carry,
(06:34):
but he is more explosive than Algier. Algiers a pile over.
He's a short yardage guy. What are you doing giving
him volume carries in the open field? Gifts be selected,
be better, be more judicious in your rotation.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Well, see, this is.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
The complication and the frustration for me watching the game
last night, but also watching other games.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Around the league.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
When you know certain players have a certain skill set,
you have to cater to that skill set. You know,
stop trying to stick a circle in a round, I
mean a square in.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
A round home. We're bagging around home. There you go,
stop trying.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
To do that and just say, okay with this guy
is excellent at doing these things and put that game
plan together because at the end of the day, the
players are the one out.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
There executing right, They're the ones.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
This is why when you look at Kirk Cousins, Kurt
is not a very mobile guy.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
He never was, right, so he is.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
If you are off as a coordinator and you want
that traditional pocket passer, that's who Kirk Cousin is. And
like when I look at bow Knicks, that's who bow Nicks.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
He's not right. Can he do it? Yes?
Speaker 3 (07:38):
But should you put him in that situation between the
tackles thirty to forty times a game, I say no,
Move the.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Pocket a little bit, Hilow, haffield, Hilow reads and he
can take off and use his legs if he wants to,
you know, make make things easier on it that way. Guys,
real quick, here, we got two pairs at least to
get away. Get to give away one right now, two
pairs though, for the show, so keep listening. Great American
Beer Fest on October eleventh, with a pair of passer's
the Great American Beer Fest Friday session October eleventh. You
can get passes a Great American Beer Festival dot comedy
(08:05):
collor four right now three or three seven three eighty
five eighty five three or three seven three eighty five.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Eighty five you get a pair of passes to the
Great American Beer Fest.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
You don't win these ones. I got some more for
you later on in the show. Oh, we got the
beer sounder right off the bat there, look at that.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
I love that. I Uh, I remember last year? Did
you were you down there at all?
Speaker 2 (08:22):
It was me and Coach Paggs. I can't remember if
you were done or not? Early off the No, no, no,
I was. I missed that one. Me and Coach PAGs were, Uh,
we're down there for the great bro. He called me
this week. You got go you guys going to the
Great American Beer Fest.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Come back. I'll tell him I got COVID, I'll come back.
We had some fun at that. What I'm just saying.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Well, and look, oh, and the Commanders have a big
game coming up against the Cleveland Brown So I don't know,
it would be good to see the.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Way Cleveland's playing. They may not need well, they have been.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
They have been a mess on offense, and it's time
to start asking some questions about the seat.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Watson, Yeah, I think so. My whole team was give
it one more game and see what happens.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
You can go to Ken Stefanski's mantra for about twelve
games now.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Well.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Also keep this in mind, that offense, like any other offense,
works well with a proven.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Run game right and right right.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
So the idea is that once you make the decision,
make sure that you have exhausted everything that you can
before you make that decision. So maybe you want to
do it maybe one or two games after Nick Chubb
is gotten his feet wet in the running game, to
give your offense a real look.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
We've got a big show up for you, guys that
I have anybon SENIORI is going to join us here
in the next hour.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Go behind in me.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Last talk about those talk about those Raiders. The Raiders
today ruled out Davonte Adams, MaTx Crosby though looks like
he might be playing in this when this last two
days of practice, but he's back on the field today.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Raiders happened Listed is questionable.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Adams, of course won't be playing Listed with the hamstring injury.
And then there's also so you got there Munford with
the knee in the ankle corner to Cameron Richardson with
a hamstring. Michael Mayer is out with personal reasons. Trey
Taylor or the safety we've had on the show before,
he's got a knee issue running back some Mere White
gonna be out with a growing issue. Luke Masterson with
the knee issues out, Divine Diablo is questionable. That's their
(10:17):
best linebacker, Canaim Mauga this is questionable, Dylan Parram and
Achilles questionable, and wide receiver Tarik McAllister's got a shoulder
all questionable. They are The Raiders are limping into this thing,
both figurative Leanne literally. The Broncos, on the other hand,
look pretty healthy outside of Tyn of today.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Damn, that sounded like a mass unit. I'm him there's
more names on here.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
I was just like, you know what, I'm tired of
reading off names and all the the health problems that
the Raiders have right now.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
You seems like you know earlier in the show you
reference the replacements and in Flacco, I'm thinking like will
coach Anthony Pierre Antonio Piers think about doing the same thing.
He's gonna need some replacement. He needs some replacements in
this one. Those covers are bare.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
I'm just saying, you know, Ray Smith Maryland State Penitentiary.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Doesn't lost the background for him.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
I love that movie like it's I mean, it's a
horrible football mean when you watching foot the football part
of it, but it's a hilarious football movie.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Gene Hackman. Yeah, Orlando Jones is Clifford Frank, Clifford Frank.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
You know one man from Only On catching only One
coming down with it, got the stick him on his hands.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
He's like, you know this still look natural?
Speaker 2 (11:20):
You know, yes, I love the replacements. Man, that's one
of my favorites. John Farmers in there so I one
of linebacks. Danny Bateman the linebacker. You get the face
on love and those guys the guards. One of those
most surprising casting decisions. I think when people go back
and look, they don't recognize that's who it is. But
the deaf tight end is uh the was it Pam
(11:40):
from the Office's original boyfriend? If you're watching The Office, yes, yeah, yes, yeah,
it's his Roy or whatever. It's like his Yeah, that's
who I mean he put on some weight by the
time the office got around, but yeah, you had a beard.
But yeah, Roy and that was the deaf guy and
uh uh in the replacement. I actually had the biggest
crush on Falco's uh love interest in that one. Yeah,
(12:00):
back in the day, I always always thought that was
interest on the visual of the distraction of the cheerleaders. Yeah, yeah,
we were at.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
You did some club work. Yeah, right out there by
the airport. Oh my god, that was that movie. I
don't know why. That movie just gets me every time.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
And then yeah, Gene Hackman, you got a serious actor
like Gene Hackman to uh to be the head coach
in that one. Took some interesting roles there before he retired.
Remember behind any lines with Owen Wilson. Okay, wait a minute,
I happened to enjoy that movie. Behind me line, it's
mindless entertainment.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
But yeah, I mean there's no there's You're not getting away.
So you try to say I'm mindless. No, I'm trying
to say I love it too.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
It's my I'm saying that there's not a message in
that movie, but it's it's it's a you know, it's
a popcorn movie.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
There was a message.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Actually, okay, I'm saying it's it's a popcorn movie, right,
It's like it's like watching Transforms. There's no, it's a
popcorn movie, you know. But yes, but I enjoyed it.
All action, basically, all action, all gas, no filler. There
you go, There you go, the typical guy movie.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Yeah, look at that movie. Don't get me wrong, it's
on I'm watching it. Uh We used to. We had
a copy.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
It was one of like five movies we had when
I was in a rack, because we we had we
only had when we when I first got to a
rack back in uh uh o three, we had Joe
Dirt Finding Nemo and this and the Second Matrix Movie.
The only DVDs we had right here was DVD's back then, the.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Only ones we had, And so we watched those movies
on rotation.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
And then somebody sent us out another batch and I
think that was one of them. And I'm trying to
remember what else it was, but we had we had
five movies for.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Like eight months, which what are we watched?
Speaker 4 (13:38):
I could watch Joe Dirt every day from the.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
There you Go.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Yeah, I used to like I could do you could
do the movie you know, like I could all the
all the lines memorized because we've seen it so many times.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
All right, Okay, I'm gonna go to a good, total
opposite direction and throw the listeners in both you.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
And Grant off. So here to movie you have.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
To throw into your your movie catalog. Okay, Love actually, yes, right?
Speaker 1 (14:05):
And I keep trying to tell Ryan Edwards and you
won't watch it. And the Notebook okay, now you had
you had me in Love. Actually you lost me at
the Notebook. What's wrong with the Notebook?
Speaker 2 (14:14):
It sucks, predictable, wanna be fun of what they were
not trying to kind of stall you out.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
And and it wasn't like Kinzo SoSE type of movie.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
It wasn't every but the Notebook was about love something.
Once again, we're talking to the wrong.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
Person exactly, Jordan Love. Yes, he hates love, so he
doesn't get it.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
If you're driving around Denver, Colorado right now.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
You listening to us, if you haven't seen Love, actually
it's a great holiday movie, so definitely check that out.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
But also note the Notebook, like if you are a guy,
I'm with you. I We're trying to get Ryan to
watch that movie for years and you won't do it
because I do all the Billy mac quotes. Yes, you know,
like and like.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
He does not get the references what I make them.
When he said there, well, because I tried to get
him to watch it forever, he wouldn't watch it, Like
when he used to be in that chair and I
tried to get him watch a movie and he wouldn't
watch it.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
It's something about that movie that Ryan knows. Because I
always think we're expecting a late stage.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
You know, we're talking about the voting for the Christmas number,
and he has no clue what I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
See, I believe Ryan knows something about love actually that
he just doesn't want to watch because it may be
it may force him to tap into the more emotional side.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
Of who he is. We all know how he is.
The book is lot's in this movie? Yeah, yes, I
just think the lack of But you haven't, Karenoy, But
you have to watch The Notebook seriously. I was then.
I was just like you. I was just like you,
(15:45):
and the movie changed me. It changed the Notebook. It
gave me a different notebook, changed you the Notebook. I'd
see Kathy Walker back there in the news d if you.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Watch the note it's the notebook. Oh she's running away
from the microphone right now. She just not went in
this conversation. I'm just kidding.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Have you seen the noteboo? Have you seen love actually
in the Notebook? No, you've never seen either one?
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Needs are Oh my goodnesss Okay, first of all, we
want to do guys.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Do you like a loser? I know when it counts
to movies, I don't like the Notebook though.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
It's it's no, I'm trying to lead the witness here aproved.
It's all right for you gotta get okay, we got
to give you to watch those movies. I'm just saying
Ryan refused to watch them, and I can't have these
conversations because I'm making goods from it and nobody gets
the quotes.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
And then I feel like the loser. Grant step in here,
help her brother out. Have you seen both those movies?
Seen both those movies? Love both those movies? Thank you
actually actually?
Speaker 4 (16:36):
And hey, if you can't get in touch with your
feelings as a man, Ben, that's okay.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
I get in touch with my feelings. I just don't
think Notebook very good.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
Just never forget that Ryan Gosling was a liability quarter.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Liability and remember the title get pity in there right now.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
But I mean, I just did not think that. I
didn't think the Notebook was very good. I like James Garner,
like Rachel McAdams, like Ryan Gosling.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
But once again we understand the basis of why you
did not get that movie. The movie did not pull
at your heartstrings because just like the drench.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
You have no heart. You know what?
Speaker 2 (17:10):
You know what movie made me cry? I am Sam,
I am Sam. Sean Dedden is the development of the
disabled's father.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
I didn't see that. Oh you gotta see, man, Get
get a box of clean ex.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Like what's eating Gilbert Great? Get a box of cleanex.
All I'm saying you can be alone. You an't want
people to see cry as a man be alone. I'm
just saying we can discuss it during the break Broncos
Country Tonight.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Welcome back to it, Broncos Country Tonight.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Benjamin Olbrighten, Nick Ferguson, Grant Smith here with you. Well,
you're trying to say I talk crap about love actually
and the Notebook, But I just talk crap about the Notebook.
By the way, the text lines like me up for this.
The Notebook is a damn good movie, Jason as they should.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
Light you up.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Three sixcels is The Breakup is a surprisingly good, almost
non rong coupy that wasn't pretty good like Vince.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Vaughan and Jennifer Aniston. Yes, the scene where he's sitting there, like, I.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Felt like that moment captured the men and women DIVI
where you talking about the lemons and the vase because.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
He's like flabber gay. He's like, I didn't know you
wanted twelve at the three I didn't.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Know, you know, And it just captures the divide between women,
men and women so well.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
The scene where they're talking about their family members.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
At the dinner table, Yeah, we can't talk about that.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Then everybody's talking draft to the kid on the on
the PlayStation or whatever.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
I know, everybody's like, uh okay.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
So this is basically they just took Ben and followed
a video camera around and then put it in this movie.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Yeah, the breakup was pretty good. I liked that. I
just the Notebook was not, uh not for me.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
The three or three says Joe dirtis epic, even has
Dennis Miller during his Monday Night football time.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
It did. I like Dennis Miller, we used to on
Monday Night Football.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
I think a lot of those jokes were too high
brow for most of the audience. I would say, for
you know, I've just been I mean, because Dennis Miller
was always a really smart guy, was he?
Speaker 3 (18:50):
That that falls right on the line of like Tommy Boy, right, Like,
I don't know about you guys, but I love Tommy Boy.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Yeah, that's one of my favorite movies.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Fat gush, Yeah, great movie. Yeah, it's I mean, there
were some of those Dennis Miller quotes from from back
in the day, like is I don't think people were
just well, I don't think people were ready for that.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
But Dennis Miller was different as a comedia so yeah,
but I mean.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Some of the jokes were good, like like is it
the opening broadcast they had the Hall of Fame game
or whatever, and it was Patriots Niners in Canton, Ohio.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
And Miller turns around.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Says to Al Michaels, if there's anybody in the stadium
more pumped up than me, they wouldn't pass the league's
drug test.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Like I'm like, that's funny, that's good stuff.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
You know.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Uh, but there were some of them that I was like,
you know, I don't know if people are I don't
know if people are getting this one.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
The August sixth and the somebody asked them about the
XFL and he said people were calling NBC asking him
to run the movie Heidi, And I don't think people
remember Heidi enough to you know, to do that. Remember
the replacement refs yes, and uh yeah, And he's like,
I'm a little worried about the caliber of replacement ref.
I saw Ian Woosnam's caddies name on the list, Like,
people won't get that reference. Yeah, you know they once
(20:05):
again see the maid replacements reference because he was talking
about the Skins Cowboys back then when they were both wingless.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
This was October fifteen, two thousand and one. He said, uh,
the one that.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
Topped this, Keanu Reeves had a nice game that night
talking about the replacement.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Yes, so we see that's one. That's the brilliance of
Dennis Miller, that he's going to say things that kind
of go over people's head. And only if you are
paying attention, and you are, I guess up to dat.
On worldly advanced, some of those things would make sense.
But it goes back to you got to know your audience. Yeah,
just like you have to know your audience. In the
(20:38):
text line is letting you know they had a.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
Blowout game and he was like start blow drying Ted
Copple's hair because this one's done. Because Copple used to
do Nightline after the you know, and so they were
like they were I thought it was funny. I thought
that Dennis Miller thing was funny. But I think a
lot of people. The biggest bust I thought on Monday
in football was.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
The Rush Limbaugh thing. I didn't get that one at all.
That went over like a lead balloon.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
See that's that's was at a point where you're reaching
for something that's not there.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
They were looking for a third any third party that was,
you know, and it just did I don't know, it
just didn't work for me. I mean, take the politics
out of it.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
I didn't think that. It was just it just didn't
work for me. Neither does the notebook. Well yeah, but
that's different, Rush Limbaugh. I just didn't get it.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
The notebook, it just sucks out loud five six six
nine zeros. In text line, you guys can tell me
where I'm at somebody said, what's the name of the
lake that's being drained and where's it located.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
I'm assuming it's a news story. I don't know. I
don't know. Uh.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
We did have somebody who said, you guys are unreal
three h three. You think the Raiders are just gonna
come in here roll over like they're not gonna bring
everybody everything. Nobody's above the shield. Antonio Pears is a
great coach. You guys gonna have your hands full. You
better get ready for Sunday. You're gonna get punched in
the mouth. Carolina was a.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Wake up call. Broh, you lost to the worst team
in the league. That better be a wake up call.
Andy Dalton and the worst roster in the league boat
raced you.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
But see, that's why I said the other night that
this is a bona fide even with all of those
guys injured.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
I think that game it is. They got it.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Much like there are a few teams this week, and
you know I have talked about this. I think they
had their backs against the wall. I think the Raiders
are one of them. I don't think Antonio Pears a
particularly great coach. I think he's a good motivator. I
don't know that he's a great coach. We haven't seen
that yet. We saw them put together a good run
last year.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
But sometimes in situations like this, when you're back is
against the.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Walls, this is what the games.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Yes, this is when the new Rockney speech comes out, right,
it's us versus them, only guys. I can get it
done on the guys in this room. So let's go
out there, take the field, and it's gonna take this game.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Because no one's expecting us to do it.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
I can see Antonio Peers doing that and having players
who maybe second and third tier players get so excited
about the opportunity right to defeat the Broncos at home
on Alumni weekend. I know, if I'm coaching four or
the Raiders, I'm gonna use.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
That they did the Shanahan take when Shanahan was getting
the ring. You bet your backside they did, yes, you know,
And it was one.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
Of those because I was down there on the field.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
I remember, I was walking on the backside of the
Raiders bench.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
And you could they were talking about it. We're gonna
spoil it.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
You know, And I'm not gonna say all with the
derogatory things they said about Mike Shanahan, but they were
absolutely there to spoil that.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
But that is enough of a motivation to go out
there because it's actually worked on our behalf. When I
played for the Broncos, I didn't need Mike Shanahan or
anyone to tell me the story about how how the
money on the money. I mean, it's like when I
came in from the Jets, it's like people were whispering
about and it's like, what are they talking about? And
(23:44):
you find out about it, But it wasn't discussed amongst.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
The players, but we all knew. So when we played
the Raiders, you want to go get that for Couch?
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Yes, that was always in the back of our minds.
So Antonio Pierce could use that, and they're right. The
text is right. The Raiders are not going to come
here NFL football team. I'm not treating this like a breeze.
I don't think we were to the Texter's point. I
don't think that we were treating it like the Broncos
are going to come in here role. But I think
that the potential exists for that. When you're short handled
like that, it's tough. Your best player's hurt.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
He's got a high.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Ankles Bray, Max Crosby's questionable for this game, your best
offensive players out, DeVonta Adams and asking for a trade.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
Well, he has.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Alleged hamstring injury.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
That's what it's being called. Ain't nothing hurt. But his
bride brols out of there on out, then I get it.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
But once again, it's still one of those things where
you know the players are playing for jobs now. And
I know it's earlier this season to say that, but
it is true. If things have fallen apart with the
Raiders and all you need is a couple of good plays,
string a couple of good pay plays together and try
to galvanize the team. And we've seen the Broncos play
in really tight, close games and some of the games
(24:52):
they pulled out, some of the games they didn't.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
So the Raiders are thinking, well, hey, we.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
Let one get away against the Panthers to try to
beat the Panthers to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
I can easy to see that being a mentality. Yeah,
I can totally see it. I don't think that.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
I don't think the Broncos are overlooking the Raiders. And
I don't mean to put it in that way. I mean,
but the Raiders have struggled this year. You know, they
got spanked by the Chargers, they got spanked by the Panthers.
They found a way to beat the Browns who were reeling,
and then they snuck one out against the Ravens who
started the season.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
That's just weird.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Like I don't want to take away from the Raiders
win over the Ravens, which I'm sort of doing here,
but at the same time, the Ravens aren't the same
Ravens team that played Buffalo last week.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Like they finally figured it out, and figure it out.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
I mean, you can look at the first couple of
games and see they just didn't know how to run
Derek Henry behind that line. Henry's used to being lined
up in the eye, and they got him in the
gun and it was it was a whole different. He's
figured it out now, and they figured it out now,
and everybody in the leagu should look out.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Well, the idea for the Denver Broncos, especially on the
defensive side of the ball, at the beginning of the game,
you just cut all of that out. I mean, you
just run downhill you make tackles, you impose your will
on ball carriers and receive, and you make sure that
they feed you like they feel excuse me, and you
feed off the energy of the crowd, because the crowd
is going to be very energetic. And that's how you
(26:10):
make the Raiders break their sword. You make them think
that no matter what they try, trick player or not,
it is not.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Going to work.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
This would be an excellent game to just smash Raiders'
hopes and just kind of make them just start turning
on one another as they're going back into the locker
room and halftime.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Yeah, I mean, and if it's me, that's how we're
approaching that. We're approaching it with a power downhill game
to start. We're punching them in the mouth. We're playing
with tempo, coming out that first start and showing them, hey,
where the Denver Broncos' you're here to play us? You
know that kind of thing. Forget that streak, that's that's
in the past. Well, we'll see what they do. You
guys are some weirdos on these rom comms. Man, I
don't understand it. I don't get it. The notebook was terrible,
(26:50):
you know, I know it was terrible because that dude
never directed anything.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Of note Again, who cares about that? Because if you're
a good movie, the director is going to keep getting jobs.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
Dude, you're overthinking this entire idea and concept. We're talking
about the movie itself, the concept itself.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Yeah, I wouldn't buy in the concept. Whatever. Man, I'm
just saying, it's not my thing? Why why do I
even try it with you? I gotta hate, Yes, I
can hate in my heart.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
That's exactly what. That's why I said, made the comra, write.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
My own rom com.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
Wait a minute, wait, wait, wait, wait wait, does not
believe in love is going to write a rom cop
and think about it?
Speaker 1 (27:34):
Is the guy who directed the Notebook?
Speaker 2 (27:36):
He would think he would be able to write it
because he wrote blow did Johnny Dead movie?
Speaker 1 (27:39):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (27:39):
He wrote that movie, but that but that was about
what about narcotics?
Speaker 1 (27:45):
You think? Did you like that movie?
Speaker 2 (27:46):
He wrote a good movie. Did you like that movie?
I thought it was well done. Yes, But you don't
like the Notebook? Go figures. I'm just saying I didn't like.
That's not necessarily that I like narcotics. I just thought
that movie was not saying that saying that either.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
But I'm just saying saying The narcotics movie Blow was
drama Field, and I get drama, and I like drama,
but this one was more about love and the love
of another human being, and loving that human being is
such a way that you were willing to go to
(28:19):
certain heights that you had never thought before. See Grant
as a merried guy. How long have you been married?
Speaker 4 (28:26):
Now?
Speaker 1 (28:26):
Grant? Over a year? Now? Okay, year and a half.
You can feel what I'm feeling.
Speaker 4 (28:31):
No matter what life throws at you, no matter what
separates you from a time in your life, you still
find your way back to one.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
Another movie was.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Literally an excuse to get Ryan gosling in the rain
with a shirt off. See right now it starts to
make sense, see because he saw gossiping about his shirt.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
And then go, oh, you know it's a little different.
I can't watch this movie. Yes, not comingtable enough.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
You can't even get a guy his number to get
him on the show as.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
It's a it's consistent portrait of the male, the male physique.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
You know what, you know what, Ben, I think to
kind of break you down, right, I can't even keep
this bit up to you to make you more software
around the edges.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
Maybe maybe that may not be the rom com for you.
Just like I said, I loved Love. Actually I like
that movie. I just don't like to know. Maybe it's
Along King Polly for you. I don't remember that one.
Which one is that with Ben Stiller? Yes, White Chocolate? Oh, yes, Okay,
that's yes. So that's all I'm trying to think of that.
What's the best?
Speaker 2 (29:39):
What's a good love story movie that I liked? I'm
Far and Away. That's Tom Cruise, Nicole Kibben.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Okay, You've Got Mail? Yeah, I mean that's a that's
a remake of a movie from.
Speaker 4 (29:50):
The nineteen fifty ten Things I Hate About You.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
That's a remake of Taming of the Shrew Settle. How
does it matter if it's a remake? Well, I just
the original story. This is what I'm talking about. Here's
a guy who's overthinking it. It was a remade from
nineteen seventy five. Who cares?
Speaker 4 (30:07):
Does that mean?
Speaker 1 (30:07):
A star is born?
Speaker 4 (30:08):
Was not good? The extra four times that got made
after the original.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
I watched any of them? Oh Man, the Woman, Bradley Cooper,
Lady Heaven. I'm gonna go see the I'm gonna go
see The Joker too with Lady Gaga. I can't wait
to see that movie. So we'll see if that's any good.
We'll see if that's a good love story whatever, it
would be my up more more up your alleys.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
I mean, you know, you don't talk about the craziness
the great love stories, you know, like Deadpool two.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
I'm trying. I can't even hat this off.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
I'm cracked. I'm cracking myself on this. I'm trying to
like straight faced to act like man, I can't even
keep this spread. Well, I am trying to think of
the I am trying to think of like great love
story movies off the top my head and nothing. It's
like coming to mind, which is sad.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Yeah, that that that is kind of bad.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
Well we just gave you four or five and you
shot them all Down's funny.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
But you know, I didn't watch The Stars Born. I'm
trying to think of, like, you know, trying to think
I watched that.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
I would be like, yeah, that what what was the
movie with Nicholas Cage where he was.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
He was an angel? City of Angels? But Meg Ryan, yes,
that was a good one. That wasn't bad. Okay, that
wasn't bad. City of Angels, oh not bad. And you
got it not bad out of it. I mean we're
getting there.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
I mean that's that's okay, a little stripe, but you know,
and it had the guy from My PD Blue des Friends.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Your heart just is a lump of cold, That's what
it is at all. Talk about the.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Great love stories between John McLean and Holly McClain die
Hard one.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
This is like, no, if you gotta go down that road,
you might as well throw Troy in.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
Troy as a as a love story.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
I mean it is, but not in the way you
think it probably not in the way we want to
talk about the show. It's a love story, I have
the way I look at it. I'm just saying, we
gotta hit a break. We get back to the back
of the row. We'll get back to Broncos Raiders talk.
You listen to Broncos Country Night
