Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're back here on Broncos Country tonight.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
I'm philm Malani felling in for Benjamin Alright here with
Nick Ferguson.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Nick.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
We ended the last segment talking about bo Nicks and
his some of his fundamentals. He didn't seem to have
too much of a problem getting the ball with Troy Franklin.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
No, he did not at all, his former Oregon Doug teammate.
And I was waiting until this evolution of the offense
actually took place, and who would have thought that it
would have happened on a short week. But I was
happy to see it because it appeared as though Troy Franklin,
after dropping that pass I believe in that Raiders game,

(00:40):
seemed to have made his way into the doghouse a
little huh. But I think out of necessity because a
very few offensive weapons that he was thrust into action.
And I would dare say, Phil, based on what I
saw the last night and just going back and watching
watching the film, that seemed to be a that's the
sort of effort to get Troy Franklin involved with the offense.

(01:04):
It started by giving motioning him and that's something that
we don't really see a lot in Sean Payton's offense
pre sing that motion and then trying to dumb it
to him in the flat. And the first thing I said, well,
they're trying to get him some easy catches. And by
getting Troy Franklin some easy catches, now you build up
his confidence, and the confidence in the player also trickles

(01:27):
down to the confidence and play calls as well. So
we saw Troy Franklin being one of those targets. But
what we also saw is or we didn't see, no
Courtland sudden. Now Courtland had one target, but it was
called back due to a penalty, so that wipe that off.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
So he ended the game with no targets, no yards.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
That is interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
I mean you think about like this Bronco's arsenal of
weapons or maybe the lack of weapons. You would think that, hey,
Corlin's at least getting eight nine targets, but to not
have any whether the Saints just taking them away or
do you think it's more of what the Broncos were
trying to do.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Well, for me, it looked as though more of what
the Broncos were trying to do. And then also you
factor in, you know, what boul was doing himself, because
when we look at every play, every possession there there
is a number given.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
To each receiver.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Either he's a primary secondary or maybe he may be
the third guy in the progression. And maybe that's kind
of how boul was reading in how things were opening up.
But I just thought that, hey, man, calling this your
number one receiver.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
He made a hell of a catch last week, had
charges game right to give.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
The Broncos an opportunity to try to pull that game out.
I thought that call him what this would be the
game that he would be more involved, But we didn't
see it. But the pro and con is no call
of sudden, But I mean that's the con. The pro
is Troy Franklin started to step into the spotlight. And

(03:10):
if that happens and he builds up the rapports similar
to what he had with Bow and Oregon, I'm gonna
say watch out.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Oh you think he could take off here?

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Absolutely?

Speaker 1 (03:23):
I mean ye, that's the reason he was drafted fourth
round pick.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Yeah, so you move away from Jerry Judy to try
to get Marvin Mims more opportunities. That didn't really happen,
but we saw Troy Franklin start to emerge. Is he
where he needs to be. By no means no, he isn't.
But it was great to see some positive plays from
Troy Franklin last night.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I think sometimes when I look at the offense here,
I'm like, this team has got a lot of young
guys that I think that could they could develop together,
do you know what I mean? Like they they could
like all be good at the same time. I think
is what you're hoping for, you know, like, Okay, Troy Franklin,
Devon Vele, you know bo Nicks. They're going to grow

(04:07):
and improve and improve and prove together so that by
the time when they're all good, this team will be rolling.
And sometimes it seems like the outlier amongst that group
is Courtland Sutton.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Well, yeah, Courtland Sutton being the eldest statesman in the room.
When the Broncos finally get to where they need to,
I just have a feeling. Unfortunately, he may not be
a part of the team, but he would be able
to say that he was a part of the group
of guys that transition him back to what the standard was.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
When I played.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Yeah, and it's going to be sad and unfortunate, but
this is how the business of football works out, and
you make a very valid point. With a lot of
the guys on the officer side of the ball being younger,
they have an opportunity to grow and mature together. But
like they say, there's always the flip side of the coin,
and here's the flip side of that coin. As all

(05:05):
these players gain that experience and kind of change, the
culture here is going to reach a point where management
is gonna have to make a decision which of these
guys are going to be your foundational pieces and which
guys are gonna keep. So we already know Bo's gonna
be that final foundation to piece. He's not going anywhere, no,

(05:26):
But it's those other guys that you're putting around. It's
gonna come to a point where you're gonna have to
ask yourself, do we pay this guy or do we
allow him to walk?

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Yeah, that's always the trick. I mean, like that's why,
like these great teams. You know, if you can win
towards the end of a rookie contract, that's where it's
you know, key there where if a three two three
years from now, if Bo's really rolling, this team has
a chance, you know what I mean, Like I think
that that's that's what you look at with the developing here.

(05:57):
So we got some guys to coming in on the
or some text coming in on the common Spirit health
text line you want to be a part of the
conversation five six, six nine zero, We got some. We
got two eight four four talking about Garrett Bowles. Hey,
let's give Garrett Bowles a little bit of props. So
they're saying five games here with two or less pressures.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
I think, yeah, that is right to call that out
because for so many years Garrett Bowles has been under
the thumb of negativity where people have criticized him. And
I'm I'm a fan of if you're going to criticize
when someone is not playing well, when they play well
as expected and they produce, you should definitely validate them

(06:44):
and give them their flowers. And it was great to
see Garrett I guess gallivant off the field last night. Yes,
as he fless by the Thursday night Prime Football, you know,
telecas And it's good to see that that confidence. You know,
guys are starting to exude that confidence because that's what

(07:06):
this game is about. Being able to trust the guy
next to you, being able to trust your quarterback, if
you're an office of lineman being able to I guess,
trust the plays that are called in and build that
confidence because they're gonna need it in a couple of weeks.
They're going to need every single guy every amount of

(07:26):
confidence that they can muster because they have some tough games.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Up coming up.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
But it's all important to see Garrett show the uble excitement,
but also see Troy Franklin after scoring I believe his
first touchdown on Sunday against the Chargers.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
To be able to put a back to back game together.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Yeah, you start building a little bit like, hey, I'm
it's starting to click. You start feeling more comfortable, you're
getting more targets, you're saying, Okay, I'm a part of
this team. Whereas if you're just not getting like I
imagine that Marvin mimes we had a text here from
three to seven to one, or feels a little bit
more removed.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
From it, do you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Where you're not in it, you're not doing it, you're
not like a part of it. Harder to build confidence
that way. But for guy like Troy, you know now
that it's hey, it's two weeks in a row, you
start stacking these things up. Hey have another good game
against the Panthers, and then you start really feeling like,
all right, I got it here.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Well, very true, Phil, because I know some guys over
my years, both coaching and playing, that just wanted to
be on the team and happy to be a part
of the team. And there's a difference between being a
part of the team and actually being a contributor to
the team. And that's where we're seeing Troy now being

(08:42):
brought into the foe, but not as much we're seeing
with Marvin Moms, even though be telling honest, Marvin Mims
lined up in the bathield.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
They try to use him some different ways, you know,
just using his athleticism, trying to figure out ways to
you know, get a spark going in here.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
I think, well, the one way that you can do
that with him is sending him vertical. Yeah, on a
vertical route. Yeah, he is a burner, but I would
use Marvin Mims strategically to run certain routes. There was
a route that I saw the Jordan Humphrey run to perfection.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
The Broncos were in a bunch formation.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
To their right and they had the Jordan Humphrey inside
close to.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Mike mcglicy. And usually this type of route is.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Run with like two receivers and it's like a slat
flap fade. But he did it from the inside third
receiver position. Let all the routes run inside, and he
just kind of slowly kind of matriculated out and he
was open. These are the sign some of the same
type of plays that you can use called a sudden

(09:50):
of Marvin mims On, even Troy Franklin.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
After you catch the ball, you got some space.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Yeah, because think about it, me outside the numbers, who's
out there?

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Yeah, just the sideline and the guy holding the chains,
right that the sideline of the guy.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Yes, yes, it's well it's a little lowly until you
catch the ball yet, right. But these are ways that
the Broncos players could be deployed and hopefully from what
we saw last night, it sparks a little more innovation
or dare I say consistency in this direction.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
How do you think they came up with all this
stuff last night? Because it was a short week, you know, like,
how did they just roll out all these new little
wrinkles that we saw? It was a short week and
then all of a sudden, it looked like a different offense.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Well, usually when teams are knowing as though they're going
to play on that Thursday night is gonna be a
short week, you started working on things prior to that.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
It's kind of a build up. Like after that Chargers game.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
I'm sure the coaches they didn't go home, They went
right back to the facility to kind of start on
their prep. And that prep starts many weeks in advance.
I can tell you same thing happened for us when
I was on the forty nine Ers coaching staff.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
You don't wait until that moment.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Now, if there's some things that you may see other
teams run that you may want to implement, now you
may throw one or two plays into the mix.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
But I think this process.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Might have started a couple of weeks ago, and maybe
and I don't know this to be fair, but I'm
just trying to put my coach's hat on and just say, well,
who's to say that some of these plays were not
on the call sheet? Say to them that they were
not called, and fans will go like, well, if they

(11:45):
were on the call sheet two weeks ago, call the plays,
call them. But sometimes situational football dictates what you can
and can't do. All I'm saying is what I saw
last night. We saw a lot of different things that
the Broncos were doing that we haven't seen them do.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
All last year and this year. But they showed up
last year.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
So once again, I don't know who it was, whose idea,
who came up with said plays.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
It really doesn't make a difference to me. I just
want to see more of it.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
It's kind of the it all like kind of works together, Nick,
because sometimes when they keep going three and out and
it doesn't seem like anything's working right, it's harder to
start calling some of these plays where you feel like
you got them off balance. Because last night it felt
like really Sean was in his bag, you know, like
it felt like he was like really just picking and

(12:42):
choosing how he wanted to do it, and the Saints
just like they were off balanced the whole night, it
felt like, and they couldn't catch up to what Dever
was doing. And sometimes you have to be on the
field and like really have that rhythm going to be
able to start playing with things like that. But at
the same time, that's what keeps on the field is
when you can do those things. So it's like it's

(13:03):
just such a weird balance. It feels like sometimes because
when things aren't going well, you can't really bust out
all these things and field that.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
Goes back to the coach. So these things are twofold.
I mean the coach has that restaurant menu that you
see that waffle house, mean you right.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
Where everything's on it.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Everything's on it right, and you want to go all
the above as a coach, But depending on field positions,
down in distance, the game itself, how the game is
going into a flow, you you ain't. You may sometimes
talk yourself out of running certain plays because you may
feel this.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
Listen, if we pick up this first down, here's the.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Next play, I want to go to right, and then
the next play after that. And if you don't pick
up that first down, now you're punting. So it changes
your mentality as a coach. So that coach needs to
stay into a rhythm as well.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
And look at the Broncos.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
I go back to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game because
that was something that was uncommon watching the Broncos game,
coming out on that first.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
Drive and scoring.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
But last night it took the Broncos offense a couple
of drives to get into a flow. And once again
that goes back to you know, bowl, the offensive line
in the play calling. But once they got into a
flow in a rhythm, they were riding hot. But with
a couple of games coming up that they're gonna need
to win, I want to see what that level of

(14:25):
consistency is like, because that's how I truly know where
this offense and the direction they're going.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Yeah, you mentioned running the ball there, I mean two
and twenty five yards Russian. You mentioned Mike mclinchy's name
a little bit earlier. He was back into the fold
there last night. And it feels like when this team's
able to run the ball like that, it just opens
up everything.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Yeah, yeah, it does it.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
It starts to build that the confidence in the play
calling that plays that maybe coach Payton wanted to.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
Run three weeks ago. Now he can finally call those.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Yeah, it was all working last night against the Saints.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Here, we're gonna take a quick break.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
When we come back, we'll talk about what's going on
the rest of around the NFL. The rest of this
weekend here is the Broncos. We're gonna supposed to be
hanging out here this weekend watching games on TV. We'll
go through some pick them that's coming up next on
Broncos Country tonight. Phil Malani filling in for Benjamin alright
here in studio, hanging out with Nick ferguson Nick. No

(15:28):
Broncos game this week.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
What are you gonna do?

Speaker 3 (15:31):
I'm gonna watch some college football and I'm gonna watch
some football on Sunday KC in the Forts.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Oh yeah, super Bowl rematch. Huh.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Let's just kick back and you know, watch some of
these other games, check out your fantasy team maybe a little.
You know, it'll be sort of a weird Sunday not
having that Broncos game, but it'll be fun going around
the league.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
You want to do a little pick them one.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Let's go ahead and kick it off.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
First game on the Slight, another game in London for
the Jaguars. They're taking on the Patriots. Jaguars favored by
six in this game. What do you guys think?

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Kind of like Drick May I don't know, you know,
he's starting to get going a little bit here. The
Patriots playing in England, New England in England. I'm going
with the Pats.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
Well, I'm gonna go in a different direction.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
This is a game I feel as though both Doug
Peterson and Trevor Lawrence need to get back.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
On track now.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
The only thing that kind of changes for me, Noan
Travis Etn is going to be out, so Tate Biggsby
is going to get a bulk of the carrys with
Denis Johnson.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
But I'm still leaning on the Jags.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
I know they're from Jacksonville, but you might as well
call them the London Jaguars.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
Yeah, this is kind of their second home field, right,
this is two weeks.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
In a row, they're in London. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
I think they win this game. I think they pulled out.

Speaker 5 (16:54):
I don't know, it's going to be ugly. I think
they may not cover the six, but I think they win.
Next game on the slate, Seahawks at Falcons Falcons favored
by three.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
I'm rolling with the Falcons here just because of one
they find from Seattle to Atlanta. They might as well
as be playing in London, you know. I mean that
is a hard trip. The time change is really hard,
that early kickoff. I think that the Seahawks traditionally have
a tough time in those games, and Kirk Cousins a

(17:25):
couple of weeks ago lit the world on fire, not
as hot last week.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
I think they bounced back. The Falcons win this one.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
See, I was.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Leaning more towards to Seahawks because DK meycalf messed up
against a J Terrell who has struggled mightily against other
league's tops receivers. But like you'na roll with the Falcons
because Tyler has Year and Bijon Robinson both rushed for
a collective two hundred yards last week.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
So I'm gonna roll with the Falcons.

Speaker 5 (17:54):
I think we're all three on the Falcons. I think
they're the real deal. I may be wrong, but I
think they're gonna make some noise in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
It's get to meet the Falcons as well.

Speaker 5 (18:01):
Next game on the slate, Titans at Bills. Bill's favored
by nine and a half. But the Bills, that's a
super Bowl contender. Now they make the big trade this
week for Amari Cooper. There's no way they can lose
this one, right, Well.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
There's always a possibility if Josh.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Allen goes down, So.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
I'll in the universe II Bill.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
Is just like this, No way they can lose. That's
that's one way they can lose.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
But I'm picking up the Bills because Will Lovis has
struggled with the Titans, and I'm sure the Bills are
gonna find some way to get Amari Cooper involved with
a couple of receptions.

Speaker 5 (18:38):
I love that edition of Amari Cooper. I think he's
gonna be a great fit there. And yeah, Will Levis
just maybe needs to lay off the mayo. I don't
know what it is. He does not look very good
this year, but clean sweep for us, and again on
this one, I'm going with the Bills as well. The
Battle of Ohio Bengals at the Browns.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
Goody Hoday Bingles favored by five and a half.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Who you got, I know you'll like this as a bag,
I'm going with the Bengals. I just think that, you know,
Joe Burrow hasn't gotten a lot of the attention because
the Bengals have, you know, dropped four games here. The
record isn't where it's supposed to be, but he's having
a heck of a year bouncing back from that injury,
and I think that I just think that they're gonna
eventually catch on here. I think the Bengals by the

(19:21):
end of the season, they're going to be right in
the mix here. And I and I think that the
the Browns are just I mean, this thing is on
fire there. So I think that I'm going Bengals.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
The Battle of the Buckeye State.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
I'm going to go with the Bengals, even though I
would say, and I would warn you know, Grant watch
out for Miles Garrett. Yeah right, he definitely is a monster.
But the Browns have been in total disarray. And like
we've talked about, you move away from Amari Cooper or
now your primary target. So yeah, Jerry Jerry, Well that

(19:56):
hasn't really worked that well for the Browns.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
So the Bengals take this one.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Yeah, when do we start thinking that maybe Jerry Judy
is a problem.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Not yet, but maybe if he goes.

Speaker 5 (20:04):
To a third team and doesn't do anything there. And
I'll always for me two words for a Bengals game.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
Hoay, We're all on the Bengals.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
Next game on the slate, Texans five and one at
the Packers four and two. I love this matchup. Packers
favored by.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Three, So who you got, Well, this is a heck
of a quarterback matchup CJ. Straut Jordan Love. I like
both of these teams. I mean, I think that I'm
gonna take the Packers playing at home there in Lambeau.
I feel like Jordan Love, he survived that injury scare
earlier and now I feel like the Packers are really

(20:39):
getting into a zone here.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
I'm going I'm going Green.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
Bay, even though I know Nico Collins is on IR
and he was a number one target for CJ. Stroud,
I'm gonna have to go with the Houston Texans.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Ooh, tank down?

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Well, well, the reason, yeah, tang down, This is a
perfect opportunity for him to have a break out game.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
And not to mention, I mean, you still have step one.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
But the biggest reason I'm choosing the Texans Will Anderson
and that Texans defense.

Speaker 5 (21:07):
How about the how about the addition of Joe Mixon
to the Texans too? Yeah, year hurt my Bengals, but
he's looking good down there in Houston. But I like
the Packers in this one. For both of these teams
to go five and two. Give me the Packers at home.
Next game on the slate, Dolphins at Colts, a game
that maybe no one will be watching and Dolphins, the Colts.

(21:28):
Dolphins are sorry, Colts are favored by three phil How
do you see this one playing?

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Now?

Speaker 1 (21:34):
I'm rolling with the Colts here.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
I think that they're going back to Anthony Richardson, which
is sort of an interesting I mean, Joe Flacco stepped
in there, played pretty nicely. You know, Joe Flacco one
of my hair idols. He's got a perfect he takes
the helmet off. It's like, were you just run a helmet?
But uh, they're going away from Flacco back to Anthony Richardson,

(21:56):
and uh, I think that the I think they get
this one done. The offense really are sort of struggling here,
especially on offense, and I'm going Colts.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
Wow, it seemed like you were going Prince Charming from
the Shred movies with the great hair. I think that
that role goes to either Joe Buck or Jimmy Johnson.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
But in this particular game, I'm gonna roll with the Colts.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Even though though Joey Butter Flacco is not starting, I
still look at what's going on with the Dolphins and
Tyler Huntley being their quarterback and not yet developing that
chemistry with Waddle and Tyreek Hills Colts take this one.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
Yeah, no offense to Huntley, but I don't know if
he's ever gonna figure it out.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
Give me the Colts as well.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
Lions at Vikings battle for the top of the NFC North.
Vikings favored by only one and a half. Phil Who
you got?

Speaker 1 (22:49):
This one's a bar burner.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
These two offenses, I mean, they're gonna light up the scoreboard,
I think this week. And I actually I think that
the Lions are gonna hand the Vikings their first lot
so the season here. I mean, I really love the
creativity we've seen from the Lions all these laterals. You
never know what's gonna hit you. They got that two
headed monster there with the within the backfield, with the

(23:12):
running game that jerk Goff feels like he's he's rolling now.
I like the Lions here on the road and in
the Vikings their first loss this season.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
I can't do it.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
The Vikings stay perfect. And here's what no Aiden Hutchison
for the Detroit Lions.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Words out of my mind.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
I'm just going to expose that back in for the
Detroit Lions because you got to Addison and you have
you know, Jefferson, you know it's going to be one
of those games where we're gonna start to look at
Sam Donald like, did the league.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
Make a mistake.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Yeah, I'm talking that way.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
It's definitely looking that way. So I'm taking the Vikings.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
I'm taking the Vikings as well.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
I like the best story in the NFL by far
this year with Sam Darnold getting a resurgence there up
in Minnesota. So happy for him. I like the Vikings
to stay perfect too. If Aidon Hutchinson was playing, maybe
I go with the Lions. But man, how tough is
that dude snapping his leg in half and still finishing
the sack last week? I mean, he's just built different.
But yeah, give me the Vikings this week. Next game

(24:11):
on the slate, NFC East Battle Eagles at the Giants.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Eagles favored by three.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
The Eagles kind of mystify me here, Like I just thought,
I thought, especially the way they came out with Saquon Barkley,
I thought that, you know, they're gonna be one of
the top teams in the league. They each week they win, win,
they lose one, win one, lose one. But Barkley going
back to New York here, that's gonna be a big
game for him.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
So I'm rolling with the Eagles. Fly Eagles five bro.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
Those Eagles will be soaring because Saquon Barkley is gonna
have a hell of a game. And when you face
your former team, especially it's guy down.

Speaker 4 (24:49):
The Highway away, Yeah, you.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Definitely want to show up because Ticky Barbera and those
Giants fans are going to be bulling him, just giving
him extra and once again the quarterback for the Giants
and Daniel Jones.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
I really doesn't I really don't trust it.

Speaker 5 (25:06):
He's looking a little better these last couple of weeks.
Barkley also has a huge day, hoping he does for
my fantasy football team, but I actually like the Giants
to spoil coming back.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
Next game.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
Moving on to the two oh five slate here Raiders
at the Rams, Rams favored by seven.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Rams really need this one. They've been hurting here.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
Uh. I thought they were going to be a pretty
good team they made at playoffs last year. I think
that they're one in four. They need they need this one.
And on the other side, the Raiders, they're sort of
selling out here. They make the trade with DeVante Adams.
A lot of people think maybe Max Crosby might be
on his way out.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
I'm going with the Rams here.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
Well, speaking of backs Crosby, I think he may follow
Divines Adams asked for his walking papers, and I think
he may ask can.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
He go to Detroit? Yeah, that would be since Yeah,
that would be great for Dan Campbell.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
He's got that tattoo though.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
Well, it doesn't make a difference. I mean, you come
tattoos up, you can do whatever.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
The cople of Lions tattoo.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
This Raiders team, they've they've had a lot of issues
and once you started trading off parts, you're letting your
fan base know that you are taking And you said it, Phil,
I mean, the Rams are one and four, they need
to win.

Speaker 4 (26:25):
This is probably gonna be the win for Sean McVay. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
I like the Rams and this one too.

Speaker 5 (26:28):
But man, can you imagine Max Crosby with the Lions
and Aid and Hunchington comes back as well, those two
guys on the edge. Oh goodness, Yeah, give me the
Rams in this one. Panthers at Commanders. Commanders favored by
nine and a half.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Yeah, that's nine and a half. You don't see that
all the time in the NFL. The Washington has just
been rolling here. I love what they've been doing on offense.
Jaydon Daniels, what an incredible start to his career.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
I'm going to Washington.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
Yeah, I love what I've been able to see with
jayde Dave and Cliff Kingsbury is doing an amazing job.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
And how about Dan Quinn in that defense?

Speaker 3 (27:05):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (27:06):
And our boy Coachana coach Baganda.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
I really didn't see this happening this quick for the Commanders,
but they have a solid team. Even though to David
Clowney and Josey Jela coming back for the Panthers is
gonna be in the lost games.

Speaker 5 (27:20):
Yeah, it's not going to be enough. Commander's role on
this one. I think they cover that nine and a
half pretty easily.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
The game of the week.

Speaker 5 (27:26):
And my opinion, and probably in most people's opinion, Super
Bowl rematch Chiefs at forty nine ers forty nine Ers
favored by one and a half.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Yeah, that's interesting the Niners that give favored there. You know,
I know that they're at home, but hey, the Chiefs.
The Chiefs are the Chiefs, you know, and they always
find a way to win. They win the big games,
they win all the games really, and I think that
until they lose.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
I'm rolling with the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
So you're saying that the league has some way of
favoring the Chiefs with some calls.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
Very interesting.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
I know so many people who would echo sentiments, but
when these two teams get together, you know, it's always electric.
But I'm gonna give the nod to the forty nine
Ers at home winning a game right that they should
have won in a freaking super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
They should have won then, but they did.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
Christian McCaffrey still out right, He's still give me the Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Sunday Night football. Sometimes it's that simple.

Speaker 5 (28:23):
Sunday Night football, Jets at Steelers, Jets favored by one
and a half. Russell Wilson's starting for the Steelers. This
one shocks me.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
That move.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
But Phil Davante Adams probably gonna have fifteen catchess a
couple of touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
But yeah, Russell Wilson, I mean.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
This is a This is an interesting interesting switch there
from justin Fields, especially after the way the Steelers started
the season here. But I think that New York they're
going all in. I'm taking the Jets here.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
Yeah, this one was a toss up for me because
I look at not the quarterbacks but the defensive units
and I'm gonna go out on the lamb.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
I'm gonna go with the Steelers.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Screw it, Heelers Country. Russ is gonna talk Hunt.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Well, it's not as much Russ's cooking is more about
t J. Watt cooking because Aaron Rodgers can't run.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
Yeah this year, man, Yeah, then beat up.

Speaker 5 (29:26):
But if they want to be in the playoff picture,
I think they got to win this game on the road.
And I think they do. Give me the Jets as well,
And I think you're right, Phil. I think Devantae Adams
has a good game doubleheader on Monday night once again.
First game Ravens at Bucks. I think this is gonna
be a heck of a matchup Bucks favor or sorry,
Ravens favored by three and a half in Tampa.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
Bill, how do you see this one playing now?

Speaker 2 (29:50):
Yeah, I think that Baker Mayfield probably gonna have a
huge day, passing probably about four touchdowns there for Baker,
he's sort of that fantasy stud for this week. And
but I don't know if it's gonna be enough to
beat Baltimore. Baltimore has been playing pretty well. King Henry,
What can't this guy do. I'm gonna go Baltimore. I

(30:10):
like Baltimore, but I think it's gonna be a high
scoring affair.

Speaker 4 (30:12):
I'm gonna go Baltimore.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
Lamar Jackson and King Henry just blunt force trauma.

Speaker 5 (30:19):
I like it, but I'm gonna go against both of you.
I think Ravens find a way to lose games that
they shouldn't every year.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
They win the big games.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
Lose the ones they shouldn't sometimes, and I just got
a feeling. I can't explain it, but give me Baker
Mayfield and the Bucks. Final game of the week seven
slate Chargers at Cardinals, Chargers favored by.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Two on the road. I'm going with the Chargers here too.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
I think that they showed something, you know, last Sunday
against Lebron because that I feel like Justin Herbert is
starting to feel a little more comfortable, and I just
for some reason, I just never know what I'm gonna
give with Kyler Murray, Like sometimes he goes out there
and he just balls out and it's like electrifying, and
then other times last week against the Packers, that offense struggled.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
So I'm going I'm gonna Chargers here.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
I'm gonna go with Chargers. You know, JK. Dobbins in
the fact that you got the.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
Chargers defense, and it seems as though they're gonna get
DJ Chark back this week off of Endo reserve, so
that should help both, sir their offense.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
I like the Cardinals and this one. I picked them
last week and they failed me. But I think, like
you said, Phil, you never know what you're gonna get
with Kyler Murray. I think we're gonna get a big
game from him this weekend, and that's gonna help the
Broncos when the Chargers lose to the Cardinals.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Oh okay, I guess you did there.

Speaker 4 (31:37):
That's why you did that.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
Okay, Okay, I like it.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
Okay, smart there all right, Well that's our look around
the NFL. There are pick I'm here, so we will
see Nick just hanging out on the couch this Sunday,
y'all watching all these games. So, uh, we're gonna take
a quick break when we come back. Parker Gabriel from
the Denver Post set to join us. That's next here
on Broncos Country tonight.
