Speaker 1 (00:00):
Just had the drawing here and Linda Gallay, that's Linda g.
A l A y is the winner the two tickets
to the Carolina Panthers Denver Broncos game this weekend. We
got your email and then there'll be people that'll be
in touch and you make sure you get your tickets.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
So congratulations to you.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Nick Ferguson, before we went to the break, was in
the throws of telling us why October is the greatest
month of the year. And aside from Brian Edwards loving
flannel shirts and pumpkin spice lattes, I'd love to hear
your reasoning, sir.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
I knew you would go down that particular path, but
it has nothing to do with flannel shirts and.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Pumpkin spice lattes.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
But here's a great thing about the month of October,
Like you get the WNBA and they're wrapping up playoffs
and championships, and big shout out to the New York
Liberty who won the first title in their franchise history.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
And they were like one of the first.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Teams when the WNBA formed, like twenty eight years ago,
they were one of the first team, so big shout
out to them.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
But you get basketball, So.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
You get w NBA, NBA basketball starting back, you get.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Baseball in the World Series.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Yes, yes, And then for me, fall is one of
my most important months of the year because the leaves
are changing, the cold wind.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Is coming here. You're a cold weather person or.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
A warm weather person.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I figured, you know, being from Florida and all, you'd
be more apt for the warm weather.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
No, it would seem and appear that way, but I
would have to tell you it is a total opposite
because since leaving Florida, going to Georgia Tech and then
going playing over in Europe and the CFL and Chicago, Buffalo,
New York, New York, New York, Denver, Colorado, I'm amassed

(01:53):
a lot of.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Cold weather clues.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
You certainly got some some Canadia weather up there in Saskatoon.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
Or what.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Jonna Siscotsman there you go. Yes, so this is you know,
star weather. Yes, right, so it is that.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Time of the year, of course, But that's you. Last
year you did the same thing.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
It was cold out and you're still wearing shorts and
I didn't know.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
What was later. Yeah, you know, yes, I'm not I'm
not looking. I'm not looking.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
But fall, but fall in October is one of those
Markie moments because think about the NFL schedule. This is
kind of in that window where schedule well yeah, in
the NFL star flexing games.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Right, so, which they're already doing, by the way, I
think they're pulling.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I think you're pulling a Jags game and putting like
Colts Vikings on Sunday night here in a couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
So yes, So so it's a great time. But also
that means that Thanksgiving.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
I mean it's not that far away. Yeah, it's not
that far away.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
That's you favorite. It's the food, isn't it. It is
for me?

Speaker 1 (02:59):
I cannot lie which Okay, so you a turkey guy
or not a turkey guy, because Shelby Harris used to
be like anti turkey, and I'm like, bro, you got
a brind the thing, so you get a juicy turkey.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Said no, it's a dry bird. I'll never eat it.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
And I've still there's been a running bit for years
where I've been trying to get it to try turkey
to the point where I have mailed him.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Turkey various locker roolt or where he will not eat it.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
You have mailed him turkey.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Uh huh, Well this is not in the Jetsons where
you could drop some water on like that.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Yes, you know you can put it in dry ice
though in a box and send.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
It, oh man, which is yes, exactly. So for me,
I want to put a time.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
I was a turkey guy, but now it was like, dude,
you can need whatever you want.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
To what you have.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
We had steaks, get steaks for Thanksgiving. Yes, I support
this tradition.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
Yes, I am in support of this tradition.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Now you probably cooked them too long. You cook them
same like did you cook it? You put it rightywhere
next to the turkey. You cooked it for six hours?

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Okay, So here's what I've been experimenting with. Okay, we'll
be totally honest. So I purchased brisket, and uh, we
got a nice little slow cooker.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Yeah right, so it's almost like tool. Uh but it's
him the too man, like you get a new tool
or something. Yeah, yeah, you got to try it out.
So we got this a little slow cooker. So I'm
slow cooking everything, bitch. Uh huh, I mean I'm slow.
If I get slow cook apples, I will Hey, I'm
mad at it.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
I'm saying I'm here for this.

Speaker 6 (04:29):
I uh for me.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Somebody did uh prime rib for.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Thanksgiving a couple of years ago, and I was like,
well done, this was well played. And I was like
I was, you know, I was complaining about the lack
of turkey, and then I had the prime rib and
I was like.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
This is this was well done?

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Chris was, uh, this is uh hang on just a second.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
Well, you go ahead and handle the drawing.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
But it is something that I've learned by with the
small slow cooker. What I've been able to do, uh
putting meat in the slow cooker and fine tuning my
chef's skin. It was because I know both you and
some of the listeners by how you've read them, and
profit uh give this information, misguiding the fans thinking, okay,

(05:12):
well I don't know how to properly order a steak
or cook beef.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
But that is so much of Just.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Because you like burnt shoe leather doesn't mean that's a
wrap burned shoe leather.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Look, you will be impressed with this.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
I even had one of those little splitzers where you
put a little apside of being again you put the
shoe on it.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Yes, we need we need a Nix cooking YouTube channel.
This is what we need. Like you and I preparing stuff,
but do you do a split screen. I'm in my
kitchen and I'm making it, like Ray, You're like.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
You know yo, Okay, well what are you making?

Speaker 6 (05:44):
Though?

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Whatever you want to make, let's make stup. Well, we'll
have competing dishes. It'll be like the bake Off, except
it'll be us who's.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Gonna try to fool this. So it's a bakeoff.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Well, I mean it's not a we're not baking anything,
but you get the idea like it'll be.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
It'll be a cookoff.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Okay, we'll start off with something relatively relatively simple that
I'll crush you out, like chili. I'm just saying, and
we did do this, man saying like we could. We
could totally pull us off. We could have a hilarious
cooking show.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Now the one thing you can't totally wait a minute,
the one thing that.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
You can't do right, and it seems though it would
be the Benjamin all Right thing to do, like say, okay,
well let's have a cook off. You go order some
food and then you kind of set it out there,
like you kind of make it yourself throw some flour
on your face.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
Yes, that seemed like something that could.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Well, wait, I take that back exactly.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
If it was like it was like Indian food or
something I couldn't make, then I might try to sneak in.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
And do something like that.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
But I like cooking. I enjoy it.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
Do you like cooking? Yeah? Well when did you embrace
this whole idea of cooking?

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Because the whole time you was criticized aby culinary skills
with the State, I never once heard you think about
bringing something in. Look sitting in the studio, granted, granted,
And I have seen you come.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
In about a past food. Yes, and it's all convenient.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
And it's like, wait a minute, if you can cook,
why are you not like bringing your own food?

Speaker 2 (07:16):
It because I cook when I get home. Oh whatever, man,
is that what you guys want to have?

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Want in my food? That's what you want? Is what
we need to do.

Speaker 6 (07:24):
I need to bring you guys, this.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Is what Yes.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Yes, Ben says that he has coultary skills like that
he needs to bring the food in so we can
actually say okay, it's legit, all.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Right, Well, then that's what we're gonna WE'RENNA.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
We're gonna figure out a dish or something and I'll
bring it in. Not to pray out this week. Next
week we'll figure something out and I will I will
bring something.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches don't count you guys will
fig out cash. I'm not.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
I've been bringing it, but I don't even like jelly,
so to be peanut butter and honey.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
But okay, as long as you put my dad is
a cinnamon on it, I put cinnamon.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
I never been a peanut butter and banana guy. Maybe
I could try that at someone.

Speaker 6 (07:57):
Well, I won't figure it out.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
I will bring something in.

Speaker 6 (07:59):
I promise.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
We are live at the Sporty Pickle Bar and Grill
stap mile north of E four seventy on Beoria.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Monday night football going on. The Ravens and the Tampa Bay.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Buccaneers also got the Chargers Cardinals, although we don't have
that went on.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
I think Nicked that's streaming on his phone a little
bit ago. You know, as we look at.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
These two teams a little bit more offensive oriented than
the Broncos. We've already played obviously Tampa and beat down
Baltimore coming up looks like a pretty formidable follow and
they're putting it to Tampa a little bit tonight. Is
there anything to take out of this game? Is anything
that Broncos should be looking at? The take out of
this game is obviously we got to Carol lot of
this week, but Baltimore the next opponent on the schedule

(08:37):
after that, well, looking at.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
The Baltimore Ravens secondary, there will be some opportunities to
take advantage of those guys.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
In the back end.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
And it just is a matter of putting a culmination
of plays that compliment one another together.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
And this is why that game.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Against the Saints on Thursday night could give the Broncos
offense a little confidence because there was a little more creation,
creativity than we've seen in a week's prior. Because when
you and I have talked about it before, and I'm
not saying anything that I believe is.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
Disrespectful, I mean, the truth is the truth.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
I mean, when we looked at the Broncos offensive set,
it looked a little stagnant. It looked at to a
point where when the defense comes up and the lines up,
you have someone of an idea of what they want
to do. Indicators as far as bringing in with the
type formations. But now the Broncos are bringing in and
still using the type formation, but they're using motion right,

(09:40):
which we didn't really see with the Champagne offense.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
So maybe the Broncos can look a little at.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
What Tampa has done to be a little successful the
Buffalo Bills. When the Baltimore Ravens played Buffalo, they had
some creative ways to get Josh Allens some easy throws.
You just kind of use all that and put it
together and hopefully you come up with a successful game
plan against Baltimore.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Baltimore looks pretty formidable.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Obviously, they've got the mobility of Lamar Jackson, which you
know makes you a threat every play. We've seen that
playout tonight. Did Derreck Henry in the Power and the
Run game. That's gonna be interesting, Although the Broncos did
a pretty good job of shutting down Derek Henry back
when he was with the Titans.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
I don't know if you remember.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Wait, wait, he was with the Titans and Marcus Warriota
was his quarterback.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Stiff Tannehill was a quarterback for one of those games too. Actually,
Tim Mariota got benched. Yeah, came in.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
And there was another game later. I remember the one
where Bryce Callahan square it up whole.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
I was like, oh, well, watching watching Bryce was my size,
my weight square up on it and Bryce Kellen had
tackled it.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Bros Like, oh okay, my hat is off to your side.

Speaker 6 (10:40):
I hadn't.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
I was unfamiliar with your game.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Well, Baltimore is a different piece when you throw in
the capabilities of what Lamar Jackson can do. We saw
Todd munkin no doubt of a couple of design quarterback runs,
sort of what the Broncos dialed up last Thursday.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
It for bow Nick.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
So it could be one of those power football games
and one of those games I love playing in as
a player because.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
It was strictly nine o seven. Yeah, nine o seven.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
You better bring your Timbaland's, your hard head, and your
blue blockers because that.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
Was going to be one of those I'm gonna bloody
your nose that games.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
I always have a pair of blue blockers on standby.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
Just yeah, I'm sure my dad used to.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Wear those orange sunglass and my dad used to wear
those wear those things everywhere.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Five six six nine zeros A text.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
I'm got the NFL six pack here coming up in
just a few thanks to roldby and who joined us early.
If you guys ever missed anything you got a broadcost
country Tonight dot Com slash podcast where I could get
all our previous segments. That ord go to Apple, iTunes, Spotify,
Total Free and Awsome my Heart Radio.

App where you get to take it for.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
Granted podcast as well.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Grant Is there any any new guest coming up?

Speaker 5 (11:53):
New guests this week will be Ken Solomon. He was
Rocky for the Nuggets for about thirty five years and
he's going to share some stories from behind the scenes,
players he interacted with and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
I bet he's got some stories to tell me.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Looking for that to Take It for Granted podcast also
available there as well. Guys, if you get a chance,
the Ka't Wait All Online pro Pick Them challenges back

(12:27):
Presented by Verizon, the official five G Network of the
Denver Broncos. And it looks like my Derek Henry touchdown
just cashed. My parlay is now two items away from
from cash on the grant. We might finally, I might
finally hit this one. We just need Zaya likely to
get a few more yards and push God when I
think of you more so when we we're gonna hit

(12:49):
a break here, Well not quite yet, We're almost doing break.
We're really hit a break the DFL six back here
in a minute. Watching this, watching this Baltimore and.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
Bucks game.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
Bucks game, the the Bucks defense is just the looks
non existent almost but Baltimore is just tearing through them.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Well, this is an example of when you know who
you are from an identity standpoint, you stick to that identity.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
And you don't bail on it. And once again I give.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Coach Harbaugh credit, Todd Miken credit because earlier in this
game there was nothing the room out there for Derrick
Henry to find pay dirt. But they stuck with the
run game and Derek Henry was out for a couple
of plays here early in the third quarter. But they
know who they are, and they know what kind of

(13:39):
horse they have, and they're gonna ride that horse, get
me up hopefully to the promise lend.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yeah, he's got nine carries and he's over one hundred
yards rushing as far as that goes, and your fourth
quarter figures to be Dereck Henry time for the Baltimore.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Ravens in this one. Over on the other side.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Of it, you got the Chargers in the Arizona Cardinals.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Of course, the Chargers.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
To beat the Broncos just a few back, but the
Arizona Cardinals are I think an interesting team. They kind
of show up and challenge teams that I think don't
expect to sleep on them a little bit at times.
That game is at the half and it's seven to
six with the Cardinals winning right there, What do we

(14:21):
make of this sort of jackal and Hyde Cardinals football team.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Well, this is pretty much where the Cardinals are right now,
because when you look at the offense, and that's where
it starts, you need a multitude of weapons in order
to score a lot of points in this league. It
just can't be Marvin Harrison junior. It can't be Connor
the running back position. It just can't be.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Klin Murray by himself.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
You need on the offensive side of the ball. You
need six quality players that you can depend on who's
going to make the offense balance but also present issues
for the d treads when you play them. And right
now Arizona don't really have those types of plays, are
they building? Absolutely is one of the reasons why Cliff

(15:08):
Kingsbury was sent packing because he couldn't really turn that
offense around.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Me andwise got the offense of Washington turned around. And
we see Jay Daniels though to get a little dinged.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
Up in that game. Wait, come back.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
We got the NFL six back to the Broncos Country
to night. So I appreciate romy Bean joining us earlier
in the show. If you missed that, you missed anything.
You always go to Broncos Country and at that podcast
where you get your podcast Apple iTunes, Spotify, Total Free,
the Loss of My Heart Radio app I did before
you get taken from that podcast where he is gonna
have Getzlibron, who was the Rocky for the Nuggets for decades.
A lot of good stories there. Look forward to listening

(15:41):
to that one. Without further ado, let's get to the
NFL six pack.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
It is time for the NFL six pad. I'm gonna
trade a lot of beer. Insight and insight information you
can't find anywhere else.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
No.

Speaker 6 (15:53):
Six the top six NFL headline.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
What well we had.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Another booming, another lengthy field goals.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
As kickers continue to change the game, Chargers kicker Cameron
Dicker got the scoring started a night's game in Arizona
by booming a pretty long bomb of a field goal.
Dicker nailed a kick from fifty nine yards to give
the Chargers of three to nothing lead over the Cardinals
at the time. It was Dicker's career long and ties
a Chargers franchise record for the longest field goal in
team history and another reminder that NFL kickers are getting

(16:24):
so good.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
That they've changed the concept of field goal range.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Coaches used to punt on fourth down from the forty
one yard line. Now they kick field goals. Kickers often
make them with room despair, as Ticker did. Chargers could
be leading by more if not for two crucial fumbles
at that point. What do you think about the way
that the game has sort of changed because of the
range of kickers now?

Speaker 3 (16:45):
I think it's a powerful two If you are a
team that you have a guy who has a strong
leg like that. He comes in in the crutch and
he can always put points on the board. When you
think about Justin Tuck who plays in the Balts Moore,
A wait, I mean when you think anything fifty two,
fifty three, fifty five, you know he can make that

(17:07):
Harrison Bucker for Kansas City, he can make that. I
remember was a Matt Prater when I played for the
Denver Broncos.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
He excelled at that here in Malaha.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
So that's a weapon that sometimes you don't count on.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
But they say it's three phases. His busts team shows
up a bit.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
And I think it really is because I can recall
I remember back in the nineties when you know forty yards,
you know, forty yard field goals were considered the standard,
and it was something that you were like, well, you
know this could be now if it's under fifty and
you miss it, I mean you're getting you know oo mood.
He looks at it and they wat. I think it's
just fascinating how that has changed the game.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
A little bit.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Next story two, Buccaneer's wide receiver Mike Evans scored his
one hundredth career receiving touchdown in the first quarter, departed
for the lack of room in the second quarter. Evans
entered with a hamstring injury, missing two practices before returning
to limited work in the Saturday session. He was opening
the end zone for what would have been a twenty
four yard touchdown and dropped the ball when defensive back

(18:06):
Brandon Stevens wrapped up his ankles. Evans rived and painting
as Baker mayfield signal for the medical staff. The Bucks
ruled Evans out with the hamstring eager for the rest
of the game nearly immediately. Evans's only reception was the
twenty five yard touchdown he caught, which had twenty seven
remaining in the first quarter.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Like Evans got to be a first ballot Hall of
Famer rate.

Speaker 4 (18:26):
Yeah, he checks all the boxes. And one of those things.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
Is longevity, production, production in the back half of your career,
but also winning a Super Bowl, something that he did
with Tom Brady under center. So yes, Mike Williams is
definitely once he retires five years after he should be a.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
Hall of Famer.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
He is the only active player with one hundred receiving touchdowns,
by the way, next to three Well Ell speaking of
receivers and having some issues, the shorthanded forty nine ers
are going to look at everything. Brandon Iuk has been
lost for the year with a torn acl and mcl Pebo.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Samuel has been hospitalized with pneumonia. Juan Jennings this Sunday's.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Loss to the Chiefs with a hip injury and as
a result, the Niners will be looking for possible help
at a receiver. Kyle Shanahan said, well, it makes you
look into everything when you try to look at everything,
regardless obviously the more issues have come up yesterday, you
still want to look into everything, but it has to do.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
With what options are out there.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
Stuff we can pull off that doesn't totally hurt us,
helps us now, doesn't hurt our Future's a lot of
decisions that go into it.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
So we'll look into everything.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
But a lot of times that's just kind of living
in hope. The answers aren't always out there. You gotta
be ready with people that's better in your building and
deal with what you got in your building, and if
you ever find somebody that makes sense, you don't hesitate.
Two big game receivers were traded last week, obviously to
Mount Adams, Ana Moory Cooper. Others could be available, such
as DeAndre Hopkins and Mike Williams. However, it goes the

(19:54):
Niners have been banged up this year between that and
blowing leads against lesser teams, they might have.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
To worry about dealing with the Chiefs in February.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Again, although they should be getting Ricky Pearson back, who
was shot and a robbery attempts earlier this year.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Yeah, I think this is Ricky pearso it's coming back
and a great time. He had about five fantasy points
on Sunday against Kansas City and knowing as though you're
losing brend and Iyuke.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
And to be totally fair, Brend and.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
I, you wasn't really lighting it up from an offensive standpoint,
Juan Jennings. So if you cashed any man, if you're
having to truly make lemonade out of lemons, and we
have to see how this Kendrick trend will continue. But
this is part of the NFL. This is why they
say it's a bat.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
Of Antricia that it is.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Next story four, sticking with the Niners, admit increased chatter
that forty nine ers running back Christian McCaffrey might.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Make his regular season debut.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
Kyle Shanahan's has a much different message yesterday for multiple ports,
Shanahan told reporters on today, then he'll be surprise if
McCaffrey plays, Shanahan said, the more likely outcome is that
McCaffrey will make his twenty to twenty four debut after
the team's Week nine five. In Week ten, the forty
nine ers traveled at Tampa Bay and Achilles. Ten in
issue made McCaffrey a surprise caratch six weeks ago tonight

(21:16):
in the regular season Monday night opener against the Jets.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
He then landed on ir where he has return.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Along the way, he went to Germany to have a
specialist examine the injury. I mean, even without the wide receivers,
getting Chrisian maccaffery back figures to be a big boost
for the forty nine ers.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Yeah, if if for nothing else been, it would just
kind of give the defense something to worry about until
they see cmc in action to determine how productive he
can be. And one thing we know about this College
Sanhan offense, it works well from a passing standpoint when
a running game is own track. So nothing else.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
Maybe from an encouraging boost from a return from CMC.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
Yeah, and you know McCaffrey's guy who can play multiple positions,
does play the running back.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
You can have Jordan Mason. The backfield flexs him out
to the slot. He gives you a little versatility.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
That's as far as some.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Of that stuff goes.

Speaker 4 (22:04):
He's getting ugly. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:08):
Oh, next story five.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Debiko Ryans admits he should have challenged the incompletion that
appeared on a lateral and Texans forced three Packers turnovers
in the first half on Sunday, but should have add
a fourth, but the officials blew a call and Houston
coach Debiko Ryans failed to challenge it to green Bay
at Houston thirty, Jordan Loved three backward passed to Jade
Reed that hit the ground.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Texans picked up.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
The ball, The officials ruled it and incompletion it was
at lateral.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Should have been Texans ball.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
CBS rules analys Chief's territory called it close, but agreed
after watching.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
Replays that Lee was behind Love when the receiver touched
the ball.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
The Packers hurried in the line, knowing it might be
a lateral, and Love found Dontavian Wicks for a thirty
yard touchdown to give Green Bay a fourteen ted Lee
Texans took two time outs into the locker room with
him a halftime as well. Ryan said, for the guys upstairs,
it wasn't they thought it was forward. I mean, looking
back at it, should I challenge it? Yes, it's always
you look back in.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Hindsight's twenty twenty, you maybe throw it there. I look
at myself.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
I wish I would have thrown it there, just to
force them to make a decision.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Ryan's is two for five on challenges.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
In his career, oh for two.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
This year, that challenge might.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
Have been the difference in the game in terms of
the score between Houston and Green Bay.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
What do you think about coaches admitting they should have
challenged them.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
I think it's great because you know, when coaches look
at players, they want you to make sure that you
are accountable for the things that you do.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
So I think it's only fair that coaches start manning
up now. I have to be honest about the situation.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
But a lot of coaches who make bad calls with
clock management and especially the two men in four minute
offense and rarely do they man up and come to
the podium and say, you know what, that's on me.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
I should have done something differently.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
Usually they passed the buck to someone else. Okay, well
this happened as a reason why this other thing took place.
So as a POLMA co worker teammate of Demigo Ryans
and man big up to him from actually being a
being a coach and saying you know what this was
on me.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Yeah, that's the reason I bookmarked this is you got
a coach. It's taking accountability. Of course, it's sitting there
and being public about that.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
I think that goes a.

Speaker 6 (24:13):
Long way too.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
You see a coach out.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Front taking accountability like that on something that it could
have passed. The bucke Hunter just you know, just just
kind of sloughed the question off and let it go.
And he, you know, he really took ownership of that.

Speaker 6 (24:24):
I thought it was a big deal. Next story, Sick.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
Mike McDonald says DK Metcalf doesn't have a long term injury,
but it's available as uncertain for Sunday.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Sex coach Mike McDonald.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
Confirmed wide receiver DK Metcalf had a minor medical collateral
ligament spring that Donald goes unsure about whether Metcalf will
play against the Bills, saying quote, doesn't look like a
long term injury. Being Michael Sean Duger of the athletic timeline,
I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
Doesn't look like it's a long term injury. You guys
know DK.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
We know DK.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
He's gonna probably do anything humanly possible to play in
this game.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
I would imagine we'll assess that as the week on folds.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Metcalf had more catches for ninety nine yards and a
touchdown against the Falcons on Sunday, giving him five hundred
and sixty eight yards of the season. Only Bengals receiver
Jamark Chase, who sixty to twenty yards, has more. Metcalf
injured his knee on a hit from Falcons safety Justin Simmons.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
It caused him the land awkwardly. He was carted to
the X ray room.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Jake Bobo, and he catches for sixty six yards on
the season, would see more time if Metcalf can't play.
Darik Young and Leviska Channault, who you've mentioned the Broncos
should trade for.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Would also help fill in.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
McDonald.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Sidey has a huge amount of confidence in all the
team's receivers, adding that the Seahawks could also use more
twelve personnel.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
It's one back and two tight ends and.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Twenty two personnel, two running backs, two tight ends if needed.
There's a lot of options at our disposal. You're ever
gonna fill the shoes of the DK Metcalf and you
can find ways to work around it. How big a
loss is DK Metcalf for the e Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
It's a huge loss considered the fact that how Geno
Smith has been playing over the past couple of weeks.
D Kay has been the instrument part of it. But
we know once again the NFL's it's tough. This is
why I told you you got to lean on your
depth and you hope that you don't have a lot.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Of major injuries at key positions, but if you do, you.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Got to come up with other ways to find offensive production.
And coach McDonald's right, I mean, twelve personnel is there
for him to take advantage of it because there are
the big targets he could throw two down the field.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
Yeah, I mean, I don't think that this is a
you know, a something that derails Seattle's offense per se,
but it certainly does put a wrench of things if
he's out for an extended period of time. Seahawks one
of the most past happy teams in the NFL, and
obviously you know, got in there and stake one against Atlanta,
going all the way East coast in the early game
against Atlanta in the game, and I don't think a

(26:40):
lot of people expected them to win.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
This weekend would be a big blow there.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
It might be.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
It might be good to see Lemis because shen Alton actually,
who knows, maybe a good game might convince thee the
bron Coast maybe make a move there and get the
get the receiver.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
Possibly, it all depends on how one is used in
the offense. But it opens the door for more total
touches for the viscous Nault.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
As we look forward to this Panthers game, what do
we need to see out of the Broncos coming up?

Speaker 3 (27:08):
Like?

Speaker 2 (27:08):
What are we looking in this game?

Speaker 1 (27:09):
I mean, we write it down, we circle it as
winnable based on what the Panthers have done this season,
although they did come out I believe punch the Raiders
in the mouth in.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
One of those games. What do the Broncos need to
do to make sure this game just does not get
away from him.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
Just be consistent, man.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
It just you can't take four steps forward in fifteen
steps backwards.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
Right.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
And now you have an opportunity to come back home
establish a two game winning streak when you know that
you're getting into the think of your schedule, when you've
got Kansas City and Baltimore.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
You just want to come out.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
He play solid football, do what they have been doing
on the defensive side of the ball, and tackle and
tackle well. But offensively, man, just keep grinding out, keep
that rhythm going. And they found a way to have
more of a creative offensive game plan. I'm eager to
see how they take that step forward with that or
do they decide to go, hey, listen, we did that

(28:08):
one week for this short week.

Speaker 4 (28:09):
It was fine.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
This revert back to what we were doing before. I
don't want to see the Broncos do that. Take what
you did Thursday night and continue.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
To build on it.

Speaker 6 (28:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
I you know, as I look at.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
This game, I think the thing that I off the
bat I'm looking at and the question that I have
said pats Er Tampa is is he back from the concussion.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
How much do you let him play in that game.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
And you are you trying to save him a little
bit more for maybe Baltimore Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
If I'm the Broncos brass, I'm gonna sit here this
This should be a game that the Broncos should be
able to win without PS two because the Mario Manthis
and Levi Wallace, those guys are on.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
The depth chart and you and this is why they're here.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
They're here for these particular moments to give PS two
the rest that he needs so he's ready to go
for those all the two important games.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Do you think that? And this was something I had
a discussion with somebody earlier today, was if you do
six or ten, this is a great opportunity to get
reps for a guy like to Maury Mathis and give
confidence for the rest of that secondary that they can
maul even without certain and there.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Well, yeah, you have to do that because you know
at some point during the season you're gonna have to
lean on all of your guys, and this is an
opportunity to allow Damar Matthis and Levi Wallace and whomever
else the Broncos need to feel as though need to
get into the rotation even if they're not starters.

Speaker 4 (29:34):
It's about getting those.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
Guys quality minutes and experience so they are ready for
the back half of the schedule. But more importantly, you
are continually to you continue to evaluate your.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
Roster and if there were any concerns.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
That you had as far as look at guys on
expiring deals, wanted to make some moves, this is.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
An opportunity to do that.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
You could play with your roster here and there, see
what guys elevate their play, and see what guys fallow back,
and then now help you make the decisions.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
Need to make.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Is it time to have some tough questions about who's
gonna get paid on that edge rush rotation? Because Paron
Browning is gonna be doing up for a contract, John
Cooper's do up for a contract. You got Nick Benito,
you drafted Ellis you figure one of those guys as
an odd man out and honestly, John Cooper is probably
cheaper and probably a better option.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Well, the great thing about it the Broncos are in
the driver's seat. They get a chance to sit back,
put their feet up and watch this whole thing unfold.
Knowing as though you have Nick Benito still on a
rookie deal. Jonah Ellis on a rookie deal. You got
two guys a Baron Browning and Jonathan Cooper that you say, okay, well,
which one of you guys are gonna get us across
the finish line first? So it is where every player

(30:43):
wants to be, where your value is determined about what
you do on the feel if you want to get paid,
you got to look over it to a guy that
you know very well and say, look, man, you my boy,
you my dog.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
But I gotta go eat. Yeah, I gotta go eat
because my family gotta eat.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
You think that's an awkward situation given that those guys
were college teammates, pro teammates, so both of them are
conta money.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
We know how this game works. I mean, you got
to have and you got to have nots.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
So you got to decide right now from your love
of execution where you want to be. Both both of
those guys in the driver's sea. So they get a
chance to compete against one.

Speaker 4 (31:22):
Another, and you see, well who's gonna mirror the victor
at the air.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
We got a chance to talk about that in depth tomorrow.
Steve Hatwater, I believe you gonna join us.

Speaker 6 (31:30):
Tomorrow as well.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Brought those country tonight live at the Sporty pickle Bar Drill.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
That's been Albrighty's Nick Ferguson well
