Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, come to it, Broncos Country tonight. But with all Bride,
Dick Ferguson, Grant Smith over you're rooting for in the
World Series. I think one thing we can all agree
on is that the Steel a Base, Steel a Taco campaign,
which is not being run this year, is a devastating
blow to us all as Americans.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
News to me, I know, the one thing that united us.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
The left, the right, the Red, the Blue, Yankees, Dodgers,
Steel A Base, Steel a Taco united us.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Taco Bell tried to divide us by getting rid of
the promotion.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
See that's not why Taco Bell did that, because no, well,
well they will definitely lose money and this series. So
they realized, you know, looking at the two teams and
how skilled they had as far as base runners, we're concerned.
They were like, yeah, no, we're not gonna do that.
We're not gonna do it because even last year when

(00:46):
they did it, and the years in the past, I mean, yeah,
you would have winners every now and again, but you
were not having an annoymous.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Amount of people. So it was a great campaign.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
But you look at this series within itself, the Dodgers
and the Yankees. Yeah, you would lose a lot of money.
So sorry, Grant, Sorry about that.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Grant was banking on that in an election year where
and we're getting pulled apart. Seriously, the one thing that
we unite is free tacking, free tago.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
They're taking that away from us. This is the real
fall of America.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
The client of the Roman Empire five six sixty nine
zero is the text line. I got a few texts
in here. Appreciated some of these. Brian saying we have
a splendid radio program. Appreciate that. Brian, uh the four
one ol says, I think we'll trade for Alvin Kamara.
I don't think that's happening. They extended tomorrow. That makes
a trade there practically impossible.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Someone nice.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
As I finished thirteen to fifteen the last two weeks,
was it take the finish in the running? I'm assuming
they're talking about the pro pick them challenge.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Yeah, that's what I guess.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
If you finished with the best, then you should have
got an email and they'll tell you you know what
you could do to claim you're believe. It's a two
hundred dollars weekly gift card and then the grand prize
winners one thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Someone must have got fourteen or fifteen.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Yeah, there was.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
The last two weeks have been pretty good as far
as it because I only missed one.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Game two weeks ago, that was the Broncos game because
the Chargers, and then.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
I think that got me too.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
And there's one or two last week as well, so
you know right up there now. Obviously I'm not ultimate
to win, but the non iHeart employees, that's that's how
you do that. We got a game come up here
tomorrow on KOA is The CU Buffs are taking on
the Cincinnati Bearcats. Both teams three and one in Conference
five and two overall.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Buffs need to win obviously to keep pace.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
You've got three teams that are ranked in the Big
twelve b YU, Iowa State and Kansas State.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
CE.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
You can can make some noise as some of those
teams will cannibalize each other a little bit late down
the stretch.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
But is this a must win for c.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
You are the all must wins at this point since
you've already dropped two.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
No, I'm not gonna say it's it's a must win.
I mean, listen, see, you has won more games this
year than they won over the past four years and
the claim that the cu Bus have here locally but
nationally in that level of respect, I mean, it is
definitely out there. So right now that theyest thing for them,

(03:01):
they're just trying to get another win to get them
closer to being Bowl eligible. That's kind of the biggest
issue for them. And last week they had a drubbing
of Arizona and they're now looking to continue that against
the Bearcat something I think that they can do, and
they can do it if Pat Shermer and Shador Sanders

(03:24):
looked to get multiple receivers involved, and because.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
I think it was last week against Arizona that.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Their great wide receiver Slash dB, you know, he didn't
play in that game, so Shador had to look for
other outlets because you know, Travis Hunter wasn't playing right.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
The Cincinnati Bearcats have two losses by a combined four
points on the road of Texas Tech and then a
home game to pitt who's ranked number nineteen twenty eight
twenty seven US by one in that one.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
In terms of common.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Opponents, they played Central Florida Cincinna beat them nineteen thirteen,
so certainly didn't have the offense against their defense that
the Colorado Buffaloes had, but definitely held their run game
in check and only thirteen points a lot since they
doesn't run the ball very effectively ninety fourth and in
the NCAA and rushing yards, but they do throw the
ball pretty well thirty six and passing two hundred and
seventy nine passing yards per game, thirty third overall in

(04:19):
total yards per game.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
As the offense does does play pretty well.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Brady Lickenberg, of course, their their quarterback there, Corey Kiner
the main running back of the priory. They kind of
the one two punch there, and they spread the ball around.
Xavier Henderson is is their primary receiver, but Joe Royer,
Tony Johnson, Jaboy Mays, all those guys get plenty of
catches as well. When you look at when you look
at what they do, they they've got four guys, five

(04:46):
six guys that they spread the ball around to Sterling,
buck Alter, Manykovee come on a little bit uh as well,
and all six have caught touchdowns pretty evenly.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Four two, three, one one two.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
So you know you're looking at a team that isn't
one of those teams where you shut one thing down,
you shut them down.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
No, that's not the case.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
But here's what I like about this particular matchup, because
in the last two previous games, when you look at
Robert Livingston defense, they have been leaky as far as
run yards are concerned. When it comes to the past,
they have had their issues, but usually they play pretty
well in the back end. It's just those run plays.

(05:28):
I just go back to the Nebraska game. You go
back to the KSE State game and how k State
running back was able to get whatever he wanted whenever
he wanted to get it and known as though the Bearcat.
They don't have that type of running back tandem that
can actually chew up yards on the ground.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
So I think from that regard, it.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Plays directly in the hands of the CU buffs. Now
the officer side of the ball for the CU Buffs
I mentioned it earlier. Can Schador Sanders continue to spread
the all around to other receivers not named Travis Henry
because I mean Lejonta Western, I mean Will Shepperd. You
have other guys who have shown as though they can

(06:10):
make big plays like last week that one arm grab
and that toll tag swag that will Shepherd had to
get that that touchdown right before half. This is what
the CU Buff's offense is capable of, but it's spreading
the ball around that It is something they're gonna need
to do and have the ability to have like a

(06:31):
four minute offense where you just have the ability to
ground out the clock and usually you do that band.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
With the run game.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
But I think with short passes that are efficient, I
think Pat Sherman, Shade or Sanders can get that done Tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Well, they're gonna need it.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
They're definitely going to need to be able to uh
to move the ball effectively. This is an offense they
don't score points. They can they can score points on you.
They can theyn go to totel with you. They do
have a pretty good pass rusher and Jared Bartlett he's
got four and a half sacks on the Eric Phillips
has four of his own. Not a whole lot in
the secondary you really have to worry about. Josh Minkins

(07:03):
has a pair of interceptions. But offensively then go ton
of toe with you.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Yeah they can and well, once again, I don't want
to say that this is a game that for sure
the Buffs are going to win, because you never want
to get too high.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
You never want to get too low. We've seen games this.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Season where Coach Prime is set after games like this
was a game we should have won, and I'm referencing
that the Kansas State game. But you never want to
take anyone for granted. But keep in mind that there's
a bigger goal for Coach Prime in the twenty twenty
four cu Buffs and it's getting you know, Miss Peggy

(07:40):
to that Bowl game.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
They can do that starting tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
And I know there's been a lot of issues as
far as having the game being played at eight fifteen,
And I know one of the reasons why Coach Prime
is saying that because his team historically has had some
late starts, first offensive defense, and they love to play
in that prime time spot like daytime. They like to

(08:05):
just get up in the morning, go to the field,
play the game, have it over. Just kind of sitting
around waiting, waiting until eight o'clock to play the game.
It just seems as though it takes a little office team.
So we'll see how they.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Actually show up in this eight o'clock spotlight.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Again, Let's say that was my one question is does
this eight o'clock spotlight, change anything or or you know,
effect anything for you as far as this cost Cincinnati
from the East coast or not really quit the East coast,
but almost the East coast over in the East time zone.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
You're talking about, you know, a ten o'clock at night
football game.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Well, for me, it's more about the cu buffs and
sometimes they're slow starts. Of course, they like the spotlight
and of those night games the atmosphere because once again
it provides an opportunity for whatever celebrities that are in
town to actually show up. But I think from a
player's standpoint, some of those players would rather play that

(08:59):
game earlier in the day applosed to.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Playing it later on in the evening.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
You know, I've talked previously about the hip drop tackle.
Chris god went allegedly injured on a hip drop tackle.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
I don't know if you saw the replay on that.
What do you think about? What do you think about that?

Speaker 4 (09:14):
That's a bunch of couch shifts if you ask me.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
I mean, Adam Schefter tweeted something out and as soon
as I saw it, I just hopped on it and
retweeted and added my comments because I know there's a
heavy emphasis, more so now than even when I played
about players' health and safety. But at the same time,
what do you want Roquan Smith to do in that

(09:39):
particular situation. Chris Godwin is trying to get vertical. He's
coming from the side, and the last time that I
heard the hip drop tackle, you're grabbing a guy and
you are lowering your body weight. Yes, but if you
go back and look at it, Roquan is coming in
from Chris Godwin's left and he makes the tackle. So

(10:03):
when you think about velocity, you think about Wait, I
know you a guy that loves all this mathematical stuff.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Like you can't do those calculations in your head running
at full speed.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
No, And that's my point.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
But I'm just saying, running that full speed at that
you know velocity with that body mass and hitting another
man that you're much larger than, there's gonna be some
movement and all of a sudden you fall on the
ground and then my.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
Body falls on his. He gets hurt injured. How's that
my fault? Yeah? I really didn't.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
I mean, I don't personally think it's ro Quand Smith's fault.
I think it's one of those bang bang plays that happens,
and you know those kinds of things. I like the
hip drop tackle in and of itself, Like to me,
that was such a minor occurrence. Anyway, how many times
did you see a hip drop tackle even occurring over
the course of a season, about three or four times?
Guys try to throw their hits down like that doesn't
it just does not occur that often.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
No, no, it does not that purpose. No, no, it's not.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
And and once again, when you think about football and
being in Chase Mo, think about the game within angles, right,
I mean, you're not going to have the ability to
face the guy up every single time and have that
textbook tackle. That doesn't exist, And it's just like bringing
the guy down however, you can't. But obviously you don't

(11:16):
want to do it in that particular way. And I
don't see what Roqua Smith what he did was something
that was very malicious.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Yeah, I didn't find I mean, just look at the replay.
I didn't see malicious intent there at all. I just
saw a guy who was trying to get a guy
on the ground.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
But shouldn't that be the example or the context of
which we're talking about As far as the tackle you
are looking for a malicious intent.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Yeah, and I believe that should be a part of it,
the spirit of what is going on versus you know,
what actually happened in a bang bang play as far
as that kind of stuff goes. Broncos adjusting to life
post Alex Singleton, I think done a pretty good job
rotating the guy assume that they have, whether it's been
Christian Wells, Justice or not, quant Alexander, whomever they they've
rotated through it. Obviously, Cody Partner's really stepped up and

(11:59):
become a U you know, player of the week as
far as that kind of stuff goes. So it feels
to me like the post Alex singles and era this
season hasn't released.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Need to drop off. Well see that that's the good
part of it.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
The bad part obviously you want Alex Singleton to be
in the lineup because it's changes so much, But uh
kawan Alexander and Cody Bartman to me, I want to
see that tandem to say how they worked job bab when.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
We lost lost Alex in Tampa. Man.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Sometimes sometimes you.

Speaker 5 (12:33):
Don't know necessarily what you have until you have to
play him, and so whether it's uh, Cody's or not
or all those guys have done a good job. And
we've got a couple of packages where some of them
are on the field and then others. But I would
say I have been real policed, I think defensively danced,
and those guys.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
That have done a good job with that, Yeah, I
think they have done a great job with that. I
think that the personnel have stepped up.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
And you know, it felt like when that happened, oh,
it's going to be a huge blow to a great defense.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
I don't think they've noticed.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
No, I mean, you may not notice in that regard,
but you have somewhat of an idea of what that
was like within the defense, having Alex Singleton in that
huddle and the leadership that he.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Brings every single game.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
But that's the crazy thing about this particular game that
we love college football, is that at any point the
player A gets injured, the team in the.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
Game is going to move on, and.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
You hope that it doesn't move on too quickly without you.
And let me give you really quickly some numbers. If
we were comparing twenty twenty three to twenty twenty four,
so when you look at average points per game the
Broncos last year was twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Part of that affected by the Miami game, but still
it wasn't great. Even if you take that out, it
was still middle to row, right.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
So that third now.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Now, when you look at yards per game last season,
this time twenty ninth now four yards per play thirtieth
last year second now. And when you look at the
Broncos offensive line when it comes to sacks, their time
for first with nine. And when you look at the
Broncos defense as far as sacks may, that's second in

(14:20):
the league with twenty eight. Yeah, so when you talk
about playing complimentary football, that is something that we're seeing
right now, even though the Broncos offense is still not
where they need to be. And sometimes you need to
win ugly games and win ugly, and the Broncos have
been able to do that well just to prove you can.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
You got to learn how to win before you can
learn how to win pretty, you know.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
And whatever gripes we have with Sean Payne and I
have quite a few, you can't say.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
This team hasn't gotten better.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
You can't say they've gotten beat they I mean, by
your numbers, they've gotten better across the board. A lot
of that has to do with Vance Joseph and everybody
want to fire him after Miami last year. Look where
they are now. Sometimes maybe being emotionally reactive week to
week is not the best thing, and maybe let things
play out.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Well, sometimes you definitely have to allow those things to
play out, and rightfully so, giving Vance Joseph a lot
of praise for where this team is, not just where
the defense, but where the team is right now.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
This team, the Broncos, wouldn't be where they are.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
At this particular moment if it were not for the
defense being able to force turnovers and put the offense
in advantageous positions.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Well, we're going to be in an advantageous position here.
In a minute, we do the NFL six pack, we'll
be back and as usual, it's time for the NFL
six pack. It's time for the NFL six pack.

Speaker 5 (15:39):
I'm going to take a lot of insight and insight
information you can't find anywhere else.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
No.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Six the top six NFL headline.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
What Well, the superpower of Cowboys owner and general manager
Jerry Jones isn't building a great football team. It's building
great interest in a football team. Appearing Friday on one
to five to three The Fan in Dallas. Joe said
that the recent story on ESPN about his habit of
conducting paid fan tours the practice.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Facility on a daily base is a good.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Thing and says it will increase our tours significantly. Jones
pushed back against claim that the tours impact results and
said it's ridiculous to think that it impacts the play
of players. I don't know if it's ridiculous to think
the preventing players from having true sanctuary doesn't impact their
overall mental weal, health and well being. Everybody needs a
place to work without intrusion or distraction.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
The Cowboys apparently.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Don't have that at all because Jones wants to turn
their respite into yet another revenue stream. Definitely should be
a factor for free agents, who, all things equal, can
choose between playing in a place where they could focus on
their jobs and playing in a place where they can
never get a break from the expectation that they are
provided entertainment for the customers. The recent article in ESPN
about all the tours going on, we saw our own

(16:48):
former backup quarterback Pindanucci even blasting it on Twitter. What
do you think about that. What do you think about
Jerry Jones saying it's a good thing.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
Well, that's Jerry being Jerry. Talk about trying to make
a doll out of fifteen cents. I mean that that's
the Jerry you know motto, and he's gonna find some
way to make his team popular again. This this goes
back to the branding of the Cowboys being labeled as
America's team when they haven't been that over some times.

(17:19):
It can't it be distracting, Yeah, it can, But there
is a way that you can do it then where
you have people coming in as long as it's not
trickling over and impacting the players on the field.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Yeah, I mean that that's the thing. If you can
separate that one from the other. I've certainly said we've
seen it on our own when we got right now
we're at the Kiawai studios at your Heart building. What
we broadcast from the studios down there at the valley. Yeah,
we got people on tours that are down there tapping
on the glass and you kind of feel like a
little bit like a zoo animal just from from being
the radio as much less to be a player working out.

Speaker 5 (17:53):
You know, so.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
I to me, I, you know, I don't find those
things necessarily beneficial, but Jerry Jones, being Jerry, certainly loves
any and all publicity. Two before the Rams won two
games in five days to move into a freeway tie
for second place in the NFC West, they were trying
to trade Cooper Cupp. After moving from one to four
to three and four, the Rams apparently decided not to
do the thing they were trying to do and try

(18:14):
to pretend they were never trying to do it and
call out all those who are reporting they were trying
to do the thing they were definitely trying to do.
Sean McVay said, here's what I'll tell you, team's reached out.
Some of the things I've seen out there are true.
We've addressed that with those individuals. Teams have called about
him and we let him know what the dialogue was there.
And then there's a lot of stuff out there that
there's not a lot of accountability of the reports, and
that's unfortunate. The Rams addressed any of the reports about

(18:36):
the Rams actually calling teams about trading for Cup and
the Rams were initiating calls to do so.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
We certainly haven't seen any retractions on that. Doubt that
we will.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
Any team that is trying to trade for a player
has no reason to say that multiple teams are talking
to the team for which the player plays. Reports like
that only make it harder to close the deal, because
so the teams will come to the table and compete.
The Rams, for their part, didn't say squat when they
were trying to trade for Matt Stafford. It's possible that

(19:05):
vay doesn't know that less Sneed and Ken and Dimoff
were out there shopping Cooper Cup to other team. I
guess I understand that the Rams trade their mind, it
changed their mind forgetting the three and four getting back.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
In the thick of it.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
But why deny that you were trying to do something
that you were one hundred percent trying to do well.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Because you're coming off of a very emotional controversial when
itself and Cooper's return, he looked better than he did
before his injury, and you knew you were going to
fill questions.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
About Cooper Cup.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
So Sean McVay decided that he was going to jump
out and get ahead of the situation and say, you
know what, that's not what we were trying to do
and talk about the stories and accountability. Where's your accountability
because those stories don't get out there just by chance,
someone inside the building is saying something to someone else.
As usually how this happens.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
I found out about it from somebody from another team
that they had called see.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
But we have every reason to believe the rams here.
They're never leaving.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Saint Louis Free, Dolphins quarterback to him talking I loos
back from concussion that has side led him since Week two.
He will start on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, and
he is being urged to take extra precautions to keep
himself available.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniels says it's been made.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Clear to talk about Lola that the franchise needs him
to slide, get out of bounds, throw the ball away,
and otherwise avoid the kind of contact that.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Could lead to another concussion.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Daniel said, I think he has a better understanding of
his responsibility to the organization at this point. My answer
would be, you don't need that one this time around.
Dolphins running back where he mostered, said, teammates are urging
him to take care of himself.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
I've been talking to him ever since his injury. I've
been telling him, hey, you need to be work on sliding.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Mostard said, we all joke around, laugh but on a
serious note, he knows he has to protect himself better
and moving forward, he can only control those things. To Dolphins,
wide receiver Tyreek Hill wants fans to get involved. Said,
when we're playing against the Colts and you see fans
start to clapping Richardson when he slid, our fans need
to clap for Tua.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
To make him slide.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
I again, this is one of those situations we go
back and forth on what we think of it personally
to it, he is playing, he is starting. What do
you think about teammates and the front office encouraging him
to slide.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
Well, I think that's the right thing to do.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
It's proper to get him to slide. I mean, no
need to play hero ball at all. And you got
to think about there's a lot of large investment into it,
and I know he has that warrior's cold, but the
ideas being there and available to go out there and
produce with your teammates. So hopefully he adheres to it

(21:40):
and he decides to slide before.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
There's a chance Commander's quarterback Jade and Daniels will play
on Sunday against the Bears. Daniels officially questionable for the matchup,
which Chicago was limited in today's practice, didn't practice yesterday
or Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
Daniels said after the session that he wants to play,
but the decision isn't really up to him. Coach Dan
Quintle reporters in.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
His Friday news conference at Washington wonk Daniels pretty hard
and the club wants to see how he responds to
the next couple of days. Number two overall pick for
this past draft, Daniels has completed seventy five point six
percent of his passes for fourteen hundred and ten yards,
six touchdowns, two picks, and also run for three hundred
and seventy two yards with four touchdowns. Daniels cannot play
on Sunday. Marcus Mariot it would be in line to start. Additionally,

(22:22):
the Commanders have ruled out offensive tackle Brandon Coleman because
of a concussion. He did not practice all week. All
the rest of Washington's players are set to play. What
do we think about Jayden Daniels potentially not playing on
Sunday against the Bears.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
I think it's a smart This is because the injury
is somewhat of a soft tissue injuries to the ribs
and I don't know if you've ever had that injury laughing,
trying or even going to the bunio.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
Sometimes it can be issued.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
So you don't want to put Daniel's in a situation
where he misses.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
An extended amount of time.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
I mean, you still in the thick of it if
you are the I just think commanders, and like you
said earlier, when you look at Marcus Mariota being able
to go in and started to make plays, that makes
things a little easy for you and everyone would love
to have that backup quarterback that could come in and
uh in case of emergency.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Five well, someone who is coming back. Roccos corner Pats
are tag.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Clear from concussion protocol, has no injury designation for Sunday.
He will return to play against the Panthers after missing
the Week seven game against the Saints, which came four
days after being diagnosed with a concussion. So Tam returned
to practice this week as a full participant all three
days and said, I'm feeling good. Everything feels back to normal.
Ready to get back out there for the guys for sure.

(23:39):
Rocos list safety PJ. Locke has doubtful after missing the
past two days of practice with a thumb injury.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
He was listed Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Devin Key would be the starter in his stead Offensive
tackle Alec Pelshwski, with an ankle listed is questionable yet
three limited practice, did not play against the Saints.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Right tackle Mike McGlinchey.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
The knee improved a full participant, has no injury designation
and will be out there on Sunday. Looks like a
pretty good injury report for the Broncos overall, outside of
p J.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
Locke. Well, yeah, it does not having a.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
Lot of players injured, especially when the Broncos are trying
to keep that momentum going and kind of reverse the
fact of what the home record has been thus far
and the idea of Devin Key. I mean, obviously you
don't want any player to be injured on having any
type of injury, but this gives Devin Key an opportunity
to really show what he can actually do. Had a

(24:32):
chance to really see Devin Key up close and personal
during my time evaluating talent for the Denver Broncos, and
hopefully he takes advantage of it because I think he
is a young talent that the Broncos.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
If he Brown's in the formed, he'd.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
Been another weapon for Manson Joseph.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
Yeah, to me, I mean throwing Patzertan out there. Obviously
going to start him, but that might be one. I
put him on a bit of a pitch count try
to save him for. Like I said that, that's Lena
games coming up against Baltimore, Kansas City and the out
of Falcons.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
Sick cruncles.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Good Sean Payton said today that receiver Josh Reynolds is
recovering after being shot a week ago. He's fortunate, Peyton said.
By our good buddy Parker Gabriel the Never Post. Obviously
the league local authorities are handling that. I've had a
chance to talk with him. It's pretty shaken up. I'll
leave it at that. Josh Reynolds was shot in the
left arm and the back of the head while leaving
a gentleman's club at two forty five in the morning

(25:23):
on October eighteenth. Renolds was not seriously injured. According to
the team, another man was shot in the back. Peyton
spoke to the team at the incident of Friday pointed
out players at counseling and other resources available to him.
Renald's attendant practice today as he did the previous two days.
He is on injured reserve with a fractured finger that
required minor surgery, which is why he wasn't with the
team for the trip to Orleans last week in the
first place. It's crazy knowing that, if you think about it,

(25:46):
he could have easily lost one of our teammates, and
not only that, but a very close brother to me,
a very close teammate to me and my family. That's
by Garrett Bowles. There's never anything in this world, no time,
no plays, no altercation on nothing that justifies trying.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
To take someone's life.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
On Wednesday, de Ever Police announced the arrest of Burr, Charlesworth,
and Luis Mendoza in the case involving Reynolds. This would
kind of went under the radar a little bit until
it blew up yesterday. Part of that, I think some
of us couldn't report on, you know, some medical stuff,
so we were you know, we're allowed to talk about that,
But now that it's out there in the public domain,
I guess we can. Reynolds very fortunate to get away

(26:21):
after being shot twice with no real injuries to the
back of the head and.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
The left arm.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Talk about fleeting and sort of I don't know harkens
back to maybe one of your teammates and Darrek Williams.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Damn Ben, I don't know what to do with that.
Nothing good happens after midnight, as you're fond of saying.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
No, it doesn't.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
You got me with the Derek Williams comparison, because that's
always tough in the reminder of how we lost him
and what.

Speaker 4 (26:55):
Our team actually went through.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
So I'm glad that the Broncos Karl, they don't have
to deal with that.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
Fortunate, very very fortunate.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
And my advice he guys is to look out for
one another, be consciously aware of where you go, but
more importantly, be consciously aware of who is aware of you.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
That's the biggest thing.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
I think that's great advice too, because as players, I
think you guys sometimes lose track of that.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
You don't realize that.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
On the other side of that, people around the room
are cognizant of who you are, what you've got in
your pocket, what you got on your wrist, what you've
got around your neck very.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
True because as players, you're trying to settle in and
you're trying to be a regular person, and while some
fans see you as that, others don't.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
I've witnessed this.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
I mean I've seen I've been at the same establishment
late at night with some players before, and I've seen
the way that other people are eyeballing that, casing that
as it were. You know, people are out there, they're
spending money, and they're looking at the guy who's got
more money, saying, you know, I could get me a
piece of that if I we get out to the
parking lot. That kind of situation, and there's at times

(28:05):
with players a lack of situational awareness because you're just
being a regular dude and forgetting that there are other
people case in that saying they'll know you're not.

Speaker 4 (28:13):
Yeah, that is.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
And then what it produces, Ben is that I mean,
everyone has the right to protect their property and themselves
when they go out, and now because of a situation
like that, it could escalate to a point where you know,
guys legally using things to or carrying things that can

(28:35):
protect them and everyone has the right to do just
that under a Second Amendment and to me, you don't
want things to escalate to that particular point. So I
would once again, I would tell guys, be consciously aware.
If you don't have to go to certain places, don't.
If you do, make sure that you have the proper
people with you who are there to help protect you.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
I talked to a former NFL player today who said
that he is putting something in front of NFL teams
about players, current players maybe reporting to the team that
you're going to going to certain establishments ahead of time
and making that part of their contract that they just
have to let them know they're doing that headtime, so
security knows that kind of thing to check in with
them at the end of the evening.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
Well, for me, you don't have to tell the team that.
I mean, it's none of them business. It just shouldn't be.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
But I mean, he's putting this in front of teams
as a suggestion, as a contract suggestion.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
So that's why where I wanted to go with this.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Okay, well, we have to be very careful because if
you put that out there to certain teams, certain teams
that use that against you to take shave a little
off your contract. So for me, the best thing would
be to do is you don't have to include the
team in those types of situations. What you could do
is tell the establishment that you are coming in advance. Yeah,

(29:53):
if that means you have to slide through the back door,
slide through the back door and go out through the
back door, that would kind of be the idea to
let them know, because when when players go into places,
it helps though whatever the establishment is, be good or bad.

Speaker 4 (30:08):
It helps them. Well.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Yeah, and when you're inside those establishments, security and the
VIP generally take care of the players. But once you
leave those doors, I mean, bro, those are open parking lots.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Once you wait, either you have you hire some guys
who go with you, or once a gain you get
security off you need. Yeah, hey listen, man, we're rolling
out hit us or a car now. And the one
thing they cannot do, there's no motivated to get you
to your get home, right, So you still need to
be consciously aware of what's going on around.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
The car service could could assist with something with the
situation like that as well.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
Well.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
They probably should be doing if you've been.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
Drinking, well, I mean that's if you are in that case,
if you're drinking, yes, in a situation where someone is
trying to threaten you with bodily harm.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Their car service isn't really helping that security.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
It's not gonna help.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
So, I uh, I know longer work in that line
of work, but I do know guys, if you need
security that you can reach out.

Speaker 4 (31:04):
To, maybe maybe you should reach out to the team
and let that be known.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
But yeah, there's a group of former vets that I
know that you know, that's what they do, provide security
with kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
So hey, the guy ex military guys, that is what
they're known for. So Broncos plays anyone, Listen, Hey, if
you need to do that, then you gotta get out.
You just have to get out at a certain time
at night. Make and you're going into certain areas. Once again,
keep that in mind, right, you may want to make
sure that you have somebody with you.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
The Broncos taking on the Panthers this weekend. Obviously you
can hear the call right here on KOA. We talked
about this. I'll be starting things off at eight am
in the morning. We talked about picking this game, which
started off, as said, the Broncos two and a half
point favorites.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
Now they are eleven point favorites.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
You think that line is gonna move by Sunday.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
I've had eleven points. There's a lot of points.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
Seventy three percent of bets, eighty four percent of money
on the Broncos minus eleven the over runners started forty one.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Really hasn't moved.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
Eighty two percent of bets, sixty percent of money on
the over on the money line, ninety eight percent of bets,
ninety six percent of money on the Broncos in this one.
Do you think they cover the eleven? Yes, grant, of course,
we all know. I put a bet in a twenty.
Move the line to twenty. We'll see if I cash
on that goes the Broncos Country nights, you do O
