Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, do it Broncos Country tonight. But with all Brian Nick, Ferguson,
Grant Smith, I'm gonna go straight out to the Kiaway
Common Spirital Upline and bring on our good friend Samantha Pravadismanthad.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
He's good to hear your voice again.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Thank you so much for having me back. I'm really
excited to hear your voice as well.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Yeah, well, I need a little assistance.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I've been muddling through my fantasy football year this year
because I had the number one overall pick and I
took Christian McCaffrey like an idiot. But he's coming back soon.
But I've been muddling through to a five hundred record.
Picked up a few along the way, obviously, Godwin, you
know that that hurt with him going down. But I
did pick up Cedric Tillman, So I'm I'm doing okay there.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
But is there anybody out there I should have my
eye on that may.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Be sitting out there that's primed for a second half
of the season surge?

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Oh sure? So yeah, rip to anyone who did have
Christian McCaffrey. I know that was a really hard blow
for a lot of people, but hopefully you've got Jordan
Mason off of the waiver wire a number of guys
you mentioned. Cedric Tillman, he is a guy that I
definitely think could be in the four A big week
this week versus the Chargers. He's consensus drinks as the

(01:04):
wide receiver thirty four fantastic the last two weeks, ninety
nine yards and two touchdowns against the Ravens, and like
I said, good matchup this week, so I really like him.
Cam Coleman might be floating around on some people's waiver
wires too. He's someone that has slowly started to get
a little bit more attrapped double digit points in three
of the last four games coming off the big game
in Seattle, and they face Miami, which I believe has

(01:27):
one of the highest point totals of the week. But
definitely two guys from the wide receiver side that you
could get some help from. Chase Brown is someone who
I think has just been kind of going under the radar,
but we've got back mouthed doubtful for this week, and
he's got double digit fantasy points in four of the
last five games with face of Raiders, So he's someone
that I think could end up having a big week

(01:50):
on the Titans. That there said, it's a lot of
shake ups, right, you know the guys that I think
we've really relied on, guys like Mark Andrews. He has
been coming back and it has been really really good
of late. But you know, those first two weeks are
pretty brutal and you probably were still starting in those
first few weeks. So if you do need some tight
end reinforcements, if you have Kittle or whatever your tight
end situation is. T J Howkinson did come off of

(02:12):
IR this week, so I think that he could be
a good start right out of the gate, as like
Tucker Craft, Cole Comment and Tasing Hill. Even Tasing Hill
I think he's unpredictable, but it's a good matchup against
the Panthers. So I think those are guys that you
could kind of potentially plug and play. I mean, Tucker
Craft is tight end two behind Kittle in the last
five weeks, and Commit is tight end three in that

(02:35):
same stand So definitely some guys that have come through
in a pinch. And then at quarterback we've got Bonix
who is he sent to sprink as DQB fourteen, he's
chooting nine through eight weeks, so it's just been really
really lovely to watch way out performing expectations. Obviously, coming
off is a great game against my lowly Panthers, but
he's still is going to be a very good matchup

(02:57):
against Baltimore's secondary for giving up the third most and
a few points to quarterbacks of this year. So great
guy to be to replacement for Brock Purty, who's also
been very good this year. Baker Mayfield potentially another possible
plug in type guy for a bye week. He's QB
two behind only Lamar Jackson in same consistency, has only

(03:17):
one game below the twenty points threshold in this weird
QB landscape. You know, he's definitely startable as a QB
one week, two weeks, and then if you are in
a super deep weak and are desperate for a plug in,
I would say Joe Blackow since as it's rings as
QB twenty one has a decent matchup in Minnesota this week.
Fifteen plus fantasy points in the three games people played
this year not sellar, but will at least get you

(03:40):
some points in that position. If you're really really deperate, Well,
it's a.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Math when you look at CJ. Stroud, who played the
other night.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
Coming into this season, most fantasy owners thought that he
was going to have a breakout sophomore season based on
what happened in his first year.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
So based on what he's done thus far, would you
encourage some.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
Of those fantasy owners that still hasn't been the starter
or as their backup quarterback.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
To stay with him, be patient or is it time
to kind of part ways with Straw.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Yeah, it's definitely a tough situation. He was drafted as
the QB sixth overall back in fantasy draft time, and
through eight weeks we've got to be sixteen, but to
be twenty two on a per game basis, so it's
it's definitely not with us to expectations. And the sophomore
month is real and they just come off of playing
a tough road game against the Jets. You have a

(04:32):
very strong secondary. So three games with more than one
passing touchdown only one in the fast last five weeks,
so already has note almost as many interceptions and stack
as he did in his rookie campaign. So it's definitely
a little bit off expectations. That said, like I said,
it's coming off of a very tough week, so I'm
not sure that I would. I mean, somedays I have

(04:55):
to start him and I don't have better options. It's
not just I'm not going to start Joe Baco over
him potentially, but you know, if you do have better options,
did you have one of those guys at the high
upside guy? Like I mean, obviously this is this is
after the facts that you know Baker Mayfield would have
potentially been ranked higher this week than Chad, which is

(05:15):
quite an indictment on where he.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Kind of was drafted.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
Well, Samantha, speaking of limited options, I have a tough
bye week at my running back position, but I think
I'm still in pretty good shape.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
I've got three players for you. I can only start
two of them.

Speaker 6 (05:29):
We've got Raheem Moster, Bucky Irving, and Alexander Madison from
the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Which two of those three would you start?

Speaker 3 (05:39):
I think I'm being Irving, though, I do have to
say it is a tougher matchup against Kasey, who have
had a very tough run defense. And that said, I
really like the way that he's been trending upwards in
terms of snap talents and carries and all that He's
really been cannibalizing all of that time from the shod life.
He's expected to be more of the number one guy

(06:01):
so right now. Unfortunately their timeshare makes it such that
there neither of them are really sexy starts, but I
would say they're high end. Are the three is kind
of in that like Tank Big the potentially Ramondre Stephenson's tier,
and I probably would feel the most comfortable starting him
in terms of like situation at this point.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Talking with some maths, Ravidio's met the NFL on Twitter
SMA Jonathan Brooks has missed the large portion of the
whole part of the season thus far due to injury.
Is there any chance we could see him in the
second half and is he worth picking up and stashing.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
On my bench?

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Yeah, I definitely think that. It's been hard to read, right,
it's been like, uh, I thought we were going to
see him a lot rareism this. It's potentially we could
see him very very soon. Now that said, Schupa, Hubbard
has been really at least a good plug in type guy. So,
I mean, it's hard to imagine that any like Panthers
player ends up on the winners call them of anything

(06:58):
but certainly out reform sex sectation. So hopefully if you
did have Brooks, you did pick up super Hubbard as
a quote unquote handcuff. But yeah, I mean, it's not
a five game streak last week of at least ten
Fantasy points in a row could be attributed to game
scripts a lot of times. I mean, he's for run
game is. It's going to suffer a little bit when
you're trailing in all these games. But I think that

(07:21):
at least you know they do have a viable backup
that you could start. And like I said, kind of
in that same range that with Madison and Madison and
Irving and taint s Bakady and stuff that's year.

Speaker 5 (07:35):
Is this a week for those fantasy owners who have
not started Culton sudden all week to start him against
a much maligned Baltimore Ravens defense.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
I actually think he could be a good start this week.
I'm putting in that wide receiver three here. He is
the wide receiver forty run through eight weeks. But he's
had his good week and bad weeks. But I think
his performance is just going to benefit more and more
with Nick's kind of performance going up as well. And
like you said, it is a really really good matchup
against the Ravens two secondary. It's just been torched allowing

(08:09):
the second most fantasy points two wide receivers as this year.
He's confessed his ranks with that wide receiver twenty eight range,
and the Ravens have given up also the most touchdowns
too wide receivers the whole season. So his anytime touchdown,
by the way, it's plus two thirty five on drafting,
So worth checking out as you'd let to put a
few hennings on that game.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
I need to fill in defense this week. Anything jumping
out at you that might be available.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Althoughy over, while sure.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
I think that the Chargers in one league is definitely
a good matchup against Cleveland's offense and has been struggling.
I think like anyone that's playing the Panthers every week,
is is definitely worth streaming. So the Saints are all
the way top top two, top three option of this week.
I mean a number of these changes, it's the Commander

(09:00):
definitely look like a good potential option if you have
like the forty nine ers and you need to pick
someone up. Yeah, I mean, I'm just I'm just looking
at a lot of these like point total and things
like that, But yeah, I think, like if you're looking
for someone, like I said the Chargers were available for
me saying I think those would be my top two
choices for streaking.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Defenses, switching gears a little bit.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Any props you like this weekend?

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Sure? Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
So someone that I really like this weekend is Josh
Down playing these Vikings over five and a half receptions.
But it's minus one fifty so it's a little high.
But I have some other options potentially, but I just
want to say he's coming off of an absolute monster
game in Houston where he scored since before he's down
to averaging eight point four targets per game, and he

(09:46):
has at least nine catches in the three game Blacko
has played in. Vikings are currently allowing the most Fantasy
points two wide receivers and the second most receptions to
receivers this year. So if you're not a fan of
those negative odds and you have an thing down to
my crush this number like I do, you can go
seven plus catches plus one twenty five eight plus is
plus two twenty five. Nine plus is plus four hundred,

(10:09):
and ten plus is plus seven hundred. So I really
like looking at that one as a potential ladder vent
and I think josh Hawn's has a very, very promising future.
It will be.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
You know, there's a guy who I've been looking at
for the past couple of weeks and is Ricky Pursall
for the San Francisco forty nine ers. I know he's
coming back from that suffering that gunshot wound. Luckily he's okay,
but would you suggest that fantasy owners kind of pick
him up and stash him? And the only reason I'm
asking this question because when you look at the y

(10:40):
receivers for the San Francisco forty nine ers, they have
a couple of injuries. So I'm wondering at some point
where the connection between Pearsall and Purty actually start to
pick up.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Sure, I mean, he's obviously coming off of a terrible incident,
and he's a rookie, so we have to have patient
for the games when we played two games really, so
I think like coming off this side, he's going to
get the Buccaneers to have a pretty permeable pass defense,
So I think that that could be a nice matchup
for him. I don't know if it's starting him at

(11:11):
this point, but like you said, I think he's a
very good stash candidate for the bench. Like you said,
they've got they've got a lot of injuries to bring
it at. You obviously out for the rest of the season,
which is a huge broat to their wide receiving corps,
and then we've got Christian McCaffrey hopefully coming back. But
I think that, you know, the beginning of the season
has definitely made me and some other fantasy managers really

(11:34):
worry about his long time, long term sort of availability.
So if he potentially ends up missing any more time,
hope that's not true for Ben's fantasy team, but Ricky
Parasaut could definitely end up getting the more targets on
that depth chart. So I think he is a good
stash candidate, and you know, the forty nine ers offense
offers a lot of upside, So I really do like

(11:57):
him as a potential candidate.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
If you have played some more talk with Samantha Pavid
Samantha NFL on Twitter's meta, I picked up Cedar Tillman
and then like an idiot, left him on my bench
this past week. Any other performances we see like that
out of him that will make him viable down the stretch.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Yeah, I mean I think that the quarterback potentially could
increase his potential target share, and we've got Amari Cooper gone,
so I think he's a guy that is definitely on
the rise. I wouldn't kick myself. I mean, it's always
it always hurts to leave a guy on your bench
that scores like twenty points. I left Josh Down to

(12:35):
my bench last week, so I know the feeling. But
at the same time, I like to remind myself that
A that means that I have that guy, and B
that means no one else was able to have to
score it against me. So even though it sometimes hurts
when you know your bench players maybe outperform someone that
you started in your lineup, it's not the end of
the world. And I definitely would keep him around because

(12:56):
I really do like his outside as a potential number
one time on this rounds defense even offense, even if
it's not exactly a super juggernaut in in that field.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
I just went and picked him up on my way
for wire.

Speaker 6 (13:10):
You mentioned Josh Downs earlier, the player prop on five
plus catches. Any other player props that are catching your eye?

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Yeah, So Davone h Han at the sales over eighty
nine and a half scrintage yards. That's minus one fifteen
on draftings. Now this is a sick number, I understand,
but I think of all of the guys that seemed
to benefit the most from tuat tongue of Iloa returning
last week, probably ah Han. And he's the guy that
was drafted very high, and like a number of guys

(13:41):
in this Miami offense, I mean, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen
Waddell have been two of the most disappointing guys of
the season. And it's not their fault. It's just it's
really tough to be catching passes from that quarterback crew.
But now that tongue of Milo is back for the
foreseeable future, I think it's wheeled up for Ahn and
I love that guy. I think he won a lot

(14:03):
of people's league last year. He would have surpassed this
number in every game Tua has played this season, averaging
one hundred and fifteen stringage yards a lifetime against the
Bills and had one hundred and sixty five scrimage yards
in Week two against the Bill. So that's another ladder
back candidate. That is something that I just love to do.
So if you think he's going to just smash that,

(14:25):
you know you can do one point five yards plus
two forty five, one fifty yards just plus five fifty
and it goes on. So go crazy with that one.
I think Zavon Chen is an absolute star this week
and it's a it's a pretty decent matchup for him.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
Love it.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
I've got a channel my fantasy team. I'm ready for
any last minute words of advice, Samantha.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Well, maybe one last thing to consider. I would take
a look at Travis King.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
Now.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
I think he's prow for for the most part off
the board right now because he is a game time decision,
but given the hamstring injury in the effectiveness of Tank
big feat in the last few weeks, I would love
to take a look at his unders.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
So you know, if.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
Sunday, if you just have them to be hanging around,
you see that he's active, I would certainly take a
look at getting some of the unders for him. Eagles
are top six run defense against fantasy running backs, have
only allowed a running back touchdown twice all year, So
definitely a guy that I am stating at this week.
So I would keep an eye on him and the
injury report as well.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
Appreciate it. Samatha Bravidi at Samantha the NFL. Looking forward
to catch up with you again here soon.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Thank you so much for having me.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Good luck, yep, absolutely Smith Ravidi always loved the fantasy
advice and the draft prof stuff. She had an incredible
hit rate on those props last year. I can't we
were keeping track. At one point she was hitting on
like eighty two percent of her props. It was insane.
We were having an insane run there. So she was
on a certainly on a heater last year. So obviously
I take I take everything that she says. Put a
sprinkle a few extra dollars in that direction, a few

(15:52):
extra dollars, a few extra dollars I got laying around
cushions of the couch type stuff.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Well, you know, since you haven't half stuff just laying in.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
The cushions, if you ever wanted to post something on
behalf of.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
Me, I wouldn't be opposed to it.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
I thought you didn't gamble gambling, technically I wouldn't be.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
But since you have stuff in the cushions, oh, you
wanted me to.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Put that on there? And then just give you the profits.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
Well, yeah, it's lying in your cushions though you're not
doing anything with it.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Well, right, I just need to get your five o'
one C three for the Nick Ferguson charity that I'm
donating to and.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Money for Nick.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
Yes, what is it?

Speaker 2 (16:24):
The George Constead the Human Fund?

Speaker 4 (16:27):
Then yes, go into the Human Fund?

Speaker 1 (16:29):
You know, and just Away has ever done that as
like a five O one C three, Like certainly there's
got to be somebody out there that there's a huge
side like that called it Human Fund. We're gonna find
that out. Sort of the break we had a break,
We come back at the c NFL six back brocous
Country tonight. Progics six nine zero is the text line
if you could text that came in. People wondering with
s Maths is gonna be back and loving that. Uh,

(16:50):
some people wanting us to talk about the Avs. We
will maybe get into that next week. People lamenting that
the Nuggets can't do anything with nicoleak you off the court.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
That is very true and it has been very very true.
They're gonna have to get that figured out. Uh. Mixed
you almost drives you to drink and what's that. We
got an NFL six back coming up here takes time
for the NFL six pat.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
I'm gonna train a lot of beer, insight and insight
information you can't find anywhere else. No.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Six the top six NFL headlines. What Labar Jackson said today.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
These a hundred percent starting on Sunday, despite missing practice
on Wednesday and Thursday. The status report from the Ravens
today confirm that Jackson was on the injury report with
quote knee and back issues, although we know that was
actually growing does not have an injury designation, was a
full participant in today's practice. In eight games, Jackson's completed
sixty seven percent of his passes for twenty ninety nine
yards seventeen touchdowns two picks.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Also rushed for five hundred one yards two scores.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
The Ravens rule out defensive end Bret Urbiton, who had
a concussion, and running back Rasheen Ali with an ankle.
Corner Marlon Humphrey, defensive tackle Travis Jones, running back Keaton Mitchell,
corner Jalen Amar Davis are questionable. Part Dave was popped
up on the report today as a non participant. Is
there anything about this injury report that jumps out at us.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
We all kind of knew Lamar was going to be playing.

Speaker 5 (18:09):
No nothing, you know, Seriously, For me, it goes back
to getting into the game. The last time these two
teams faced off, Lamar didn't finish the game, and I'm
sure that.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
That's what Coach Harbard wants.

Speaker 5 (18:25):
They had their best chances of winning if Lamar is there.
But if something happens in the game where he's laboring
from the injuries that kept him out this week, I'm
sure Coach Harbard playing the loan game would take Lamar
Jackson out of the game. And then now all the
chips go to the center of the table in favor
of the Broncos.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Yeah, I mean, look look at this. I don't think
there's anything that surprises me. The Marlin Humphrey, what is
the one I've got circled?

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Does he play?

Speaker 5 (18:52):
Does he not?

Speaker 2 (18:53):
If he plays, that makes that secondary a little more dangerous.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
But they've been bad all year and they were real
bad against Cleveland, So have him out would I think
help Denver. Two Ruffles made a procedural move today, signing
offensive guard Collen Throckmorton to the active roster.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
And releasing fullback Michael Burton.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
The Broncos will sign Burton back to the practice squad
on Saturday and then elevate him for Sunday's game.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Throck Morton was.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Out of elevations having played in three games for the
practice squad this season. You've seen action on a total
of three offensive snaps and twelve on special teams. Rock
Morton has appeared in forty eight career games starting twenty seven.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Burton played all eight.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Games this season, has five receptions for forty yards, played,
eighty offensive snaps, one hundred and forty nine on special teams.
I think most people eyebrow raised when they saw that
they were waving or excuse me, releasing Michael Burton but
obviously bringing him back on the practice squad.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
They'll use a couple elevations and then figure it out.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
In three weeks.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
Well, that's a great thing about the expansion of the
practice squad. You can Dillyan Dowly with to take guys
on and off and say that you really east the guy,
only to put him on the practice squad. Which when
does any mention of a guy being leased, obviously fans go,

(20:09):
oh my god, I can't believe they're gonna do that,
but rest assurer there's always the safe manning spot on
the practice squad. But the other thing about that is
when you play in that shuffle game, that means you
got to take someone off at some point to put
someone on who could be picked up by another team.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
Yeah, and that's the thing I guess.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
Rock Morton says something about the health of the offensive
line and how they feel they need that extra body. Again,
he's only played three offensive snaps on the season fifteen
snaps total, but they feel like he's an integral part of.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
What they need this week.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
So the roster shuffling game continues with Michael Burton being
released and he'll be signed back to the practice squad.
Three Texans Jets draws eleven point five to six million
for Thursday Night Football. Guyenne pepper Water might have helped
Aaron Rodgers, but it didn't goose to the ratings. Thursday
Nights Texans Jets game on Amazon Prime attracted an audience

(21:01):
of eleven point five to six million viewers.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
That is a slight drop from last week's.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Week nine Titans Steelers game, which is eleven point sixty
five New York Market ordinarily delivers more eyeballs, but the
Jets of course lost five in a raw. I'd if
a sluggish and ugly first half some people might have
decided to watch something or anything else. Thursday Night Football
averages thirteen million viewers per game, a four percent increase
over last year's average through Week nine, despite the drop
off in Thursday Night Football and detections and the Jets

(21:27):
not a draw, and you feel like CJ.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Stroud and Aaron Rodgers would be a draw.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
I don't know how you figured.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
Dad can see in fact that Aaron Rodgers and I
guess the acquisition of DeVante Adams wasn't looking great up
to this point. Luckily, last night after halftime, things kind
of pick up, because it was definitely a horror scene
in that first half, and even Richard Sherman was trying
to tell the viewers, hey, it's going to get better.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
Don't go anywhere, stay right here.

Speaker 5 (22:00):
And luckily the game was made more exciting because the
Jets made more plays. But all of a sudden, the
crowd got involved once they saw, you know, Garret Wilson
with the one hand to grab and then DeVante Adams
looking like vintage Davante Adams.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Went Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Yeah. I mean, to me, this one suggests that people
just didn't like the first half. It was ugly football,
and they flipped the channel because this this feels like
two major markets, two exciting needle moving in the conversation quarterbacks,
you know, and you've got great skill position players. You
mentioned Devonte Adams again. To me, this felt like something
that would probably have been more watched if they've been

(22:39):
a little more fireworks early rather than late.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
Possibly so, but you know, man, you got a lot
of people out there, Tricker's treating it was Thursday. It
was still Thursday night football, and once people came back,
the game got a little more exciting towards the end.
But I mean, the Jets did a great job getting
atter CJ. Shroud and unfortunate for him, you got a
little buves some bruises from that game.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
From be on the ground too much for the Packers
might not know till Sunday afternoon whether Jordan will Love
will start a quarterback against the Lions.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Love officially listed as questionable with a groin injury.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Packers head coach Matt Lafleur said today that he always
prefers to give questionable players as much time as possible
to determine whether they've got to be able to play
in the game. Lafore I said, we'll give him up
to game time and see how he's feeling. The Packers
will that ounce whether their Love is active ninety minutes
before the game's four to twenty five Eastern kickoff. Packers
trying to catch the Lions in the NFC nor Sunday's
game qualifies the biggest game of the season for the Packers,

(23:33):
and they'll hope Love is feeling ready to go. If
Love can't go, who the good news is backup quarterback
Molik will Y's play pretty well and Love's place this
season going to it. I was a starter, I Love
missed two full games they knee injury and then coming
off the bench last week and leading the Packers to
a win when Love suffered the groin injury. No team
wants to be without a starting quarterback, but the Packers
know they can win with Willis if they need to.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
How big is this one, especially against the Lions?

Speaker 4 (23:58):
Boy is not as big as the narratives may pretend
they are.

Speaker 5 (24:02):
And the reason being is because Malik Willis has shown
as though he can come in and he can keep
the offense moving.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
And I think that's one of the reasons, you know
why the.

Speaker 5 (24:12):
Package organization jumped at the opportunity to acquire was Obviously,
he's not a start any quarterback at this particular moment,
but just in case.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
You need him, he can fill in and spot dudes
and keep the offense still going. And just think about it.
I mean, I mean, you've got you know, Reed Dobbs,
and then you.

Speaker 5 (24:29):
Got Josh Jacobs in the Backdill make great decisions.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
Don't turn the ball over and hand the ball over
to Josh Jacobs.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
It seems like an easy recipe to me, easier said
than don't say he's the Detroit lite.

Speaker 4 (24:41):
Of course.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Yeah, five Seattle see quarterbacks. You know, Smith has fire
his belly obviously, and that's good. He knows that.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
But I guess he's saying it needs to control it.
Smith told reporters yesterday, I'm really not a great loser.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
It sucks.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
I hate it.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
I need overall, I need to watch myself.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Hey man, I just continue to uplift the guys and
if I'm being honest, do a better job.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
At times. We're down.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
Those are things that I'm constantly improving. I'm not going
to say I'm perfect at it. I'm very emotional when
it comes to winning and when it comes doing the
right thing.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
At times, I let my emotions show. Whether that's good or.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
Bad, I guess it's a personal opinion, but I'm going
to be myself at all times. I want to continue
to bring that fire our team to our offense.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
I want to.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Continue to be competitive, but not in a bad way,
in a good way. It's always a fine line you've
got to walk. I gotta be careful with making too
many mistakes in that area.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
Now.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
He wants to be his authentic self, but he also
doesn't want to be his authentic self in a way
that creates a problem in the form of fifteen yard
penalty from being too emotional, and that happened on Sunday
and lost the Bills. Smith was called for taunting in
the third quarter after throwing the ball at a Buffalo
defender following a ten yard run. The flag enforced at
the Seattle twenty wiped out the game set the stage
for a punt.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Smith said, these are things.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
I can't have happen obviously, everybody's just watching me. If
I'm upset to get a Lancey, I just got a
better poker face and work on a still better for
a quarterback to have fire that needs to be controlled
and have no fire at all.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
It's easier to throw a little water on an existing
flame than to start a flame that isn't there. First
of all, how do we feel about that?

Speaker 1 (26:02):
Like Geno keeping his emotions under control, make sure it
doesn't do all the flag, And I wanted to juxtapose
that with attention to detail Malachi Corley last night, just
dropping the football right before he runs in the end
zone and calls it a touchback.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Attention to detail across the board.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
Well, they said that the devil was in the details,
and the details are so vital and so important. And
we've seen that happen to lite in college football, where
guys get to the end zo and forget that they
have to run through the tape before they celebrate victory.
So I'm sure that young man from the Jets, he's
going to get a little tongue lashing, even though they

(26:41):
got de victed me. But as it pertains to mean,
Geno Smith, I'm all for. I would rather my quarterback,
have fire than not have fire at all. Only thing
I would tell him from a coaching point, Hey, let's
just kind of get all that energy is work it
out through the game, and we just have to make
sure there's going to be you're on back and forth.
What we can't do is we can't kill ourselves. So

(27:04):
I want you to talk in between the plays. But
after that, get up, act like you've done it before.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
I know you were trigger treating last night. Did you
see the Malachi Corley?

Speaker 4 (27:12):
Oh I thought it, Yeah, yeah, of course in real time,
I was, hey, drop the ball.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
I remember yelling at that you and segers back there
behind the glass real quick because I was.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
Like, you just dropped the ball before he got in there.

Speaker 6 (27:24):
Yeah. And this first touchdown, ever, why aren't you holding
onto that ball anyway?

Speaker 2 (27:28):
You're holding onto that thing, running over the sideline.

Speaker 6 (27:30):
Give it into some equipment guy and saying, hey, hold
on to this.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
For me for later.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
It feels like in the last ten years we've seen
a spain of this, the receivers dropping the ball before
they get to I'm like, dude, if I'm coaching, you
will take that ball.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
You will, you will take it to the post and
you will set it down before the goal before you
do any that's the coaching point. You don't do that,
we'll hit you with a fine.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
But the more of the story is knowing how to finish.

Speaker 5 (27:50):
Yeah, that's the deed to knowing how to finish and
acting like you've been there before.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
Some young bucks just finished too quickly.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Six.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
I want to talk about this one. I have differing
feelings on this.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
I don't want to get too political on it, but
it was interesting and it cost a little hubub of
social media. The NFL is reviewing Nick Bosa's post game
MAGA hat.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
The league ignored the hot Potato kind of as long
as it could.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
After multiple requests multiple media outlets went unanswered. I know,
for instance, Football Talks had two emails. The league leaked
to Mark Maski no endorsement. Washington Post that it is
reviewing forty nine Ers defensive end Nick Moosa's wearing of
a Make America Great a hat on the field after
Sunday nights Wait over the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
If you're completely.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Disconnected from society for the last nine years, that's obviously
the slogan for three time presidential campaign Donald Trump.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
Bosa video bomb.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
The interview that NBC's Melissa Stark was conducting with quarterback
Brock Party Tighten George Kittle, and running back Isah Gorndo
most appointed of the hat, which was hard to read
because it had gold on white.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
It was tough to see on TV.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
He Maskie Bosa not facing a suspension but could be
fought Maski adds it noticision is expected to be made
for any week after the election, obviously, even though fines
routinely are issued in the days after a given slate
of games. The NFL strategy for minimizing huffing, puffing, and
blowing the house down from a vocal minority of fans
be consist of saying nothing about it at all and
then doing nothing about it till the votes have been

(29:14):
sort of cast. There's nothing to review. It's either a
violation or it isn't. The playing language of the rule
says it is. And so this is where I come
to this. His hat violates Rule five, Article four, Section eight,
which says throughout the period on game day that a
player is visible to the stadium and television audience, basically

(29:34):
pregame warm ups to postgame interviews. Players are prohibited from wearing, displaying,
or otherwise conveying personal messages, either writing or illustration, unless
it has been improved in advance, and it includes uniforms
and equipment related to political activities or causes or other
non football events. So what he did is a violation.
I don't care which a political stance. If it was

(29:55):
a Kamala Harris hat or Donald Trump hat, I don't care.
To me, I don't like them doing that in uniform
anymore than I like law enforcement or service members campaigning
in uniform. Right Like it's you're not allowed right when
you're when you're military version camp, but you get to
uniform off if you've got to totally respect that uniform
of flayer. How do you feel about political statements in uniform?

Speaker 5 (30:20):
For me, if it's a violation of the rules, and
the rule book state that you can't have anything politically
written on your person, your wristband, or your shoes, anything
like that. If you violate that, then you should pay.
Define what's the cour And I think this may be
eleven thousand dollars for a guy, but by you know,

(30:41):
Nick Boff and Nick Bosa. But I think because we
live in a climate that we live in now there's
a hypersensitivity.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
To so many different things. And the thing that comes into.

Speaker 5 (30:52):
Question is, okay, well, where does free expression in the
First Amendment stop? Right?

Speaker 4 (30:57):
And I am of the did that. We can't go
or get to a point where we try.

Speaker 5 (31:05):
To rewrite the Constitution because it is free expression.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
Now.

Speaker 5 (31:09):
I will say this as though it was said to
me like freedom isn't free now Bosa, did you know
what he did? So there's a fine for him to
pay yet, fine, But the problem that I have is
that because he did that, now he's gotten a lot
of backlash where people are attacking him. And for me,

(31:30):
I'm always going to lean on free expression. You may
not like what he did, you may not like the
candidate that he is supporting, but when we start turning
into it was a divisive thing and there's a tongue
lashing that happens to an individual, we have to be
careful because say what you want to say.

Speaker 4 (31:50):
You don't have to like Trump or whatever.

Speaker 5 (31:53):
But I think the rhetoric that has taken place has
been something that has pushed some of the violence towards him.
We always have to remember that even after this voting cycle,
we're going to be neighbors.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
We're going to be for all the volatives.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
We're all Americans and this is probably one of the
most divisive presidential races I've ever witnessed ever. But yeah,
if the league is gonna find Bosa, yeah, go ahead
and find him.

Speaker 4 (32:24):
Turn the page, move along. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
For me, it wasn't even about the political candidate sort
of thing. It was like the you know, the jumping
on there to do the kind of thing. And I'm
kind of like the time, I was like, I feel
like this violates the rule, but I'm not, you know,
at the time, I just go for me. I was
thinking about it from the media side of house, because
we have obligations, right, We're not allowed to offer airtime
to one and not another because we have to do
it equally, right, And so then I'm like, well, does

(32:48):
that play into Amazon Prime not offering did they just
get a free commercial?

Speaker 4 (32:54):
Well? I was like, how does that? I?

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Like me, That's where I started getting into the Manu.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Shaw of it, like the saw how the sausage just
made behind the scenes like this, Okay, does Amazon now
have to run a Kamala Harris commercial because.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
They got that's something they're ALLCD to do. How does
that work?

Speaker 4 (33:08):
Here's what we know.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
Whether it's on television or whether you're on radio or
you're doing the live stand up, it is live. Anything
can happen on air, right. Did Amazon know that you
know both was going to do that? No, they did not,
and he probably maybe he planned.

Speaker 4 (33:27):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (33:27):
I have no idea, but the idea is to for
the league to find him because there's a policy that states.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
That you cannot do that, right, and they will I
think after the election. But it, you know, I mean,
is what it is. So I didn't think it was
that big a deal.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
I just I was curious about it as far as
that goes from a former player aspect.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
You are listening to Broncos country tonight right here on,
can't wait take for them? Not if one FM New
