Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, theme to it Broncos country tonight, but with all bride,
Nick Ferguson, Grant Smith, it might be the dazzled country tonight.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Look at it that hoodie you're rocking there, Nick Ferguson,
what are you.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Talking about the sparkly bejeweled thing that's going on in
the front there.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
It's not bejeweled, it's not litery whatever I mean?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Do you want to say he has kind of had
a lot of glitter on me before, But we don't
talk about this thing.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
No one wants to talk about the glitter you had
on you and how it got on you. Well, the
idea is this shark is not bedazzle because technically for
something to be bedazzle you need those little rhinestones.

Speaker 5 (00:33):
I thought you had the kid at home yourself show.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
I love the fact that he knows what the technical definition,
because what is called glittery?

Speaker 3 (00:41):
What's what's going on here? It is this little glitter.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
It's not little, it's there's a gigantic red glitter thing
in the middle of your hoodie thing.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
I can't I can't say what it is.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I didn't do this my hawk like it looks like
the looks at the hood of those cars.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
That's like the flaming hawk on it. Look.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Look, if you wanted to do something like this, you
could go to Michael's and and.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
By the kid, did you do it? Did you git
the snow?

Speaker 6 (01:08):
I did not do it.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
If I if I did, I would take credit for
but I cannot. It is the the creator and the
artist of this hoodie. Yes, yes, it is storm bought
from the sense that I saw it on the right
and I purchased it.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Not the glitter, but the sweat shirt.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
There's so many jokes I want to make right there,
and like ten of them I can't make on the air.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Who shows on satellite radio right now? No, I did
not get this from a shot model club at all.
It is all that I can't say.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
It's that I can always see because you're tilted side
is like a floor dele or is that like a
what is that?

Speaker 3 (01:48):
It looks like a it does? It looks like one
of those flaming birds on the hood of like a
trans amb or whatever.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
The sweatshirt said love yourself, right, Yes? Does it have
some doves on it and some stuff like that? Yes
it does.

Speaker 5 (02:02):
It said love yourself, and then you took it home
and the dazzled it. You're quite the artist, really, I
mean it's pretty well done.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Talent both not just to fight to detegrate here, because
it takes talent to get that kind of design on there.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
I hate both of you guys right now. I'm not
I'm not trying to be you know, it's just like
the people that's not Bolo, but the people wear bow ties.
Come been trying to dog down because those things are
not easy to tie. Whatever.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Ben, have you ever tried a bow tie a bowie? Well,
some of those bow ties, some of them come may.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
They come pre done. I'm talking about to click on.
I'm talking about tiring an actual boat. It's hard. No,
it's hard. That's that's why I'm with them. And listen,
Gret has on a bullet tie right. Not hard to
tie it very easy.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Five six, six nine zeros attacks like Big Show tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Rick Lewis gonna join A six thirty.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Five for his what the Funk segment.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Luther hellis father of two players in the Coming Game Us,
one for the Falcons, one for your Denver Broncles.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Gonna join us.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Also, by the way, Todd Davis, who was in here
in Minigo said nothing but great things about Lise.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
There was the chaplain of the.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Super Bowl fifty. Well, Luther was my teammate here.

Speaker 6 (03:13):
Here he was.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
It was the chaplain when Todd was here.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
Yeah, now he's got you know, it's kind of it
was kind of a weird transition. I know Lutha is
deep rooted in faith. I'm a baby faithful guy as well,
But he transitioned from being a player to the team's
chaplain and now he's coaching the Utah youths who will
be in town on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Wat is what a Utah?

Speaker 6 (03:39):
Does?

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Anybody get this? My cousin any reference right now?

Speaker 6 (03:42):
Anyone?

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Yeah, speaking of hard transitions.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Man, going from your glittery shirt to football.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
So a big show tonight and then of course we
got Bust prime time uh coming up here in.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
A couple hours as as well. Bo Nicks named the
Offensive Rookie of the Week deservedly.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
So is bo starting to get the recognition and maybe
turn the tide on the national narratives about it?

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Maybe turn the tide a lot of people that have
been dogging both. I wouldn't me.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I'm not I'm not NBC Sports that blocked Ryan Edwards today.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Why do they block right? That's hilarious, isn't it.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
They blocked Ryan for being for pointing out that their criticisms,
which they claimed were jokes about bo Nicks, were over
the top of all.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
No, it's funny how that happens. Someone says something and
then all of a sudden, oh I was joking.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Listen.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
There's always ways to frame what you're saying, whether in
person or whether it's on Twitter. Jokes are meant to
be funny. Yes, I hope to tell one someday, bro,
maybe you will. But the idea is that, no, when
we look at bow Nicks, let me back up for
a second. Yes, people are now starting to catch up

(04:56):
because when bow I remember that draft night, and so
many analysts was like, oh, shocked and shaken. The Broncos
are taking bow Knicks with the twelfth pick, and it
was like, well, he's fallen.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Well, we didn't really see him being in that particular spot.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Well, you pick where teams feel as though they need assistance,
and they're picking at that particular spot where a player
was and it was obvious that the Broncos needed to
take him because if the Broncos didn't take him, the
Raiders right there behind them, and because the Broncos took
bow Knicks, the Raiders were forced to take brought.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Bowers, who was a hell of a player within his
own right.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
But bo is just showing people who he is, and
some people who didn't really pay attention to him and
just wanted to kind of knock him down a couple
of pegs are now starting to see what he can
be with the skills said that he has.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
I think it's interesting because it's sort of we're getting
to the point now where both performances, it's been consistent enough.
It's not just a one awful one game against a
bad team or beat up defense or whatever.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
It's consistent enough now that.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Sean Payton, who was incredibly cocky on draft night.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
In the post draft presser round one presser where he
was laughing and joking and suggesting that he had tricked
Minnesota into believing and indeed the world into believing that
they were gonna move up for JJ McCarthy and they
got Minnesota to do it, and that.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Boe is their guy all along, which there's elements to
treat that.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
It's kind of getting to the point where it sort
of justifies that, it sort of validates Sean Payton in
sort of that arrogance that he had that we got
the guy that we wanted even though he was the
sixth quarterback.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Taken. See that part. I never liked where it was said,
well he is the sixth quarterback. Take it.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
I go back to the idea and the concept that
how the draft typically shakes out is not exactly the
way the draft analysts pre draft, during the pre draft
process may have figured that it was going to go
go down, and we always hear about a guy, in
this case both knicks, Well he's falling in the draft
where he wasn't doing too well, and it says a

(07:15):
lot about his draft stock and who he is as
a player.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
No, the hell it doesn't.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
If a team is on the clock and let's just say,
well there's a quarterback there, they need an edge rusher
or a wide receiver. They picked that edge rusher a
wide receiver. That doesn't necessarily mean that that player who
was still on the board at the quarterback position all
out both knicks. That doesn't mean that bow doesn't have
the capabilities of being start on a quarterback and possibly

(07:40):
being a permanent fixture in the Broncos offense. It's just
meant that the teams that been picking before the Broncos
needed something else, and a quarterback wasn't one of them.
But I'm glad that Bow is able to start to
show people what he is capable of doing. And I
look forward to the day where a lot of these
harsh critics choke on their words. I'm like, like, really

(08:02):
choke on their words with all the negative negativity they've
said about this kid.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Yeah, I'm you know, I like the fact that he's
kind of coming into his own I'm still I want
to know where the ceiling is. We all do, but
the floor is at a place that we know he's
a viable starter in the NFL. And so all the
jokes about him being Taysom Hill, which you know.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
NBC spart sense of people. Ryan was talking about do
we have any names? It was just NBC side. I
can't remember that. It was just like James Crochet or
something like that.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
I want to, you know, guy needs to take up
Crochet and I don't know, but it was, uh, I
think that was it because Matt Barry was on that show,
but he didn't say anything negative about them.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
It's it's it's Matt Barry's thing, man.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
You know, I'll text Matt and I can find out
who it was.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
He'll he'll come on and and and do the show.
I am stupid. Yeah, it wasn't. It was Matt Barry's thing.
But it wasn't Matt Barry that was doing it.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
It was like like James Crochet or John Crochet or
Croucher or something like that. I don't know anyway, he
needs to be crouched down at the back of the
line with with those takes. But you know, I yeah,
it was him, and I think it was kind of
Rogers was the other one there that was kind of
kind of making the jokes. I don't have to go
back and find out. I go if you score Ryan's timeline.
If somebody scrolls right here.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Taysom Hill came in this league as a quarterback and
he was in I'm not mistaken, was in Green Bay first,
end up going to New Orleans Saints after being released
by the Packers, and it was to be totally honest,
the person who really put Taysom Hill on the map,
to be totally honest.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Was Mike west Off.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
Mike West off said, well, well, you guys are not
really utilizing them offensively. Give them to me, put them
on special teams. You had the huge athletic due like
that running down field. Yes, and then when that happened,
the light went on like, oh, you know what, let's
use him because guess what when you look at Taysom Hill,
Taysom Hill is a better version of Tim Tebow.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Taysoam Hill's six two two thirty and has a four
four forty all the time skill set, require hight weight speed.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Yes, now the idea is put him on special teams.
Bring on along to he's ready.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
From a quarterback standpoint, that had never happened, right, that
had never happened. He never emerges being starting a quarterback
fort in the wall is even though he was paid
like he was. But once again, to comparison or trying
to compare bow knicks to Taysom Hill, it is utterly ridiculous.
The only thing compared. There's a couple of things that
you can comparison that they have similarities. But being able

(10:26):
to throw the ball with precision and being entrusted to
do it consistently, that's where they defer.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Yeah, it's it's kind of.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
By the way, Taysom Hill was not invited to the
Combine that year.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Wasn't even invited to the Combine.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
You know why because everyone looks like he's big, he's athletic,
he's physical, and I think the thing that was hurting
tayso him was Yes, exactly, that's the thing that was
hurting him.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
Yeah, is he.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
I mean as an athlete, as a size athlete, you
invite that guy, He'll find.

Speaker 6 (10:55):
A place for him.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Sixty two two thirty and runs a four to four.
I'll find some place for him. Ah, let's just say that.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Man could play h back, full back, line, boun find something.
I'll find something you can do and me to work.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
This is why, this is why I love Mike Westoff.
Mike Westoff said, look, give him to me. I Am
going to create him and mold him into something. And
that is what he did with Taysom Hill. And that's
one of the reasons why Taysom is still in his
league and you know, bless his heart, why he got
that big payday with his Saints because of his versatility

(11:29):
and what.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
He can do.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Yeah, I you know that that was one of those
things that I felt that comparison to be a bit disingenuous,
but was a better passor a more prolific passor than
taste mail effort was at any level, and so that
that was that seemed to be.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Not a good faith argument there by those guys.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
We've also got Thursday night football coming up here, should
be kicking off here in a moment.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
I'll put it on the monitor there at a minute.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
But I uh, we got the washing, our beloved Washington
Commanders and our commander, our commander in chief dan Quinn
taking on.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
The Philadelphia Eagles, who have largely owned the.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Commanders over the lay and they post post Kirk Cousins era.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
Hunt. Excuse me, it hurts, Jalen hurts. Is three and one?

Speaker 6 (12:13):
Is that right?

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Or four and one? Grant?

Speaker 2 (12:15):
This hurts three and one against dank Quinn, three and one.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Against dan quinn defenses.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
And of course the Commanders have failed to beat the
Eagles for a number of years. They've had like one
win in the last I can't remember how many years.
It's largely been that. I expect the Eagles to win
their minus four in that one. As we look at
that game, I feel like it'll be a strong ground game.
But it's a chance to see if maybe Jayden Daniels
throw a little against the soft mcfangio defense.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
And I say soft in the sense that it's soft zone,
not that they are soft players, you know what.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
Uh, I don't want to say surprisingly, but Vic Fangio's
come in and really helped out that Eagles defense and
really boast of what they were doing with the talent.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
That they have.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
And it's gonna be really difficult for Then and Washington Commanders.
And the reason I say that because wh when you
look at the Commanders from a standpoint of being able
to stop the run, they have difficulties.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Right when I go back a couple of.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Weeks when they played the Chicago Bears, and I mean
being able to run the ball outside against them. DeAndre
Swift had like a field day being able to do that.
And sometimes the commander's defender, especially the outside perimeter guys
lose contained they let the runners get outside. The guy

(13:33):
that they're playing tonight is not only athletic. We've seen
him jump backwards over a guy, but Saku Barkley can
jump backwards, over, run through you, run around you. So
that's gonna be somewhat of an issue for the commanders tonight.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Did you see that video of the kid trying to
pull the saqua maneuver off the high school kid?

Speaker 3 (13:54):
It was on RG three's feeding Really you see wait
a minute, Rea, see is what the.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
League should have done, and everyone who posted it on
social media please do not try these moves.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Well, that kid definitely should not have tried it at
home because.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
He's kicked up in the air and there's six foot three.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Linebacker like twirled him around and body slammed him. It
was nic It's pretty because at the first you're like, oh,
this guy's gonna pull off the saquan and he puts
a little juke move on him, and then he meets
this linebacker and you're just looking at this thing like
this is David and Goliath, except David got creamed.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
Listen, man, everything you see on TV doesn't necessarily mean
you need to try because usually when something he is
what's said.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Before things go wrong. Watch this. I'm not many a fail,
just an anywhere watched.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
This anywhere USA. It's always the same thing. Hey watch this.
It always ends bad. Yeah, every single time. I know
this from personal experience. Hey, guy's watch this. Uh, Uh, oh, well,
you got to tell me about to watch this moment it.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
I got a few of them. We can probably do
a small book, maybe a video.

Speaker 7 (14:59):
Who but as we as we look at this though,
the Eagles could do vo Nicks to solid You have
a you have a solid game against Jane Daniels, and
all of a sudden both starts looking taste here and
taste here in that Rookie of the Year competition.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
Well, it's gonna take more than just one game.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Obviously, the Eagles defense can help out both Nicks from
that standpoint, But then that means that Bow has to
go out and have uh fantastic day on Sunday, which
he can against the Falcons defense. Who they're giving up
some some yards too as far as passing and also
running from the quarterback position. But yeah, you know, on

(15:38):
a small scale, yes, if the Eagles defense can somewhat
hold Jane Daniels under wraps, that definitely helps both Nicks
out for another week.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
I'm just saying we could we could possibly get uh
get creep Bow into the conversation maybe with with the
bad Jayden and Daniels performances. Are are we that close
to it yet? Or is Jade that far out in front.
Keeping in mind that I do have each Aiden Daniels
Rooki of your ticket.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Oh listen your ticket aside, you know, full transparency, the
best rookie quarterback playing right now is by far Jade Dames.
And you know, don't at me, Broncos Country. If you
know football, you know I'm not even lying. I mean
the way that Cliff Kingsbury has him playing right now
and once again and I.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Agree with that, by the way, almost played very well
and I think he's put himself in the conversation.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
And that's the thing. Is the standard right now.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
Right now, Jayden is by far the standard because we
are comparing what Drake may, Bo Nicks, Cayle Williams and
Jane Dames four quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Essentially, Malik Neighbors would be I think the only other
person you put the conversation.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
But he's not a quarterback. He's not a quarterback, So
what are we doing here? And he plays with the
giant maybe.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Jered verse At who's been playing really well well, yeah,
you know what, you know what, It's like my original
wish for the Broncos.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
This is almost like treating this whole rookie of the year.
Why it's the Heisman because.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
He doesn't need to go to a quarterback this year.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Well, voters, you hear me, Nick Ferguson, you hear me,
Ryan Edwards.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
I don't know if you're talking about I'm just watching
the games.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
Well, whatever jumps off the page, that's what jumps off
the page.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
You don't have to hunt very far to find something
that jumps off the page. No, you don't have to
traverse Travis the globe to find someone that deserves a Heisman.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
He's a great thing, you know. Sidebar about the Heisman.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
You have so many fantastic players that either one of
them could walk away with that coveted trophy.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
And some players that are more fantastic than others. Travis Hunter,
Heisman voter Nick Ferguson.

Speaker 4 (17:42):
Look, man, I'm not easily influenced by other individual.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
You've ever met an influence campaign from me. You can
try your influence campaign all you want.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
I am going to bully and badger you and Ryan
and tells you must not know how your ballants are pup?

Speaker 6 (18:00):
Do you know this right?

Speaker 3 (18:01):
I don't care?

Speaker 4 (18:01):
Okay, well guess what the ballast may be public, But
I did the chance to choose you do you do?

Speaker 6 (18:08):
Right?

Speaker 3 (18:08):
And I don't Ryan, and I don't even discuss it. See,
I think that's the problem. I think you should. I
think we should have No. Yeah, what do we need
to do here? What do we need to get a
quorum together? Is that what it's called a quorum? A quorum?

Speaker 2 (18:18):
I don't know, Chris looking at me like I'm weird.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
Maybe No, there's no need to discuss it because whatever
Ryan decides that he wants to vote on or who,
it's his own.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
Choice, just like his mind. I'll got to get you votes.
Voth for Travs. Can't We All Lie?

Speaker 2 (18:34):

Speaker 3 (18:50):
We come back. It is what the funk? Rick lewis?

Speaker 6 (18:55):
Rick?

Speaker 3 (18:55):
How you done?

Speaker 6 (18:55):
Buddy? Hey man? I love that open You got you
got roach to do? The open to my segment, man,
I'm not worthy.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Well, to be fair, Road found out we were doing
an intro and he volunteered himself, and he's like, I
got to be a part of that. I got to
be a part of what's going on there with Broncos
Country tonight and what the funk with the legend Rick Lewis.

Speaker 6 (19:16):
I love it, man, I love it. I love the open.
What the funk happened on that field goal attempt is
the story of this tweek. You know, when you consider
that the Chiefs players and coaches were aware of the
problem the Broncos were having on the left side of
their offensive line on not only field goals but extra points,

(19:37):
you would assume the Broncos also knew that, and then
what happened like there was no adjustment made. Apparently, It's
going to be really interesting to watch what happened Sunday
when they play the Falcons, see what they do there
with Alex Forsyth or whatever they're going to do on
that side of the line, because you cannot let that happen.

(19:58):
This team would have been six and four and the
driver's seat really for the postseason. So that was that
was a huge disappointment. I got to tell you guys, though,
I heard you guys talking about bon Nicks. You know,
one of the cool things about traveling with the team
and broadcasting the games on the road is it's like
you're behind enemy lines. That's how I feel when I

(20:19):
go in there, and it's a really cool feeling to
be walking in there with your soldiers, with your people,
your crew, behind enemy lines. And when I was out
there at halftime, you know, made my sprint to the
restroom before one hundred other men got in there. And
I'm listening to these old Kansas City media dudes, these

(20:41):
grizzlable guys, you know that have probably been doing this
for forty years, and they were talking about bone Nicks,
and they were talking about the Broncos, and they were
saying things like, man, this club is good, this club
is good, and that kid is good. Man, that kid
can spin it, you know. So I'd just like to
listen because you can you can get a good feel

(21:02):
what the media from the other team thinks about your team.
And man, they had nothing but good things to say
about the Broncos and bow Nick. So take that for
what it's worth.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Well, with that being said, Rake, What more would you
like to see from Bow?

Speaker 4 (21:19):
And the reason I asked that question because doing that
conversation that Ben and I had before you came on,
he was talking about some comments some individuals who from
NBC made as far as comparing Bowl to tayso heel, So,
is there anything that you've seen that would give you

(21:39):
an indication that they're going down the right row? And
also what would you like to see Bow start to
do in these next couple of games.

Speaker 6 (21:47):
Yeah, I don't see the Chasam Hill comparison at all
other than the fact that Bow is a good running quarterback.
Bow obviously much better arm talent than Taysom Hill ever
dreamed of. I'd like to see Bo run more, you know.
The last couple of games, Nick, it seems like he's

(22:07):
pulled back from that aspect of his football game, and
I think that's a big weapon for him. Though maybe
they told him, you know, try not to run so much,
you know, kind of step up in the pocket, see
if you can make some throws, which he did, but
I think that is such a big element for him.
I would like to see him continue to use his
legs here down the stretch, which makes things really really

(22:31):
difficult for opposing defenses. As you know better than anybody,
that's a tough thing to defend. And he's a much
better runner than anybody thought he was going to be.
So as he continues to develop as a path, we
did see that last week against Kansas City, I'd like

(22:51):
to see him still continue to run the ball when
he gets the chance.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Tyler rigluis color analyst of your Denver Broncos Rick the
Broncos always news is going to be a tough stretcher
app Baltimore.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
You're at Kansas City, but the third game you get
to come home and you take on the Atlanta Falcons.
They're a team that is almost the antithesis of the
never Broncos, all gas, no breaks on offense, but that
defense is bad.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
They're worse than the league in sacks.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
They can't pressure the quarterback.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
As we look forward to this matchup, this could potentially
be a huge day for bo Nicks.

Speaker 6 (23:19):
Yeah, I think it's kind of looking that way. Ben
and the Falcons are beat up. If they have like
a mass unit under injury report sixteen guys today and
then a big weapon for them just popped up on
the injury report today, and that's Darnell Mooney. They're very
talented wide receiver who's having a Pro Bowl year. He

(23:40):
popped up today with an achilles and I think we
all know how tricky that can be, especially for a
skill position player, and he's really really good. And you
mentioned their defense. The other defense is really struggled. They've
got a bunch of injuries on that side of the
ball as well. They have a tough time stopping the

(24:01):
run and the past. So this should be a game
where the Broncos should be able to score some points,
you know, get into that mid twenty twenty seven point range,
and if they do that in the Broncos defense plays
like they've been playing, Broncos really should win this game.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
Yeah, the Broncos defense has been playing exceptionally well all
season long in I mean the linch band as to
why the Broncos are where they are right now. But
this aspect of the Broncos team that hasn't really gotten
own check just yet, and that is the running game.
And based on what we saw in the final new

(24:36):
minutes of that Kansas City game, everything leads to Aldric
Esime being the lead back from here on out. When
you watch these games with Dave Logan, When you call
the game and you watch how these guys play, do
you think it's time for the Broncos to make Audric
Esime the lead back?

Speaker 6 (24:55):
You know what, I'm comfortable with that. I said that
last week going into the game. He's not going to
fumble the football, and certainly you could see that they
trust him. He was the guy in there at crunch
time when they were getting into position for that game
winning field goal that got blocked. I think we're going
to see more and more of him. The one thing

(25:16):
we don't know about him is how is he in
pass pro? Can he catch the ball out of the
backfield or is he just more of a one dimensional
power running back. And if that's the case, that's fine,
because Javonte is good at catching balls out of the
backfield and he's their best guy in pass pro. So
I'm comfortable, you know, letting him be the primary ball

(25:38):
carrier and maybe Juliel and Javante are more your third
down backs. I think that's probably a pretty good combination.
What I'm really concerned about this week, and I wanted
to ask you, Nick, having played for as long as
you did, would you play in a game like that
and you laid it all out there in the field. Man,

(25:58):
you left your heart on that field. And then a
devastating loss like that, how do you get back up
for the next week. I mean, you can only afford
to think about that for one day, that's Monday. But
is it possible for this team to regroup in time
and play with that type of intensity and energy this

(26:19):
week against the Falcons?

Speaker 4 (26:21):
Yeah you can, because Rake, you have more games to
be played in the season. Le Broncos are still trying
to keep there and hold their playoff position right now,
I'm thinking's a seventh seed. And yeah, it frustrated a
lot of individuals. It was disappointing. But use that anger,
use that frustration, don't you know. Point fingers at Alex ForSight.

(26:44):
They're the guys on the offensive line, because if you
totally honest, the games there never came down to that
single play. But you can use that negative energy to
go out there and punish the Falcons on both sides
of the ball. Make them feel you're anger and your
frustration for losing that game that you should have one
on the road against Kansas City.

Speaker 6 (27:03):
Yeah, you know, and we know They're a well coached
football team with a veteran head coach on On Payden,
and these guys mostly a younger, hungry football team. They've
shown that they're resilient. I hope that's the case Sunday.
They need to I wouldn't say this is a must
win game, but I'm going to say they need to
win the game on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Yeah. I think that they do.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
I mean, we knew this was a tough stretch, but
you know, we thought they could come away with one
of three. This could be the one of those three
that come away with. We've talked a little bit about
other guests maybe in the early down back, but in
this game, and I'm with that.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
I've supported that.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
I've been talking about that, maybe a role reversal where
you put Yvonte in the Samaje roll from Lasher.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
I've be talking about differcult weeks.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
This game is the game that I would feature Jaliel
in because I've been watching the Falcons and I got
to be honest, they're slow on defense. Maybe you can
go sideline to sideline and take and use Jaleel in
that speed to wear this thing out early and get
something going.

Speaker 6 (27:57):
Yeah, that's a good point. It seems like all the
speed is on the offensive side of the ball. And
I'm also hoping that that the Broncos will be able
to complete some you know, some long throws to Troy Franklin,
Marvin Mims, Courtland Sutton, whoever. But that's one thing that

(28:18):
this offense has lacked, not only just a consistent running game,
but that vertical thread. Who's it going to be? Troy
Franklin look like he might be that guy, but he
dropped two of them and bow overthrew him on another one.
But I do think that Troy Franklin is showing enough
promise that he could be that guy. It's interesting what
they're doing with Marvin Mims to kind of trying to

(28:40):
turn him into a you know, Deebo Samuel two point
zero type player. I think they'll probably continue to tinker
with that and see if they can, you know, get
some success with that. And I think it's a good idea.
You know, it's a totally different look than what we've
seen here in the first half of the season.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Rug you go in here, but you got a benefit
coming up here soon.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
You want to tell us about it?

Speaker 6 (29:04):
What the funk then yes, I'll be laying down the
funk at the Buffalo Rose on a week from tomorrow night,
that's November twenty second. It's a benefit for the Alzheimer's Association.
All the profits will go to Alzheimer's. It's a cause
that's near and dear to my heart. My grandmother had it.
And my band's going to be playing a full two

(29:26):
hour concert from seven to nine, and tickets aron sale.
From what I hear, all the tables upfront are already
sold out, but there's still some good seats left. Go
to Buffaloosgolden dot com and get your tickets and hopefully
I can get Nick Ferguson out there next week. I
did invite him and his wife.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Well, he does have a show to do right here
at Broncos Country to die. But if we let him
off the hook, maybe he'll be able to get out
there and do that. Rick, we always appreciate the time.

Speaker 6 (29:51):
Cause, man, yeah, a good cause. Let's you let him
off the hook.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Well, we'll see if Dave Tepper, if Grinch, Dave Temper
will let us off the h We'll see.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
We'll see what happens. So Rick, we always appreciate time.

Speaker 6 (29:59):
By Oh, I got thik.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
That's for Lewis colaut Us, the Denver Broncos.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
You missed any part of Broncos Country?

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Now do you go to Broncos Country at that dot
com slash podcast or wherever you gut podcast app? A
lot tunes, Spotify totally free and awesome. My heart radio
app almost nailed it. I almost nailed it there. It
was a little bit of a little bit garble. There
had some marbles in my mouth. Where do you get
to take it? For a podcast as well? I always
love having uh having Rick on there. Washington Man came
out on fire against the Eagles. Here might be on

(30:27):
the wrong side of this one.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
Is early.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Yeah, Nick had Nick changed his vote, changed his vote
to the Eagles after Grant picked Washington for him.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
Well, yeah, I just wanted to make sure that the
pick was actually uh correct.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
But if Washington wins, you're gonna go back and claim
that it was too late for those pass the deadline.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Oh no, I'm not. I'm not going to do that.
See that is something typically that you would do. I
would never Oh, yes, you would.

Speaker 5 (30:57):
If Washington wins this game, I want you to bedazzle
me a sweater like you got on there.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
Do you guys even know what the definition of bedazzle
you do? I'm probably not exactly sparkly jeans. No, it's
just because it has spark who's in it?

Speaker 6 (31:20):
Right?

Speaker 1 (31:20):
And you are admitting those are sparkles. Listen, Oh, this
isn't quite Steve Atwater in that one shirt?

Speaker 3 (31:35):
You guys, you guys.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
He was so proud of that thing too. I felt
so bad.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
That wasn't nice. It was Edwards. It was just a
I was on one that day and we were roasting people.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
And yeah, yesterday I had on a scarf and Ryan
said to me, was like, hey, Nick, oh, I see
you coming over to the flannel uh party.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
I was like, nobody, stop it, right, Star, It's not flat, No,
it's not.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
It was like it was like one of those fashionable
scars too, like the Infinity.

Speaker 5 (32:05):
It wasn't like, you know, yes, next that fashionable guys.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Sweater sweater that looks like you spent too much time
at the job. Apparently, if you guys keep saying.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
It, if you like it, we're definitely drawing attention to it.

Speaker 6 (32:19):
Weird.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
That's what this show is. It's roast country tonight right here.
I can't wait.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Stay tuned for the roast to me getting something horribly
wrong at some point soon. We do have a good
guest coming up though, bottom the next hour. Luther Ellis
gonna join us, father of Jonah Ellis, Broncos draftic, father
of Kayden Ellis, the Atlanta Falcons and the Super Bowl
fifty uh champions team.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
Chaplain, Yes, that's your teammate.

Speaker 4 (32:40):
Yes, that's gonna be interesting to have him come on
and just talk about just being a father of sons
in the league and just talk about you know, his guys,
his sons who are playing now.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
So that's gonna be amazing.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Yeah, looking forward to that.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
So you guys are going to stick around for.

Speaker 6 (32:54):
That as well.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
We get a preview of the Falcons and Broncos game
coming up here in the next segments.

Speaker 3 (33:01):
You guys want to stick around for that as well.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
We had a chance we had Ryan michael on was
it yesterday or day the day before, I got a
chance to come in here and talk a little bit
about his his notes. He has some optimism for the
Broncos on against the Falcons as well. Maybe I'll I
think there was a tweet there I have saved. I
want to get into a little bit of that as well,
so that'll be fun.

Speaker 6 (33:20):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
We got about prime time coming up at the top
of the eight o'clock hours. You guys want to stick
around for that as well as see you as they
got a big game this weekend taking on the Utah jazz.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
There's no jazz music. I love saying that. That's the
reason for that.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
That's the reason I said jazz, not the ute since
I didn't do another my cousin Vinnie uh thing.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
But yeah, like there's no jazz in Utah. Of all
the places that there aren't jazz, it's Utah. That's the
thing that makes it unique because jazz. There's no jazz
in Utah. None that play shuts down at like eight o'clock, Benny, Utah.

Speaker 8 (33:58):
No harder here's to find a place that's open after sundown. No,
I've never I've never been. I've been invited to Utah,
but I've never I've never gone to you stand out,
whoa whoa whoa.

Speaker 4 (34:11):
Greg Very, I gotta cackle out of back up for
a second, gressa kid A little too.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
Hard a little bit. Hey, I've been to Utah, right,
so you be home to anything wrong? You will not
blend in.

Speaker 8 (34:28):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
So so that picked me up in the lineup, like
like in moments.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
Right, it was number four, right, especially in that bedazzled sweater.

Speaker 6 (34:40):
Oh, but that's the country.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
