Speaker 1 (00:00):
Five, six, six, nine zero is the text line, ruy
we being going to join us in the next segment,
looking forward to talking to her about all the goings
on in sports this weekend.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Broncos have a clear path to.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
The playoffs now, as we uh uh, as we look
at this post Atlanta Falcons beat down the schedule lining
up pretty favorably as we as we look at what
Denver has on the table, You're you're headed out to
Las Vegas next. You never want to overlook an opponent,
but this is certainly a winnable game, and the Raiders

(00:34):
sitting there at two and eight haven't managed to get
really anything going on offense outside of Brock Bowers, who
looks like a stud by the way, it looks like
an absolute stud.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
The rest of that offense looks like hot garbage. Uh.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
You follow that up with a Monday night game against
the then well rested Cleveland Browns. Brown's gonna be playing
on Thursday night this week, and there the next game
will be that Monday night, and then you hit the
bye week both the both the Raiders and the Browns
two and eight. The Browns up against the Steelers on
Thursday night, not particularly favored to get a win there, you.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Get the bye week, then you got the Colts at home.
So you're at home for.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Cleveland on Monday night, the bye week and home for
the Colts.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
The Colts at five and six right now.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
They did beat the Jets, but they don't look like
a world beater. That looks like a winnable game as well.
Maybe a little less so in Vegas or Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
But you could.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Conceivably come out of that stretch of games with nine wins,
eight nine wins, with the last three games of the
season staring right in the face, and the magic number
is probably ten, right, So if you come out of
that with nine, you just need to take one of
LA Cincinnati or Kansas City. You come out with eight,
you need to take two of them. At this point,
you're looking at an LA team. It looks to be
in contention. That's gonna be a tough game. It was

(01:45):
a tough game for you obviously here in Denver at Cincinnati.
They could be packed in by that. You know they
can't play defense, they keep losing games. It might be
at that point you start resting your Chase and Burrows
and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Listen, I don't know about that, because what you're suggesting
that the Bingals just kind of give up on the season.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
If you get to the second to last week of
the season, you're not in the playoff contention, what are
you doing?

Speaker 3 (02:13):
You're still trying to play, as they say, play for
pride at that point. I don't see the Bengals and
Zach Taylor saying, you know what, he get fired by
then we're not in the mix. So now we're just
going to fork over the season to everyone else.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
You wouldn't rest Joe Burrow and jamars are I mean,
if you're if you're a four or five wins of this,
you know in the last part of the season, aren't
you trying to tag for a better draft pick at
that point?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
No, you're still trying to win football games because every coach,
even when you don't make the playoffs, you want to
end on a high note.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
And let's just say Zach Taylor's job is in jeopardy.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Winning the final two games of the season could change
the Browns family's mind if he's still employed and keeping
it so. Thinking by the time the Broncos play Cincinnati.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Zach Taylor might not be the head coach of the
Cincinnati Bengals at that point.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Well, to me, the issue isn't the offense is for
the Bengals, I agree, defus side the ball, I agree.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
But she had some pretty pointed comments from Jamar Chase
at the locker room talking about the kicker, talking about
the head coach.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
It was not what I would necessarily cause.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
It doesn't appear like wait, okay, songs are going well
in Cincinnati in that lot.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Show right, be mad as a wide receiver.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
But at the same time, if I'm not mistaken, over
the past three games where Joe Burrow is lighting it up,
he's on the opposite end of those receptions and touchdowns,
So how bad could things be for him?

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Now?

Speaker 3 (03:40):
He may be upset because the team isn't winning, But
at the same time, it's not.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Zach Taylor's fault.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
If he's got a problem, he needs to walk over
to the defensive meeting room, walk in the room, talk
to every defensive player in.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
The room and say, you guys are screwing it up
for us.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I mean they are, plus the kicker, I mean McPherson
was a phenomenal kicker.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
My fantasy kicker, by the way, has not been playing well.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Fifteen of twenty one on field goal attempts this year,
and he missed an extra point as well, including what
would have been game clinchers against the Chargers last night.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
It's been a bad couple of games for kickers, right,
I mean you think about Young Way who how he struggled.
You think about Justin Tucker who who was like Justin
Tucker broken automatic?

Speaker 2 (04:27):
He missed two against Pittsburgh two unheard of?

Speaker 1 (04:31):
He was broken at this point. I mean Justin Tucker v. McPherson.
He's young, though he doesn't have an excuse. He's in
his own head and okay, there's a difference though, see Tucker.
Because Tucker has been there before.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
I have faith in confidence that he could bounce back
and come back from it because he's a bet.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
McPherson not so much when you're a young player and you've.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Experienced some success and then all of a sudden you
hit a streak of bad games, bad performance, that weighs
on your mind. So Tucker will be able to bounce
back from this.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
But kicking is such a mental game though, Like remember
Martin Grammatica, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
And then when he started missing, it was all of
a sudden, couldn't hit anything, a cuff need to go
to an arctica.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Yeah it was, I mean it it's you know, we've
seen this where kicking is such a mental game that
the kickers they get.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
In their own head.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
They're trying to overcorrect the other direction. The next thing
you know, they're just missing everything. And that's sort of
what it looks like right now for McPherson. Looks like
a guy who's a kid who's in his own head.
I mean, he's his fourth year kicking. You know, this
is not a guy who's been around the league for
a long time. He's his fourth year as a professional.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
But what that means is that the Bengals are scoring
at such a high level that they're giving him opportunity
after opportunity. So when we look at that game, even
though it's further down the line for the Denver Broncos,
to me, that does not become an easy game for
the Broncos because what we know is Jamar.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Chase is there.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
T Higgins is trying to get a massive contract. He's
not going to pack it in. He's not going to
pack it in, So you're gonna get the Broncos best
shot you're gonna get the bengals best shot in the game.
And oh, by the way, by that time, who was
to say that this can't be the battle for that
number seven seed.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Yeah, it's it's just been I mean and mean Fierston,
to his credit, he's missing a longer field goals, not
like he's missing the short ones. He's what nine for
nine inside of forty, But you get into that forty
to fifty range, that's he's missing. He's missed two this year.
He's missed four from from longer than fifty. You talk
about a guy who is in eighty four percent field
goal kicker who's kicking at seventy one percent this year.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
That's that's a problem for anyway.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
My larger point was the Bengals if they continue to lose,
it feels to me like you pack it in. You
don't risk injury to burrow the lap meaningless last two
games of the season. Uh, you don't risk injury to Chase,
especially if you're probably letting Higgins walk at the end
of the year because you're not gonna be able to
afford him. He was twenty eight million a year and
eighty million guaranteed. To me, it feels like you're at
that point. It's the Jake Browning Show. You know, they're
in Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
I'm glad you're not coaching ben I'm just saying, I mean,
you caught up. When we see it from a from
all perspective perpective all the time.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
The reason Russ Wilson got benched last year wasn't the
offensive spark and Jared Stidham. We know that this is
the same reason that Daniel Jones is getting benched right now.
They know they're gonna let him go at the end
of the year and they don't want anything to do
with him getting hurt injury guarantee.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
But that's a different scenario.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
When we looking at you know, Joe Burrow in the Bengals,
I mean, he is by far one of the most talented,
you know quarterbacks in the game.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
And I was selling Grant before we jumped on, like.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
It is so bizarre to know that he has played
these past three weeks like sensational football, like out of
his mind. Yeah, watching some of the throws he made
against the Chargers down the middle of the field, it
was like, oh boy, and he took shot after shot.
Now the idea is that he's not in the contract year,

(07:44):
but they want to make sure that they're moving in
the right direction.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Now.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
If what you are suggesting comes true, that would speak
volumes to the ownership.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Of the Browns, who have been cost effective. Notice I
didn't say cheap frugal.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Yes, over the past couple of years, and this would
be something out of their normal playbook. But knowing as
though you have talented players, if you do that, that
was signified that you gave up on the season. If
I'm a player on that roster, I'm not gonna respect you, guys.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
And if I'm.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
A player on inspiring deal, I don't want to come
back because you are not building a winning culture.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Yeah, but I mean, if you get to four and eight,
what are you doing? Four and nine, four and ten,
what are you doing?

Speaker 3 (08:25):
And look, I don't know about you, but I'm still
trying to win. I'm trying to win football.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Grant me on the field.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Wait, wait, hold on, wait, let's ask the long standing
Cincinnati Bengals fan here, which is Grant Smith. If the
Bengals at that point are out of playoff contention, are
you in agreement with Ben Is saying just go ahead
and take the last two games of the season.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
If they're mathematically eliminated. Don't you say it? Don't you
say it?

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Joe Burrow's injury history. T Higgins leaving next year, I
think I'm in. I'm agreeing with Ben right now. It's
hard to have that come out of my mouth that
I'm agreeing with you. You guys were talking about how
good Joe Burrow was playing. I gave you this stat
off air, Nick. There have been fourteen quarterbacks with twenty

(09:11):
five plus pass touchdowns and fewer than five interceptions for
their first eleven games of a season, fourteen all time,
Joe Burrow in twenty twenty four the only one to
ever have a losing record through the team's first eleven games.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Yeah, I feel.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Sorry for Joe that he had to be drafted by
the Beats to feel sorryful because you feel.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
That bad for him. He's got a lot of money,
fair so.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Much so that on the broadcast and SAT Higgins say
that he hangs out at Joe Burrow's house.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Right, of course we go to his place, big Well. Yeah,
I hate to see players who.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Had great, successful collegiate seasons go to an NFL team
where they just fall off. The mat That's why I'm
so terrified for or Shador Sanders. Come twenty twenty five,
there's a possibility that he could be drafted by the
Cleveland Browns. He could be and we've seen what they've
done with quarterbacks. They just they just destroy you.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
By the way, the Giants had a big contention to
the game this this past weekend looking at Shador.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Just put that out there. Yes they did, they did, Yes,
I should looking at the coach statue.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
I'm just saying the Giants, it seems like Shador is
built for a big market, New York.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
I think you can handle New York.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
I know, uh, I know, probably doesn't want him in
a cold weather environment, but he could absolutely handle that
New York.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
We've been through that.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
New York.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Vian not a cold weather environment. Man, He's playing in Colorado.
What are you talking about, though? It's not cold here? Okay,
what's your definition of cold? Cold? Were talking about Green
Bay cold? Because that's a whole lot, that's the planet
of Hawk. Yes, that's exactly. Yes, I'm not even talking
about like it's not that cold here though.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Like it's just try it doesn't get his cold as
like it's it really doesn't. They don't snow sometimes. But
he is not as cold as people think it is
here I lived. I lived in Chicago before it is.
Chicago is different.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Kado City cold is different than here.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Yeah yeah yeah, human wet cold is so different than
the dry cold. But since look I lived and played
in New York, New York. Yeah, I played in Canada, Buffalo,
New York, and I would say that it gets cold
in New York City, but you'll be able to stand it.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Shaudor would be able to stand it.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
But the idea of going to the organization, they may
not put Chardor in the right.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
System to be effective. That that's that's my only.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Thing that's possibility. Of course you stepped right into Elik
neighbors right there. But they got to build a line
in New York.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
And once again we've seen what Shador looks like and
first year on the Prime with no offensive line, and
but New York might be looking at that like, well,
he can keep us afloat till we get one.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Ain't not the line coming step.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Mine with with Daniel Jones, Because Daniel jones biggest asset
is the fact that he can move and even you,
he can move. He can move better than your door,
and you want to you will put your door behind.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
That office of Nope. If I'm prime, I'm like, you
know what, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
A reverse eli, Yes, exactly, Yes, that's exactly what you do.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Like, yeah, cause we're not coming, but we should know
about the Bengals. They're are a bye week right now, They're
gonna come out. They're gonna take on the Pittsburgh Steelers
at home. They lose that game, that they're cooked.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
And even though the schedule is easy after that, because
you're at Dallas, at Tennessee, versus Cleveland and then Denver,
I see, I just I'm not putting Burrow at Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
I understand what you and Brant are saying, and I
understand the fact that everything is riding on Joe Burrow,
but just me being a player, I just can't concede
with that that that idea that.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
I'm with you on the players stop playing.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
I'm with you on the players side of things, but
I'm coming at this from an organizational standpoint. Joe Burrows
the franchise, and we are not playing him in meaningless
game games in versus Denver and at Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
To end the season, and that'll be're eliminated.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
That'll be a contentious conversation too, because you know Joe
Burrow is gonna want to play right to play. But
all of this is a moot point because the Bengals
are gonna win every game leading up to that Broncos
matching right they are.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
They'll they'll probably lose the Pittsburgh game, and then they'll
win down.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
When that the Pittsburgh game as well.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
We're putting us out in the world for you at
the opposite side of that.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
But I do believe they'll win at Dallas. I do
believe to win at Tennessee. I do believe they win
at home against Cleveland.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
So this puts them in what are they four and
seven right now? So you're talking what four and eight
and then you're talking seven and eight with with staring
out you might not pull it at seven and light.
I'm tempting on the way everything else is.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
You know, everything sets up they're not because that game
is going to be so important for them to stay
in the race.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Now, you lose any of those three games Dallas, Tennessee
and but you're you're cooked, You're done, right, you lose
any two of those games, and.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
I'm they're gonna lose. I think if they lose one more,
they're done. So week, but hope is a dangerous drug.
Hope Hem's a hell of address I'm saying right now
is manifesting right now, he's manifested. We got six wins
in a row in this season, marching into the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Hot A, you're coming off the bi week. I mean,
sure you might. You might take Pittsburgh at that point. See,
but that's a tough defense. That's a tough defensive. And
like Dallas, Tennessee, Cleveland, I mean those three teams, those
teams stink. They stink. Uh, Dallas is three and six
and losing right now. You got Cleveland is two and eight.
You have the Tennessee's two and eight. That they can
win those games. But I mean at what at that point,

(14:38):
for what cost? You know, like if you if you
win Pittsburgh, okay, but you lose to Pittsburgh, I already
got to start thinking.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Okay, okay, let's reverse the scenario really quickly.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
All right.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
So we talked about Cincinnati and if they're not winning,
what they could do as far as in the season
tank it is there a possibility to say, the Broncos
run the table, the Raiders, Cleveland, the Colts, the Chargers,
and they got finding two games left, and they know,
no matter if they lose those last two games, they
still hold the seventh seed. Will the Broncos do the

(15:09):
same thing that you're suggesting that the Bengals would do.

Speaker 6 (15:13):
Well.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
First of all, you're giving them a big one there
with win over the Chargers at LA, which I don't expect.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
I'm on that hope.

Speaker 7 (15:18):
I'm gonna go, but I'm gonna go ahead and go
with your premise that I also don't agree with, because
each one of these gotta winning. You got Cincinna win
a game. I don't think they win. You got the
Broncos win the game. I don't think they win. I'll
roll your premise.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
I don't know if you do that against Cincy, but yeah,
you do it against Kansas City, and Andy Reid's go
to do it against Kansas City too. You know, Andy
Reid does it every year. They rest the starters every year.
So Jara stood and wins that game for the Broncos.
Spark ye. I call him the only cops true. I
call him the autobot because he's gonna be the.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
He's I'm just saying, like, dude, bro, you're gonna have
a game that's got Jared instead of starting, we're gonna see.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Callin frock Morton.

Speaker 7 (15:53):
Wait, we gonna get a full full dose of whatever
receivers on the back end of the practice squad.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Now, well, think about this, think about this in there
we just laid out so that means like, uh Russ
beat Kansas City once you know, Bot needs to have
his opportunity. The Broncos didn't do it because the black
field goal, So Jared's didham ends up in the season
winning a game against Kansas.

Speaker 8 (16:15):
City quarterback controvers Wow, not to kidding. We have romy
Being coming up next. Broncos Country five six six nine zeros.
The text line got quite a few good texts. We
get back to those here in just a little bit.
We're gonna go out right right now, so.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
You can't wait, Common Spirraul of hotline though, bring on
our good.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Friend romy Bean. Romy's over there at CBS Roby. How
you doing this evening?

Speaker 5 (16:37):
Oh doing great? Guys? Being relevant in November is a
beautiful thing, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (16:43):
Not just relevant but blowing folks out in November. You
see you Bomps took on the utah Utes.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
What is it a what a you to haunt? Uh?

Speaker 1 (16:52):
And then the the Denver Broncos of course put it
to the Yeah, put it to the Atlanta Falcons.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Uh. Interesting to watch two different teams take two different
pathways from devastating losses.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
Is the utah Utes folded to the cu Boss, but
the Denver Broncos bounced back from devastating loss from the
Kansas City Chiefs and managed to put it to Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (17:11):
I mean, both of.

Speaker 9 (17:12):
Them were such fantastic wins. And the crazy thing about
almost some parallels is both of them with incredible powerhouse offenses.

Speaker 6 (17:21):
But I don't think any one of the beginning of
the season would have said that the hallmark of both
the Denver Broncos and the Colorada of Buffaloes is the defense.
I mean, the defense has been so incredible. We look
at the Broncos game.

Speaker 9 (17:34):
You've laid thirty eight.

Speaker 10 (17:35):
Points on anybody with Boenickx's performance.

Speaker 9 (17:37):
We can go on and on, and we should, but
six points not allowing a touchdown. I mean, this defense
week in and week out continues. You know, they bounce
back obviously, I know you got the Ravens game, but
really that one aside, they have been so stellar all year.
You gotta imagine they give Sean Payton a lot of
freedom to work with bo Nicks and to try things

(17:57):
that they don't work. It's okay because you know the
defense is going to hold. And on the same token
with the Bus defense, right, sure throws a pick and
what does the defense do? I mean, you tuk in
the red zone. They hold them to a field goal.
It happened later in the game too with the fumble,
and then the Bus defense I think holds them again.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
So it's with those short fields. So it's really incredible.

Speaker 10 (18:19):
I feel like we love talking offense and we should.

Speaker 9 (18:22):
Well, we got to give credit to both defenses because
they have been unbelievable all season long.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Well, Romey, I'm glad that you actually brought that up.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Talking about the defense, Let's start with the See You
Bus defense first before you join those. In earliest segments
we were talking about, you know, Levonte Bentley and Will Green.
How impressive that those two linebackers have been for SeeU
and made the difference.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
What has stood out to you when you watched that tandem.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
Oh man.

Speaker 9 (18:53):
They are just they're you know, heat seeking missiles, those guys,
and they are relentless and interesting because both of them
spoke after the game and they said, right, they're the
old guys in the room, and they take it upon
themselves to just you know, weake in and week out,
be a leader, set the tone, put their you know,
foot on their throats.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
All the words you want, But.

Speaker 10 (19:12):
I think a lot has to be said about, you know.

Speaker 9 (19:14):
What Warren Sapp has brought to that team. We all
kind of wondered what kind of a coach Warren Sapp
was gonna be, and he has injected the type of
player that we all, you know, love to watch Warren
Sapp when he was a player in the NFL, that
tenacity that truly at war. You see that right with
the defensive front and Blees back in the linebacker.

Speaker 5 (19:37):
And it was.

Speaker 9 (19:37):
Coach Julu as well. So I think the coaching this
is such an incredibly.

Speaker 5 (19:42):
Well coached Colorado team. They have really really.

Speaker 9 (19:44):
Talented coaches, and Warrensaff has brought so much just energy, tenacity,
and these guys just soak it up, every last ounce
of it.

Speaker 5 (19:53):
And it's really fun to watch they set the tone.

Speaker 9 (19:56):
And they really take pride in setting the tone and
being the of that team.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Talk about romy Bean from CBS romy I think CU's
biggest challenge is this coming week. I think this Kansas
football team is the biggest challenge. A record might not
reflect it, but they're a very good football team. They've
won three of their last four coming off the buy
and the lone loss was a two point loss at
Kansas State. I see you fans are riding high right now,
getting the sort of the Utah thing off their back.

(20:22):
But at the end of the day, I think the
biggest challenge actually lies in front of them is the
road paved to the Big Twelve championship here.

Speaker 9 (20:31):
I mean, I think you're totally right. The craziest thing
with Colorado is I truly believe when Colorado's playing their
best football, they're the best team in the Big Twelve.
But they have to make sure they get out of
their own They can't get in their own way, right
the silly penalties, you know, unfortunately, penalties things like that
taking you back to back, you know, offensive holding calls

(20:53):
at those kind of penalties.

Speaker 5 (20:55):
It can't make.

Speaker 9 (20:55):
Silly mistakes, you know, controlling the clock, finishing, really finishing,
a team stepping on their throats, and that's something that
I feel like we have been wanting to see from
this team. We saw it in the fourth quarter against.

Speaker 10 (21:07):
Utah, but like you look at that Texas Tech game, right, they.

Speaker 9 (21:09):
Didn't close it out. So that's something that Colorado has
to do. And a team like Kansas.

Speaker 10 (21:15):
Has playing their best ball in November, that's riding high.

Speaker 9 (21:19):
As well, and they've been beating really good teams. I
totally agree with you. I think this is a big test.
I think Oklahoma State is a test because it's a Friday,
a Friday ten am game, Like that's a tough one too,
Friday ten am right after Thanksgiving, So you've got things
that could get.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
In the way. But I do believe that if Colorado's.

Speaker 10 (21:36):
Playing their best ball, they're the best team.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
In the Big twelve.

Speaker 9 (21:39):
And the only thing that can really get in the
way is themselves, is them not playing their best ball,
is them taking their foot off the gas. Against a
team like Kansas that has shown they are very dangerous,
this is going to be a fun matchup. They've got
some great dbs, so a team that cannot be taken
mighty for sure.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
What also can't be taken lightly is bold and his
trajectory when you look at both Nicks in comparison to
so many other rookie quarterbacks around the league. I know
his stought is really high, but what about his game
that has changed in your opinion from like week once
right now?

Speaker 9 (22:18):
Yeah, I mean, I think the craziest thing is the
speed at which he's made the progression. And you look
at go back to that Seattle game and you look
at some of these throws he's making and then making
similar thros in yesterday's game, and it's like a completely
different person. And the one thing in the off season, guys,
right that the coaches kept.

Speaker 10 (22:36):
Telling us he never makes the same mistake twice, and you're,
you know, you're.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
Like, okay, all right, let's see it.

Speaker 9 (22:41):
But you really see this kid, weak in and week out,
just grow and improve from his any mistakes that you
kind of saw the week before. You can tell the
game is really starting to slow down for him. And
I just think when we went into this season, everybody kind.

Speaker 10 (22:56):
Of went in and said, this is the year to
see how Bonix develops.

Speaker 9 (22:59):
This is playing for twenty twenty five, for twenty twenty six,
but his progression is coming at such a fast rate,
and now they are playing for twenty twenty four and
now playoffs absolutely are a realistic possibility. And I think
a lot of it has to speak to guys we'll
go over on between the years, right, I think that's
something you don't really know until you see.

Speaker 10 (23:19):
Them is on the NFL stage, and his.

Speaker 9 (23:22):
Maturity, all the stuff we speak about, but he's I
think he's special upstairs and that Cary can carry a
quarterback a really long way. But even go back to
the same game, right, we're really concerned about his footwork.
And look at his footwork now, I mean week in
and week out. It's just so impressive how quickly he's progressing.

Speaker 5 (23:41):
And it gives me a lot of.

Speaker 9 (23:42):
Excitement for what the rest of this season could hold
and where he could be at the end.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Of the season.

Speaker 9 (23:47):
And we're talking about year one.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
We really are talking with romy Bean from CBS.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
Robbie's important question here, probably the biggest question of the night.
Earlier in the show, we were talking about pasta sauce
and Nick Fergus and had no clue that you put
basil in pasta sauce. Are you and anti lights as
Nick Ferguson is, or do you put basil in the
pasta sauce?

Speaker 9 (24:10):
I am an overspicy light, is what I am. I'm like, Oh,
let me get a some of that. Oh, let's some
time in there.

Speaker 5 (24:16):
How about an oregano?

Speaker 9 (24:17):
Like I just I am as you can tell with
my sometimes, like my clothing, like I'm always too extra.
So I'm extra with my sauces and I'll always put
in one too many spices and then it just tastes
really weird.

Speaker 5 (24:30):
But I'll eat it anyway. But basil always goes in there.
I will tell you that.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Good.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Wait, I just I needed to I need to weigh
in on that. I felt rejected twice after the basil.
Then I shared some of my I brought cranberry pineapple
juice and for the guys to drink.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Grant loved it. Nick, it wasn't working for me.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Still a Martinelli's man, I couldn't move him off his
apple juice.

Speaker 9 (24:48):
Okay, okay, cranberry pineapple never.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
Had that goes great with vodka. Just say, I'm just
putting it out there. If you don't like it, sent
it right back.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
See maybe that was the missing part of Ben's want
me to go get you some vodka? No no, no,
no no no. I don't then, because if that happened,
obviously the show would definitely go go off the rails.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
But Romie, well, you think about the Broncos running game.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
That was something that was of a topic ofcoming conversation.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Coming into the.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Falcons game, we saw object Estimate get some carries and
it seems as though going into the game against the
Falcons that he was I guess emerging as running back
number one. Do you see a scenario with six games
reminding in the season that object Estimate actually takes.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Over that role?

Speaker 9 (25:44):
You know, I think it's pretty clear that Adric Estimate
is Javonte Williams's successor. I think that Javonte's had an
up and down season.

Speaker 10 (25:52):
But then he'll have games like he had in.

Speaker 9 (25:54):
It yesterday against Atlanta, where you know, he's still the
veteran of the group and there's no reason to replace
him at this point.

Speaker 5 (26:02):
But I think the writing's on.

Speaker 10 (26:03):
The wall there right Audric is the future.

Speaker 9 (26:06):
In that department. You know he will replace Javonte. But
you know, you think about Audric.

Speaker 5 (26:13):
And it's funny.

Speaker 9 (26:13):
I just had him on my show and he was
fantastic when we were talking about it.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
And I almost kind of forgot right.

Speaker 9 (26:18):
He missed OTAs with an injury.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
Then he goes on four games on IR after week.

Speaker 9 (26:23):
One, so he's had his progression has been flowed. So
I think that the way that we see know him
kind of get utilized the last three weeks. It's now
starting to come into a picture. Along with a lot
of the other rookies as well, how big of a
role that they could play. But I think right now,
you know, it doesn't make sense since replace so to speak,

(26:44):
Javonte just yet. But I do agree that at some point,
and sooner than later, right, he will be the successor
and eventually be that number one and romy.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
The Nuggets have been a disaster without Nicole joke.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
And I don't think Jamal Murray has adequately lived up
to the contract that he signed. I mean, if you're
going to step in, you've got to be the guy
when he's out. It just doesn't feel like he has.
I mean, obviously they've had Gordon out. I felt like
Porter has has sort of stepped up in those roles
at times, but not not really been.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Consistent with it.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
How sunk is this Nuggets team if Nikola Jokic has
gone for any extended period of time.

Speaker 9 (27:19):
I mean, like, I don't hate to say this. I
say this all the time when we talk about Jokic,
and I always tell people they just enjoy this because
as soon as Nikoliokicic retires whenever that is, we're talking
about a different Denver Nuggets team.

Speaker 10 (27:33):
Right.

Speaker 9 (27:34):
He he makes this team a completely different team because
he is a once in a generation type of a player.
He's playing like an MVP, you know, as he goes
to Denver Nuggets go and they're just simply an okay
team without.

Speaker 5 (27:49):
Him, you know, and.

Speaker 9 (27:50):
There's challenged players, sure, but without Nikoliokic, this team is,
you know, maybe scrapping to make the playoffs like that.
I think that's just an honestreat, you know, with even
with the rest of the talented guy.

Speaker 5 (28:03):
So it's one of those things.

Speaker 9 (28:05):
It certainly makes you appreciate it.

Speaker 10 (28:06):
This is why every year I'm like, you can't get hurt.

Speaker 5 (28:08):
You can't get hurt.

Speaker 9 (28:09):
This team just looks different, right because I mean, Yokis
is a general out there, right, So I obviously they've
got game.

Speaker 10 (28:15):
Plans and this, that and the other.

Speaker 9 (28:16):
But you can see how much he ad libs, for
lack of a better word, when he's.

Speaker 10 (28:21):
Out there, how much he changes the game, how much.

Speaker 9 (28:23):
He elevates every single player around him. Right, young players
don't look like the same young players when they're on
the court with and without Nicole Jokish.

Speaker 5 (28:32):
So that just is what it is.

Speaker 9 (28:33):
And I think Jamal Murray is you know, that's I
think a lot of Nuggets fans feel exactly.

Speaker 5 (28:38):
How you said that. Jamal Murray kind of shows up
a lot of times in the playoffs. People want on
your show up in the regular season.

Speaker 9 (28:44):
You got paid all this money. You know, you want
to be the guy, be the guy you want to
You want it to be your team. You know, then
when Yokich is out elevate, make it your team.

Speaker 10 (28:54):
And I think that's a common frustration that.

Speaker 9 (28:56):
A lot of a lot of Nuggets fans have and
really had for a long time with them.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Well, you knows, sometimes when you leave an organization or
you leave a team, you figure out how much you
are appreciated. And you were out there yesterday and you
saw Justin Simmons, he was.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
Out there with his family.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
But there were there were moments after the game where
you saw so many for former teammates rather and coaches
come out over to Justin to really kind of congratulate
him and validate him. What do you think that that
meant for him to know that his teammates and coaches
and his organization appreciated him that much.

Speaker 10 (29:35):
Yeah, that was so cool to see that.

Speaker 9 (29:37):
Quite literally almost every single player. I mean there was
a line, right, guys were like waiting to go and
and you you just saw this line of guys, one
guy after the other, and coaches and everybody wanted to
get their chance to talk to Justin. And I think
that the game obviously didn't go the way that he
was hoping that it would go, you know, but for him,

(29:59):
I say, to have that validation of how much he
means to those players, I mean, he raised a lot
of those guys, you know in so many ways, you know,
Pat Pj, all of these guys, you know, even Riley, Like,
he taught them how to be outstanding members of the community,
and he did so much for them of stuff that
we will never see, right, And so I thought it

(30:20):
was so great for.

Speaker 10 (30:21):
Him to get that kind of recognition, because you know
how these things.

Speaker 9 (30:24):
Go on the business side, you're out one day, you
don't really.

Speaker 10 (30:26):
Get a chance to say goodbye, like you.

Speaker 9 (30:28):
Know, and it's kind of weird. So I thought that
was really fantastic. It was cool that he got to
stay afterwards and he was out with a lot of
the players and their families at the end of the game.

Speaker 10 (30:39):
Just hanging out with them, and I just thought that.

Speaker 9 (30:42):
Was so great because he's a guy that for all
he did on the field, he did so much more
off it, right, I mean, he has done for this community.
It's you can't even count the ways that he has
impacted this community. And so for everybody to kind of
rally around him like that, I thought that was pretty cool.

Speaker 5 (30:59):
Of course, there's.

Speaker 9 (31:00):
Idiots on the internet being like, oh, it's saying really
stupid things, but those people do not matter. A lot
of people really embrace justin It was awesome.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Yeah, that's the way it needs to be. I saw
some of those tweets and I was just like, what
are we even doing here?

Speaker 1 (31:12):
What you try to hot take the guy you know,
who's coming back to this community when he's playing career
is done, probably jumping into media now you're trying to
hot take that guy.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
I mean you might be working with him someday, you.

Speaker 9 (31:22):
Know, Yeah, no kidding.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
So I found that to be to be a fascinating responsor, Ronnie.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Last thing for I get you out of here.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
In terms of the Denver Broncos, the road is starting
to look paved towards the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
So we are we daring to dream?

Speaker 5 (31:38):
Oh you know what I feel like?

Speaker 9 (31:39):
Am I getting ahead of myself? Yes, I'm absolutely getting
ahead of myself. But I feel like that playoff drought
is going to come to an end. And it's so
pretty confident about it. One because we see this offense
continue to grow week in and week out. If both
continues to progress like this, he is a quarterback that
you can lead a team.

Speaker 10 (31:57):
To the playoffs.

Speaker 9 (31:58):
And again let's circle back to what we say are
with the top of this the defense. This is a
super Bowl caliber defense. This is a playoff caliber defense,
and it is one of those defenses that even if
your offense has an off day, if they can continue
to play the way they did, you can have an
off day and still win some really important games. And
I think what makes this stretch really exciting is a

(32:20):
lot of these games have shoots playoff implications. The Chargers
game at that Bengals game is probably going to be
a play in game potentially for both teams.

Speaker 5 (32:28):
Right, you got the Colts. So there's so many.

Speaker 9 (32:31):
Games that every single game kind of mean something. So
now we see how this young team responds to an
opportunity to do something that this franchise has not done
in a long time, and to do what they have
all been saying that they feel like they can do
this year, and that's to make the playoffs. And I'm
all in, let's go postseason.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
Be fantastic to possibly even have two Colorado teams in
their playoffs in football. Hopefully we can make that happen
