Speaker 1 (00:00):
Old favorite Steve Atwater here, Grant Smith, Stephen Rodstill or
if you'll argue over bitcoin right now, come on bitcoin
right you try to try to get Steve's passphrase, this
twenty five word passphrase, get his cold storage wallet.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Hey, I don't happen like a tent a bitcoin. Yeah,
I believe in that, No believe it. I got so
little bit uh huh five.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Six sixth nine zeros a text line I got. I
got a cold stories from my bitcoin, got it? You
got a few sossociates in there, I got I got
something in there, a little bit, a little bit in there.
I uh, yeah, bro, if I gotta go bag, if
I ever got to go, yeah, if ever it ever happens,
ever goes, I got cold storages bitcoin and they never
find me. There we go, There we go about the
rest of my days. I'm just saying five six six
(00:48):
nine zero is the text line.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Now, Broncos get a thirty one thirteen.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Win over the Endian Apples coldhole. That game did not
feel that close. And uh, I'll be honest.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
With you, half man. They just over to I can
have defense back.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
They had the bad luck, or in the Broncos case,
good luck with Taylor dropping the ball before he crosses
the hole line.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Like how in this same age. I can't imagine what
his teammates were thinking.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Yeah, it was funny because the Colts were running down
our throat up to that point and they got then
they stopped.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Running the ball.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Yeah, the confidence level, like they're conferencing their run game
was shot at that but they just quit doing it.
And then they start trying to throw the ball, doing
truck plays and and all this other stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Bred they were running and they were putting it to this. Yeah,
they they had a nice game plan coming in.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
And you know, Andy Richardson, he was I think a
streaky player. Like when he's hot, he's hot, and when
he's not, he's not. Keebo key bo.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
He was missing dudes like t miss dude. He also
was the script. He was. He was red hot coming
out the man. I was like, man, what's this guy
doing in the run the run for the times down? Yeah,
and I'm like, oh oh, but I was. I was
like hey, I'd be hey, We're good. I didn't. I didn't.
I didn't panic your panics when Jonathan.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Taylor took off on I run at that moment, I
was like.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Oh, we just lost. Like I made my mind. I
didn't say it, but I was like, we just lost.
And then I looked I saw the replays. Wait a minute,
I think.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
He dropped the ball and they were going back and
they're looking at it, and I was like.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Oh my, and it changed everything. Man, I just can't.
I bet that just deflated the entire team. I mean
that ended the Colt season. Yeah, I mean they're right there,
one tight nik LEI alive.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
But I mean you need like everybody to lose out
in order for that to happen.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
But I still think we would have. You still think
we would have pulled it out.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
And being down twenty to twenty to was a twenty
seven at that point.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Twenty to seven.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Man, we got some we got we got some guns
on this team, you know, guns, we got some ballers.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
But man, they were putting it to us at that point.
And I was like, they one team.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
In the first half, one of those two teams was
treated like the playoff game.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
It was was the Colts. And then the second half happened,
you know, and then the real team came out. Right.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
My my question, are my biggest question that I've had
about this, and the problem for me is that everybody
thinks I'm hating on Bow when I.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Say it, I'm not.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
My question is that's two multi interception games in a row.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Now, granted, one of the interceptions last week.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Was Boas fault, but you know the other that's two
multi interception games in a row. Which one was his fault,
the one that hit the receiver in the hands, that
went up in the air.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
I can tell you the dB got in there. I'm
not counting.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
I'm not counting that as an interception of the quarterback.
And receive you've got you got to make a better
play on that. Come on, come on, man, I'm just saying, receive,
you gotta hang on it. And it's you in hands,
it's it's yours, it's your ball. Don't lets somebody else
take it. Come on both and handing it boat.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Bow's mean he's getting all the pub and sometimes we
gotta we gotta take it.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Count every player.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
You gotta do it. It counts, gets them on the same.
But my question is that's two multi interception games in
a row. Is this a trend or.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Is this just you know, is it just it just happens.
It's part of football.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
And defenses make plays too, and even the defense that
you don't expect sometimes they make good plays. And it's
just part of it. Man. It's the biggest thing at
the end of the day, is is you win the game.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
And I know some people don't look at it like that.
They look at it like, oh, you got to.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Dominate in order to you know, uh, be considered a
legit contender.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
But you just gotta win.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Yeah, it doesn't matter if you you don't have to
be the best team in football.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
You just got to be the best team in the stadium.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Yeah, on that Sunday, you got to be the best team.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Yeah, you gotta be the best team in the stadium
that day. And then if you if you do that enough,
you're gonna wind up being the champion.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Because you see these teams who have lost just about
every game and they'll come out and they'll beat somebody
that they're.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Not supposed to be. You see it all the time.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
You see some weird ups that you're like, wait a minute,
what Yeah, and you know, you.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Just got to be the best team that day.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
My question though, I mean the Broncos as we were
pivoting towards and we're on the precipice of the playoffs.
Win one more than you're you're in. It's basically basically
where we're at at this point. You got a short
weekend against a very physical Chargers team.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
You gotta follow that up by uh and on the
road travel to since An had he one of the
most high octane offenses in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
UH.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
And you're gonna end it with a Kansas City team
that might be resting starters, might be without Pama Holmes
ankled injury he had, he might be shelved to the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
But I've seen him be in just so many times.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
He come off the field lipping you know, you know.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
That little yeah, oh man, he's just dropping down. So
I'm not I'm not I'm not taking that injury.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Seriously.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
I don't think he's gonna play this week at Houston.
I think it'll be Carson Wentz.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Yeah. But I mean then you got at the end
of the end of the season.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
I mean, are you gonna try him out there once
more before the playoffs just to shake the rust back off?
Speaker 2 (05:38):
He might have to right too, might be the first
half against the Broncos. Who knows, but this is not
an easy slate. The Broncos need one of three. You
got a short week.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
On the road in l a game against the Chargers,
the team that beats you in your house.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
The they have is the running running back. Is he
is he back? He went back in this last game.
Keep him out. Yeah, the gust bus is not. Uh,
but that boy is a Bay. That's as a load
he is.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
But man, they have not uh, he has not gotten
going with the Chargers this year.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
For whatever reason, they got away rolling against us the
first game.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Yeah, but I mean they're just they're running the h
They're throwing the ball all over the place right now,
and it's just sort of like, you know, that's probably
why they lost.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
I mean they were there.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
They had a tough matchup as it was anyway against Tampa.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Hopefully I continue doing that, but well, I mean, you know,
Tampa got him damp Kevin did get him.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
They got him good like forty seventeen. It was close. Uh,
it was so they were winning at the half, yeah, and.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Then Tampa just said no, sir in the second half
and they were uh, and they put it to him.
They were running the ball on him. Tampa was running
the ball very effectively. Uh, Bucky Irving had fifteen carries.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Nice when he was at uh oh yeah, I was like, man,
who's this rid of me? I had him on my
fantasy team this year.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
I was like, yeah, I felt like he was. I
felt like it was a four man race for Rookie
of the Year's him, Brock Bowers, Bonix and Jaydon Daniels
and quarterbacks probably gonna win it because he's a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
But you know, Bucky, Bucky had a nice seat. Muggy
Buggy has been bothering.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yeah, but you had you had Bucky went for fifteen
carries for one hundred and seventeen that's seven point eight
to carry. You had were set White man, hey, and
that charge defense is it's not a bad defense, that's.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
A good defense, very good defense.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Sean White came in, did fifteen carries sixty four yards.
As for free you carry, Baker took off twice for
twenty five yards.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
They were just running buck wild.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
And then Mike Evans caught nine passes for one hundred
and fifty nine yards as well. It's like the Chargers
defense was sleeping in that game.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yeah, because I mean it's a good defense. Yeah, and
I don't know what to tell you, but they were
just they only got one sack all day. You had
Khalil Mack, Bud Dupree, Joey.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Bosa all out there.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
You got one sackle on the day and it came
from Troy I who is that uh safety? Yeah, he's uh,
he's a linebacker. Line Yeah, he's a linebacker, but he's
not you know, I mean, it's not their dude, you know, I.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Mean I wonder.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
I mean, guys, you know, I'm expecting to be Derwin
James or somebody.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Yeah, it's a tough schedule. I think I'm hoping the
Broncos can pull us off. I'd love to cover some
playoff football.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
I haven't had the opportunity to do that yet, So
I would love to cover selfishly some playoff football.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
But this is a tough schedule.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
And you know, I don't want to start rejoicing until
the cat's in the bag, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Like, there's there's a lot of people. Man, I'm not
trying to be a wet blanket.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Sounds like, Man, it it feels like doesn't feel like it.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Man, you can beat Neutral. I am neutral. You gotta
win one of three. You gotta win one of three. Hell,
I hope they beat the Bengals. I don't think they
run it up. We don't worry about the Bengals. Yet
that's his team. Oh that's best stuff.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
He's like, there's a way, there's a way the Bengals
can still make the playoffs. Hit the Broncos beat the
Chargers and then they lose the Bengals and they you know, like,
so there's a way.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
The Bengals can still make the playoffs. I hope they
beat the things. I mean I do too, but you know,
I mean, Grant's right here. That's how I got.
Speaker 5 (09:07):
All we need is the Broncos to win against the
Chargers and then the Bengals to beat the Broncos their
last two games.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Now we talked crazy. That's the best of both worlds.
He sold me out. Why do they need to be
in because they're my team. That's he grew up in
Ohio and it's his team. Joe Burrows from my hometown. Hey,
Joe Burrow's got to go down. He could even last
this time last year.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
He might be a little busy right now, trying to
fill out the police report figuring out if his other
girlfriend was at the house or whatever that was not.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Yeah, it was just the whole situation, you see that. No,
I didn't.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
His house got broke into while they were on the
road for the the Monday night game or whatever. And
the person that called in the police report wasn't his
girlfriend with some other girls.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
It wasn't his fiance, It wasn't his It was and model,
some model it was staying there.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Oh my goodness, this happened to be in his house.
The life of a q B.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
I'm just saying, man, I hate the playoffs, hate the game,
but it's you know, yeah, you.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Know what, Grant. I hope you. I hope you're trimming
up the stash and you slip and yeah, you having
to take that thing off. I don't even know how
i'd be without this thing. Oh man, that's part of
your identity. That's part of who I am now extry.
I'm not. It's not that I'm a wet blanket.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
It's that I've seen it with other fan bases and
other situations and other scenarios. The people counting their chickens
before they hatch.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
And then you know, and then you get in that
death spiral, you know what I mean. And I'm like,
I'm celebrating. Tell where he in? Okay, okay, so now
you are fanning.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
The last time he said he didn't really have a fan.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
I want to cover Play's selfish. I want to cover
playoff for this is all self sir.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Okay, okay, all right, I'm just saying, hey, me too, man,
five years around on the Broncos game games.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
It's about time we get back. Yeah, there we go.
I like, mouse, we you're a Bingos fan. I started
covering this team. I started covering this team the year
after Super Bowl fifty.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Oh yeah, yeah, I'm tired of being the Jakes.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Like people out there, you know. So I'm like, I'm like,
all right, you know. Uh And to which the Texter
gets to the point that I was gonna make the
four all four two thousand and nine, ring a bell.
We needed one win and they lost four in a row.
Oh and That's what I'm getting at.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Who's head coasting? Was it?
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Two thousand and I was at Josh exactly, Josh mccar
not gonna work here anymore anyway, exactly.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
So Josh mc probably we're in a very different situation.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
And then you needed one win and you lost four
and row and so that that's what I'm saying. The
stranger imagine, I'm not sitting here celebrating we're.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
In and the team they should do it the same way. Hey,
we're not taking anything for granted. All right, we got
to go ahead and take her a business this week now.
We don't want to wait until the next week or
the next week a guess you know, uh, the Mingos
or the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
We want to get it done this week. Yeah, you don't.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Don't leave it up to chance, get it, get it
handled now and then you don't have to worry about it.
How do you think the short will we will affect
the team. That's what I worried about, because this team
hasn't shown the ability to run a ball. And if
you go to play short week, you got to be
effective running a football short week, especially going on the road.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
You're not gonna get any practice in. You're gonna have
one day a film review and then.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
You got you gotta travel day, and what you're we have.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
A jog around or something. You know, you don't get
cycle of script from you know, from one of the
games the season. You're gonna recycle the script and then
walk through.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
You gotta walk through, and it's it and so like
you can't.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Practice, you're on the road.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Uh, it's a physical football team who's coming off a loss.
They probably didn't expect it, probably gonna be pissed off.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
And you know, you you.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
You've got your banged up in your secondary because Riley Moss,
who's gonna gonna be out because of the knee. You got
Patzertan who theoretically, theoretically they say back, but he's playing
on a slightly sprained ankle.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
That's you know, that's tough. It was a it was
a play where he got the interception where he got hurt,
right yeah, and then because he had the player came
up and hit him. He should have got up. That
was the problems he got up. He should have got up.
She had was you think it was dirty playing? I
think it was dirty.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
I like to hit because man, my guy, but like
you know, that wasn't dirty that Kdewe wasn't intending to
gisure his ankle.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
He was going he was going low though, why would
you go to get the ball because he was on
the ground.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Come on, he's getting back up.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
You're trying to get the ball, Like I understand what.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
What the defender done to to Pastor ten?
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Yeah, I mean I would have been on a field
with Pastor tax is way better than me, but uh yes,
I would have tried to get the ball there. I
mean the Colts at that point, you had to get
the ball back. Your season's down to drain. You know,
he wasn't trying to get the ball. He had the
ball in his hands.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Player, I know he's talking about but past Ten had
the ball in his hands and he was giving up.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
He wasn't down at low. Why would he get him
in his ankles, in his knees to read his mind
or something.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Let me pull my professor Charles Xavier out here for
a minute now.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Yeah, man, let me know what. I'm stifter Richards who pops,
looks left, throws.
Speaker 6 (14:09):
The pass that is going to be intercepted at the
thirty eight yard line. This ball picked off and that
is Pastor Tan who gets up and then takes a
vicious body block.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
To knock him down. Why get the twenty yard line?
Remember they're holding at all offense penalty has declined. There's
also going to play if an interfective pass first bound Denver.
Speaker 6 (14:29):
That is Pastor Tan's fourth interception of the season. And
that was a throw that I'm sure Shane Steich and
the head coach of the Colts is scratching his head
over because that ball went right to Cirtan.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Yeah, it was not particular ghost.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
But to get back to the point here, you got
to you got a defense that's got a few cracks
in it right now because of the secondary. This is
the same defense. By the way, Sir Tan went out
early in the last Chargers game. That was the game
he got hurt, and he went out right in that game. Yeah,
remember you got him Ryan mosses out. You got certain
who they say there's going I won how close to
one hundred percent he actually is? And then you've you know,
(15:05):
this is a I'm not gonna say it's a must
win game, but you you probably need to win this
one just.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
For tiebreakers sakes.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
You don't want to be that last seed and have
to go to Buffalo in the opening round of the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
So there's a lot riding on this. There's a lot.
There's a lot riding on this for Denver and I
for me, I just get a little worried.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
You got a short week, no practice, and the run
game is not where you want it to be. And
that that's the part that scares me, because the next
week you got to probably be in a shootout with Cincinnati,
and I don't know that we're I don't know that
we're equipped to win that one. And now I do
believe will be Kansas City at the end of the year,
because I think they got a lot of hurt feelings
since that field goal.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
I believe it will be Kansas City in the final week.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
But this game is a question mark for me, and
the Cincinnati game is a double question mark for me.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
So I'm I'm.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
A little nervous, maybe, Steve, I need you little.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Nerves and a little negative And I'm not even what
I'm saying. I need my nerves calmed. I would like
to be positive, I would like to be celebrating. I
want to win. I'm just a little nervous that run
game is now where it needs to be.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
Yeah, yeah, And do you think we've gotten away from
the run game too early or do you feel like
it just wasn't working and we had to get away
from it.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
I think we don't aren't patient enough with it.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
I think we run in obvious run situations, and then
we aren't patient enough when it doesn't break out.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
You know.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
I think there's some I think there's some issues with
Yvonte not seeing the cutback lane sometimes. I think the
offensive line doesn't get as much push in the run
game as you'd like an offensive line that's that highly
paid to get. I don't think it's any one thing,
but I think the main thing to me is we
don't stick with it.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
I mean, bo Nick's had the most attempts. Oh hit
eight attempts any rushing attempts, Yeah, wow, you know, I mean,
and that led all running backs. The next high as
was seven.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
So I you know, to me, it doesn't feel like
we do enough sticking with it, you know, in those kinds, because.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
It has worked before.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
It certainly worked when we were trying to chew the
clock down against Kansas City. Now we're going off for
that field goal, and we stuck with it and we
ran with purpose. So I for me, those are just
some things I want to say we can get into
that here. To man, we gotta get a break, but
I need to nerves. Callst so during the break Broncos Country. Right,
we'll be back right after this, good.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Pool Drant Smith. Hey guys, the Heart Radio app is
about to get even better.
Speaker 1 (17:33):

six sixty nine zero is the text line.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
I got a lot of a lot of texts in here,
A lot of people. Uh, says Bronco's country doesn't deserve
this coverage. You're right, I'm too good for you.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
One, and I don't mistake nervousness for a wet blanket.
A free giant Lucky plays just to beat the Browns
and Colts, Robin Brush says, Hey, Ben and Steve, I
grew Ben. We have to win that one game first. However,
it's a short week for the Chargers as well. I
remember two thousand and nine how devastating that was, having
(18:22):
said that Broncos.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Need to man up get that win on Thursday. Go Roncos. Yeah,
there we go. So there you go.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Somebody said, there's no waves going for the ball. It
was being carried waist high.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Receiver hit him low. Must see here, oh, Grant.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
People need recommendations for what to do in Cincinnati. So
I think what we're gonna do is after the Chargers game,
either that Friday or probably that next Monday, we're gonna
do a segment. It'll be travel Guide Grant, and Grant
will tell everyone who's exactly Cinnati exactly.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
What to do in Cincinnati. I have one suggestion already.
Speaker 5 (18:55):
Yes, get some Skyline Joe God, some Skyline chili. Put
on your hot dogs, put it on your spaghetti. Throw
a little hot sauce on there. Delicious, especially if you
go out and drink.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Oh that's not a good combination. It is a great combination.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Itself was not a good combination. We'll we'll explain that.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
She didn't know what that is.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
But yeah, yeah, actually an alcohol. I don't know if
it's really chilly, but that's what it's like. Sugar eat
it's like hot dog sauce.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Yeah, it's not the same.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
It's delicious and the best hangover cure you can ever find.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
Oh there we go, all right, calling out Ben for
being a wet blanket has giving me life. Hey there
we go, we got one supporter there. Prophet says, listen
to the Hall of Famer. Great teams find ways to win.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
Facts just saying we're going one for Since Ryan Edwards
does not want to hear anything that's not all sunshine
and roses, I do want to say I have a
little bit concern about just how tough our schedule is
the rest of the way and how easy the schedule
is for all the.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
Teams chasing us.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
I'm aware of a scenario that's not really totally unrealistic
that we still don't don't make it. We just need
to win Thursday and be done with this. And that's
that's really where I'm at with it. That's really where
I'm at with it. As much as I say all
this and it makes it seem like I'm every games
that must win, I'm just like, dude, let's get let's
handle business, and then then the rest of it's, you know, gravy.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
And that's what I'm saying. And I'm a little concerned about.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
The Cincinnati game, you know, And so that's that's the
that's the leg paid I think of my nervousness is
I'm concerned about that Cincinnati game. Uh, They're a team
that's fighting for it. They've got stuff to fight for.
They have an offense that is incredible. Well right, I'm
not saying we don't, but I'm just saying, like all
these other teams have gimme games.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
You look at the the Coult for.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Instance, their schedule was is a joke for the rest
of the season. They get the Titans, who are playing
Mason Rudolph that they're at the New York Giants, but
I think you're playing Tim Boyle. Uh, and you got
the Jaguars with Mac Jones. I mean, their schedule is
a joke the.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Rest of the way.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
And you look at some of these other teams, it's
like that the Broncos have a very very tough schedule.
You know, you get the Chargers or a good football team,
you get the Pingles who are better in the record,
and you.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Got in Kansas City at the end of the season.
So for me, it's not it's.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Not me in a wet blanket, it's me realistically looking
at the schedule and saying, you know, there's a scenario
here where we messed this up. Let's don't mess this up.
And so that that's what I'm trying to get at.
I don't want to celebrate.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
There's no way that we could win one and we
do not make it right correct one you're in. So
that that's the thing.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
I just don't want to be Jonathan Taylor and drop
the ball before we hit the end zone, you know
what I mean.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
I don't want to start celebrating.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
And I'm sure that the team is focused on that
as well. They're focused on this one game. We're not
looking forward, they're not looking past. The team's not the Chargers.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
And I think it's funny because we took the advantage
away from Cincinnati. Initially, the Broncos were scheduled to play
and the Bengals, we're gonna get that Thursday night football
game and they were gonna have the extra time to
prep for us, and then the Broncos if they want
to flex it, And the Broncos could have said no,
but they looked at that schedule that you know what,
we can screw Cincinnati out of the extra time.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
We get the extra time, and there we go.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
And then of course today was officially announced something we've
been talking about in this program for a while now.
But the Bronco game moved to Saturday, so Cincinnati's gonna.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Be on Union Evening for a week.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Yeah, we get to to facto, you know, mini bi
for all that. So you know, the Broncos playing a
little uh, the Broncos playing a little chicanery there and
then getting away a bit, I mean, the.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
Teams and the deciding if they could do it or not,
only if you've already done it.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
And the Broncos have already been on the road for
a Thursday night football game.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Who went to New Orleans?
Speaker 1 (22:29):
So this is the first time since nineteen twenty three
that a team has gone on the road twice on a.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Short week game like that.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Okay, so that's another thing that in fact just saying,
you know, it's almost like I do this for a
living or something.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
By six six night Zeros of text Line Ben we.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Blanke at the chili too, guys, if you've had Skyline
chili or you know that.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
I'm not wrong on that one matter of fact. Seven
to two.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Oh never mind, Grant's taste and recommendations are now very suspect.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Is it better in your mouth? It's better?
Speaker 1 (22:58):
The best way to east Skyline Chili is take the
plate and scrape it directly in the trash and then
just go get something else.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
That's the best way to take the way of life
in Ohio. Hurt you taste, buzzs does hurt your stomach.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Stomach, it hurts your stomach, your taste does, and your
mind as you understand what it is that you're consuming
on the way down. There's more calories in Skyline Chili
than there isn't a KFC double down.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Dang, I guess you won't be doing any advertisements for this.
So much sugar and salt.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
It's like so much I understand.
Speaker 5 (23:30):
I understand why people like to hate on it, but
it is delicious.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
So you've probably had that as a kid coming up.
You have great memories of it.
Speaker 5 (23:36):
Oh man, I eat it when I lived in Cincinnati
for a couple of years.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
I'd eat it once or twice a week. It's like
a it's like a cultural thing. How much weight did
you game while you're up there? Didn't you put on
some weight fifteen? Well, that's what happens when you eat
Skyline Chili two times a week.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
I'm telling you, it's horrible for you. So let's yeah, Nick,
Nick Ferguson.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
I could just see the expression on his face, so
dis like, this is the this is the amount of carbs.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
I eat in a year. Oh my goodness. Oh but
I look, I want to be optimistic. I just we're
coming into the here. You can do it. I can be.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
But then I also look at this. Here's here's here's
what I have going for you. It's it's a battle
of the mind versus the mind. Right, I got the
devil on the one shoulder and I got the handsomer
devil on the other shoulder, because I don't have any angels. Right,
So for me, I look at there's a couple of
things here. It's the last two weeks. We got by
with some lucky stuff, you know, three defensive touchdowns like
running back, dropping the ball before the end zone.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
The defensive scoring. Why is that? Look, because that's not
we got to play movie. Because you can't count on that.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Yeah, I could count on the defense, be good, count
on them put a free touchdowns in two weeks.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
You can't count on it. But you count them playing
playing well.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
And honestly, that's what's keeping me from going into a spiral,
is the fact that we have a great and.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
Some some teams are able to go deep with a
defense that plays well and maybe.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
It plans go Bears. We saw it with the Multimore Ravens.
We saw it with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We've seen that.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Yeah, what comes down to, I'm telling at the end
of the day, is who can make the most plays. Now,
our office may be okay, but if they're not playing
well in our defense is playing lights.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Out, guess what we'll take that.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Our offenses on fire and our defense isn't plans so well.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Hey, and we get to win, I'll take that too.
I'll take the win anyway it comes.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
I'm just saying, like, here's here's the nervous column leading
up to that, right is we got two games where
we got to kind of hats the ball just incredibly
bounce in our way. We're struggling to run the football
in a part of the season where you need to
be running the football right, And all of a sudden,
a rookie quarterback who had a great stretch over the
middle of the season is throwing interceptions just what five
(25:46):
in the last two games. Yeah, all of a sudden,
he's throwing interceptions the guy who's very careful with the ball,
doesn't make mistakes, doesn't take negative plays. I'm hoping those
are just a one offu little blip on the radar.
But that's the nervous column. In the pro column, we
got a great defenses, make place when the offense did
the score and they're putting up points. We got special
teams that's playing real well, making place.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
The receivers are I think are playing better. I know,
uh court and and bow knicks. They're on They're on
the same page.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
They seem to have a synergy.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Although this pass game, they threw the ball to him
nine times, they would caught three of them, and one
of them was a pretty brutal drop that would have
been a would have been a first down.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
So you know, for me, like there's there's there are positives.
I'm not sitting here saying, but I'm I'm I'm a
little sweating a little bit under the lights.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Right now because I'm like, man, this is the wrong
time of the season for some of the off of
bye week, for some of these problems to be coming.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Up, and that that's what makes me cold, to be honest,
that has to be expected off of Bwig.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
No, I think off a byeway. You come off tight,
right like you could you come out you come off.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Every game you come out No, But I mean you've
been You had two weeks to prepare for aid Man.
You didn't prepare two weeks a week you were yet
a week off. The coaches weren't off for to you
know that. I'm just in The coaches were sitting there like, Okay,
we got a game plan for this, yeah, and it
first had But the coaches don't run the game plan, well,
they don't execute it.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
They don't execute it.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Coaches are the generals, right, the general's drawing up the
game plan, the sergeants out there executing right.
Speaker 4 (27:14):
It was.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
It worried me a little bit.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
You had two weeks and that's what you came up
with for Indy. You knew what their defense was. They
suck against the run, and we still couldn't run the ball.
You knew what their offense was, We couldn't stop.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
We've asked ruggles running ball most of the year though.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Maybe that's a problem though, like why we're going this
laid into it? You had two weeks to solve that
problem against the team that's thirty first in the NFL
against the run.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
But you can't stop with they that easily.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Man, if you if you hadn't been able to run
run the ball throughout most of most of the year,
you're not going to all of a sudden because you
have a bye week meaning to say, oh, this is
what we've been doing wrong. Now we can, but now
we don't be good.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Well, then you're saying we run one hundred and fifty
personnel or is it just you know at that point
you just have to start asking those questions. And while
we're asking those questions, we'll pittch it to day o' brian.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
It's right six times.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
There's a tax Linebrocose country that I've been with allbrights
Hall of Famers. See that water hire. Steve's drying out
the blanket for me, through it the dryer the break man, like, well,
we gotta get rid of that stuff. A lot of
good questions coming in here on the tax lines. Who
went for why can we run the clock against Kansas City?
But we can't seem to do it now?
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Yeah, Hey, some games you can run the ball and
run the clock down.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
Some games you can When when when when? When the
defense is getting.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
Penetrations in the backfield, and you know we're having off
size penalties.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Hey, it'll be a long day.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
The eight oh one says, does any of the running
game struggle due to stacked boxes because of a rookie
at quarterback?
Speaker 2 (28:51):
I don't think so, not at this point. Yeah no,
I mean you can go look the eight twenty two
and see that's not the case.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
The nine seven oh says, See, that's how a person
who has played pull at a high level speaks to
a person of the shire.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
They just called me a hobbit. Oh that's a mess.
You know what.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
I'm taking the ring to Mortor myself. Then you take
you what I said, I'll take the ring to Mortor.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
That's what the hobbit, don't you know? So sorry, I'm
trying to play into their thing here.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Okay, I'm just saying there's a joke in here about
me being the only one holding the ring at that point.
But Steve got a ring, so I can't really do that.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
You call them my ring? Yeah, I'm good, is gonna
be jeous.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
I think it's huge, By the way, do you wear it?
Speaker 2 (29:31):
That think's huge? Ridiculous on my on my hands? Oh, yeah,
maybe on your hands looks ridiculous. So wearing brass knuckles.
They tell you, my kids used to ask me to like, yeah,
like we're doing. They smiling, they run around with the
big old yeah. I look.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
I mean, I'm hoping we pull this thing out. Short
weeks got me all nervous, but I hoping we pull
this thing out. If we do, man, I'm gonna be
overjoyed because it's really then you've cut options the last
couple of weeks. You can start to rest guys, get
guys healthy for a playoff push. And oh, by the way,
you're in position at that point you beat the Chargers
because now you get the tie breaker on the Chargers
and Colts, you're in position to have the sixth seed
(30:14):
or better at that point, which means you're probably going
to Pittsburgh for the opening rounds. And man, I can
tell you both everybody involved is look at the chops
on that the NFL. Sean Peyton's licking his broncles, fans,
everybody that got denied that match up early in the year.
You couldn't have better theater. Bronco's going to Pittsburgh to
(30:37):
take on Russell Wilson.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
Hurt.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
So it's you know, to me, I am absolutely hoping
that that's the way that plays out, because I do
want to seem speaking, I want to see Russ and
Sean get their chance at each other.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
I want to see I want to see those.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Two get their shot at each other for whoever wins,
obviously because I'm here on the rude for the Broncos,
but in that I want to see that play out
on the field, because why do.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
You say, how do you say Russ against Sean?
Speaker 1 (31:09):
Because if there are two guys around the lead to
hate each other more than those two, I don't know
who they are.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
I mean, we know behind the scenes. I mean, like
you know at this point, come on, I hate each other.
That's that's seat.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
Those are strong words. Strong, Hey, I use the right
word to hate each other. And they both got And
to be fair, I think they're both justified. You know,
at the end of the day, I like, I don't
know if justified, but Russ is justified in the way
that that went down. Sean Payton didn't want him the
whole the whole way through. They're both in better positions now.
I'm happy for both of them that they're both succeeding
(31:43):
now with their guys. But man, you can't write better
theater than that, You can't script a better story than that.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
Yeah, and I think just everybody on the outside, the
fans want to see it.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
Like Russell Wilson, he came here, everybody was so high
on what he was going to get done, and it
just it just didn't wordn't work.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
First year was coaching in competence, second year was coached
in wanting. You know, he was hurt coaching in competence.
And then you got Sean Page just you know, moving away.
I think they're all better off for it. I don't
know Flastic six, side zero, the text of license. I
can't believe Ben's talking about the size of his hands
on the air when you know what they say about
guys A big hands, they were, they were big gloves.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
I appreciate you. I appreciate you. By we got to
hit a break. We'll touch that. We'll be back after
this
