Speaker 1 (00:00):
You guys want to get involved in the conversation.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Tomorrow night, Nick and I are gonna be down the
mile Post zero six to eight p for the ORGS
Blue Watch Party presented by Don Julio. Come on out,
hang out with us, watch the game in autograph football
to give away as well.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
So look forward to seeing you guys down there at
the mile Post zero McGregor Square.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Tomorrow night, six to eight watch the Broncos take on
the Chargers.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Nick, how you doing, Budd, he's been a minute. I'm
good man. How are you doing. I'm doing well.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Broncos beat the Colts in by a wide margin of
thirty one thirteen, but it didn't feel like the game
was was ever thirty one to thirteen at any point.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
As a matter of fact, by the time that thing
got into the third.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Quarter, Broncos fans were starting to sweat a little bit,
especially when Taylor took off. If he had dropped that
ball going over the end zoll that that game might
have had a might have had a different outcome.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
You are one percent correct, because you could feel the
temperature of the fan base as they they were getting
eerily irritated.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
I happened to be standing in the stands.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Next to two fans and we were just talking about
about the game, and they were giving me their input
on what they've said. They were watching from the game
on Sunday, but overall from a seasonal standpoint. And as
we're talking and we're gonna take we were trying to
take this photo and all of a sudden, John Taylor

(01:25):
breaks up to the right side.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
We stopped made conversation to watch.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Him run and when he cross or appeared to have
crossed the goal line, the air went out of the
power feel. It was just like this deep gasp and
then all of a sudden, there was this review and
then all of a sudden, it was like, oh, well
he dropped the ball to the Broncos. Get the ball
back at the twenty. Everything changed and everyone was really

(01:50):
excited and everyone was hype, but at that particular moment.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
It seemed like all was lost.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
There was a pretty wide pendulum swing in the span
of about two minutes there.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
As you know, there was excitement coming out at the half, and.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Then all of a sudden, the culture just basically marched
it down a field and you're like, and then Taylor
takes off and busts that run and the air went
out of the stadium and then it turned right back
around after the you know, the fumble call, and then
it was on and and you know, momentum, I guess
is a real thing, because in that moment, yeah, it certainly,
it certainly felt like a one hundred and eighty degree

(02:22):
pivot going back to the other direction. All of a sudden,
the Broncos had all the momentum and there you.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Go, and it was it's so fascinating to go back.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I went back and watching eight twenty two again today,
and as you're watching this game, it really is a
game of inches. If Nick Benito had flowed with the
play on that instead of staying home and then coming
back and picking that you know, lateral I guess it's
a lateral six or whatever, but picks it.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
It's a pick six, yes, whatever.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
But if he if he had not stayed home, if
he had flowed with the play, there was nothing but
daylight and three blockers in front of Anthony Richardson on
that throwback.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
You know, that play within the.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Self says a lot about the growth and maturity of
one Nick Benito, because when Nick Minho first arrived with
the Denver Broncos. It was just like, Okay, he was
just a pass rusher. He was just projected as being
maybe a third down guy with the potential to work
himself into being an every down guy. And that is
something that came to fruition because if you put those

(03:21):
back to back plays together, the play against the Colts
that we're talking about and the week before against the
Cleveland Browns, it would definitely.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Show you the growth.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
And what I mean by that is that fans, if
you have the game recorded, go back and watch both
of those games. And what Benito did was something that's
very difficult for guys who played on the second level
of the defense linebackers, even nickelbacks right dbs to do

(03:53):
to actually expand your vision and see the whole damn
play in Cleveland game, he passed up one receiver, another
receiver stepped right into the window like he was a dB.
And the play you're describing against the Colts, you saw
PS two scream off the side, off the right side
because it was like a corner blitz and the play was.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Set up perfectly by Shane Psyche.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
It was as if Richardson catches that ball once again,
the air is deflated out of in palifolia.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Over here, it was a convoy and nothing but blank
space in front.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
There was one defender over there behind Benito, and free
blockers gone yes.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
And what Benito did was he looked see where the play,
where the action was, and they reacted to where the
play was. And it's almost like this. He was a
basketball term. He was like an off ball defender right
and he was saying things set up away from him
and realized with awareness, which is very difficult for and

(04:58):
rushers and defensive players were trying to get into action
to make it play rarely use, and Tanner's went up,
ears perked up. He said, well, there's something wrong here.
Why is Richardson standing right here? And it's two to
three offensive lineman right here as well. Let me get
my behind outside and he started to move outside.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
He kept his eyes on the receiver and then he said, whoop,
step right into the throat.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
And he's like Richardson didn't even know he was there,
didn't know.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
He was there.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
But this is where the growth of Nick Benito and
the defense has become. And I know you're listening, Ryan Edwards.
You're driving home in your car. I got something for
you once again though.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
That that dynamic team.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Those guys say it with me, Ryan, while you're sitting
in your car.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Mcguiver shows up again and saves the day for the
Denver Broncos. Mcgiver is an American hero. Yes he is
mullet and ull and none of that new mcgiver, original mcgiver.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
That's that stupid, Yeah, I mean, and that was it was.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
It was one of the game of interest because he had.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
The couple inches where Jonathan Taylor didn't hang on the
ball a couple of inches and Nick Benito doesn't get there,
and it really is it really is a game of
interest because those two plays I think were the biggest
two plays in that game. And man, that throwback was
the right play call at the right time. It just
was not quite executed because it could have been ugly.
That could have been That could have been huge for
the Colts if they had executed that thing.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Well, yeah, it could have been.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
But once again, timing is everything, and this Broncos.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Defense has shown up time and.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Time again because Benito making the play in the Colts
game shifted the momentum, got the crowd back into it.
Making that play against Cleveland it did the same thing.
So it's about impact players making impact type of plays,
and Nick Benito is still.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
One of those guys. I was talking to one of my.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Former teammates today and the question came up as far
as defensive MVP. When I say, well, Benito is doing
so much right now, he should be considered to be
a defensive MVP.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
And they were like, whoa, whoa, nig o. Well, you're
pushing it.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
You're pushing You're pushing the apple cart too far down
the street. I'm like, well, tell me, why, tell me
why not that Nick Benito should not be considered to
be the defensive.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
MVP of the league. And it's this teammate that issue
with me saying that I took a ticket out on
it a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Plus he did plus ten thousand years now plus six
hundred because because he's third favorite among the betters to
to win, behind Pats are Tan and TJ Watt. TJ
Watt he's tied with the sack toe Lid, by the way,
but he said, what is injury grone, Both of them
are injured. I mean Pat, Pat's gonna give it a
go here against the Charger, but both of them are
dinged up. So Nick Nick Benito stands the shit, and

(07:43):
I know, because his name is Nick, you have.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
To root for him.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
It's it's like the fraternity of Nick's like you know,
it's just like it's like me with you know, like
with you know, with Ben Stiller and all that kind
of stuff.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Ben Affleck. We loosely let him hang around, but you know,
it's we.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Have to root for all events, right, So obviously, but
in this case, I'm crossing the ale and I'm rooting
for a.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Nick because I have a ticket on it and I
would like that ticket to cash. Hey man, just in
a Nike of time. There you go.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
See I've heard you know, I've been better.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Yes, I thought you were going to be the person
that throws that out there.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
I can't believe I beat you to that.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
The puns. Yes that I was trying to lay off
the puns for one day and see what happens that
It's not working out for me too too. Well, a
lot of stuff going on last night we talked about
on this show before the report broke via The Athletic
that the Denver Nuggets are out there looking for another scorer.
And are potentially considered trading, you know, Michael Porter Junior
for Zach Levine.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Somebody texted me during the show. Yes you're applauding this one.
I'm applauding it.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Okay, you you don't like the idea of the concept.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
I like the idea of the concept. I'm not sure.
I'm not sure that's not trading six for a half dozen.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
At this point, Zachal means a slash slash and rim rocker,
you know, or a two man game.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Guy.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
If you're moving anybody in that center, to me, you
move Jamal Murray and Dario Sariz and not Michael Porter Junior.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
And Michael Porter j I think a movable piece.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
But to me, if you're moving Porter Junior, that means
you're moving Brown to the bench and you're putting Strawther
in at the three in the starting lineup.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
And to me, I would.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Rather move Murray and Sorrich, move Westbrook into the starting
lineup and have a little bit more death because strawther
gives you versatility of two positions.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
All right, So.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
If you can hold on to Jamal, I say hold
on to one. But if there are other multiple scores
that you can get for Jamal and that being a
guy on the second unit and someone operating in the
first unit, I say do that. But if that opportunity
is not presenting itself, if you can move MPJ for

(09:52):
Zach Levine, I'm all for because I feel as though.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Lytic b MPJ and Sarich and probably a draft pick. Okay, fine, Okay,
this think about what you get at Levin. Levine is very.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Active, he has he has a ninth. He is a
better he's a two. He's a two more than he
is a three.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Though you're trading a three for a two, which means
you're going to You're gonna move Braun to the bench
and boof straw thread at the starting line.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Okay, fine, I had to catch and shoot guy at
the three.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
Yeah, but you and I have always talked about Broun
being better off away.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
I didn't agree with those moves, But for me.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
I'm like, okay, if I have if I'm looking at
this team, I would rather have Westbrook run the point
for this team than Murray anyway. Okay, because the new
two man game is gonna be Yo Kitchen Levine and
not Yo Kitchen Murray.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Well, I mean Okay.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
So with the first scenario you presented, the Broncos not
the Broncos, but the Nuggets are acquiring Zach Levine, but
they're not getting rid of Jamal Murray.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
In the first scenario we talked about, which was what
was texted to me, it was Porter Junior and Sarich
and I think he's second round draft pick for Zach Levine.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
Okay, but I would be in favor of that lineup.
You got to it's.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
Murray, Levin, Gordon Murray, Levine, Strawther, Gordon Jokich as your starters,
and then off the bench you have Peyton Watson, Christian
Braun and Russ Westbrook.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Are you big three coming off the branch.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
I like it. I'll take it because once again, Lavigne
gives you more defense than Porter gives you.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
And I know Porter has improved his scoring.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
Which makes him the ideal guy to move because you said,
well he's definitely improved. Right, He's a young guy, and
you get some veteran capitol and this would be a
move where I see that Coach Malone gets his guy,
because I know Coach Malone wants more veteran experienced guys. Yes,
opposed to booth who wants more younger guys at depth?

Speaker 1 (11:52):
And here's the thing. I go back to this.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Do you remember twenty sixteen NBA All Star Dug Contest.
There were two people who were in the finals. One
of those guys got robbed, even though he was one
of the best done contests we've seen in the past
couple of years.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
It was Aaron Gorn Zach Levine. Oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
To reunite those two guys together in the Denver uniform
with Nikola Yokis.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
All keep me that Nick says called it Peaches and
her because it's reunited and feels Will you talk about
rare air up there?

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (12:27):
Do you want to put mile high in the Male
High City? Those two guys would definitely do it. How
about that.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
I think they need to make a move.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
I'm not sure what that move is again, Porters Junior.
I think he kind of is what he is. I
think he's topped out as a player. I think what
he does is basically what he the best. He's going
to be a spot up shooter and get you some boards.
And that's really kind of about it. I mean, but
I feel like you need one of those with Jokic
in there. I think he's at his best when he's
able to go to the you know, use his vision
and then kick that back out for the open three.

(12:58):
When those guys happen to be opening the defense collapse.
Is that said Levine not much, not really the outside shoot,
more of a more of a slash, slash and.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Score kind of guy.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Well, but I mean, and I'm not against it. I
want Levine. I just the way that you're constructing this
team going forward. Do you want it Jemurry or do
you want Jamal or would you rather have Jamal or
Michael Porter Junior in that in that setup? Because I'm
gonna be honest with you, I think we can move
on for both of them and figure out especially to
get Levine.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Ideally, if you could move on for both Porter and Murray, Okay,
sign me up for it.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Chances are you might not. But if you can move
sorry and.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
Some future draft picks and MPJ for Zach Levine, I'll
take it because the team becomes that much more athletic.
You got one of the better big men in the
game and also one of the better big men passers
at the five position. Dude man, the whole entire flour

(13:59):
would be open. We used to see seeing those back
door cuts by Aaron Gordon. And maybe there's an Ali
from Nicolo Jokis man. Ali will be coming from every
single where. And I remember back in the day a
couple of years ago the La Clippers with DeAndre Jordan,
they used to be called Lob City.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Lob City would now become you know, Mile high City.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Yes, come on, man, if you do move Murray Russell
Westbrook is uh agent, Uh, You're gonna have to find
If you do do that, you have to find another
point guard to back up Westbrook or a platoon with him.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Charlota would become that guy. Strala becomes a three. He's
not pointing, you can't play the point. Well, you can
push him into that.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
Once.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
He's a small forward. He's a spot shooter. He's not
a he's not a facilitator. You need you need somebody
who can facilitate the ball at tempoint.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Well, well, your guy who's a facilitator is a sinner
just behind.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
But guy's a bodyguard.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
You need somebody who could do that and do the
two man. Git Russ Westbrook can do that, right. The
only other person I could think of that would be
a perfect fit. I don't know if he'd be available.
Is another really aging point guard, Chris Paul.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
M You know, I think, well that is very intriguing
because that's his game, is that two man game right
there at the top of the key. Yeah, but I
wouldn't go in that direction because a year old point guard.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Yeah, his game has definitely fallen off.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
He's better suited for Greg Papovich and what they're doing
in San Antonio.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
So he had he would be a platoon with him
in Westbrook at the point if you do something like that,
and I'm not sure how you would get him at
this point, it would be a one year deal.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
He's thirty nine years old. But no, he's playing all right,
He's getting twenty eight she said.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Though you see all right, see you say all right
when you high five.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
And see he's a point guard shooting fifty six percent
from the field. I'm gonna get in twenty eight minutes
a game. Okay. So so think about this.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Okay, you got a thirty nine year old point guard
and the biggest issue for the two big issues for
coach me, he ain't playing defense right and getting up
and down the floor, especially at home. Thirty nine year
old point guard CP three. At this point, Nah, I
can't see it.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Sam, What do you want to say about Westbrook?

Speaker 3 (16:12):
Give me that guy who's just just really active, god
like a like a kid in a candy store.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
He won't sugar, but he's he's about the same age.
I mean, Westbrook's what thirty six thirty seven.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
Shorter, but that's not the same. They have that thirty
something range. But one guy pushes the pace better than
the other. And here in dinner, you want someone who's
gonna constantly push the pace, get the team out in
open space, create spots for guys to knock down shots.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
CP three still does, and he plays little defense anyway,
a red defense.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
I'm trying to think of who fits the mold in
terms of if you're gonna do this, if we are
going to turn this thing over. But the problem with
that is is that then you have a thirty six
and a thirty nine year old point guard and nothing
behind him in the pipeline.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
But that's why, that's why it doesn't make sense to me, right,
that's why it doesn't make sense.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
It once again, the biggest, biggest bet for me, if
you can do it, move sorry and MPJ for Levigne,
that's a better fit, right, And it sets you up
to a lot of those guys, those young guys on
the second unit to now build and hold on. And
then also you can mix and match those guys that
are starting five rotation with some of the young guys

(17:24):
when Nikola Yoki take a seat, because we know this
it's been the same for the past but three or
four years.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Anytime Nicola sits.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
Down, if you if the Nuggets have it largely, most
likely the other team is cut into it.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Yeah, it's evaporating guy, Yes, So that that's the thing
is like, if we are going to do this, then
then you got to factor it.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Okay, how are we going to do this?

Speaker 2 (17:42):
How are we going to get you know, if we
get Levine and you're okay, you gave up, sorry, so
you're not really using and and Porter who you know? Okay,
so you know there in the lineup nothing, Well all
you might be losing a little rebounding because Porter does
he does rebound.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
That's the one thing he'll do outside of shoot the rebound. Well, well,
i mean Westbrook can rebound. Nicola can grab boards too.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
If that's the worst thing that can happen to the Nuggets,
you know, not having as many rebounds as they did
last year.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Hell, I'll take it.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Well to me, to me, I don't want to give
up boards because the way this team is like, you
need second chance opportunity. You need somebody who's able to
uh to take away second chance opportunities and get you
second chance opportunities.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
But here's here's what, all right, and it's a big
one too, Okay, so next a lot, Yes.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Yes, here's a big butt. The idea.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
The idea is that you get Levine, the ideas that
you're going to score more so you're not going to
see the ball bounce and are coming off the rim
where you have to worry about getting second chance.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Point if you can score more efficiently exactly.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
So that's the idea is So if the Nuggets would
score more efficiently with the Levigne in the line that
opposed to MPJ.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
I just feel like it makes Jamal Murray redundant that point,
because Zach Lavine's gonna be doing what it is that
Jamal murray does offensively at that point.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Hey, that's a price of doing business. Well, I'll just
send your game up. Then you gotta Yeah, then you
gotta figure that out.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Or do you run with the lineup where now all
of a sudden you're puting Westbrook at the one, Murray
at the two, and Zach Lavine at the three with
Aaron Gordon and Jokic. Shot to feel like there's there's
some kind of you know.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
To walk. The idea is how many shots can you
get up on a given possession and how many can
you see actually go in?

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Because right now.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
An a lot of the Nuggets shots are not going in,
which is why the Nuggets organizations have in this conversation.
This is why they're calling teams, Hey, you know, what
do you think about MPJ right? Would you be interested?
What would you be willing to give us for this?
What can we give you to get a player?

Speaker 1 (19:47):
This is why, Well we come back.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
We're gonna get a chance to talk a little bit
about Travis Hunter. We're gonna get into previewing this Chargers
matchup tomorrow night. Get your temperature on that you guys
listening to Broncos Country night ray here on kiawe.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Here's here's what I do know.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
I mean, just thinking about the concept of those two
players and the level of explosiveness that Zach Lavine and
Aaron Gordon both have and incorporating that offensively into what
Nikola Jokis brings to the Nuggets offense.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
It changes so many things for the team.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
It makes them a whole lot scarier than they are
right now offensively. So Peaches and herbs, herbs and peaches,
peaches and cream, I.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Don't care what you want to call it, sign me
up for it. I think there's a difference between those two.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
I believe that there's a specific difference between those two.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
Peaches and herbs and peaches and cream. Well spring on
some herbs here and there. One of those is the
one to twelve song referencing something entirely different.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
I'm just I'm just saying, I'm I'm ready for a
level of excitement and Nuggets basketball that we haven't seen.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
And I love that scene a lot.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
Being considering that the Nuggets have already won a title,
the idea is getting back to another one.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
All right.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
It's it's you know, we don't just want that. You
get a title, you get a taste of it, then
you want title town. You want you want to be
the dynasty. You don't just want to you just want
to one off. Nobody wants that one off. But you know,
the Broncos were one off Super Bowl fifteen and then
they hit the you know, hit the Valley. Everybody wants
to be Kansas City where they're they're in contention for
it every year.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
And so that's that's sort of the thing. I want
to get a little bit about.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
This nil stuff because we talked about last couple days,
but you haven't been here with Travis Hunter and some
of the stuff that's coming out about. Uh, first of all,
his girlfriend fiance, and we'll get to that.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
In a minute.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
But the nil stuff, where Travis Hunter is not taking
money and and people seem confused on this.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
He he does take nil money. He doesn't get nil
money from.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
The collective at Colorado, right, he gets an independent of that.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
And so what he's doing is he's taking.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
That money that he gets independent of that and he's
investing it back into the collective so that other guys
get a shot too.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
And I think the more we find out.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
About Travis Hunt, the person on that side of things,
the more you find out what just a phenomenal person
he is. You know, he's a high character, high grade,
high caliber person who does his best to elevate other
people on top of him.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
That's gonna go a long way, right, and it definitely will.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
And then you have the flip side of this, with
the ridiculous stuff with his fiance that raises the hair
on the back of your neck a little bit.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
I'm telling you teams that.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Overanalyze and hyper analyze every little.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Part of this, this is a piece of the puzzle.
It is definitely a piece of the puzzle. So I'll
speak on the first part. When he comes to doing
what Travis Hunter is doing, we all marvel at his
athleticism on the field, I think it's even better to
understand him as a person and a teammate who's willing

(23:05):
to fork over some of the money that's coming into
him to now kick that back to the collective and
give it back to I believe fifteen of his teammates. Now,
I don't know about you, I don't know about Zach right,
but I don't know how many teammates in college or
teammates that I've played with in the prons or hell,

(23:26):
family members who will do who would be willing to
share revenue like that?

Speaker 1 (23:32):
Because everyone is.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Always about me, me, me, and this is just another
layer of who Travis Hunter is. Having that willingness to
share his wealth with others, just like Ben, would you
share some of your wealth with Zach and I would you?
Would you be willing to do it?

Speaker 1 (23:53):
Yeah? Well see, first of all, see you didn't answer, right,
But I don't know. I was trying to think.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
It's like, I mean, you know, I come out of
pocket and pay the board ops Christmas bonuses every year.
Exact may not know that, but you know I pay
grant and the other by up. I've give him Christmas
modesses every year. I'm just glad it's on the record now. Yes,
I mean exactly, but I don't I don't want It's
not something I like to talk.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
I don't really right, but I don't advertize it, right,
But you know I was. I come out.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
I want to show those guys how they work hard
for us all year, and I want to show how
grateful I am. And so there's you know, there's a
little extra cash for.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Him at the at the holiday seat.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
I try to give it to him at the holiday season,
and I make things a little bit, you know. I mean,
you saw me do this last year, But I think so, Yes,
I absolutely do stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
I don't. I mean, it would depend contextually on how much.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
But if it's somebody that it's in this particular case,
much like Travis Hunter. If it's other people that are
elevating everything and helping me succeed, yeah, I want to
invest in them too. I want to keep them invested
in me, and I want to invest in them.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
But this is what this is what I love about
the situation and the news that came out about what
Travis haunts who was doing because he realizes that even
though he's a shorinarror player, he can't do things by himself.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
He's not super man.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
And even though he has those superman type of moments
and what it says to me, Travis Hunter would be
on the next level a hell of a teammate. And
this is what you look for when you are scouting
and you're evaluating players. You look at their athleticism, what
they bring to the table, how they help you on
the field.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
But what guys are.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Good locker room guys and usually quarterbacks get that label.
Oh he's a leader of men and he no looking
at what Travis is doing is a great thing.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Now, the flip side of the coin flip side.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
He's gonna look at this and say he's got hangers
on that he can't get rid of, or people that
are in his camp that I'm not necessarily somebody I.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
Want to deal with.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
First of all, Travish Hunter doesn'tdrink, by the way, doesn't
drink and go to parties, none of that kind of stuff.
We get to the Heisman ceremony and his girlfriend's not
standing up.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Dion gotta tell her to stand up.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
She looks irritated that she had to stand up and
applaud the whole reason she's there to begin with. You
have the the video of her being kind of I
don't know, distant with the fans at the Adidas signing event,
like why do I have to be here for this?

Speaker 1 (26:08):
That kind of stuff. To be totally honest, in that case,
they didn't come to see her. They didn't, But you won't.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
You're not you're not star of the show exactly exactly
reason you're there, and you're there to support and uplift.
And it's the thing like if it were me, like
let's say let's let's go let's go wild out of
pocket you Let's say I'm dating some actress right, and
she she went with which actress doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
Johanson.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
But she's married now, so whatever, let's me okay, all right, So.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
We were on the red carpet, right, they aren't there
to see me. Yes, I'm holding the bag for I'm
letting her. You know, it's her time to go get
in the spotlight. I'm just you know, it's my my
My job is to.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
Support and uplift her in that moment and fall back, yeah,
fall back, let her, let her get her flowers.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
I don't need to be standing there getting my own
flowers too.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
Would would would you she's on the red carpet, would
you like kind of grab her dress to pull it
out and make sure I'm doing whatever things.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
To make her look I'm doing. She's already a twelve
out of ten.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
I knowing my best to get her to twenty, right,
Like it's one of those things. But that's what I'm
doing in every moment that I'm around her in the
public spotlight, I'm uplift there. If we got a disagreement,
something's going on, that stuff staying at home. When we
get out of the spotlight with Handlett in the car,
we'll hand' we get home, so we won't do the
b in.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
The I'm not cutt her off thing he's in public
and everything like with me when I'm in it.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
But that's that's how I am in a race.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
If I'm in a relationship, I want to do everything
that I can to uplift that person in public, now
in private, if we got business to handle, we got
business to handle. We're not getting on social media and
having me, first of all, me jumping off Travis Hunter
jumping on there talking about she's drinking herself to sleep
because she's so upset with the bread the backlash.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Don't you don't need to say that. Second of all, Uh,
you don't.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
You certainly don't need to be getting in these situations
where you're talking about how you know, you drive her
to parties and then sit outside the party waiting for
her to you know, drinking party and all this kind
of stuff and take her home.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
He hey, listen, bro Hey, he's borderline simp behavior. Man,
look blessed is hard.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
For if that is what he's doing, it sounds bizarre
and obviously you don't want your other person out there
partying when you're not. But if he is, that concerned
about her safety where he's willing to do that, blessed,
it's hard for that.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
If she's as concerned about her safety, she doesn't need
to be going in the first place.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
I get that.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
But we live in a different world of society now
where it is very difficult to play number two. Right,
you said if you were dating out, Well, it's different because.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
He sits outside in the car. Okay, it's not gonna
make sense.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
But here's where is different because he's used to being
in a spotlight.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
She's not so trying to capture some of that spotlight
by bouncing over him. This is what's taking the place
in social media.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
We now live in the world of social media with
the younger generation, and everyone's trying to get there.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Yeah, and that's I think it's because you and I
straddle that generation where we've seen what life was like
before that maybe we have a different because for me,
I don't understand it.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
I don't it bugs the it bugs you know what.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
Somebody somebody told me this the other day and it
blew my mind. Right, And they're like, we're so conditioned
by social media now that if you were sitting there
and you didn't get a hundred likes on a post.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
You're upset at it underperformed, But if a hundred different
people told you that you look great today, it.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
Would blow your mind that you would not be used
to that kind of in person attention. Somebody said you
look great today a hundred times, told you have great
you were one hundred times that day.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
What's the world that we live in?

Speaker 3 (29:37):
Now?

Speaker 1 (29:37):
In the world people would tell you, hey, can you
put that in a tweet? Yeah? It up on the
gram Let's go out to the Kelly Travick Center. Checking
with table Brian. This is one of my kids' favorite zones.
I love the song. I gotta watch the music.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
I don't think I've ever I don't think a pay
attention like I don't think I've ever in the video
that I can recall the next break. Now, we gotta
watch it during the break. Yes, I see what's gonna
happen here. Yeah, there's where all three of us agree
on that song.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
Wow, this might be the only thing that we actually
all three agree on.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
It's like the Spider Man meme with all three Spider
Man's playing each other.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Right now, which one does that make me? I guess
I'm Toby Maguire. I'm definitely Tom Holland. Unfortunately, how did
you make.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
That distinction that you're Tom Holland because I'm like seven
Andrew Garfield.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Also yeah, plus Andrew Garfield's great hair.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Yes, I hate it. I'll take Zach was like, yeah,
I'm Tom holl Like, like I feel like I'm Toby Maguire.
I'm the nerdy one. I'd like, you know, a Miles
Morales right like over the hill. There's so many cheers
from Actually does that make me like the cage? Like
sometimes I'm not Spider Pig. Okay, we gots a weird

(31:04):
text sit here tonight.

Speaker 4 (31:06):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
There are several people, though, that don't want to trade
for Levine for multiple reasons.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
Three says we don't need more offense. We're scoring on
hundred twenty five a game. We need defense. We can't
keep giving up one hundred twenty five a game.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
I don't know that Levine gives you that and will
never offload Murray now he makes too much money.

Speaker 3 (31:21):
Levine is a better defensive player, yeah than then Michael Porter.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Junil Porter is not a defensive player.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
I mean, I don't know what that's a life size
a life size cutout of Michael Porter Junior is a better.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Defender than Michael Porter Junior. I'm just saying, uh, some
to those says to think that you are people who.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Thought Benito was a bad pick and now he's a
favorite for Defensive Player of the Year.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Well, he says a lot about those who criticize Benito
and the pick, but it also says this, and the
most important thing is that player development is so important.
And when we first see a guy, when he first
goes out on the field, whether it's the first eight
games or that first year, we really don't know who
that player is right away. Usually it takes about three

(32:09):
years in the league before you were to say, well,
we know what this player is. And Benito is definitely
showing that he is that guy. So, I mean the
Broncos drafting him, it makes them look brilliant because they
were able to do something that's very difficult in this
league is draft and development.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Yeah, and Banito was one that I nailed to. That
was one of the ones.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
I remember that one a while back and Ryan and
I were doing the Draft show or whatever.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
I unearthed some of the videos from that.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
It's oh, it's hilarious because Riot's just sitting there like, Oh,
you're going to be insufferable.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
You're got to be so insufferable, like, oh, they're taking him.
It's funny because I.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Thought to George Payton that night he sat down with
us and I asked him about it because I had.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
I pretty much knew that if Panito was there, they're
going to take him.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
And I so I went back and watched everything I could.
And the first snap Nick Benito played Oklahoma gainst Baylor,
and he goes out there, picks one off, drop back,
and and so you know, I was talking about that.
I'm like, you know, maybe does he give you versatility
that maybe you can you know, drop him back or whatever.
It's the Todd George Page, like, I think we just

(33:15):
want him going after the quarterback.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
You know, I need to.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
Go revisit that with George now after the last two weeks.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
Yeah, you do.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
And I think that's what the Broncos thought that Drew
Sanders could be right, And I think there's still a
belief that maybe he can't, maybe he can morph into it.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
But for Vance knows that This says a lot.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
About Vance and being able to spot talent put him
in position and develop him because another guy who's developing
into that Nick Benito type of guy who has the
skill set, because not every edge rusher can do it.
Not every linebacker you can put on the line of
scrimmage and ask them to drop in coverage.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Is Joan Allis?

Speaker 2 (33:52):
Yeah, and he's seen he looked pretty good out there too,
So it's you know, credit to George Hayden, credit of
the Scouts, credit of ass Joseph for development. There's there's
a lot of a lot of credit that goes around
on that kind of stuff. And I think, yeah, I
think that that's that's fascinating to me real quick, before
we hit the brake pad from monument says ask Mick
if he's ever gone in the zone where your vision
seems to see everything and everything around you slows down.

(34:15):
I played football and basketball, and when that happens, it's
almost magical.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
It is. It seems as though like you and a
matrix with bullet time.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
Yes, it's like you can will mentally anything to happen.
You know, you see it a couple of frames before
the ball is snap.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
It's like a movie. Yeah, and it is true. I've
had I had a couple of times on the field.
It happened for me in the army too. One time
we were out there. We're in the middle of you know,
some stuff with firefighting. Man, it just it did. It
slowed down like the matrix and you're just like, huh,
I'm in the zone right now.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Like your brain, you know, is just going so fast
that everything seems slow, you know around you by comparison,
and uh, you know, and you're on the football field,
especially at that level, at the NFL level, where everything
is fast and it slows down for you, that's got
to be something else.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
It's like, Okay, when you first get into the league,
it's like being a toddler or excuse me, like four
years old going to school for the first time. It's
so much keio, so many kids screaming, your your senses
are all over the place. You don't know how to
you know, read and see things. And your speed and
the reaction that you have you had in college, it's
like it's no longer there or it's a half a

(35:20):
second too slow. Yea. Once you are in the league
and you've seen things for a while, I swear to you, man,
it slows down like this you like.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
I again believe this is abony. This is exactly the
rest of the well Gus catch a night back after
