Speaker 1 (00:00):
It kills country tonight, bevinsmon Albright, Grant Smith, who's rocking a.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Beard and it throws me off.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Man, it throws I'm telling you, like, you can't the mustache.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
It's thick, it's and I'm used to the stash and
it's thrown me off.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Well, this was born out of laziness, and then I
cleaned it up and I thought it looked kind of nice.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
But I'm messing nice. I'm just saying it's throwing me off.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
The wife and I are both missing the mustache, so
it'll be back next up.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
I will say this, like looking at Grant's beard, Why
she's nice. She doesn't really approve of the beerd.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
No, it doesn't like the beard as well.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Yes, I gotta gotta go. Yeah go, bro, that's that beard?
Is it like you're gonna be one of those guys
like I'm not wishing it on you. I hope it
doesn't happen. But if you lose hair, you'd be okay
bicking it. Go with just the beard. You got the
little bald head you can, you'll pull it off.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
I can't pull off a bald head. I can't pull
off a beard. Don't put that evil on me. I'm
just I can't do what. I'm jealous as someone who
can't do either.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
I still got a good hairline in my mid thirties.
I'm thinking I'm gonna be okay, yes, and.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Then you know, you get into your forties and I'm
gonna have to get outside the turf like an out
back here. They advanced hair restoration. That's what I'm getting down.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Huh.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
There we go see if they get they got a
discount for brother until we get the homeboy look up.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
I'm just saying, because uh, that stuff is pricey. Five
sixty six yards takes line. What's that check out already?
I might I'm gonna peak into it a little. I
gotta get dude, this let us a shredded. I'm just saying,
I gotta reset. Oh no, but I gotta.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I gotta be thankful Peter's out there replacing the field.
I gotta I gotta go to the place of turf
up here, just saying five six.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
It won't cost me. What's that? It won't cost us some.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Of the some of them pricing on some of that stuff,
manly good ones.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
That you can go.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
You can get it done cheaply and it looks cheap. Yeah, yeah,
now you got two different grades of hair. Right, Wait
a minute, what's let's good?

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Why does it look like they planted crops and rows
down that you know? Yeah, it's no, there's there's somebody places. Man,
it's like twenty twenty grand. Yeah, it's a little pricey.
So I'm trying to say, if you uh, you know somebody,
you got.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
A homeboy hookuput I'm willing to look at that voice
of course. Steve at Ware the Hall of Famer, I'm
gonna be in with us the first hour. We got
Nick cosmider at, Parker Gabriel gonna join us. Later. We
got the NFL pick them the NFL six pack. It's
pack show tonight. And we are on the eve. We're
on the cusp, Steve at Water, We're on the cusp.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
All we have to do is to have.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
The Kansas City Chiefs come here to Denver and wait,
knock them on, play their backup players, and we have
to just have one point more than they do. And
the final whistle sounds it's not so easy, doesn't It
sounds so easy? How so easy?

Speaker 2 (02:33):
But you know, is not gonna be as easy as that,
And I'm.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Sure Sean Peyton had told them, guys, hey, we got
your on the point.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yeah, all areas.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
And especially with the way that this thing has gone
the last couple of weeks, losing to the Chargers the
way that you did, losing to the Bengals the way
that you did.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yep, you know you're you're.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
The last thing you want to do is lose this
thing and have eight months to sit on a three
game slide that missed the playoffs going into next year,
which is in my opinion, this offseason is a culture
building year for Sean Payton.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
You put the foundation in this year. You're gonna start
putting the walls.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
You want to start putting the walls up on this thing,
and you want a playoff appearance to say, hey, look
we made the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Now you've got a taste of it. Now you want
a little more.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
The last thing you want is a three game slide
to end the season and then eight months to think about, man,
what did we do to choke this thing away?

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Yeah, And just to be honest, even if we did
lose it, I don't even want to speak that into existence.
This still was a It was a much better season
than many people thought we were going.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
To have Well, I'll get to that to say I
want that.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
What we don't want to we don't even want to
get to that. We don't even want to talk about that.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
We need the win years, we need the win, We
need the dumb We need to hit the Chiefs harder
than you hit Christian McCoy in back in the day to.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Find a way to sneak that win. Then we get
a little symmetry.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
I am yeah, And you figure the guys have to
feel like they can do it. I know it doesn't
feel like it's an insurmountable task to beat these guys
because we had them with their starters.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Yeah, yep, and their home had in their home, in
their house.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Yes. So you know this thing is as you look at.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
It, it looks like and certainly the odds makers think
that the Broncos will winnes But the odds makers were
wrong on the Broncos season. As you oscinated earlier, this
is certainly a lot better season than anybody thought they
were gonna have. Although I did I predicted nine wins,
so they're.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Sitting at nine.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
I hope I'm wrong, but it I mean the way
that they've lost the last two games, and I you know,
I dogged Sean Payton for that halftime decision to throw
the foot.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
That was just yeah, yeah, that's it. You come back
to the Cincinnati game.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
I think it was the wrong call, but it's mathematically
defensible going for one.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
You only need to tie. I get it. It's a
mathematically defensible position. So I don't want to dog him
for that. It's not the decision I would have made it.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
I'd have gone for two of the moment, but it's
not my job on the line.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
I think I would have gone for two there just
because I felt like the offense was having some struggles
and hey, we got a chance to get down there.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Let's let's hit why to strike while irons hot, Let's go.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
In and go for it and see if we can
punch it in. And uh, but then again, if if
you don't make that, now everyone's.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Questioning why you made that decision. Yeah, that's I mean.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Yeah, By the way, there is still a scenario where
the Broncos can make the playoffs even if they lose. Yep.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Uh, you just need Miami and.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Since it out to lose, so both those teams lose,
you're in either way. Yeah, but that that just we
don't we don't want to count on that. Man, we
don't wanna we don't want to run with that. We
don't want to entertain that. We just want to win
and we're in. The last thing you want to do
is back to your way in the playoffs on a
three game slide, just because two other teams happened to
lose and you got your.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Way in there.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
I mean, you get in, but it's you know, then
you're gonna go up to Buffalo. You lose that one,
and then you go into You're going to the house
for eight months, and you ended the season of a
four game losing streak that you know, probably probably getting
blown out in Buffalo, you know, and and and and
that's something that I'm not sure that that's the way
you want to do this thing. You want to win
this thing. You need this for the culture, You need

(06:05):
this for what you try to build. From a coaching perspective,
you need these these young cats have.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Never been to the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
You got what one guy, a couple of guys on
this on this whole roster of if you.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Have been to the playoffs, Yeah, DJ Jones, Like here,
you barely.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Have anybody on this roster that's been to the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Yeah, and.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
You do have some leaders on the team who have
been here for a while who we know are hungry
and know the importance of playing well in this situation.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
They haven't played in the playoffs, but man, you know
they want it.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Yeah, But I think if you've been there before, there's
something to having been there before.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
It makes that makes it more real. Right for guys
who've never been there, I mean, we've never been there.
We're here, you know.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
Yeah, Yeah, I guess you got to you got to
point there. But I still think that with the guys
that who who haven't been in their level of one
to get in is like off the charts because that's the.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
One thing they haven't done, right, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
I mean, And the only way you're gonna win a
super Bowl, you gotta win a playoff game.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
You gotta win a few of them. Yeah, you gotta
win what three of them before you can get there.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
So it's a wild cards.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
So you gotta get get a step closer this year
and hopefully, yeah, make a deep run. But it all
starts with one game, actually, one play I'm telling you
back in the day when the mentality that our coaches
wanted us to have was don't even think about winning

(07:41):
the game.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
You go up there, You go out there and.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Play one player at a time for speed, Get up,
get up off the ground, bam, go do it again,
Do it again, do it again. Eleven twenty two guys
doing that the full game. Hey, guess what, You're gonna
look up the scoreboard. You're gonna like what you see.
That's I think that's the attitude. The thing is, this
is a very young football team.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
They don't have a lot of experience, and I think
that can go both ways. Once you're too young to
know you're young, you know what I mean, Like, you're
too young to know some.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Of that stuff sometimes.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
But at the same time, I mean when you're young,
you also usually you're coming off a winning college organization. Right,
you used to win and you wanted high school, you
want in college, and now you got the prom You
used to winning, and so you want to find that.
You either want to find a young enough roster that's
used to winning, or old enough roster.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
It's desperate to win.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
It's that in between where you had a losing culture,
so you kind of got complacent with them. That's that's
what you want to avoid, and we're kind of constructed
that way.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
But I can say though that when I came into
the league as a rookie, between.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
That time and like when we finally, you know, got.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Back to the playoffs and we went on with the
Super Bowl a.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Rookie year and we got man, we got the breaks meadows.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Though Washington super Bowl, I mean not or a super Bowl,
sorry miners, And yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
I would rather we didn't even go through the super
Bowl to get me like that. But later on when
we went back to the playo in ninety six seasons,
starting with that season, you know, well, actually we didn't
make the playoffs. We had a great year that year,
but you know we lost, No, we didn't go and
play We lost though in the playoffs to Jacksonville. But

(09:16):
I was a much different player then than I was
my rookie year.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
And I can't imagine.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Like if because I made a lot of mistakes in
that first super Bowl, you know, I mean I missed
the tackles. Yeah, but it's amazing how much progress you
make as you become a veteran in the league, especially
if you're playing the same team, and you got playing
with the same guys, you could make big jumps each
and every year. So I'm hoping that our young guys

(09:51):
make the most of this moment and just say just play,
play your hearts out, because going forward it's going to
be a little bit easier because you're going to be
a better player in the future. But hey, these opportunities
don't come that often either, you know. And you know,
my went my rookie year, we went my second year,

(10:11):
and then we had a drought. I didn't go to
the playoffs anymore for several years, and like, man, I
may not get back anymore.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Yeah, I was lucky.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Then you start get pa though, that you start getting
that like.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
No, man, I don't you know, I don't know are
we going to get back again? You know?

Speaker 4 (10:27):
And so I'm saying that to say you have to
realize the urgency of the moment and the importance of
the moment to make sure that you go out there
and play one player at a time full speed.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Yeah, we're talking with the Hall of Famer Steve at
Water here.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
I for me, you know, I look at this thing
and I'm like, we should win this.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
This is mostly backups. I mean, you don't want to.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Underestimate anybody because these guys that are playing for their
jobs somewhere else, right, they're not gonna be laying down.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
These guys are gonna be laying down.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
But if they were the best players, they would probably
be started.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Most likely they already at their start, you know, the Broncos.
I mean, you got probably one of the top quarterbacks
that's played in a long time, uh in my homes.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
And you could be a really good quarterback and not
start competing against him, you.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Know, because you grow up because he's and Carson Wentz
has been productive. Carlon Wentz, Yeah, he's nice, He's you know,
he's been productive. He's been nice. You know I was
several years ago. But you know, he's trying to he's
trying to play.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
He's trying to have a Sam darn Old, Baker Mayfield,
you know, Smith Moley. Then he says the verdant he
can resurrect the career, you know, like he's trying to
have that moment.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
These guys aren't gonna lay down, Like I hate it.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
It's it's it's sort of a balance here because I
do believe that the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Can win this.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
But at the same time, I don't want this this
pervasive attitude that I get when I'm out and dinner whatever.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Oh we're gonna bop the floor of them this weekend.
Always got of stuff, and I'm like, man, I wouldn't
be you know, Champagne not gonna let them do that.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Yeah, Champagne's not gonna let the guys get get to
the placing because he knows.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
That they're gonna come out there. They're trying to win.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
The second team, and the whole second team not gonna
be playing right mind you.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
There's gonna be a whole bunch of starters in there too.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Well, yeah, I mean they're gonna have I think they've
got you know, they're they're gonna have five or six
starters both sides of the ball that'll that'll be there.
But a lot of their depth is out, you know,
on this. But still, I mean they're still a formidable team.
They're dangerous team. And you know, I and.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
If they're running the same system and.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
These guys have all been in this system, you know
this isn't so you know, I I don't know.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
It's coming down from the Kansas City side of the house.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Talk to some people from Kansas City last night and
they were it was it was kind of a mixed
bag because they're like, well, we never even expected the
Broncos to be here. Everybody thought they were gonna be
the dormat the division this year with a rookie quarterback,
so you know, you don't want to overlook it.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
But at the same time, like they don't.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
They don't like if their fan base don't really care
about this week and they're like, we're already in, we
get we're good whatever, we still want to make get
hurt out there if you're the I mean, so so.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Do they do they?

Speaker 4 (12:59):
I wonder if they have the feeling that, like I
know we used to have, like hey, we're still going
to they're in not division, you need to get good them.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Out Well, that's the thing. It's like from the fan base,
they didn't have a lot of that. But I've talked
to people over there and there's there's a sense of
pride in the locker room as far as that goes,
Like we've owned the Broncos for the last decade. You know,
they got us, they got us once last year, but
we've owned them. You know, we want to keep it.
We want to keep that, We want to have that.
Wean't have that psychological this year. Well, I mean they won,
but but I'm just saying for the last decade, prior

(13:28):
to prior.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
To last year, they've got they've got the best of the.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Andy Reid era has not exactly been friendly to the
never Broncos, And I think they want to keep that
psychological edge. Knock your opponent out, you know, keep that,
keep that going, even if it is especially if it's
your backups. You know, if you do it with your backups,
that's something else on the line that there is a
psychological edge to that kind of stuff.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Oh yeah, I remember, I remember in that situation where hey,
we got some backups playing and guess what, they're out there.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
They're hungry, boy, they're trying to get it, and we
have to go there.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
And play like these To start is playing because doesn't matter,
doesn't matter who's in the field, You got to play
your best because somebody's trying to beat you. They started,
somebody's trying to score on you. Somebody's uh, you know,
trying to shack you. Uh, they're trying to get the
best of you. You can't let that happen. If you
were giving.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
The speech, the pregame speech to these guys, what do
you what do you tell them is the most important
thing to keep their eye on on.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
Focusing on one play at the time. Yeah, you know
you can't. Don't even worry about who go win the game.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Worry about who's goin that play.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
We got eleven guys, nine to ten guys every play winning.
Guess what, this gonna be a good We're gonna have
a good turnout at the end of the game. But
if we only have one or two of you winning,
you guys thinking about winning the game, talking and now
waiting for.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
That win the play, win the play quarter, win in
the half, yep, and then you go do it again. Yep.
They celebrate won the game is over. You're right, I'll
be dropping balls before he crossed in some home.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
There'll be standing there mugging the crowd while they throw
a Hail Mary behind you. You just have some embarrassing moments. Boy,
that that was crazy. Jonathan Taylor basically cost the Colts
playoffs dropping the ball before he got to the goal line.
You had that kid from from Chicago. They haven't won
a game since then.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
Yeah, well he literally have not the hell we jaon
dan Is throwing a hail marry right behind him for
the touchdown.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
The Bears have not won a game since then. That
was bad. They have not won a game since they
were like four and two at that point. They haven't
won a game. I never seen anything like that before.
He's giving the gladiator with the arms. Are you not entertained? Yes,
we are. I mean he never in a thousand years

(15:48):
would imagine that happened. It's your fault. Yeah, it's you, like,
it's it's.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
You, bro.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
And and if the player would have happened and he
wouldn't have been doing all that, you know, nobody would
have you know, it.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Was any man. That was a great play by the
other team. Yeah, but because he did what he did,
the ethics.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
The playing one man short the end zone, because he's
over there getting like I said.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Give him the gladiating walk arms out. Yeah. So we're
not gonna be doing any of that. We're not doing
any of that. We're gonna we're gonna wait to the.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
End the game and then we're gonna have a nice
celebration right here at home.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Kansas City does have a weapon that uh, I think
could be I'm gonna call it a secret weapon.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
I don't want to say that.

Speaker 5 (16:29):
But.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
I do think that they have somebody who's eyeball in
this game thatj p run I only got nineteen carries
on the year. Now he's their fifth leading receiver in
Kansas City. We only got nineteen carries on the year.
He always has that one game every year where he
goes for like two hundred yards.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
You know, well, I hope not. Man, he's prime for
the prime for the vengeance.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
Come on, we can we can't let it happen this
week he is. Uh, maybe you can do it once
he gets the playoffs, but not.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
I'm just saying because they're sitting Pachaco and they're sitting Uh,
I think you're said in Kareem Hunt, and so you're
looking at uh getting all the carries and you look at.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Sama getting the carriages. Man, I'm just saying, like, it's.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
I din't got to have another backup?

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Who they got the full back kid Carson Steel. No,
there's no way that only those two guys addressed. Maybe, well,
he got a practice squad.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
They got some practice squad, right, nexs to stuff too,
But it'll be uh, it'll be samaj p Ryan, Carson Steele.
And then they've got Keyante Ingram on the practice squad
and uh, the one kid that can play places receiver
and can play running back.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Okay, so they've got that. I mean they got an off.
They got enough running backs.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
But yeah, Samaji figures to get the lion's share of those,
and he has that one. I don't know what it is,
but he has that one game every year where he
just goes bonkers.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Yeah, I'm not, I'm not. I'm not dead. You know
about it. No, I'm not. I'm not concerned about that. Okay,
your man. If i'm it's at Murphy's law. You know,
it's at Murphy's law. Thing. Anything that can go wrong
will go wrong. Check it out.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
From the deepest players point of view, it doesn't matter
who was in there. Bro, we coming out and we
just we hit anybody anything that move, We're hitting it,
all right, Okay, it don't matter, all right. So my
day Kareem hunt the Checko Chippecko, he said.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Jem Peto, then the guy who carved Pinocchio.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
So it doesn't matter who it is, bro, whoever it is,
he just has that one game every year where he
kind of he kind of sort of you know, goes off.
It was, uh it was Kansas City. It was against
Kansas City. As a matter of fact. When he was
with the Bengals in twenty twenty two, twenty one carries
one hundred and six yards, uh, you know, and then
he also had six catches for forty nine yards on
top of that. He's just that one game every year

(18:54):
where he sort of sort of does that. You look at, uh,
the biggest one he had for Denver. Now they used
a much much more you know, rotation as we know.
But the Cleveland game last year where he had seven
carries for fifty five yards and another catch he barely played.
And he's still you know, every year he has one
game where he just he puts uf a stupid about Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Well hey back in the day, I remember coachan An Sutton.
Is it when he.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
First got there, when you paid him against the forty
nine ers. You don't look at it like he's Jerry
Rice his number eighty, Yeah, just that's their number eighty.
It's just it's just my DP Ryan he's number thirty four. Yeah,
that's all we look at his number thirty four. We
gota get umber third foot to the ground.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Okay, yeah, because honestly, I don't know if I could
do that with Jerry Rice, though I appreciate shan Hand,
but I, hey, you had He's like, He's like, it's
number eighty and I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna got a
real goodview of his back as he's running. Get a
great view of that number with the name run on
top of it.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
Hey before that, Hey, he had some problems with him.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
He got a little bit, but he was a little
older to his years went out. He's a player, though.
I think it was still good when he was old.
Man the man. Yeah, well, you gotta break Broncos country
and not be back after this five six six nine Zeros.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
Text line taking your uh, your questions for Steve. We
got Nick Cosboder, Parker Gabrie gonna join us here just
a little bit. We've been talking about these Kansas City game. Well,
I'll tell you what you guys want to go to it.
I got a pair of tickets to give.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Away right now. Win a pair of tickets to Broncos
Chiefs this.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Sunday and power Field of Mile High the official home
of the Broncos KOA be color five right now three
zero three seven one three eighty five eighty five three
O three seven one three eighty five eighty five color
five pair of tickets of the game.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
That'll not be a Chiefs fan either. Are they in
a Noldblae section?

Speaker 5 (20:50):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (20:50):
No, I think there are three hundred. I don't actually know,
but usually there goes. That's good. He's the ones that
give three hundred levels. So yeah, I don't know. We'll see,
we'll see.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
We'll take three or three seven, three eighty five eighty five.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Dollars five down, Steves. As we look at this, how do.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
You get guys prepped for the playoffs even though you
haven't clinched yet, you.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Know, you kind of have to. You're gonna have a
quick turnaround.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
You're gonna have to turn around and play go on
the road and play Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
How do you shift from or is it a shift?
Do you just want to continue.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
The mindset of as of today we are in single
elimination football?

Speaker 4 (21:27):
Yeah, it's really I thought they had that mentality last week,
you know, and you know back when, uh, when we
first have the potential get into the playoffs, it's like
we got to win one game and we're in.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
So but you had parish, you had a parachute. You
needed to win one of the next three. Well you
lost too in a row. Now you are, you are in.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
The parachute's gone, your backup shoot is gone. You are
You were down to it in the singlation singlelimination football
from here to the super Bowl or from here to.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Couch one of the two.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
Yeah, and it's it's like, you know, you can go
out and give it your all one game and just
keep doing it, you know, and if everybody gives it,
they're all and are locked in. How can you lose
If you're locked in, If everybody's locked in, everybody's giving
a hundred tepercent, everybody knows what they're supposed to be doing.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
How can you lose?

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Well, your head coach can throw the football at the
other the half, Uh, leave interest enough time on the
clock for you. Opponents who kick a field goal off
a free kick something that hadn't been done in forty years.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
That was crazy. I didn't know what was going on either.
I've kind of grabbing.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
We're like, bro, we're gonna see history.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Somebody freak kiro probably grab and shake up screaming up
costing at the TV.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
We're out, we're on appearance, we're out on appearance. At
we're at my oppost zero.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
I'm screaming at the television at Sean like what are
you doing?

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Quick throw to the ball, Well, just kneel.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
It out and yeah, yeah, they wind up throw the
ball and I'm like, oh my god, they're gon We're
gonna we're about.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
To witness history.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Because Jim Harba tried it before. He tried it back
when he was coaching the Niners Phil Dawson. They didn't
make it really yeah, So I'm like, we're a see
history here.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Bro, I've never seen it. But he's looking at me
like I've never experienced it. I didn't know what the dude.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
There were so many thicks with so many people because
the whole bar there.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
But they're all looking at me like what are you
talking about? They're gonna get a field.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Goal like and they're like, He's like, they're lying up
to kick on Yeah, I mean it's a free kick.
They get a free kick because there's no time on
the clock. It's it on time down. It's not like
I'm trying to explain it on the fly. I'm like,
we're about to witness history.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
This is gonna be I'll explain it after. Just watch.
Understand that they.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
Get three points out of this if they make it,
and then I'll explain it. And it was I mean,
I'm just sitting there like, man, and I'm looking at
look at the head coach's face on TV.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
And I'm like you, Dodo, like you, like, what are
you doing?

Speaker 1 (23:45):
What do you do? You you had, you had the ball,
You've got a two score lead, and you were getting
the ball back to start the half.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
I know, man, but hey, you.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
I'm just offensive coaches.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
They want to put points on the board every single time.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
You created a failure outcome when it was none. That's
the cost of own business. Sometimes.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Then you get to the next game and he isn't
aggressive and going for two. He lays up and he
kicks the extra point and it looks like that. Really
I didn't have as big a problem with that, like
I would have gone for two, but whatever, I didn't
have a big problem with that because the Gopher ones
mathematically defensible.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
He gets the tie.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
You still, so I get it, but it looked like
you were playing for the tie. You over time you
think so those calls were weirdly conservative.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
I mean, and you hit all the momentum in the
world after they dointed it for the win, they dont
the kick for the dumb had all the momentum in
the world.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
I you know, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
I'm just hoping that these last you'd like to play call.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
I'm just well, there's been a lot of that. But
I didn't like the game management. I'll say that.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
I think there's there's there's a different because some of
the play does I mean, everybody in the league runs
the same, you know, twenty four plays just dressed up
a little different.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
I don't know about that, you know, I mean.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
There's some of this stuffs a little bit did there's
some there's here there. But ever, you know, everybody out
there is still running slat flat, they're running daggers, they're
running mills, they're running like.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
Everybody's running the same concepts.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Call it's called something, but they're running the same you know,
fifteen sixteen concepts. It's not the design that's that's the
problem with me. For me, it's just like the game management,
like you have opportunities to you know, go into the
half up two scores and you blow that you have
opportunities to win the game.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
Two yards to win the game. Well, I tell you,
I put the fire of God in a spit of speech.
I'd call time out just to give him the speech.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
On the sideline, we are two yards, sound like we're man.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Yeah, two yards. You tell me you can't get to
you look being a grab the face mask. You tell
me you can't get two yards? You tell me like
I O.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
But the defen is out there too. You're not going
up against there, No, you're not.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
They wanted to, They wanted you's got to want the more.
You gotta tell you, guys, I gotta want it more. Yeah,
I'm just saying I think I see Nick Ferguson coming
back here to try to reclaim his wallet to be
found on the floor, and I feel like we need
to put him through like a trivia session to be
able to get this thing, or you know, maybe uh
you know, maybe some kind of I'm just glad.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
We already booked that trip on his credit. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
we kinda.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
We just gotta Yeah, that's we got to make sure
that we got to make sure that when Nick Ferguson
comes and gets us.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
He does not get his Costco bill right away, so.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
That he does he knows that we uh what, oh hey, okay,
found this wallet on the floor with uh you know,
debit cards and credit.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
Cards and stuff. Yeah, you didn't use it and buy
any food or anything. We just got a couple of Louis.
We Yeah, we didn't. We didn't use it at all.
Just don't check. Well, I'll get the alert some time soon.
Gonna get thirty pizzas into the house. That all expense
combat right to one.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
You know exactly who was Yeah, Grant Grants like we
need a book Camo trip right now?

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Well, really bonus, what let me find out? But here
here it is.

Speaker 5 (27:14):
I think that I can trust get old Grant Smith.
But according to Benjamin, all right, maybe I can't.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Man. Holiday season, no, no, the holiday season has already passed.
I know this is holiday. There's always more holidays like
we got we got an Augeration.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Day, Mlcaden Day, we got we got President's Day.

Speaker 6 (27:36):
Holiday season. Man, you just should be in a given
move right now. I am. I'm giving back right now.
I'm gonna give you a microphone air exactly.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
I'm gonna give you some advice for free.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
It?

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Yes, yes, are you like not to get tomorrow trabue?
Where were you when you realize you know your wallet?
I was, actually where were you at?

Speaker 1 (28:04):
The worst is getting the drive through and then you're
like you ordered something already, and then you're fumbling.

Speaker 5 (28:08):
You're like like, hi, I was actually pulling into uh,
the whole Food's parking, like to buy pizza from my kids.
And then I said, wait a minute, something is missing, man.
I was like, what is my car? And I'm frantically
looking through my bag and I'm like, and I'm leave
it at home?

Speaker 2 (28:25):
And did I need it at the station? So apparently
I left it here?

Speaker 4 (28:28):
So you don't have you don't have the app on
your phone where you can pay for stuff on your phone?

Speaker 5 (28:32):
No, I don't.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
I don't trust all that. I don't like.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
Ryan was in there earlier and giving me trap because
apparently he has some kind of tracker on his phone
where he can track his wife and kids and she could.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
Do the same for me. And I was like, I
don't need that.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
When my wife says she's going somewhere, I trust them, yes,
trust yes, yes.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
But I haven't got the trust but verified app.

Speaker 5 (29:01):
Right now, I said, I'm not that type of guy
with my wife has to worry when I say I'm going,
I'm leaving, M going somewhere. You got I'm going somewhere else, right, So,
but but no, I don't. I don't have that, Steve,
you have that on your phone?

Speaker 2 (29:16):
Oh yeah, I pay anything.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Yeah, I got that. I got the remote lock on
my thing too. I locked my car if I can't
find my wall up and lock my card.

Speaker 5 (29:23):
Wow you got Hey, man, you guys are better than
I am.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
But I just want to get later. But I could have.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
But for some reason, I am one of those individuals
that feel safe with pain with cash sometimes.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Well I wish I was back to that. I used
to only do cash. I've gotten reliant on the cards
and you know all that kind of stuff. Now I
have my phone, I have a thing that pops up.
I have to authorize the payment from my phone before leaving.
Go use your thumb pin on your face like like,
I have to push a button on my phone in
order to authorizery cash unauthorized.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Why are you looking at me like that, Steve? Like
he said, you pay this dude, rolls up.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
He revised a new car rolls up the breecase breecase Man's.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
Many's anti Jackson's.

Speaker 5 (30:08):
Right there, Harry, I know you have been always talking
about your crypto stuff.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
I gotta do a crypt but cash still, I mean,
you still can pay with cash, even.

Speaker 5 (30:16):
Though I know if there's certain places I've gone to
and I've received several looks from the cash.

Speaker 7 (30:22):
You gotta quit painting panties, dude, No, nobody tastes, nobody tastes. Wait,
I'm not screws McDuck man. No, man, No, I don't
know cat nothing. I mean cash.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
I know it's a foreign thing now because everyone is
all in technology.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
But do you travel? Yeah? I do I travel, but
you know what airline tickets?

Speaker 4 (30:46):
Yeah, okay, right, I'm just using your credit card.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
You get some free points. And no, I ain't had
that talk to you out there at the break.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Steve at the Hall of Famer, the Hall of Fame,
wallet reclaimer, Grand Smith back there too, just saying five, six, six,
nine years in text on seven to us, say hey, guys,
I don't only have a question for Steve.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Kind of a funny story.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
I worked for Soundtrack Electronics many years ago and a
customer pickup invoice came in that the customer's name was
Steve Outwater and I thought, no, I can't be. I
got his order, which was a couple of cam quarters.
I took him to pick up areas shirt off.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
It was Steve.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
This has been back to back Super Bowls. He was
buying cam quarters for his trip to the Pro Bowl
in Hawaii. What he said, it's been my favorite Broncos
player back then and still is. So every game I
wear my throwback at Water Jersey.

Speaker 4 (31:37):
There we go, there, we go. Appreciate you, appreciates you. Yeah,
we need that those cam quart a two back in
the day.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Yeah. I was like, what was the idea?

Speaker 1 (31:45):
She said, nothing there huh no, not making a movie
Shannon Sharp style. I wasn't even going there, going there.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
No, no, no, no, I'm still not making a move. No, no, no, no,
I would a content creator. Okay.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
I was like, why are the production equipment for for deadne.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
You're making Steve walk out of here?

Speaker 4 (32:13):
Hey.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
By the way, on a positive note, the Broncos are
wearing their throwback exactly.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Which is you know, the fans are excited, but it
was originally gonna be they we're gonna wear those What
were they gonna wear them for? I think the Browns
game and the originally they were gonna wear for the
Browns game or something, and something got messed up and
the Browns had to wear a certain uniform and it
messed up. Anyway, everybody was irritated with whatever happened with
the uniforms there.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
They're getting to wear the throwbacks for this one. So
that's man, I gotta come through.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
And the throwback well, I'll tell you because we wore
it for the Raiders, remember, and when they got up
ten nothing, I was like, man, they're about to blow
this in these uniforms. We never see these, they burn,
they never go to see them again. Pass came through,
sparked it all back off, and that's that's what we need.
We need to turn around play. We need to turn
around moment here, because it seems like we got to

(33:01):
turn around moment.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
The Colts game when Jonathan Taylor but it wasn't us,
it was him. He dropped it.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
But it was a turnaround moment because they had all
the momentum.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
They were running buck wild on us.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
They broke one for for what would have been a
tuddy and a bigger lead and they got called back
and it was our ball. We need a turnaround moment
here to wipe out these last two games.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
He needs something in there.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
That could you could just because this team, it does
kind of ride the roller coaster of emotion.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Yeah, hey, Nick Benito ps two.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Both those guys in the top three for defensive Player
of the year the sportsbooks.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Man, they're gonna take it on Banido. He gave me
a pick six. Bro. I wouldn't be mad at him,
just saying, oh, they can do it both. Hey, we
got some playmakers. We got some playmakers who was saying.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
Nick Benito want to come through with like a four sack,
two touchdown game. Wouldn't be mad at would personally take
him to Casa Banito. I'll never forget because I coined that.
I called it that before he was even Bronco. He
had him on the show. We interviewed him out to
Theay Senior Ball or something like that. So they can't
get a joke at the time, Like he didnt get
a jokes, you know, the banal.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
It's like a thing. They got T shirts and all
this kind of stuff, and yeah, it's a it's fun.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
It's a lot of fun out there, Steve, what's your
you know, as we look forward to this thing, we
look forward to this game like.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
We got to win.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
We don't want to speak anything else into exist, but
what's your what's your confidence level on the confidence meter here?

Speaker 2 (34:17):
I'm at about a six and a half or seven.
I'm a little harder.

Speaker 4 (34:22):
I'm about it, uh eight, eight and a half just
knowing the dynamics, knowing that this.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Is a must win game four.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
We've the last two I thought were must win as well,
also taking two taking into account Patrick Mahomes will be playing,
Travis Keussey won't be.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Playing Larris Jones.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
Yeah, our confidence level should be should be high. I
don't want it too high because you know, you go
to look a crazy stuff. Yeah yeah, but uh, I
feel like we'll go out and do what we need
to do to get to that next level win. I
think the Chiefs it's it's it's with them not playing

(35:03):
their starters for them. They they they they feel like
they probably think they were going to win this too,
and that would it work to their advantage if.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
We I mean, if they don't get Cincinnati in the playoffs,
if you know, otherwise, So I don't know.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
I'm hoping we have a good one out there. I'm
hoping we come away.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Victorious, and I'm hoping we we spark something that's that
creates a fun run through the playoffs that nobody's expecting
the Denver Broncos to come in and.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
Do, and we do it.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
Anyway, reminiscent of playing Pittsburgh back when Tebow was there
at the various times like oh man, that one of
those kind of moments that was crazy.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Anyway, we got to hit a brak, Steve.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
We appreciate the time as always, Happy New Year to
you and yours. It was not a great twenty twenty five.
Maybe pus have a great twenty twenty five. Undfeeted in
twenty twenty five, there are We got to keep that
street going, Broncos Country not can't wa
