Speaker 1 (00:00):
And I didn't been all Brian Nick Ferguson Grant Smith.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I had some Raiders fan tweet that me. I'm like,
I don't speak non playoff.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Sorry, wow, that's cold blooded.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
You know we're not We're not with the rest of
the porters anymore.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
We came up.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
We don't have to we don't have to pretend.

Speaker 4 (00:16):
So we went from I guess the Broncos went from
paupers to a prince.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
We went from the outhouse to the to the big house.
I was just saying, okay, so we.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Uh, yeah, we don't speak poor anymore.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
We don't speak raiter, we non playoff or anymore. I'm saying,
never heard that one before playoff country tonight.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I just you know, I don't want to. I don't
wanna say with the poppers anymore. I'm just saying, hey,
listens the plebs, I'm here for it. I I was
sitting there, I was talking about buddy or a good buddy,
anybodt SIORI and talk about the Raiders job, and I
think I really do believe it's gonna wind up being
Pete Carroll there, which is gonna It was just fascinating
because this division is going to wind up being Andy Reid,
Sean Peyton, Jim Harbaugh and uh and Pete Carroll basically

(00:57):
the NFC from like twenty thirteen and uh, you know
it's it's it's gonna be funny. The one joke I
was cracking was like, what is this division's chewing gum
budget gonna be? Between Sean Payton and Pete Carroll and
Jim Horrible. I'm not sure if Andy Reid's a big
chewing gum guy, but the other three are.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Oh no, Andy choos but he calls Yeah, he doesn't
chew's like Coach Peyton.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Yeah, and he's it's a little different.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Andy Ree's got a spin all that.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Oh five six six text line.

Speaker 2 (01:27):

a little bit. We got wildcard. We can't pick him
the NFL six pack. Nick, we are coming up on it.
What is your confidence level going into Wildcard weekend here
for these Denver Broncos.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
I have confidence that the Broncos can go in and compete.
My only concern, well, I have several concerns as this
game goes, but it's just about finishing. That's the big
word for me. Can you finish? And we've seen that

(02:21):
the Broncos at times not start well.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
The first and second half.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
I mean the first and second quarter doesn't usually look
well for them. That third quarter is kind of like
up and down, But it's usually the fourth quarter where
they started to settle in. They started to make their
necessary adjustments and we see plays being made on both
sides of the ball. More importantly, that's when the offense seems.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
To find a rhythm. But I am here to tell.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
You, man, that is not what you want to do
on Sunday against Buffalo.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Start so well?

Speaker 2 (02:59):
No, I mean, what is what do you need to
do well? They need to start well, they need to
start fast.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
And that just goes back into you know, your typical things.
It's your play college your level of execution. Because I
went back and I watched three particular games. Right, I
watched the game against Kansas City, I went back and
watched the Detroit game, and then I went back and
watched the Rams game. I would encourage everyone to go
back and watch those games because what I was seeing

(03:28):
from the Buffalo Bills could, in fact put pressure on
the Denver Broncos once again to start fast. And it's
not just starting fast, Ben, you have to finish it
for four quarters because if you're thinking, well, Josh Allen,
the Buffalo Bills are gonna lay down. No, the Broncos
have to put up a fight. I don't know if

(03:50):
you and Grant have ever been in a fight, but
you know sometimes in fights it's like a one hitter
quitter and the fight's over. But the worst ones is
when that person never gives up. Right, You just tuzzling
and you're tied, and it puts your hand up like
all right, man, okay.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
This is enough. You look around.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
You wantn't abody to stop it. No one stops the
damn fight. That is what the Broncos have to be.
They have to be a damn Tasmanian devil.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
That's what they have to be.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Well, you gotta have that attitude for sure. I mean
there's nothing to there's nothing to play for in the
sense that nothing to hold back. There's no reason to
hold back. I guess is the best way to put that.
You're playing for it all. I mean, this is winning.
You're in losing your out territory, which the Broncos have
been in for I guess for a while. Although you know, technically,

(04:41):
I guess there's als those two games and then you
know they handle business against.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
The Chiefs backups.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
But you're in that. You've already been in the playoffs.
Last week was a playoff in a sense, right, so.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
You already you already know.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
What that feels like. They do need to come out
I think, But to me, I think the bigger thing
from going back in the games I watch, yeah, to
run the football. This is how you be Buffalo. They
send that front four etch in waves. Have got eight
guys and they send it in waves.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Right.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
They love playing. The roots of what they do is
Tampa two. Now they do other things too, but the
root of what they do is Tampa two. And I
for me, you've got to be able to run. You've
got to have them pulling guys out of what it
is they want to do. Because Bo hasn't seen a
lot of Tampa too. You saw a little bit of
it in the Colts game, but he hasn't seen a

(05:26):
lot of it, and frankly didn't play that well in
the Colts game. So I want to I want to.
I want to flip this thing on its head. I
want to see this team come out and sledge hair
Murmer in the run game and shock everybody with a
run game that's been Nason till year.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
Well, see that is well has been the common thread
all season long. Run the ball, but we haven't really
seen a nice recipe as far as the run game
is concerned.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Well, you we did one stretch. It was the end
of that Kansas City game in Arrowhead when they were
trying to mote the clock down for the field goal.
Was a dominant run game for six minutes, and then
we just never saw it again.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
Okay, Well, there's eighteen games in the season, well eighteen
if you're the Broncos, right, But Bro, the idea is
that it wasn't the largest ample size, And once again,
it speaks back to calling those types of plays when
there's a sense of urgency and things are.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Dire, Why wait?

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Why wait to things get dire to now be able
to open up your run game.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
But I'm going to tell you this once again, based
on going.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Back and watching my three games sample size of the Chiefs,
the Lions, and the Rams, I'm gonna say the back
who should get the bulk of the touches. Notice I
didn't say carries. Grant and I went over this the
other night. It's not about carries. It's about touches. The

(06:56):
guy who should touch the ball a lot from a
running back standpoint.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Wait for it, Tolil McLoughlin.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
The reason I say that you go back and watch
the Rams game and watch Kwaren Williams, who was a
smaller back similar to that of Julil McLoughlin.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Now here's the difference.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
Sean McVay came up with creative ways to get Karen
Williams involved.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
We're talking about, you know, running power.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
They were running inside wham and trap plays right to
create JetSuite Hey, to create a crease for a smaller
back that has that game breaking speed.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Of all the backs that Broncos have right now.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
He's the fastest back that they have, so you give
it to him, you set him up. But we haven't
really seen it. But running the ball or let me
back in for a second. Utilization, proper utilization of the
running backs are going to be key, and for me,
you need a guy with game breaking speed and that guy,

(07:56):
in my opinion, is Jilil McLoughlin. If you grant any
of the Texas want to challenge that, I'm moving for it.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
I'd like to see them run with power at the
defensive ends early, try to wear them down a little bit,
and then try to get to the outside of the speeds.
You get the linebackers moving a little bit. You know,
I've seen I've certainly seen games where you know, you
go downhill with the power and then you get sidelined
a sideline with the speed and you can wear a
team out on defense. I mean, they're a team that
likes to play in zones, so they're going to be

(08:23):
fresher down to stretch and you got to find ways
to take that away from them. Right, It's gonna be.
It's a tough matchup. I mean, it just is. You know,
they're they're a good football team. Would have won as
many games and they as they did if they weren't
a good football team. The question here is how to
exploit them. And if you go back and look at
the games at which people won, you're right. The Rams
was one of them that was a close game, although
high scoring a shootout. You know, Baltimore vote raced them

(08:46):
with the power run game. And so it's if you're
going to do things like that, you've got to find
ways the teams are able to exploit them. One thing
I will say is that everybody keeps pointing out the
Broncos a little susceptible to the run. You're talking about
passing the ball to the running backs. The Broncos susceptible
to that. This year we saw it both.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
We saw it.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
We saw it against the Chargers on the wheel. We
saw it against the Ravens on the wheel. And we've
seen teams hit the flats, they wait till those those
linebackers hit the pass rush and then they just go
right over them. And it's it's a function of not
having Once that happens, you don't have anything there to
protect that.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
But the reason why Ben and I get the whole
idea of hey, you want a power run game. For me,
you want that power run game once you get a lead,
so now you're able to wear down the defense. From
the start of the game for me is speed, baby
speed baby speeded. I need speed on the field to

(09:38):
make sure that those linebackers are respecting your love with speed.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
That's where you get them.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
To start backing up on your second level because they're
anticipating it. And once you start doing that later on
in the game you have a little lead, now you
can go with the power game.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
I've always been a proponent of power to speed, speed
of power meeting. You start the game with power the
middle of the game, second to third, you know, the
middle meat of the game's speed, and then you go
back to power like you're talking about at the end
after you you know, to assault it away. I've always
been a fan of starting with power, though, and then
and then you move to speed after they get that
second you know, the first win out of you, then
you hit him with the speed. I've always been a
bigger fan of that.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
See I know why you've been.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
I mean, anyone who knows anything about your video game
history and how you love to run the ball. That
is the slow methodical way that you like to eat
up the clot and keep the ball away from your opponent.
For me, it's like the Broncos have to do something
to change what they have been doing all season long
with breaking your tendency. Because if the Broncos come out

(10:40):
and they win a coin toss, they get the ball,
whether Buffalo the Firs or not, they take that open and.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Drive down the field and they do it with speed.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Now Josh Allen's on the sideline go oh oh, we
got out the game now.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
On the flip side of that, they tend to like
those shoot us so because they've been winning a lot
of them.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
That is the mentality that the Broncos and the pace
they set on Sunday. So be it, but at least
it'd be the slap cross the face to Sean McDermott
and Joe Brady and Josh Allens to say, hey, we
came to party. I hope you got the plastic rad
cups because hey, we got to get our drinking games on.
That's exactly the mindset that you have to have, like

(11:23):
we're going to make this a party.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Now, you guys jump on.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Tables and do all that before the game, but we're
going to party inside your stadium after the game with
the doug.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
How confident are you that we can come away with
a win in this one? I mean, it's a tough
football team Buffalo. You know, they wouldn't be the number
two seed if they weren't a good football team. And
I get it, we're confident. It's been that kind of year.
But at the same time, we're up against a very
very good team hadn't plugged, but played a team this
talented sense of Baltimore game we didn't really do too
well in that one. Is this team grown up enough

(11:55):
to handle jumping in this ring? Or is this one
of those situations where we get to the we're happy
to get in to the playoffs this year. Now on
the top of the players like that that the fan
base as a whole, we're happy get into the playoffs
this year, and next year's when the window really starts
for bow.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Honestly, Ben, I don't have an answer for that.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
I can't say, oh, yeah, yeah, they should, uh uh,
because I've been in these playoffs situations before. I've seen
veteran teams that had a week off and they had
a great season to close out the year and they lost.
They were upset and can we say, well, because they
were rusty, they overlooked that opponent. That that's a possibility.

(12:34):
Now this is a game that well, you got to
go out there and take it. You got to go
out there and take the damn game. It can't be
like well, if you know, and I know earlier in
the week, Coach Pate was talking about, you know, young
and hungry. That gets you with so far right, it
gets you to the dance, it gets you off.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
The plane in the locker.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
Room, doing the warm ups and once they kicked the.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Ball off and blow the whistle.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
To help with that, you have to go out there
and impose your will on your opponent. Now what I
like for the Broncos to be able to do that
absolutely based on what I've seen from the defensive side
of the ball at times, being able to punch the
ball out, being able to get timely stops. Yes, I
believe that gives the Broncos definitely an opportunity.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
But also watching what I.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
Saw against the Cincinnati Bengals, there were some issues and
there were some offensive issues, and I know I was
listening to you guys the other day on the Sports Zoo,
and I know I can't remember who said it, but
it was comparison made to the Buffalo receiving corps versus
the Bengals receiving corps.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Do they look the same? They're not comparable at all, No,
they don't.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
But see, for me, I think that's where the undermining
of what the receivers in Buffalo are capable of.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Yeah, because they're very good. Kaid really is their quote
unquote wide receiver one. Khalis Year is the other guy.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
I know those guys are good. They're good.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Buffalo wouldn't be where they are if they weren't good.
And so that's that's sort of the thing. I don't
want to disrespect just because those guys aren't household names.
I don't want to disrespect it. It's the same way
the Broncos defense. You know, at the start of this year,
but I was telling me this roster was, you know,
it's hot garbage and all this can win five and
a half games. I'm like, man, I'm looking at this thing.
There's no way his team wins only five and a
half games on defense alone. And they're like, what are
you talking about? You got your tan and nobody else.

(14:24):
I'm like, nobody else, what are you talking about? They
got great players on this defense and they'll figure that out.
Of course they did at the end of the year
when you got you know, all pros out of Zach
Allen and and Nick Benito, and you got guys like
John Franklmars, who what a steal that trade was for
George Peyton And you know, looking around at this defense,
I mean, there's there's a lot of talent here, you know,
But I don't want to get in the same game
of disrespecting Buffalo's offense the same way the entire country

(14:47):
was disrespecting Denver's defense to start this year.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
Yeah, And I think it's happening on both sides, where
you have those who were talking about this particular game
undermining their the receivers of the Buffalo bill and also
from the Buffalo side looking at the Broncos the secondary,
and they're looking at the defense and.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Maybe undermining them as well.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
To me, this is where the rebbel meets to row
all season long, regardless of what anyone wants to say,
And I tell Ryan eversis all the time the Broncos
defense has been the mcguiver of the season the Broncos. Now,
don't get me wrong, it's a team effort, but their
defense has really kept them in a lot of games

(15:30):
and put the offense in position where they just need
to make plays, seal the deal, and be efficient inside
the red zone.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
But for the.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
Broncos to win this game, obviously you need both to
play well and all of that, but you need the defense.
And once again, the defense has a lot of pressure
now placed on them, which I don't think it's fair.
But being a former defensive player, you're gonna take that.
You're gonna own that. You want to make sure that
you go out there and you make plays. But the
Broncos defense will have to force some turnovers, whether that's

(16:03):
a pick six where's the sack force fomble or where
there's a farmblef someone picks it up and running back.
But the Broncos defense are gonna.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Have to lead two points.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
They're gonna have to give their offense somewhat of advantage.
From a point standpoint, it's gonna be interesting.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
You're you're up against the best sacking team in the world,
up against a team that doesn't give up very many sacks.
One of the best against that, typically the team that
gets the sacks tends to have the advantage there in
playoff matchups. I do believe that the last three times
that the team has led the NFL and sacks played
a team who gave up the least amount of sacks,
the team that had the most sacks ended up winning
all three games. So I had to go back and

(16:39):
double check that, but I believe I saw that earlier today.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
Look at that.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
Dog.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
I uh no, I was, but you know that it
tends to tends to favor the defense in that kind
of situation. I just I'm not worried too much about
the defense. I know everybody is because of what happened
the last quarter of the season. But you had you
had Pats or Tan playing on a bomb ankle. Most
of that you had rather the most just coming back
off the knee issue. You know, there was there's more
to that than.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Just yeah, don't forget the time of possession.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Yeah, there's more to that.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
There's more to that that just you know, than than
all that personally, And there's some of the people in
the Texas the line said the same thing. If it's me,
we're running, hurry up, we're running no huddle. Now we're
not snapping the we're not hurrying up and snapping the
ball run into the line. We're doing what's called sugar huddle.
We're getting up there as quick as we can. So
because that takes away the advantage that Buffalo has on defense,
and the advantage that they have is they got eight

(17:33):
guys on the defensive line that they rotate through to
keep it fresh. If you're running gassers and you're running
sugar huddle, get up there. They can't sub. You're not
sub and they can't sub. And so if you can run,
if you can run gassers like that and keep that
line from coming at you in waves, that's going to
benefit you long term while you while you wear that
defensive line out. Again, they got eight guys that they
rotate through. They do come at That's where the strength

(17:55):
of that team is. They come at you in waves,
and that's how you can negate that well.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
That means is that the Broncos are going to have
to do an excellent job of converting.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
Right converting on third down, you can run or.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
One of the worst.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Believe or not, the Bills are one of the worst
third down teams in the league exactly.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
So now you're rushing to the line of scrimmage, right
and at some point bol gets the call because he's
got the green dot, and now he's got to disseminate
it to everyone else across the line of scrimmage, which
I don't think that he's going to have a problem
doing it. But once again, now it's going to be loud.
In order to make what you're saying ben occur and

(18:34):
occur with efficiency, the Broncos need to get out with
somewhat of a lead, even if it's seven points, even
with ten points, because when that happens, you're talking about
shocking the crowd. So the crowd noise, you've eliminated them
right away. And now you can run up to the
line of scrimmage. Now you can go through your reads,
you see and you diagnose, you making your checks.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
Now you can get into the proper offense.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
But the Broncos need to add another element to the
offensive scheme that I haven't seen all season long, and
you can tell me if you've seen it. I haven't
really seen any side adjustments coming out and seeing someone's off,
someone's off.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
That's been a problem for a few years and not
just Sean bait. There was none of that Nate Hackett's
offense either. I haven't seen side adjustments since back before
Pat Shermer was running things here, like anything that I
could clearly concide, you know, because when you're watching this,
you are looking for that, you know. I'm like, man,
I don't I haven't seen any of that kind of
stuff before Shermer was here.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
Once again, if you're gonna go to the line of scrimmage,
which you want to do, you're not allowing Buffalo to
rotate the defensive lineman, but you're forcing them to show
their hand if they're going to the disguise. But once again,
both still has to recognized what he's seeing. He knows
what why receivers gonna are going to be deployed in

(19:50):
the progression.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Then he's got to make eye contact with.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
Someone and say, I know you got to go route,
but we turn that baby into a slant route or comeback.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Ye, there's gonna be some that, And then I'm in
the need Boa to recognize because they do run a
quite a bit of Tampa too, but they also like
to flip it and run that invert to at times
when you're not paying attention. It looks like it looks
like to but it's not. And that, man, I'm telling you, you
get caught napping on that, and it's it's a turnover,
and so you gotta be you gotta be careful of that.
It's gonna be interesting to see how both stacks up
against that defense and and how he, you know, and

(20:19):
how he starts to recognize things and figures things out
and decipher something that he hasn't seen a ton of
over the course of his career five six six nine
zeros A text line the uh the seven to two
oh has been basically just texting over and over hating me.
I guess I don't really know bet Albright secretly fueling
broncos wins by doubting them. This lack of faith might
just be their good luck charm. Keep it up in
Broncos country needs you. Look man, look, I will happily

(20:42):
take credit. It's actually me. It's my it's my doubts
that has fueled the Broncos all along. Thank you for
feeding my narcissism an ego. I appreciate it. I am
the real reason we're winning.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
For me.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
The idea is we want to present the facts right.
We're not trying to be Homers, We're not trying to
be Debbie.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
Sometimes those facts aren't super super cheerleading positive all the time.
But I'm glad they're able to We're able to point
that stuff out. They're able to cover overcoming a break.
We'll come back, We'll get more into this thing. Dan
fedis gonna join the top of the hour Broncos Country tonight.
I was on Penn State in the under and at halftime,
I was like, I'm mentally counting my money. And then

(21:25):
the second half happened. See no I was on Pen
I was on Penn State in the under, and I
man at the end of the first half, I was like, oh.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
I got this the bag.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
These two teams can't move the ball at all.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
Pis A was grooving in the first half, they were
in the second half.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
You kind of it's sallied out just a little a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Although Marcus Freeman, man, I gotta say that, dude, I
love it.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Coach out of Notre Dame.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
He nobody I think has had a better job at
halftime and turning his team around in several different games,
being opportunistic, making little adjustments here and there.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Penn State was kind of grooving and mostly was on
the ground.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
But the second half, I mean, you know, they got
the big play from Riley Letard, big pass play from
Riley Letter that that helped. But I mean it was
just and then you saw Drew Aller just fall apart.
And it's funny because you know, we've been talking on
can't Wait Sports and then Dave Logan, who you know,
has not looked much into the draftlass, but we're talking
about that.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
I was like, scouts love Drew Hour. I mean, you know,
I don't get it, but they do.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
And there you know, there's talk.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
You know, you've seen some chatter here there.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
If he came out, he could be the top quarterback
in the draft.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
No that, but not after last night.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
I don't know about that.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Not after last night. I mean, that guy needs some
He's like, he's like chicken at my neighbor's house. What
does Bland need some seasoning?

Speaker 4 (22:47):
Kind of Bland. I'm just saying, you know what, Listen
to Alan Alic's credit. I mean, he's lampin state to
this particular point. If there was one mistake that he
made and I don't want to say, well, just one
and play defines him and he shouldn't be drafted and
should affect his draft status. But Penn State they don't

(23:08):
really throw to their wide receivers a lot. The one
time he did, it was just it was just he
looked at it too long. He wanted to go to
Tyler Warren, right, that's that's his safety net. But then
he came back, going back to his progression, and he
came back late, and he didn't lead his receiver in
the right way, and he gave the Irish defender an

(23:32):
opportunity to jump in front of the pass.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
So I'm not gonna hold that against him. Obviously he
knew it.

Speaker 4 (23:38):
The woman that came out of his hand, he was like, oh,
I just I just blew the game.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
He knew it.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
He knew it.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
It was yeah, and then down the end it was
it was frustrating.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
You saw Ritter the letard get knocked out by the
way his backup came in there and and really might
have saved it for him, allowing him to get down
there for their field goal.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Also, why is that guy like a human girafte? Did
you see his.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Neck I saent Ryan a text message that said, any Ckst,
next man up?

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Because the Mike.

Speaker 5 (24:07):
Glennon Neck, Yeah, Mike Glennon Neck, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
Hey.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
I went six for seven for like forty four yards
and that drive that he filled felled in for Riley
Leonard and led him to their first points of the game,
that field goal to cut it to one score game.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
I don't know if you can see it from here,
but I sent Ryan that picture right there. I don't
know if you can see that. And I sent Ryan
that picture right there. But that is a draft neck,
I said, I said it, and then I just said
it next ny Ckst man up to be honest, and yeah,
I mean he did. He did kind of stay with
for him. There's a lot of talent on those two teams.
I mean, Toddler, Warren, Nick, Singleton, those guys are gonna

(24:40):
be playing the pro soon. Over on the defensive side,
Penn State might have a top pick of the draft
if if it's not a quarterback. There's just there was
a lot of talent on the field for those two teams.
It was fun to watch, even if it wasn't a
high scoring offensive fest.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
You know that it maybe was expected.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
What everybody was making a big deal on the fact
of Pen State not throwing against their receivers not having
any yards, And the way I look at it is
all season long, You've done a great job with Allen
Warren and Singleton. Those were the engines that powered Penn

(25:17):
State to this point. Even I think it's Harrison williasom
I think, excuse me, Harrison Wallace. Now Wallace was their
Pen State's top rob receiver, but this was the first
season he went over six one hundred yards receiving. So
I know people are criticizing coach Franklin and how he

(25:40):
coached the game, but I'm just like, well, you danced
with the one that brought you there. And there were
some breakdowns in the second half with the PI State
defense which allowed Leonard and Notre.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Dame to get back into the game.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
Because right after halftime, that first drive right out of
the halftime and the Iris moved the ball down the
field of score. To me, I was like, Okay, well
this is happen. This is what happens with Penn State's offense.
They had two or three possessions, no points that allow
Marcus Freeman team to stay the momentum hang around. Yes,
So for me, it wasn't about well, you know, Penn

(26:14):
State lost because the wide receivers at zero yrs.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
That's not their mode. That's not what they do. So
so what did you think about it? Because I know
you always like you one of those individuals who are
all game management and all of that.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
What did you think about frustrated?

Speaker 3 (26:30):
Frustrated?

Speaker 2 (26:30):
They looked like Penn State was running the ball well
early and they got away from it, you know, and
it led to situations where they were ended up punting
the football and giving it, you know, give it on opportunity.
If you let a team hang around in any level,
you know, college football on up, you let a team
hang around.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
You want to get you. Eventually they're going to get
you and you can't. I mean, if you've got a lead,
go put it away.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
The objective in football should be to take a should
be to get a lead, and then it should be
to turn that lead into a multi score lead.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
That's the objective.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
You could you could, I mean, you could talk about any.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
Which way you want. We could overcomplicate, we do whatever.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
But at the end of the day, the objective in
footballs to get a lead and then turn it lead
into a two score lead, because once you've got a
two score lead, then it's just maintenance.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
For me.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
They didn't get the ball to their guy who led
fist stated all season along and receiving and it's Hallo Warren.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
I mean they gotta think you get that touchdown.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Yeah, but they didn't get it to him enough in
my opinion.

Speaker 4 (27:26):
And and man Singleton, I just start watching him in
the past couple of games or whatever.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
But I'm really liking this kid. I really like him.
I would like him miss he was in the Broncos UNIFILM.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
There's a lot of people talking about that Warren and Singleton,
really liking both those guys.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
I'm not I'm not opposed.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
I just there's other guys I like a little bit
better as far as that kind of stuff goes. But
I'm not posed.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
And again, that's something we got to look at because
those two positions are certainly positions the Broncos.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
Need to address. What about year am I love? Oh,
I'm I'm a big fan.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
I believe in love.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
WHOA again, no grant, I hope you got that because
we know how Ben kind of takes to the word love.
And anything associated with love. Now you are changing your story.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
I'm back in love. Oh you're all in love.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
Oh you're back in love. Oh man, oh please, you're
gonna have to break this from death.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
Your ma, Come on down, Come on, the price is right,
give me get come.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
On down one another.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
Bob, Wait, is this part of your twenty twenty five
kind of redo? Because I know Ryan has this whole
idea he's doing the twenty twenty five redo, but I'm.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
Not redoing it. Yeah, kind of a redo.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
I don't want to say it kind of you know,
usually people say, well they're they're making what usually resolutions?

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Yes, So that's how I'm calling it. I'm not just
I mean, I'm not I'm not making any resolutions. But
if you're my loved one to come on down, I
would not be mad at him. I'm just saying I
think he's going back to school, but I would absolutely
and that won't play again.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
Robbed in that one play that was a touchdown. That
was absolutely a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
His knee was not down. He's in the air with
the ball over the goal and that was a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
Then get out of here with that stuff.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
Hey, listen, if you are embracing more love.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Sign me up for I'm embracing one specific type of
just just once. There's only one type of love. What
do you know another type of love? Jordan, No, love
is love Hebert love that the character Terry Crews plays.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
I don't know anything about Herbert.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
He's a senatorial Candidate'sterry Crews and he plays a senator
candidate or whatever, Herbert love.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
I'm good on that.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
As long as you embrace an L O V. I'm
good as long as there's a year of mine in
front of it.

Speaker 4 (29:44):
Maybe there is a chance, Grant, maybe there is a
chance that that that Ben can somehow really be kind
of rebooted.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
If we can say that. So you're telling me there's
a chance.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
I'm not telling you there's a chants. There's no chance.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
You just said it yourself.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
I'm just saying, oh my goodness. I want to get
into because these stupid rumors are circulating again real quick.
We gotta hit traffic, so I'll do that here a second.
But I want to get to these rumors about coach
Prime taking in an NFL job.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
We'll get into that. On the other side, it does.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
Feel like in the eighties rocks Yeah, one of the
best souff the.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Video like this is so weird. It's like a giant octopus,
a crab or whatever.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
I was watching the video. My son was like, Uh,
what's going on in this video?

Speaker 4 (30:44):
Right?

Speaker 1 (30:44):
I was like, yeah, I said, it's the song. The
song rocks Man.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Yeah, this is like a guitar hero song. That iss
what it is.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
It just feels like you should be jamming out to
the Little chap you know, great cover song or karaoke song.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
Yes, a lot of falsetto with this. I don't know
if I could hit that.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
No, this is good.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
You can hit that false settle, I know. I mean
carry out countries five, six, six, nine yearols of text.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
Like a lot of rumors going around there about de
On Sanders possibly going to the Giants or the Raiders
as a head coach.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
I was told by.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
Parties that would know that that was absolutely false, that
the Giants are not making a coaching change, and that
the Raiders are not considering the On Sanders at this time.
In fact, the preferred candidate for the Raiders. I mean
they want Ben Johnson. They don't think they're going to
get him after that is Pete Carroll, which again is

(31:46):
fascinating because this division at that point in time winds
up being Andy Reed, Jim Harbaugh, Sean Payton, and Pete Carroll.
Just taking you back to the playoffs in the NFC
ten years ago. Very interesting, so fascinating, uh, fascinating developments.

(32:07):
If the Raiders do hire p Carroll, I think that's
I think it creates a problem in this division if
they do, because somebody's got to lose.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
Well, when you think about the conferences as a whole, well,
how you talking about the the AFC West at that
point is I'm just I'm just trying to explain it
in this context. And and.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
There's no such thing as easy wins.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
But if you were to look from conference to conference
and say, well, which would be the easier conference to
a title?

Speaker 1 (32:39):
NFC? Maybe it's like what teams are in the NFC South.
Really there's no competition. You get the.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
Falcons, the Bucks, the Saints, and the Yeah, I mean
South is just I mean, if I were you know,
the Jacksonville job, You're like, well, I just go in
there and win a title, you know, I mean I
could win the in the division. Well, I gotta guess
go against is the Texans. I'll tell you what if
Carol was. If Carol became the head coach of the Raiders.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
This this.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
So fun, man, the rivalries. I'm here for the rivalries
just in and of themselves. Well, because Rball and Carol
were already a.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
Thing, Well this'd be totally honest. I mean, the Raiders
and the Broncos haven't been a rivalry in a long time.
But Carol goes to Las Vegas all of a sudden,
All of a sudden, we got Carrol chewing wads of gums.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
The true a gum budget for the AFC West will
be insane.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Pete Carroll and shot Bag.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
Wasn't juicy fruit, That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Yes, well, I mean Horrible is a spearman guy.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
But spearman juicy fruit.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
Whatever it is, I would have to figure out as
our as our gum inside, or I would have to
figure out what Pete Carroll choose. Yes, he looks like
a Hubba Bubba kind of guy, but we'll figure it out.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
I don't know if it'shulb of Bubba, but that would
make this division one of the musty divisions. I know.
Grant you love your bingles, and I love that division
because it's kind of a black and blue division based
on physicality and how they beat you up.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
But I mean this division would be like fun, right,
this this this would be like the like you know,
like you had grandparents, you had the fun grandparents and
are not so fun grandparents. This would be the fun grandparents.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
Right.

Speaker 5 (34:31):
The FC Nor is still a great division, but that's
like the down to business grandparents. Yes, the a f
C West with Pete Carroll Adam, they're the fun grandparents.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
See the FC Nord that's more like you know, chili
and rice and corn bread. Right, that's a little more hardy, Yeah,
a little more hearty.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
But here in the a f C West, oh man,
we popp a gumbo and everything drinking Martinelli's, yes.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Exactly, the Strip Tower or whatever. Yes, that's what this
division would be.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
It would be, and I think there's a better than
better than average chance that it does happen. In fact,
if you were asking me what my odds were at,
say sixty five percent, than Carol's the next Raiders coach.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
As a football fan, I mean I don't like the Raiders,
but as a pure football fan.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
The league's better when the Raiders are good. It is,
but but I would love to see that beating them
is that much sweeter.

Speaker 4 (35:29):
You would have two coaches in a division who were
former college coaches who won national titles versus two other
coaches who hadn't done it and one who has won
Super Bowls.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
So, oh man, sign me up for let's go.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
Amount of championship?

Speaker 1 (35:43):
Yes, yes, a lot of You know how much ego
is in that?

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Oh my god, that's what I'm here for. I'm hearing
the ego fest because somebody's got to lose it. That's
gotta lose and get fired. We'll see how it goes,
