Speaker 3 (00:39):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
I look forward to seeing your nomination for the iHeart
Podcast Awards.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Well, if people are quit voting for next favorite podcast,
Dudes on dudes right, Yeah makes sense.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, who wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
I'll see here we got a couple of texts coming
in and I want to talk about the CRONKYD. We'll
get to that in the NFL six pack. Comcast and
an Altitude came to a deal. We'll get to that
in the NFL six back today. Somebody asked what we
think of Caleb Johnson running back. We got to that
a little bit ago. Somebody he talked about that reporter
that asked Pat Mahomes about the refs?

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Was that did Ay Rod ask Pat Mahomes about the refs?
It was not a rock making the rounds, Okay. I
was like, I didn't see that one.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
I already told him my idea, which was to show
up in full referee regalia with a fake Grant Smith
like mustache, uh in a whistle and then take a
check up the up there to Andy Reid and Pat
Mahomes and like, hey guys, you forgot to endorse this
and see see what the reaction.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
The reporter did ask if there were any referees that
Patrick Mahomes sent Christmas cards too? Wow?

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Yeah, And he gave it. He gave a great response.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
He did not act like he was offended by it
at all, And I thought he handled himself pretty professionally.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Yeah, I think I think you gotta have to if
you're the Chiefs at this point, you gotta have to
laugh that off. And you know, the NFL has done
a decent job I think of responding to how ridiculous
the idea that the refs are paid to throw games
to the Chiefs is.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
But you know, people believe whatever they want to believe.
You know, he's conparent. Nick's looking at me like he
believes it conspiracy theories.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
I'm not calling anything a conspiracy theory. And how is
something a conspiracy theory when you actually see something taking
place and you go, well, I saw that. Now we're
just going to try to issue disclaiming like we didn't
see it, and the diminished it by calling it ten

(02:28):
four a hat theory.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
You've set and watched games with me, Ben, I've seen
bad calls. I wish I now. Do I think there
are bad calls? They benefit Kansas City?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Absolutely?

Speaker 1 (02:37):
I think there are bad calls benefit every team. That's said,
do I believe that there is an organized or I'm
trying to use any other word than conspiracy, an organized
cabal of people that are trying to affect the outcomes
of games in favor of Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
I do not believe that.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
I mean, I'm not saying that I am one that's
subscribe to that. I'm just saying I subscribe to the
idea that my eyes are telling me.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Something, and I'm also telling me, yes, yes.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
My my eyes are seeing something. I'm like, it's too consistent.
That's all I'm saying. Okay, I'm not saying. I'm not
gonna dispute that.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
I just said, like, I do not believe in an
organized and an organized attempt to do any of that.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
I have seen calls go that way. I see calls
go the other way.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Kansas City is one of the most penalized against teams
in the nfls for the last five years.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
So except in the fourth quarter, less than four minutes remaining.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
I'm okay, well there you go.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
But we'll get to the uh, We'll get to the
cockey and the the.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
Altitude and Comcast stuff in the NFL six packs.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Stacy from Utah says, I see where both of the
devons are available in free agency. I would like to
sign both of the prices right and give them the
chance to prove they are.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
They thought they were. I don't know what that means
the Devons.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
I'm looking around the room right now, Stacey.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Can can you clarify on that one price is wrong?

Speaker 5 (03:57):
Okay, Okay, I know I told you something like the
Devin McCarty's is you know, I mean, yeah, the McCarty's,
but that's Jason and Devon, Yes.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
But I don't know Devon's. I don't, Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
I'm trying to think is that Am I missing something
with that? Or I thought maybe who's referring to, like
Devin Copeland.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
I don't know, Stacy text us and just kind of let.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Us know who you're talking about.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
That's Devin the dude like the rapper as another devn
that came up. I'm just saying, maybe that's what he's
I don't know. I will figure it out.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Stacy texas back because I'm probably an idiot right now.
I'm probably blanking on something that's very obvious. But whatever,
Do we have any favorite Super.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Bowl storylines at all this week?

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Like, do we have any storylines from this game that
that that are jumping out? I mean, I don't really,
but I mean, this is a rematch of a super
Bowl from a few years ago, so I but I
don't really have anything that's jumping out at me like that.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Are storylines that I'm you know, keeping my eye on
all week.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Well, I mean.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
There is some sort of of a a storyline when
you really think about it. Obviously, looking at the situation
we have once again right before us in the month
of February, you have two quarterbacks who happen to be
African American playing against one another. And this whole situation
took place years ago, so that is something to talk about.

(05:19):
But one storyline I thought was really interesting when you
look at the Philadelphia Eagles, you look at Jeremiah Trotter,
I mean his son, who played the Both father and
son played at Syracuse not ex excuse me, Clemson, and
there's a photo of the older Trotter, the father played

(05:39):
for the Eagles, holding his son, who now is playing
for the Eagles in the Super Bowl. I thought that
was kind of somewhat of a fascinating story about those
two guys. And then that's one thing about this fun
time of the year. A lot of things come out
about the storylines leading up of father and son type
of moment.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
I thought that was big.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Now here's something else that I thought was interesting, not
really super Bowl related, but somewhat since Patrick Mahomes is
in the Super Bowl. Kirk Cousins had a conversation and
Cousins was talking about Lamar and Patrick Mahomes and about
their their their mobility, and I think we got a
little of one of the two audios right.

Speaker 6 (06:22):
Here, specifically Mahomes, even Lamar Jackson some of the stuff
he does, just their spatial awareness, their.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Ability to kind of know when do I run, when
do I stay in the pocket, when do I move
but remain a pastor? When do I remain a pastor?

Speaker 6 (06:34):
And then say Okay, it's time to go and take
off with my legs. I just think that that sixth sense,
that ability, it's hard to teach and and he just
has always been able to do it well.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
And the more.

Speaker 6 (06:45):
Tape the defenses have on it just doesn't really change the.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Fact that he's going to have that sense.

Speaker 6 (06:50):
I mean, even some of those place he makes sure
he's you.

Speaker 7 (06:52):
Know, spin moves and no looks, and I.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
Don't know how to do that. I wish I did.
Maybe he do a clinic someday I learn from him.

Speaker 6 (07:00):
But sometimes I'm watching with my boys and I look
at him and I'm like.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Yeah, sorry, guys, Dad, Dad can't.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
Well the part that's the point about that, and he's
talking about Lamar and Patrick Mahomes and some of the
things that they can do as mobile athletic quarterback, extending plays,
and Kirk Cousin saying that he's telling his sons, hey, listen,
that's not the type of quarterback I am. But here's
the other part that I thought was definitely fascinating, and
I want to definitely get into you into it.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
With you about this particular audio that he said.

Speaker 7 (07:30):
Here, I just to ask this question of coaches, like, hey,
do I need to be a scrambler to be able
to make it in this league long term? And coach
will always say, you know, Kirk, you have to be
able to throw from the pocket with accuracy no matter what.
And while the ability to scramble and do other things
is a nice trait to have.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Ultimately the whole thing is built on can.

Speaker 7 (07:47):
You from the pocket throw with accuracy and make great decisions?
And so that really is the trait we all have
to have. And so that's kind of always been what
I lean on. But yeah, I still think I got
good football left in me and you know, time will
tell is so kind of uncertain. We'll get to March
and know a lot more.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
So.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
That's him talking about his position with it, that is
with Atlanta Falcons, but the other part of coaches he
had spoken to before and talking about how does a
quarterback have longevity and sustainability in the league and saying
being a pocket passer. I don't know how you feel
about it, but I say that that rule is no

(08:25):
longer present in today's NFL because if you look at
majority of the quarterbacks, they have a certain unique skill
set and that is being able to run with the
ball and he stand plays with their feet.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
Well, yeah, if you.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Don't have the ability to extend plays with your feet,
you're not going to make it as a quarterback in
the NFL. It's sort of the opposite of the way
that it was when when Cousins honestly first came into league.
It was that was right right around the time we
started to see more of an explosion of the nimble
footed passers. In fact, in that draft class alone, when
Cousins came into the league, you had what I believe
you had Andrew luck ARCHI three right there at the

(08:59):
top right, Tannehill, who's a converted receiver.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
He was the ninth all time leading receiver at A
and M before he when he converted the quarterback.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
So you had you had guys that that had that ability.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
That was really I think the first mega draft class
that had a lot of mobile guys in it that
was stressed defenses with their feet, and now everybody does.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
I mean if you don't, you're Joe Flacco, you know,
I mean, what what quarterbacks out.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
There don't stress defenses with their feet anymore and can
at least pick up a few yards here or there.
I mean, uh, you look at the the A f
C West division we're in. You got Mahomes, Herbert Nicks,
and I mean we want to go back to Gardner
Minshew last year. I mean Gardner could pick pick a
few yards up with with his feet. So everybody in
in our own division is certainly mobile.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Going around the the A f C Lamar Russ Uh
you know Joe Burrow, I mean, Deshaun Watson or whoever
they're rolling out in Cleveland, you know, put an asterisk there,
I guess. But you go down to the uh the
A C South that that's probably the only division that
really had somebody that wasn't that and Will Levis, you know,

(10:00):
because you had CJ.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Stroud, Anthony Richardson and Trevor Lawrence all can pick up
the artists with their feet.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
And you go over to the you know, the the
East and you got what toua who can can pick
a little of it up with his legs. Obviously Josh
Allen where what he can do? Drake make and run
a little bit. Rogers maybe not anymore, but he used
to be. So.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
I mean, you know what.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Two quarterbacks that are starting in the AFC totals that
they can't stress the defense with the that's a dinosaur man,
that's a dying breed.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
That's why when I heard Kirk Cousins say that, my
ears perked up, because it's like, well, who are these
coaches who are saying?

Speaker 3 (10:30):
And I understand the idea.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
In the concept when you look at the quarterback position,
your quarterback must live and down the hill of being
able to make plays from the pocket.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Yes, that is true. But the part that should be a.

Speaker 5 (10:44):
Continuation is but that pocket is going to move, it
has to move, is going to move left, right, or
that that quarterback is going to have to climb the pocket,
and with as the size increases and the speed of
outside pass rushers, you're not going to have the ability
to sit in the pocket for more than like three
seconds and go through all your progression of reads and

(11:06):
then throw the ball. No, the pressure is coming. So
just being a statue esque quarterback like Kirk is at
this particular point, to me, that guy has a short
shelf life in the NFL because you need to be
able to manipulate the pocket to extend place. This is
the thing that makes Patrick Mahomes so good.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
He against the Bills, He's being.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
Sacked and he's still throwing the ball down the field.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
We saw him, and we saw it when Vaughn got
a hold of him early on his crease which hands yes,
you know, yes.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
And we saw when the Broncos play the Bengals early
in the season, Joe Burrow's being sacked, but guess what
he's doing.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
He's throwing the ball.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
So having a quarterback that has the legs to move
around and extend place, that's what today's NFL is all about.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
It's funny because athleticism used to be a plus trait
for quarterbacks.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
Right.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
It used to be one of those things where it
was like, well, you know, he can do all these
things and he's a well you.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Know in Steve Young KiB he's like, here's what he is.
Oh and by the way, he's mobile.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Now we don't have by the way he's mobile, that's
a necessity. I mean, it's it's a ding if you're not,
you know, and that that's sort of the thing again,
look at it. Looking at the ASC you got two
quarterbacks that aren't you know, and one of them used
to be. So you know, I mean, what are you doing? Uh,
somebody needs to ask the Tennessee Titans what they're doing.
But beyond that, you know, it's it's kind of funny
to watch, you know. If we go around the NFC,

(12:27):
I'm sure we find it pretty much the same way.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
And then once again, if you have, if you are
a team and you're blessed with one of those those
A plus offensive lines that keeps your quarterback consistently clean, yes,
then I will be in the frame of mind of
all your throws are gonna be from the pocket because
you're gonna have that pocket protection.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
But we all know that all it takes one guy.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
I mean, you get two or three guys breaking down
in protection and your quarterback cannot move. We saw what
happened when Kirk Cousin came here to Denver and he
played against the Broncos.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
And he couldn't move before and he was coming off
of injury. Yeah, no reason. Yes, And this is why.

Speaker 5 (13:12):
Aaron Rodgers, as great as we've seen him in years past,
he didn't have an exceptional year this past year because
his mobility was challenged. And to me, you need that
type of guy. He doesn't have to be a Kyler Murray,
doesn't have to be a Lamar Jackson, but you need
a guy that can move in the pocket. And this
is why, I mean when you think about the Broncos

(13:36):
and say, well, how far can one raise the bar
for the Broncos, you can raise it pretty dull and
high because bo Nicks possessed some of that mobility and
athleticism that some of the more elite quarterbacks now have.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Yeah, I'm running down the list right now, And I
mean you have two guys in the NFC.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
Jared Goff is probably the most successful non mobile guy
you know out there guy and he's he has been
mobile for us. Sam Donald. I mean I watched him
shake Justin Simmons out of fields.

Speaker 5 (14:08):
Donald has mobility, you know, all all done, he would
be the least you know, Cousins would probably be the
other answer in Atlanta and he's gone.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Now it's Michael Pennox obviously, But I guess it depends.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
You know, Daniel Jones when he was with the Giants,
did I don't know who you classified the starter of there?

Speaker 5 (14:21):
Drew?

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Drew can move a little New Orleans with Derek Carr.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Derek Carr ran a four six forty or whatever it was,
four six nine forty. He's not like he can't move,
he just doesn't that much.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
Look, man, you're doing your offense at disservice to have
a guy who doesn't have though possess those athletic traits
because you're gonna call on them, because it's going to
help extain in your offense. Because now you can run RPOs, right,
you could run design quarterback runs, you can run all
these plays to stress the defense the hell out and

(14:53):
make the defensive coordinator figure out. Okay, well, do we
have to dedicate one of our linebackers of safeties to
be a small to be. You know, you're taking a
game to a whole different level. Give me that Dan
Marino quarterback. Give me that Booma science and quarterback. Give
me that Jim Kelly. You make life easy for us
in the back end. Yeah, but this is just an

(15:13):
evolution of the game. That's why when you look at
Kirk Cousins and what's remaining of his career, he has
a no trade clause with Atlanta, right, so I don't
know how they're going to make you take his poison.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
As far as that goes, I don't think they're gona
trade him. I think they're gonna have to cut him.
I think they're gonna have to cut him with a
post two one designation just because of the money that's
owed to him.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
I don't think there's any other way around that.

Speaker 5 (15:33):
And then I'm thinking the only team that would therefore
pick him up would be well, there's two teams will
be you know, the Rams or the forty nine ers
to pick him up as a backup to Brock Purdy
being a forty nine.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
Well he'll he'll be on that Russell Wilson contract for
the next team, whatever it is. Anyway, you're that the
super cheap veteran, whatever it is anyway, so that that
portion of.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
It I'm not I'm maybe not as worried.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
About, you know, but yeah, I think you're Those are
certainly the two teams that I would look at in
terms of, uh where he would go. And I suspect,
I mean, the longer this thing drags on without paying
rock party to me, that that's that indicates that Kirk
Cousins might might be the might be the play there.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
I don't know. We got ANFL six pack. We come
back Broncos Country night.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
By the way, uh, Stacy cleared up the Devon since
Devin Bush and Devin White the linebackers, they came out
of college. We actually back to take Noah Fense, and
the Steelers came up and took Devin.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
But I don't think the're gonna be interested in either one.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Devin White is a head case and Devin Bush body
can't stay healthy. Uh So I don't think they're gonna
be interested in the one. But uh, we'll see, We'll
see what happens. And with that, let's get to the
NFL six pack.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
It's time for the NFL six pad.

Speaker 8 (16:48):
I'm going to insight insight information you can't find anywhere else.
The top six NFL headline what oh.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Over one here?

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Kronky Sports and Entertainment KOSC commonly known as the Kronki
propaganda outlet by Brian on our text line all the time,
the owner of Altitude Sports and comcasts and that it's
today that Altitude has returned to Exfinity for TV customers.
Comcast hasn't carried Altitude local broadcast the Denver Nuggets or
Colorado Avalanche game since its previous contract expired in two

(17:22):
thousand and nineteen. The Kronki KOSE did issue an apology
through Kevin Demoff, saying We're sorry every day that went
by the past year was a game too many, too
many shots, too many goals were missed by our fans.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
We took that responsibility personally.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Live game broadcast start tonight with the Avs playing at Vancouver,
and obviously they'll get that thing back going here real soon.
The comcastop carrying Altitude due to a disagreement where fees
the cable giant was charging to carry the network. The
ensuing battle has kept the Nuggets an Avalanche out of
many homes in the region for last five and a
half years, so now.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
You get to watch. So does that affect anybody? Did
anybody I that altitude plus half or pay the money
for that? Is that any good?

Speaker 8 (18:04):
You know?

Speaker 4 (18:05):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (18:05):
I'm I didn't need to. I mean I did have
direct TV at one point. Then I got fo Bo.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
That's what I just kind so I see clothing line.
So that's footbo man who started that clothing line?

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Man Bro. I got a story off air for that,
what you guys.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
But anyway, I was able to watch. I'm glad that
they are finally able to put this dog to rest.
And its been like but three years they've been going
through this.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
Five and a half, oh five, five and a half they've.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Been going through this.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
And luckily the Nuggets and fans can say thank you
someone that just still loves us, because.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
Now we can watch the game and we don't have
to go to.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Ballerina missed a couple of championship you know, it's counting
whatever its county.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
I just didn't know if this affected anybody. Something does
affect some things.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
League Baseball terminated Empire Pat Hoburg for violating the league's
gambling policy. Oberg was disciplined by the League last summer
and appealed the decision and the announcement. Yesterday, Major League
Baseball said the appeals process with Commissioner Rob Manfred, the
Umpire's Association, in accordance with the CBA, has upheld the
decision to fire Hoburg. Disciplinary action was taken due to

(19:18):
his failure to hold the integrity of the game by
sharing sports betting accounts with a professional poker player and
friend who bet on baseball and whom Hoburg should have
known bet on baseball, and due to Hoberg's intentional deletion
of text messages central to Major League Baseball's investigation into
his conduct whoout the investigation appeals process, Hobog adamantly denied
betting on baseball directly or intiate directly II through his friend,

(19:40):
and the data provided by the sports books does not
show any baseball bets from his own electronic devices. Majorally,
Baseball found no evidence that Hoburg or anyone else took
any action to manipulate the outcomes of any games. Consistent
with Rule two C, he can apply for reinstatement or
earlier than the twenty twenty six spring training.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
What do we think about this? Umpire getting po for this,
even though it was his friend quote unquote betting on
his account.

Speaker 5 (20:04):
Well, they say, show me your friends and I'll tell
you who you are. And in this case, you got
to figure everything looks kind of dark and gloomy when
you are an umpire and your buddy is betting on games, Uh,
maybe some of which that you were kind of officiating.
That goes back to something I thought when I was
a kid growing up that people tell me, well, there's

(20:26):
no way that refs kind of can control the flow
of the game. Yes they can, And this is one
of those examples. Remember the NBA a couple of years ago,
Tim Donnaye, you know, with his friends and the people
that he was associated with, and NBA tried to say
even still now, well not all the refs do it.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
We're just happened to be this particular rest egg. Yeah.
I'm just like, come on, man, really well, I.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Just think it's crazy that he can reinstate next year
and still yet Pete Rose not in the hollame.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
So livid about the Pete Rose thing.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
Manfort stick down in your pipe and smoke it.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
Yeah, that's yeah. I've been mad about that for.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Years three well, see football schedule for next year is out.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Zach Wilson's disappointed.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
They're playing two different sets of Cougars and he doesn't
get to be there for.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
It is the lead off to where on August thirtieth,
you're seeing.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
Buff take on Georgia Tech yellow Jackets most famous alumni
Nick Ferguson.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
I mean that that's great.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
What a way to slide that in the vision all
Bright frashing. But hey, listen, I will be the front
and center when Rambler reck goes to uh comes to
a boulder uh in Fulston Field.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Look, this is great. I love where.

Speaker 5 (21:53):
College football is going. I love these rivalries. I love
the intrigue, I love the build up, and I love
everything that happening.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
What to see ubus Man, Well.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
They do have a storyline.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
These two teams split the nineteen ninety national championships, so
there is something to that as well. Their next game
will be September sixth against.

Speaker 4 (22:09):
The Delaware Blue Hens.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Delaware is moving up to the FBS Subdivision in twenty
twenty five, joining Conference USA, and they take on the
Houston Cougars Wyoming Cowboys BYU Cougar's TCU Hoorn Frogs Iowa
State Cyclones, Utah Utes, Arizona Wildcats, West Virginia Mountaineers, Arizona
State Wildcats, Kansas State Wildcats. And we got three wildcats

(22:32):
and two cougars in there. I don't you know, hey, man,
Like I said, Zach Wilson missed out.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
Do you gotta do?

Speaker 5 (22:38):
But hey, if you talk, you missed you know the
nineteen ninety championship. If you talk to CEU alum, they
tried to scratch that from their record, and Sam, there's
always only one champon And I had to quickly pull
on my phone and remind the receipt.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Yes, rec what's your what's early prediction on that schedule?
Now that you're looking at it, what's the US record
next year?

Speaker 5 (22:59):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (22:59):
Man, it's I mean, and you're starting with over with
a new quarterback, and this this schedule is pretty tough.
I mean, this is I'd have to go down and
mark this thing out. But right now, as I'm working
my way backwards, I.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
Don't even have a win yet.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Wow, that's one, two, three, maybe four wins on first
glance at this.

Speaker 5 (23:19):
Well, I'm gonna hold off on Brant until I watched
the Buffs and their spring game, and these quarterbacks play
after that, then I'll be able to give you a before.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
I watched it. I'm putting four wins down, so I
guess Brian, I'll be happy four.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
The NFL Referees Association calls quotes conspiracy theories insulting and
preposterous Nick Ferguson. On Monday, Commissioner Roger Goodell push back
on the suggestion that game officials favor the Chiefs. On Tuesday,
the union representing game officials issued a statement expressing appreciation
for his remarks, saying, quote Comision Goodell's comments, uh that
it is ridiculous to presume that NFL officials are not

(23:54):
doing everything possible to make the right call on every play.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
A spot on, NFL Referees Association Executive director Scott.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Green said officiating cruise do not work the same team
more than twice each regular season.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
That's not actually true.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
There have been multiple instances of teams working three times
each season, so he's wrong there. It is insulting and
preposterous to hear conspiracy theories that somehow seventeen officiating crews
consisting of one hundred and thirty eight officials.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
Are colluding to assist one team. I completely agree with
that state that is a bit strong and does sort
of feel like we protest it by so.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
Kind of doesn't it like I'm on the album their
side here and.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
I'm kind of like, Wow, they're really or upset about this.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
That's like kissing a man who cheated twice on his
girlfriend his spouse and said that these are frivolous allegations
against me. There's no way that I'm gonna cheat again. Well,
if you cheated the first time and you cheated a
second time, guess what that makes you cheat. So all
we're doing is looking at things for what they are.
If we don't need molded Scully to kind of figure
this one out. When you just use your eyes, something

(24:55):
does not appear to be what it should be.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
But if Scully is available, she's welcome on the show anytime.
That's correct. Twice the night five, Oh, this is a
great night.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
This is this is a true moment broughcos Country in
that history. I got Nick ferguson a craze in the
same segment, Jayleen, Now I'm cracking Jayleen. Jaron Hurts is
as prepared as any quarterback can be to change coordinators
He's done it for most of his career. He was
asked if he was ready for yet another coordinator next year,

(25:31):
and he said he laughed and said, ask me a
week or so from now. Hurts, who played three years
at Alabama, wanted Oklahoma. I had a different play color
every year at the collegiate level, and Hurts his five
seasons in the NFL, Shane Steichen is the only coordinator
he had for more than one year. Ryan Johnson was
the Eagles coordinator twenty three Kellen Moore this season, and
Moore is expected to leave to become the Northern Saints
head coach next week. Hurts set up more. He's brought

(25:53):
different ideas, brought different approach. My whole vantage point has
been to learn as much as I can. I've had
different coordinators, different voice almost every year of my career.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
So, my holy prosister, that learn as much.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
As I can, take those different things in, apply them
to my game and find ways to win. The SAME's
job would be Moore's first as a head coach. He
is only thirty five with six years of coordinator experience.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
I will say this, whatever you think of Jalen Hurts,
look at how good he could be if he could
just get some consistency on offense.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
At Man's been a different coordinator every year since his
senior year of high school and with.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
One exception Shane Steichen.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
Yeah. But the thing about it is there's been a
lot of negative narratives about Jalen Hurts, but just the
fact of what you stated to talk about the resiliency
that he has as a player.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
To know that you've had that many.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
Different offensive minds with different verbiage and different calls and
adjustments that you have been able to master all of
those that continue to move forward. It says twenty twenty
and we had twenty twenty five. You're going back to
your second Super Bowl. Dell says a lot about this guy.
That is something to feather in his cap. That guy

(27:01):
has had a different offensive coordator every year.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Since the senior year of high school, with the exception
of one back to back Shane Stake and year that
is mind blowing.

Speaker 5 (27:08):
Well, that says a lot about his football accuteny.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
That's what it should say about it.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
It really does.

Speaker 3 (27:14):
Six quarterback J J.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
McCarthy's bid for.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
The Vikings quarterback job this year ended with a knee
injury he suffered the team's first preseason game.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
First round Picks.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Said on Tuesday, there was hard to be stuck as
an observer for his rookie season, McCarthy watched Donald put
together a strong season that resulted in fourteen wins on
a playoff berth created a lot of discussion about what
the Vikings will do it quarterback this offseason, but pour
outings from Donald in his last two games of the
Vikings season probably made it less likely they consider moving
on from McCarthy without ever seeing him in regular season action.

(27:46):
During an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show Brian Edwards
Mortal Enemy Richisen, McCarthy said that he hasn't heard anything
definitive in conversations with head coach Kevin O'Connell. There's a
lot of things that are certainly above my pay grade,
some things about his big grade. When it comes to
how the team will handle Donald's impending free agency, however
that plays out, McCarthy said he just wants a chance

(28:07):
to show what he can do on the field. March fourth,
course is the deadline for team to use franchise tags.
That will be the first significant milestone in terms of
what the Vikings are thinking in terms of Donald, Should the.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
Minnesota Vikings re up Sam Donald? Should they roll with J. J. McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
I think they should re up Sam Donald.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
If that is something they decide not to do, they
still can take a flyer on a guy that they
acquired late in the season, and Daniel Jones, right, who
is mobile in his own right, and all he needed
was some structure in the team that had patients, and
they had talent around him. So if they don't want
to go in that direction of re up in Sam Donald,

(28:48):
they could just do the same thing and go Sam Donald.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
Two point zero with Daniel Jones.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Yeah, I'm with you on that. Honestly, I probably would
go to Daniel Jones, right.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
I look, Jones has starting experience, He's got half a
season in this offense. You bring him in, you know,
and you have a true quarterback competition with him and
JJ McCarthy, and the best man win. Daniel Jones wins.
He's a starter of JJ wins. Well, you got a
good backup in Daniel Jones. You go from there and
you figure it out after that. But I don't know
that I bring Sam Donald back as good as he
played for about three quarters of the season.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
I don't know that I bring him back.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
Why are you saying you don't know if you bring
him back?

Speaker 3 (29:21):
Well about what costs?

Speaker 1 (29:23):
Because at the end of the day, like what Sam
Donald's gonna wants a long term commitment and you've drafted JJ,
you're not going to do that. So I don't know
that I would franchise tagging him. I mean maybe, but
if you do that, money's guaranteed franchise tag for a quarterback.

Speaker 4 (29:37):
I have to go back and look that up.

Speaker 5 (29:38):
But well, listen, we've seen this kind of ideology used before.
The Packers use it with a lot of success. So
you got JJ coming off of an injury, and that
gives him time to not try to rush himself back,
but give him an opportunity to continue to develop as
a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Well, franchise tag for the quarterbacks thirty eight it's gonna
be over thirty eight million.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
Thirty eight million last year, So it'snna be close to
forty million.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Dollars to bring Sam Donald back on a one year,
fully guaranteed, forty million dollars deal.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
Well, once once again it goes back.

Speaker 5 (30:10):
If you're Kevin O'Connell, how much faith in that short
period of time with Daie Jones, do you believe in
him or you're thinking, okay, well, when McCarthy bounces back
from his injury, he's gonna be good to go. You
have to have a safety net. And everyone talks about
starting quarterbacks until.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
You need a backup quarterback.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
Well, you know fair. But the thing about it this
is you got three quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
You only need to right so, and you know JJ's
gonna be there because he's a cost controlled rookie you
drafted in the first round that you traded up to
go get So which of the two are you keeping
Daniel Jones or Sam Donald?

Speaker 4 (30:39):
At the end of the day, Jones is going to
be cheaper.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
Well, once again, it goes back to what have you
seen from Jones in practice and Donald?

Speaker 3 (30:47):
You've seen Donald in live games. We've seen that.

Speaker 5 (30:51):
Yeah, but you still either way, whatever direction you go,
you're gonna have to add maybe another wide receiver and
fix you know, add another run back, but more employely
fake some some of some of those offensive line situations.

Speaker 4 (31:04):
Yeah, there's some.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
There's some going on on that offensive line. And don't
risers on that offensive line too?

Speaker 3 (31:09):
An he is we shall me you know, shots at him.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
No, I'm gonna takes called riser. I'm just saying.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
I mean the offensive line for the Vikings fell apart.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
It was hashtag not good.

Speaker 5 (31:21):
Yes, and and Donald's proven if you gave him a
proper protection, you can get it done.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
You get it done.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Where's he gonna end up if he's not in Minnesota?
I mean, personally, I think you gotta go. You gotta
take a look at it. Possibly the Raiders where he
would you know, if they draft your door and have him,
you gotta got the same situations last year. I really
don't know beyond that, like, where else does he fit
that would have an opening with the Rams? If if
the Rams the Niners have an opening, you gotta figure

(31:46):
they'd be in on Kirk Cousins much at a.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
Much cheaper price point.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
If the Jets haven't opening or the Giants, I don't
think the.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
Jets have, you know, are out there like what's the
band player screaming?

Speaker 4 (31:55):
Baby come back on me?

Speaker 3 (31:58):
You gotta run it back with air Aaron Rodgers, hopely
do you want to do that? So you got to
consider everything, everything is on the table at this point.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
Yeah, not fair enough, Crocos country, Tonight, rubs home, gotch
this he's holding too long. I'm
