Speaker 1 (00:00):
Nine zeros to text line text.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
I want to know if you don't pass the church plate, Nick,
they're talking about passing the money and passing the hat. Yes,
And I said, Nick, you don't pass the church plate, right,
question mark, why do pass.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
The church plate?

Speaker 3 (00:11):
I mean, that would be selfish for me to just
kind of keep it to myself.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
I'm gonna tell it myself for something horrible here. So
and we'll get to Patrick Yota here in just a second.
I know he's on the coming SPA hotline. We'll go
get to that in just a second. When my little
brother and I were like when we were you know,
when we were in church or whatever back in the day.
And I say back in the day, I mean this
was the nineties. I guess whatever we were in church,
we would they'd be passing the plate around or whatever,

(00:36):
and they had those you know, they get the little
envelopes you put the money in the envelope, right, we
would write on the outside of the envelope like famous
millionaire names and put nothing in the envelope looks to
be like William Gates and put that, you know, Warren Buffets,
and then just put that empty envelope in the plate
with nothing with nothing in nick because we're terrible, terrible kids.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
That's it sounds like a young basemin or brightening to me.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Well, dad, let's go up the kaway comes for the
hot line and bring on Patrick Yote Patrick.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
How you doing buddy?

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Oh my god, that story has me rolling.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
That sounds exactly like something Benjamin Albright would do exactly.
That's that's hilarious.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
I've been a terrible person of my entire life.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
As a as a as a former church kid, myself
can confirm that that is probably the most tempting time
for a child in church. I'm doing pretty well, man,
you know, just out here thriving in the in the
Pacific Northwest and maybe gonna see our first snow of
the season tomorrow. I don't know, we'll see, but I'm

(01:35):
doing pretty well.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
We got all we got a little bit of snow
out here.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
It's been bitter cold here, so you're welcome to have
some of that taken away from from us.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
We Broncos conclude the season.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
I think the needs for this team are fairly obvious,
but the question is whether free agency or the draft.
And while most fans that I run into bang the
table for wanting a pricey receiver.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
I do not.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
I want the Broncos to invest heavily at the tight
end position. Move a lay to the action. Nick disagrees
with you on that, and invest draft picks in the
running back position, the tight end position, maybe a draft
tack in the receiver position. And then of course we
have needs on the defensive side too, a free safety,
inside back or maybe another defensive lineman. How do you
see the needs and how would you allocate resources?

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Yeah, it's this draft class to me is just too
rich at a couple of positions, you know, the tight
end and running back positions specifically that It's like if
you're if you're not going to do anything in free agency,
or you're gonna spend that money elsewhere, you know, like
on the defensive side, then maybe you could double dip.

(02:43):
I think that I think the big need. Uh, let's
start with the offensive side, right, I think obviously the
biggest need is uh, tight end.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
And running back.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
The tight end room just not doing enough right. Adam
Trauman is a fine blocker, but he's not a world
beater tight end. He's not a good after the catch guy.
You know, Nate Atkins is fine in blocking, and he
can really help in the run game, and he had
a cut. I think he's a decent red zone threat

(03:14):
as far as the receiver goes. But again, not a
guy who's who is going to be a world beater
against defenses. And then Lucas Kroll the best player on
this Broncos roster. I just I find it tough, like
he still needs a ton of development. So I think
with this class being so deep at tight end, you

(03:34):
could go get one, maybe two guys in that area.
And then at running back, they really just need anybody else,
anybody else in that room.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Like, give me somebody who.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Can who can break tackles after two yards and and
get more than three yards to carry. Just just give
me anybody else. I think that this class is too talented.
I'm not The free agent class for running backs is
not sexy to me. I don't see anybody worth really
throwing any money at. You know, maybe like a Ty

(04:07):
Johnson on a small deal, but who knows what's going
to happen there, So it'd be wiser for us to
spend that capital in the draft. Maybe there's a free
agent tight end that Sean Payton Lank's out there. You know,
I've seen Juwan Johnson getting amed. I think that would
be a fine fit, but you're probably going to have

(04:27):
to compete. I've seen get SICKI get gotten thrown out
a couple of times. I don't know how I would
feel about that. So I think you're better off finding
somebody in the draft, maybe one or two guys that
you can bring in on the defensive side. Man, there's
some backers out there that you could definitely pay. There's
some linemen out there that you could definitely pay. But
this draft is also deep at the defensive line position.

(04:49):
I think that they probably spend that first round pick
on a defensive lineman, especially seeing what happened in the
Super Bowl. You got to play that team two times
a year, and now you have the blueprint to beat
the I think that's going to be where they're looking
to spend that big, rich capital. But linebacker, you can
maybe find a free agent out there. Safety, Hey, Javon

(05:12):
Hollins a free agent. You could probably throw some money
at him, pair him back up with Brandon Jones. I
think that's a pretty exciting time. But there's some other
options out there as well, and there's some sleepers in
this draft last two. I wouldn't be surprised if they
spend a pick at the defensive back position or linebacker position.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Honestly, too, say.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
For me, you're speaking, you know true tomorrow hard talking
about defense, because as we've saw, we've seen in multiple games,
regular season games, even the Super Bowl is a cliche saying.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
But it is true.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Defense still wins championship. But I look at it from
the standpoint I'm telling Ben earlier that the Broccos are
in a nice little sweet spot. They're now watching themselves
clean the money they owe Russell, and they have the
quarterback in both Nix and he's on a rooky deal.
So this is the opportunity for them to go out
there and kind of put some pieces together and make

(06:03):
a splash. But when you think about, you know, offense,
So Broncos is sitting at twentieth right now, would you
be in a frame of mind if you and George Payden,
you know, moving up and giving up draft capital or
moving back to acquire more draft capital would make this
team better.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
Man, It's interesting. I think it would. It would definitely
depend on how the board fell, right. There's certainly arguments
to trade back from twenty. You know, maybe there's uh,
maybe there's gonna be some team that's getting hungry for, uh,
for an offensive lineman, which I mean, this class isn't
really super exciting for me. But you know, maybe there's

(06:41):
a team who's looking to move up and you can
collect some extra picks. I mean, we know that Georg
Payton is gonna is gonna want some of those extra picks.
But there's also the argument where it's like, well, if
Ashton Jamie is falling and he falls into a range
where you know, maybe they can they don't have to
give up too much in a trade up, Or if

(07:02):
Tyler Warren is falling and they don't have to give
up too much to go get him. I could definitely
see that playing out. But I think for me, it's
definitely how the board falls. We have no idea until
draft day how things are going to go. I wouldn't
hate a move up, it would just depend on the price.
I would also not hate a move down because you
get those extra picks, and we know that they're just

(07:25):
going to keep wanting to look for more talent. The
more picks that they have, the more guys that they
can bring in that they actually like from their board,
So I kind of see.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Both sides of it.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
George Peyton has certainly shown a propensity for being willing
to move back, be patient, and multiply pick Sean Peyton
has not exactly you know, had that philosophy in the past.
It'll be interesting to see, especially in a draft like this,
which is, you know, like I said, top heavy at
the first you know, ten picks, and then it's fat
in the middle after the first ten pictures. So you're
not getting much difference in value between pick twelve and

(07:56):
pick you know, seventy or eighty In terms of talent.
Is there anybody that you've watched so far as it
just jumps out at you.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
You you you scream and jumping up and down.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
I mean, you know, on the table, gotta have this guy,
whether it's for Denver or just just in general. I
mean for me, you know, looking at the only walker
out of Kentucky, I don't know that Denver necessarily is
the best fit. We all said and done, but that
guy is he's big, he's fast, and that you know,
the pad levels a little high, but you can coach
that down.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
He could be something special in the league. Yeah, I man, he.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Is fun to watch, right he Like we we saw,
you know, Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter in the Super
Bowl just absolute world wreckords.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
You know those guys are just big, athletic freaks. Does
does Walker kind of fit that role? Well, he's massive
and he's got long farms, so uh, he could definitely
be a problem. But for me specifically, I saw your
tweet yesterday, Ben, You like a lot of those Oregon players,
I share that same sentiment.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Being a duck guy myself.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
But if I was gonna pound the table for anybody,
I know it's not I know it's not beautiful. I
know it's not what Broncos fans want to hear necessarily.
But uh, the wide receiver Jaden Higgins from uh from
Iowa State, My god. I I have been watching this
dude since since like October, and I'm just like, how

(09:15):
is this guy this big, moving this fast? His routes
are clean, his release is clean, great after the catch,
contested catch. Guy like this is everything that you would
want in a receiver, in a receiver prospect, I just like,
is this guy a first rounder? I don't know, but
he's someone that you know, if me personally, if I'm

(09:38):
in the draft room, he's one of my higher guys
at the wide receiver position. I think that he's just
an absolute freak. McMillan from Arizona is fun to watch.
I think that he'll be one of the top receivers
done in this class. But man, you're gonna you're gonna
have a tough time convincing me that there's a better
overall wide receiver in this class than Higgins. I absolutely

(09:59):
love see.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
When I think about, you know, NFL roster, especially at
the wide receiver position, I'm trying to expand my vision
and look for so many guys because everyone is looking
for wide receiver one, and we know that's not the
only guy that you need to build out your offense
because if those guys are not starting, you know, week
one or you know, for the first six weeks, because

(10:23):
it's always tough for rookie wide receivers a rookies period
to understand a very complex system. But for me, you
need those guys to play on special team as well.
So for me and I want to get your take
on this, But I like Ristrepo from the University.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Of Miami he one hundred ninety eight guy.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
But when you watch him play man, he is like
the perfect guy to play that slot position. And I
hate to make this generalization, but when I see him,
I think about what you know.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Danny Mdola was right, Julian Elderman, that.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Guy who can find an open spot and he can
run after catch.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
I mean when you look at him, do you look
at him the same way?

Speaker 4 (11:03):
Yeah, I've actually really enjoyed watching him. He always popped.
He popped out when I was watching a arroyo. You know,
he's a guy like the speed isn't necessarily going to
be an issue for me. You know, explosiveness off the
line isn't going to be an issue with me. This
dude runs really clean routes. He knows how to get
open knows how to get separation wins from the spot

(11:27):
a ton, which is exactly what you want from that,
you know, f receiver, you know whatever. The terminology is
going to be for a guy like Sean Payton, but
he's also going to be nick Like you said, the
special teams guy like he will go down, go down
there on kick return or on kickoff and try to

(11:48):
make a play. He will go down there on punt
and try to make a play like he will do
those things because that's that's how you went a roster spot, right, Like,
even as a second round pick or third round pick,
you got to be able to work on special teams.
I think that he would be a fun ad absolutely,
and he's shown that he can win in the red
zone as well. Uh for a guy his size, and

(12:11):
I saw Marvin Mins do a lot of this in
college too, but for a guy his size being able
to make contest attentions the way that he does, it's
really really impressive. So I like Withstrepo. I think that's
a that's a good.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Guy to keep an eye out for.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
I do like him as well, though I have a
different favorite here that's not being talked about it.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
That's Jalen Royals out of Utah State. He is he
can absolutely fly. Amen.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
Yeah, he's a fun watch dude. That this receiver class dude.
I think that a lot of people went into this,
you know, the pre college season kind of thinking like, Okay,
there it's gonna be McMillan, and then uh is is
uh is Hunter going to be?

Speaker 3 (12:56):
You know?

Speaker 4 (12:56):
Is he going to be considered a wide receiver? Outside
of that, this class isn't that great, And now all
of a sudden it's like, well, damn, there's like twenty
twenty five guys that are legit dudes in this class
that could really make a difference. And I think Royle
could be a really fun option. I've seen the Tesz
Johnson stuff as well. He's really fun, y'all. But man,

(13:17):
that size, the size concerns absolutely worry me.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
There's I was.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
There was another one, the other Iowa state receiver. I
think it's Noel. He's a lot of fun to watch too. Like,
there's there's so many guys in this class that if
the Broncos don't take in, Yeah, there's at Buca and
and Burden as well that are probably going to be
first round guys. Jack Beck the other. I think it's

(13:47):
saving on Taylor.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
I'm a huge fan.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
Yeah, And I mean his his and tested catch rate
is absolutely insane.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
There's a lot of dudes in this class that are
really really fun. So it's like, if we don't take
one at twenty, don't fret. There's still gonna be other
options down the road, and they could probably get a
really really good receiver in third, fourth, round area. I
think that there's just so much talent in this class.
They don't have to worry about getting a guy with

(14:18):
that twentieth pick and then you know, making him the
day one.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Starter really really quickly, because we have a couple of
minutes remaining in the segment. But I mean, you just
brought up something about the size of teded Johnson. See
he's five ten, one sixty five. Yeah, and when you
said that, Amelia thought of DeVante Smith, who is six
feet one hundred and seventy pounds. So I'm like, okay, well,
we've seen him make the transition, and we also in

(14:45):
the pre drive process there was.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Like, oh he's too small, slim reaper. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
I also going to say sh real quick though, he
weighed one fifty eight down there.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
The senior bowlt has it one fifty eight.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
If I outweigh you by fifteen pounds, you gotta be
stupid fast.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Well, yeah, listen, you.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Tell me what you think, because I'm thinking, we constantly
hear about the size of a guy, you're too small. Well,
we see other guys of kind of equal size continue
to still make plays in the league.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
I mean there's also the Tank Dells of the world
right like where the size is definitely a concern, but
can he win at the line of scrimmage? I think
Tedes can definitely win. Can he win against the likes
of like a PS two or even like a Jalen Ramsey,
Now I don't know about that, but I think he

(15:33):
can still win in certain situations. It's just is he
going to have the longevity? Is he going to have
the durability? Because we've we've yes, we've seen Devonte Smith win.
I think Devontae Smith is a little different in my opinion.
I think that he is a guy who was winning
outside at Alabama and he proved that, you know, put

(15:53):
those size concerns to rest when he got into the league.
But I think for Tes it's like, is he he's
going to be a flat guy? Probably primarily he's not
going to play like the zy like Tank Dell did.
But can he can he stay healthy in the league?
Can he take those big hits because he's there's been
a couple of times, especially this last season, where he

(16:14):
took a couple of shots and he was slow to
get up and he missed some time. So those concerns
are always there, and I think like Ben said, him
winging at one.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Fifty eight was a surprise.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
He did great at the Senior Bowl still, but those
those things are always going to linger, you know. So
I think if there's a team out there that definitely
believes in him and believes in his durability, believes in
his longevity, thinks that he could play an important role
in their offense, I'm sure he'll He'll go somewhere, you know,
maybe Denver, who knows it wouldn't be my pick, but

(16:46):
I'm not the guy making the call.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
So well, we got we got to run here. But
I'll give you a surprise name. You know, people talk
about the joker roll down here all the time. Rashan Owens,
the wide receiver out of Oklahoma State at six to pounds,
can run the ball out of the backfield, can be
can be a haw set out wide as well, and
you know, even at that size might even give you
a little h back tight end versatility as well.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
So stop me, keep your eye Patrick. We appreciate it
as always.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
Brother, always man a don't forget too high, man too high.
I can't wait to come out there and play some
ball with y'all soon.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Let's do it. Let's do it.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Patrick Kyote, I was appreciate the time we get a break.
NFL six pack, we come back.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
Thanks to Patrick Coyote, Jake Keeps for joining us in
the last couple of hours. You missed a part of that.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
You got to Brocos Country dot Com, slash podcast or
wherever each podcast, Apple, iTunes, Spotify, So let free it
awesome and redesigned iHeartRadio app Neil didn't nail it?

Speaker 1 (17:48):
H what do you can get to take you for
granted podcast? As well? With that, it's time for the
NFL six pack. It's time for the NFL six path.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
I'm gonna tread the last year in insight information you
can't find anywhere else. I know six the top six
NFL headline.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
What first up for you here?

Speaker 5 (18:12):
Travis Kelcey said on his New Heights podcast that he's
going to take some time to decide whether or not
he's going to be coming back for the twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Five NFL season.

Speaker 5 (18:22):
Do you think Travis Kelsey returns and if so, do
you think there's any chance the Chiefs move off of
him and his twenty million dollar captain.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
I do not believe he comes back.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
I believe the Chiefs will use that money to bring
in Cooper Cup And yeah, I don't believe he's coming
back at all.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Is he coming back?

Speaker 3 (18:40):
I mean, Travis Kelsey is and one of the best
situations he can't be for a guy who is obviously
slowing down from a player's standpoint, he can come back
and play, and I'm sure Andy Reid and Trator Mahomes
will welcome him back. And the whole idea is that
he doesn't really have to do that. He's pretty much
said we're doing movie stuff and television doing game shows

(19:03):
that he really doesn't have to do that.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
So if I'm him, I'm going to.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Take an assessment of how my body feels, and then
from that then my body would determine how much I'm
gonna miss with the game. Because he's got like some
Super Bowl rings, So I say, no, shouldn't deduces it.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
I'm out my mind. Just tell him I no, yes,
I'm out.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
Two.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
Going to the other side of the couple here, the
I don't know Hollywood couple. Regarding t Swift, Saquon said
at the Super Bowl, we're trying to get we're trying
to expand the game and her being a part of
it is only helping the game. I don't get the
dislike she's getting. Do you agree with Saquon's stance on

(19:47):
Taylor Swift being a positive presence for the growth of
the game, or or being a positive presence because.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Of her potential to grow the game rather? Yeah? I
mean it exposes new people of football, right. It exposed
a whole new group of people who.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Even if they are only tangentially interested, Are you interested?
I don't see a negative or downside of that. Do
they cut to her too much? Turning the game shore?

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Do I care?

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Not?

Speaker 1 (20:07):
Really? You know, I mean, what's the downside here? What
are people? Is there a group of people claiming this
is bad? I think so? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (20:16):
I mean did you see the Super Bowl when they
showed on a drummatron and people who actually booed?

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Yeah, there's a large number.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
Of fans from different fan bases who doesn't who don't
like the idea.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
And I know you say, what doesn't bother you?

Speaker 3 (20:30):
But you are well aware of the fact that they
show her too much on television?

Speaker 1 (20:35):
Right?

Speaker 3 (20:35):
This is like seeing a movie trailer that you've seen
so many times You're like, God, I can't wait till
the movie.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Come, oh, I'm sorry, I've seen the movie already because
they show all the good parts in the trailer.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
But I mean there are ostensibly young women tuned in
to see her as well.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
I mean, wait, but the.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Larger portions of your audience isn't tuned in to see her.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
They're tuned in to see the game. When the game
is on NBC.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
You could Mike to Rico was thrown to the skybox
showhards like, no, I want to see what's having on.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Third and one.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Well, when they first started, I mean, there was a
thing whether or not she was gonna come out here
to Denver like there were you know, I mean it
was it moves the needle.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
You know, And so that that's the thing I know.
I'm not I don't know, I'm not a post. I mean,
as long as you're not cutting away.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
From action to go see cut away from then that's
on the station for doing it.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
I don't think that's on Taylor Swift.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
She's not like, come to me cameras while this play
is occurring.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
You know, that's on that's on the production crew there.
But I you know, my advice would be, don't don't
cut to it during the action.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
But other than that, I care, yeah, get get a
little extra fan base off some people of wanting to
tune in for Taylor Swift to your point, then they've
moves the needle.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
Sorry.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
Ohio State has landed on a new defensive coordinator. Matt
Patricia is headed to Columbus to be their new DC.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Does this make you feel more or.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
Less confident in the chances of repeating as national champions?

Speaker 1 (22:03):
It didn't make me feel more. I'll say that.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
The last time we saw Matt Patricia trying to be
a defensive coordinator was with that Eagle Sean de Simes,
which got Vic Fangio hired the first place, and then
we saw what happened. His head coaching tenure was a
failure at thirteen and twenty nine and one.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
What is he?

Speaker 2 (22:24):
What has he actually done besides work for Bill Belichick?

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Well, this may be a great avenue for Matt Patricia
to now take all his football pro wisdom to the
college game. And I think if you are Ryan Day,
you're saying, Okay, well, my defense isn't my biggest concern.
It is losing Chip Kelly. Right, where's the offense going
to go from this? Viewpoint. But I think Patricia's going

(22:52):
to do a decent job. I mean, this may be
as will helps in the place that he needs to
be a college football where he has a little more
control over the college game the opposed to what he
had coaching the pro level.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
Maybe I just I mean, it's a name. At this point.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
The Matt Patricia thing is a brand name because he's
Matt Patricia. But I don't know if the legend of
Matt Patricia outpaces.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
The production of Matt Patricia.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
When was the last time that Patricia was in college
was back at what syrah Use when he was an
offensive grant assist.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
For three years?

Speaker 5 (23:26):
And when was the last time he, you know, had
a oversaw a good side of the football without being
under Bill Belichick. You know, I feel like all his
recent successes have been working under Bill Belichie, that's all.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
He's ever done.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
But this aligns perfectly for him because we know that
Ohio State is always stuck with talent, and it's like, dude,
if you can't make it with that team, it's just like,
I mean.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
What are we doing? Yeah? I had done move the
needle for me, and it makes me less confident in
Ohio State or.

Speaker 5 (23:58):
CBS, at least their rankings of the sorry release the
rankings of the top one hundred NFL free agents for
this upcoming cycle. Sam Donald is a top the list,
followed by T Higgins and Josh Sweat.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Do you agree with that group three at the top
of the list all.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
I would not say Sam Donald is the top free agent,
John Josh Sweat.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
I would.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
I would say Tray Smith probably belongs in there, man,
Chris Godwin somewhere in there, Will Fries. There's several names
in there, especially in the offensive line there that I
think would belong in there.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
So you have Donald but not top the list, although
he probably will top the.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
Money because he's a quarterback with whatever the Raiders pays.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
Well, I'm gonna say I'm not really indifferent to the
list because think about what it is that we know
when you look at the quarterbacks coming on this year's draft,
it's not highly touted, right, I mean, you got your door,
you have Cam Moore, and every team is not every team,
but there are some teams that are need of quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
The Jets need a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
You think about the Saints, mckelam Moore now on their
head coach. They need a quarterback. The Raiders need a quarterback.
So when you talk about a guy being coveted because
the quarterback is propped up on the pedestal, you have
to think about it and say, wait, but yeah, you
can't be.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Wrong with Sam Donald. And let's be totally honest.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Sam Donald had an excellent season now tabled off towards
the back end of the season because the Bikings could
run the ball and they couldn't block to save their lives.
So I understand why you got a quarterback. You got
to Andrew Rusher, you have a wide receiver.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
He's the same.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Three positions teams are going to be looking for in
the upcoming draft. So I understand why the list you're
providing is the way that it is.

Speaker 5 (25:41):
And with it tapering off, I mean, where do you
think Ben I mean you probably don't. Where do you
think his dollar value falls now when he entries free agency?

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Donald, I mean, he's a quarterback. He's gonna get paid
thirty forty million dollars. I guess it doesn't matter what,
It doesn't matter what.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Uh, you know, that's the going that's the market rate.
The market rates at Margaret rate. It doesn't matter what
you think is value is valued with somebody will pay
for it. You get a starting quarterback in the NFL
right now, you're going to pay him thirty million so minimum,
and I suspect we'll be closer to forty.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
See, I can't go into a store and say I
want to buy this Martinelli's for you know, like forty cents.
They'll be like, no, it's a dollar thirty cents. So
if you want it, you paid for it. It's the
same thing when it comes to quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
What Martinelli's you getting for a dollar thirty I just
tossed the brandom So can I remember that gallon I
brought in? It was amount a dollar five man? Martinelli's
keeps coming up.

Speaker 5 (26:34):
Bengals linebacker Jermaine Pratt has requested officially requested a trade today.
Talking a lot about the wide receivers on the trade market.
Should the Broncos look into a Jermaine Pratt or some
other veteran linebacker as a means of solving their linebacker problems.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
I mean, you got to look at the market and
see what you can get. But the reality is, if
you're a linebacker who got released, you're probably over the hill,
you're probably not very good going away from the football.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
Which in this scheme, I mean, you got to have
one of.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
The linebackers they can stay with a tight end if
Singleton comes back, you know, But that feels like a
cap casualty kind of situation to me. I love Jermaine
Pratt the player, always have ever since he came out.
I don't know that I want Jermaine Pratt the price
tag because he's the last year of his deal and
you're gonna have to pay him after one year. I
suspect he winds up in Atlanta with his former defensive
coordinator lou and Romo and they can make Ellis an

(27:28):
edge rusher out of there, since he was one of
the more productive pass rushers that they had this past year.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Well, I think at this point, you know, a lot
of players are feeling as though they have outplayed their
contract and they feel.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
As though they deserve more.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
And I'm all four players being able to do that,
but in certain situations it may not be ideal depending
on where the team is with guys who are sensible
that they can go to at your particular position. So
this is gonna be interesting, storry to see how it
plays out, because sometimes when players do this.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
It's kind of a bluff game, right, I've.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Never played cards before, but it's like, you know, you're
bluffing with your hand seeing if an organization is going
to move to give you a little more money.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
But sometimes they don't. You've never played cards before? No ever?

Speaker 3 (28:15):
Well, I mean, I mean I played goldfish before. Never
play spades. No, I don't know how to play space.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
Real quickly, I might be the only African American person
in the United States that doesn't not play.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
I'm not saying I'm a stereotype.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
And I was just asked, well, no, I'm just being
I blu I no dominoes spades.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
No I'm play dominoes. Oh man, I break the bone,
You're I'm just saying, man, we needed to bring some
cards a lock table. You don't want to do that.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
Thank you? Money six.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
All right, last one for you here.

Speaker 5 (28:47):
The Denver Broncos have the fourteenth best odds right now
to win Super Bowl sixty at plus thirty five hundred
or thirty five to one.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
The Eagles at plus six hundred are the favorites, followed
by the Chief Spills, Ravens at plus seven hundred and
the Lions in fifth at plus nine hundred, and then
there's a drop down to the Commanders at plus fifteen hundred.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
Is the sixth team?

Speaker 5 (29:09):
Does anything about these early Super Bowl sixty odds surprising?

Speaker 2 (29:13):
I looked at some of these yesterday, and the initial
that's funny because they leaked a wrong line for Denver
at first because the original line was plus eighteen hundred.
They got leaked, so I don't know what changed with
that or if that was a mistake because they were
tied with the Rams, I believe so that. Yeah, again
I don't know if that was a mistake, bad line, whatever,
But anyway, so that.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Has gone to being the longer odds.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
Now, we went with this yesterday, the longest odds for me,
that looked even feasible with something like maybe Dallas, I
don't think.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
I don't know that.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
I bet the Broncos to win the Super Bowl next year,
make the playoffs, sure, although you know the division, man,
it's could be tough. Yeah, the Dallas thing, what are
they at thirty was thirty two hundred something like that.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
I have to go back and look. That felt like one.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
I mean I don't believe Dallas gonna make the super Bowl,
but out of the long odds, that.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Felt like the most realistic option.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
I have done at plus sixty five hundred here, which
has done pretty far. Back around to the Seahawks, Steelers, Dolphins, Falcons,
and Cardinals, they're type.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
With Yeah, I mean, you know the Steelers that range
that feels like, I mean, I don't think the Steel's
gonna make the super Bowl, but of those teams that
would be considered long shots, those feel like the ones.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
See, this is excellent conversation for the offseason, but I
think it is too premature to even talk about those
numbers because we haven't seen what the Broncos are going
to do a free agency and the draft hasn't even
taken place. Now, after those two things taking place, if
you want to revisit that and say, okay, but what
does it look like based on the team being built out,
maybe we then can have the conversation. But still at

(30:44):
that point it is still hypothetical. But like Ben said,
for me, at this particular point, without any of those
two things taking place, I think the best shot for
the Broncos is kind of not just getting to the playoffs,
because that standard has been set, it is now advancing
to the second round of the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (31:01):
Any of those jumping out of you, Yeah, I like
the Steelers one to kind of your idea there. I mean,
this is a good team. They consistently win a lot
in the regular season. They've got a head coach that's
been there before. I know they keep kind of crapping
out in the first round recently. But if they figure
out the quarterback. To your point, Nick, we haven't seen
those two big stages of team building in you know,

(31:24):
the offseason. Maybe they can turn it around at quarterback
and make themselves a real Super Bowl contender.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
Anything is liable and can happen, and this is why
they call it the off season.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
There was some questions today I got from some people
about the possibility of Matt Stafford joining the New York Giants,
which would seem ridiculous on its outset. But Stafford's brother
in law is employed there by the Giants now, and
so I think people are trying to connect dots. I've
had Matt Stafford. I'm not going to the New York
Giants to end my career. I mean, that's that just
seems like a way, especially with that offensive line. But

(31:57):
you got a whole offensive line, but I mean a
whole offseas to put together an offensive line.

Speaker 5 (32:01):
What about I mean, what about the Steelers, the team
we were just talking about. Do you think there could
be anything there? They need a quarterback? Maybe a win
now situation.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
O hee.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
That would be a better place for a guy like
Matthew Stafford based on his experience.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
But here's the problem with that.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
If you Mike Tomlin and you're the Ruiney family, all
you doing is Risen repeating the same formula. I mean,
something that the Broncos used to do for years, get
quarterbacks from other teams and without developing their own. Now
and me have to show that they can develop another
quarterback after Ben Roethlisberger.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Also, the Steelers have forty million in cap space, and
Stafford would eat every penny of that up with that signing. Also,
you're going to if you're ear at Stafford, are you
going to play in an Arthur Smith offense?

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (32:44):
That might not be the smoothest translation, especially after we've
seen him really thrive in this McVeigh style.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
Yeah, I mean, if anything, I mean, I'm staying right.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
If anything, you feel like, you know, if you're gonna
be a bridge, go go draft a guy and then
put Stafford in there.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Is your bridge. That felt like, you know, that felt
realistic to me.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
Well, I'd say for him, if he can't stay with
the Rams, go ahead and do it.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
But don't go to a team that you know.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
You know you're gonna get beat upright, And if it's
the final years of three years of your career, you
want to make sure you come out of it as
healthy as you can.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Last thing you want to do is in your career
on your back, you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (33:19):
Like just over and over your dad, your kids asking
your dad, why does your back of your jersey has
so many grass.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Days over it?

Speaker 4 (33:27):
Dad?

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Why does your spine look like a question mark? What's
going on? Why is your why is your face mass
twisted that way?

Speaker 4 (33:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (33:35):
To me, if you're Matt Stafford, to me, it feels like,
you know, Rams are bust.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
There's a scenario I guess where maybe you wind up
on one of these other teams.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
If you know, if you feel like you get they
got some juice and you've got some juice, you know,
getting back there.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
But I don't know how you make that work, especially
with the money too.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
Like Matt Stafford just commands a rather hefty payday.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
Unless you take a pay cut, and you're taking a
pay cut. Hell no, I think And I'll see tomorrow
at the regular price Broncos. Country Dad rolls on
