Speaker 1 (00:00):
Uh, several people weighing in on movies that make them cry.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Somebody's I've never heard of. Let's get into that Nick
over there.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
They call him stone wall Ferguson because he has a
heart of stone.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Apparently. Uh, you know, we used to say I was
used to say I was the gritch, I'm the jerk
on this show. But apparently Nick doesn't cry him. How
does that make me a grinch or a jerk? I
just thought you'd be more in touch with your emotions.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Man.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yeah, it's like secretized swimmers. Uh.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
But but no, I mean full transparency. Even in my
dating history, women that I dated would say this about me.
I'm not a yelling I'm not a screamer. I don't
cheat on people who I'm with. But what I've been
I've been criticized for being or not showing closed off.

(00:47):
Yes enough emotions, not fair enough. We'll find a movie
that's gonna make you cry. This this is our this
is our mission now.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yeah, we got listener's like eight below you remember, No,
I don't know if you guys rememb that way.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
That's the Paul Walker movie The Dogs, The Dogs. Oh
yeah yeah, when actually it was an old, old Buck
or Old Jack. I think you know what kind of
kind of gives up anything.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
With a dog and a dog's death, that's gonna get
me crying.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Oh Yellow he was, I am legend, he was, I
am legend.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
That would have get you. Listen.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
There are movies that pulled at my heartstrings, but they
never really got me.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Like The Notebook. Yeah, I didn't cry the Notebook or anything.
And I find that one, well, we.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Know why you didn't cry, because you know you don't
like love. But that one almost got me in once again.
I saw that movie with my wife when I was
dating her.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
That was like the first rom com.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Well not rom com because that's there's a drama, but
that was kind of the first movie we saw together.
And I was like, oh man, that that I got
the taken of feeling heart strings. Yes, like like Spider Man,
you know the people, Yes, but but but I didn't.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Uh, I didn't cry. I didn't cry. I didn't I
didn't have any emotion for the Notebook.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
But there Yeah, there's been a few like that, somebody's movies.
Somebody asked if The Fox and Hounds made me cry.
I'm a fox, I'm a I don't know yeah, I
totally balled like a babe on that one.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Greater. I don't know that movie, Greater Something for Joey.
I've never heard that movie either.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
What about Bamby, Well Brian's song, Oh Brian, Yeah, that
what I got.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
But the other two I hadn't heard of. Babby.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Yeah, I didn't cry for Bamby. I think I guess
that I grew up in like hunting cultures. I didn't really,
you know, I was like, oh, well, that dear should
have been.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
There, just meeting the freezer.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Yes, I don't know what you're talking about it. I'm
trying to movies. Maybe me cry men like I for
really the one I vividly remembers I am Sam because
I was just I mean, I was just bawling, like
a yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
What what's what's uh?

Speaker 3 (02:57):
What was the Tom Cruise movie with uh?

Speaker 2 (03:01):
God, dude, if you say cocktail right now? No, no.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Mission, impossible, no remember character and Tropic Thunder.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
When he said his brother was like a Jeane like
he was always called him.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I don't even think that's the most emotional Tom Cruise movie.
I think Far and Away was the one where you
you kind of get emotional, but that's the woman Nicole
kit Remember they break in the house and then you know,
and because they're starvings and they breaking houns for food,
they get caught. But then they get separated because he
has to run and she gets hurt whatever else.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
And so yeah, son, no ray Man.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
His brother right, his brothers now got to leave and
he just finally got the chance and hang with his brother.
I mean, he kind of extored his brother for his brilliance.
Then the visitor came around, and then he lost his brother.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Get you know what other show that made me cry
recently that one about the there was a video game
it's on.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
A Yeah, that's that's oh man, that's an emotional The
Ron Swanson episode.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
I Haven't had You gotta watch that one. Have a
box of kleenexhot stand by for that episode. Though. It's like,
it seems like it's like The Walking Dead because all the.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Characters you kind of fall in love with and the
Walking Dead somehow.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Yeah, this is sort of like that, but it's not.
I mean, because there's a video game. Least Us was
a video game. It's a great video game, but they
turned it in. They were real faithful with the adaptation
on the show and man.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Or a scene with the brother I don't want to
spoil on anything. I don't know the scene with the brothers.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Yeah, yeah, boy, there's some Yeah, that's one of those ones.
Don't have to don't watch it with the kids. See
that basically what you're telling me.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
See if and I've seen a lot of zombie type movies, huh,
you know walking Dead?

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Yeah, this is way more emotional punch than the Walking Dead. Okay,
well see then you kind of set it up. You
talk about two brothers.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
I mean, somehow someone's gonna end up missing, maybe right
because one brother survives, one is a zombie.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Maybe one brother's teachures near the onserve. The reunited good
people they got back together. Yeah, tough time before, says
Wally Wiley. I remember that animated movie.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Yeah, because remember and he's like, you know, I never
leaves and he's all alone there again, and you know,
you're just.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Come on, we're gonna talking animated movies up. Yeah, if
you don't cry or that, you know, if you don't
get choked up.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
What was that His wife's name was Millie or something.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Like that, Ellie, Ellie. Listen.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
It did get me right, but then I came around
because the old guy character, he was so funny, and
then the little kid was hilarious to as well.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Well, yeah it was bake. That movie is so good
because he got the best of both, like got you
know it, got it listen, man, it really got me
really really close.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
It was like right there because they sow the flashbacks
with Ellie and all of that stuff. And then eventually
I was like, okay, but no waterworks.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yeah no I didn't.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
I'm trying to think of some other movies that people were, uh,
we're just saying that they cry for, Like some people
say Forrest Gump.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
That never I never cried for Forrest Gump. You know,
well the Green Mile? Did people get choked? You know
the Green Mile? You remember that? Yeah, that one choked
me up.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Yeah, that woe gets you, especially when I hope you
guys seen The Green Mile if.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
You have it so only came out nineteen ninety nine.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
I can understand the Green Mile because everyone's around him
and in that particular moment, and he had saved so
many people, right, So say coffee.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Right, yeah, coffee as well dream Clark Duncan, Yes.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Yes, yeah, because some people you know there was people
that like Forrest Gump, which not really are Titanic. Now stop,
there was room on the door. Shidler's list gets some
people though a little bit different type of uh sadness there.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
I'm just reading off some of these. Yeah, I guess
I could see that because.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
The pursuit of happiness Joe ways with the Will Smith movie. Oh,
that's a crier based on a based on a true story.
That's a that's a good one. That's a good one.
So yeah, there's just there's a few of the you said,
I thought, uh and here some people somebody said Steel Magnolia's.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
That would not really that didn't really do it for me.
Tell you what it is. The Faultner Stars though, boy, yeah,
talk about it. That one got me.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
My wife made me watch that a couple years ago
because I had never seen it.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
The fault in Our Stars? Great, the fault in our Stars?
Who's in that?

Speaker 1 (07:13):
What's the what's his name? I've never been to Cordon Levitt? Okay,
is that is that the guy? I'm trying to think
of the guy's name.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
That may that might be wrong. I get all those
guys confused.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
ANTL L Gort that's yeah, I just get all this,
get all those guys confused and Aaron Rodgers ex girlfriend.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Yeah, Chaylene Woodley Wood. That's right. Maybe I need to
expec in that movie too, every movie.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
He's maybe I need to expand my movie taste because
I'm watching stuff like boon Dock Saints.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Well, I mean I like the boon Docks. Although those
sequels were terrible. I haven't seen don't they don't look
at it for you if the.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Original was you know, have you ever watched it?

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Here and we'll get back to supports your second you
ever watch the like the making of the boon Dock Saints,
all this stuff scenes and hell, Troy Duffy, who's like
an egomaniac. He was a bartender writing the scripts, came
to the scrape, went to the Weinsteins with it, and
then apparently they weren't gonna let him do things the
way he wanted to do it, and he got super
paranoid and thought.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
They were trying to kill him.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
He wound up directing it and having his own band
play on the thing and everything else. Yeah, he was
also I mean, like to be fair, troydf it was
kind of you know, a weird egomaniac like that stuff.
But the story behind the scenes of I'm making that
movie certainly fantastic, you know interesting.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
I know, you know what, maybe it's just me.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Maybe they any change up movies, but I'm like, you know,
just full guy movies.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Yeah, somebody said The Iron Giant. That's another animated one. Yeah,
the Elephant man, that's what they call me. The whale,
that's what they call me these days because I need
to go.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
But with Brendan Frasier, the Whale. You know, but I
didn't watch it. Oh you should. It's it's good. You
should watch it. That's good. Well, I guess I needed
diversify my music. We have to list of movies to watch. Yeah,
that's what I'm asking. I gonna break you. He's gonna
say this. Listen, I was gonna send this like a
like a like a FaceTime. It's gonna be the tears,
smears rolling down his face. You try to break me, man, Well,

(09:14):
why do you find glory and making me cry? It's
trying to make me cry. It's good to have a
good cry every now and then. It's healthy.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
You gotta be teaching your sons that you gotta get
you you know what, you crying expert to take it
for great a podcast.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
We can talk about the psychological butt. I cry all
the time on the podcast. Really, this is hard bow.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
The conversation with my brother a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Let make go. You know what, man I bring my father?
You know, charging me interest on the SAT. I'm crying
right up like a baby right now. Makes me want
to cry, yeah, because I mean he never paid it back.
He has like thirty grand for the SAT.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Now.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
No, I never fade it back either. I did. I
told him many listen as long as you won't go broke.
How about that? There you go.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
I'd always always have some place, you guess five textually
got a bunch of these. We're rolling in here, Dead
Poet's Society, Futurama where the dog guys waiting for the owner.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Elephant Man is Devsta.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Yeah, we got a ton of new text coming and
I'll get to all that a little bit later. I
want to get back to, uh, you know Bill Belichick
who get props to a certain member of the Broncos
coaching staff.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Oh you know, Betta said, didn't do that.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
But what I wanted to talk about, because when we
talk about sports in general, we always.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Hit on the quarterback.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
We talk about the head coach, especially if it's that
person is somewhat known as offensive genius.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
These are the things that we talk about in the circles.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
And for me, it's like, well, you don't normally hear
about the assistant coaches and what those guys on the
support staff actually bring to the table. So for me,
I wanted to bring up Jamar kay Right, the Broncos
D line coach, because when you think about what he
was able to do with all those guys across the

(11:09):
D line. Look at how Zach Allen played this year,
and even though he didn't have as many sacks as
a Nick Benito, just look at how impactful Zach Allen
was as far as benefiting the defense as a whole,
but also helping out the edge rushers. But then you
look at the growth maturity of John Van Cooper, but

(11:31):
more importantly you look at Nick Benito. I mean that
guy made a massive jump.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Well John Cooper too.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
I mean John Cooper started off as as a contained
guy and now he's become it. It's funny how both
those guys have grown their game, but they grow in
opposite way. John Cooper started off as as an edge
contained guy, and you know that was his call. His
hallmark was he was great set in the edge of
the run game. But he's developed into a great pass
rusher as well. Nick Bonnito, you were just talking about,
started off as a pass rushing specialist and is morphed

(11:59):
into and all aroun guy who could set the edge
of the run game as well.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
And for me, obviously as a coach, you need some
tunes to work with with the player. But also goes
back into well, okay, how do you put that player
in the right position. That goes to Vance Joseph and
what he was able to do as a defensive coordinator.
But Dan Jamar Kain, okay, well, how do you go
out and teach the necessary skill set required to be

(12:22):
effective in the defense that Vance Joseph is drawing up?

Speaker 2 (12:26):
And I feel as though that group did a heck
of a job.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
And when you look at whether the Broncos were ultimately
able to get to and you could try to dissect
the Buffalo game or you want to, but that group
was a huge part, a huge part, and I give
kudos to the each individual player, but once again, for me,
it is a Friday. I wanted to give kudos to
coach Jamar Kaine because you're not going to see this

(12:54):
happen all the time. People are not going to give
that support, stab their their valid I.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Want a gave as flowers. Oh well, yeah, I think
we should.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
I further than that, I'll go back, and I know
it's an obvious we'd get Vance's flower Fans took a
defense that was designed to run what Vic Fangio ran, right,
we had built this thing up for that, and and
Vance came in tried to run a little bit at
the beginning to switch to.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
What he knew.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
But Vance, it wasn't like there was a wholesale personnel turnover.
We brought in Zach Allen to swap out for for
Draymond Jones. We added John Franklin Myers this past year.
But the reality is most of those pieces, I mean,
you subtracted Justin Simmons and looking at what Vance Joseph
got out of defense that was designed to play a

(13:41):
style of defense that is almost the complete opposite of
what Vance runs. And so I think you're right. I
think there's there's a lot of not just Kine, but
there's a lot of these guys. I think they deserve
a lot of credit for helping shape this thing and
get these guys who have skill sets that were optimized
for maybe a different style of defense to play in
this particular style of defense.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Well, you look at the Broncos coaching stab as of
last year. I know they've had a couple of coaches
the part, however you want to call it, either left
for the jobs or they did not return. Are there
any of the coaches on the coaching stab that if
you could give them their props on this Friday you
would say, Okay, well this guy did a great job

(14:24):
with this group because they improved in this way.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
Well, I mean I would say that our departed special
teams coordinators Ben Quika and Mike Westoff did a great job.
They kind of got railroaded because of what happened in
the Kansas City game. But the reality is our special
teams for the last couple of years has been significantly
better than it was before, and so I.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Would give them their flowers.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
Although they departed in terms of players that have I mean,
we took a bunch of guys who were designed to
play a quarters match scheme you know, zone corners and
were playing in a man's scheme.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Now this middlefield, you know what one high man scheme. Now,
I think you.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Got to give a lot of props to those corners
for being able to have such hands in all world talent.
But you know, Jake Kwan and Riley Moss and those
guys being able to adapt to that.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
You know, I think you got to give it up
for that, now, would would you?

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Even though the run game wasn't quite where anyone anticipated
and wanted to be. When you look at Zach Strief
and what he's done in year two with the offensive
line opposed the year one, do you look at that
group of saying, Okay, well they made a significant jump
and you're looking for them to make an even larger

(15:40):
jump in year three.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Oh that's a good question.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
You know.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
I think he'd like to see Chris Abrams drain who
was your one guy you'd like to see him make
a big jump this year year through man, I there's
not a whole lot of those kind of guys on
the defense getting those they kind of playing. Moss would
be the obvious candidate, I think on the on that side,
you know, on the offensive side, of the ball. Some
guys you'd like to see better than your two take

(16:07):
that leap devvel if talked about.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
I expect him to be that guy. We'll see. I
don't know, let me think about that.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Turning the break broucous Country night back after this, I
got a text him rightfore with the break.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Since speaking of defense, Ben had some money to spare.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Which defensive free agent are you betting on to be
a Bronco when the new year league year begins.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
I know it's difficult to gauge the ease.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Without having headed to the cowbine, and yet the possibility
the other teams come in with surprising the higher offer,
but throw your chip said, who.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Is the player you are hearing?

Speaker 1 (16:35):
I think I've gotten the most buzz around, uh Nick
Bolton possibly being possibly doing that, you know, raiding your
your division rival to get.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
A key defensive piece that that's not say Kansas. He
can't make it work.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
You know, we all see Brett Viach squeeze a nickel
out of stone before, but I think that would be
one they kind of have their eye on here. We'll see,
we'll see if they're able to pull that off.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Well, goold be a great guy for the Broncos.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
You know, to definitely pick up for the obvious reasons
because you're just trying to improve your defense. You're trying
to increase sacks, turnovers, overall defensive production. More important to
get off the field on third down, time of possession
being being one of those things that you want to

(17:23):
make sure you're better in that time of possession. That
not only holds true for the defense being able to
hold up their part of the bargain, but that speaks
volumes to the offense being able to sustain drive. So
Nick Bolton would be in a great addition to this
team because now he's gonna give or potentially give both

(17:44):
Nicks and the offense more possessions.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Yeah, anytime to get a guy like that who can
who's you know, stout against the run, can definitely be
in there on short yard situations that kind of stuff
as well. You know, he's that's it's kind of something
that the Broncos have lacked a little bit of.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
And then you know he's kind of own center, you.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Know, and I realized that's a cliche term, but he's
kind of a guy. He's a thumper, he's a hitter
and you know, he likes to get out there and
and put those highlight reel uh hits out there, so
it'd be it'd be interesting. We'll see that if I
had to guess right now that that'd be who who
I would guest? Speaking of of which, if I had
to guess, we had yesterday. I finally put out my
first uh if I had to guess today, which is

(18:23):
something I do every year to kind of, you know,
have some fun. Since I only do one mock draft
per year. That's sort of what I do to whet
the appetite a little bit in terms of uh, you know,
mock drafting or whatever. I kind of project when I
think is gonna happen in the top five or whatever.
It's been fairly accurate the last couple of years. You know,

(18:46):
I haven't missus. I hadn't missed the other night, I.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
What was it? I was on was I?

Speaker 1 (18:50):
I was talking about Jermaine Pratt, and I accidentally, I
like an idiot, I was projecting to the Falcons. I
met Colts, and I was prett jecting the Falcons because
lou Anroumo, who's the DC, the Colts now out the Falcons.
And then I went to a hole shpiel about you
know how the Falcons could make that work by you know,
kicking Elis to the age and all that kind of stuff. Yeah,

(19:11):
it's one of those sikes. Every once in a while,
I have just a giant brain fart, and that was
that was a great one.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Now, how many of these so called, you know, draft
boards that you normally come out with, is it like?
Because I know they go like from two point zero
and then.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Now I don't like to do a bunch of those.
I hate that, but I'll put like, I'll put two
or three of these. I'll do one.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Before the combine, then I'll do one a little bit
after the combine O makes it.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
And then I'll do one more like close to the draft. Okay,
I listen.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
I totally understand it, because you're going with the flow
of the NFL offseason because right now we have no
idea what teams are going to do. There's a lot
of talk about where teams may go players that they
may need, but you know, just like I know that
in making these projections, a lot of teams are not

(19:58):
going to be able to land the players that most
people are saying when they come out, you know with
their early projections.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
So for me leave room so you could say, you
know what, well, I was wrong on this early on.
But after free agency. See, for me, it's like wave
into after free agency theause, all those things start to
line up, and that's really where you can start to
get the nity degree.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
But I always like to do one beforehand, just to
kind of, you know, just to have a little bit
of fun with you with the appetite get it started.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
So I put my it out last night. Here's what
I had see. If you guys, okay, agree or disagree.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
Number one over all the Titans, I wrote, they'll try
to trade out. They are not a quarterback away. They
like cam Ward, but they love Abdull Carter. So I
had them trying to trade out, unable to accomplish that,
and selecting Abdul Carter, the pass rusher out of Penn State.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
At number one. Overall.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Number two lay the Cleveland Browns, I said, also trying
to trade out a lot of what happens here hinges
on free agency, which we were just talking about, and
the quarterback situation. I think they find a taker here
to come up and get cam Ward at two. So
I think the Browns trade out of two really and
get somebody to come up in this particular thing. I
projected the Jets to come up to two and.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
And and take cam Ward number three the Giants.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
I had schdor Sanders number four the Patriots, And this
is the one I got the most pushback on.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
I had Mason Graham.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
I do believe that Mike Rabel, who did the same
thing in Tennessee, will pay them a lot of attention
to that front seven on defense. Also, I think the
secondary for New England's not as bad as people think.
But I believe that I believe that they'll pay attention
to that front seven. I would not be surprised him
put Mason Graham next to Barmore and you know the
guys that got there.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
So you say that the Patriots secondary isn't that bad,
which is great when when you say it, but it's
still not exceptional. And note as though theyble you know,
cut his teeth playing on the defense side of the ball.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
And to me, it's about takeaways.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
You want to be as talent as you can in
the secondary, especially on the corners, but especially at But
I think they got those guys.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
I think they need pressure on the quarterbacks for those
guys to excel.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
You can you I mean if you never have enough
edge rushers for one, right, but you can never have
guys in the secondary that can take the ball away.
Because what's talking about Travis Hunter. We've seen what Travis
can do taking the.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
Ball by the way I projected the Jags with the
next pick.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
Okay, Travis Hunts is an exceptional player and.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
It's like a two for one spec.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Yeah, and the team that could use that would be
New England. Who could use but the secondary in New England.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
I mean, he's not bad.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
You've got You've got Christian Gonzalez, who's a great corner.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
You got Jonathan Jones at the other corner is a
good corner. Marcus Jones in the slot, and then you
got Kyle Duggart jabro Peppers back there at the safety's
it's a pretty good safety.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
But if you can get another guy that you could
put on a corner, and you say, well, based on
the players that the Patriots have at the corners in
the nickel position, then you can use Travis a little
more in his rocky year. On the offensive side of
the ball, they're not too many players on in the
draft that you can say that you know that they

(23:10):
are competitive two way players. He is that guy. So
I would be surprised if Rabel decides to not take
Travis Hunter and take a d lineman.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
He's a freak, he's a mut He's the best player
in college football. What more can I say? What more
can I say? I hear you on that.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
I just uh, you look at you go back and
you look at the Uh.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
The draft, the first draft that Vrabel was a part.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Of with the Tennessee Titans, and I think I'm pretty
sure they took pair of linebackers if it were Shot
Evans and Harold Landry. Uh, they did take a corner.
They only had four picks in that draft. They had first,
a second, and fifth and a six. And in the
next season, what did they do right off the bat, Well,
they took Jeffrey Simmons, the defensive tackle, and they got
two linebackers.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Later.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
They never took any corners, so they didn't take a safety.
I think they got a money hooker in there. The
next year he was there. They finally got a corner
in the second round that was Christine Fulton, but they
also took Larry Merchison as a defensive tackle. You go.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
You know, it just felt like that they did a lot.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Of when when Vrabel was there, especially early, they took
a lot of that front seven in the draft, and
then they took DB's later on.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
But I think this is one of those drafts that
I feel is a little deeper far as interior D
lineman or concern. So you may have you got your
eye on one guy, but if Travis Hunter is there
for me, I you'd be crazy to let him drop
into draft to go get a D lineman which you can.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Go get later. If yeah, if you feel that you
could do that, I'm with you. I hear you on that.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
This is just like I said, this was an early
projection to have a little fun with it. I think
Travis Hunter would fit both New England and Jacksonville. I
don't think any of us want to see him go
to Jacksonville and languish away, you know, down there.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
But everybody I've talked to al will say this. Everybody
I talked to you have used him as a corner.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
He's a corner or who may play some receiver, but
he's a corner right coming to the league. He may
he may view that differently, but you know, teams are
viewing this as a guy that uh is is going
to be a solid, very solid corner, specifically in a.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
Zone style defense.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
UH And then you know he's going to be a
guy that you can make some packages and have him
on on offense for you know, ten twelve plays you
hope a game, Well, well.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Let me let you go ahead and finish going through
some of your your top ten.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
After Trevor, I'll do the first five. So this was
and I always called it the the if I had
the guest today, so that that that is the pre
combine edition. I'll do one maybe a week after the combat,
maybe two weeks after the Combine, and then I'll do
one right for the draft.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
Now. I've been seeing some drafts, some my drafts that
have acid Gentz kind of like going in that twelfth spot.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
And I saw one earlier today that had him going
to the Cowboys. I think that's the latest he lasts.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
I don't believe he'll make it to the Cowboys, but
if if things break that way, I think the farthest
he falls is to the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
I'm surprised that he would somehow end up getting past
the Raiders.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
That's the one that's where I believe he's gonna go. Okay,
now we'll see. I mean again, a lot of time
between now and then. But you know, this stuff, I've
seen mock drafts with Chanty going to the Broncos at
twenty stuff and Warren and chant b in there, and
I'm like, this stuff is ludicrous, Like this is not. Yeah,
I don't know how, I don't know what it is
that we're pushing up to the top of this draft,
but the idea that some of the best players are

(26:32):
going to fall that far doesn't seem realistic.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
And you know, this Broncos team doesn't look like based
on what we've.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Got in terms of cash and capital and everything else
and cap space, doesn't feel like a team that's looking
to trade up in the draft either. So, you know,
just setting expectations right now until we get a little
closer and get a clearer picture.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
See, my biggest question about this upcoming draft is which
team or teams that are going to do something that
we did not anticipate, like the Falcons did last year
moving out for Pennix. I mean, we know when we
look at the Saints at nine, they are stretched for

(27:10):
cast like like stretped for cash cap space certainly. Yeah, right,
So for them moving back from nine to get a
bunch of rookies to help filled out their roster known
as though they're not gonna have extensive amount of cash
to pay veteran players, I could see that being the
first team that got the ball rolling.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
As far as moving back, yeah, and I think they
want to. I mean, they're gonna have to.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
They're gonna have to get much younger, They're gonna have
to do those kinds of things. And I think it
gives them an opportunity if there's a skill position player
or you know, that kind of talent somebody wants to
move up and get because there aren't that many in
this draft, perfect opportunity to go up there and get it.
They can move back still get their guy Jackson Dart,
add another guy a little bit later, add another guy
with the other picks that they get, and continue to

(27:54):
lay the foundation for what will be the Kellen Moore
and Brandon Staley. Incidentally enough, more Or worked for Staley's
office Accordador to the Chargers, now more as the head
coach and Staley's coordinator down there in Orleans, but that
you know, because New Orleans defense is not set up
to run that style of defense at all. They're set
up for what Dennis Allen was running, which is again
a lot closer, which I would say was a lot

(28:17):
more similar such the same thing, but it's a lot
more similar to advanced runs than it is to what
Vic runs, which Brandon Staley is an offshoot of Vic.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Fangio.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Well, let me throw this out at you because I
can see this possibly happening based on knowing this individual,
knowing this system, but also knowing the injured players and
also how they too have some financial restraints on them.
So I told you, well, Dallas is sitting at twelve

(28:45):
right before Dallas and San Francisco forty nine ers. The
second vargument, let's just say asking genty last is that long.
I could see Kyle Shanahan possibly drafting Gensy known as
though Christian McCaffrey is staying a lot of injuries.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Yeah, and especially with Deebo probably gone there, McCaffrey probably
moves into more of a debo role and then you
bring in a back to be your primary back, you know.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
That would be I would love to see what Kyle
Sanahan could deal with a guy like Ashton Gentsy in
this offense.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
That's that's the thing. I mean, there's a couple of
there's a couple of guys there where you're looking at that.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
You're like, you know, Jim Kelly with the Ashton Janty
and there's something that kind of kind of scary too,
especially in the division.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
So something to keep your eye on with, you know,
with both those. Next week, like I.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
Said, would be at the combine myself and riding up
be at the Combin'd get the opportunity to soak up
a lot of a lot of information and clarify some things.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
There's some guys out there.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
We talked about the show a little bit by Green,
who everybody's raving about right now, But we talked about
the show.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
There's some off field there.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
There was an incident when he was in Virginia before
moving to Marshall uh an alleged alleged sexual assaults. So
you know, that's that's a red flag there if you
if you wonder what the off field is there is
being cagey about that.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
That's what it is.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
And so that's going to be that's gonna be the
situation with him that we'll find out more about these things.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
And then medicals.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
You know, a guy we've talked about is the Ohio
State running back Trayvon Henderson. Right, yep, medical guy. There's
some medical red flags there. He needs to clear those
combine medicals. So there's there's there's some you know, there's
some things behind the scenes that that we really want
to get out of this combine trip here and and
get some clarity on so that we can kind of
better project this.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Would this bother you? With the Raiders at six, they said, okay, well,
in free.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
Agency, we're gonna go out and grab a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
That Chip Kelly is familiar with, Sam Darnold. No, oh,
Marcus Mariota. Well, I think they do that as a backup.
I don't think they started.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Okay, Sam going and Marcus Mariota.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
And then at six they picked Ashon Gentzy, knowing as
though they already had brought Biolce. I would expect that, Okay,
would that be an offense on the Chip Kelly that
as a Broncos fan, you would go, oh wow, they
really made some changes rossill Rose that make you scratch
your head, like, I.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Don't know that the competitive Yeah, I don't know that.
I'm sitting there being like I'm scared of that, but
they scared.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
I'm just saying what I'm saying, Like I'm sitting up.
It's better than Aid and O'Connell and Huld. They a
mirror Abdola and Alexander Madison and Samir White or whatever
it was they were running this year. I mean, yeah,
you know, if the mountain Man Gardner Minshew like as
much as as much as I love his aesthetic, at
the end of the day, probably not. You know, it's
probably more of a backup quarterback in this league than
he has any kind of uh, serviceable starter. And so

(31:28):
you know, I think getting Chancey and from what I understand,
I think I think they will. You go out, you
get Dartle Mariota, you go out and draft Chanty, and
I think they'll double dip on the running backs and
get a second running back h as well. It could
be the Judkins or somebody like that. And they want
a one two punch. They want to be able to
run the football. And then when you suck up on that,
that's when they're gonna hit you with Bowers and and
you know, whoever they've got playing receiver for him at
that time as well.

Speaker 3 (31:48):
See, I'm thinking because of Tim Kelly that he's learned
from his first trip in the NFL as a head
coach with the Philadelphia eCos that well, now having another
opportunity to possibly put himself in the situation, he's going
to try to take some of that brain power he
used to make Oregon one of those top.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Teams years ago.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
Right, could he use that same philosophy and go out
and get those types of players to now play for
the Raiders. See that's what I'm thinking that both he
and Pete Carroll might be thinking.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Yeah, there's a lot to delve into on that, and
we'll certainly get into division previews and all that kind
of stuff coming up.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
But that's one that kind of makes your eyebrows raise
just a little bit.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
We come back now, guess won the first game back
since he all started break beating down the Hornets.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
We're going to get into that. Listener Broncos Country Night,
