Speaker 1 (00:00):
We've been doing rockcos country tonight.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
But to be a bright here with you Grant Smith
back there behind the glass. Five six sixty nine zero
is the text line. Got some tournament action going on.
Twenty seconds left in the first half. Alabama up fifty
forty on by you, Florida up twenty two sixteen on
Maryland eate fifty two left in the first in that one,
Arizona Duke a little bit later, Arkansas, Texas Tech as

(00:23):
well and Kawaie.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Tournament updates are presented.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
By X fifty stream Live Sports for the best seat
in the house.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
You're not gonna mention the biggest game of the night?
What game was that? Arkansas and Texas? I said it
was later, I said, Arizona Duke garganstaw Texas Tech.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Later.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Oh, I just heard you say I would tune me
out too. I mean, I get it. You like your
Arkansas razorbacks chance I actually do.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
It's not a homer thing like legitimately they stack, they
just stack Texas Tech. He's going to have to work
the ball inside. They're gonna have to work into the
big and in an effort to do this, But I
just it feels like Arkansas's got just too much for
or Texas Tech. I mean, unless Toping is he's having
just a monster game in there. But I think they

(01:05):
match up well with the with the bigs that they've
got to throw at them, They've got multiple bodies they
can throw at him.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
They're also were I heard there were rumblings that they
may be getting their leading scorer back.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Is he playing tonight? Do you know Arkansas you're talking
about Thereau? Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
I mean Boogie Flann is back, he's been back. I
don't know if if there's.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Back or not. He said he was.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
He was practicing this week and then he sat out
one practice and then he had practiced again, so I
didn't know if there was a final word yet.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yeah, I mean the thing and I don't know if
you will or not, but they're a distributed scoring team.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
I mean it's not it's not all concentrated.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
More two guys are pretty distributed scoring team, and it
just feels like they've got too much to be able
to throw at them. The main thing is not getting
foul trouble with If and Wagner making sure those guys
don't get in, uh, don't get in foul trouble.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
They get in a little bit of foul trouble in
the last game, and you know that that could have
been could have been a problem.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
The last two stories on Thereau Arkansas's leading and score
at Thereau should be back for Sweet sixteen.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
That's yesterday.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Also from yesterday, Arkansas Thereau miss his practice before Sweet sixteen.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Yes, he was saying, like, I hadn't seen anything official
or definitive yet, and I like, I saw some reports
he might be back, but I had really.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Counted on it.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I felt like that he was probably more likely to
be back for an Elite eight matchup with Florida than
anything else. But we'll see see how it goes. You know,
text a little bit better, a little bit better rebounding team,
a little bit higher pace, a little bit better scoring team.
But like I said, Arkansas, they're in calipart teams tend
to be tournament teams, and they're just a bit more

(02:43):
distributed across the board.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
And when you get into the Sweet sixteen, you need that.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Like if you've got a if you got a team
that's a one or two man show, you're you're in
real trouble. Once you start to get to the Sweet sixteen. Yeah,
because if they have an off night, you're done well.
And what and then what teams do is they just
tend to double that and they're like, all right, we're
gonna take that away and make you beat us with
the other guys. And in a lot of cases, that's
just that's just you know, beyond the scope of what

(03:09):
a lot of those teams are able to do.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
There are I mean, Tech's.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Got a couple of guys you gott watch out for,
but Million Williams Anderson, they're you know, they're they're decent.
But but after that, they just they're off a cliff.
Like they've got they've got four guys really that they
can they can do anything, and then just nothing after that.
Their bench is not very deep. They will go into it,
but their bench is not very deep in terms of scoring.
They do have that mcfederico could reab out a little bit,
but Tech just is not, uh, not a team that

(03:34):
has a lot of guys with with high minutes. Meanwhile,
you've got guys for Arkansas like Knox or Brassel or
I knew they're there, are you know, six seven, eight
guys they could come in and give you quality, minutes, score, rebound,
all those kinds of things.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Richmond.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
You know they their their bench gets ten to eleven deep.
Razorbacks Country at night. That's it, Razorbacks Country, not just
what everybody tuned in for. Five six, six nine zero
is the text. A lot you guys would to get
involved in conversation. We got big show tonight. Rick lew
was going to join us bottom of the hour here,
get chance talk to him a little bit about the
draft coming up and whatever else he wants to whatever

(04:11):
else you wants.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
To talk about.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Zach Seekers in his latest article and the chance talk
to him. Cody Ro's gonna join us from MYLA Sports.
Romy Bean from CBS can Chance talked to her. She
a great interview with ABS goalie on Monday. That's out.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
If you haven't seen that, I have not seen that.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Yeah, I got to get tuned into the ABS man.
I've been so wrapped up at March Madness and then
Nuggets coming down to the stretch and.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Rockies opener tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
It's like I got to lock in because nothing better
than playoff hockey.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
That's that's what I'm told. I went to my first
hockey game last year. It was the ABS against the
Dallas Stars.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
You got to go to a that's completely different. In
the playoffs. There is no atmosphere that I've ever been in.
It was was it a playoff game? Last year? Was
did the ass play dllas in the playoffs?

Speaker 4 (04:54):
I don't know, you should know if you were at
a playoffs. I came up for the playoff for I
mean it was raucous. I'll say that I went.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
I was in the.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Media area, which is way up there. But it was
kind of cool to sort of get that bird's eye view, yeah,
because you can really see everything right, which is not
an angle you typically get when you when you see
hockey on TV.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
So it kind of, you know, helped make.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Things a little a little crystal clearer for me on
some things on how they do things, and you know,
you understand.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
It a little bit a little bit more.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
And it really shows how the lines come on and
off and the waves that they come. I mean, it's
just way you have to wait, you know, like that's
that's how the game is played.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
I will say though, I have a buddy who gets
a couple of tickets every year, and man are they
expensive nowadays. But uh, I went to a game with
him earlier this year, and we sat about ten row
center ice and it was just high enough where you
don't really have to lean up and look over the
boards and you can just see the whole game. And
sitting down there, man, that was an unreal experience.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
It was certainly fun. It was fascinating for me.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
I had never been to a hockey game before, so
that was my first, my first opportunity to be able
to do that. So that was that was a lot
of fun. Look look forward to UH to the Sweet sixteen.
Right now, I'm still in first in the Kawa brackets.
I'm clinging to the UH. I've done a lot of
smack talking over the course of the week, and I'm
clinging to that while I can, because I have Arkansas
and Arizona winning tonight where people are on duke.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
If you get both of those, you're you're gonna win
the bracket.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
I will win the bracket, like mathematically I will at
that point, but it's it's I mean, I'm clinging to
that because if it goes sideways on me and the
brackets and tatters at.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
That point, and if both those teams lose, right.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
And then all the smack talking that I did is uh,
you know, is out the windows.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
So five six, six, nine zeros in Texa. I want
to hear from you guys on what you want to
talk about. As well. We got Kelly Sports that chance
to talk to Bud Black.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
The manager of the Rockies obviously opening date tomorrow for
the uh Colorado Rockies, the chance to talk to him
a little bit earlier, and uh they had a great conversation.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
First pitch to Mac is sent to left field, going
back Hernandez to the warning track, to the wall.

Speaker 6 (06:54):
It's gone Brian McMahon for the fifth time and his
career has a twenty home run season, touch him all
time for Mac.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
The Rockies regained the lead four to three.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
I can't wait till tomorrow Rockies begin their season.

Speaker 7 (07:12):
That's twenty twenty five campaign and Ernest out in Tampa Bay.
And to help us break it all down, Rockies manager
Bud Black, Budd, thank you so much for the time
you're on with Dave Logan, Ryan Edwards and Nick Ferguson.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
How are you, sir, I'm well, Hi, guys.

Speaker 5 (07:25):
How about to get McMahon to thirty homers instead of twenty?

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Yeah, you know, what that.

Speaker 8 (07:31):
That would be good news for everybody, buddy, if that
could happen.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Hey, he great to catch up with you.

Speaker 8 (07:38):
I think Rockies fans, you know, excited about the start
of the new season.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
If you were, if you were to.

Speaker 8 (07:44):
Pick a couple of things aside from the rotation, as
being the most important for your team over a long,
long season to get done, what couple of things would
be necessary for this team to take the next step
or two and getting better?

Speaker 5 (08:01):
Odave, First of all, good to hear your voice. Bullpen consistency,
six months of good bullpen work, Bryant, totally. Our corner
outfielders need to be productive, and I think that if
we do that, I think we're in pretty good shape.

(08:22):
Those two things are critical. Now you mentioned the rotation,
that's huge. We're gonna play good defense. We got four
potential gold Glovers, but guys got we got to score
more runs than our bullpen's got to be consistent.

Speaker 9 (08:37):
Every single year, you have new players coming in and
they're trying to find.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Ways to coexist together.

Speaker 9 (08:44):
As a manager, what is your message to those guys
now coming in, but also to those veterans as you
try to make this season the twenty twenty five season
a successful season.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
You're right.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
I think you know, every year is different. There's roster turnover,
you know, I think in all professional sports, and I
think that's a good thing because every year's, you know,
each to its own, and this year will be different
than any of the previous thirty plus years of Rocky Baseball.
We got some new faces. We have some guys who've

(09:16):
been around, who have been Rockies. To your question, I
think there has to be an ability to, you know,
trust the other guys that they're going about it the
right way, that they're on board from a team standpoint,
and you can count on your teammates, you know, not
only you know on a daily basis through you know
their practice, their work. You know, if you can trust

(09:40):
your teammates that they're doing the that they're doing everything
they can to get better and to win tonight's game,
I think that's what we're looking for. I mean, that's
sort of my messaging to the group. Trust each other,
be good teammates, come to work, work your ass off,
and let's get them win and do it together. I

(10:02):
think that's the thing that the coaches and I have
really tried to distress this year.

Speaker 8 (10:07):
When you think about your career as the skipper here
of the Rockies, I mean, you've had some really good moments,
defining moments. You've had plenty of times that were tough times.
The team has been down, you've had injuries, You've had
a lot of a lot of things to deal with.
And I want to ask you, at this stage of
your career, what what couple of things bring you back?

Speaker 3 (10:28):
What what two or three.

Speaker 8 (10:30):
Things excite you enough to say, you know what, I'm
not ready to step aside and go do something.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
I still want to do this.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
Yeah, Dave, that's you know, I've been asked that, you know,
you know quite a bit the last couple of years.
I mean, for me, it's, you know, the competitiveness that
I have, you know, on a regular basis, going to
the ballpark, the winner of the loss, you know, still
still drives me. The teaching part still drives me. You know,

(11:00):
I love talking baseball. I love teaching baseball, door players,
sur coaches. You know, my energy level is still there.
You know I still enjoy getting my car, getting on
I twenty five and going to the ballpark. You know,
the when we're on the road, the travel is still
uh you know, it excites me going to Yankee Stadium

(11:23):
or Fenway Park or Wrigley Field. But I think the
thing that stands out is just the competitiveness of being,
you know, in the dugout in the clubhouse with our players.
You know, that's probably the thing that still drives me.
The enjoyment that I get from that is still you know,

(11:43):
deep inside me.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
That was Gay Sports interview with Bud Black earlier today.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
You guys get that up on the website. You uh,
you missed any part of that?

Speaker 3 (11:55):
And good?

Speaker 1 (11:55):
That's always good to have Rocky season back.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
I don't think expectations for the he's in terms of
wind totals are exactly soaring right now.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
But fifty eight and a half? Oh my god, is
that the book line for real?

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Yep?

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Wow, So I'm taking the over. Yeah, I haven't the
over on that.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Yeah half, that's you said on KOA Sports. You think
maybe seventy five?

Speaker 3 (12:15):
Yeah, I think they've got some.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
I think got some young guys that I think it's
surprised some people.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
I don't think they're gonna, you know, accidentally be in
contention for the World Series.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
But I do believe that flirting with between seventy and
eighty wins is very realistic.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
I think they've got some talent.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
Yeah, they just got to keep their their pitching staff healthy.
They've ramped their bullpen up, so they should be much
better with some young guys. And there's a guy that's
starting the year in triple A. I think I brought
him up with either Jerry shim Or or Jack Corgan
when we had him on BCT a couple of weeks ago.
But Zach Veene, I love this dude. He's got so
much swagger. He's got a good little mustache going is

(12:53):
now we know the secret seventeen hits in spring training,
hit two seventy, also stole nine bases, So I mean,
I would love to see him get caught up sooner.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Rather than later. Yeah, you know, it's baseball. It's it's
this town is.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Better when the Rockies are good, which it's been a while,
but just competitive.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Yeah, I mean it's more fun.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
There's summer baseball is fun, you know, like going out
to the ballpark and and get a band, and to
be honest with you, like the the Rocky baseball experience.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Like the ballpark. It's a fun ball bar, top notch man,
you know that that's one of those things.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
So it's not like like when I lived in Tampa,
the old the old trap down there.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
It was the weirdest experience there. Nobody, it's all. It
was all the way out in Saint Pete.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
It was a dome, which dome baseball sucks, just like
dome football, and it was I mean it was like
a you could get tickets for eight bucks, you know,
sitting sitting there three rows back on the third base
side and there's rockous like music playing, but there was
nobody there.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
So it just felt weird. The Rocky Rockies like it's fun.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
It's a fun experience, yeah, And I mean they're typically drawing,
even with the rough couple.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
Of the past years.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
It they're you know, top ten around there every year
in the league in attendance.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
And it's because it's a blast and you can get.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
Rock pile tickets for five bucks a day of the
game and if you want to spend a little bit
more lucky enough like we are and get you know,
good seats. Through the affiliation with the Rockies, there's nothing
more I love than going.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
To a baseball game in Denver.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
You know, a hot summer day with a cold beer
and a hot dog listening to Jack and Jerry on
the call.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
I mean that's what sports is all about.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Yeah, it's a lot of fun. And so, I you know, again,
I hope they're good. I hope they give the fans
something this year. And I think there's a little something
there in terms of what they've got that maybe.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
They're round in the corner on some of this.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
It just looks like they've got a lot of stuff
coming up, you know, young guys coming up, young talented.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
If it progresses, they could have something real fun.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
I mean, like like Bud said and that at the
beginning of that interview, if we could get thirty home
runs from Ryan McMahon, another year of progress from young
guys like Britton Doyle who was a Gold Glover again,
and Ezekiel Tovar, who people all around the Major League
say is one of the best young players in the game.
There's a lot to be hopeful for. But I mean
that's kind of all it is. Until they showed on

(15:07):
the field, is his hope.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Right, And you're going to get skepticism from from the
fan base until until they show it because it's been
so long, right, and I think this town and these
fans don't trust.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Dick Monford at this point.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
So there's going to have to be some build back
there in terms of, you know, in terms of selling
the fans on hey, we really are trying to We're
not just trying to make your money.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
We are trying to build something here that works.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
And all it takes is one good season, you know,
one surprising year where you win eighty five games instead
of fifty eight and you're you're in the playoff contention
and maybe sneaking into that last wild card spot. That's
all it takes as one surprising year. And if, like
I said, if the pitching staff can stay healthy and
produce just a little bit this year, because they were

(15:52):
god awful in the bullpen last year, if they can
stay healthy and produce, I think I think this team's
going to surprise some people.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Could you give a chance to watch any of the
get some bucks last night? I did you see the pass?
You know what I'm talking about?

Speaker 4 (16:03):
Dude, he just think you've seen it all from the Joker,
but then he pulls off something like that and you're like, dude,
this dude just sees the court on a whole.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Nother level than anyone else playing it.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
Like, I'm a huge Lebron James fan, who I've always
said his greatest asset was the way he reads the game,
But Jokers on another level from that.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Yeah, it was funny.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Magic Johnson actually quote tweeted the video and put it
a He says that Joker is the best guy to
see the court since he was playing.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Yeah, and that's how I praise coming from Magic.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Yeah, And I mean it's it kind of reminds you
that just the division, the savvy, the anticipation and no
one not just you know where to put the ball,
but where guys are going to.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
Be, you know, in an effort to do that.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
I've got a great Joker stat for you, because you know,
he just every time he has a great game, it
seems like it's NBA history. He became the fourth player
ever in NBA history, joining Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson and
his now teammate Russell Westbrook to record thirty triple doubles
in the season.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
How is he not your MVP? Well, I mean he
needs to be the only thing.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
The only reason I would say that people that it
would be voter fatigue, right, I mean, because he's doing
more this year than he's ever done before.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
He got he got hosed, the year hose the year
embiid got it. Yeah, how that look? And and he's
and he's just been one of those things. And that's
that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
People are, so they get so weird about looking at
things through a greater context, like, well, he can't be
a three time MVP in a row because only so
and so.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
And I'm like, dude, did he earn it? Didn't give
it to you? Say if he earned it? To vote
for him.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
It's the same thing I was saying with people with
the LaVar and the Josh Allen stuff, like.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Who do you think earned it? Didn't give it to them?
You know, don't vote for that person.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
You don't have to make it some arbitrary thing about
I can't give it to this guy because he only
went so many times Jordan this and you know, it's
it's it's silly, it's absolutely silly.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
And I hate that. And you know, Shy is having
a heck of a year. Elles Alexander's having a heck
of a year.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
But the only thing he outpaces Yochina scoring let's let's
just be real here.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Let's it's the only thing he out paces him in.
I mean, it's just right for averaged a triple double
a knight.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
Right with the same amount of steals as Shake Gojus Alexander,
which is where I kind of was leaning. You know, well,
Shay is a pretty good defensive player, but Joker is
doing it on the defensive end down two, which was
the liability in his game in previous years.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Yeah, and so it's I mean that that's not you know,
that's not the local Denver take or whatever. That's the
Which of these guys is A producing and B means
more to their teeth, the most valuable player, right.

Speaker 10 (18:30):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
And we've we've sort of seen the answer.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
To that, and we we we I think everybody should
be on the same page with that.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
You still see, I should I still the favorite, I believe, though,
Yeah he is.

Speaker 4 (18:40):
I think I think SGA will win it this year,
even though he shouldn't.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Vote fatigue And that's not saying like you said.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
You know, he is a fantastic player, right the best
young player in the NBA right now. But Joker is
just doing things that have never been done before in
the history of the NBA. You got to give him
your MVP vote.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Yeah, yeah, I I hardly agree. We come back, We've
got Rick Lewis, color analyst of your Denver Broncos, and
we'll ask him what the funk is going on?

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Broncos Country nine k with.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
All right here with you, Grasmith back there behind the
glass five six six nine year text line, go right
off to k coms Froth hotline though, and bring on
Broncos color analyst Rick Lose Rick, What the funk is
going on?

Speaker 10 (19:23):
Hey Ben, Hey Grants? Yeah, what the funk? It's been
a weird day today. I got a tooth knocked out
earlier today.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
What the funk?

Speaker 10 (19:33):
And yeah, I know that. You know. I've competed in
contact sports my entire life. I've been punched in the
faith and hit in the mouth, never lost a tooth
until today.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Well did you at least get a few? Did you
at least get a few hits in?

Speaker 2 (19:50):
I wish I could say it happened in a.

Speaker 10 (19:52):
Street fight on the sixteenth Street mall or something like that. Right,
you're not going to believe it. Still, No, I knocked
a two eating granola. I swear to God, I couldn't
believe it either, man. And you know, I eat granola
all the time, and I'm chopping on this granola, and

(20:15):
all of a sudden, I felt like there was a
rock in my mouth, and I'm thinking, wow, you know
what's in that granola today? And I reached in there
and pulled my freaking.

Speaker 7 (20:28):
Tooth out, and I couldn't believe it.

Speaker 10 (20:31):
Man, I couldn't believe it. My whole life.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
I have never.

Speaker 10 (20:35):
Lost a tooth, and I lose it eating granola.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
I shouldn't be laughing, but I can't. Was this at
least like stale granola that was like harder or something?

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Or was it like one of those, uh, you know,
one of those Nature Valley granola bars that's like, hey,
would you like to eat concrete that we're charitably calling granola?

Speaker 10 (20:52):
You know, it was granola. I got it from Trader Joe's.
It's like my favorite granola. It's crunchy. Yeah, but you
know it shouldn't knock a tooth out. What it did
is it broke a filling. And when the filling busted,
it took about half or two thirds of the tooth
with it. So I got this big gap on the
side of my mouth right now, I'm thinking about maybe

(21:14):
getting the grill or a gold tooth or.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Something gold to gold tooth.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
I think of diamond grill, man, I think of diamond grill.
I think you know, like you, I could put you
in touch. My my brother produced Nellie's album. He could
put you in touch with his grill.

Speaker 10 (21:26):
Guy, Oh, man, Nelly would be perfect. I was I
was online googling pictures of Flavor Flame. He's got a
whole mouthful of gold teeth. And then I saw Little
Wayne's got the coolest grill. Yeah, so I go to
the dentist on Monday. He's gonna fix it on Monday.

(21:47):
So I don't know what it costs to get a
grill or a gold tooth, but I'm gonna find out.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
You should.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
You should definitely go in there and be like serious
with like pictures of like low Wayne, and then I'm
dead serious.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
You need to go and like freak your dentist out
with that.

Speaker 10 (21:59):
That's a great idea. I'm going to do that.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
I'm just saying that's that's that's that's that's the kind
of radio bit that that I'm here for.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
Uh in this said, man, that's actually I hope you're okay.

Speaker 10 (22:10):
I mean, okay, Yeah, I'm fine. It's just it pissed
me off. It's yeah, it's a weird thing to happen. Well,
you're eating a bowl of cereal.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
They haven't built a granola they can take out Rick
Lewis yet. So uh well then I got right back.

Speaker 10 (22:24):
Up, man, I got right back in the ring.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
My fantasy football team now is it is going to
be Trader Joe's Granola. Uh, just for for obvious reasons here, Uh,
you know, rigular getting closer and closer to.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
The the NFL Draft. Broncos having kind of a heck
of an offseason. You look at this. They brought Michael
Burton back.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Uh, they added Surefield to take over the rolls that
little Jordan Humphrey.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
And Treymont Smith that they're gone. They added of an Ingram.
Of course, everybody knows about Vanga and Dreid Greenlaw. Broncos
don't really look like they have too many holes.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
On the roster as they enter this draft and can
kind of draft on luxury.

Speaker 10 (23:00):
Oh absolutely, I think they probably had the best off
season of any team in the NFL. I mean arguably,
you could certainly make that argument. Yeah, they filled a
lot of holes on defense, they picked up a tight end.
I don't think they'll draft the tight end in the
first round, even if one of those guys are available.
I know some people are speculating they may trade up

(23:24):
and take Warren, or if Loveland's there, they'll take him.
I think they're going to go running back. I think
that's one position that they've really missed the last several years,
and I think Marion Hampton is the guy. Some people
might go, well, he might be a bit of a
stretch with the twentieth pick, but I think if the

(23:47):
Broncos love him and he's available at twenty, I think
you take him. That would just really round out this
offense and they'd have all their holes filled if they
do something like that. I know it's a pretty eat
running back class, so you could probably get a pretty
good running back in the second round, third round even

(24:08):
but I like Campton a lot.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Yeah, I do too. That's one of my favorites in
this draft class. I'm kind of hoping he'll be there
at twenty because I think that would be the move.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
And I'm with you, I do believe that running back
is probably the general direction they'll go, orly could.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Be defensive line. If the running back isn't there there's
a few, you know, kind of options.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
I think, Well, the one thing I don't see them
doing is trading up, and that's been something that's been
speculated on social media. I think they have the luxury
of being able to sit where they are and let
the draft come to them.

Speaker 10 (24:36):
Yeah, I agree with you, And like I said, there's
some mock drafts that have the broncost trading up. I
don't see it. I think they're happy with the guys
they got in free agency number one. At number two,
they're going to get a good player at twenty. They
could just sit in twenty and get a good player.
You mitched the defensive line. I like the wide receiver

(24:57):
out of Arizona Te McMillan. I don't think they need
a wide receiver. What did they draft to last year?
But I don't see that happening. But if he's available,
you might take a look at somebody like that because
he would certainly add to the weapons that bow Knicks
is going to need. You know, it's just fun minute.

(25:17):
It's such a fun time of the year, especially when
you're coming off a playoff season like the Broncos. And
you guys saw the over under that came out this morning,
nine and a half of the Broncos Man and I'd
like the I like the over on that the over Broncos. Well,
thank you. I think the Broncos really done a fine
job of building this football team, and I think they've

(25:40):
rebuilt it way faster than just about anybody could have anticipated.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Yeah, I think I'm talking with Ricklouis, Broncos color alist, right.
You know, I think I think the thing that makes
the draft more exciting and less nerve wracking is you
found the quarterback, or at least you think.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
Yeah with Bo Nicks, right, I mean they think they
found the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
We're gonna we're gonna find out in your two you
know this sophomore, how he gets gets through that, gets
over it, excels and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
But do you think you found the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
It's about building an offensive identity around that guy, and
that's a lot more exciting than uh, can Teddy Bridgewater
carry us for a year?

Speaker 10 (26:14):
Yeah? Yeah. Just to name one or maybe six quarterbacks
that have played the last couple of seasons for the
Denver Broncos. Yeah, they finally got their guy man, so
you don't have to worry about that. I think bo
Nicks prove that he is the guy. Now, you just
build a team around him and you've really got something.
I think the most intriguing part of the draft coming

(26:37):
up is where Shador Sanders is going to go. Then,
you know, with the Giants downing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston,
I don't see them taking Shador Sanders. And if Shador
Sanders drops a couple of you know, a couple of
places in the first round, he may drop quite a

(26:58):
quite a bit, you know, maybe even to the teams
and low twenties possibly, What do you think, where do
you think he's going to go? That's that's the one
I'm really interested in.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
Yeah, I when I.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Was up with the Combine, I had dinner with some
people from from that organization, and I knew they were
going to take multiple wax at the quarterback position. I
still think they're in the market for a quarterback, whether
that's should do or whether that's somebody a little bit later.
They're only paying on Jameis Winston's it's like five eight
million dollars something like that. They're paying Russ the base
on that's like ten and a half million dollars. I
believe that they're going to draft the quarterback as well,

(27:31):
and it could be Shador Sanders.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
I would not be surprised.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Here was something that somebody kind of floated me today privately,
somebody that works in the league. What about the idea
that the Giants would take Travis Hunter at three and
the Shadour falls trying to trade up with the Broncos
to twenty and get him and reunite the boat those
guys up there, you know with that.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
So there's there's some there's some stuff out there right now.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
I still believe the Giants could be in play for
shoudor Sanders Well.

Speaker 10 (27:55):
I like the way you put that, and I think
that would be a better strategy than take him that high.
And we're gonna have to see what Cleveland does too.
I don't think Cleveland takes him. They they're probably, you know,
playing a good game of poker right now and trying
to make people think that they've got their auients. Huduur.

(28:16):
I think I think maybe they're looking to to get
the Carter out of Penn State, but you can kind of.
Chaudor is really the biggest chess piece I think in
this first round and what's going to happen with him,
But it's going to be really interesting. It seems like
his dad wants him to play for the Giants. I
don't know if his dad knows something, but he's been

(28:38):
pretty open, you know, with that that that's their target team,
and who knows. Maybe maybe they told them, but I
don't think that happened, and I do not think the
Giants will take them.

Speaker 4 (28:50):
Rick, before we let you go use In addition to
your huge red rock show coming up on April thirteenth
with the Rick Lewis Project, you're playing a new TV
show on Channel nine?

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Is that right?

Speaker 4 (29:01):
And I guess the real question is will your toothcap
be filled by them?

Speaker 10 (29:07):
That would be the perfect time to break out the grill,
wouldn't it on television?

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Well?

Speaker 10 (29:14):
Man? So yeah, I meet with the Dennis Monday and
I'll bring in a picture of Lil Wayne and see
if I can get a Lil Wayne grill. Yeah, we're
doing there's a new show We're on the premier show
on Channel nine. It's called bands in b They're going

the Red Rocks.

Speaker 1 (30:18):

Speaker 2 (30:19):
So, Rick, looking forward to chat with you again soon
and I'll hit you up offline so we can get
together about that show.

Speaker 10 (30:25):
Yeah, man, see if you can get me a Trader
Joe's endorsement, I'll have my people get on that. Yeah,
work on that. You call your people, man, I'll be
waiting to get a call from them.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
We'll make we'll make that happen. Ricklus is going to
new face a granola for Trader Joe.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
It's gonna be Trader Ricks. I'm just saying, I Rick
appreciate it. And I was doing my back.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
My problem was.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
I wasn't on the on the button on this because
I was I was too shook.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
My recluse is granola story. Yeah, Rick does not have
all his holes filled. Yeah, oh my.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
God, this is yeah, this is already off the rails
five six, six, nine zeros and text line dow uh
Trader Joe's. I had to start calling Trader Joe I
like the Trader Ricks. Yeah, I'm just saying, like Trader Ricks.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
I'm gonna yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
I don't know if Rick's the listener or not, but
I was telling Temper to the break, I know this
company that'll do like the novelty gifts and stuff like that,
and I'm gonna have a cereal box made a granola
box made up with like Ricks. Picture but I'll use
the UH. I'll use like ed Helm's teeth from UH
from from a hangover where he gets the tooth pulled
or whatever, and be like Rick.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Lewis's you know.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
Crunchy Girl, Extra Crunchy Grill or extreme crunchy Grolla with
a Trader rix Low Trader ricks on there. So I'm
gonna I'm gonna get that made up for him. I'm
gonna go give it to him. If the the red
Rock Shehell'll give up a box of crunchy granola. You see,
we're done. We're doing because temper like we both love gorola.
Like I love granola. I like the granola with like
the dark chocolate, the little pieces of dark chocolate in it.

(31:58):
Just eat it right out of the bag. Now, like
now I'm worried that like I'm gonna chip a tooth
or something. It looks like you know Jim Carrey and
Dumber Dummer.

Speaker 11 (32:07):
Or Rick Lewis in real life. He's on fire. He's
an alien right between the eyes.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
Oh we got Cooley Rori's gonna join his Top of
the Hour, get a chance to talk about why bringing
Michael Burton back such a big deal as where within.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
A month now the draft.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
Get his thoughts on that post free agency thoughts on
what's going on with with with the Denver Broncos five
six six nine zero is the text like lots of
comments on ricks?

Speaker 1 (32:40):
Oh god, uh said.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
It to a losing teeth while eating somebody's get old?

Speaker 3 (32:45):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (32:45):
Now, Rick and whistle while playing the drums or Broncos
call whistle you work?

Speaker 1 (32:50):
That's quality.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Just I'm mean, they're on fire so many I can't
read them all, so I apologize, but there's so many.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
There's so many here.

Speaker 9 (32:58):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
The nine on force is a Rocky been competitive in
twenty years. They should retire his stupid bleep and fold
up the club and send it to some city that
demands more of their baseball than Denver does. That is
a jaded fan right there? What else we got? Bryan says,
ricklus is sensational. Of course he is. He's ricklous. The

(33:19):
tongue will find the broken tooth. I mean, yeah, I guess,
I guess what happens. It's like, you know, get just automatically.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Kind of does.

Speaker 4 (33:26):
By the way, to that Rockies jaded fan, I feel
your pain. But they made the playoffs in twenty eighteen,
so like it hasn't been twenty years since they've been good.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Yeah, but I mean twenty eighteen is only what let's
let's seven seven, eight years ago. Yeah, it starts.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
It's funny. The other day somebody was.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
Pointing out, like your perception of time, and uh, like
if they you know that seventies show, like the gap
in between the actual seventies and that seventies show is
shorter than the Like if you were to do that
show now for it to be the same kind of
time distance having passed, you would have to do like
that two thousand and five show.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Like that's like we're old every day. I've got a
reminder that I'm old.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
Yeah, well you know, since COVID, I don't believe time
is real anymore.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
Yeah, time's not real. Time is a flat circle. We'll
all circles are flat? Are uferring? Just sphear it's a
line from a TV show? Yeah, I know what it is.
It's a lot, Nick Petzi Letty Stole. It's a lot.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
Yeah, I think for those who've seen True Detective Season one,
which is where that that line is from.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
But the writer has been.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Incredibly accused of plagiarism several times. Yeah, but I mean,
you know for what he for lines that he took
from Thomas Loggotty. If you've ever read Logotti's worked, and
you kind of understand because a lot of the stuff
in that See, that's why the the subsequent seasons all

(34:57):
of a sudden, you know, it's just him writing it
and not lifting stuff from other people. And it was
not nearly weird how that happens. You copy the greats
and then there you go. So, uh, we got Cody Roark,
We come back Zax Seegers. Also next hour, i'ts talk
about his new article up on ka website talking about
the Broncos running back situation. Rob Bean also good a
Joye in the eight o'clock hours. This is a Broncos
