we got two pairs of Rockies home Opener tickets to

(00:23):

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Nick ferguson how you doing on this snowy Thursday.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Don't call it snowy because this is uh a white out? Well,
this is spring in Colorado. Yeah, so so technically it's
it's raining. Yeah, it's raining outside somewhere. Yeah, But but
is this not the perfect Denver Haltitu spring weather? Is

(00:52):
this not?

Speaker 1 (00:52):
I know?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
I know Grant who loves the skiet.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yes, Grant is loving this. I, on the other hand,
who would like it to be a balmy sixty eight
to seventy two and sunny every day and am hating
this also because of my drive home.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Well, it's going to be seventies next week. That's the
beauty of Colorado.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
There you go, that's what's good for my ski trip
this week.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
This is beautiful Denver, Colorado, spring, rent weather.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Your snow guy here, a winter guy. You're like the
snow well, you know, I wasn't always that from Miami.
How are you a stroke on?

Speaker 3 (01:25):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Every place I played it was snow well yeah, I
mean so it was snowing in July and Saskatchewan. So
I'm just kind of them falling in love with the
winter weather. Okay, yeah, Now, I just got to get
you on the slopes if I didn't have to work. Yeah,
you get real. You see a Miami out there on
the slopes. Listen.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
I am not supplying entertainment for anyone on the slopes.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Did you think about it?

Speaker 1 (01:51):
And the thing about skiing is when you go back,
you forget about muscles that you have.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
After the first time you go skiing in a while,
you're like, oh, oh, there's that muscle, because you don't
use them for any other action. Literally don't use it
for anything else. So you just years after like, oh,
I'm sore all over. I feel like I've been in
one hundred car recks.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
You know, I said, here's what I understood about skiing, right,
it is my full understanding of it. The guys that
perform my surgery, my knee surgery, guess where they have
a lot of their surgical hospitals in all those places.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Brent, you love the ski, so my radclose proximity for
all the people coming off the mountain with the knee age.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
So you come right off the mountain running it right.
They got you, yes, yes, thank god they got your covered.
So because of that, then I don't ski.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
This is an investment opportunity for the three.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
We can start our own like knee knee clinic right
up there off the you know, you come right off
the slopes right there. They got a lot of them
already up there. We'll letg them out five six six
zeros text line. You guys will get involved the conversation.
Big show tonight. Niki Hward's gonna join a six thirty
talk a little bit about set protatum.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Are you and I? Nick will be out there. We
got all the little both set up. Yes, sir, I'm
excited to be fun. So I'll set a network at ESPN.
That's it. Pro day.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Yeah, can't get can't get that kind of covered anywhere else. Uh,
We've got Parker Gabriel coming up eight oh five tonight,
and that'll be fun get a chance to talk to him.
I'm not I don't know if I want to jump
right into this hot button topic or not, because apparently
it's a hot button topic of the group chat. I
didn't realize it was gonna be as hot button as
it is. I didn't realize how wrong you were. Well,
I mean, that's just because you misread it. If you

(03:24):
read when I said correctly, you'd realize I'd be right.
Carmelo Anthony's getting inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Good for him. Now, grant inform you of something that
I actually I did not know. Did you not know?
I did not know that?

Speaker 1 (03:37):
That includes also your collegiate accomplishments. It's not just the
Pro Basketball Hall of Fame. It is the basketball Hall
of Fame, so it includes all your accout.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
It's a combination all right things, yes, which at first
glance you overlooked.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
But I still don't know why you're on this.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
I don't like Carmelo and the Basketball Hall of Fame.
I don't please, please explain that to me, because I
don't understand it.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Well, if you go with the if you go with
the college thing, he at least won a championship there.
So you're saying, but he's a compiler. He played twenty
years of pro basketball. He's a compiler.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
You're talking about a guy who lively compiler of what
the compiler.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Points a compiler.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
It was in the same way that I don't know
that Ankwam Bolden belongs in the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Bolden played forever and he is up there in the
yardage totals.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
That's not the same. That's not the same thing it is.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
It's not played forever.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
No, it's not like like a receiver on the opposite
end of receptions, right, that's different because Wes Welker caught
a lot.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Danny mcdola belongs in MODLA, doesn't I think Welker belongs.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Welker was the most dominant receiver while he was out there,
had the most yardage, had the most receptions.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
You look at his numbers compared to people though, even
like Rod Smith.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
But look at the look at the era that he
he invented, the reinvented the slot receiver in the same way,
Chris Harrison.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Because I'm gonna have to have correct you.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Man. My dude in New York, Wayne Quebec, he was
that dude, Quebec Corbette that was the lantern so that
Welker could shine exactly. I'm just more quicker than fast.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
If that makes that makes Welker like sin Astro to
get a comic bookress.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Welker is not a Hall of Fame wide receiver. He's
I disagree on that. He's not. He was the most
Doan receivers era dominant. Yes, they put it.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Almost he let the NFL during his era, Dude he
got He received a lot of targets from bron Brady
because they had to move him into the slot because
when I was playing for the Denver Broncos.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
He was with the Miami Dolphins at the time before going.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
To the Patriots, and he was getting jammed up by
Darren Williams and Chad Bailey, so they moved him into
the slot. It wasn't it's they moved him into the
slot that people actually knew who he was. And a
lot of those statistical numbers receptions came when he was
in New England because guess what, he's in the slot.

(06:11):
There's so much room to work in the slot. Now,
I'm going to give him his credit, right, What was
he a guy as far as receptions aren't concerned, Yes,
but hall of famer. No.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Rod Smith is a Hall of Famer. West Walker is not.
Why not?

Speaker 1 (06:29):
West was the most dominant receiver of his era and
did it out of the slot, in the slot where
you got so much room to onnks just run five yards.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
I didn't conduct give it to you to let your
roam with it? Was that easy to stop somebody.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Wes Welker fifty ninth all time and career receiving yards,
Rod Smith thirty eight.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Yeah, but during his era, in his era, there was
no receiver that caught more balls or had more yardage
of west Walker.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Because he also never won a Super Bowl. Welker Welker, No,
Remember they lost to the Giants. Remember Tom Brady last seam?
Any of those rings? No, none, not a single one.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Oh, he wasn't on the wasn't on the Yes that
might take some of the window. Yes, yes, once again
a no for me, dog On Wes Welker. Now back
to mellow mello. Is when you look at NBA all
time leading scores or n scores. But as far as points,

(07:30):
Mello is tenth right in front of Mellow by three
hundred points. I do believe. I'm not looking at it
in front of me. I think it's Shaquille O'Neil. Right
behind Mello is James Harden, Right, Shaq is a Hall
of Famer. When James Hard retired, he's going to be
a Hall of Famer two as well. So the only

(07:51):
thing that most people there's a couple of things here
in Denver that people don't like about Mellow, the fact
that he left. There are people that he was still
all but people here are still chat because of that.
And then George carl who had some negative things to
say about Melo because of his first meeting with Melo.
He told Melo, hey, man, I think you overrated. Right,

(08:15):
he told Melo you overrated. And Mellow doesn't play defense,
And I'm not going to hold it against Melow because
he wasn't a lockdown type of dude. I mean, there's
a lot of guys playing in the current NBA who
don't play defense. They're not two way players. Yes, it's
not a two way player. We're not talking about Kawhi
Leonard a two way player. There are not too many
guys in the NBA who were two way players. And

(08:38):
what I believe right above Shack, I believe Kevin Durant
is right up there as far as scoring points.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
So Melo did his thing. He was a spot up shooter.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
The defense was not one of his things, right, but
he deserved to be there because the idea basketball score man.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
He didn't play defense, he didn't rebound. What you just saying,
But I can find guys.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
It's DeMar DeRozan has the same roughly the same profile
in terms of wind shares because he did more on
the court. Is Jeff Horniseck scored points? Is Jeff Horniseck
and Firn Fall and the pantheon of scoring leaders in
the NBA. Sis didn't play for twenty years. Come on, man,
I'm just saying he didn't play for twenty years.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Well, Lebron played for a long time, so we're going
to discount his points too.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
I mean, Lebron at least was the MVP and led
the league a few times, like one time, and in
that season was the closest he ever got to an
MVP when he finished third in the voting.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Other than that, he never even finished in the top tag.
So what's the.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Criteria like like when we look at guys going into
the Hall of Fame. That's all this criteria that everyone
comes up with. For some instets then for others is MVPs,
pro bows, super Bowls. But for me, I don't measure
by that. What did you do in your time? And
like you said, Mello put the ball in the cup.

(09:58):
Give him the ball putting cup. Score points.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
That's the thing. He's a one dimensional player. Again, did
he score points?

Speaker 1 (10:06):
So he was really good at that one dimension exactly
for a while, and then he wasn't and then he
just kept on playing.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
It doesn't make a difference where the break? Yes, where
does he fall? As far as pointless leaders all time
in NBA?

Speaker 3 (10:19):
I got it?

Speaker 2 (10:19):
That has to count for something.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Well, I mean when you played over you know it
was it, thirteen hundred games in your career, you're probably
mess around.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Half a season.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
When you play that many games, you're gonna you're gonna mess.
If you gave me twelve hundred games, Wow, I'm not
scoring a point at the point you score a couple
of point basket, Yes, that's it breakaway, so it's lay
it up.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Are we kind of splitting hairs here? And we're criticizing
Carmelo for his longevity because he had Olympic career and
he scored more points. That's a problem.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
He had a forty four field goal percentage for his career,
Like I mean, he just took a lot of shots.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
A ton and averaged twenty two and a half over
the nineteen seasons, so on.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Eighteen field goals. So he took a lot of shots.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
He made enough shots to kind of get him number
ten all time scoring in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
I said, that's a hell of a career. I hell
a career.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
I'd say, congratulations, I'm playing a really long time and
getting a lot of Fuck.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Wow, you're being a hater right now.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
But also you you can't discount his impact on the
college game at Syracuse winning their naturally, that's the thing, and.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
You can medal if you count all the other stuff
then I think, which you have an argument, Well, but
I didn't know that at the time, Like I thought
that the Basketball Hall of Fame, I honestly mistakenly believed
that that was a pro pro basketball and only your
pro accomplishments see Mellow.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
I think like, for instance, if.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
You're saying a football Hall of Fame and you would
have put Tim Tebow in it, I'm all for that.
If it includes college, he belongs in the college Football
Hall of Fame, College he.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Does not belong in the profile, does not belong in Canton.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Now hidden is, on the other hand, which is hilarious.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
I'm just saying, you guys want to hear a crazy
stat regarding Mellow.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Yes, games played since the start of the twenty fourteen
twenty fifteen season, the year Joel Embiid was drafted and
Carmelo Anthony's twelfthy year in the NBA, Mello played four
hundred and seventy games. Embiid has played four hundred and
fifty two. Carmelo Anthony has been retired for three years. Yeah,
that's more of a This is more of Agel Embiid

(12:33):
tweet than anything else. Pass that's more of a hatred
of my own for Joel and but the show does.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
The petty Yes, I get it.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
I just like I don't think that Carmelo and he
says nothing to do with it being a nugget or
any any of that portion.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Of it at all. I don't care.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Like I'm think that doesn't affect me one way or
the other. It might affect that doesn't affect me one
with the other. I just think Mellow was a one
dimensional player. I think he was great at that dimension.
But like how many of his teams won? He was
such a great score that, how many of his teams
won NBA Championship?

Speaker 3 (13:02):
But been to say that, wait a minute, Wait a minute,
wait a minute to say that, now you have to
look at some of the teams that Mellow was on
and if and I'll start right here, but I'm not
gonna look at the Trail Blazers. I'm not even going
to look at the Lakers, right I'll look at the Necks,
and I'll look at more importantly, the Nuggets to Denver Nuggets.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
And I'm gonna.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Blame George car for a little of this, because there
was always there was always teams standing in a Nuggets way,
and the Lakers seemed to be one of those teams
led by Kobe Bryant. But George Carr kind of threw
some gasoline on the fire in an All Star game
where he sat Kobe in the fourth quarter and Kobe said, right,

(13:44):
this is I'm not not urbating them paraphrasing here. The
Nuggets would never get to the championship as long as
I'm playing. And every time Kobe played, George called Denver Nuggets.
He made sure that Carl knew. And that's the thing
that kept him out. It's almost like back in the day, Well,
Michael had the Pistons and that was the team that
kind of kept him out. So Mellow couldn't do everything

(14:06):
by himself, because yes, with Melo, kind of a one
trick pony, a spot up shooter, Don Righty was but
he was great at doing what he did, but he
didn't play a lot of defense. Now, if he did that,
maybe the outcomes would have been different. But to just
blame Mellow for that, I'm gonna say, no, you got
to put a little of that on George.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Calls as well. Staff for you, Okay, because Luggas teams
were loaded. You had Ai and Chauncey and the Nay Kenyon.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
They were better with Andre Miller than Ai. And I'm
one of the biggest AI fans of all time. So
you said, Carmelo Anthony's field goal percentage forty four point
seven percent for his career. I think that's right, Kobe
all timer best were the best ever, right, his career
field goal percentage forty four point seven percent.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Cobe fleet defense. You know what, see see Ben keeps
moving the gold pall ye here or if you're if
you're out there, you know, I didn't.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Know I was going to do a show with Ryanettish today.
I had no idea I was going to do a show.
How He points to Kobe having his career more than
more than Carmelo.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
Yes, also shot the ball more than Carmelo, just saying
we're doing the scoring thing. Carmelo averaged more rebounds than Kobe.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Well, Kobe was a guard, you know what for the last.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
You know, it just stopped grant because everything you toss
out that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Yes, there is going to come back with some was
literally a power forward from his last year with the
knicks On that.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
Was not a powerful He played the four, he paid,
played a big three, and he was they when he
was power forward, they did not have a power forward.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
And I bet if you go look it up right now,
he was listed as a power forward from his last
year with the nicks On, I'm sure he was, but
I mean, that's like calling Joker a sinner when he's
truly a power forward.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
Just because he plays the position doesn't mean that's.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
What he is. Grant is right on I'm right with you, Grant.
Let's see how far Ben is committed to moving this
go post.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
I'm not moving anything you telling you, Like, if you're
doing it strictly on a pro basketball I'm not putting
him in the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Think about what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
You saying strictly on basketball, pro basketball, pro basketball. What's
the premise of pro basketball? What's the premise? What's the
idea to win games?

Speaker 2 (16:29):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Also, in order to win games, what do you have
to do that's essential part of the game itself.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Limit your opponent to scoring points, No, so that you
wind up with one or more points than they do.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
That's the aspect of the game. Limit your opponent to
playing defense.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Apparently those who are playing defense opted to play defense
against Carmelo.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Carmelo won a lot of those contests because he is
tenth on the all time scoring list in the NBA.
My problem with him was he didn't win a lot
of those contests. Spike being tenth on that list in
the NBA. And that's sort of my problem. He is
on the list.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
It may be a problem for you, but you can't
dispute what those facts are. The numbers are the numbers.
We can talk about his lack of defense, which he
didn't have a strong prowess for, and we can we
can do that by a lot of players in the NBA,
Like when we look at Steph Curry.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Curry, his biggest criticism was he his ankles. He's thinned,
he's light, he's not physical.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
And guess what, he didn't play great defense. His defense
is better now, but guess what, he shoots your lights out.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
You're putting Martin Rosen in the Hall of Fame. Yeah,
we'll put what if he's on that list of scoring.
That's only if he's on that list, he's got to
that list.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
No, he's not on that list, probably like he's nowhere
on that list scoring.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Yes, he's in the top thirty all time. Let me
look that up. I bet I'm look it up. I
bet top thirty, top thirty.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
You say, yeah, amichon that he's like top thirty, gotta
be he's twenty seven.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
Okay, Well there you go top thirty, he's twenty seven behind.
Guess soon, Uh, it's the NBA himself to be Jerry
West West.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
So with that said, he on that de mar de
Rozan is a better player than Kobe was, I mean
the not Kobe's mellows.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
They guess what he's on the list. So guess what.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
In the NBA, it's about scoring buckets? Can you put
the ball in the cup? And if you're on that list,
where the mar De Rozan in that mir raise game
that no one can seem to stop?

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Guess what? Buckets?

Speaker 4 (18:39):
Also, no MVPs and no rings for Demark de Rozan either. Yeah,
that kind why you're holding against Carmel Anthony.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
What I'm getting at is DeRozan's a better player. Still
doesn't it still has the empty calorie stats. At least
he did bore Okay at somebody like okay, what about
like Joe Johnson? No, hell now they're the same player. Noo,
Joe's on the list. Then that's what you're missing.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
That's because Joe wasn't starting career.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
Because this because that I'm saw calling you, uh been,
because that's what we saw calling you that been?

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Because sure Ben, because I'm right, it's a hyphenated last name.
I six six text. I think, guys, we've got a

Speaker 2 (20:03):

The text line nine Sevenosa's look at Mellows assists, I
didn't realize they were that bad.

Speaker 2 (20:09):

Speaker 1 (20:14):

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Don't mess with his dog, right, I was just saying.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
He called it and we just gave him the tickets,
like we didn't even bother wit. Okay, I misheard john
congratulations and Joe Win jo Win. I think he said
John Wick, and I was like, what happened?

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Man? You steal his car?

Speaker 1 (20:35):

Speaker 5 (20:58):

It's really coming down right now in the Denver metro area.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
Yeah, it's just calm down a little here.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Far. There was a white out for a minute. They're
just calmed down a little here. So who knows, Maybe
I'll stand a chance of actually getting home tonight. We'll
figure that out. This won't effect the Pro Day tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
A lot of that going to be indoors.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Obviously, Nick and I will be down there, and you
think you'll be down there as well. As far as
this Pro day or is they're calling gonna showcase goes,
What do you think we can expect out of this?
We're gonna get We're gonna get to see maybe Travis.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
Hunter running a forty maybe maybe a little bit more shoulder.

Speaker 6 (21:30):
I mean that's the question, right, What will Travis Hunter
participate in?

Speaker 5 (21:33):
Same with Shador? Of course we're going to see Shador
doing the throwing drills.

Speaker 7 (21:36):
This is the event. The media, the NFL, everyone's really
been anticipating the two best and one of the best
players in college football and Travis Hunter participating. Putting final
measurements in and a full assessment on overall.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
More or less of the season. What are these guys
going to do in this day? And I really think
I think we're going.

Speaker 7 (21:55):
To see Travis Hunter. We would like to see a
Travis Hunter forty. But he is honestly a lock for this.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
Draft and for any team in the way that it's
shaking out.

Speaker 7 (22:03):
He really has full freedom to, you know, ultimately do
whatever he wants. But I think he will be should
or Standers wide receiver of course, and I should is
going to have to have such a huge day tomorrow.
He really wants to flash the chemistry, the accuracy and
what better guy to catch the ball than Travis Hunter.
So we will see Travis Hunter participating and should Or Standers.

Speaker 5 (22:26):
Throwing bill at throwing drills and being the end zone
for him. But in terms of the.

Speaker 6 (22:30):
Other extracurriculars, who knows. But we all know what kind
of player Travis Hunter is.

Speaker 5 (22:34):
Of course, the try the Heisman Trophy winner, and he
can ultimately participate in whatever he wants. But I think
with should Or he will be on the end of
his targets tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Well, Nikki, we've been discussing this at nausea and Van
and I over the.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Past couple of weeks, and I have to ask you
this as an indivision to cover the bus as well.
I mean, we've heard a lot about Chador sliding in
the draft, so I'm thinking, okay, well, what is it
that he needs to do tomorrow with all eyes on
Boulder that will somewhat change those narratives.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
What do you think he needs to do? Maybe one
or two things that you.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Feel as though he must do to make sure after
tomorrow's events or showcase the narratives a little different.

Speaker 5 (23:20):
I mean, of course, we saw cam Ward's pro day
and the season that he has.

Speaker 7 (23:24):
Shoot Or Standers and cam mord are competing for the
number one spot Earlier, you know, in the season, Shudor
Sanders said he wanted to be the number one quarterback
off the board, and like you said, he is kind
of slipping in those draft picks.

Speaker 5 (23:35):
But I think it's due to not him having.

Speaker 7 (23:37):
A proin I think tomorrow is going to be a
really big key in showing his accuracy, his timing.

Speaker 5 (23:43):
A lot of what cam Moore did.

Speaker 7 (23:45):
Was really expert drills and elite drills with his wide receivers,
kind of showing those same flayers, showing that he can
he has a really strong arm, he can throw it
down the field. He's able to operate under rest, and
I think we've seen that all season, like shod Or
Sanders is one of the most prolific passers in this draft.
Of course, four thousand passing yards and he was sacked
forty two times, which is the most out of all conference.

(24:07):
You'd imagine, you know, in a regular setting, if he
had a good offensive line in front of him, he
can operate so well he and he still was able
to have such a successful college season even being pressured
so many times.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
Yes, some of his sacks were you know, questionable, maybe
he was holding on for the ball too long. But
I think he can really shore up a lot of
those questions around him tomorrow with a good a good
passing showing and showing NFL NFL scouts that he can
be the guy that can really change cultures. I mean,
you see Tennessee is waiting for maybe looking at cam

(24:43):
Ward a little bit more cleveland. A duel Carter.

Speaker 7 (24:45):
I can't imber Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and should door
standers all in one quarterback room is mighty interesting.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
To me, But I think tomorrow is really going to
be where.

Speaker 7 (24:54):
Should or standards is able to level himself with cam
Ward right now and be one of the favorites.

Speaker 5 (24:59):
And he just needs to be accurate.

Speaker 7 (25:01):
He needs to flash what he's been doing all season.
He's the reason why Colorado has such a drastic turnaround
the elite level of quarterback play.

Speaker 6 (25:08):
And he just needs to be himself and put a
couple of fancy.

Speaker 7 (25:12):
Throats to Travis Hunter, and I think he'll be a
okay and maybe making a better case for himself.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
With Nikki Edwards the editor, Yeah, who's Forest peat runner
for Sports Nation? NICKI, you know, who are some of
the other players who should have an eye on tomorrow.
I mean, obviously there's another Sanders that's probably going to
be working out there.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
You got the receivers, Western Horn.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Who are some of the other guys that we should
have our eyes on, just beyond the marquee names.

Speaker 8 (25:38):
This guy and I'm just going to emphasize this the
most because he did not get an invitation to the
NFL Combine, but he was one of the most pivotal
and game changing pieces and Robert Livingston's defensive past season
Cameron Stillman Craig.

Speaker 7 (25:51):
He led the bust and tackles. He's great in blitz packages,
he's good in the run in the past. He's such
an effective safety. He's also a leader on the defense.
It's just someone that I really think should be put
on a pedestal. He was such a pivotal part in
making this defense to what it is, really bringing the
guys around.

Speaker 5 (26:09):
Him, and he is such an effective player. He had
an interception, ten tackles for lock, ten tackles for lost,
two stacks, and one forced fumble, and three pass breakup.

Speaker 7 (26:19):
He really does it on the front of the field
and even in the back of the field. Yes, he
isn't maybe getting the NFL flash.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
But I think tomorrow is going to be a good day.

Speaker 7 (26:26):
For him to have NFL scouts to have him on
his sites because he is just such an important player.

Speaker 5 (26:32):
And similarly, it's like him and Travis Hunter, but he
was such an important piece of Colorado's defense and a
guy that is just not really getting a lot of
action right now, so I'm putting him at the top
of my list. BJ Green as well. Of course, Asu transfer,
and he was so.

Speaker 7 (26:48):
Important in Colorado's efforts and stopping the run. On the
average one hundred and fifty one rushing yards per game
last year, which is around you know, in the.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
Middle of the FBS. But BJ Green, he was such an.

Speaker 7 (26:58):
Important piece and rushing the quarterback getting into the backfield.
Twelve and a half, twelve and a half tackles for lost,
seven and a half sacks, thirty three total tackles, thirteen
TV hurries too fumbled for us.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
He just puts up numbers. He is such an aggressive.

Speaker 6 (27:14):
Guy and a guy that had you know, multiple starts
and is.

Speaker 7 (27:18):
Really such a crucial piece in that front. Of course,
you see Jimmy Horn Junior also choose Wonkquo, what.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
An amazing nose tackles. Speaking of stopping the run him
Todose Wankquo, BJ Green, two guys that were just lethal
on the buffs front and were able to you know,
maybe I won't reference in the brassa game, but slowly but.

Speaker 6 (27:39):
Surely that I would buffs some pass rush was better because.

Speaker 5 (27:43):
Of these two guys.

Speaker 7 (27:45):
Jimmy Horn Junior of course ran in the NFL combined
team with the Jhonta Wester. There I do see maybe
at an NFL future for them playing on a special
teams role, being returners for teams, and maybe hopefully through
some more reps they can get, you know, a starting
role wide receiver. They're both really fast guys, are both
good on the perimeter, they can write teams, a little
bit of speed, good in screenplays.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
And I like both of them as well.

Speaker 7 (28:09):
But yeah, on the defense of all the guys, we
should look out tomorrow the guy that didn't get a
lot of praise, Cameron, philm and Craig look out for him.

Speaker 5 (28:16):
He is going to be I think a sleeper pick.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
Nick.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
I'm glad you brought up to wide receivers because I'm
eager to see these guys go out there and work out.
And you talk about Jimmy Horn, and Jimmy was kind
of limited down the stretch due to the injuries. But
there's other two of the guys that I'm willing, you know,
I want to really see tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
There's Johont Wester and Will Sheppard.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
And Will Sheppard especially because he has that prototypical NFL
size at six y three and we saw him make
some acrobatic catches. I mean, for him, I know there's
never been a lot of conversation about him and Lejohonte Western.
But how does these two guys, knowing as everyone's there
to see Travis and shoudor, how is it that these

(29:00):
two guys make themselves stand out amongst that pack?

Speaker 5 (29:05):
I mean, just I think ultimately put on a show
show Leadontay Western. I mean, he's known for his speed,
similarly with Jimmy Horn Junior.

Speaker 7 (29:12):
But Lejhontay Western, as I mentioned, was so effective on
the perimeter.

Speaker 6 (29:16):
He's able to break tackles even though.

Speaker 7 (29:18):
He's not you know, that maybe sizable guy. He was
one of the most crucial wide receivers that the Boss had.
Of course he was able to force overtime against.

Speaker 6 (29:26):
Taylor, and that harl Verry was Shoud or Sanders. I
think tomorrow they just really need to show their versatility.
We've seen Lejhontay Western and Will Shepherd. Will Shepherd, of
course he does have the NFL size as you mentioned,
but he wasn't maybe on the headlines as much as
Travis Hunter and le Johntay Western were. But Will Shepherd,
Le'johntay Western, Jimmy Horn Junior.

Speaker 5 (29:47):
They were all such crucial pieces in that four man
ten personnel set that Pat Sheverer loved to run.

Speaker 7 (29:54):
They were so effective in their own rights in certain
different packages in certain games. I mean John Jay Wester
and Will Sheppard. Will Sheppard's going to be a really
good slot receiver. Same with Jimmy Horn Junior.

Speaker 6 (30:05):
They just have a lot of versatility and have played.

Speaker 5 (30:07):
In multiple spots where you can utilize them in different.

Speaker 7 (30:10):
Ways, and I think they need to display that tomorrow
and a Shooter or Sanders during drills.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
Nicky, we we appreciate it. Looking forward CD out there tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (30:18):
Yeah, it's moving forward to it. Thank you for having
me on.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
Absolutely, Take care.

Speaker 1 (30:21):

going on. We had to meet at the table, duel
things out, you know what was going on there.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
I just wanted to hear your Keanu and impression again, like, well,
I'm Keannie Reeves.

Speaker 7 (31:16):
Terrible.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
No, it's not terrible. That sounds like speccoli. That's what
it sounds like, like Marphius. Just because you say light
in front of your phrase, he sounds like Keanu and
Bell and Teds. You tell, it's all wrong, you tell,
and you do it again. Just stab you in the

(31:38):
face of the Saturday Yard. It's probably my best one,
and it's still terrible.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
And the Christopher Walking I never tell every time the
story of the Jay Moore and I were on the
show doing the dueling Christopher walking.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
No, oh yeah he was.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
He was out here for Broncos camp for something and
uh he came and sat down and he'd like, I
heard you do Christopher walking.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
He's like, you know, I gotta walk in and so
we sat there.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
We called it a walking off where we're sitt there
a dual dueling Christopher walking impersonations. So anyway, you guys
went to win those tickets three go, three, one, three,
eighty five, eighty five.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
We got one more pair to give away.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
So CALLI five now, and I see the phone lighting
up as Grant's juggling stuff there, so I'm probably making
him mad a lot.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Of stuff to get to Parker Gabriel gonna join us.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
Eight thirty five. We'll talking a little bit about those
torpedo bats, and I got our big boards. You talking
about running backs here in the next segment, how we
were like the top ten running backs runs right? Running
backs love running backs. I love big backs, and I
cannot lie. Okay, people who know me him known I
like backs and have some size to them. I like
them more than you know.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
I'm just saying I like bigbacks and I cannot lie.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
Let's wrong with that?

Speaker 2 (32:38):
Try to turn that into nick I did you try
to turn it into anything?

Speaker 1 (32:41):
And it was just kind of a it was kind
of a whate with there got kind of like deritions.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
I didn't say any single things you say, Okay, but
I like where you're going with that? Was that your
cant of impersonation?

Speaker 3 (32:53):
No? No, was it was it? I wasn't.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
I like running backs, man, I love running You can't
win without them. Yeah, I'm with it. Go back, let's
go heavy, let's let's let's do twelve personnel the ball.
Let's go be twenty two personnel, twenty twenty two. We'll
put a fullback and two tight ends on the field.
Keep them fullbacks. Man, No, I don't want the full backs. No, no, no.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
When we come back, Nick Ferguson's gonna talk about how
he hates Mike Burton.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
That's just kidding them.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Skidded Graha jumping over there to thank Wait a minute,
we're coming back.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
We're early. Yeah, we've got a lot to get the
big board saying it's fun. A lot of people love it.
And apparently people really like that segment.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
So we'll continue to do that where we rank a dude,
the quarterbacks gets running backs.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Now we'll do the wide receivers probably Monday.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
I believe Grant's saying, yes, I guess we're going with that.
I take all commands from the tower. So and yeah,
Parker gab we're gonna join us in the eight o'clock hours,
so we'll get a chance to uh talk to me.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
If only you took advice from Nick and myself about Carmelo.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
Anthony, I'm good on that. You could not be Usually even.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
When you're a little bit wrong, you're not completely wrong,
but you're just so far off on this one man,
I think is.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
Taking this position just to be on the opposite side
of something.

Speaker 6 (34:04):
Me.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Yes, I could never ever that sounded so convincing. I
just saw the opportunity of the group too, because you guys.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
Were like all over mellow making the hall of fame,
Like wait, what sums doubt emogi, because that's a.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
Great accomplishment anyone making the hall of fame in any
If you make the hall of fame in your school,
your high school, that's something because guess what.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
Not anyone made the hall of fame.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
I made the Hall of fame for eating three hundred
whoppers at a Burger King. That doesn't guess I'm sorry,
wall of shame.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Yes, that's that.

Speaker 7 (34:37):
Wrong.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
I just love that I had a little bit of
sports knowledge in my brain that you didn't have the
first time. For everything legitimately did not know, did not
know that the Basketball Hall of Fame was not the
pro Basketball Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
I did not know that.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
Learn something to learn something every day. Hey, I can
people tell me that I won't admit to be to you,
you know, to not knowing something. Absolutely every single time,
will admit to not knowing something about I.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
To a certain percentage. I'm literally on

Speaker 1 (35:04):
A microphone on live air admitting that I did not
know the Basketball Hall of Fame included you know all
of that instead of just the proportion she tells you
how much I pay attention to the Basketball Hall of
Fame exactly
