Speaker 1 (00:00):
Seven one nine says, enjoy your work.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Ben intelligence is refreshing in sports analysis. I miss most
of your movie references, but I enjoy your humor. We
probably would disagree on some issues, but service our nation
is much appreciated. My father was a World War II
submarine that oh wow, I bet he's got some stories.
I have a question. Is Drake May as good as
he looks? Keep up the good work Kaoe listener since
nineteen seventy. That's from Doug uh Drake, Drake's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
I think he's just, you know.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Part of that is Josh McDaniels, whatever you else you
think of him. Josh McDaniels a really good offensive coordinator
and he gets the most out of quarterbacks, and I,
you know, I think Drake to a good deal.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Drake May is a good quarterback.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
But I think some of that is Mike Vrabel bringing
a new sense of culture back to the New England Patriots.
I think some of that as Josh McDaniels being a
very good offensive football mind. And then I think some
of that as Drake May being a good football player.
So hopefully that answers your question.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Out the kaw Wait commis Earth hotline and bring on
my guy, Alex Gold.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Alex, how's it going on?

Speaker 4 (00:57):
What's going on?

Speaker 5 (00:57):
Yeah, happy holidays, guys.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
It's a it's a weird it's a weird week for.

Speaker 5 (01:02):
Us in Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
You know, we uh, we've been spoiled with the Chiefs
for the last you know, seven plus years, and this
is the least we've talked about a Chiefs regular season game, uh,
since I've been doing radio in Kansas City at least,
which is about six years in less than some preseason games.
And a lot of that is the product on the field,
and a lot of it is the stadium announcement yesterday

(01:23):
year that the Chiefs are gonna pack up their bags
here in about five years and head across the state
line to Kansas.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Yeah, that's been that's been sort of the thing.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
And as we look at this, you know, I've lived
in Kansas City twice. I know, you know, we're old
eights and how you know the difference in all that
and it's not that far. I mean it's you know,
thirty five to forty minutes, but it's not that far
relatively speaking, but it is kind of a big deal.
I mean, there is a certain nostalgia. There is a
certain sentimentality to the Arrowhead site. The stadium has been

(01:53):
there for what a fifty gosh, fifty three years. I
think I'd have to go maybe a little correct me
on that it's been there for it's been there forever.
I mean, I have growing up memories from Arrowhead. I
was there when Derek Thomas wrote the sack record against
Dave Craig and then the Seahawks came back with four
seconds left. I've been there for games, certain games, and
I did crystallized my love of football.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
It's fascinating to see this.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
It's not as objectively hilarious as the Bears possibly moving
to Gary, Indiana, but it just seems odd.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Yeah right, yeah, no, Look, you're spot on about the
memories though at Arrowhead, and that's the thing.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
We've heard a lot of.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
And I you know, I grew up in Kansas City
and the first stadium I ever went to was Arrowhead.
The first football game I ever went to was at Arrowhead.
You know, my family as a kid had season tickets
up in the three hundred levels. So I have plenty
of memories at Arrowhead. And there's a lot of people
that are upset about this move. You've got a certain group.

Speaker 6 (02:49):
Of people that are just mad because of what you said,
which is.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Hey, unbelievable memories. People here locally view Arrowhead as iconic.
I don't know on a national level if everybody would
agree with that, but certainly locally people believe it's an
iconic venue. I think a lot of it is just
the fans, right that make that up and the tailgating
more than the actual structure.

Speaker 6 (03:08):
But there's been.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
Amazing games and memories there, and then.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
You have a certain group of people that this is
This is a complicated situation to probably explain to people
outside of Kansas City. But not only are their historical
reasons with the border war Kansas and Missouri, but there's
the sports reasons for it. Whether we're talking on the
college level, the pride aspect. There are people on the
Missouri side where the stadiums are located, that that that's

(03:32):
part of their identity, is that their home of the
Kansasity Chiefs, home of the Kansas City Royals. And now
at least one, maybe both. We'll see what happens with
the Royals, but at least one of those teams is
going across the state line, and there's real hate that exists,
even though we're all one case metro area.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
There's a real hate there.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
And so having that stripped away has caused you know,
our texta line and our phone lines to get pretty
heated this week, and people are angry with each other.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Gold and yeah, that's you know, that's sort of the thing.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
I mean, uh, you know, I recognize that rivalry having
lived there before it all that kind of stuff. There's
there's just there's just an element to it that's odd
across the board. And I think the main thing here
is if you're living in Denver and you look at
this thing and you say, all right, wait a minute,
our ownership just decided to not publicly not use a
public dime here, and now you're you're you've got the
Kansas taxpayers on the hook for what looks like eighty

(04:25):
percent of the costs here. Now maybe that's some of
that's debt refinancing. I don't know exactly the numbers on
all that because I don't have that a deal in
front of me, but the original numbers would put it look.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Like eighty percent.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I mean, if I'm a if I'm a chief fan, right,
now I'm looking at this and say, well, wait a minute.
We have one of the top five wealthiest owners in football.
How is Denver getting their ownership to pay for everything?
And we're on the hook for everything that's been brought up. Yeah,
so a couple of things. As far as the Denver thing,
you guys, you.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
Can tell me if I'm off.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
You know, we've seen the zero zero zero dollars public financing,
but my understanding there's still going to be public money
for infrastructure and maybe even some sort of Tiff project
behind that.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
You guys can correct me if I'm wrong, but.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
It's certainly on the On the Kansas city side, what
I can say is it's sixty forty. It's a sixty
percent to forty percent public private and one point eight
billion dollars of public money is going for this new
stadium in Kansas. It's the largest US subsistee for a
sports stadium every by far.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
I mean it is.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
You know, as much as we talk nostalgia, it's business.

Speaker 6 (05:27):
And you know, any.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Owner in the NFL, any business owner period, would have
taken this deal that Clark Hunt, the owner of the Chiefs,
is taking. And sure, I think in a perfect world.
And and if it is the case in Denver, more
power to the Walton family for this. I think all
of them should be paying for their own stadiums. I
just not the world that we typically have been living
in when it comes to financing stadiums. I think you

(05:51):
know your spot on that. You know, certainly the Hunt
family could afford it, there's no question. But man, I
don't know anybody whether I'm more twenty five billion or
twenty five dollars that is not going to take a
deal on what someone's going to give you, you know,
one point eight billion dollars for it, and it's almost
a guaranteed profit because of the way the contract is.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
Going to be structured for the chiefs.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Well, yeah, I and again I hear the ownership. If
you're the Hunt family, you're absolutely taking the deal. I
totally get it from that perspective. The other question I have,
our last question I guess I have about the stadium
portion of this is who's responsible for cost overruns on this?

Speaker 6 (06:25):
So that this is the thing.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Man, there's so many questions that we still have. They
went out and had this press conference on the Kansas
side with the governor and obviously every politicians getting there,
their their menut of fame, tried to get their name
out there, and we've seen the turn sheet and within
that there's not even still a clear explanation about you know,
full repairs.

Speaker 6 (06:46):
And some of the aspects that we've seen on the
Missouri side in the past with renovations.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
So I don't even have a clear answer for you
because they haven't necessarily given the exact detail on potential
cost overruns. There's a three billion dollars stadium, and as
you know, it's a five year project. The good chance
is going to be cost overruns and so my guess
is it's not gonna be the Hunt family that's paying
for that.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Yeah, that's that seems most likely.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
As we headed to the final two weeks in the
season here, I believe that Amazon Prime probably thought this
was going to be and forgive the pun Prime matchup
on Thursday night between the Denver Broncos and the Kansas
City Chiefs when it was rolled out as part of
the schedule, But as we look at it now, Kansas
City eliminated on on their third string quarterback and it's
sort of not reeling at this point, you know, with

(07:31):
the news of the week from from the stadium stuff.
Certainly seems like the fan base has been pretty vocal
about their displeasure. You know, I don't know that this
is a Marquee matchup. None of the Christmas matches look
frankly like marque matchups. But but as as you look
at that, what is the what is the temperature of
the fan base? So are you gonna still turn out
and support the product and h and be there for
Chris Lilicon's debut or is this is this something where

(07:51):
you're gonna find a surprising arrowhead packed full of orange
on Christmas Night.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
The only thing that I think could save the atmosphere
a little bit is that you do have probably a
lot of families that bought tickets, and you know, on
Christmas morning, they're going to have their kids open up
a president it's going to be tickets to go to
the game that night. So I think that might save
a little bit of it. But I'll tell you on
the secondary market ticket prices, I mean, you can get
in pretty cheap. I mean, if you want to go
to the game, you can go to the game and

(08:18):
get in at one of the lowest prices over the
last seven years, and certainly for a divisional matchup against
the team like the Denver Broncos, and so there's no buzz.
I mean, you know, we can usually get a good
sense of that as you know on the radio. What
kind of buzz there is for a game with fans,
And yes, a lot of it is probably because of
the stadium, but so much to do what you just said.
They're down to their third string cornerback. They're number one,
number two or number one wide receiver, I should say,

(08:41):
is gonna not play. It looks like you get in
Rashi Rise, Taekwon Thornton's out, their number one corner and
number two corner out. We all just saw what happened
in Nashville. It was an embarrassing performance. People are kind
of done with this season and wanting to move on.
There's only two saving elements probably and it's the Christmas
and it's that this is likely Travis Kel's these last
game at Arrowhead, and it's a bumber. This is how

(09:03):
it's going to end. But that's the expectation. Those two
things might save it a little bit. But I don't
think any Chiefs fans expecting the Chiefs to bowl off
Christmas Vehracle here.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Talking with Alex Gold. That was the next thing I
was going to lead into you already got there.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Is this Travis Kelsey's last game at Arrowhead. It sort
of sort of felt like last year was going to
be his last game, and then then he's surprised. What
certainly surprised me. I'm not sure if you surprised you
that he decided to come back for this season. Is
this going to be his last game? And is this
the start of a I don't want to say rebuild,
but probably a reshuffle in Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
So as far as Travis, yeah, I think you can
sense it from some of the players that are talking
or talked earlier today as well, and whether it's Travis
himself even on his own podcast. I think everybody expects
that this is it. You're right about last year. I
think going into the Super Bowl, the conversation everybody in
Kansas City was having, all Right, well, if they three
peatd is he just right off in the sunset? Well

(09:56):
then we all know they got embarrassed in the Super
Bowl by Philadelphia, and it was like, there's no way
he's going out like that.

Speaker 6 (10:02):
Well, here we are.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
And this is a reminder that you usually.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
Don't get to go out at the highest level because
this is the worst spot. This is a team that's
not going to make the playoffs, and the team Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 6 (10:12):
Is not going to throw him his last reception.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
You know, it's in fact this all plays out the
way we think it's going to.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
So it's a bummer.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
But I do think this is it as far as
just where the organization is at. I think, you know
the terminology. I think we can go back and forth
on I think it's a retool offseason for sure, though,
Ben I think they've got to step back and hopefully
the fact that it is ending the way it is
so badly with injuries and this cannot just be a
well we had some bad breaks go our way. We'll

(10:42):
get right back after that. I think there's some clear
flaws with this roster. It's you know, certain areas in
the key pillar areas they're aging, whether it's Kelsey, whether
it's Chris Jones who is taking a step back. They
got to make a really tough decision I think in
the offseason on their top quarter in Trent McDuffie.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Are they better.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Off giving him that massive extension and I know they
could play it out with the fifth year option, or
are they better off training him and seeing if they
couldn't get a similar return to what the Jets got
for a Sauce Gardner. I mean, they've really got to
step back personnel wise. They only have about thirty players
or so under contract next year. Mahomes probably due for
a restructure. Matt Naggi, the OC, is not under contract.

(11:20):
Most fans won him out anyway, So there's a lot
of changes coming. I don't think it's a complete rebuild,
but there's definitely got to be some reshuffling.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Yeah, it sounds like as we move forward into next season.
I mean, obviously Mahomes the big time injury. It's gonna
be questionable whether or not he's able to start the
season with the Chiefs. What is the optimism going forward
for this coaching staff and this quarterback.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
So with Patrick Mahomes, I think fans saw the initial
reporting about hey, you know, he's already rehabbing a day
after surgery, and his expectation is he's gonna be ready
week one. I'm sure that's his thought, and I'm sure
that's what the Chiefs. One who wouldn't I'm a little
more skeptical that he's actually ready week one. I have
no doubt about his effort and all that, but you know,

(12:06):
there is still the science to the whole matter as well,
and not playing in training camp and just knowing that
he is your franchise quarterback and the investment that you
have in him, and so you know, if you gave
me over under week three, I would actually probably lean
towards the over still and think that we're probably waiting
till October to see him play. And so they've got
to go out and find a quarterback. And a lot

(12:27):
of people thought, well, maybe that was gonna be Gardner Minshew.
Well he suffers not a torn acl but still a
pretty serious injury. So you know, what does that do?
I think they're gonna have to you know, see what
this this offseason brings quarterback wise, is there's somebody like
Jamis Winston. Is there gonna be a situation where Tua
gets flat out cut and would that be an intriguing
backup if they know he's gonna have to play a

(12:48):
couple of weeks.

Speaker 6 (12:49):
But the coaching staff aspect.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
It's Andy Reid's offense. We know that he calls the plays.
But Matt Nagy in this offense hasn't hasn't improved the
way everybody was hoping. You know, they look like it's
a bit stale, whether it's the message, whether it's the scheme.
And the question that I have and a lot of
people have, is whether or not Andy Reid is willing
to have a new voice come in and I'm on

(13:11):
timeout from his circle. You know, Mike Kafka's name has
come up from the Giants cause they bring him back.
I think they need someone that's not really part of
his circle, which is a tough ask for a guy
that has had a minse amount of success, But they
need a fresh set of eyes because I think it
has gotten a little stale.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
I know, I promise that as the last question, but
that begs a follow up here a little bit. Is
Matt Naggi going to be kept around on the expiring contract?
Is the possibility that you potentially bring Eric the Enemy back?
Not that I'm a big Eric b Enemy fan or
a big fan of his ex's and o's or anything,
but it certainly seemed like that team had a level
of accountability when he was there, that they it kind
of feels like they don't have now like there was
a there was a barking dog on the offense and

(13:48):
that kept guys in line.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
That it almost feels like doesn't exist now.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
As far as Eric Enemy goes. That's what fans consistently
have been bringing up, that the offense was better with
Eric the enemy into a Now Nay, Now, I think
there's way more nuance to it. I only it's that simple. Yes,
statistically the offense has been worse under Matt Naggy, that's
a fact, can't argue it. But also during that you
know that Tyreek Hill's not there anymore. The defenses are

(14:13):
playing this team differently with the two high safety look,
and they just have not been able to adjust.

Speaker 5 (14:17):
There's been a lot of shifts in the league.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
I would argue that running backs are more important now
than they were three plus years ago. If you will
get the top teams in the AFC and the NFC,
they all have explosive backfields.

Speaker 5 (14:27):
The Chiefs don't have that.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
So I don't know if it's all on Matt Naggy,
but his contract expiring.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
He was asked today.

Speaker 6 (14:32):
By a reporter here in town to comment on that.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
And he declined, read into that, how you will? I
take that as this.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
We're probably headed to a little bit of a separation
in the offseason between the Chiefs and Matt Naggy.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
Whether that's because he.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Becomes a head coach or not, I don't know. Eric
the Enemy absolutely was a disciplinarian. I think he was
a voice in the room that wouldn't just go with
the flow, that was willing to tell Patrick Mahomes, hey,
no you're wrong on this, or tell Andy, hey we
should do I said, I think, well, it's great.

Speaker 6 (15:01):
To have a you know, working relationship with everybody.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
Matt Naggie and Patrick Mahomes are very very close in
a weird way. I think that that has been a
little bit of a problem because there's nobody there that's
pushing back with each other when things aren't right and
to hold them accountable. So there's some truth there.

Speaker 5 (15:16):
But I don't believe I'd be stunned.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
If Eric the Enemy was coming back. I think that
ship has sailed.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Probably just it's just a thought that occurred to me.
You know, all here out of the market, Alex, it
always goes too fast. I appreciate you taking some time tonight.
You have happy holidays and a merry Christmas to you
and yours. Man.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Hey, happy holidays to you.

Speaker 5 (15:33):
Been appreciate you guys.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
All right, take care. It's cool Broncos country tonight. We'll
be back after this. I want to send a shout
out to Grant Smith and his lovely wife who got
me a bottle of wine here for Christmas.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Thank you, sir. You're welcome. Sorry didn't get you anything.

Speaker 5 (15:49):
You got me.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
You are welcome to take some of that free iHeart
junk that's in the corner back there.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
You have your pick. It's on me. I've got enough
free iHeart junk. I bought some money. I could come
out some money. We'll see. Your gift to me costs
a lot more than my gift to you. No, it's
the thought that counts.

Speaker 5 (16:06):
Well.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Yeah, as you said, you're took a lot more effort
to min dude. So everybody listening right now, what are
these idiots talking about? Don't worry about it. Let's get
to it. The Week sixteen NFL recap. But of course
we're gonna start off with the wildest game I think
we've seen this year, and that's the Rams at the Seahawks.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
Takes the shot done, Sam reset drop looking looking.

Speaker 7 (16:33):
Fired over the mills, thoughts by a son and look
Soberts and the Seahawks walk it up and sort at
the top of the.

Speaker 8 (16:43):
NFCUS west Wood one is Kate Scott on the call
and man, you were right. What a crazy game and
shout out to former Bronco Soburt pasing the game with
a two point conversion.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
My dad and Kate Kobe At coaching that offense up
in the end. This was a wild game. In fact,
the Rams I thought had it well in control. I
was out with a friend of mine watching the game
and we left. We just died to pack it in
and I let it go since it was out of hand.
Then it was not s Matt Stafford winds up with
four hundred and fifty seven yards, passing him three touchdowns

(17:14):
in a loss against arguably one of the top defenses
in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
And this is something that real quick before we get
some of these other ones.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
People keep telling me, because I keep talking about the
you know, defenses naturally get worse, or get defending gets
naturally more difficult later on into the season as teams
get tape on you and kind of know what your
rules are, right, and they start to figuring out, and
everybody's like, well, how come the Broncos are the only
ones that are getting work.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Well, the Seattle Seahawks just gave up thirty seven points
to the Rams.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
These Houston Texans gave up pois I think twenty one.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
To the Raiders. Yep, it's not.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Just the Denver Broncos that are, you know, that are
having problems here at the end of the season. Great
defenses tend to get figured out.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
That's how that stuff goes. Let's get the Eagles at
the commanders to Saquon Barkley. They put him down at
the twelve yard line. That's where it'll be.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
First down in ten man in motion as Hurts goes
to work, hands it off again for Barkley rush side
Runnick spits inside the.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
Ten, still on his sweet after a hit and he's
into the utte touchdown.

Speaker 8 (18:12):
That called courtesy of Scott Graham with Westwood one and
Eagle's gone back to what does best for them, Sakuon
Barkley running the ball.

Speaker 7 (18:19):
That they did.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Look it over the box score here as Mariota got heart.
Josh Johnson came on and looking over the box scores
this weekend. Between Phil Rivers and Josh Johnson throwing passes,
I had to double check my calendar or what.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Year it was.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Johnson on a relief of Mariota as Chris Collins works
would say five of nine for forty three yards and
the interception. Chris Rodriguez for the Commander's fifteen carries sixty
three yards at a touchdown. He's been their mainstay down the stretch.
Packers at the Bears going to overtime.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
Play fake Williams deep drop, he scans, he unloads deep
off for DJ Moore inside of five, leaks to the
zode over the should.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Text touchdown slippers.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Walk up winners.

Speaker 7 (19:00):
Finally, finally, finally, they were.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
Joye six a cogo.

Speaker 8 (19:04):
Finally, according to Nate Gatder with Westwood One, speaking of games,
you thought that it were over. I was watching it
with my brother in law who's in town for the holidays,
and he's.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Like, who you're rooting for?

Speaker 8 (19:13):
I was like, well, I was rooting for the Bears,
but this game's over. Sixteen to three. Lo and behold
Caleb Williams leading the comeback in overtime, getting the on
side kick recovery too.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
You know, our good friend Chris Daughtry would sing It's
not over and I tweeted that out and he favored
the tweet.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
He didn't have much else to do these days, apparently
not what else we got? Bucks at the Panthers Rice
of the shotgun. Here's the snap, pressure off the edge.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
Bryce dancing in the pocket, tried old fade a sack he.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
Does crows back of the episode, one open touchdown, Carl
line up, j C.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Sanders all alone.

Speaker 8 (19:53):
An East shrof with WRFX on the call.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
And don't look now.

Speaker 8 (19:56):
The Panthers in first place in the NFC South.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
You hype them up, they lose. You sit there and
write them off. They win.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
The Panthers are the team that nobody can call. Whatever
you predict, they're going to do the opposite of that.
They continue to find ways to do that.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
This probably spells the end for Todd Bowles in Tampa.
Just to be honest with you.

Speaker 8 (20:18):
Yeah, known for defense, and their defense isn't living up
to the hype.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Right defense kids, stop anything. The offense has been frankly
on an imaginative this year. Part of that's been injuries
and whatever else. But you've got too much talent on
the offensive side of the ball to only put up
twenty points on the Carolina Panthers Bills.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
At the Browns, another hand off to Cook, fansit back
reaching for the end zone and he's got it for
the touchdown.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
James Cook extends the arm to the goal line and
for the second time this afternoon, the Cook is in
the kitchen.

Speaker 8 (20:49):
Chris Brown loving that Cook in the kitchen. Call this
year WGR on the call and Yeah, I needed a
big day from Josh Allen and Fantasy to get into
the finals, and I did not get it because they
didn't need him to do anything against the Browns.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Yeah, they let find me in a good game though.
They let James Cook. Yeah it was. He really was
a good game, believe it or not.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
They let James Cook to the total hundred and seventeen
on the ground and another seventeen through the air, and
Josh Allen didn't have to much of anything. One hundred
and thirty yards passing, no touchdowns, two sacks the door Sanders,
What a bad game for him really overall, he'd throw
a couple of picks most of the hes, just kind
of taking what the Bills gave him.

Speaker 5 (21:23):
In that one.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
He's still got some things to iron out. But I
don't know, man, somebody's gonna take a chance on him
next year, whether it's Cleveland, whether or not it's somebody yelse.
Somebody's gonna take a chance on him next year. He
finishes twenty twenty nine and a buck fifty seven in
a passing touchdown with two picks, but he did leave
the team in a rushing with four carries for forty
nine yards. The Chargers at the Cowboys and Grant was

(21:45):
sitting here picking Dallas in this one. Hampton in the backfield,
Mit Dad's getting in motion.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
Herbert dance to Hampton.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Hampden fuck sitting the episode touchdown.

Speaker 8 (21:57):
Chargers Matt Muney Smith with KFI on the call, And
I was pretty wrong on this one, Chargers.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
You know it's close at the beginning, but Chargers ran
away with it at the end.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Look, I got an ice box where my heart used
to be because o'marian is leading charge here. And if
you get that reference, you were an MTV watcher in
the mid two thousands. Maaronhampton sixteen carries eighty five yards
and he touchdown. He also caught a ball for ten
yards in that one. Justin Herbert twenty three of twenty
nine three hundred yards two passing touchdowns. He also had

(22:28):
a rushing touchdown. I don't know, man, and Chargers up
against the Texans this weekend. I kind of like the
Chargers chances in that one, the Jets and the Saints
and the Saints.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
Man, it's not a quarterback nearing the red zone shucks
in the shot. John takes the step, looks to his right,
and he's wide open.

Speaker 5 (22:47):
Chorus, Oh.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
A touch damn for Chris.

Speaker 8 (22:53):
A love right cost with WWL on the call. And Yeah,
I think I was not familiar with Tyler Shuck, but
he is. He looks like the real deal. Yeah, he
really kind of has kind of made it his own.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
What a day from Taysom Hill to threw a pass
for thirty eight yards for touchdown, ran twelve times for
forty two yards, caught four passes for thirty six yards
and now that what a nice day for Taysom Hill.
Out there is where Tyler Shog for his part forty
two forty nine, three h eight in the touchdown, including
that to chryst o'lava and with the amount of a
lava coming down the mountains there. I know how the

(23:26):
people of POMPEII felt as he finished with ten catches,
runner a forty eight yards and two tundies.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
Real quick on Taysom Hill.

Speaker 8 (23:33):
First player and NFL history to have a thousand receiving yards,
a thousand rushing yards in a thousand passing yard.

Speaker 5 (23:38):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
You would think Cordell Stewart would have done it, but no,
Taysom Hill.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
The Vikings at the Giants.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
McCarthy's out of the shock, Jordan Addison and motion to
the left. McCarthy back to pass big rushed by the Giants,
JJ gets out of it, runs right, fifteen to ten.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Five touchdown, p jjmup.

Speaker 8 (24:01):
And that's Paul Allen with KFA and and uh yeah
McCarthy with the rushing touchdown. The Vikings win, but uh
once again injured, and we'll get Max Brosmer on Christmas Brosner.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Seven of nine fifty two yards in relief of JJ McCarthy,
who did not throw a touchdown but did throw a pick.
He did run that touchdown in that you heard on
the call there. It'd be interesting to see what they
do here. Yeah, ma, car, they've got to get another
quarterback in there as McCarthy insurance, though, I think with
the Giants in terms of Jackson Dart next year. Both
these two teams are the two fragilist quarterbacks on the
planet and both of them play a style that lends

(24:32):
to injury, So something to keep your eye on with them.
The Kansas City went to Tennessee. It's led out, embarrassed themselves.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
Dam takes the shotgun, Stun takes the handoff and.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Set so just shovel pass head chick a Podo gets
to the full line.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
That Yeah, Titans touchdown.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
That was sweet.

Speaker 8 (24:52):
WGFX Taylor's Oarzar and Dave McGinnis laughing in the background.
Lots to laugh about on Sunday for the Tennessee Titans
getting their first home win of the year against the
depleted Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
Yeah, what can we say about this Kansas City roster
that has not already been said about Afghanistan?

Speaker 1 (25:08):
It looks bombed out and depleted.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Chrysal Lutukan, Yes, that is a real name and not
a Madden Creative player. When eleven of sixteen four one
hundred and eleven yards no touchdowns, did take four sacks
there Gardner Minshew injured early in that when Pacheco managed
eight carries for thirty four yards. Was also the team's
leading receiver with six catches four forty one yards. So yeah,
that's gonna be the Thursday night opponent.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
And if we do all dog walk them.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
Something is wrong with the Denver Broncos there at that point,
the Bengals.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
Miss a hoodie there, Bengals take it on the Dolphins,
who day third down and six.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
The Bengals have it at the seventeen up Miami Burrow
catches a shot gun staff three step drop.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
Throws Kasiki haf the goal line, Fleet's head hauls it
in for the touchdown, Mike Kasiki doing.

Speaker 8 (25:58):
The gritty much to hooda about in the Bengals nation
this year, but that call courtesy of Dan Horden, Dave Lapolman, Wcky,
and hopefully Joe Burrow was having a little fun out
there this week. One hundred and forty six points something
passer rating. If you're not having fun that week, I
think it may be time to Andrew Luckett.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
I was expecting a resounding hooday from Grant as the
Bengals double them up forty five to twenty one, Joe
Burrow twenty five to thirty two, three.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
H nine, four passing touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
They did everything in anything they wanted to all game
against the Miami Dolphins, who rolled out Quinnie Ewers not
terrible at his debut, but not great twenty of thirty
two to sixty no passing touchdowns, two interceptions in that one.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
Falcons at the Cardinals.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
Here's the third and down play.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
Cousins looks coming up with his Pets touchdown Atlanta. He
crossed the line save right across the field at the
goal line and Kirk Cousins put it right on the
eighth for the touchdown.

Speaker 8 (27:00):
We'reight across that going on with West Durham of WZGC
and Kyle Pitts and the Kirk Cousins resurgence in Atlanta.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
Is are going to be enough to save the head
coach's job. Don't know about that.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
I do know that it's going to boost Pitts's chance
of getting a better contract somebody I kind of cautiously eyed.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
For the Denver Broncos, but it looks like Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
You know, that's amazing when you get a competent quarterback
out there who can actually hit a tight end. What
happens instead of the Michael Pennock's nonsense that they were
doing this year. As for Arizona, they drop another one
in their continued soft tank. Another big day from Higgins
the tight end their seven catches for ninety one yards.
Trey McBride not a big factor, although he finally got

(27:42):
he got himself a big.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Pro Bowl bid earlier today. Steelers at the Lions.

Speaker 5 (27:48):
Galen Warren, who gets the handoff left.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Side, cuts back to the right, now cuts back to
the left again.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
Gets to the edge of the forty thirty the twenty
to ten touchdown.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
Chill and Warren another four thirty five yard touchdown for
a Pittsburgh Steelers score.

Speaker 8 (28:04):
Rob game with w dve on the calling for as
wrong as I was about the Chargers and Cowboys game,
I got the Steelers beating the Lions in Detroit right
in the pick them last week and Jalen Moore a
big part of that fourteen carries one hundred and forty
three yards. This game ended on sort of a bizarre
I don't want to say controversy because it was a
really that controversial, but I don't think anybody likes the
refs huddling up for like eight minutes trying to make

(28:26):
a call with the clocks at zero.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
At the clock at zero.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
What I will say on that play, it's very clear
to me that I'm an Ross Brown committed OPI.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
It's textbook OPI.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
He pushes off full extension, knocks the player off.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
Their beaten backwards.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
So in what happens is when the clock strikes zero
and there's an offensive penalty and you're behind, they don't
replay it.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
So that's that.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
Now on the rest of it, there are people like
you should have been down to the forward momentum, all
that kind of stuff.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Honestly, I think that's the subjective.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
I think the referees ultimately got it right in the
end in terms of the call.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
We just don't need eight minutes to do that, and
that kind of is a buzzkill for fans. Raiders at
the text third.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Dat it lessener of the yard across the raider thirty
Smith digging in short roll to the right, throws and
intercepted Stanley across by twenty five twenty fifteen ten five
Rock and Roll Pick six touchdown.

Speaker 8 (29:14):
Houston Rocking and Rolling with Mark Vandermere again with of
Kilt and Man. That Texans defense is dangerous, albeit against
the lowly Las Vegas Raiders.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Raiders did some damage that Texans defense, though, and they
showed you the blueprint on how you have to attack them.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
You've got to run the football.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
If you can't run the football against the Texans, you're
gonna loose.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
They only send four. You got to put those guys
back on their heels.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Ashton Janny twenty four carries one hundred and twenty eight
yards in a touchdown, including a fifty one yard carry.
Gino Smith with one of his better games actually sixteen
to twenty three two on one yards, two pass touchdowns,
one interception, but Texans get the better of them to
roll on.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
Texans of course facing off with the Chargers. And we're
all big, big Houston.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Texans fans this week, especially if the Broncos win in
Kansas City. Patriots set the Ravens first and ten shotguns.
That may back gonna take a shot deep on the
right side for Kyle Williams and he makes the catch.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Was he in bounds?

Speaker 6 (30:06):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Touchdown? Patriots.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
Drake made a Kyle Williams thirty seven yard touchdown.

Speaker 8 (30:14):
Bryan Raggy with Westwood one on the call. I thought
the Ravens were gonna beat them in this game. It
looked like they were going to for a long time.
But the Patriots find a way to pull out another.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Winucas is the only time that Drake has beaten the
Lamar in terms of if you get that reference you're
a fan of rap music. But I look, Drake may
three hundred and eighty yards against that defense. They weren't
running the ball particularly effectively, you know there? And how
about Stefan Diggs stepping up one hundred thirty eight yards
in that one For the Ravens side of things. I mean, honestly,

(30:44):
Lamar has been been hurt all season and he kind
of saw where this thing was headed. Derek Henry did
the best he could eighteen carries on hundred twenty eight
yards and two touchdowns, but he had to fumble and
people have learned to start punching the ball out on
him as he's been a little bit of a fubbler
this year. Interesting to see if Harball is a coach
of the Ravens next year. Finally, forty nine ers at
the Colts.

Speaker 4 (31:03):
Sam Francisco with the Colt eleven under center party, the
snap this, then the fakey rolls, he cuts his arm.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
He's on the far sideline rolling throwing pot touchdown.

Speaker 7 (31:14):
How pass in the back of the end zone bike
kettle with defenders draped.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
On both shoulders.

Speaker 8 (31:21):
No one describes a play like Kevin Harlan of Westwood
One and old Man. Rivers looked pretty good, but Rock
Purty even better.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Yeah, Philip Rivers twenty three to thirty five, two hundred
and seventy seven yards to passing touchdowns and interception in
that one. And you love the way he's just calling
everything out at the line of scrimmages. It's fun to watch.
You kind of hope he'll come back next year, and
you know what, he won't. But the Niners were able
to do anything and everything they wanted. Philip Rivers was
forty four points, and the Niners decided to put up
for forty forty years old, and Philip the Niners side

(31:51):
put up forty eight points in honor of that, And
it's just, Yeah, you gotta be frustrating if you're a
Colts fan.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
We come back.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Sean Keeler from the Denver Post. I believe he's going
to join us, we get the NFL six pack. I'm
sorry we're doing that in reverse order tonight. I should
have paid better attention to the think we got the
NFL six pack.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
We come back
