Why do the strongest people often suffer in silence? Why are smart, successful women—and men—breaking down behind closed doors while still showing up for everyone else?

In this episode, Dr. Taz MD sits down with Dr. Judith Joseph, a board-certified psychiatrist and leading mental health researcher, to explore the truth about high-functioning depression—what it looks like, who it affects, and why it’s rising fast.

Dr. Judith shares her personal journey from anesthesiology to psychiatry, what she learned through therapy, and how it changed her life. Together, they unpack the emotional toll of people-pleasing, perfectionism, and the pressure to "keep it all together."

Dr. Judith also introduces her transformative Five V’s Method—Validation, Venting, Values, Vitals, and Vision—a holistic framework to help you thrive through anxiety, burnout, and emotional exhaustion. The episode covers the impact of trauma, culture, food, tech, relationships, and even parenting styles on mental health.

If you or someone you love is feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or simply “numb,” this conversation could be the wake-up call you need.
