(04:42):
But but towards the end, itmay fall it may fall off the

I mean, come on, okay, be real. It's after I

At ian J Mobile Cigar Lounge. You guys, we're gonna talk some
birds today. We might talk alot of indirect birds. We had a

(06:13):
great episode last week. I thinkthat was probably one of our better episodes,
John, and Uh, you're welcome. I want to no, yeah,
no, please. We all knowit's not because to me, but
I want to keep the momentum going. And I'll tell you this as we
get through the dog days of summerhere into training camp. You know,

(06:34):
I'm not gonna I'm not gonna pushbirds down anybody's throat because you know,
I'm trying to find something to talkabout when I when when I don't feel
like there's something important anymore to talkabout. Regarding the birds, we're gonna
give it a break and we're gonnawait till training camp and then we're gonna
go nuts. But I do haveone other topic. Last week, we

(06:55):
went over players that we thought couldhave breakout seasons, whether they're rookies or
veterans or you know, second year, uh, you know, sophomore,
junior, whatever it is. Andit was a great episode. A lot
of thought. It was a verythought provoking episode. I believe I loved

(07:16):
your take on on the linebacker positionand the secondary and what we were possibly
able to do there and and youknow, cover up for some of the
for some of the weaknesses that westill have on this team. But in
addition to that, we're gonna talkjust a little bit of Phillies. We're

(07:36):
gonna give a shout out to AaronMarsh. Brandon Marsh's sister didn't make the
Olympic team, but number twelve andqualifying, uh in in the entire United
States. That's damn fine achievement.And I I kind of have a feeling
like that family just seems committed.Yes, both mentally and uh and sports

(08:01):
wise. Kind of feel like that'snot the last we're gonna hear of Aaron
Marsh. I kind of feel likeshe she's going to and I think she's
young. She's only twenty four,so she has some uh she has you
again, I wish I was twentyfour, you're only thirty. Yeah,

(08:22):
see that I'm not talking enough yetto go off off change there it is.
But yeah, we'll talk a littlephillies and we want to get into
the Olympics. We started a greatOlympic topic last week, and uh,
we want to we want to finishthat. But uh topic today of uh

(08:43):
the uh uh regarding the birds andlet me reach over because I didn't keep
my notes within microphone distance. Uhshut up. Well, you know what

(09:03):
we're not going to talk about thatfirst. But we're going to talk about
first is an offering everyone, becauseI did want to talk about this.
We have released our tailgate only packagefor Brazil. I know a lot of
people were waiting, and we havebeen waiting a long time. Our friends
over at Big Game Travel, BrianSnyder and Steve Nickel, had been working

(09:28):
tirelessly to find a location that wasgoing to work for us, and we
did. It's all right. We'vegot about twenty five spots left at the
two hundred dollars price point. Understandthat we're not used to selling tailgates at
at this price level. Two hundredwill be the most that we have ever

(09:52):
charged for a tailgate, but thatis only until the next twenty five spots
are sold, and we case itgoes to twenty five. So right now
it's the most we've ever charged, and probably within a couple of days it
will again be the most we evercharged. But there is a reason for
that. There's not a lot ofareas in which you can do this down

(10:16):
there. I want you to goto green Legion dot com when you have
a chance. There should be anice video up there about our tailgate.
I do not know how to speakPortuguese. I am starting to get a
little better with my Spanish, Imean Espanol sterblento, but I'm getting better,

(10:39):
but Portuguese just completely fails me.And a lot of the menu here
is in Portuguese. But I wantto talk to you about it real quick
because I think it's it's good toknow. With the price point that we
are charging, we also put inI don't want to say a demand,

(11:01):
but we explained ourselves very religiously insomething else that we wanted to do.
And I know this sounds a littlecrazy, but we weren't. We weren't
getting away from the price point thatwe're at. So we asked for a
little bit more and we got it. This is not a four hour Green

(11:28):
Legion tailgate. This is a sixhour, oh Green Legion tailgate three to
nine pm, all right, thegames at nine thirty. We're right next
to the stadium, so you feelsafe in that. In that regards this
is all you can eat, allyou can drink featuring Brazilian foods, and

(11:52):
feel free to google any of thisstuff. To go to green Legion dot
com, click on the Brazil trip. It's literally at the top. A
bio dave dois rice and beans.Usually adds cheese to uh to round it
out, but sometimes there's some meatin there. I don't believe this one

(12:13):
is going to have that fa beansand dried meat with a few other ingredients.
Is are really really popular Brazilian dishes? What's the word I'm looking for?
I n Oh, my god, failing me right now. Indigenous dishes.

(12:37):
I wish I could help you outthere, but I had no way
of helping you out there. That'srice with shredded or cube beef, beef
jerky backing, and sausage. It'slike the best meat lover's pizza you've ever
had with rice. Roast pork porkis big down there. Uh so you've
got roast pork, pit roasted ribsper down and Calabresa sandwiches, which is

(13:01):
pork shoulder and sauceg sandwiches. Andjust in case that doesn't work for you,
we're gonna have traditional burgers. Sometrots and other desserts, so it's
gonna be a nice roundabout food menu. We're gonna add some sides in there
too, right now. We wewe concentrated on the proteins. Now we'll

(13:24):
make sure that we cover everybody else'sfood needs after that. There are no
well drinks with disc tailgate, butthere's a ton of draft beers, including
a lot of craft. Brazil doesn'treally have a light beer, and for

(13:48):
a six hour tailgate in ninety twodegrees, I'm gonna tell you right now,
a light beer is kind of key. So we have requests and made
sure that by every beer station there'salso an ice ice station. Look,
you guys, I spent four offseasons in Costa Rica, in the Guana

(14:11):
Costa region right by Tamarindo, whereit was ninety three degrees every day and
not a single drop of rain forfour months, sunny as hell, and
your beer will get warm very quick. I have no interest in chugging beer.
I kind of like my beer asI'm drinking my whiskey. So simply

(14:35):
put, Imperial Imperial Light is probablythe equivalent of the Yangling logger when it
comes to light beer. So youjust put a few ice cubes in it,
and it turns into light beer andit's actually kind of helpful. I
know that sounds, Oh, you'reputting ice cubes in your beer. Equipped
Yeah, I was every freaking day. Not only did it make the beer

(15:00):
more palatable for me because I don'tlike heavy beer, because I like to
drink beer. You know, yourcraft beers, you're gonna drink three or
four. You're gonna have a youknow, an India pale al at eight
percent. You're gonna drink four beers. You're gonna get knocked on your ass.
I want to drink ten and stillfeel like I can maneuver. So
you drop a few ice cubes inthere. It gives you some hydration.
You're good to go, and that'swhat we're planning on doing there. There's

(15:22):
also gonna be wine, SODA's plentyof bottled water. Make sure you stay
hydrated, you guys. Ninety twoDegreesalpala one of the third most populated city
in the world. All right,it's hot. It's just hot in general.
But in addition to that, eventhough we couldn't secure the well drinks

(15:43):
as part of this particular program,we did get them to include caparinas,
which is the official drink of Brazil. It's fantastic, it's refreshing, it's
sweet. Sean Henderson, what's Idon't know what you suck? Sean Anderson.

(16:03):
Yeah. So, uh, thattailgate is now set and once again
six hours, six hours everybody. And uh, you know that doesn't mean
you know, it means you canstart off nice and slow. You're not
gonna have anything else to do,right, start off nice and so well.
Yeah, right, I don't know. Seriously, South Palo you know,

(16:25):
there's not much to do in SouthPlo. It's not like Rio,
it's not like Boozio's, it's notlike these other cities. It's the capital
of the of the country, andit's just it's just crowded. That's it.
That's what. You know. Youcan find a bar to go to.
Sure, there's bars everywhere, butit you know, it's this is

(16:48):
gonna be the focal point. Andin addition to that, all right,
uh, we have hired two livebands, a rock band on day samba
band. So we're gonna get youout there on the dance floor. We're
gonna have some Brazilians teaching you howto samba. I'm gonna be recording every

(17:08):
one of you knuckleheads that are drunktrying to do it, and I'm gonna
make you famous on social media becauseI know I'm gonna be one that's gonna
be made fun of as well whenI try to learn. But oh there
it is translation. Quimby will beeating fresh Brazil anyway. Thanks Sean Henderson,

(17:29):
love you in the room. Iwas hoping to hear from Califoot and
Keenan Jay unhappy. Uh, let'slet's let's let's let's do this. I
don't want to rush through New Orleans. We're gonna take an early break,
you guys. I know I saidI was gonna make the announcement at one

(17:51):
fifteen, the biggest announcement in theworld. Oh when you hear it,
Uh yeah, I like, whatis this? What you're like? Are
you setting me up for something here? What is this? Please? Bro?

(18:59):
Legion Radio, Fox Sports The Gamblerone or two point five f M Philadelphia,
brought to you by Cheerleaders, Gentlemen'sClub, Quimby and Lauderdale Jansen.
Back into Ballast Studios. When wecome back, I do have a major
announcement and it will be the biggestone that I have ever made. Uh
So we'll be back right after thisspreads totals and all the prop that's in

(19:22):
between. It's The Gambler, allright, body, Green Lee's your radio
here on Fox Sports Radio Philadelphia, one of two point five FM, brought
to you by friends at Cheerleaders Gentlemen'sClub. All right, I could build

(19:48):
this up, build it up now, I'm not going to. But after
I'm just gonna you know, I'mgonna talk a little bit about it.
Uh yeah, Well I actually thoughtthis would be a little easier. I
am officially announcing my retirement from theGreen Legion as of the end of this

(20:12):
season. Uh. Doesn't mean thatI'm going to leave the operation uh entirely.
Uh. Just I don't want tobe in charge anymore. I really
don't. Ah, I have.I've made so many friends, made a

(20:33):
lot of enemies too. Uh I'mone of them. Yeah, I never
liked you. Uh checks in themail. There's about a six week period
since the schedule was released, anduh, I don't want anybody getting concerned
or worried about this statement because it'sembellished a little bit. But I tell

(20:57):
you safely, for about of thoseweeks, if I didn't wake up in
the morning, and I probably didn'tcare. I my brain, my level
of patience, my love for thisis not changed. And that's why you

(21:18):
know, I'm gonna We're gonna talkabout this for a little bit. You
know, this is my this ismy baby, this is my my child.
This is that which I have spenttwenty two years creating, and it
has been the love of my life. It's been the most painful part of

(21:38):
my life. It has opened upso many doors. Uh, and it's
closed a few. But and Idon't want to say my heart's not in
it. I think my problem mightbe that my heart is always too much

(22:02):
in it. And you know,I just I just kinda kind of feel
like the legacy of the Green Legsand the name keeping it moving forward might
be better served in somebody else's hands. And like I said, I thought

(22:26):
this would be a little easier Andno for anybody that's asking, I don't
have any plans. I'm gonna haveto do something, maybe not for a
little while, but I uh,I have I have no future plans.

(22:51):
Right. Let me explain this. When I say, uh stepping down,
it's from road trips. If it'sokay with you guys, I'd like to
continue to run the tailgates at home. I'd like to continue to do this
with Fox Sports. Uh, Godwilling, uh chance and you and and
Sean brace and and Jeff Moore continueto allow me to do this. Uh.

(23:14):
We got Mike Powell helping us outnow, which I can't thank you
enough. Mike, and you youyou were killing it for me. Our
relationship is uh spectacular with Exfinity, and I I do I still wanna.
I still want to run home Tailgates. I want to host this show and
and I'd like to continue to dothat, but I don't. I don't
want my name on any more ofthese contracts. It's uh and and I

(23:38):
and I don't want the workload, you know, you guys, you guys
see me, and I'm traveling andI'm having fun, and at the end
of the day, I am stillpulling out my computer for three hours and
and and that's that's on a dayoff. Uh. When I'm when I'm
in work mode, it's a tenIt's twelve hour day every single time.

(24:02):
And it's it's just time. Youknow. If I when I started this
back in two thousand and three, having, by the way, absolutely zero
clue what I was doing, Idon't know if I've ever told you guys
this story. Tim Mullen from AppleVacations, Tim and Craig were extremely pivotal.

(24:29):
I was the membership director at BluebeltCountry Club for a lot of years
eight actually, and I had purchasedfrom Wayne Johnston Yo Wayne my Man,
not Dwayne Johnson. Wayne Wayne Johnson, who started the underground website for Avalon,

(24:52):
New Jersey in nineteen ninety six.Avalon DASHNJ dot com ed, Wakeley,
what you talked about willis? Ibought the sites from him in nineteen
ninety nine, when after he methis wife who said no way. His

(25:14):
marketing program was running around the islandtaking digital photos and handing out cards for
the website and posting those photos everyweek, and he went from six thousand
unique visitors his first year to overa quarter of a million the third year,
and his wife said, you're notdoing this anymore because it was an

(25:37):
open invitation for him to meet anyand everybody that he wanted to meet,
male or female. And excuse me, sorry, I welled up a little
bit there. He sold me thesites. I made a little bit of
money and over the summer selling sponsorshipsdown in Avalon and Sea Isle and Stone
Harbor, and then I started themanioc website. But I still didn't know
how to make any money with thisone whatsoever. And somebody suggested that I

(26:04):
run a trip to the Bahamas.Hey, everybody, let's let's let's go
into dead of February, like onehundred days to go before we get into
our shorehouses. And uh, Ididn't have a reservation system. I didn't
have any of the Yeah, flotillan Henderson, what a party we had,
man, what a party that wasdead in two thousand and five,

(26:27):
Kenny Weller, You know, Kennydidn't know he was going to do this,
and he gets a bad rap forit. I have no bad blood
for Kenny. He just didn't wantto. Well, I probably shouldn't talk
about his personal life here, Kenny. Kenny jumped off the bridge having fun,
the twenty first Street bridge, andsome seventy eight year old woman cried.

(26:51):
He never came up, and allof a sudden they're dragging the coastguards,
dragging the canal. But Kenny,no bad blood, man, You're
good people. Missy. I loveyou, and look, I don't think
I'm I'm gonna be removed from it. Yeah, to be honest with you,
all right, First of all,all right, let me get back

(27:14):
that I'm gonna jump, But remindme to tell you guys after I'm done
avalon that about staying with the company. So I started trying to run these
trips, and I had reached outto Tim because we were in the country
club circuit and we had a mutualfriend and he, you know, we

(27:38):
were trying to They would pay acommission of twenty five dollars per person for
a group, and if you gottwenty five people to go, you'd get
a free spot. And the Bahamaspackages for three nights were like five hundred
bucks all inclusive. So I'm like, oh my god, I'm gonna go
to the Bahamas with five hundred buckscash in my pocket and a free trip.

(27:59):
Yeah, I can live with that, right. I could never get
twenty five people to go, andeverything just faded because I also, you
know, hey do you want togo? Yeah, okay, cool,
I'm marking down. I didn't saysend a check, you know. So
when it came down to trying toget everybody on board, it's, uh,

(28:22):
it just never happened. And andthen it was June sixth of two
thousand and three, and I'm atmy office at Bluebelt Country Club and I'm
looking at the Eagle schedule and Isee that we play the Dolphins on Monday
night in December early. I thinkit was December ninth, and I'm like,

(28:44):
man, I can get twenty fiveof my friends to go on that
trip, right, ladies? You? I love you guys seriously. Now
you're gonna make me cry, Missyjay on e. So I called Tim
back up and I'm like, dude, you know, do you run Eagles

(29:07):
road trips? Because I know Ican get this one rocking. He goes,
hell no, I'm like wait, and and we had started to become
pretty good friends, and I'm goingand I go okay. He goes hell
no, but wait, I thinkyou would be really good at it.
Okay, first of all, areyou feeding me to the wolves? You

(29:32):
know what is actually taking place here? And you know why would I be
good at it? He goes, well, you know, if you if
you approach this properly and you canfind some vendors who will be flexible,
then you can give it a whirland see whether or not it takes off
for you. And you have thenetwork to do so, because at that

(29:53):
time, I was probably at twentythousand email adds this is maybe even more
on my database. You know, there wasn't social media like we have it
now. I think my space wasyou know, like a like a Tom
Tom's loved child that he hadn't createdyet, So all marketing was done via

(30:18):
mass email. And he goes, dude, you should give it a whirl.
And he was kind enough. Youknow, guy owns a multi million
dollar tour operator company. It's kindenough to walk me through. And it
was. It was more than itwas more than a few minutes, and
it was more in a couple ofdays. And it walked me through everything

(30:38):
that I needed or he thought thatI should do or needed to do in
order to create these packages and andmake them great for everybody. And I'll
never forget what he said. Hegoes, once they get to the airport
in Philadelphia, make sure they don'thave to think. And that was what
I was always always striving for AOLchat room. Russ nice, you know,

(31:04):
trying to make it as easy aspossible. He goes, take care
of everything. Get their flights whenyou can, get their their their transportation
to and from the airport. Whenyou get there, make sure they're pre
keyed. Uh. And then youknow, they come back and they can
put their card down for incidentals later. Make sure they have stuff to do
while they're down there. Uh youknow, it's a football game. Make
sure you got a nice tailgate, you get their tickets, make sure their

(31:26):
transportation to and from the game isthere and ready, and just remember,
just remember to be as the bestyou can at that which you can control.
And I'm like, uh wait, what is yeah? Thanks Jay?
Uh the comments are all in,comments are holding dancing good. So you

(31:52):
know, make sure you can dothe best you can to control that which
you can, which is everything excesthe outcome of the game. And what
you want to make sure is thatif they lose, and I think this
is one of the one of thereasons why they never jumped in it,
if they lose, you have tomake sure people still had a good time.

(32:13):
You have to make sure people comeback and say, hey, you
know, god, it sucks thatwe lost that game, but we had
blast and you know, thankfully thatis has has been the case for a
very long time. What was Iasking you remind me about when I was
done the avalance story, something aboutyour role in Green Legion and what you're

(32:39):
gonna do and how you're gonna bestill greenly I think I think, Okay,
well, let me finish this soh Lindsay Lindsay Beckett. There was
a chain of boutique hotels in SouthBeach uh the uh whitelaw uh be specific

(33:00):
and that's the hotel where we hadour first trip. They had just opened
up fifty eight rooms, fifty fourrooms something like that. I'm like,
hey, you know, talking toher. They also had a one hour
open bar complimentary every day and therethis is two thousand and three. There

(33:21):
there catchphrase, their motto, theirtheir marketing line, stiff drinks hot water,
white sheets Like okay, yeah, you had me at stiff but giggity,
yeah, you knew that was comingDanson. So also my Mike Gabriel,

(33:50):
my web developer at the time. His mom was a travel agent.
I called the Dolphins. Sure ashell. I got a sales rep from
the doll Elphins who's from the Philadelphiastroke of luck. So everything started to
fall into place and I put thispackage together. But I didn't want to
sign any contracts because I didn't know. And that was one of the things

(34:10):
that Tim said, Hey, youknow, try to be flexible, or
try to find a place that's flexiblethat you know isn't going to make you
sign that like, let's see performancebefore we before you sign anything. I'm
like, all right, So Iasked Lindsay to hold fifteen to twenty rooms.

(34:31):
We had fifty flights, and Iput this thing out. I called
it Beach Boos and Birds and ready, this is hysterical, all right.
If you had four people in yourroom, your flight, your airport transfers,

(34:52):
your three nights at the hotel, your game day transfers, your pregame
tailgate, and your game ticket wasonly three hundred and ninety five dollars a
person. You know, keeping inmind, this is two years removed from
you know, it's post nine toeleven. You know, people were still
very wary or weary about traveling. And I think I still made seventy bucks

(35:16):
a person on that thing. Somy cost was literally like three hundred and
twenty five bucks a person for allof that, which is nuts. You
know, our room rate was ninetynine bucks a person. You know,
the open bar was included. Itwas awesome. And I put this thing
out to my email list at ninein the morning. It was a Wednesday,
and my email sound when you knowI got a new email was screw

(35:42):
you guys by Cartman and I sendthis thing out keeping in mind and that
day and age, there's still there'sstill a lot of question marks when it
comes to tech, and you know, the mailer demons would pop up all
the time if you did something wrong. So I put that out. I

(36:06):
go upstairs to make breakfast and Ilisten and I can hear my computer go,
screw you guys, screw you guys. Screw you guys, screen,
screw you guys. Screech, screech, screwed, screw scoot, screwed,
screw you guys. Screech, screech, just lighting up. I'm like,
God, damn it, I freakingscrewed it up. These are all mailer

(36:30):
demons. I gotta do this again. And I go down and I look
and it is everyone that wants tosign up for this trip. I am
scrambling. I sold fifty spots intwenty minutes. I'm like, wait,
let's go, let's go. Icall my Gabriels mom. I'm like,

(36:52):
hey, can you get me more? You know? She goes, what
do you need? I'm like anotherone hundred and fifty flights. She's like,
not a problem, I asked.I call Lindsay. I'm like lindsay,
we're good. She's like yeah,I'm like, yeah, we're good.
She goes, all right, sowhat do you want to sign a
contract for. I'm like the entirehotel? She goes, wait what,

(37:15):
I'm like, yeah, this isthis is where this is going. She
goes, well we can't. Wealready have three reservations for that weekend.
I'm like, and they are gonnalook really, really good across the street
at the Chesterfield, your other hotel. She goes, yeah, they will.

(37:36):
Because she also realized, man, that was a great postcard, a
great billboard for her, not onlyselling out a weekend, you know,
and they just opened up three weeksprior, so you know, everybody was
down with this whole thing, andit was it was awesome. I I

(37:58):
opened it back up and sold thoseother one hundred and fifty spots in less
than two hours. So two hundredspots in roughly about well just over two
hours, two hours, fifteen minutesmaybe. And I'm like, well,
maybe I'm onto something. The followingyear, Major League vacations. Yeah they've

(38:19):
been They've been pissed at me foryears. I don't give a single crap
about them. They got credit inDallas for having the most people down there.
I had more than they could haveever asked for. I had six
hundred and seventy five the following year, and that was not embellishing numbers,
So it's anyway it was. Itwas that which stemmed two years later me

(38:50):
removing myself from that from my fulltime job at Bluebelt Country Club. And
the rest is the rest is whatyou all know, and well what I
wanted to say as well, becauseI know we got to get up on
a break here, but Jansen,We're okay. We're going a little bit
longer and filtering this breakout through. What does this mean? Means there's a

(39:16):
plan in place if I still needto stay with the organization in some capacity
right now, I couldn't be anyany more honest and sincere with saying that
if Stephanie's running this whole thing,I couldn't be any happier. That girl
is a champion in every capacity. She's also had some uh you know,

(39:42):
some personal issues over the last yearand still flying colors. Man. People
love her. She is what Iused to be as far as being nice
talking to people and engaging and youguys know, like the only people I
really want to talk to anymore oryou know, people that I really know,

(40:05):
you know, the ones that arein the in the in the circle.
And uh. I guess what thisall means is, I'm prepared to
stay with the organization as as partof it, a spokesperson somebody. I
want to go on one of mytrips. For God's sake, I want
to go on one of my freakingtrips. I don't want to work it.

(40:25):
I want to be there having funout with you guys. And I
generally am, but I'm always alwayson a constant radar. What's going on
next, what can happen? Wherecan this go wrong? What haven't we
finished yet? What what mistakes havewe made that we can cover up?
So you guys don't know what. And it's constant and it's never ending,

(40:50):
and it's no break and it's nosleep, and it's just not for me
anymore. But I'm happy with stayingwith the organization. I guess basically what
this means is now she's officially upfor sale. She's up for sale and
serious offers only. Do not cometo me and say, hey, I'll

(41:13):
work it for you for the nextfour years. So you don't have to
and give you all that money.Nah, now you're writing a check,
all right, and it is nono lighter than seven figures, So keep
that in mind. But uh,yeah, I don't. I don't mind
staying on. I really don't.I it's my baby, it's my legacy,

(41:37):
it's my life's work. I dareI say it's my best achievement.
You know, I that may sounda little shallow. I kind of think
I would have been kind of liketo think I had better achievements. But
twenty two years, twenty two years, all right, twenty two years I've

(42:05):
been doing this and I couldn't,man, I couldn't. I could never
ask for anything more than this. And at this point, you know,
I want to. I want togo out on my terms. I want
to. I want to go outbefore I piss everybody off to end and

(42:27):
and well you don't count. You'rea richer, and I want to go
out on top. And me makingthis announcement allows all that to take place.
And uh, you guys, Ican't. I could never imagine the

(42:52):
friendship and support that I've received fromso many of you. Kind of feel
I feel like I don't deserve it. A lot of times, but you

(43:17):
guys are always there and I willI will be forever grateful for that to
all of you. Chances. Let'stake a break. Yeah, let's do
that, all right. We'll catchyou guys back in a few minutes.

(43:38):
If you can wager on it.We're talking about it. It's the Gambler.

(44:00):
Do you remember when it sides waschanging chasing, I'm being in the

(44:22):
singing it and it doesn't die.Remember Bob starts holding die. I thought

(44:49):
you said five minutes. No,that was ten seconds. Oh uh,
buddy, welcome back Green Legion Radiohere on Fox Sports together one O two
point five. That in Philadelphia, brought you back to your leaders Gentlemen's Club,
back in the ballast studios myself downin Fort Lauderdale. Uh just made

(45:13):
a big announcement. Uh now nowyou understand, right, Jansen. I
mean it wasn't a big announcement forme. You know, it doesn't change
my life any I still got todeal with you. I really don't like
you. You still gotta deal withyou all the time, you know,

(45:34):
And I can make it that muchmore difficult. Yes you again, Yes
you can. Uh once again, you guys, Missy uh ed e Jay
Russ, Sean, Antonio, LouCaesar, Caesar, God, damn dude.
I love you guys. Uh Kadsas well. Sorry I didn't put

(45:57):
you in that first list. Uh. Keenan who I don't know where he
is. David Calafoot God you knowa Debbie. Uh God, I'm gonna
miss all this. Kathy uh uhChuck, please please don't me not mentioning

(46:22):
your name has nothing to do withIt's just me, me being old and
forgetting piggy all the nails. Hell, even even Hollis helped us build Diaz
Sack everybody that worked or works forme, Lou H, Mackenzie, Kevin

(46:52):
H Stephanie, thank you, ConnieMarilynd. For God's sake, Amy,
You guys didn't even know am me. Amy was my ops director back in
the day two thousand and five. She was fantastic, just to head the

(47:13):
Mullins. Thank you for the direction. And again, you know it's not
you know I say this, andyou know it might not even be something
that you guys notice. It maynot be very visible because what I believe
is going to take places now thatthe company is going to be officially up

(47:36):
for sale, somebody's gonna want it, and somebody's gonna need me to to
groom them and teach them everything thatI've known and all the contacts that I've
made over the last twenty plus years. You know, it's it's it's kind
of funny. Now I'm gonna windup having a play nice in the sandbox
with a lot of these other companiesthat I'm in competition with. You know,

(48:02):
it's imitation is the best is thebest form of flattering flattery, and
we all know that. And uh, you know these guys have have I
have done some things on their ownthat I think are really creative and and
and and good. But most youknow, the foundation the back room is
that which I created. And andyou know what I I don't like taking

(48:28):
credit for much of anything. Ireally don't. You guys know this about
me. You know I might sitback and you know, and and and
enjoy it myself when I'm alone andyou know nobody's around, But I'm not
gonna sit there and pat my back. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna be
that kind of complete and utter AmI allowed to say that or no fancy?

(48:55):
But there's one thing that I willuh take credit for. And this
is something that you guys don't evenrealize. And this, you know,
we might be going down a littlebit of memory lane here. Uh Sean
chanting is coming off the milky versionof Diaz. I love it. Uh,
But you said I'm not. Yousaid I'm not that, I'm not

(49:20):
that pale, and then you putyour legs up last week and I'm not.
I'm not getting I'm getting ten milkto milk. The light. The
light does not help here, allright, The camera does not help.
I am. I just went outgolfing all day yesterday. There was a
clear tan line. Okay, sothat's white and that's not as white.
Okay, so I'm I'm getting there. Leave me alone, Uh, missy

(49:42):
jay Uh, I didn't create that. You guys did that on your own.
I mean you know that that isone thing. I'm not gonna take
credit for it, but I'm gonnabe certainly happy that it was a byproduct
of what I've done. No,you guys, you guys all found each
other. And I think that's that'ssomething so synonymous with Philly, And don't

(50:06):
I don't want to get too offtrack here, and let me come back
to that because I want to Iwant to talk about the one thing that
I I will take credit for,and it's something that was behind the scenes,
and it took Man, it tookmore out of me than Leah.
I love you too, Antony.I appreciate that the behind the scenes worked

(50:34):
that you didn't see, and itwas probably the first four or five years.
Let's let's not beat around the bushhere, all right. Philadelphia fans
have a much much better reputation publiclythese days, even though ESPN can't stop
talking about the stupid freaking snowball thing. All right, you don't hear anything

(50:59):
more about reason JD. Drew,do you. No, it's because every
asshat fan base around the country forjust about every sport has done something freaking
stupid as well, so they can'tand no longer just focus on that before
whatever reason, they can't get sixtyeight out of the out of their heads.
So you know, oh, Phillyfans, they threw snowballs at Santa

(51:20):
Yeah, the kid deserved it.But what was behind the scenes that you
didn't see, And it was thefirst four or five years. Man going
to a different city and saying thatyou had a group of Philadelphia Eagles fans
and you wanted to bring them toyour bar, and you wanted the bar
to give us specials you have.I have I heard more nose from bars

(51:52):
in five years than in five yearsme being single, trying to get laid.
It was no, no, no, no, no no no no
no no, no, no,no, no, hell no, absolutely
not. And then you find theone bar where the person goes, oh

(52:13):
yeah, please love to have you. And thankfully again to you guys,
we've all collectively managed to change thepersona of a Philadelphia sports fan in the
eyes of the public, or atleast in the eyes of the cities in

(52:37):
which we visit or have visited. And I've been on that pilgrimage. That's
that has been ed. I don'tlike you, I really never did.

(52:57):
That is the one element that Ican safely say that I was an am
proud of and I feel as thoughwas the one that made that happen because
keeping this in mind Westminster before themissus decided to put it down, which

(53:19):
you know, she kind of inthe same boat. She was twenty plus
years with this and she finally said, you know, no more. There's
there's a lot of stress in thisbusiness and you don't see it. But
the companies I was competing against weretravel agencies, so they couldn't based on
once you have an IATA number,if you're a travel agent, you have

(53:40):
an AYATA number. I love youtoo, Ed, seriously, you are
the man, and thank you onceagain for defending freedom, my man.
Every company that I was competing against, they didn't offer these social elements of

(54:00):
a trip. They didn't have thethe the alcohol attributes, they didn't have
the parties, they didn't have thesocial interaction. And it was because they
weren't allowed to get involved, Ibelieve, insurance wise, with anything involving
alcohol other than what the hotels orcruise lines they were pushing were offering based

(54:27):
on their own insurance programs. Sowhat I had done was, I don't
want to say revolutionize. It doesn'ttake a rocket science a rocket scientist to
say, hey, yeah, we'regonna have five hundred Eagles fans down here,
we need to place the drink. But the other companies couldn't do it,

(54:50):
so none of them paved the way. When I came in, I
was the one that had to putup with all of it, and it
was brutal man. It was.It was. It was knocking you down
and and and having to get upand and and then getting deals in place,
and then somebody in the news doingsomething stupid at a game, even
like running out of the field andthe person you were working with going and

(55:14):
I don't know, I don't thinkit's a good fit. And you're having
to start from scratch once again.Uh so you know companies that are doing
this now, uh you know,uh, fans of Philly Philly sports trips,
Uh, whoever else is in thismix at this point. Uh you
know, you guys didn't you guysdidn't have to go through that absolute bog

(55:38):
of crap. And uh, youknow it's it's funny when when and if
they give you any grief and andyou don't say anything because you want to
look like the bigger person, butyou kind of want to just say,
hey, look, whatever you're doingright now would never have taken place if

(56:00):
it wasn't for me. And Iguess that's where I was finally going with
that. And I think we shouldtake a quick break. I'm not done
with these stories. We do wantto get into Eagles when I come back.
Keep going we'll talk just a hairmore about about this, just a

(56:20):
hair more. You know, Idon't want to. I don't. I
don't want to make this show. You know, we could have a Memory
Lane show. I'm just not preparedfor it. There are some stories,
oh man. I honestly wish Iwas smart enough to have written down some
of the stories that had taken placeover the years doing this, because it's

(56:40):
enough for a movie, novel, all this. But I didn't. But
we'll talk about my retirement from theGreen Legion for just a minute or two
more when we get back. Ijust want to make a few more things
really clear, and then we'll getinto birds and we're gonna talks the rest
of the way. And I appreciateyou guys being with me this entire time.

(57:04):
And uh, Toshante, I loveyou seriously, you, Antonio,
everybody, you guys. It's justit's just so awesome. I just I
can, I can, I can. I'm eternally grateful, eternally Green Legion
Radio, Fox Sports The Gambler oneO two point five f M, Philadelphia,
brought to you by Cheerleaders, Gentlemen'sClub, Quimi and Lauderdale Jansen.

(57:28):
Back into ballast studios and we willbe No. I only did one live
rey crap. Get it together. Here's the deal. When you combined State
Farm home and auto insurance, yousave an average of eight hundred and eighty
nine dollars. State Farm agent dBavuso is ready to help you combine home
and auto in South Jersey and Pennsylvania. Called Dave today. Eight five six
seven four zero five zero one two. That's eight five six seven four zero

(57:57):
five zero one two like a goodneighbor. State Farm. Their average annual
porhousehold savings are based on a twentyeighteen national survey by State Farm of new
policyholders who reported savings by switching toState Farm. Individual premiums will vary by
customer, all applicant subjects, StateFarm underwriting requirements. Everybody will be back
right after this. I can't figurethis out with you today, Bro sick.

(58:32):
I'm going six minutes now, I'msix second seconds. Welcome to the
crap show that is Green Legion Radioon. Yeah, it is everybody.
I'm really hard over here today.I'm working really hard over here today.
I could tell we saw those milkylegs again. Everybody. Rought to you

(58:58):
by cheerleaders, Gentlemen's Club and justUh, I don't think I dropped the
bomb. I think a lot ofyou were expecting this. Uh. It's
been on deck for a while, probably hung around a couple of years more
than than I truly wanted to.But uh also grooming, grooming for the

(59:19):
for the future. So UH onceagain announcing officially my retirement from the Green
Legion after this football season. Uh, not entirely, but as the main
constituent, the the behind the scenesleader, I have no problem hanging on

(59:39):
uh and and and and being aspokesperson for the Legion and UH coming to
trips like I saidd man, Iwould love to go on one of my
trips. Just just go on oneof my trips. Uh. So,
yes, that announcement also means thatthe company is publicly an official really up

(01:00:00):
for sale. I already have twointerested parties I've had for it. I
got ten dollars. I don't evenhave ten dollars. So you know what
kind of think a douchebag that wouldhold me to a verbal contract if I
just said sold right now. SoI'm not going to do it. But

(01:00:21):
I mean, it's all record,it's all here so if you say it
not doing it, you can goto hell. So uh yeah, once
again, guys, just I can'tthank you enough. I can't thank my
my family, I can't thank everybody. You know, I'm not going to
go into an oscar speech. Everybodyknows who's been pivotal. Everybody knows who's

(01:00:45):
been a jackass. Yes they do. And to be honest, there there's
there's the other part. That's theone thing that I wanted to get into
for those for those who I pissedoff over the years, if I yelled
at you on a trip, therewas a method to the madness. There's
not a single thing that I I'mimpulsive, but I also process information very

(01:01:06):
fast. When I when something mightbe construed as impulsive, I've already thought
it through. So if I've yelledat you on a trip, it was
because there might have been a partof me that thought you were a liability.
And honestly, you know, holdingon to the the work, the

(01:01:28):
foundation work of this company for thefirst four or five years, making sure
that you know, nobody's a jackass, especially when we're at a tailgate with
a vendor, or a PEP rallyparty or a bar crawl, you know,
because I don't want to lose thosecontacts. And you're not worth my
business. You're not worth the businessif I thought you were a liability and

(01:01:50):
you know, and I pushed youaway, you know, I could have
been wrong, and for that Iapologize. But I usually have a pretty
good eye for that kind of stuff. And you know, we're out together
somewhere, you know, nothing todo with the Green Legion. Happy to

(01:02:12):
get stupid, tear up a bar, piss people off. God knows,
I've done it more than once.Just can't have it when we're on a
Green Legion trip. So you know, for that, anybody that I pissed
off over the years, I do. I apologize. If you don't think
it's something I don't take the heart. I take everything to heart, everything,

(01:02:39):
and you know I've learned a learnnot really so much emotion when it
comes to that, but I doI take it to heart. You know,
I dedicated my entire life this thisbaby, and never it's never in

(01:03:00):
the business trying to piss people off. So I just want you guys to
know that. But once again, for all those that have been with me
and been with me for so long, your Green Leegion Legends family once again,
you guys, it's it's not mydoing. When you when you go
to a different city, you findpeople from Philadelphia because they have the same

(01:03:22):
attitude, they have the same delivery, and you're attracted to it. It's
like a goddamn magnet. It's ridiculousand and it's also kind of assuring.
It's it's nice, it's it's comfortfood, it's home. And I can't
tell you how many times, youknow, just random, complete and utter

(01:03:45):
randomness. You know, you're you'reat a bar and all of a sudden,
you know, you wind up talkingto somebody and you find out different
Philly or South Jersey or Delaware, and you go, I kind of kind
of already knew that. And uhso, you know, people Philadelphia sports

(01:04:11):
fans, you know, they havemore in common than most marriages. For
Christ's sake, let's be honest.Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, Flyers.
All right, there's four things incommon that Philadelphia sports fans have, probably
two more than most married couples have. All right, So you find each

(01:04:32):
other and you gravitate toward each other, and and you do you I'm sorry,
I hope This statement doesn't take awayfrom the Legends family, which absolutely
freaking beautiful. But everybody from Phillyand South Jersey is a family. All

(01:04:55):
Philadelphia sports fans their family, everybody'sfamily. We've all been through the Wringer
Man, the good and the bad, and unfortunately, the bad is usually
what binds you together. And there'sbeen more of that than there has been
good. And oh, Sean,I yell at you all the time,

(01:05:15):
you just don't hear it. Hangon here, I had to change out
my beer. Important priorities when you'redoing a radio show, settled, I
I have. I have autonomy today, all right? But yeah, just

(01:05:40):
I'm not gonna keep beating it giggity, but no, I would never retire
for Christ's sake. I know Iknow you longer than anybody, and God
we you know when I see you, E, everything just feels right.

(01:06:00):
I don't know why. I youknow, maybe it's our Drexel days.
Just I'm happy. I'm happy everytime I see you in honey Pie.
Not gonna lie. I just youknow what I want to get back?
You know what else? I mean? I have I like to think I'm
part of this, this family aswell. But I never have a chance

(01:06:23):
to talk to you, guys.I never have a chance to sit down.
I never have a chance to sharemoments with you, hear about your
moments, talk about your lives, find out what's going on. I don't
know. I don't know anything aboutit. Damien, you know all these
everybody, I forgot to mention Damien, and he's important part to me.
And that's what I want to getback to. I just I want to

(01:06:44):
have that time to sit down andenjoy you. And this is the only
way I really see it happening. But let's see here, Jay, if
you didn't yell at someone at somepoint, you must have not liked You're

(01:07:06):
right, I do yell at peoplethat I love. Unfortunately, probably some
more time to come moonlight as myco host again. Sure, I'm in
bro, I am in uh uhor kiss with a cue on a trip.
I'm most of the scratch golfer, not ubb here, Dick Sean.

(01:07:27):
I've never been yelled at or kissedby Q on a trip. I'm also
a scratch golfer and not you're nota scratch golfer. Please that swing is
terrible, or maybe you need tocome down and and and and show me
anyway we're gonna uh, we're gonna, we're gonna let that. We're gonna

(01:07:50):
let that one. Uh, letthat one go. Uh for now.
I'm sure I'll talk about it again. We might have that memory lean uh
uh episode at some point in time, and we might do it soon because
you know, we're kind of we'relooking for material right now when there's not
a lot going on, and well, let's get into this chanson. Uh.

(01:08:14):
Should we we're two twenty? Shouldwe take a quick break? Get
back on schedule? You tell me, I don't. This is this is
your program right now. I'm goingwith you. Are you are in right
now? Uh? If we takea break, how long? I don't
want to lose anybody right now. It's about a form minute break. But
if not, we're gonna have toend this show early with like an eight

(01:08:36):
minute break before somebody else comes up, and that's gonna hurt them. You
can know we have nobody, wehave nobody coming on after this. Quimby,
I'd like to be here nice, what's that? I would like to
be out of here at three? No, we're out of here at three.
Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna goin my room and cry by myself.

(01:08:57):
Oh yeah, nice, nice,That's what I needed to get home
too. So let's let's do this. We come back, All Eagles the
rest of the program, Let's takethat quick break. Ian J Mobile Cigar

even have a soundboard anymore. Idon't even have a laptop that can do
it, which is pathetic. ThatMSY piece of crap that I bought crapped
out one week after its warranty, one week entirely. I think all of

(01:13:00):
them have these timers in them atthis point. Conspiracy theorist that they die
a week or two or a monthafter your warranty is expired. But anyway,
let's see, you have to come. You have to come up for
a Memory Lane show with a fewof us in studio, or I just
fly a few of you down.Yes, that's easier. I smell a

(01:13:25):
retirement party of what E just thankyou? All right, So here is
what I wanted to get to birdswise, and god damn it, I
didn't even talk about the New Orleanstailgate real quick, Yeah, I know,
shut up. I haven't said aword all show. You don't have

(01:13:49):
to, that's fair, all right. We also released our New Orleans tailgate.
We may be offering a ticket andtailgate package for New Orleans. We're
not sure yet, but I didwant to make sure you knew about this
menu. It's pretty awesome. We'reOur tailgate for New Orleans is at Champions

(01:14:15):
Square, that is at the baseof the Superdome. It was built after
they won the twenty ten Super Bowl. And it's a little I gotta be
honest with you, it's a littleposh. It's a little posh for my
blood. But it's also the thirdweek of September in the swamp, So

(01:14:43):
I think you guys are going toyou guys are going to be extremely happy
that the only time you need tobe outside that entire Sunday is the two
hundred foot walk from Champions Square intothe Superdome. Uh, keep that in
mind. So what are we doing? Yo? Hey, We're going on

(01:15:04):
New Orleans Fair on this one, baby, all right, We're gonna have
three stations. We're gonna have aseafood boil station, peel and de vein
tail on shrimp, boiled potatoes, corner of the cobs, smoke sausage.
We're gonna have a barbecue station, pulled pork, big buns. My Ana
Konda don't want none unless you Coleslawbake bean. Shut up, Jansen coleslap

(01:15:32):
I can. I'm I'm yanking thatcheck out of the I'm never gonna get
it anyway. You aren't. Youaren't. Uh. Nola Station, Fried
catfish, chicken and sausage, Jumbalayaand Green and White Kingcakes, Baby Domestic
and Import beer and Seltzer. UhBrand's coming soon well drinks as well.

(01:15:56):
Brand's coming soon, Mimosa's Bloody Mary's. Uh. It's a great tailgate eight
to eleven three hour Tailgate one twentyfive everything's gone up, you guys.
I don't like charging over one hundredbucks for a tailgate, and I won't
where I don't have to. Cincinnatiis one of those. But Tampa,
New Orleans, Brazil. You know, you know, any one of you

(01:16:17):
that voted for Biden, you knowyou can thank yourself for that price increase
because that's where we are. Uh. That's the first thing political I've said
all year. Did you watch anyof the eight? Heck? No,
Yeah, I recorded it, andI don't want to watch it because I
kind of feel like I'm just gonnalaugh my ass off. So here we

(01:16:38):
are. How do the birds getbetter? Rob? When is the five
hundred show? Keenan, You misseda lot. I officially announced my retirement
from the Green Legion after this season. Brother, love you. Tell Pam
I love her too. So whatI have here is sharp football analysis refree

(01:17:00):
agent still existing in the NFL market, and I want to go through this
with you. There's particularly a coupleof positions, and they're the ones that
I always harp on that nobody seemsto give a crap about anymore, which
are running back in linebacker. Uh, And I want to see, you

(01:17:20):
know, we're you got to yougot a couple of these guys top of
the list that you know, we'rejust waiting for a a potential super Bowl
team to lose a running back intraining camp and then you know they're they're
gonna go. We know that.Uh, I'm obviously talking about running up.

(01:17:41):
Let's let's go through this article. This is the best I can do
with with trying to uh uh uhhave a as much of a football show,
even though I spent the last houruh crying and being a bitch.
Uh. First, let's go.Uh do any of these names do anything

(01:18:03):
for you? These are remaining quarterbackquarterback free agents? Just curious. I
know, you know we're not goingto look at any but is there a
reason why Ryan Tannehill hasn't been signedby anybody? I find that? Yeah,
yeah, Trevor Seeman, Blaine Gabbart, AJ mccarrn, Brian wayor Kellen

(01:18:27):
Mond and Ben Denucci. But RyanTannehill, I mean, his his career
was kind of resurrected in Tennessee andyou know, not great deep see they
would even pick him up as abackup or is he waiting for a starting
role? Uh? He could alsobe waiting just for something to open up,

(01:18:50):
maybe if it's an injury or somethinglike that, because look at Joe
Blaco, Joe Flaka wasn't a starterat all, but even him at thirty
eight years old, just waiting forthe right opportunity to sign and all of
a sudden he's the starting quarterback fora playoff team. So yeah, I
think it's just Tannehill trying to playthe game a little bit. See,
you know, play the field, see what opens up, and Tannehill's just

(01:19:11):
fine. You know, he shouldbe a backup somewhere. Absolutely, it's
likely a bit of both. Thatthere aren't openings right now. Teams feel
comfortable at the moment with where they'reat with backup quarterbacks, but likely something
will open up. And Tonio Imiss Zach Cunningham, great tackler sentences I've
never heard before, just fun thingsto talk about. Kirk Cousins four year,

(01:19:38):
one hundred and eighty million dollar contractwith the Falcons. Somebody tell me
why other than the fact that onceagain Arthur Blanks box of Kirk Cousins is
good. That's not bad for agood quarterback. Four years of one hundred
and eighty million no, it's goodfor him. That's good for it,
right, kind of like another minnesotto quarterback in Sammy Sleeves. Ooh yeah

(01:20:02):
that. But Kirk Kirk has hadsuccess four years, one hundred and eighty
million. That's not a bunch ofmoney has he had. He's won a
lot of games. He is agood quarterback. He's gone to playoff games.
He doesn't want a lot of playoffgames. But how many but okay,
how many quarterbacks have had other thana handful, like maybe ten quarterbacks

(01:20:24):
have had more success than Kirk Cousins. I agree with you. I agree
with you. Even a quarterback likeKirk oh, I, you know,
for that much money, Baker Mayfield. Baker Mayfield is the only one that
I think had any deserved money comingtowards him. And he signed for pennies

(01:20:46):
one hundred million, Yeah, ahundred million three year Compared to Kirk Cousins,
he's had more success than Kirk Cousins. No, Kirk Cousins, no
Kirks. Kirk Cousins is better thanmake Makefield. Come on whatever, let's
be let's let's let's be real.Let's be real about you. Who I
like, got a decent contract. Is that Garnerman shoot good for him former

(01:21:11):
million with the Raiders. I kindof like that good Pirates. If anyone
thinks Kirk Cousins is a winner, you are a jackass wain. But he's
a good player. He is agood player. And if you're a good
quarterback, then you're gonna get money. He's going to the Baker Mayfield also
bigger Rayfield beat the playoffs. Imean, come on, here we go,

(01:21:31):
Let's let's get into this all right. Twenty twenty four remaining running back
free agents two four. God,there's a lot here at the top of
the list. Dalvin Cook. Yeah, he's shown his age, a lot

(01:21:58):
of age. Yeah when he whenhe was with the Jets, he showed
a lot of age there. Sominute Minnesota got rid of him because they
probably saw, hey, this isn'tgoing to be much longer time coming up
this rookie contract. And and youknow, you say, you say age,
but now you know, now yourealize that that's why the average for
running backs is three years in theNFL. Yeah, definite, cooks to

(01:22:20):
He's twenty eight years old. He'sbeen in the league for a while.
What about cam Akers and the reasonwhy Cam Akers, you know, let's
be honest, just because he wantsto pipe Sean mcvay's girlfriend as well.
Geez, It's come on, whatdude, Remember we had a we had
like a thirty week countdown of andwe're in week twenty nine of Jared Goff

(01:22:46):
wants to pipe Sean mcvay's girlfriend. That's why he's no longer a ram Probably.
Well, I don't know if he'spretty happy about that. But would
they have won with him at theHelm don't know. Joshua Kelly, no,
Latavius Murray, those are all guys. So cam A, To be

(01:23:11):
honest with you, I like Ilike Cam Akers because I think he would
come pretty cheap. Yeah, hewould come cheap, but he's he's a
good vet. We've seen this before, you know, running backs, veteran
running backs in the middle of theseason, when there's an injury, like,
yeah, you can play, camAkers, Is he gonna give you
anything spectacular? Now? I saythat because Latavius Murray has been that guy
for the past few years. He'smoved around from Baltimore to New Orleans,

(01:23:31):
to Denver, to Buffalo, evensigning last year to Buffalo, and they
had a lot of running back injuriesand fine, like there was nothing wrong
with his play. Uh Kareem Hunttoo old? Uh, yes, he
hasn't. Just that he's also hasn'treally played a lot. So this is

(01:23:57):
there's a big list here, man. Uh I it's it's it's kind of
weird. Kareem Hunt, Matt Brada, Jared Kennon, Jacob Johnson, Kevin
Smith, Melvin Gordon, Alex Arma, Brandon bolten Eno, Benjamin Kashawn Vaughan,
Dion Jackson, deep, does anyname there no something where you want,

(01:24:19):
you want to give it, youwant to put it in the hands
of a rookie. Yeah, Ikind of would, but also just I
mean, if something does come up, Cam' Maker should be available, Latavius
Murray should be available. You shouldbe able to get those guys. But
that's really the only thing is ifthere is a need to get a veteran
player at a position that all ofa sudden just became really thin or it's

(01:24:39):
just not producing the way you wanted, then two players I want to ask
you about, and I'm just curiouswhy Kenny Gainwell and James Bradberry are still
on the team. So Bradbury.I don't get because they're trying to move
him to safety. Were they tryingto or just like, hey, let's
do are you moving him to safetywhen you just spent thirty eight million on

(01:24:59):
us? If that is the thingthey have read Blanken ship in there and
and a host of other players.God, I'm sorry, I don't know
if that was just something they wantedto try just to see, Hey,
why the heck not if brad BarrySidney Brown, right, you know,
what's what's the experiment? I mean, just get rid of the money.
So if they if they are seriousabout putting brad Bury in safety, like

(01:25:23):
that's their experiment and they're gonna tryand see if that works before they release
him. Just cut him now,he's already I agree. That's if that's
you're thinking of, Well, hecan't play the cornerback position, in the
outside cornerback position, then he can'tplay at all. Then you should just
let him go. I don't Idon't see how this can look good for
the organization in any capacity. Evenif he plays well. The second he

(01:25:48):
gets burned, everybody's gonna say,why didn't you cut this guy? And
why are you not letting the kidsplay. There's just there's no there's no
way this move can uh can canwork for the team from a pr standpoint
or from a win standpoint. Justcurious about that man. Well anyway,

(01:26:15):
Yeah, Kenny Gainwell, they're goingto keep around. You know, he's
been in the system, a differentsystem, but he's been around something that
somebody that they're definitely comfortable with.I think too comfortable with at times,
because they give him a lot ofvery high situation, like high leverage carries
and I don't know why. Sohe's and you know, he had more

(01:26:35):
carries than Miles Sanders in the SuperBowl. Yeah, and I guess he
was playing better than Miles Sanders atthat point. I didn't even really like
Miles Sanders all that much. ButKenny gain Well, I just don't think
it's been all that go. Thegood thing is I don't think he's going
to be getting as many carries ashe had in previous years because Miles Sanders
wasn't He was a good player, but Miles Sanders is not somebody you keep
out there all the time. Everytime DeAndre said to somebody who not keep

(01:26:59):
that, you don't keep out thereall the time. Every time Sagawa Barkley's
gonna be on the field the majorityof the time, there's not gonna be
many times to take him out.Do you think that I think they're gonna
I mean there could be times.I mean, I mean especially, I
think they're gonna save them. Ithink they're gonna could out there unless he
needs unless he's which by the way, is you know, not playing any

(01:27:19):
type of chess. But I don'tthink he's gonna be out there unless he's
getting the ball. Could be Istill think Saawad Barkley is like the majority
of their plants, and they're completelyfine with that, And so I do.
I think Kenny game will becomes likean inconsequential piece. But also I'm
fine him going. I'm going infor you know, maybe if he gets
five touches a game potentially, soyou think Shipley's gonna get more? Shipley

(01:27:45):
could Now Shipley's just a situational back. He's more if he need to spread
the field out a little bit.Decent pass cutch er. His hands are
okay, but when he gets theball in his hands, he's a good
route runner. But when he getsthe ball in his hands, He's a
verygant athlete, very fast. Sowill Shipley situationally can be good. But
I don't know if that's somebody youwould want as your second running back behind

(01:28:08):
say Kawed Barkley, because you're gonnaneed maybe some tough yards at times.
And Kenny Gang well, I guessis the guy that they think who can
do that, who they've been usingbefore in situations like that too? Uh
you know what? Uh? Canwe can we take a short break and
then we'll end a little early, like two many thanks? God? Is

(01:28:29):
that cool? I've worked so hardin the show. I think I deserve
to go home early. That wasthe That was the first segment I actually
did anything, So I was happyabout that. I can't thank you enough
for being on top of Yeah.Yeah, hey, at least I shut
up. I didn't interrupt you atall during your your announcement. You know
what, the first time that's happenedsince we started working together. The first

(01:28:49):
time I just shut the hell up. Yeah, let's take a two minute
break. I have to pay,That's why I guess. Sorry. Uh
Greenley Radio, Fox Sports The Gamblerone't two point five f M Philadelphia.

Back for a final segment, AllEagles possible free agents. Right after this

(01:29:09):
spreads totals and all the prop that'sin between. It's the Gambler, all
right, it but in Green LegionRadio. Here on Fox Sports, The
Gambler one O two point five themPhiladelphia, brought to you by our friends

(01:29:32):
of Cheerleaders Gentlemen's Club. I appreciateyou guys hanging with us the entire time
here. I appreciate the love andsupport. After making my retirement announcement.
Uh once again, I'm not reallyever gonna get away from the entire thing.
And I certainly uh win and ifsomebody purchases the company, I'm gonna

(01:29:54):
be there to to groom them andand and and still be a part as
long as somebody will allow me.Uh And once again, I will continue
to run tailgates at Exfinity Live.I'll take a yeah, sure no,
and uh uh continue to host thepregame show if that's if that's acceptable to

(01:30:15):
everyone, I'd like to do thatthat The pregame show has been honestly one
of the most one of the mostfun things I've managed to to to do
as a as a byproduct of this. Uh, I I kinda I think

(01:30:39):
it's I think it's funny. HTo be honest with you, I had
no radio experience. I still Istill don't even consider this radio experience anytime
I need anytime I need a lifeline. I just asked chance and to talk,
and you know he's he's good withall good hosts. Do hey,
co host, just talk, Pleasesay something, do something mayonnaise? Got

(01:31:00):
it? Yeah, yes, butuh uh, I definitely want to continue
to do that. It's just beena lot of fun and uh, actually
never I still don't think I'm I'mI'm I'm good at it, but I
think I'm getting deaferly not definitely not. And everybody, we're finished. Thanks,
good, good, All right,So, uh, depth of wide

(01:31:24):
receiver? Do you think that's aposition to still look at from a free
agent standpoint? Because I have somenames for you. I would actually like
to hear that they tried to getone guy in free agency and I absolutely
hated it, and it was DevonteParker. So I'm glad that that's not
actually going to be the case wherehe has to play a single snap for
the Philadelphia Eagles. But yeah,I would be let's just say, I

(01:31:45):
comfortable with Paris Campbell. Yeah,as a talent, Yes, with injuries.
No, Michael Thomas, m whichone Renfro? See why not Hunter
Refro? I like that name bigreceiver too. Yeah, And I'm not
a big Hunter Referro guy. Buthe certainly fits a certain archetype of wide

(01:32:10):
receiver, like that slid inside thirdwide receiver that it just feels like the
Eagles don't have on this roster. That is that is kind of you know,
we we do talk about the factthat we arguably have the best tandem
of receivers in the two two ofthe best outside wide receivers, absolutely,
and and you know, the coregroup between the quarterback and these receivers are

(01:32:32):
locked up for the next three yearsand and and running back. You know,
if we think Barkley still has threeyears left in the tank. Uh.
But you know, once again,if if if a receiver goes down,
you know, it's it's it's it'sit's a damn It is a brutal,

(01:32:56):
brutal and nasty, nasty offense togame play against. Unless somebody's not
there and you know where we uhwe have? Yeah, I would just
want to know who's receivers. Youknow, I don't think we have anything
after that? Yeah, well,I just want to know, like what
would their plan be? Like isJohnny Wilson was a late war what is

(01:33:19):
their plan B? Right? Like? Right, what's their plan B?
Or? Like what are they seeingwith some of these backup guys? Who
are there's some young guys in there. John Ross is older, but there's
some young guys in there. Dothey see Britain Covey taking a little bit
more workload a wide receiver if somebodywould go down? Do they believe it
in aas Smith and Johnny will see? Do they really think Paris Campbell's coun

(01:33:39):
they stay healthy enough all season?I just they're gonna need more than two
wide receivers this season, even ifthose guys stay healthy, Like, what's
the plan? Uh? You gotCorey Davis as well? I don't know
why they have Julio Jones as thefourth most attractive receiver. Yeah, let's
not do that again. COI Davis? Because I like Corey. He's coming

(01:34:00):
out of college, he's been aplayer like Davis. Well, you know,
what we have to remember, he'sstill he's still an outside guy,
would fit exactly what I think theyneed. I do like the Hunter Renfro
concept here, but you know it, well, the thing is he is
a Remember we're looking for the thirdoption right now. Yeah, and you

(01:34:24):
know maybe, well you have RussellGage, Alex Ericsson, Lynn Bowden,
Randall Cobb, Robbie Chosen, RichieJames, Jaquem Grant, and Marktavis.
Now yeah, now you're losing mewith a lot of those guys. Yeah,
I'm just but Hunter Renfro, I'deven consider Corey Davis. I know
he's an outside guy, but yeah, no, if I mean a guy

(01:34:45):
that could easily still get four hundredto five hundred yards in a year,
that's fine with me. That's allhe ended And four or five touchdowns is
all you need out of them.Yeah you don't. You don't need much.
He's been a solidly productive player.Yeah, he's not anything as good
as he was a few years agowhen he first in was in Tennessee,
but still solid guy, like aveteran guy I'd love to have around.
Here's a great question. I'll throwit to you, Ed Wakeley. Is

(01:35:06):
there some thought that Bradbury improves underFangio, No, because a lot of
his issues were outside of scheme. If there were schematic issues, absolutely,
but it wasn't. It wasn't anythingscheme. He just was he physically just
not good enough, just couldn't keepup. Yeah, speed's not good enough,
like physically. Isn't it funny howwe thought Darius Slay was the one

(01:35:29):
that was uh Slay I thought lookedgood, you know not. I think
Slay is like a number one lockdown, like he's the best cornerback in the
league. But Slay is still areally good cornerback in the NFL. James
Bradbury lost it felt like, uhnot just one step, it looked like
he lost two or three steps.Yeah yeah, all right, well let's
uh, let's keep going here becauseuh well, let's see Jesus the list.

(01:35:56):
There are some guys that can improveunder a Fangio, Like Fangio is
going to help out all. Ithink defensive line is gonna be held out
a lot. It's gonna be theit's gonna be the younger guys, and
it's gonna be maxing out their talent. Yeah. Yeah, well that's the
thing. A lot of the rookieguys. I think it can mold pretty
quickly. This is this is funnyby the way you look at tight end
free agents. Uh, there's nothingthere, Jimmy Graham, and they already

(01:36:20):
have one of those league, Theyalready have one of those guys that you
consider that. No, no,no, no, here we go,
all right, Dalton Schultz? Noall right, yeah, no, no,
no, shut up. Christ's sake. Uh, you know, the
Cowboys franchise tag him. He getspissed off about that, but he makes

(01:36:41):
fifteen and a half million that year. Then he goes to Houston for one
year deal and then signs a threeyear, thirty six million dollar extension.
Doesn't sound like a lot of moneyto me for what is arguably top five
tight end in the league and wasused considerably in that offense. Thoughts,

(01:37:05):
Yes, tight end, but Ithink any list of free agent tight ends
are gonna give me they're all gonnabe equivalent to a guy like c.
J Uzoma, who they signed. So they do have a decent No,
no, no, no, no, I'm asking what do you think about
that contract for Dalton Schultz? Ohbad? I thought you were talking about
how the offense is going to beusing tight ends and if they have enough,

(01:37:26):
Yeah, I like Dalton Schultz.Maybe maybe Houston is going to all
in I guess, but on ona guy like Dalton Schultz because I think
he's just a fine tight end.I don't think he's spectacular top five,
but he seems to fit what Houstonlikes to do. And as long as
it's comfortable and they're comfortable using him, then yeah, I think it works
out, especially with a young quarterbacklike CJ. Shroud to continue to have

(01:37:48):
weapons that he seems to vibe with. I gotta get to this right now
because we're running out of time here. It is ye way to think it
through birds best remaining linebacker free agents. Yeah, you don't want to see

(01:38:09):
that, Shaq, Leonard, Zachcunning In Kwan, Alexander Wait, I
love it the first two or juston the Eagles they were they were terrible
and terrible. Uh and Josh Woodsdo you now Here's do I want any

(01:38:29):
of them? This goes back toed all right. Obviously the defensive schematics
last year were completing utter crap. All right? Do you possibly give another
opportunity to Zach or Shaq? Underfan Gioe. But I think if they,

(01:38:51):
if they were going to, theywould have done so by now.
No, because you're you're going togive more of a chance to Jeremiah Trottery
Junior. You're going to give moreof a chance in Nikobe. I mean,
you know, they they've already broughtin a couple of linebackers over under
right now, one hundred bucks.I say week four they might have to
sign somebody. No, I sayweek four that they do Okay out for

(01:39:15):
the season injury yep, I meanyeah. I mean the thing is he
hasn't hasn't been able to hold upphysically. That is, that is a
legit concerns a problem. I don'tI don't want to jinx the whole thing.
But yeah, obviously you don't wantto wish it on on him and
you don't want to. But yeah, you know, I think it was
now we're starting to realize why theguy dropped. All right, And first

(01:39:36):
hold on, you know, Idon't want to be I don't want to
be the media guy in Philadelphia thatdamns this kid to uh uh to the
friend zone. All right. II want him to do well, I
really do, I really do.But man, it just he it seemed
even with him healthy last year,he will is his tackles were from behind,

(01:40:04):
and I just I don't see it. I don't see it. And
that's what's That's that's what you're gonnafind out. You know, I I
understand and I truly truly enjoy thechange of of the fundamental approach to drafted
Halling and and and Jeffrey have startedto make by uh going after high profile

(01:40:30):
program players. But what you're alsogoing to find out within that structure is
who is actually talented and who playswell within a system. And I'm starting
to think that Nakobe Dean might bethat guy that played well within a system.
You're talking about a guy right now. Oh god, I just did

(01:40:51):
that. I just Chris Collins wheresomebody. She's done this multiple times,
by the way, and I've calledyou out on it, and you have
not ever reacted to me saying, hey, keep plowing me out, So
I stop it. Here's the guy. Well, the Kobe Dean is now
playing. He's looking he's looking atthe same two big butts that he did

(01:41:15):
when they won a national championship. And Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis all right.
You gotta think that he should feelreally comfortable in this situation. It
should strive and should be successful. But if you can't stay on the field,
we're not gonna find out whether thisis the case. So again,

(01:41:36):
I as you just said, whatwe've seen on the field, it's been
some of it's been fine, likenothing. The thing is, he's never
out of place. He seems todo okay. It's just he's not a
spectacular player. He's not a Idon't know if he's one that should be
even starting in the league all thatmuch, but we have to and you
just, yeah, he's definitely undersize. You're just gonna have to figure

(01:41:57):
out if if it's Weather, wantto Nikobe Deane or Jeremiah Trotter Junior that
can step up and be at somepoint a TJ. Edwards, and not
to say to get to that levelright away, but just somebody that you
can see some signs of developing intothat. And I think Trotter Junior to
me fits that more than Dean. Are we last statement then we're gonna get

(01:42:18):
out of here. Are we goingto expect too much from Trotter Junior?
Some will, Yeah, absolutely,it will be that's an unconscious thing,
like, yes, it's just hisdad was such a great legal I find
that pick to be counterproductive in everyway. I liked it because they definitely

(01:42:41):
need a linebacker, and Jeremiah Trotterjunior at that round is a nice,
nice piece because maybe the the sizeand the athleticism are a big issue for
him. Now he's six foot sothat's a pretty good side, but he's
only two twenty five, so he'sa little bit leaner, and he's all
not the least six feet. That'syou know, that's not terrible. It
means he's probably five ten. ButI think Jeremiah tried to junior at that

(01:43:04):
point, right, you're gonna beable to play him. He's played a
good amount of college ball. It'ssomebody you just plug in and see,
Okay, he's a good ballplayer ontape. Can his physical attributes match on
an NFL field and you just seeand you just try out. And I
think at that round it was worthit. Especially Fortina is media linebacker extremely.
I just we're in that situation nowwhere there is there is a needed

(01:43:30):
linebacker unless they really feel like oneof these guys can can pop here as
on the NFL level, and Ijust don't see it not being a negative
nelly like I normally am. It'sjust you're asking a lot from a lot
of guys that have been in theleague for one or two years. And
you know, hey, we talkedabout it last week with the with the
secondary as as bountiful as it is, you know, you can cheat,

(01:43:56):
you can you can get away withsome things with with our secondary. Hell,
you know, maybe put Bradberry upuh in the uh in the will
linebacker position. But uh, it'sjust you're still you gotta you gotta stop
denying that position. You guys,it's just gonna wind up being the one

(01:44:18):
Achilles and if he and if youget past Milton, Jordan and Jalen,
you know, here's there's problems. There's problems, but let's uh, Ed
Wakeley likes it. Renfro in theslot agreed, Yes, I wonder what

(01:44:39):
he wonder what his price tag is, but I guess we'll find out whether
you know anyway, Uh, youguys, thank you all for for joining
me on what was not gonna bean easy day for me. Thank you,
thank you, uh all I haveI love you guys, and and
