Speaker 2 (00:25):
Just got to get out there and swing and ding it.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Yeah, you know, just guess it's gonna go out there
and try to swing it and ding it.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
All right, welcome in to swing it and ding it.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
In twenty twenty five, this is Moose along with Mas
and Matthews as we're getting ready to kick off another
PGA Tour season. Lift Golf season.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
Just say the game over now and whatever will become
of these tours.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
We still don't know that we thought we would be
coming into this year maybe having a clue what's going on.
If you get a chance, check out on our social
media's great recap of twenty twenty four for us, some
of the great guests, obviously the local guests like you
know Rusk and Jim Smith and Sean Palmer, and then
you know some of the big names in golf, whether
it was Facts or John Wood or Michael Collins, or
(01:10):
Kevin Roy, so great, great time just looking back and
seeing seeing some of that stuff. But yeah, twenty twenty
four was interesting. I mean it was obviously dominated by
Scotty Rights, It's the year of Scotty, one of the
greatest seasons ever. But also the other stuff that went
along with it was really wild. Like, like we mentioned,
we still don't know what's going on with with living PGA.
(01:32):
You had a guy that won two majors that wasn't
the player of the year, which is crazy in Xander,
and you have you know, Bryson to Shambeau emerging as
the most likable human being in the game of golf. Right,
it was an interesting year. What do you guys remember
the most about it? Start with you, Danielle.
Speaker 5 (01:48):
I mean, like you said, when you think of, you know,
a professional golf on the PGA Tour in twenty twenty four,
you can't not talk about Scottie Scheffler. Nine victories, you know,
went at the Masters. I feel like just twenty twenty
four belongs to him. Obviously you mentioned mentioned Xander as well,
but I think those who kind of sum up the
twenty twenty four PGA Tour.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Yeah, a police, a police officer or cooking at a dinner, Harry.
That's the only thing that can stop Scotty Scheffler.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
That's about it.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Yeah, A shard of glass apparently over the holidays got him.
But you know, I just keep remember our thinking back
to the US Open and just Bryson de Shambo overtaking
the imploding Rory McElroy at Pinehurst. I thought that was
an unbelievable like thing to watch. It was, it was,
It was just epic. I mean, with me, everything's about
(02:39):
Rory McElroy in one way.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Ship.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Yeah, but I do have a prediction for Rory McElroy
that I will unveil in this week's this week's.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Show that is positive. So I will see that out there.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
The US Open with Bryson and Shambo, you know, Scotty
Scheffler getting arrested at at Valhalla, I mean that was
the one of the most surreal moments in.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Sports for let alone, forget golf. That was just bizarrow Land.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
So I mean, yeah, it was crazy year crazy, and
you know, I'm looking forward to to this season. It
gets you know, we're Affings season begins today and you've
got primetime golf tonight.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Folks, we get six pm.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
They start on the Golf Channel from Kapall Lewis, so
you're getting like six to ten pm tonight.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (03:24):
That's weird.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
Yeah, different, different though It's not that Tournament of Champions
this year, which are kind of like, you know, I
was just expecting that and I was looking at the field,
I'm like wait a second, and I was like, oh yeah,
I switched up this year and we started it.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Chris Kirk, who won this won this event surprisingly last year.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
And then you know, there were some you know, obviously
it was.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Top heavy when when you you're dealing with Scottie, but
there were some great stories, some great young players, and
obviously some great shots, some great moments. You know, the
President's Cup stands out, especially in the year where we
have such a huge Ryder Cup coming up, but it
kind of makes you focus back on that. But uh yeah,
all for the money, Yeah, I think the European team
(04:06):
is going to hammer that home, right, Like that's gonna be.
Speaker 6 (04:09):
A country you guys need to get paid.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
I think I'm betting Team Europe Wow upset city on
home soil.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
I think it's gonna happen. I actually do Wow.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Yeah, wow that's a breaking news, breaking news moment for sure.
Speaker 6 (04:27):
Take it to the bank.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
I mean, I think about some of the you know,
some of the moments, right. It's funny when you look
at the schedule. We'll kind of go through a little
bit of the schedule, you know, but by the travelers
right by so by like the end of May, early June,
you know, signature events are wrapped. You know, you have
you know, you go into the Ryder Cup and and
(04:49):
and everything else later in the year, FedEx Cup playoffs
and all that. But definitely want to go through the
master I mean not the Masters, the Majors, and uh
and talk about some of those courses. We have a
big event coming to Philly, a signature event, the Truest
Championship the Cricket Club in May, so that's super exciting.
But uh yeah, let's talk about some of these tournament
(05:10):
shots that if you see, if anybody remembers any of.
Speaker 6 (05:12):
These, yeah, you want to start us off most Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
I mean, well, the one for me is Xander right like,
and he had a couple, but the one at Merefield
Village from the bunker, you know, he had the one
too in the Major two where the ball was above
his feet where he had that incredible shot. So because
it's funny, like he doesn't give you that much. He's
not a flashy player. Yeah, but when he makes some
of these shots, you're like Jesus, he's just so automatic
(05:36):
most of the time. So it's cool to see him
in a bit of a different situation and going after it.
That was that jumped out of me.
Speaker 6 (05:44):
Yeah, it was from the bunker, went in, out and
then back in. That was that was pretty great.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
One of the ones that that I thought was funny,
like one of the craziest shots. Peter Malnay the Black
Desert Championship, he quote said, I mean, that's the stupidest thing,
and he goes, nice double. He hit two shots, ob
and then he holds out from the fairway and everyone's
like yeah, and he's like, it's for a double.
Speaker 6 (06:07):
So an all time.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Six there, that's better than an eight.
Speaker 6 (06:11):
It's better than an eight. It's better than an eight.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
I remember Adam Shank hitting that his ball into a
spectator's cup. Heard their drink went right into like a cocktail,
looked like a vodka cranberry and and with a.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Title is pro v and what kind of drink that's
what it looked like.
Speaker 6 (06:30):
It wasn't a transfusion.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Maybe it was. Maybe it was a transfusion.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
It is like the interesting shots are always to me
are always the ones where you get the relief right where.
You know, there was a video a couple of years
back of you know, Brandon Matthews climbing on top of
a you know, structure to get to a ball and
Danielle was up there with him. So like, those are
the ones, like the one that the Valera texts open
with speed yeh, he hits it into a gutter. You know,
(06:57):
you get the relief, and then there's always the controversy,
right they have gotten a relief where should it be?
But those are always, uh make for some interesting moments,
especially on social media.
Speaker 6 (07:07):
Oh yeah for sure.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Welly and Matt Kocher had that one at in Greensboro.
Remember where he made people come back the next day?
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Oh my god, remember on the on the eighteenth hole
and hen he got some crazy relief in the He
didn't finish, No, he didn't finish.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
And everyone's like hot, he makes everybody come back and yeah, all.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
The security people had to come back for Monday morning
just so he could like hit two shots.
Speaker 6 (07:30):
Yeah. Another one we can't go without mentioning is Luod Veig.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
I think that the shot I was rewatching it this morning,
one hundred and eighty one mile an hour ball speed.
But he hits the ball with his driver and his
club head launches I don't even know, probably further than
what I hit. My pitching wedge just zooms off, and
even with the head flying off the driver, he still
drives the green and sticks it to like eight feet.
Speaker 6 (07:52):
I must have watched that shot like ten times on replay.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
I like Ludwig this year. I think he's gonna have
a big, big year about him when we when we
see the line here for the century. But I really
do like lud big. But let's take a look at
some of the events coming up with the majors. You
have obviously the Masters, right, everyone knows when that is
in early April. Quel Hollow we get to see her
(08:17):
for the PGA Championship YEP starting in May fifteenth, and
then I have a couple stars next to some events
and the US Open at Oakmont on June twelfth, starting
starting is I cannot wait to see that, having played
there this year and experiencing that place, and that course
I am dying to see that.
Speaker 5 (08:38):
Yeah, we could probably have a whole episode on Just
Moose's Travels.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Yeah, I see what I could do for time, the
whole five podcast. And then the Open in July at
Royal Port Rush. So I mean just obviously they're incredible events,
incredible locations, they always are. But so those and then
the Truest Championship that cricket and then the Ryder Cup
at beth Page, like, those are the ones that are
(09:03):
just circle for me.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Royal Port Russia returned and that was where Shane Lowry
won his Claret jug and that was where I took
Rory that week and his first t shot I believe
went out of bounds and he put up a seven
on the first hole and was never heard from.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Again and missed the cut. Wow. Yeah, you think I
don't remember this stuff.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
He probably was favored going in.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
He was, he was.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
Yeah, Brandon actually played Royal Port Russia and the Amateur
Championship in twenty fourteen.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Yeah, did he like it? Did? Do you remember what
he said?
Speaker 6 (09:41):
I remember the shirt he brought me back.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
Ninety eight days till the Masters.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
That's right here. You know, when you look at the
signature events, you know, talked about how they're very most
of them are are very early right at and t
Pebble Beach right at the end of January. Not a
signature event, but obviously the waste manage of Phoenix Open
is one of the biggest in the game. You have
the Genesis, Arnold Palmer. The Players is kicks off on
(10:10):
the thirteenth of March RBC. I always love the RBC
because it's they put it right after the Masters and
making a signature event, so like you don't get that
huge legdown.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
Yeah, and then and then.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Philly Cricket for the truest kicking off on May, and
then Moriil and Travelers rounded off and then FedEx Cut
playoffs August seventh, those three weekends in a row, Memphis
Caves Valley and then East Lake for the.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
Return the Caves Valley, which is where Bryson de Shambeau
and Patrick can't land like that battle.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Yeah, making seven six or seven extra holes, wasn't it.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (10:49):
It was crazy.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Yeah, Yeah, no doubt about it. So we'll talk.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
About that my on my schedule though, Like I can't
wait for the world to really see Philly golf, you know,
get a little peak at Philly Cricket.
Speaker 6 (11:00):
We got to figure out a way to get there,
do a couple of live shows.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
Yeah, we're talking to the we're talking to the tour. Yeah,
we're hoping I do something, that's for sure. Daniel, wy
don't you start us off with some tea and then
we'll go from there.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
Oh yeah, we got so much to talk about it
and we haven't done a show in a minute, so
I'm just like, Okay, what tea is?
Speaker 6 (11:17):
Old? What is I don't even know what's going on.
Speaker 5 (11:21):
But yeah, let's take a look at Uh did you
guys see John Daly's New year celebration?
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Yep?
Speaker 6 (11:28):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
He amused fans by sharing a video of him hitting
a ball across the street while of course smoking a cigarette.
So too bad he's not about like twenty five years younger,
because him and Charlie Hall would be the ideal couple.
They would just be like, I don't even know. I'd
love to see that, although Harry might have a problem
with that. I think they'd be a good couple.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Oh no, it'd be great, but it would if you
say he was younger.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Mean, can you imagine him and Bryson going at it.
Speaker 5 (11:57):
Jesus.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
You know, think about that if they were the same
age or similar ages, that would be awesome.
Speaker 6 (12:02):
Oh yeah, that really loved it.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
The execs at the PGA Tour so that they're getting
ready for a new errand Sports. They just identified that,
you know, I'm sure with a little help from bryceon
that content is king and they needed to figure something out.
So they unveiled a new one hundred and sixty five
thousand square foot production facility called PGA Tour Studios and
it's on campus at Panavidra Beach in Florida. So we'll
see what kind of content comes out of there. They'll
(12:28):
be doing all types of stuff. So excited to see
more access to some of these players inside the tour looks.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
And you know, maybe from the commission, maybe from players.
We'll see what happens.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Well, I saw the drone fly through the facility. It
had it up on social media a couple of days ago.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
It was really cool.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
It is cool, but what I thought would eventually happen.
It will eventually happen is Golf Channel will be no
more and PGA Tour will be doing all their own stuff.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Yes, went out of there.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Because the golf channels based big investment, Like yeah, yeah
it is, but they got tons of money.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
And NBC has been trying to bail on the Golf channel,
you know. Ever since they took off Morning Drive, they've
been slowly sort of siphoning it out of there, right, Yeah,
so I think it'll disappear altogether.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
It's tough too, right.
Speaker 5 (13:19):
It's like you you turn on Golf Channel and you
want to see some golf news. You turn it on
and it's like, okay, here's like a replay from the
Zozo Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
No, yeah, or Tiger from nineteen you know whatever.
Speaker 6 (13:30):
You know, yeah, that's that I got mind as much.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
But yeah, just a random tournament.
Speaker 6 (13:35):
Yeah, Like I'm like, okay, you know what is this?
Speaker 5 (13:39):
Golf writer Steve Meglio did lose his battle with cancer.
That was in the news as well. So a little
bit of tea there. And Harry, you just brought up Tiger,
you know, old old content from nineteen ninety nine. Tiger
Woods turned forty seven on Monday, and justin Ray, one
of my favor that I like to follow on X
(14:01):
he creates a thread every year for Tiger and his
birthday and you know who doesn't love tiger talk.
Speaker 6 (14:06):
So Brandon and I were kind of going over some
of these stats.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
We were talking, and I'm like, all right, we got
to talk about some of this on the pod because.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
That's funny, right if you're a younger and you're like, man,
Scottie Scheffler, what a year he did?
Speaker 5 (14:18):
And you're like and then it's like, you know, Justin
Rego is hold on a second, let's not forget about this,
and he pulls up some of these stats.
Speaker 6 (14:26):
So I pulled a bunch. I shared him with you guys,
so you don't have to hear my voice the entire time.
Speaker 5 (14:30):
But let's take a little, you know, dive into this
and to celebrate his birthday.
Speaker 6 (14:36):
Not even forty, you know, not.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Even he's he's forty nine. He's a year away from
the Champion Champions Tour.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
Yeah, which is really cool.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Yeah that's right.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
He almost fifty.
Speaker 6 (14:46):
Yeah, so one more year. But do you think he
plays on Champions Tour? I don't. I think it's egos
are gonna be like nah.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
You know, for some reason I think he will.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Maybe it's because I want him to so badly, because
that tour needs a shot.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
In the arm like you wouldn't believe.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Yeah, and we thought Phil would have would have done
that full you know, more full time.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
But we've also where he went. Uh so it would
be really cool.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
I mean, you know, think of the money that they
would probably be able to raise as far as sponsorships
for that programming.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
It really basically goes unwatched.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Yeah, I mean everybody would tune everybody to watch his
golf would be tuning into that tour.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Oh yeah, you know five six even if he only
plays five or six times a year.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Yeah, they don't play every week anyway, and they only
play three rounds outside and yeah, it's perfect for him.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Damn.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
The other one that jumps out at me because you know,
you talk about Scheffler and how dominant he was, but
he had an issue where he was kind.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
Of missing shorter puts for a little bit of time.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
And he said, from from two thousand and four to
two thousand and six, Tiger had fourteen hundred and sixty
six putts from three feet and in measured by shot link,
he was three of them.
Speaker 6 (15:54):
Isn't that silly?
Speaker 5 (15:55):
I tell you, I was going through these and I
was just like mind blown, Like I was like reading
them out loud, like these are funny, like they're they're
just so good. But yeah, let's take a look at
some of these and go through. In the last sixty years,
there are three instances of a player winning five or
more PGA Tour starts in a row, and they belonged
(16:15):
to tiger Woods with seven, Tiger Woods with six, and drum.
Speaker 6 (16:21):
Roll, Tiger Woods with five, Like, are you kidding?
Speaker 2 (16:26):
That is incredible?
Speaker 6 (16:27):
Oh yeah?
Speaker 1 (16:28):
And then of course the made cuts list. I don't
know if you have that on the list, but he
made one hundred and forty two straight cuts that will
never be broken ever.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
Ever, let's speaking of majors.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
From the nineteen ninety nine PGA through the two thousand
and one Masters, Tigers finishes and the majors were win, fifth, win, win,
win win. In next span, he had five major wins
and only four players finished ahead of him combined. Unbelievable.
Speaker 6 (16:54):
It's just silly. You're just like, are these even like
real stats? You know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (17:01):
Tiger is the only player since nineteen fifty to win
the same PGA Tour event four years in a.
Speaker 6 (17:06):
Row, and he's done it twice.
Speaker 5 (17:08):
Bayhill from two thousand to two thousand and three and
the Buique Invitational from two thousand and five to two
thousand and eight.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Incredible, really is Yeah. I mean he had you know,
five or six different.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Venues that he was just so doomatic him.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
You know, like Firestone in Akron, Ohio. I don't know
how many times he won there. He mentioned Bayhill, he's
you know, and you know Tory Pines. There were certain
places that he just tore apart.
Speaker 6 (17:33):
Oh yeah, yeah. We have to mention this last one too.
Speaker 5 (17:37):
The best score to part in Majors from ninety seven
to two thousand and nine with a minimum of seventy
rounds Tiger one hundred and thirty four under or minus
one thirty four Phil plus ninety nine Pernie.
Speaker 6 (17:49):
Plus one eighteen.
Speaker 5 (17:51):
Phil was the only player within two hundred and fifty
strokes of Tiger.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
That's incredible. I never heard that one before.
Speaker 6 (18:00):
Oh yeah, that one's so if you get a chance,
go an X.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
If you're not already follow Justin Ray, take a look
at the thread. I mean, he posts incredible stats all
the time, but take a look at this thread on Tiger.
Speaker 6 (18:11):
It's just it's silly, great stuff.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
The world golf championships too. Yeah, I mean that's you
know what what what's what do you win?
Speaker 2 (18:20):
In seventeen stroke play events? He won twelve.
Speaker 6 (18:25):
Incredible one hundred and ninety nine hunder par in those events,
unbelievable one hundred and.
Speaker 5 (18:30):
Thirty one shots better than anybody else with Nike clubs.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
Yeah, right right where all the all the new equipment's
rolling out. Harry and I were talking about it. It's
like how many times can you use the phrase AI
and advertising and marketing right now? It's like every single
you know, if we if we hit five five yards
farther every year, we should be hitting at six hundred
yards by now with the technology. But yeah, I can't.
I can't wait to see everything, but I'll buy something.
(18:55):
Let's of course, well let's talk about that the year.
Let's talk about Well, first of all, Harry, you're you're
heading down south? Is that correct that we got some
news where you're gonna be uh getting some coverage here?
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Yeah, I'm gonna be going to the PGA show. I'll
see you then Orlando, I'll see Danielle there.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
I'm gonna be there.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
I'll be Tuesday and Wednesday, the first two days I've
been doing a lot of a lot of video work
with with Jack Flanagan and inside Golf, you know, going
around the show.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
The demo day is Tuesday. They started off.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
With the demo day, and that's when we'll get a
look at all the new equipment.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
Yeah, that's set the Orange County Golf Course. And then
the next.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Day we'll be all inside the Orlando Convention Center and
there's like eleven hundred I want to say eleven hundred vendors.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
It's unbelievable.
Speaker 6 (19:45):
There's a ton Harry can give you two things.
Speaker 5 (19:48):
You're gonna laugh at me, but definitely, you know, bring
some extra clothes because the past few years it's been
so cold a demo day, Like I'm not even kidding,
I'm like freezing.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
So well, I'm gonna play golf that week too, so
I will bring, yeah, slacks and fleeces and all that
beanie you.
Speaker 5 (20:03):
Know, just in case you're singing and ding a beanie.
I'm not even okay, Harry, but I'm telling you in
the morning, if we have you know, if you have
a eight a m T round, you know, tea time,
it could be like fifty five degrees from your first oh.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Guys, be where a beanie for his eight a m T.
Speaker 6 (20:24):
Time's out loud. No, he's probably in short, he's sill.
But I told you all, I'm a marshmallow. I'm soft
blood stinned. I'll bring you a beanie just in case hair.
Speaker 5 (20:36):
Okay, But also, let's link up, you know, offline to
schedule some things. Maybe there's a couple events at night,
there's like a concert, there's a few different things, So
come hang with us.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Okay, sounds good. Yeah, looking forward to that.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
Any other any other trips, any other golf away from home? Well,
I was want to talk about Arizona.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
We got I was in Arizona for for a week.
That was outstanding.
Speaker 6 (21:02):
Did you get us a new sponsor? I heard ship
Sticks might be interested in sponsoring the show.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
They I gotta I gotta give them a their due
because they refunded half of the trip of you know
what it costs to ship and you know all the
golf clubs, so they cut that in half, and then
they paid for both of our rental sets for both days.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
So I felt I felt like that was pretty solid.
Speaker 6 (21:26):
Yeah, they should have refunded on under but well, yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
We'll talk about the golf were The.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Golf was great.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
We played four days, four different spots, and Kintaro is
a must play if you're ever near Phoenix. In Taro,
it's way out in the it's forty five to fifty
minute ride from Scottsdale.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Like there's no cell service there. You're like up in
the hills. Cactus, yes, cactus.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
There's there's like wild pigs running around the javelinas.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
They're all over a place.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
There's donkeys walking around on the golf course. Yeah, the
place is inact.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
When we played Mirabelle, which was the same thing.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
Mirabelle was out yeah, out far and it would say
there were these wild hogs and yeah, yeah, it's crazy.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
And and apparently like they shoot them from helicopters.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Yeah did you.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Hear about that.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
There's too many of them. Yeah, and they like they wreck.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Stuff and they wrecked golf courses, like they eat they
come out to eat the rye grass. Apparently they can
do some real damage to a golf course, is what
I was hearing.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
So but from an airplane, oh yeah, with like a case.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Yeah yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:40):
And the people are doing it for sport, like you
know what a challenge.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
Well you remember the old Eagles quarterback Kevin Cobb used
to hunt them with a bow knife, with a knife.
Speaker 6 (22:51):
Yeah, yeah, that's more of it, you know, that's more
of a challenge.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
I mean I was literally within fifteen feet of like
a herd of them.
Speaker 6 (22:58):
Are they aggressive to people?
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Well, they weren't to us, but I think they can
be provoked. Wow, it was weird.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Man.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
I did somehow agressoling back in college.
Speaker 6 (23:07):
I did.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
Yes, I'd pinned a few. Yeah, I did a couple
moves back then. He did not as many now.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
But the Contaro's a must play and Wikipa is.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Outstanding if you ever get out there again.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
And plus they have a casino that you can in
a hotel you can stay right there on property. And
there's two golf courses. We played one of them. The
newest one is a core Crenshaw that is apparently off
the charts. The practice facility, I mean, it's top notch.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
I was blown away by how great it was.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
The other one, Lookout Mountain, was one of the most
interesting rounds, like interesting layouts I've ever seen. Really cool.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
I want to play it again. And then the first
day we played dub Valley Ranch. Now that front nine
on that was pretty out in front of you. The
back nine was kind of tricked up where you didn't
even know where to hit the ball, like you literally
I literally got on a couple of two boxes on
the inward nine and I'm like, where do I hit
the ball?
Speaker 2 (24:06):
You know? So I didn't. I didn't really like that
the nine holes at that place. But still in great shape.
I can't wait to go back. Love.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
When you hit any shots that were kind of off
the fairway, did you go searching for the ball or
did you say, you know, I'm gonna leave that up there.
I don't want to mess around any wildlife.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Well, there wasn't wildlife outside. There wasn't snakes. That's that's
where you're going.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
Yeah, comparently the snakes are all underground or wherever they go.
H there was no risk of snakes. Had it been
in you know, springtime, summertime, there's no way I'm going in.
But I did walk into some areas, you know, to
hit my ball.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
So it was a time of year thing for them
where they don't That's what That's.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
What I was told. Yeah, they're gone for the for
the season.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
Okay, And our friends from All Access helped you.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
Yeah, they set that whole thing up. Dan Dillon did
a tremendous job, you know. And then they give did
you get the app? Did they get you on the
vamos moose app to keep track of your where you're
going and what times your your tea times are.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
We got that all hooked up. It was great. I
can't wait to go on another one.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Check out all Access plan your trip for this year
next year. Do it through those guys. It will help
you out. There's a special pricing for our for our listeners,
so make sure you check out the link in our
Instagram bio for all Access. Don't check they'll they'll help
you out stream song. I haven't been yet in May.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
I love that you're looking forward to that. Yeah, that's
gonna be a lot of gambling on that.
Speaker 6 (25:36):
I know.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
I'm going to head back to Casta Campo this year.
I want to have Robert Burtel back on. The part
that stinks is Teeth of the Dog will be closed
twenty five. They're doing a major renovation of the course. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
However, between die for the Links.
Speaker 6 (25:52):
Dive four, I almost liked better beautiful. It's beautiful.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Really, there's a there's a private course on property called
La so I might have to see if I know
know a person or two and uh and get on that.
But there's plenty.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
There's plenty to do for a couple of day trips.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
That's the only thing I have scheduled. I know there
still talks about, uh, I guess for us for the Masters,
but now that people are back from back to life
in reality, we're going to see if that happens. Okay,
how about uh, Danielle, will you be traveling at all?
Speaker 6 (26:23):
I will be.
Speaker 5 (26:24):
But real quick, I have to say I played in it.
It's so funny. I'm so used to be playing. So
I'm always like, yeah, I played in the pro member
and I'm like, no, I didn't.
Speaker 6 (26:31):
I played in the member guest. I'm not a pro.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
But I played in the Old Palm Member guest with
my friend Gabby Papally, her mom Janet, and then Alex
Cutty hosted us over there. So two years ago Alex
and I won. Last year, I didn't get the invite
back because I was very pregnant.
Speaker 6 (26:47):
And then this year we didn't win.
Speaker 5 (26:50):
We were the featured group and we disappointed, but we
got fourth.
Speaker 3 (26:55):
Or fifth okay, yeah it was.
Speaker 5 (26:58):
You know, I just said to Gabby before we need
to have some swing juice at lunch because after we
both made the turn and grabbed tequila. At least it
worked for me. She I think she was just had
some nerves and you know whatever. But I started hitting
it pretty well. I will tell you. On the range though,
I was warming up, hit a shot and the head
(27:19):
flew off the hozzle of my seven iron. We almost
had a casualty before we even started. Oh yeah, So
finally I'm like, okay, I told her, she's she. They
invited me out to play again, either Appage or Old Palm,
and I said, no, hold me accountable, say I can't
play until I go get my clubs fit and get
my new set. We all know I've been talking about
that for like twelve and a half years. So I
actually talked to me all over at Jupiter Hills. I'm
(27:40):
going to get set up and hopefully get some new clubs.
Because then we went out on Christmas Eve. Teddy was
down here. We went with our friend Connor Brennan, myself
and Teddy. We played Turtle Christmas Eve, got some good
golf and had a blast.
Speaker 6 (27:53):
But you know.
Speaker 5 (27:53):
I was down the club and I was like, let's
get this together, let's you know, tune it in.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
So I'm excited for twenty twenty five.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Big goal, that's a good Yeah.
Speaker 6 (28:01):
Play some golf myself.
Speaker 5 (28:03):
I did see a you know, a little flyer in
the locker room. It was like women's league whatever, but
it said like, must be a thirty four plus handicap,
and I'm like, I don't. I'm not a thirty four.
I'm better than that. So I was like, okay, is
there a better league? But we'll say, I'll try to
find a women's league somehow on you know, over eternal,
see if we can do that. B returns starting on
(28:26):
corn but I think, like it's like I should know this.
I think he's starting maybe in like Argentina or something
like that, so I think maybe that's not the first
flight that I jump on. Plus I have a baucherette party.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
So twenty twenty five, Brandon's making some moves here.
Speaker 6 (28:44):
Yeah, so we'll be traveling.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Yeah, awesome.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
Are any personal golf goals for you this year?
Speaker 2 (28:50):
Golf goals?
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Well, yeah, I mean, I finally want to get down inside.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
I want to get down inside at twelve. That's my goal.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm with you. I'm with you. I
still have I still get to break eighty, so that
will that will be another one. I brought it down
a few points this year. I want to try to
bring it down a little bit more.
Speaker 6 (29:12):
I have a really true hat that says I can't
break eightie.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
Most people can't. Let's keep keep on telling me that.
Yet everybody I play with does.
Speaker 6 (29:22):
Well. You know, it's so funny.
Speaker 5 (29:23):
Somebody that on Christmas Eve after we went back into
the clubhouse, somebody said to me, they said, can I
tell you something.
Speaker 6 (29:29):
Your husband said to me?
Speaker 5 (29:30):
And I was like sure, and he's like, you know,
we played and we played an event here and I
was just getting so angry and this and that, and
he goes, I already knew what he was going to say, because.
Speaker 6 (29:39):
B says it to me all the time.
Speaker 5 (29:40):
And he goes, he put his arm around me, and
he goes, Bud, you're just not that.
Speaker 6 (29:44):
Good enough to get mad.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
He goes, you know, Brandon says to me, like, you
don't practice enough to get mad.
Speaker 6 (29:50):
I think he's just a little more gentle with me.
Speaker 5 (29:52):
But he said it to this guy and the guy
said that his wife sometimes yells at out the garage
to her husband when he's leaving for golf. She was, remember,
you're just not enough to get mad, And I thought
that was pretty funny.
Speaker 6 (30:05):
Like harriside, most of us can't break it.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
Yeah, exactly, tremendous. We're looking forward to a to a
good golf season, that's for sure. We well, we're still
debating on the our golf outing, timing wise, talking to
the club, seeing what they think. I get mixed reviews.
It's like when I tell people I'd love to do
in October. I It's like I'd be awesome, but then
they're like, yeah, but it's kind of the thing like
when you have it, like you know. So we'll see.
(30:29):
We'll see about that. But Danielle's got some equipment goals.
We talked about the mini driver. I actually might look
into it.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
Well, that's going to be the rage here in these
next couple of weeks. That's the equipment all starts to
come out, and you know, every company's going to want
to have their twelve and a half to thirteen degree driver,
you know, because we started seeing that appearing on the
PGA Tour.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
This past season. It's only been out for a season, right,
Danielle and Jeff.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
That's yeah, that's all I remember seeing them.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
Yeah yeah, So now that's going to be you know,
all of us mortals will be able to buy.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
I want so I expect.
Speaker 5 (31:01):
Harry, maybe we should go on a like, uh a
hunt looking for them at the.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
PGA show all over the place. Oh yeah, Titleist has
theirs out already, and I'm sure the other companies you know,
will do that too.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
But I'm sure there's going to be one in Moose's
bag by March.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
I'd say, Mark, I want to let all the technology
come out. I have full range of options, right. Well, see,
they got lined.
Speaker 5 (31:26):
They got in my head at the at old poem
when we're playing because somebody said, I don't remember I
was alex Or or Caddie or whatever, but they were
like the percentage of putts made, like you know, you know,
twenty five handicapp or below should be using a mallet putter,
and you know I got a scotty. I just like,
I like the looks of mind. I'm like, I'm not
moving my putter.
Speaker 6 (31:45):
But you know, it got in my head. I'm like,
should I a mallet Putter.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
I don't know get one of those make fields.
Speaker 6 (31:52):
There is a makefield that I am down in my garage,
but I don't know.
Speaker 4 (31:56):
Hair speaking, I switched that my midport.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
You switched back.
Speaker 6 (32:02):
Yeah, I'm with you.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
I just like I just felt like I had more
feel and more you know, more touched to it.
Speaker 5 (32:08):
I feel I feel like the mallet's like just like
it's like a spaceship. It's just too much for me
to look at it like.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
A strange look.
Speaker 6 (32:15):
Oh yeah, yeah, I don't want to look like I
have a laptop on.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
The stick, like well, that's like Brian Harmon.
Speaker 6 (32:22):
Yeah yeah, a frying pan on.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
A fishing pole. But speaking of equipment change, you see
what Max Homer did.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
Yeare apparel.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
Now he's with with Cobra and Puma shoes, but he
hasn't changed his ball that he's still playing the titleist
ball and he's still using the Scottie Cameron Potter. I
believed that the place, Well you talk about Lexi Thompson retiring,
so she's sort of moving out with Puma, and they
(32:57):
know that Fowler is washed.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
That's they know it. So they need somebody else and
they need injection.
Speaker 6 (33:03):
By Orange shirts this year hair.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
No, I don't think so, there'll be a lot of
discount rack Orange shirts.
Speaker 4 (33:09):
Yeah, interesting move.
Speaker 6 (33:12):
And then Lulu Lemon too is you know, what do
they do?
Speaker 2 (33:15):
I thought they only made women's stuff. It's a good investment,
it's investment.
Speaker 6 (33:21):
Yeah, yeah, they've made med stuff forever.
Speaker 5 (33:23):
But I think like Alo has been a big competitor
of there's at least in the women's space for you know,
at leisure where but I haven't seen them really break
into the golf space yet. So interested to see like
what this looks like, and also to see if it's
more of a like casual style if you will. You know,
we've seen them Alba on like stuff like they wear
and stuff, but I want to see it.
Speaker 3 (33:42):
It was very like plain, everything's very plain, yeah.
Speaker 6 (33:45):
Really tiny, little like subtle logos.
Speaker 5 (33:48):
But I want to see if it's more like the
hoodies and just like basic stuff, or if they're going
to actually come.
Speaker 6 (33:52):
Out with like you know, and they're big.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
On the joggers and stuff like that, on the rebox
stuff with Bryson.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
Yeah, I mean it was the last time you heard Rebak,
I know.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
Yeah, and he was you know, he had it all
over for the match, and I'm curious to see where
that goes.
Speaker 6 (34:08):
I watched, I.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
Watched a little bit of you know, as as much
as I really want to watch it, there's things they're
just hard to watch.
Speaker 6 (34:15):
They are, to be honest, I didn't watch one second
of it.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Well yeah, and plus Bryson and Brooks played like complete ass.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
I mean, so it wasn't really fun. It was.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
I think they expect like all this trash talking.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
But no, that's.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
Scotty's game or Rory really you know.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
Yeah, I did watch like some of the shop I shot, like,
there was obviously coverage online, like I watched it. Were
trying to compare like put Rory on a pedestal versepriceon
with you know, how more accurate he is and everything else.
So I saw a little bit of that, but live,
I didn't watch any of it. I think it was
just poor timing tune holidays and stuffy or with family
and visiting and celebrating. It's like we don't want to
(34:55):
you know, it's as great of a card as it was, it.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
I don't know it. How's the buzz of with the
TGL down there, Danielle, I mean, yeah, it's.
Speaker 5 (35:03):
Actually funny because we were at a New Year's party
and people were like talking about it, you know, so
you know when you get to a get together, people
are kind of subtly talking about it.
Speaker 6 (35:12):
Actually, Popstroke just open too.
Speaker 5 (35:13):
We had one import Saint Lucy, and now there's one
right next to the airport in near PBI. So there's
actually that's tonight. The second there's a VIP party tonight
we got invited to. I don't know if I'm going
to make it out or not for that, but those
pop Strokes supposedly are pretty fun. I don't know ye
into one yet, but Tires one of the investors in it,
and it's like a it's a mini golf course on steroids.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
Yeah, but is it it's mostly it's putting right.
Speaker 6 (35:40):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, mini golf.
Speaker 5 (35:43):
But it's supposedly cool. So but I think this one
has like might have some sims or something like that.
I'm not sure exactly, but yeah, so that's like that's
some people are excited for that because it's right next
to a uh was it like a line drive or whatever?
Like the uh it's not top golf is a different version,
but now they're right there next to the airport. So
there's talks of that right now, as well as the TGL.
(36:06):
So it's not like people are overly excited, but there's
definitely some some buzz.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
Well, the TGL starts next week, right seven.
Speaker 6 (36:15):
Yeah, that one quick. The place is sweet though. I
think we talked about it a little bit.
Speaker 5 (36:19):
I went over there, and you know the fact that
they had like a you know, they're growing grass outside
of the dome and everything else, like that was awesome.
Speaker 6 (36:27):
They put new grass down like you're hitting off of
turf wherever you hit real grass.
Speaker 5 (36:32):
Yeah, yep, when you're hitting like your your your T
shirts and iron stuff, yeah, that's off of grass. But
then what it does is you hit the shot and
it's up on the screen. And then wherever your ball
lands on the putting green, a light comes.
Speaker 6 (36:48):
Down on the valangulation.
Speaker 5 (36:50):
If they can, they rotate it and do whatever for
each green, but the light will shine down where your
ball landed, and then you walk up, you place your
ball down on that spot the mark, and then you
put from there and then they have like the bunk
like the green say bunkers there. But like Moos was saying,
like it rotates around. According to like which hole you're playing,
So it's pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
And there's sand from Augusta, the same sand as as
Augusta that.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Comes from the state of North Carolina, like western North Carolina.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
They get that.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Yeah, I'm interested to see it.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (37:22):
They have like suites there too, Like it's almost like
like a like a hockey arena or basketball arena, if
you will, and like they have like you know, you
can go around the outside and you know, probably buy
a sixteen dollars beer if you want, or a dollar
pet pretzel you know.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
Yeah, so much much like the match, like will be
will we be watching week three? Because if these guys
don't show any kind of personality and it's just hitting
balls into a screen, yeah, I'm I'm out.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
They're all miked up.
Speaker 5 (37:51):
They're all miked up, and there's I can't remember the
name of the it's it's not like play like play commentary,
but essentially it's one personality and he'll talk to him,
so he'll be like Harry, like, what.
Speaker 6 (38:02):
Do you think movies is going to hit here?
Speaker 5 (38:04):
You know, what do you think he's going to do?
So they're going to try to pull out the banter
or trash talk.
Speaker 6 (38:08):
In that aspect.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
I know who that is. I'm drawing on ESPN, and
I don't wonder if it's is it's Scott van Pelt. No,
it's just knows he knows golf.
Speaker 6 (38:18):
No, it's for me. It was a forgettable name.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Don't say it's Greeny please.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
No, it's not read job.
Speaker 6 (38:25):
No, I have to look it up again and see.
But and I think I think the ticket prices are
actually kind of kind of high.
Speaker 5 (38:31):
I think I think it was like one fifty ticket
and I'm like, wow, she watched virtual golf.
Speaker 6 (38:38):
You know.
Speaker 5 (38:38):
I know we're on Palm Beach, but I was like, eh,
I don't know if we're.
Speaker 6 (38:41):
Selling selling out tickets. And then I don't know how
much a suite would be.
Speaker 5 (38:46):
But I think just with the investors and the people
involved in it, I think we're.
Speaker 6 (38:50):
Going to see some success no matter what.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
But yeah, but these guys got to have some fun.
They can't. They can't act like they're at you know,
the Master's state.
Speaker 6 (38:58):
They have to can't be a repeat of the match,
like I said, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
No, they have to show some personality. But I don't
I don't think it's I don't think it's in a
lot of them, right, so now we'll see, we'll see where.
Speaker 5 (39:08):
And I think they're I think there's teams of was
it four or five and only two play one A
or something. So, but you got to think these guys
are flying in to play two three hours golf and.
Speaker 6 (39:22):
So like is that a benefit or is that just
a pain in the But yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
You know they're all going to be flying private anyway.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
True.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
Yeah, I mean they're not flying commercial.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
I don't feel sorry for them one one iota.
Speaker 5 (39:35):
I feel sorry for them, But I'm just saying like
they're interest in it, like okay to play two hours
of golf and then like am I going to be
like hey like trash chalking it? You know, It's just
it's interesting to see how it'll play out. I didn't
realize I was starting the.
Speaker 6 (39:48):
Seventh though, That's why.
Speaker 5 (39:49):
Yeah, even you've been doing such heavy testing around here though,
like I think Be probably played like at minimum like
ten test rounds and keep really he played with Worry
the other day and he had them like miked up
and everything else, and they went through it and were
asking them questions and.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
Is it like an earbud thing like they do with.
Speaker 5 (40:08):
The Yeah, everybody has an EARPIECEA yeah, wow, yep.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
Well, speaking of flying in to play golf, we got
some real golf going on. Yeah, century sixty players, it
was sixty four. I think it rounded out to sixty
the winners from twenty twenty four. And as we talked
about the top fifty in FedEx at Kappolua, Harry, let's
talk about the course of course sponsored by the Penn
Club on second.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
Yeah, and they had place they have Kapalua on the
on the track man over there.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
I verified it.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
This was an old pineapple plantation. It's called the Plantation
Course right there in Maoi. Core and Crenshaw designed this
back in nineteen ninety one, and then they came back
just a few years ago twenty nineteen to renovate it.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
Par seventy three.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
You don't see a lot of parse seventy three's, especially
on tour. Seventy five hundred and ninety six yards measures
out to be the third longest golf course they play
on tour, behind Tory Pines South and Plintacana. And the
greens are going to be stimping about eleven plus average
green size. Giant greens eight seven and twenty two square
(41:15):
feet per green. It's a five hundred acre property, and
this place is just massive and ninety three sand bunkers,
zero water hazards.
Speaker 2 (41:25):
The only water you.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
See is the Pacific Ocean, and you see it in
basically everywhere you look. Bermuda grass all over the place.
Tiff Eagle on the greens, and they have the largest
greens on.
Speaker 2 (41:36):
Tour that they'll see all season.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
Okay, the smallest greens that they see on tours at
Pebble Beach in a couple of weeks, but these are
the biggest. The over sea there's only three par threes,
which is kind of strange, the second, the eighth, and
the eleventh, and there's four par fives five, nine.
Speaker 2 (41:52):
Fifteen, and eighteen.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
There was some great risk reward par fours on the
inward nine too. You remember Dustin Johnson a few years
ago eight team teed off on twelve par four and
almost hold out, came within.
Speaker 2 (42:05):
A foot of a what would have been a double eagle?
What what would that have been? A hole out on
a par four double?
Speaker 3 (42:12):
Has been so quiet, by the way, Yeah, right, I
think about like from when he won the Masters until now,
like you still see bryceon obviously Brooks was in the
Ryder Cup, like DJ is just I think he does.
Speaker 6 (42:24):
He's yeah, he's like, I got money in the bank.
Speaker 1 (42:27):
Yeah, And that was that Masters was in twenty twenty.
That was the year they played it in the in
the fall, right, yeah, yeah, so it's been four plus years,
you're right. Yeah, it's virtually non existent. And then they
have the uphill fourteenth hole, which is three hundred and
one yards. Guys will try to drive that, but there's
a lot of trouble. Uh you know, to the right
and to the left. You can really get in some
(42:48):
really high grass.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
If you miss it to the right.
Speaker 1 (42:51):
But there's tons of elevation change and vast beauty all around.
It's a really you know, well, we're freezing our rear
ends off this weekend. It'll be nice to watch beautiful
scenery in Hawaii and love Wash players playing.
Speaker 2 (43:03):
Love Wash and it's nighttime golf for us six to ten.
It's on.
Speaker 3 (43:06):
Yeah, and that's right, Chris Kirk wanted at one twenty
five to one. As we kind of move into seeing
the line. But how about last year, uh, most bet
golfer of the year, No shock here, Scottie Scheffler one
hundred and sixty six million dollars a wagered on him. Wow,
Rory seventy four million, Xander sixty three million. So you
(43:29):
got some value in Xander and you lost some value
at the next guy, Harry.
Speaker 1 (43:32):
Oh my Max Homer. People lost a lot of shekels
on Max Omeo. That's outside of his third place finished.
If you had him in a top five at the Masters,
you cashed ye. Other than that, he was really a
no show.
Speaker 6 (43:43):
You guys. He has Michael Greller on the bag this week. Yeah,
I saw that temporary.
Speaker 5 (43:47):
Yeah, but Jordan's like, hey, borrow my county.
Speaker 3 (43:50):
Week, right, and then Loup Vig rounds out the top
five at fifty eight point two million. But this one's interesting,
right because you have j T, who uh you see
his quote how he feels like he can have a
Scotti Scheffler type of year. He has one of them.
I think I wouldn't doubt it. I wouldn't doubt it.
Speaker 6 (44:05):
One thing I like.
Speaker 5 (44:05):
About JT is he always he has just the notes
app and he always yeah, he writes down his goals
for the year and then he checks him off and
he he posts it every year, whether he you know,
achieved that goal or not or cam Clows and he's rolling.
Speaker 6 (44:20):
Open with it. I just think it's cool to see that.
Speaker 3 (44:22):
That's very cool, very cool.
Speaker 4 (44:24):
I brought it up to my sales team here is
that right?
Speaker 2 (44:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (44:27):
Yeah, hopefully Powers will listen and he's going to try
to check watch this year. So you have that. Yeah,
But JT, you know he was playing good golf too,
Dizozo the Hero. You have Xander who won it in
twenty nineteen, who obviously is you know, the favorite here
at five point fifty. And then we have ober coming
(44:48):
off to the knee surgery. But he's he's got a
twenty T seventeen at the rs AM is six at
the Hero, so very curious to see how he does.
We talked about Xander five fifty. JT's at nine hundred.
Then Morikawa can't lay Oberg sun Jay hobblin at twenty
eight hundred and he had a broken toe, right, Is
that what he was dealing with.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
He got a broken pinky toe I think on his
right foot. And he also zipped his coach again. Oh
he fired uh Joe Mayo for a second time.
Speaker 6 (45:19):
I'm telling you, though, broken toe is no joke.
Speaker 5 (45:22):
My toe barefoot on a ten bound weight that they
was so uncomfortable and then just wearing you know, sneakers
even at the gym hurt.
Speaker 6 (45:30):
I can't imagine like playing golf on a broken toe.
Speaker 2 (45:33):
We got to get a pair of squares.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
That's what you gotta do. Bounce us right off exactly.
I actually like our guy Oka Batilla at all.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
I love him.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
He likes the palm tree.
Speaker 1 (45:43):
Plus three thousand and plus two to ten and a
top ten moose with.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
Eric Cole in a top five at nine hundred, and
how about Tom Hogy in a top ten. You can
get him at six hundred for a top ten. It's
a pretty good number. Yeah, yeah, not bad. Yeah, we'll see.
What are you liking here?
Speaker 2 (46:01):
Well? I like your Akshay. I had that written down
at plus three thousand plus two.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
To ten in the top ten, and Sam Burns is
pretty high up the board. I find that kind of interesting.
So I'm thinking somebody knows something. He said plus twenty
three hundred to win it. Actually it just went down
to twenty two hundred. I'm looking at it live.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
And he's plus uh what is he in the top ten?
Speaker 1 (46:25):
Plus one seventy five for a top ten for Sam Burns,
but I.
Speaker 2 (46:32):
Expect a big week out of JT too.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
I know there's there's really no value there, but I
wouldn't be surprised if he wins it.
Speaker 3 (46:38):
Yeah, harr What do you think about Bernard Langer?
Speaker 2 (46:42):
Oh, he's amazing.
Speaker 4 (46:43):
Do you think do you think he should be peeing
off from the t's he's playing?
Speaker 3 (46:46):
Do you think he's anchering his putter? Let's talk about
what's going on.
Speaker 1 (46:48):
I don't think he's anchoring the putter, but he shouldn't
be playing in a tournament from six thousand yards.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
That's a joke.
Speaker 4 (46:56):
Really, Charlie shouldn't be teeing off before you.
Speaker 1 (46:58):
No exactly what they got to do they have They
have to either put more tea boxes in that golf
course or find a different golf course to play this event.
Speaker 3 (47:07):
That's great, Yeah it is.
Speaker 6 (47:09):
That was so much fun to watch.
Speaker 5 (47:10):
But when it came down, I mean, obviously, I'm sure
the rest of the world, like me, was rooting for
you know, Tiger and Charlie.
Speaker 6 (47:16):
I was like, come on, and just I was like,
all right, Charlie's given Tiger the line, like this is
going to be so good.
Speaker 5 (47:22):
And then when it came down to Bernard having to
make the pot, I'm like, it's over.
Speaker 3 (47:29):
Yeah, that was it was fun. It was good to watch.
Speaker 6 (47:32):
It was fun.
Speaker 2 (47:32):
It was see.
Speaker 6 (47:33):
I watched that over the match.
Speaker 1 (47:36):
My wife loves that event. She watched I think every
every second that it was on TV.
Speaker 5 (47:40):
It's entertaining, you know, and it's humanizes a little bit.
It's like okay, like you know, father and son and just.
Speaker 2 (47:48):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:49):
Nelly and her dad who's apparently a total wacko about it,
like he's like super competitive.
Speaker 2 (47:54):
She has to calm him down.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
And like they kept on mentioning, like dad, we're trying
to have fun, like this is supposed to be funny.
Speaker 2 (47:59):
Gets so intense.
Speaker 5 (48:01):
Well, I kept I said, I said, man, if we
were playing a drinking game, and they mentioned Langer sending
and finance one more time, I'm take a shop for
every time he says finance, I'm like, I'm blacked out.
Speaker 2 (48:13):
And he went to Penn. Yeah, played at Penn.
Speaker 6 (48:16):
And he's fine.
Speaker 3 (48:17):
Exactly what he looks like in New York, Yes, exactly
what he looks like.
Speaker 1 (48:21):
I'm sure that was a tough hook up for Bernhard
to get his son on a Wall Street Firm.
Speaker 3 (48:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
Yeah, these guys play golf with CEOs on a weekly basis.
Speaker 3 (48:31):
Right, yeah, all the pro ams and everything help him.
Speaker 6 (48:34):
Get in some more business, I'm sure.
Speaker 4 (48:36):
Yeah, but it was a great twenty twenty four.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
Looking forward to twenty twenty five, looking forward to talking
about the game, getting out there more with you guys,
looking for to all the things that we do, you know,
around to the Nipa Arc alf outing some more stuff.
We're working at a working on an event at the
Penn Club coming up in later this winter. So a
lot of good stuff going on. We appreciate you guys listening, watching,
(49:00):
hanging out with us, and uh, we'll do our best
to keep Philly Philly Golf going strong.
Speaker 1 (49:05):
Well, I'm gonna try my best to not wish away
the next eight weeks. You know, I want to get
something something out of it.
Speaker 3 (49:12):
Well you away, at least you're going down, you know
at the club.
Speaker 1 (49:17):
There you go, there you go, put sunscreen on.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
Yeah, I look like Web Simpson the sunscreen all over
my face. Beautiful.
Speaker 3 (49:32):
All right. We'll be back next week in between rounds
of golf.
Speaker 4 (49:35):
And Hawaii and Hawaii and.
Speaker 3 (49:37):
Uh, we'll see who it's gonna be a long shot.
I don't think it's a long shot. I think it's
gonna be a short money this week.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
Oh yes, and the one in Dunpool is up and
running and it starts next week at the Sony.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
I'm starting it earlier than we normally do.
Speaker 3 (49:50):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (49:51):
Century will be the only event that's not in it.
So people are I sent the emails out.
Speaker 2 (49:55):
You know it's uh.
Speaker 3 (49:56):
I would suggest a recend now that people are back
in Yeah, the holidays.
Speaker 6 (50:01):
I got that email.
Speaker 5 (50:02):
Hair, I don't think I don't think I can play
because I'm in Florida.
Speaker 6 (50:05):
I think there's.
Speaker 1 (50:09):
Well no, no, it's no, it's not it's it's not restricted.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
Send Yeah, I'll send it. I'll put you on the
mailing list.
Speaker 3 (50:17):
Help money, good stuff. I'll be back next week. Thank you.
Speaker 2 (50:22):
You have but to listen, swing it and ding it.
