Speaker 2 (00:24):
You just gotta get out there and swing and ding it.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Yeah, you know, just guess it's gonna go out there
and try to swing it and ding it.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
All right, welcome in to swing it and dig it
as we continue our view of Hawaii, as we freeze
our you know what's off in Philadelphia and put the
sweater on because it's sixty four degrees.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
This morning.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
I saw that on the weather app and I was
thinking of you, Danielle. I'm like, well, that's legitimately cool moves.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
At least Harry cares about me.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Yeah, she's going to the gym, just full of winter hate.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Sorry, it was really cult this morning.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Harry mays. I have a question for you. Yes, is
Sideki Matsiyama underrated?

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yes? In this country he is right. I mean over
where he's from, you know, he's he's a rock star
and rightly so. But in this country he is, and
I think a big part of that is because he
doesn't He chooses not to speak English to the fans
in the United States. And I say he chooses not
to because he's too darn smart to not know English.

(01:29):
I know he knows it, and I know he can
speak it. He probably speaks it reasonably well. But my
theory on that is is that when these Japanese players,
whether it's baseball or golf or whatever the sport, are
successful in the United States, they have a throng of
Japanese media that follow them everywhere they go. It follows

(01:49):
them into the bathroom when he's taking a leak. I mean,
it's unbelievable. They can't get away from it. So they
have to deal with that on an everyday basis, and
I think that he is exhausting. So now what he
does is he puts up the I have a translator
deal and a lot of the United States English speaking
media doesn't want to deal with that, so it it

(02:10):
sort of protects him from having to do additional media.
That's my theory on it. But I think he's fantastic.
I loved watching him. I couldn't take my eyes off
every shot on Saturday Sunday, he's magnificent.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
I don't know. I don't know if another player in
the game that when they are on and locked in
that you're done. Like think about him in the Master's
like when he has his game and it has this
putter too yep, right, because he has a ball striking machine,
but when he is putting, I mean has no shot,
and this guy is on and wants to win. He
breaks the PGA to a record at thirty five under

(02:47):
I mean, you look at some of these guys, like,
you know, even Sunjay, but obviously Colin Workua, like where
they finished in losing that tournament, Danielle, It's like, what
do we have to do?

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Right?

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Twelfth play, twelfth player to complete the Hawaii career double.
He won both the century and Sony, So I thought
that was pretty cool too when you were asking, you know,
if he's underrated, just kind of gives you a little
bit more there. But I don't know, like with them
going so low, did you guys lose any interest at all?
Like I was watching it, I'm like, okay, somebody's gonna
want out, like thirty Like I wasn't super drawn in

(03:19):
this week.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
I really didn't because that's what this tournament is. I mean,
you know cam Smith wanted at thirty four under.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
A few everyone keeps setting a record there.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah, I mean it's really low. But the thing, it
was sort of like a match play thing to me.
I was just watching those two guys. Poor Dtree was
just in the way. You know, he's playing in that
group because they've been off in threesomes. He was out
of it after the first three orsels. Yeah, and but
for him, yeah, because he knows. I'm like, I'm in
the way here, Like I know, I got to kind
of put out and get the hell out of here.

(03:49):
But it was magnificent, like you said, waiting for a
mistake though, Harry, and the mistake just didn't come. Yeah.
And then he takes his hand off the club every
time and you're thinking, oh, here, here's go. It's going
to go left, and it does it. It's perfect.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
It's so funny. So many players do that, you know.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
I'm especially like I've learned to I've learned Brandon's kind
of like finishes and sometimes I'm like like a lot
of the guys that will be like this and you're like,
oh my god, he hit it.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Ob and you're like, what it's like left fairway?

Speaker 1 (04:16):
What face? And they know it, like they know like
I mishit that. Yeah, I about three hundred and ten
yards and it's in.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
The fairway Saturday Saturday, he goes eleven under with eleven birdies.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Yeah, I mean, sounds like one of my round.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
And he just he just looks so in control. He
looks so calm, right, He doesn't show much. He doesn't
give you much. He must be a nightmare to play against,
especially when you're like locked in and it feels like
a match play scenario. You must be like, this guy's
not giving me anything, he's not breaking and.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
He actually doesn't speak English too, Like how do you
even make conversations?

Speaker 2 (04:53):
You know what I mean? So like you're there and
you're like great, but like what do you even say
to it?

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Well, that's an the thing like you're thinking when I'm
playing with this guy, but I can't even talk to
him because he's got he needs a translator to talk
to the media. So that's another way to shut everybody
out and just sort of just stay in his zone.
It's brilliant.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
I think, I like we need to research this.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
I want I want to olif Harry's like right, like
if he actually is just like the stupid American.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Rolling all of us.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Well, in the interview, I did notice that he was
asked the question and before the translator translated it, he's
saying to the translator what he wants to say. He
understands it.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Yeah, how about some jay shot nineteen under on the weekend.
That's usually enough to win a golf tournament. He did
that in two days and didn't win.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Yeah, yeah, you had sun Jay at twenty nine. He had,
and he had Vegas and fourth to twenty five, Dtree,
and and Oberg at T five at twenty four, and
then Corey Connors and I cashed in on that on
that HOGI T eight. I had him a top ten
if you remember, Yeah, that's six hundred. So that got
off to a great start and hung in there.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Man has a nice win.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Like just watching his swing like that, I think that
was my main focus this whole week, just how upright
he stands.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
I'm just like, he's so tall and that swing is
just so different, you know.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
What I mean.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Oh yeah, he doesn't waste much motion at all. It's
very very.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
He's so tall and he stands straight up. So the
swing is just it's just different. I mean it's butter
it's so smooth, but it's just it just looks different.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Well, what I like about him is he takes no
time over the ball. He just gets up there and
hits it. Like I wish more guys were like that.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
That's why he was good in the TJL. We'll talk
about that a little bit too. But it's almost like
watching that tournament, it looks fake sometimes it's so scenic
and like, so you're watching, you're like, is that real? Like,
how's that? I mean, I would love to see it,
I know, I know. Actually Greeny played that on his honeymoon.
Oh yeah, of course. But I mean it looks but
it looks like a serious walk for those guys. The

(06:56):
different elevations that they were showing, like it's they say,
it's a different climate on some the holes than the others,
Like different wind directions and temperatures and insane, insane piece
of property.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
There's over five hundred feet of elevation change. Wow on
that course. Now that compared to this week where there's
like five feet you know, it's flat, totally flat this weekend.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Yeah, I was gonna say what I was thinking about
because I was at this upcoming gourse.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
I'm like, there wasn't anything.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
You know, you get a little bit of a different
breeze when you're on the ocean holes.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
But yeah, yeah, but good stuff for Hideki. It's awesome
to see that. And now they're talking about maybe making
some changes, maybe changing a part five. I mean, yeah, yeah,
you know. I like it because it's like, Okay, that's
that's the goal. Can you go lower there? Right? It's
not like that course is too easy. It's like, now,
let's see you can you go? Can you beat it? Right?

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Like?

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Yeah, how low can you go?

Speaker 1 (07:49):
I wouldn't want to see them playing courses like this
every weekend, but yeah, you know, but once to start
off the season, it's fine. The thing I don't like
about it is that so many of the holes look alike,
you know, and so to play the same way where
there's a collection area on the fairway where all the
balls seem to go to and you gotta skirt the
divots like that. That's kind of one of the best

(08:10):
things I have about it.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Yeah, yeah, I could see that. I can see that
for sure. All right, So the other golf that we
got to watch, which to me was an incredibly pleasant surprise.
The TGL kicks off, and I don't I don't know
what to think, right. I went into it like it's
a Tuesday in January. Let's give this a watch. It's
an ESPN production. We talked about his snp SP gonna

(08:34):
be able. He was, He wasn't on site. Matt Barry was.
And I gotta tell you, I enjoyed it now. I
don't know if I'm gonna want to watch it all
the time, but I was incredibly impressed at what they
pulled off. I mean, first and foremost, the tech and
and and what's involved with this place is there's nothing
else like it in the world. I think it's gonna
put a lot of people on notice. I think people

(08:55):
are probably thinking, like where else can we put these things?
And just see the level of commitment that went into it,
the stepbacks they had, and to actually pull it off
into something different, right, it was something completely different, and
the guys looked like they were into it. They were
rushing with the shot clock, the crowd was. I think

(09:15):
it'd be very cool to see it in person. I
was really I was. I don't. Yeah, some of the
such a little weird, but I was impressed. I really was.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
I thought it was cool too.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
I mean hadn't been had been there previously, Like I said,
like you saw them hitting from from grass they grow
the grass outside, Like they did it right, they did
it correct, like Moose said, Am I going to be
interested in four or five, six weeks, we'll see. Maybe
that's why Tiger and Rory didn't play. They're going to
hold some of those players for later on. But I
think debuting on the first night a little bit past

(09:47):
my bedtime and did in stand for the whole thing.
But seeing a couple of the shots, having Tiger up
in the boosting recap on social to feedback, it looks
like it.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Was, you know, pretty good feedback overall.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
The only negative thing people were talking that it took
fifteen minutes to see the first shot.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
They were like less pre game.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
But it's it's opening night when you're just kind of
like turn it on and be like boom.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Let's go. You need a little bit They.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Had to explain what was about to happen.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
First, Did you see like undulation in the greens, like
that was plates underneath it? That was really like that's
wild and just seeing like when they're hitting their their shots,
see the turf come up, you know what I mean.
It's not like you're just in your you're going to
a local place where you're just hitting sim shots.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Like it's actually like you know, elevated giant.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
Seeing them take full swings into that giant screen, it's
really cool. And I like how it was like made
up holes, right, you're not that I did for them.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
That's my good question I had for you guys, whether
you like the tricked up sort of fantasy kind of
golf course versus like them playing maybe congressional or someplace
that we could have gone either way.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
I think I liked, but I.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Like it adds intrigue, right because like on that one whole,
I was watching like what the heck.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Is this bunker?

Speaker 3 (10:57):
Like you know, and then you can unlike you know,
b had already played because he did some testing there
and I was like, okay, I was like, do you
go right? Do you go let like straight here? And
you know, almost everybody he's like, all they'll probably go right.
Some people went straight. But I think it's cool having
you know, different holes because it's it's gonna it's gonna
hold your attention a little bit longer rather than watching them,

(11:18):
you know, like you said, play at the same course
that we've already.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Seen on tour.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
I'll tell you what I think. ESPN figured out the
mic situation way better than TNT has for the match, right,
I mean in CNT it's a mess. You you're trying
to hear like banter, and you hear a lot of
people talking over each other. They did an incredible job
of raising and lowering mics. Especially it's a little higher though, yeah,
I mean well, and plus you're dealing with an arena,

(11:42):
the arena of noise Channel.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
But the three on three part was awesome, the alternate shot,
because you don't see anything like that. I thought that
was really cool to see those guys like strategized. They're
going through the computer screen and seeing where they've got
to go.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
But the thing that.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
They have ball boys, that the ball that you hit
from the turf you can't hit, you know, you don't
put with because there has to be different technology for it.
So you can put with your actual like sponsor ball,
but when you're hitting, you know, on the sim you
can't use that same ball, So like there's you know,
I was like, what is there?

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Boys like Kramer and Seinfeld at the US Open tennis? Right,
But the thing that like ESPN didn't have to deal with,
the TNT has to deal with those guys are always
in carts zipping to the next shot and that makes
noise and they're kind of distracted, you know, the winds
blowing or whatever. But I thought ESPN did a really

(12:35):
nice job. I wished Van Pelt was there, like, and
I knew he wasn't going to be there because he
was on in the morning on Gary Williams's new show,
and he was in d C, which is where he
does his nightly ESPN show. But then I found out
he had never been there, Right, the guy leading your
podcast has never been.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
That's get him there hitting some shots, right, yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Knowing that technology, seeing face understanding Like.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
But Harry DJ Khaled was there though, Yeah, one, you're
happy about that. God like watching Tiger like he just
looks so proud, like he just like he was beaming.
He was like like like I can't believe, like this
this weird concept actually came true and like it's happening

(13:25):
right to wait a year yeah, yeah, like I said,
the setbacks they had, Yeah, it was cool. I mean,
lud Veg is a stud.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
I mean did he miss a putt last night?

Speaker 1 (13:37):
I know, I mean he was he was. He was
the star of the night for sure.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Yeah, Caie too, because like that's what I would like live.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
But like seeing like high five, seeing Xander get like annoyed,
like just watching you know, the other teams against each other,
and then the cammaraderie between like the teams, you know.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
Live like they're on teams, but they're playing all different holes.
They're not anywhere near each other, right, They're all playing Yeah,
yeah this these guys are hanging around and messing with
each other. And I was I think Tiger said it.
He's like, I'm not giving anybody butts. How can you
you don't know? These people don't know these surfaces. You
can easily miss a two foot or on these on
these weird surfaces. They never put it on before. So
it's interesting to see some of that stuff.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
Wait, I do have to what Ricky did he decide
to stop cutting his hair and he had a lot.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
I kind of liked the look he had a look
that was like it was is a TGL. Look, yeah,
it's a TGL. Look yeah. Yeah, but it would have
been nice if Team New York would have shown up.
I mean, this is like typical New York football here.
Those guys played. That was a beatdown. That's one thing
that kind of made me lose interest is it wasn't

(14:45):
it wasn't competitive.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
I sent out a tweet that said that they were
gonna let Saquon test free agency, the New York team, Right.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
That's what I pulled up to Twitter. I got to
commend you, Moose because you were on fire last night.
Uh he says here, I don't feel comfortable watching Ludwig
while my wife is at home. That was hilarious. Actually,
I'm not that to look at, quoting Trevor Immlman who
said Oberg is a mixture of Bjorn Borg and Roger Federer.

(15:15):
And let's see, here's another one word is New York
City Golf Club is going to let Saquon test free agency.
That was pretty good.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
Thank you, thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm glad
you enjoyed it. That's why we do it. So, yeah,
it was there. What's the buzz down there in Jupiter
in the in the area.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Danielle Well, I went on like just my stories on incident.
I was going through them and I was like, wow,
I was like like six or seven my friends went
and they purchased tickets, like bought tickets. And when it
looked like Opening night, you know what I mean. I
saw a bunch of my friends were there. You know,
I saw Chris Como was there obviously with Xander and stuff.

(15:57):
But uh yeah, it looked like pretty good at ten
And haven't talked to anybody in person, obviously.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
Think about it. You could sit in your seat and
see the best players in the world take every shot.
Right if you go to a event, you have to
either walk with them or you're stationed up on the
green and you're watching approach outs and putts. You're sitting
in your seat and you're watching these guys hit every
shot on the course. It's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
And I'm telling you, there's not a bad seat in
the house.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
You know, they have like down like where the benches
are behind there's some suits, but like the way the
arena is shaped and tiered, like it's not like, you know,
you can't see what's going on, and the screens are
large enough that even if there was, you know, a
seven foot guy in front of you can still see
around him and see what's going on.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Now, Who was the guy sitting with Rory and Tiger.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
He's the money guy. I think he's. I think he's
the third guy of the team. Yeah, I forget they
did say his name, but.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
They did, okay because I missed it.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
I think it was Tiger, Rory and him, but they
only mentioned Tiger and Rory obviously. But yeah, I think
he was the Yeah. I don't know what he owns,
what else he owns, but I think he's he's also
a finance finance.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
But one thing I thought would have been a little
cooler because.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
You know, they were all wearing their own yeahs and
everything else like that. They were all wearing like the
light green and then like Dandersteen was wearing like the Navy.
But I was like, wait, where's like, you know, the
the Jupiter, like yeah, because I remember Charlie wearing it
and the you know, the PNC, and you know they
do have some I mean, I know Jupiter's logo looks

(17:28):
like in the Boston when I don't know what some
of the others look like. But I kind of wanted
to see that happening, But I guess when you have
sponsor obligations, what are you gonna do.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
That's another thing Moose pointed out on the on the
twitter feed, is like they kind of missed an opportunity
right to promote the merch.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
Yeah, yeah, that is tough.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
I mean maybe even couldn't you put that logo, Yeah,
logos on your back or something hitches put on the
back of you know what I mean. You can still
wear your other stuff, but just throw it on your back. Yeah,
they probably have to say go that out because there's
got a Definitely there's definitely some you know, some elements
or these guys.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Are just saying, no, you gotta pay anymore.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Because you know what, I mean, what do they get
paid for this?

Speaker 2 (18:12):
I was wondering, not sure, Yeah, I was.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
I was like, well, we were watching last night. I'm like,
what do they get paid? Like if the team wins,
do they get paid in an appearance fee?

Speaker 2 (18:21):
I'm not sure?

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 4 (18:26):
Fans carrying it.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
So, Yeah, a bunch of those guys in from Hawaii,
you know, the day before it a long. That's a lot,
you know, kind of exhausting. That's probably why Shawfley had nothing.
He had nothing last night.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
No, he was there to hang out. He looked like
he wanted to describe it like.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
He was drinking. I think he might have been drinking,
you know.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
But in wait, what do you guys think about the hammer?
Did we like the hammer? Do we not like the hammer?

Speaker 4 (18:51):
They didn't explain it that well, they didn't get.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Eplain it, but so okay, So yeah, throwing the hammer
makes the suppose yours of books is like put pressure
on the opposite team, Sophie, it is.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
It makes the whole worth two points rather than one.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
So if I think Harry's gonna miss a six footer,
I'm gonna throw the hammer so that my team Michael
up one, you know. And that's what they did when
Ludwig made that putt. They threw the hammer down and
he drained it and was like, you know, and JT.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Was tweeting in something about the hammer, and they threw
it up on the screen. Yeah. I thought Matt Barry
did a nice job.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
He did. He did, And you know, it's funny they
were There were a lot of tweets and posts about
like there weren't showing the stats. Uh and then all
of a sudden they started showing them, but it was
it was moving so quick it was hard. Like they
would they would put a banner at the bottom that
would have like spin rate and distance and everything, but
they weren't really showing it in real time as the
ball was fine. It would have been cool to see

(19:47):
that like where how far it went? Like, But then
they did start doing it. I think they maybe they
realized they weren't showing it, but were pulling this off.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
Oh yeah, in the ground too, like well there was
like you know, the hands of like the basic like
Xander Shoffley, but then like the the fake shot clock
of people.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Like yeah five.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Yeah, And then what was the other oh, like just
doing the players for like laying up and stuff like that.
Like I thought that was pretty funny, Like if a
player laid up, they.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Were like wooh, you know what I mean, like, yeah,
still hackling. You know.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
I think it's that the dad that drank one too
many million, you know, fifteen dollars millar lights.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
I missed this because my buddies texted me this heartbeat
thing and I fell asleep and woke up the next time,
like what do you mean the heart beats fifteen seconds left,
they start giving the player's heart rate.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
It's no, we hear it, you hear it in the arena.
Boom boom. They showed their actual heart rate or no, no, no, no.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
That'd be much cooler.

Speaker 4 (20:47):
The clock starts at thirty five, it's it's white, thirty five,
thirty four, and then it gets fifteen. It starts blinking
red and making the boom boom, boom boom.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
It was their actual like BB that would be like
really cool if they like get oop to somehow like
do that.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
But if it's just like a general one.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
Yeah, well all right, tg L, I see you. You
know you're you'd launch something pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Tigers yeah week, Yeah, he's next week. Yeah yeah.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
There's four guys on the roster. I wonder how they
figure out, like who's out.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Well, I guess I heard that being asked of one
of the guys on the Bay Area team, and of
course it was min Wu who was out. And apparently
min Wu had a previous obligation so he couldn't be
there kind of thing, and that's sort of you know,
it wasn't no disrespect to him, Like you're not playing
very well right now, we're gonna bench. It hasn't had
nothing to do with that.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
Yeah, who's available?

Speaker 2 (21:40):
Yeah, yeah, that's what they said.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
They literally said, like in case there's like travel issues
or whatever, like they always want to try to get
you know, four there if possible. I think is it
five and then four off to come or something like
that and three play something along those lines.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
I think it's I think the teams are four and
then three four Yeah, ok yeah, because I'm picking Team
Los Angeles. Yeah, okay, I had to figure out Team
well and see I knew you would do that because
you are from Jupiter, so you have a from Jupiter. No,
just Jupiter is way cooler than Philadelphia. All right, Philadelphia blows. Okay,

(22:21):
I'd move out of here in five minutes if I
had the opportunity. Well, what you're waiting for?

Speaker 2 (22:29):
So I got you got who.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
A company has to sell one more time and then
I can go. Okay, Team La Rosie Lay Fleetwood, Mori, Kawa,
and Tigala. I like all four of those guys.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Yeah, you were going to go Boston, but then you
realize that.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Rory, because I love Keegan and I team I just
don't I don't care about Philadelphia. I don't care about
any of those allegiances. None. I'm not on sports radio anymore. Wow. Okay,
all this.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
Pens up years of aggression from Billy sports.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
That's right, that's coming out.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Let's go moving vans in the driveway.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
I might stay with the Bay I might take the
front Runners. I might have my boy Ludwig.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
Yeah right, I can see.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
All right, we're all affiliated.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
Now, Lowry's on there.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
Yeah, producer Boston, that's fine.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
How about Lowry forgetting to put it to the tea you're.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
So nervous, Yeah, yeah, so great. All right, let's take
a quick break and we'll be right back to see if
Daniel has any more tea to spill, and we'll take
a look at the Sony open. We'll be right back.
All right, welcome back to swing It and ding It.
Let's continue with some tea down to the Jupiter. Speaking

(23:54):
of the Jupiter links, the Jupiter area, what's what's the
tea coming out of that area?

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Maybe not so much of this area.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
We can go to the other side of the state,
Pampa Ish area, where Nellie Cord lives. She was on
the Five Clubs episode, which is Gary Williams's new show
on Golf Channel debuted this week.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Yeah, I was actually impressed.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
We were kind of talking about Golf Channel last week
and I was like, oh, we'll see, but I really
enjoyed it.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
But she was oh, yeah, yeah for sure.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
But Nelly was on the Five Clubs episode she talked
about they asked her about technology, and she's like, all right,
I got a quad, I got a track, man, I
got all the technology.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
She's like, but it kind of lives in the garage.
It's just you know, on display. She's like, No, She's like,
I learned the game playing feel, you know.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
She's like, it's just how I play, Like, I'm all
about feel and so to get so, you know, caught
up in the technology and paying attention to all these numbers,
it takes away from how I learned the game, how
I know how to play, and it.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Takes away my feels.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
So I thought that was kind of interesting to point
out maybe some of our listeners can relate with that,
Like it's so easy to get caught up and all
that tech and be like, Okay, how far am I
doing this?

Speaker 2 (25:03):
You know, what's this? That? The other thing? It's like
just kind of you know, stick to your feels. So
I thought that was kind of cool.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
That was my spin rate is off. It's like, dude,
you couldn't hit a fair way if your life depended
on it. And you're worried about your smash factor that
shot you just hit a house.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Yeah exactly.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
Let's let's let's worry about this.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
I love that answer. That was a good interview and
I that stood out to me too, Danielle.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
Yeah, I thought I thought that was pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Great, she really is. She's great. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
And for the number one, you know, woman player to
be saying that, like, you know, it takes some notes.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
Let's not get so caught up.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
So this morning, players, caddies, and officials met on the
beach for a celebration of life for Grayson Murray near
Whole sixteen at Wilet. They were throwing some flowers into
the ocean, a moment of silence and a celebration. So
that was a nice little moment, keeping his legacy alive
and you know, kind of paying homage to his family

(26:08):
and things of that nature. So I thought that was
kind of nice. Saw that circulating around social Tom mckibbon
was targeted by Live golf reports of surface that the
twenty two year old Northern Irish golfer.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
He's a twenty two year old Northern Irish golfer, Tom mckibbon.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
He's a protege of Rory, which Harry loves, but he
was approached by John Rahm to join Live shortly after
just carrying his PGA Tour cards. So he shares his
home club with Rory and he's rumored to be a
prime candidate for Rom's legion team.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
So we shall see.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
What's going on in that. Actually feel a little bit
out of the loop with Live. I don't know, maybe
you guys can provide a little more context, Like I
know they did like their Q school and everything else.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
But then I saw on the range Goats came out.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
Yeah, I saw their schedule dropped and I saw Rangecoats
had like is Bubba.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
Out or did they? Because who was it that just
joined the range Goats team?

Speaker 1 (27:06):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
Yeah, I probably should have looked that up before I
saw it on socially say, but I couldn't remember.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
But yeah, I think there's some changes going on there
in restructure. So we'll see what's going on with those teams.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
Yeah, not too much other t that I have. Really,
that's kind of just a short synopsis of this week.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
Well, did you see where Trevor Immelman is now the
chairman of the official World Golf Rankings? I didn't see
that in addition to those duties with CBS. Well, so
he's going to be taken over and apparently there's going
to be some changes that are he's going to enact
to sort of make because the World Golf Rankings are
out of whack. I mean, there's they're they're they're not

(27:48):
correct or they're not even near correct, especially with the
whole lived defection thing, and you know the fact that
they only give certain amount of points for some of
these tournaments. I think it's going to be he's going
to do a job to try to balance it out
a little bit and make it more equitable.

Speaker 5 (28:02):
So what would you like to see though, hair like,
like do you think the point should be determined after
we see who's in the field or do you think
it is something that can be predetermined, Like how do
you actually make it really fair?

Speaker 1 (28:16):
I don't know, I'm not that smart. You know, that's
why they get put Trevor Immelman in there. They didn't
ask me, but no. But all I can tell you
is when I look at these world golf rankings and
I look at a guy that hasn't even won, you know,
a major yet, and he's ranked in the top six
or something in the world, I'm like, you're crazy.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
Yeah, there's no way, because I know some of those
like off week tournaments, like when there's an elevated one
they have those tournaments.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
I'm like, you know, Puerto Rico.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
Or those guys don't get anything.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
Really, they get like, yeah, minimal points, so it's like,
you know, you're still winning, and it's like right, you're
you're trying to do work to get ahead, and it's like,
it's just interesting. I didn't see that, but I'm interested
to see how that does get rearranged and what that
new point struck sure would look like, I almost feel
like it should be after you see the field and
then determine how many of the you.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
Know, top ranked players ranks.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
And then how much weight that respective tournament should hold.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
But you know, they didn't ask me either.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
They didn't ask me, but you know, there was no
word on whether Live will start getting world ranking points,
And I know that's what everybody wants to know.

Speaker 4 (29:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
I mean but with the team golf, like yeah, you
can't like three rounds.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Nah, And then like yeah, I don't see that. I
think they you know, still like go and play the
other events like a lot of them do to try
to you know, have enough points to play in the
majors over here.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
It's like, you know, you made that decision, no way
because like you know, if the Ryder Cup, if you're
if you're depending on the President's Cup. You know, you
can't tell me that Bryceon de Shambo shouldn't have been
on the team, right, So there needs to be a
way to figure that.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
But he could have been a captain'spect though.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Yeah, apparently he's going to be.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
On this thing that came down to politics. Actually, I
don't think he came down to a world golf ranking.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
You know, I think apparently do you think he shouldn't
have been higher in the world rankings than Brian Harmon?
Like there needs to be common yeah, but you know what.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
There also has to be accountability. You decided to leave
and you know this tour, so now you go and
play live that's only three rounds and it's.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
A team golf, Like you gotta you know what I
mean you just had to leave.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
There's got to be a scale though, right, it's not
PGA Tour rankings, it's world golf rankings, right, So to me,
there should be a scale, right, it should be all right,
but your point, your PM.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
Though you get points, like the European Tour gets points.
It's not just PGA Tour repords.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
I should live.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
But no, because it's only three rounds, no cut, and
it's team golf and it's team.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
You're still but scale it, right if if if a
full tour you would get five hundred points, then maybe
if you win this you get two hundred and fift points.
But at least you're getting points showing something. Yeah, yeah,
for your performance.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
That's a possibility.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Yeah, I think it has to be definitely.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
I mean, if there is a scale, have to be
a small portion because it is only three rounds, it
is primarily team.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
Golf, and it's not you know, but even then.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
You still Brian Harmon could still rank higher than Bryce
and d Chambeau.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
She was only playing those you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (31:15):
Like, I think it's going to be tough if these
guys aren't playing the full golf as it should be
played with four rounds, you know, cut after two rounds.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Yeah, I mean right now, since you brought it up,
you know, whereas where's Deshambo's tenth and where is the
next guy? Tyrroll Hatton I think would be the next
player on live and he's currently sixteenth and it's still
pretty high rankings it is, but they're going down. I mean,

(31:48):
John Rahm is twenty sixth. He used to be third, right,
it used to be number one actually right now he's
twenty six Yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
But then also like it's tough because then those guys
have the amount of tournaments that they're auto in and
the rest of the tourist to like qualify it.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
Yeah, good luck Trevor.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Brian Harmon's thirtieth and he stinks right now.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
Yeah, so see, I think I still saw him on
the Ryder Cup list, did you?

Speaker 1 (32:18):
Yeah? Come on, he was like over par after two
or three days at Kapalua. I got it thirty under
bar Come on, bro geez.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
How about the To me, the biggest story is the
potential PGA Tour playoffs change.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
Yes, so for the sport championship.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
The tour champion they're talking about like this year potentially
and that's that tournament needs a shot.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
In me on too.

Speaker 4 (32:49):
It does. It's boring, it certainly does.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
So what are their proposed changes?

Speaker 1 (32:53):
Bracket styles go against each other and stroke play or
match play. They they still haven't figured that out yet.

Speaker 4 (33:00):
But and the way that they would reward the guys
who were hires, they would get a buye.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
Right.

Speaker 4 (33:04):
I love that, right, I love that.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
I used to love amateur golf like watch like the
you know, the the USA, and like what like stroke play,
that's one of my favorite formats of golf.

Speaker 4 (33:13):
I heard mostly players likes for it. But then you
hear like Justin Rose who was like not really for
It's like we don't play that format all year, and
then you're going to get to the end and you're
going to change the format you're playing. It's like, well,
I mean a lot of sports, yeah yeah, well not really,
some switch change a little bit.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
But actually that's a great point, like see, but that's
the thing, like we're not those players, so the players
are gonna have different thoughts as for us. The viewer
just wants to be entertained, and I'm like, yeah, match play,
like that's awesome, Like let me see, let.

Speaker 4 (33:42):
Me see that's why they need to go back to
having two trophies like they had in the past. Right,
there was a.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Winner and the Yeah yeah, but I like that match
play tournament they'd play in Texas in Austin, that Dell.
That was awesome and.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
I think it, you know, and it's a different style
of golf, so it's like a new you know player
in that you know, realm, you know, somebody who has
ice in their veins and can just go and be like, Okay,
it's me versus you, Like, let's go some some guys
thrive on that style of golf rather than just like
the traditional like style of golf.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
So yeah, but they can. They're also talking about making
its stroke play because like let's say some guy wins
ten and nine or ten and eight or whatever, Well
that turned that match is over in a lot less time.
At least this would would give eighteen holes and it's
a stroke play just me against Moose or Moose against Dan,
you know what I mean, Like I could see that too.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Stroke Yeah, it's interesting. I'm going to stay on top of.

Speaker 4 (34:40):
Them, especially because they're saying possibly this year, right they like,
which is wild, Yes.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
Not even like giving like that, you know, given the
guys like a moment to like figure out what's going on.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
But I guess with everything that's going on in the
world of golf looking.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
At why not literally, it's not like we never have
anything to talk about, you know, like even the off
season there's off going on, but.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
We have about when we started this podcast. We started
the podcast, it was PGA tour events. You know, you're
talking about who's.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
Playing Corberry like that was like, well, I was able
to like talk about Cornberry because I was it. It
was like, you know, we had like the farm leagues
leading up to the tour and now.

Speaker 4 (35:15):
It's now we got people sitting in the sixty foot screens,
we got range goats, we got all kinds of stuff
going on. Oh my goodness, it's crazy out there is.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
But yeah, instead of instead of giving Scotty like ten
under par to start with, you get to buy you know,
or two buys, so we still get the reward for
getting getting there. I like that.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
Yeah, And you know what, at the end of the day,
you're never going to make everybody happy, No, just.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
Make me happy.

Speaker 4 (35:43):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Well I'd be happy if I were
looking at those beautiful palm trees behind you, Harry and
Hawaii this week, I'll tell you that much, because I
mean you go from one beautiful golf course to the next.
And for the Sony Open, the first full event of
twenty twenty five, one hundred and forty four places, he
got two in the top ten with Hideki going right
back at it and Tom Kim. Hideki won here in

(36:06):
twenty twenty two, by the way episode and there was
a tribute for for Grayson Murray that there was a
I was happy. There wasn't too much posted about it,
just a little bit just showed it happened. But it
seemed like a very you know, private event for the
players and the families. So sure there's gonna be a
lot of emotions going on this week and we're gonna

(36:27):
see a lot of that in the broadcast for sure.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
Yeah, no doubt about it. Remember when HITDECKI blistered that
three wood on eighteen and into the green and ended
up winning the tournament. Right into the sun. But wile
A Country Club nineteen twenty seven seth Rayner design one
of the classic one of the grandfathers of golf court
course architecture. Par seventy seven yards. They flipped the nines

(36:53):
for this tournament compared to you know what the members played,
just so they can finish along the ocean. You can
have you know, the you behind me on the sixteenth hole.
It's instead of the seventh hole. So it's a smart,
smart idea. But man, you get a Barritz green here.
You get a Redan green that you know in the
par threes with classic design notes from seth Rainer only,

(37:16):
whether it's four par threes four to seven, eleven and seventeen,
two par fives, nine and eighteen. It's at sea level,
so it's super flat, small greens, some smaller greens than
last week, narrow fairways and dog legs. It's a total
reversal of what the players faced last week. A great
finish with the Redan green par three seventeen and then

(37:36):
the long dog leg risk reward par five on eighteen.
It's produced some great drama over the years, accuracy over
length at this golf course a shot maker's course average
green size is seven thousand square feet. But I think
some of those, you know, a few of those greens
exaggerate that eighty three sand bunkers, only four water hazards

(37:57):
and only five holes where water is in way. It's
a great it's a great tournament. You know, you got
to hit great irons and you know, sort of plot
your way around this golf course. It's not a bomber's
paradise for sure.

Speaker 4 (38:11):
And that's the course of course brought to you by
the Penn Club.

Speaker 1 (38:14):
On second I was over there today.

Speaker 4 (38:16):
Really, Yeah, great day to be over there. You need
to get over there soon.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Yeah, it was great. Seventy seventy two degrees in there.

Speaker 4 (38:23):
We had a we had powers and I had a
little call at the PGA and UH got to take
I don't know if it's public yet. The routing for
the truest is that out there.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
I don't know that they've told everybody what it's going
to be, but it's not the traditional routing. The eighteenth
hole is not going to be the eighteenth hole.

Speaker 4 (38:40):
We have the we have the course map. It's pretty
interesting and UH really looking forward to seeing that. But
back to uh, back to Hawaii for now. You got
twelve of the past fourteen winners had a T eight
or better in one of the last four starts prior
to playing here, and nine of the thirteen winners played
the century the week prior. You have guys like Corey

(39:02):
Connors who was really short odds hit decies at plus
nine hundred, Corey Connor's fourteen hundred, Tom Kim two thousand
and my pick and my one and done, Russell Henley
at two thousand, winner here actually no second place in
twenty two. Yeah he won here at one time ago,
be at twenty fourteen, Yeah he won. But Connor's too.

(39:22):
Connor as a third place in nineteen and the t
eleven and twenty two, so you get why he's up there. Obviously,
we talked about Grayson last year, was the winner, SEWU
in twenty three, HITDECI in twenty two. So what are
you thinking, Harry, Well, how about.

Speaker 1 (39:37):
Old Keegan Bradley. He was second here last year playing
some good golf, won the BMW as a motivated player.
I think he wants to be I think he wants
to have to make the decision to play on the
Ryder Cup team and be a captain. Keegan Bradley. I'll
take him at what do we got twenty five hundred
to win? And I'm also gonna take that amateur guy

(40:00):
I out of Florida State named Luke Clanton who's had
about six or seven starts thus far on the PGA Tour,
and he's played lights out. I'm gonna go top ten
with Luke at plus two eighty. I believe he is.
And you mentioned Connors and Henley. Those are two great,
great options for a one and done. I haven't decided
on that yet, but ours swing and ding at one

(40:21):
and done pool tease off tomorrow and Powers is in
the field. Wow, yes, wow. And so's Brace who was
in the top five.

Speaker 4 (40:29):
I wonder how many weeks will submit a pick overnight.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
He's got another year to see if you can.

Speaker 4 (40:36):
We're gonna set odds on that. We'll sets on the
over and under weeks. It's like a donate. It's nice
he makes a donate. He's big in the charity work,
so he doesn't make donation there.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
Yeah, we'll make it a thing.

Speaker 4 (40:47):
How about I got a little bit of a mid shot.
We won't call it a long shot. But he meet
Daniel Berger at forty five hundred.

Speaker 1 (40:55):
Yeah, talk about a motivated player.

Speaker 4 (40:58):
Yeah you know at that number.

Speaker 2 (41:00):
Wait, he played with Nelly right, that was the last
we saw him. How they play?

Speaker 4 (41:05):
He had been playing really well. He had a couple
I think he had a top ten or top fifteen
finish the week prior to that, So yeah, he's definitely
starting to get back on track.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
You know. Also, you know Tigala in there at a
juicy number and Ekroed a two time winner and friend
of the show.

Speaker 4 (41:23):
Yeah, other guys too, like Eric Cole, who's who was
a top five, top ten machine. You can get him
at twelve hundred and five fifty respectively for those for
those numbers. So you know, interestingly, something like stepstracket, right,
he was on a run for a while and then
cooled off. So tournaments like this sometimes these guys pop
back up. But I like Burger and I like Henley

(41:43):
this week for sure.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
Yeah, JT post in two thirty five hundred he won
in the falls Man. Yeah, it would be a good field,
a pretty good field.

Speaker 4 (41:53):
Yeah, no doubt about it. All right, Well, we'll be
back next week to talk about Tiger Woods playing in
the t g L. We get to see Tiger Woods
hit some golf shots, so that's always fun as yeah,
and uh and things continued now, Uh, the West Coast
swing could be a little bit interesting with what's going
on out in California.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
Oh yeah, that fire is near Riviera, very close, not
not far.

Speaker 4 (42:18):
Not good, not good at all.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
So hopefully there's no water in the fire hydrants.

Speaker 4 (42:23):
No, doesn't look good out there.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
Restrictions on showering and everything, that's wild.

Speaker 4 (42:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:29):
Yeah, it was so funny, like Kylie uh Kylie.

Speaker 3 (42:31):
Jenner did like a tour of her house the one
time and was like, everyone like, look at my house
as that.

Speaker 2 (42:36):
And she went in the.

Speaker 3 (42:37):
Shower and she turned on the water and I was
like drizzling, and people were like, oh, she has this,
you know, multimillion dollar house and she can't have you know,
her water pressure blows.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
And then everyone's like, no, California is a water restriction.
That's wild.

Speaker 1 (42:51):
You know. Oh, one more thing before we go. Scottie
Scheffler withdrew from the ans in Palm Springs.

Speaker 4 (42:59):
So see you receive and pebble right.

Speaker 1 (43:01):
Looks like Pebble Beach will be the first one. Yeah wow. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (43:05):
Yeah, it's been pretty quiet too.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (43:07):
He still has that injury he's dealing with with his hands,
So I wonder if it was a little serious, more
serious than they let on. But I haven't heard much
about it. He's a pretty private guy, so I guess
you probably will not. But we'll keep you posted and
when we talk next week, we'll find out what these
guys in TJL are making. That's our assignment. We got
to dig and figure that out. All right, we'll be
back next week. Thanks for listening, Yeah, but listen.

Speaker 1 (43:31):
