and hit up that Michaelo Vulture Dent.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
We'll have some fancis for that.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
I saw one guy that's won a couple of our
previous Fantasy golf events. Mike Ranny is on there like
like tagging himself. He doesn't tag another person he tags
himself total violation.
Speaker 7 (03:08):
Sometimes there's you know a little bit of a mix
up with people with social media and understanding the exact role.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Yeah, and then he texted me, I said, beat it.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
He just wants to go alone. I don't know.
Speaker 7 (03:20):
Yeah, he's like, I don't need to bring anybody, you know,
more beer from me. Absolutely, he actually may be the
only one doing.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
It, right, Yeah, you're right, you're right.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
But yeah, we're trying to figure out that there are
still tickets available for the Creator Classic two really in
expensive to get out, to get out on the grounds
and uh, and see some of the players out there
that are taking apart Josh Richards. Who if any of
the barstool fans out there, No, Josh, obviously Page is
going to be out there.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
I think I have a feeling Page might sell a
ticket or two.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Do you think so?
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Call me crazy?
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Yeah, yeah, Holding one trick Shots local guy Atlantic City
Country Club.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Okay, I didn't recognize his name. So and then you
sent me the text about him. We need to get
him on the show at some point.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Yeah, Josh Kelly's is his real name.
Speaker 5 (04:05):
Hold him on trick Shots and plays out of a
c great guy, great player. Claire Hogle also out there,
so yeah, it'll be fun.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
It'll be fun.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
I saw the video the trick shot guy did like
a thing like a rocket theme.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
It was really good, really well done.
Speaker 7 (04:22):
Yea creators class today. These guys know how to make
the content Philly. Let you know, let's do the whole
embrace the Philly.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Yeah, I mean he went to like multiple locations. You know,
it was really well done. I gotta it was that guy.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
It was, Yeah, so really looking forward to it. Next
week's gonna be great in the city of Philadelphia. Make
sure you had the truest championship their website information on parking.
It's a little bit hectic getting in and out of there,
so just make sure you're you're paying attention to what's
going on and following yep. And then we'll share our
location on Friday for everyone that's out there and Wednesday,
(04:58):
so you can come by and say hi. But we'll
have that we'll have a nice setup out there so
you'll you'll see us. You won't be able to miss us,
that's for sure.
Speaker 8 (05:06):
So I would love if we had a Heckler Harry.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
I think we're going to at least I've been told
I'll go yeah, we could handle it, and we can
handle it.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
There wasn't much heckling at the Zori Classic, though, I
tell you that much if there was a lot of
love for for.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Rory and Shane uh.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
Rory's quote was actually pretty good. They were like, we're
surprised you played this. He was like, this is a
perfect way to place after winning an event like the Masters.
What better event than to play with your buddy, like
you know, in a team event, just to kind of
get back into it. So, but the story is Andrew
Novak and Ben Griffith uh Na Invitational alum, Right, both
(05:47):
get their first PGA Tour wins.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
How special is that?
Speaker 5 (05:50):
Right? Because these guys are tight, Right, you get your
first win together, right, you always have that, you can
share that that memory. And and Novak has been hot, right,
there's been able to and he's been trending, as they said, totally.
But it's funny because Ben Griffin hits that thirty five
foot putt on seventeen that basically seals.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
It for them. Yeah, you know, so Tiger one stroke
win too, right, It got very tight.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
They started out why three stroke to start the day
and then it tightened up with Jake Knapp's team.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
But yeah, I mean, incredible win for those guys.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
Happy for both of them, especially you know with Novak
with the playoff loss and all that.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
So really cool to see.
Speaker 7 (06:31):
And they've been all over I've seen the interviews with everything,
just talking about it, and the one interview that I
liked is they were talking about how important this was
for their career. Of course it's split FedEx cup points,
they have to share it, but just securing you know, status,
a job on the PGA tour longer possibly yeah, and
then possibly getting that punch in everything else.
Speaker 6 (06:52):
Like it's people don't realize. Yeah, it's a very big deal.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Yeah, it is a big deal, and it was great
to see. As you guys said, I mean, you know,
Griff had a great year last year. He was trending
last season, but not so much this year. And he
played like thirteen straight weeks and finally took a couple
of weeks off and came back and it showed like
he looked like he had his game back. Although Novak
was carrying him the first day or two, Griffin really
(07:18):
showed up on the weekend, especially like you mentioned, with
the pot on the alternate shot. I tell you that
alternate shot on the final day. Man, anything can happen,
Like guys can make bogies, you know, the bad things
can happen, you know, and you know they were able
to hold on, and it's really really cool to see.
I knew Novak was going to knock one of these
down at some point, and now he did it in
(07:39):
a team event, and really happy for both of those guys,
the NIPA alums.
Speaker 7 (07:43):
Yes, and we talked about this last year when we
were going over the zeroch But that alternate shot too,
which a lot of people don't may not realize, Like
there's so much strategy that goes into it. It's like, okay,
I'm Shrick's on Harry, your titleist, Like which one has
more spin? Who's hitting the first shot? Which one's like
going to hit that second shot in? How are we putting?
Like what should which ball should we choose? Like you know,
who's going to tee off first? Because then you have
(08:04):
to like you know, it's alternate shot, Like a lot
of strategy.
Speaker 8 (08:07):
So that's pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Yeah, I don't know how much of you guys trying.
Did you watch a lot of the broadcast on.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Not a time.
Speaker 6 (08:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (08:14):
I didn't get to watch a ton either.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (08:17):
I was really hung over this weekend birthday. We went
out much drink so.
Speaker 5 (08:21):
Wrong with How about this that they said, not only
did Ben Griffin just win with a Max Fly golf
ball for the first time in ages, but word from
maxly is that he and Andrew Novak decided to play
Ben's Max Fly Tour X completely in foursomes.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Ye.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
How about that for Max fly Man?
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Yeah? Be relevant since.
Speaker 8 (08:41):
Their marketing team is like, let's go.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Max Fly.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
I got to credit Jack Hirsh on that because he's
the one who turned that into Max Flys new ball
and the reintroduction of their their golf ball. And he
really raved about it too. So now they're going to
get major publicity out of it.
Speaker 6 (09:00):
On by my Balls.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Yeah, I'm sure you can.
Speaker 6 (09:04):
There we go backup fan.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Lexi Thompson, Sean Foley is endorsing. Pretty interesting, Lexi Thompson.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
I thought she retired. I guess she gets She's here
every week.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
She made the cut, she made the cut that the
chevron and the Major and was like, you know, played
pretty well.
Speaker 7 (09:21):
He played golf sickness, you know, and it's just like
that that chance to be like, you.
Speaker 8 (09:26):
Know, let me just get back out there, but I do.
Speaker 7 (09:28):
I have to circle back here and tell you guys.
One of my favorite things from the Zurich outside of
you know, obviously great seeing Ben and Andrew win, but
seeing Jeff Hanley, his caddie, Andrew Novak's caddie. His dad
had passed away last year, and Andrew was like, you know, hey, Jeff,
(09:49):
take off all the time you need, like I'll get
somebody to fill in, like, don't worry about it. So
this was his first time back since last year, and
once they won, he was like, you know, I just
feel like my dad was here with me, and it
was just so special. He was so emotional. So I
thought it was really special. But the cool part and
just kind of showing like what a great guy Andrew
Novak is.
Speaker 6 (10:09):
He did a pretty cool gesture.
Speaker 7 (10:11):
He surprised Hamley in the County dining area with free
blizzards and deli bars and memory of his father.
Speaker 6 (10:16):
So I thought that was.
Speaker 7 (10:17):
Like a really cute special moment for the two of them,
just like showing the appreciation and you know, kind of
honoring his father, if you will, I thought that was
super cute.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Very cool, pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (10:26):
Both Carolina guys, you know, from the North Carolina, South
Carolina area, and they both were in Sea Island play
a lot of golf together. Now I understand Griffin is
moving down towards your area.
Speaker 8 (10:36):
He's already here, he is, he's already there.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
Okay, so yeah, he's relocated.
Speaker 6 (10:40):
So I'm still trying to claim him.
Speaker 8 (10:41):
But he got the jupe bug.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
How about them hoyguards?
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Huh, Yeah, they were threatening.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
They played well, And I'm.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Tired of this lazy narrative of the broadcasters not being
able to know which one is which are you serious, like,
we haven't seen enough of these guys. We can't tell
that Ramus has longer hair.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Come on. The broadcast was horrible.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
The television broadcast.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
It was like a funeral.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
There was no you talk about low t That broadcast
has zero energy, zero zip.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
It was awful. Now, first of all, Nance wasn't.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
A part of it, but he didn't really even say
anything anymore anyway, he's kind of he.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Doesn't really do much.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
But Andrew Catalan was the Jim Nance guy, and you know,
he does a fine job, but he's not an energy guy, there.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Is no those analysts that that whole broadcast.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
I've been complaining about them for years, that whole They
need to fire everybody on that podcast.
Speaker 7 (11:43):
Yes, get out, you're done out, and especially an event
like that where it should be fun, you know, like
everything like hey with my buddy, this is easy, this
is gone.
Speaker 6 (11:52):
It's kind of low pressure.
Speaker 7 (11:53):
I don't think every person in the field feels like Rory,
but at least on the broadcast and like make it.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Exactly it is.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
And Rory did really look relaxed. That's one thing that
stood out to me. I mean they didn't win, obviously,
but he looked like he was legitimately having fun and
walking around like a giant weight had been lifted off
of his back. I mean, it's really obvious.
Speaker 6 (12:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (12:16):
Well there's some people too that when I talked about,
you know, the Zurich with some of the people in
the field, they're like, yeah, you know, it's cool, you
get to be at your buddies, more chill and relax.
But there's other people that are like, wait, I'm playing
with one of my friends and I'm trying to help
support him, and there's more pressure for me to perform
really well. And like I want to play better because
I don't want to let that person down, Like you're
now accountable for yourself and somebody else.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
So I could see how an event like that can
even propel a guy like Novak even more because you
see it, right, Like, when you're playing alone and you
miss a shot, you get really down on yourself. When
you're playing partner missus that same shot you're up, you're like, oh,
we got this, we got this right. It almost like
it teaches you how to be a little easier on yourself,
I think in hard situations. And I think they all
(12:58):
can use that from time to time out there because
it is.
Speaker 6 (13:01):
A great point.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
Never say you're sorry is what they all say, you
know to your part, like you never you should never
be in that moment like you're gonna hit bad shots
and there's no need to apologize to the teammate. He'll
you know, he's supposed to have your back and pick
you up.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Yep. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (13:17):
When you're out there alone, though, you just internalize it,
right and just beat yourself up.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
Yeah yeah, I invent curse words to call myself.
Speaker 8 (13:28):
I have some good ones, but we're not going to share.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
Though you're practicing.
Speaker 5 (13:33):
You're practicing for our live Fox Sports The Gambler broadcast
next week, right, that's right. If you can listen to
us live too next week from the Truest on Fox
Sports The Gambler from two to five pm on Friday,
so you don't have to wait for the podcast.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
You could. You could listen to us live, So that
would be fun.
Speaker 6 (13:48):
Yeah, not a five second delay.
Speaker 7 (13:50):
There's the funny thing is I don't CAUs at all,
but I was in studio with you guys once and
I think I did a double.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
Sometimes it brings it out of people. You know, Well,
let's let's spill some tea. Let's see if we can
knock cursetring the tea too.
Speaker 6 (14:07):
We'll say, yeah, let's start light. Lydia Coo.
Speaker 7 (14:10):
She's released a YouTube series. There's you know, we have
a creator classic coming up. We kind of been talking
about all of this YouTube golf and all these creators
everything else. Well, lydia co is doing a full series
on fighting Back and just talking about kind of some
of her mental struggles but then also literally fighting back
and kind of some of the resurgence of her game
before as she enters retirement. I know, Harry's a little
(14:32):
bit more in tune with the LBGA status than I am,
so he may be able to add some color to that.
Speaker 6 (14:38):
But that is locked in.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
The Hall of Fame.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
She recently locked in that, you know, with Hall of
Fame getting those points to get in, and there's one
since then. I mean she's on fire. I mean there's
she might want to retire, but it's not because of
her game. I mean, she's still one of the top
players out there.
Speaker 7 (14:54):
Yeah, she probably just needs more time. Wonder if it'll
be a true retirement or a or a lexi retirement.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Yeah, who knows.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
I mean sometimes, you know, you lose these female golfers
because they want to go and you know, be a
mom and have you know, have families, and that kind
of gets in the way and they leave in the
prime of their career.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
You know.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Loreno o'choa is one of the names that comes to
mind from back in back in the day who was
at the top of her game and chose to retire
because she chose to to be a.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
You know, be a mom and a you know, have
a family.
Speaker 8 (15:26):
Yeah, I mean it's really tough to travel with a child.
Speaker 7 (15:28):
I know, one of my friends j Marie Green, she
has like a one and a half year old and
she's trying to figure out how can I get back
And it's like, Okay, I'm still trying to take care
of my child practice and then get on the road
and travel with a child, and.
Speaker 8 (15:39):
It's like when you're their caretakers. Definitely got to be
a struggle, Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 6 (15:45):
Part of me.
Speaker 7 (15:46):
President's Cup Captain so Brent Snedeker and Jeff Ogilvie looking
to rewrite Medona memories as the new appointed President Cup
captains thought on this.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
Yeah, Snedz needs to grow back the mullet enough with
the short hair.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
For Snedge, he needs to bring it.
Speaker 6 (16:03):
Back for that's true USA.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
The Ryder Cup went out on the limb and tried
something different.
Speaker 5 (16:08):
President's Cup right back to the old the old formula,
right yea, yeah.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
Yeah exactly. Yeah, I would like to see the mule though.
That's true USA fashion.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
He didn't looked the same with short hair. I don't know,
it makes him look older. But our pal Joey Chitwood,
Uh the Third is running that President's Cup, so we
need in touch with him in the next couple of months.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
And to see about getting some some people on.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Oh yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 7 (16:35):
We lately talked about caddies last week, but Colin Morkowe
split with his long time caddy and then he hired
Joe Griner to carry his bag.
Speaker 6 (16:44):
And then we saw the hue.
Speaker 7 (16:45):
Yeah, we saw that Grinder was just he used to
be with Max Homa. And then I think, Moose, you
talked about a couple of weeks ago he filled in
for JT at the Masters and RBC, and now he's
on Collin's bag.
Speaker 6 (16:56):
So see how that works out?
Speaker 3 (16:59):
I was, I was, I thought JT was going to
make a move him up.
Speaker 6 (17:02):
Yeah, right, I thought the same thing, especially with that success.
I'm like, wait, so he.
Speaker 5 (17:06):
Works out as the reverend is back on his bag, right,
I guess that's who he had beforehand.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
Yeah, yeah, very interesting.
Speaker 7 (17:13):
I don't imagine imagine the thoughts of your job security
when you're like, Sugar, this person's billing in for me
this week and he, you know, is winning, and you
know then yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
I mean, I know Grinder was reading a lot of
putts for JT and and they went in on that win.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
So that's what Colin Moore Cowan needs.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
He needs to make more Putts, so maybe this is
this might be the formula for him for sure.
Speaker 7 (17:36):
But talking about Caddy's, uh, Padrake, he talked about kind
of Caddy's having an addiction or a gambling addiction, if
you will, and he's like, you know, just for them
to be like each week being like, oh I might
there's a chance I win money or you just get
your flat feet that week.
Speaker 6 (17:51):
But he just said like kind of how.
Speaker 7 (17:52):
It's like the sickness where you just are so sucked
in and you know you enjoy being part of the
big show. And he talked about how like, you know,
all of his success was definitely you know, like Caddie
had a part of it, but he just kind of
was shedding some light into the Caddy life, which I
thought was kind of cool because that's not something that
we always talk about.
Speaker 8 (18:10):
But with all this other Caddy news, I figured I.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
Could listen to him talk about anything. I love hearing Padri.
Speaker 6 (18:15):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
I love watching his instruction videos, like one little thing
will be like twenty seven minutes long and I'm there
for the whole thing.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (18:24):
I mean Joaquim Nieman qualified for the US Open through
the top three Live exemption, so we'll see him and uh.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
In June Wacko joaqu Wacko wackos how they refer to
him on the broadcast.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
I think it's pretty funny.
Speaker 6 (18:42):
But it's kind of funny.
Speaker 5 (18:43):
It's just I wish you guys could see what's going
on right in front of me right now I'm doing
this show. There's a full blown dance breakdown party outside
of Power ninety nine Studios, is right, Yeah, it's it's
there's a lot going on out here.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Wow, it's crazy.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
I kind of want to around. Let's see, let's see
what we're working with.
Speaker 7 (19:05):
Yeah, another update here, a little bit additional Tea Blades Brown.
Speaker 8 (19:12):
We talked about him before he turned down a.
Speaker 6 (19:14):
PGA Tour exemption on the corn Faery Tour, so we
saw him a few weeks ago shooting.
Speaker 7 (19:20):
I think he shot like a sixty one and he's
the lowest score by a player under the age of
eighteen in a corn Faery event. And obviously we know
exemptions are hard to come by, but he uh, he said,
you know, he just wanted to pass it up. He
just didn't feel ready or whatever the situation was, but
he denied the exemption.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
So interesting.
Speaker 7 (19:40):
Yeah, and then we can yawn at this, we can
get into it, we can do whatever.
Speaker 6 (19:47):
But Live.
Speaker 7 (19:50):
Golf is in discussions again with official World Golf Ranking,
so we'll.
Speaker 6 (19:54):
See how that goes. I'm kind of on the.
Speaker 7 (19:58):
On the side of saying, just tell us when there's
a decision, man, don't just be like, we're talking about
it again.
Speaker 8 (20:04):
We're talking about it again. I just want to know.
Speaker 6 (20:06):
I just want to know when it's done.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
Yeah, met with Trevor Immlman. I believe for a long
time to try to figure something.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Out for the world ranking points and so forth.
Speaker 4 (20:15):
But they but Live hasn't adjusted, hasn't changed anything since
nothing they tried the last time.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
So I don't know.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
They said they're willing.
Speaker 5 (20:21):
To that's what That's what the last talks were, that
they're willing to make some adjustments in order to the start.
Speaker 8 (20:30):
Of the calendar season or whatever.
Speaker 6 (20:32):
I guess. I don't even know when their season runs from.
Speaker 8 (20:35):
But staying on the topic of Lev Harry, you shared.
Speaker 7 (20:38):
A dm UH with us that was hilarious and price.
Speaker 8 (20:41):
I want to want to get into that a little bit.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Yeah, he was down in Mexico.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
They had to live Mexico last week and apparently he
was very frustrated with the sand at the golf course
and there's video of him just hitting bunker shot. Looked
like me at at my club because I'm very frustrated
with the difference in the sand and I have trouble
getting out the sand many times, and he's just hitting
it and the ball is just staying in the bunker's.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
Worst bunkers ever ever.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
It was so great just to see somebody else go
through what I go with.
Speaker 6 (21:11):
One of us, one of us.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
I love him.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Everything he does makes me love him.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
More, and he is here thud and then the ball
just go like.
Speaker 6 (21:19):
Literally yeah, and the frustration.
Speaker 7 (21:22):
I just watched it when you know, at the beginning
of the show, I was cracking up because literally it's
relatable and it's like, okay, yeah they are they are
one of us.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
And he's so good. It has so much control. That
part of it he probably was doing on purpose.
Speaker 5 (21:33):
Maybe prove a point, like I'm going to make this
not get out, like because you know, he's that good.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
But I proved that he didn't love the setup.
Speaker 6 (21:42):
And again with that live format, being like you know, yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
Well he was on that was in the mix ally.
They had a great leaderboard, by the way, I mean
for five or six of their top players, the ones
that we care about, were all at the top of
the leaderboard except Koepka.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
He was the only guy that wasn't playing very well.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
DJ made an appearance in there, Hatton de Shambeau, Nieman,
I mean everybody that it is, anybody on that tour
right now. Yeah, Rom was up there too and getting
very frustrated, which we love to see.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
He's hitting a t shot and it goes you know,
how'd that go? Right? He's just he's just so annoyed
with everything.
Speaker 7 (22:22):
Oh so wait, I just looked this up as we
were talking, because I said, Joaquin, you know, got his exemption.
But the US Open has established an exemption system where
the top player from the top three on the individual
standings as of May nineteenth, not already, not already except
so in twenty twenty six the sixpence to two spots.
But this year it's just joking, So who and then already.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Shambo yeah right, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:49):
What else do who else would we have in there?
Speaker 8 (22:51):
Wrong?
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Yeah, he'd still yeah exempt.
Speaker 6 (22:55):
Yeah, yeah, two spots next year not beoun.
Speaker 8 (23:01):
Yeah, Well that's for the tea.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
All right, I'm shooting. I'm shooting some video I could
send you guys.
Speaker 6 (23:06):
Oh yeah, see the article.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Well, speaking of.
Speaker 4 (23:11):
Stuff that we can identify with, I don't know if
you caught any of the Chevron Championship, the first major
of the year on the LPGA Tour on Sunday, but
it ended up in a five player playoff, which was
pretty good. There was no drama until the very end.
When Aria Gutanagarn is on the eighteenth hole.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
She's just off the green.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
It's a par five, drivable in two for most of
the players, and she's beyond the green in the rough.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
They had a grand stand that came.
Speaker 4 (23:39):
Very close, and some of the players were hitting the
ball intentionally basically into the grand stand knowing they'd get
a drop, knowing they'd get a drop. And she's in
the rough and takes the club back and just duffs it.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
The ball moved about a foot, it stayed in the rough.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
She's she could have she would have won the tournament
if she just puts it on the green and makes
the pot sheet a one and duffed it and brought
in all these other players and ended up in a
five way playoff and Ronnie Yin hits this unbelievable approach
shot with a fairway medal to about fifteen feet. She's
there in two and ends up making par and doesn't win.
(24:19):
The win went to my Sigo, who made birdie on
the hole from about six or eight feet away.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
It's her first win. She's a rookie. It was. It
was really pretty good, but that du uh. Yes.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
They went one playoff hole which was eighteen again and
Sigo ended up winning with a birdie.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
Like everybody else is making pars or bogies. It was.
It was pretty It was.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
Like a pillow fight, but it ended up being pretty good,
and that the Duff chip was amazing, Like to.
Speaker 8 (24:46):
See the and then like two putting two through.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
She three putt for three.
Speaker 6 (24:52):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Yeah yeah, she's not putt for par.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
Yeah so wow yeah yeah.
Speaker 7 (24:59):
But you know what, how having that experience for next
time that she's in that situation and hopefully be able
to yeah, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
Then.
Speaker 7 (25:06):
So I think was good for Ben too, like having
that law you know, Zurich, having that really long putt
and whatever, because he's been in a couple of really
close situations where I think those nerves but now being
in that situation a few times and knowing he can
do it right, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
No doubt.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
Well, listen, we've talked about golf balls a little bit
on the show, and remember tee off with top tier

com with his.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
Z check them out.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
All right.
Speaker 5 (25:53):
We head to the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, where you
have to lay some money if you want. Scottie Scheffler,
we talked about it. This is a go low type
of place. Let's start with the course of course of
course presented by the Penn Club on second by the
Great Harry Mays TPC.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Craig Ranch, Yeah, Craig Ranch, par seventy one, pretty long,
seventy five hundred and sixty nine yards and it's a
Tom weiss Coough design back in two thousand and four,
and it's got all the typical characteristics of a weiss
Cough design. Four par threes, three par fives makes it
a par seventy one, and there's only one par five
(26:32):
on the second nine, and that's the last hole, the
eighteenth hole. There's always a drivable par four on a
Wiscough design, and this one happens in the closing stretch
on number fourteen. The average green size pretty big, sixty
seven hundred and seventy eight square feet.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
They're bent grass greens. They'll be stimping at about eleven
and a half.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
The fairways are Zoysia moose, so you love the Zoisa.
It's gonna sit right up there like it's on a mat.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
And the rough is Bermuda rough.
Speaker 4 (26:59):
There's four water hat but it's in play on thirteen
holes thanks to Roulet Creek, which meanders through the entire property.
The closing holes, I start with the short par four fourteenth.
The par three fifteenth is a long one at two
hundred and sixteen yards. Then there's a long par four
sixteenth at almost five hundred yards, then a short par
(27:19):
three seventeenth. It's only one hundred and forty seven. Guys
will be hitting wedge most likely into that one and
then the reachable par five eighteenth at five hundred and
fifty two yards, where birdie is a must and an
eagle would be better. So that will make for some
dramatic finishes. And like you said, Moose, they're going to
be up around twenty seven twenty eight under probably to
win this tournament.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
Oh yeah, at a minimum.
Speaker 4 (27:40):
You gotta go low, and you gotta go low early,
like you got to get a fast start at this tournament.
Speaker 6 (27:46):
They do have some impeding weather.
Speaker 7 (27:49):
I don't know if it'll be out of the way
by Thursday but or tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
But I know fell in love with Zoysia. Yeah yeah, yeah,
how was that?
Speaker 4 (27:58):
We didn't really talk about that much. What was that
like for you hitting off the Zooja.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Well, when I when I was in the fairway, it.
Speaker 5 (28:06):
Was it was nice, But it took me about eight
holes to figure out how to hit my driver again.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
I'm lost right now.
Speaker 5 (28:16):
I was going into this into this Gulf season feeling great.
When I tee it up on Friday, I don't know
if I hit a cut or a draw. I don't
know how to hit my driver to save my life.
So confidence levels are pretty high. You know, I'm feeling
feeling pretty good. I mean, if you were my partner
going into the tournament, you would be thrilled right now.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
Well, do you have the mini driver yet?
Speaker 3 (28:34):
No?
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Okay, okay, but.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
I do need to consider that because the regular driver
is what did Baldy say? The dishwasher confuses meuses me.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
The driver confuses me.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
I think I'm not an instructor obviously, and I stamp,
but I know you, and I know the way you swing.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
You've got a big swing.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
If I were you, I would really work on hitting
a cut shot off the tee and.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Just that's what I that's that's what I was trying.
Speaker 4 (29:01):
That would be yes, exactly over over over cutting it.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
I've also realized that it had.
Speaker 5 (29:12):
But what I realized was even what Lewis told me
was you're trying to slow your swing down.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
I could see you.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
I said, I am, he goes, you don't ever do that.
People die to have your your speed. Just figure out
how to work with your speed. And I literally started
like almost like popping my left foot out, like and
that's when I was starting to hit the ball straight
and far because I was almost like holding myself back
once I started like almost popping my foot.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
Yeahs opening up literally.
Speaker 5 (29:43):
Popped, Yeah, because if not, I'm like trapping myself back.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
It is, it is. It's a it's a nightmare out there.
Speaker 5 (29:52):
One of these years we're going to figure it out,
and it's going to be glorious that much. It's going
to be the and there something that'd be interesting with
the driver. Our friends at bet Parks are glorious. You
could do it all right there everything you needed to do.
So let's talk about see the line. But first Harry
Mays will talk about Bet Parks.
Speaker 4 (30:12):

to play, You play to win. You bet bet Parks
gambling problem call one eight hundred gambler.
Speaker 5 (31:31):
All right, So when we see the line here for
this one again, this is a this is a tough one.
You got Scottie at plus two to eighty and then
drops down to Jordan'speith at plus eighteen hundred. You have
Pendrith defending here. Jason Day has a win here. Some
of the other guys top it aboard Sunjay, Ben Ben On.
You know Pendrith Ciwu who's played well here, Sam Burns,
(31:53):
Ben Griffith thirty five hundred boom, He's right up at
the top of the leaderboard after that win. I do
like Beef. I could see him winning this. I know
it's a short number at eighteen hundred. I'm going to
take him in one and done.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
If I still have him left, I have to check.
I think I do.
Speaker 5 (32:07):
But the one bet I do like is is and
I forget about this a lot. It drove me crazy
when I didn't take Rose and the Masters first first
round leader Charlie Hoffman.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
He's got a sixty five.
Speaker 5 (32:19):
Sixty six here in past opening rounds, so he's a
good first round on him first round, and I like
sun Jag again. I'm sticking top of the board here.
I know it's not the best number, but the fact
that he's played well here and he's a little bit
thinned out these days, and I don't know, I can
see him hoisting the trophy this weekend.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
All right.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
It's a it's definitely a second shot golf course. So
guys that aren't that accurate with the driver, it's not
going to penalize them this week length If they can
hit it far. It doesn't have to be straight, but
if they're really good with their approach game, Uh, those
would be guys I look at. I'm gonna be targeting
Sammy Vallamachi in a top twenty. You talk about a
guy who's playing irons this year on tour, it's this guy.
(33:02):
I know he doesn't get a whole lot of publicity,
but he's one of those under radar guys, you know,
sort of like sort of like our guy Novak right
now on the tour. I got him in a top
twenty at plus two to eighty. Another guy who I
think is good for this golf course is Jake Knapp.
I'm taking him in a top twenty at plus two hundred.
(33:23):
I'm gonna ride with Ryan Garrard in my one and
done and I'm taking him in a top ten. He's
a terrific iron player, his all around game is really good,
and he's another guy I think that's trending right now
looking for a win at plus four hundred and top ten.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
I'll take him in one and done.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
His strokes gained, approach, strokes gained putting, and strokes gained
total are near the top of the board.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
He's got two top.
Speaker 4 (33:47):
Tens this year and he's made eleven of twelve cuts.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
Ryan Garrard, you're on.
Speaker 6 (33:54):
The Jason Baile player train.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Is that right? That's right now, guys, right?
Speaker 5 (33:58):
Yeah, you see the disparity from the bet Park's leader board.
You have Speith who's second on the board at plus
eighteen hundred, but in the one and done he's in
the top twenty. He's down below Hoyguard and Griffith. I've
actually taken him, so I can't take them, but that's
interesting to see that.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
Yeah, speif Sung, Jay ben On and Sewoo are all
very popular picks in one and done this week.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
Yeah, I just went with I just went I just
went with Son Jayson.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
Yeah, he's solid, man, I mean he's you know, if
he makes a couple of putts ear, he'll be there
on Sunday in the mix for sure, no doubt. But
I had a great time on Monday. Your guys are
going to be able to see. This was followed by
a video crew. Jack Flanagan from Inside Golf, who produces
that fine program, was following me along with Marty Emmino
(34:50):
from GAP playing the front nine at the at Bluebell
on Monday with a couple of guys that I had
just met, great guys Britain.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
Steve and Bob were all buddies of mine. By the
end of it.
Speaker 4 (35:03):
We had a terrific time, but the playing on video awesome.
You're gonna see some of the greatest golf shots I've
ever hit in my life. Yes, particularly on and I
make par on the first hole with a tap in
and they weren't there. They joined us on two, which
is a really difficult hole at Bluebell, So I made
bogie there, but it was a good bogey. Then I'm
(35:25):
I on eight, I'm dog leg right. I pipe a
drive right out in the middle of the fairway. I've
got about two h five in and I take the
seven wood and Jack Flanagan's like fifteen yards behind me
with the camera. I felt like I was on CBS
and I striped this thing to fifteen feet.
Speaker 1 (35:42):
I was the only guy to hit the green and
this was a just a go. You either had a
shot tracer in this son of a gun. I'm telling
you I was. I had would it was on?
Speaker 3 (35:52):
Where are we saying this footage?
Speaker 4 (35:53):
You're going to see this next Sunday at ten o'clock
on Inside Golf.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
That's why I came away the first time.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
Yeah, I can't.
Speaker 7 (36:00):
We got to share that. So essentially, Harry, you just
need a film crow following you.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
At all, exactly. That's what I need. That's that's where
I was going.
Speaker 7 (36:08):
Yeah, Chad, mom, we need we need Harry on on
the next step full let.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Me go in the in the Philly Golf quarter zip
by here too.
Speaker 4 (36:17):
Yes, I wore the Philly Golf quarter zip the Peter
Malar was repping the brand.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
It's gonna look good, beautiful, Yes, I did say. I
just had wood your correct power.
Speaker 3 (36:27):
He had wood with his seven wood. Yeah, I might
need to look at a seven wood.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
I love that club.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
I'm hearing some good things about those things.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
And I got the vessel bag. I got the vessel.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
Did it came in?
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Okay, yes it came in. I know. Do you have
a vessel to Daniel?
Speaker 6 (36:43):
I sure do.
Speaker 8 (36:44):
From the winning at the Old Palm member guest.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
Oh wow, they're.
Speaker 6 (36:48):
Beautiful, I know.
Speaker 7 (36:49):
And then Brad gave me a Scottie Cameron bag for Christmas,
and Brandon's like, oh you want miss Witch.
Speaker 8 (36:54):
Your club's over, and I'm like Brad, don't listen, hang up.
Speaker 7 (36:57):
I was like, I low key like the old better,
you know, because it's more girly.
Speaker 6 (37:03):
But yeah, but it's.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
The Americana version, the red, white and blue. It looks
it looks really tight.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Swing. Yeah. Oh, yours is great.
Speaker 7 (37:13):
Yeah, it's like it's like a Hunter Green, but it's
like the Matt Green.
Speaker 8 (37:16):
It's it's pretty.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Yours is white, right, mine's white.
Speaker 5 (37:19):
Yeah, with the with the swinging thing at Philly Golf
logo right on the front.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
It did a great job.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
And what color is the logo?
Speaker 3 (37:26):
It's green. It's that dark green. Niceah. Yeah, it's beautiful.
All right, Stay tuned.
Speaker 5 (37:32):
Next couple of days, we'll do the giveaway for the
